Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

  1. Turkey nationwide mayoral elections: anti-Erdogan aka secularist Kemalists won the election.

Even in Istanbul and Ankara. And coastal areas also. Huge defeat for Erdogan. State broadcaster & others are silent, aka terrified.

I sent a Reuters link to Vlad confirming Erdogan’s loss of Istanbul.

He lost not only Ankara but also Istanbul. There’s a media ban.

ERDOGAN, nor his wife, are not happy people tonight. Expect uprisings soon.

    • I forgot to check follow-up comments, if any, on my Turkey post.
      I’m doing it now.
What happened in Turkey today is crucial and not to be ignored.

    • Deutsche Welle – Turkey elections: Setback for Erdogan’s AKP

It’s a significant setback for Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. His AK party has lost control of the capital, Ankara in local elections and is also on the brink of defeat in Istanbul. The elections are seen as a referendum on his leadership. Many voters say they’re unhappy with the way Erdogan is handling the country’s economic downturn.

Thousands celebrated in the streets of Ankara on Sunday, as the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) candidate for the Ankara municipality Mansur Yavas triumphed at the local elections.

Yavas’ victory will see the CHP back in power in the Turkish capital, ousting the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after 25 years in power.

According to Anadolu Agency, the CHP won 50.9 percent of votes against the 47.06 percent of the AKP.

  2. Daesh Women With French Citizenship Are ‘Enemies’, Won’t Be Accepted Back – FM (sputniknews, apr 1, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201904011073725471-daesh-france-enemies-foreign-minister/

“France is not the only Western state that is deciding the fate of its nationals who were supporting Daesh* militants in crisis-torn Syria and Iraq. In February, UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid revoked the citizenship of jihadi bride Shamima Begum.

In an interview with the Ouest-France newspaper French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian expressed his clear opposition to calls that Daesh women who have French citizenship should be given the right to return to France. He called the females “fighters”, thus, as he stated, they “should be treated as such”.

The official also noted that there was no option of accepting back Daesh fighters, including women, as they are European state’s “enemies”.

“The French, who fought in the ranks of Daesh fought against France. These are our enemies. They should be treated and tried in the place where they committed the crimes, especially in Iraq and Syria. This is true for men and women. Because, in 2014, 2015 and 2016, when they travel to Iraq and Syria, they went there usually to fight.”…”

  3. Finland Pins Hopes on Ethnic Minority Cops Amid Growing Multiculturalism (sputniknews, Apr 1, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201904011073724040-finland-police-diversity/

“It is favourable for the police to reflect the ethnic make-up of the population, the head of Finland’s Police University College stated, justifying the push for more diversity in the increasingly multicultural Nordic nation.

Finland needs more foreign-background police to better connect with an increasingly diverse population, Kimmo Himberg, the head of the Police University College, told national broadcaster Yle.

According to him, the Finnish authorities need to encourage people from more diverse backgrounds to serve in the police force, as Finland is becoming increasingly multinational at a rapid rate. In Helsinki alone, there are about 100,000 residents who speak a different mother tongue than Finnish or Swedish. In the capital city’s metropolitan area, there are about 200,000 foreign-language speakers.

“Research findings from countries that are more ethnically diverse than Finland show it’s favourable for the police force to reflect the make-up of the population they serve,” Himberg explained.

While immigrant-background recruits are still somewhat of an oddity in Finland, the Police College earlier this year launched a campaign with an emphasis on diversity in its midst. Last week, a new batch of recruits (half of them women) began their training at the police college in Tampere.

“Based on their names, around five percent of the new students have an immigrant background, either recent or one or two generations back,” Himberg said. According to him, the college doesn’t record students’ ethnic origin or mother tongue.

Officers from multicultural communities in Finland have been working to spread the word about career opportunities in law enforcement to get new blood to join the ranks.

While the police force makes no secret of its intention to welcome more immigrant-background candidates, it has no plans to lower the bar for admission or actively discriminate in favour of the newcomers. All entry requirements will remain the same, and the candidates must exhibit the same level of language proficiency in Finnish and Swedish as ethnic Finns. Due to the historic Swedish-speaking minority that makes up about 5 percent of the Finnish population, all officials must also display a good command of what is called “the public servant’s Swedish”.

Language proficiency is often a stumbling block for immigrant-background candidates, Himberg emphasised. According to him, those failing only the language portion of the test should receive more encouragement to re-apply.

Other obstacles preventing people from an immigrant background from considering a job with the police include family pressure as well as past experiences in their countries of origin.

“Some youths have said it’s been difficult to tell their families that they’re applying to the police college,” Himberg explained.

As of 2017, there were over 373,000 foreign people residing in Finland, which corresponds to 6.8% of the population. Previously, numerous polls have indicated that the majority of the Finnish people want to limit immigration to the country in order to preserve its cultural heritage.”

  4. Australian PM Refuses to Help Children of Daesh Militant Return Home (sputniknews, Apr 1, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/world/201904011073723162-scott-morrison-australia-daesh-children/

“Earlier on Monday, the Australian broadcaster ABC reported that surviving children of Australia’s “most notorious convert” to Daesh* Khaled Sharrouf are being held in the Kurdish-controlled al-Hawl refugee camp in northern Syria.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has ruled out the possibility of helping the children of Australian Daesh member Khaled Sharrouf in the wake of reports about the children being held at a Syrian refugee camp.

Morrison told reporters in Canberra that he is not going “to put one Australian life at risk to try and extract people from these dangerous situations”.

“I think it’s appalling that Australians have gone and fought against our values and our way of life and peace-loving countries of the world in joining the Daesh fight. I think it’s even more despicable that they put their children in the middle of it,” he underscored.

Morrison’s remarks came after the Australian news network ABC reported that Sharrouf’s three remaining children had fled the siege of Daesh’s last stronghold Baghouz in southern Syria in mid-March and were then taken by Kurdish forces to the al-Hawl refugee camp about 300 kilometres north of the conflict.

The children’s mother Tara Nettleton reportedly died of a medical condition in 2015 after she followed Sharrouf to Syria from Sydney.

Nettleton’s mother urged the Australian government to help her surviving grandchildren return to the country, telling ABC that the kids are with “other Australian and foreign fighters [in the camps] and they shouldn’t be in amongst all of that”…”

  6. Richard: I’ll put my money on Private Companies, the governments don’t have any incentive to cut costs while boosting quality and safety. What Chris doesn’t know is that the original intent of NASA was to develop the technology and then turn it over to private companies to run with. Then the Dems got in control and changed things to be government only.

SpaceX vs. NASA: Who Will Get to Mars First? | Elon Musk | America Uncovered

    • A global society requires absolute freedom from chaos and even ignoring man the weather and the planet have much to say here.
This is an addendum to that video(Thx Richard.)
Supergrains rip out soil nutrients faster than they can leach back in while the myth of growing seeds on wet cotton wool(air and water) only works while the seeds carry enough of the required nutrients to germinate. Try to find out how long it takes for the generational seeds from such cotton wool rubbish to totally fail(often, not long). Each time a supergrain sprouts in a soil that has inadequate nutrients the seeds have LESS nutrients(mostly rare minerals: cobalt/selenium etc.) than the ones before UNLESS you 1) just buy them from the dealer in which case they are probably deliberately sterile anyway; or 2) you add the nutrients to the soil which requires an industrial country. So, in fast breeding 3rd world countries the supergrains are virtually stripping the once arable farmland of resources and when they fail (which they will by the simple law of supply/demand). they BUY western grain to plant which creates another diminishing cycle or another 100 tons of nutrients to add to the soil.
In the west there are two main factors pushing the famine scenario:
      1) the elimination of small seed companies by the bigger ones who then drop all but the profitable lines and remove all strains they see as economically useless despite the fact that many of these variants are the ONLY ones that grow in certain conditions. Some put this at 70-80% of strains while not quite extinct, are virtually unobtainable unless you visit seed banks in distant icy islands. I add here that not a few of the seed companies push sterile seeds at cheaper prices so that you have to keep buying them.
      2) there is a marked loss of arable land in the west due to population growth and as expected, well watered farms are desirable purchases for developers (nice lawns). I visited the area where I once lived . There had been over 100 farms there . Now there are about 4 left, a couple of vineyards and masses of housing estates all with nice gardens. Can’t survive on a diet of grapes, carnations and roses.
We are living on the assumption that there is enough food and that there will continue to be enough…only an idiot believes that.
If you think that the invasion of Europe now is bad wait until the supergrains fail as “long pig” will be back on the menu with a vengeance.

      • I agree with everything you write.

        1) MONSANTO.

        2) Same here. I’ve seen all rich agricultural lands being sold to developers through zone changes where only the trees around and the developers could contest the zoning changes (corrupt mayors).

At times, those good agricultural lands don’t need irrigation because they’re on high phreatic tables. The soil never dries out. How to explain they build housing projects in such areas that end up flooding in April up to July?

        • A nice example and the classical one of absence of just one nutrient occurred in South Australia where cows just suddenly dropped dead on just one property. It took quite some time to rule out the usual suspects(disease, poison, etc.) but it was an agricultural biochemist who discovered the cause. the soil on the property had absolute NO cobalt whatsoever, not even in trace form. Now the daily amount of cobalt required by a human is IIRC 5mcg so they simply added that to grain supplement and that was that. I initially jumped to the conclusion that it was just pernicious anaemia but it was not although had they lived long enough that would have occurred eventually. Trace Co is required by the heart’s innervation and hence the sudden death.

  7. Vegetarian patty gets the Burger King Whopper test

(Reuters) – Vegetarian burgers may finally be getting the recognition they need to go main stream. On Monday Burger King and Silicon Valley startup Impossible Foods announced the roll-out of the Impossible Whopper in 59 stores in and around St. Louis, Missouri.

To mark the launch on April Fool’s day, the burger giant released a hidden-camera-style promo video showing the serving of plant-based Whoppers instead of meat to customers who marvel that they cannot tell the difference.

    • The only burgers I buy are the veggie President’s Choice Thick and Juicy Portobello Swiss (20% calcium, 15% iron).

I’ve served them to friends without telling them they’re veggie. Only after a few bites and ”Oh, how delicious…”, do I tell them the truth. Without fail, they’re all very surprised and impressed. They end up buying the product.

The only meat I eat is game meat (bison, wapiti, deer, and once in the odd while caribou. Once you’ve started that, you don’t go back to commercial tasteless meat.

  8. Supercars exempt as first emissions charge in London hits low income drivers hardest (telegraph, Apr 1, 2019)
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/03/31/supercars-exempt-first-emissions-charge-london-hits-low-income/

“Britain’s first daily emissions charge which targets the worst polluting vehicles will punish families disproportionately, critics have claimed, as they added wealthy motorists will avoid paying.

From April 8 drivers who travel into central London face a £12.50 charge, on top of the congestion levy, if their cars and vans do not meet emission standards regulated by the European Union.

While popular family models including ‘eco-branded’ versions of the Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio and Vauxhall Astra will be subject to the charge, expensive supercars such as the Lamborghini Aventador and Aston Martin DB11 will be exempt.

Motorists who drive diesel vehicles manufactured before 2015 will bear the brunt of the toll, which caused anger among motoring groups who claimed millions were “misled” into switching their petrol models during Gordon Brown’s so-called “dash for diesel” while he was Chancellor.

Critics have argued the policy, introduced by Transport for London as the first of its kind in the world, unfairly punishes lower income households, with nurses and care workers claiming they will be among those hit hardest by the charge.

The Mayor’s office said the scheme is designed to improve air quality in the capital, which was described as a “public health emergency”.

The scheme is set to cover central London before expanding across the capital in 2021. TfL estimates that the enlarged zone could affect up to 100,000 cars and 35,000 vans. A change.org petition to stop ULEZ spreading into the suburbs has gained more than 77,000 signatures.

Jenny Bates, from Friends of the Earth, said tougher measures from the Government and Mayor are also needed to encourage people to move away from the worst climate-wrecking vehicles.”

In 2015, the AA warned up to 11 million motorists who bought diesel cars during the last Labour government would feel betrayed after the Supreme Court ruled the Government needed to take urgent steps to tackle air pollution in cities.”

  9. Sen. Graham: AG Barr upset with Clinton emails handling, could reopen probe

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) suggests the Department of Justice could reopen a probe into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Senator Graham, speaking with Fox News on Sunday, said U.S. Attorney General William Barr was “pretty upset” with the handling of Clinton’s scandal by former President Barrack Obama’s DOJ. In addition, he said he hopes Barr will now appoint a special counsel to look into the matter.

Graham’s remarks follow calls for an independent probe into the origins of the since-debunked “Russia hoax,” at President Trump’s urging.

Clinton, as well as other top Obama officials, the Senator also suggested, could have been involved in “criminal misbehavior” with FISA warrant abuses, and spying on the Trump 2016 Presidential Campaign.

BEIJING (Reuters) – Developed Western nations have long-term economic, technological and military advantages over China and the Communist Party has to realize that some people will use the West’s strong points to criticize socialism’s failings, President Xi Jinping said.

Since assuming power in China more than six years ago, Xi has ramped up efforts to ensure total party loyalty and discipline, including a sweeping crackdown on corruption, warning the party’s very survival is at stake.

This year, which is marked by a series of sensitive anniversaries including three decades since the bloody crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators in and around Tiananmen Square, has seen a further increase in calls for party loyalty.

  16. Belgium: March in Brussels after parliament blocks climate law

Hundreds took to the streets of Brussels on Sunday to demand action on climate change after the parliament blocked a new climate law.

Students led the march with banners calling for a climate strike. Protesters wearing yellow vests also took to the streets of the Belgian capital.

Minor skirmishes erupted between protesters and police forces. No arrests were reported.

On March 29, the Federal Parliament voted down an amendment that would allow the passage of a proposed climate law. The change would have forced the Belgian government to adhere to commitments made under the United Nations Framework on Climate Change.

  17. Algeria: Protesters hit Algiers as Bouteflika appoints new government

Hundreds of protesters flooded Algiers on Monday, after President Abdelaziz Bouteflika announced major government changes, as Algerian television reported on Sunday.

People were seen marching in the streets and chanting, holding Algerian flags. The protest continued in a city tunnel as the demonstrators reportedly tried to hide from rain.

According to reports, 21 out of 27 ministers have been changed.

The protesters are taking a stand after the country’s president announced that he would withdraw his bid for a fifth term in office but stopped short of stepping down, delaying the country’s presidential elections slated for April 18.

Bouteflika’s announcement came following weeks of mass demonstrations against his re-election bid and alleged plans to extend his 20-year rule.

  18. France: Evicted migrants in Calais denounce police violence

Migrants from Calais’s refugee camps and local residents stood together to show support for those evicted from the makeshift encampments and denounce police towards the migrants.

At Sunday’s rally some migrants gave personal testimony of abuses suffered at the hands of the authorities.

“Police go inside and beat people. After sometimes some people would die, some people had big accidents,” said Lina, a migrant from Eritrea.

She said migrants like her, hoping to enter the United Kingdom via Channel Tunnel by stowing away on lorries, ferries, cares or trains, lived with the constant danger of being sent back to their home countries, where they face possible persecution.

For Sherif, another migrant from Eritrea, life in Calais is getting harder. “They close everything, they move us and they don’t care because when the police take us to the prison, they make us to stay two days or three days,” Sherif said in an interview.

One Nigerian migrant, Lido Ken, said police were “very violent” with migrants. “They normally beat us, spray us and [throw us] tear gas. Some of us get injuries and some of us die,” Lido added.

Since the late 1990s, migrants in Calais have slept in outdoor camps known as ‘jungles’. These were repeatedly raided or bulldozed by police before cropping up elsewhere.

  20. MEMRI -Egyptian Islamist: Real Holocaust was When Coalition Forces Captured Last ISIS Stronghold

Turkey-based Egyptian Islamist Wagdi Ghoneim said in a video he uploaded to his YouTube channel on March 28, 2019 that the real holocaust occurred when the SDF and the coalition forces captured that last ISIS stronghold of Al-Baghuz – unlike when the Germans killed “we-don’t-know-how-many” Jews.

He said that the American-led coalition were “Crusaders” joined by the “criminals” of the Syrian Democratic Forces and that the coalition treated the people of Al-Baghuz, including women and children, very poorly and attacked them with weapons of all sorts.

  21. MEMRI – Egyptian-German Scholar Hamed Abdel-Samad in Scathing Criticism of the European Left

Egyptian-German scholar Hamed Abdel-Samad slammed the European left for its political correctness, saying that while historically, the left has always defended the underdog, when it comes to Islam, it “morphs into the conservative right” and employs “racism of low expectations.”

In the March 25 episode of his weekly “Box of Islam” Internet show, Abdel-Samad said that while the leftists “embrace and defend anything that is anti-West,” they view Muslims as barbaric savages and keep them marginalized.

Even when a terrorist leaves a message citing the Prophet Muhammad and the Quran as the reason for his actions, “it’s to no avail. The left has him pegged as a victim,” he said.

“That’s pure racism. It means that they do not see Muslims or Africans as people, responsible for their own lives.”

MANILA (Reuters) – The Philippines has filed a diplomatic protest over the presence of more than 200 Chinese boats near an island occupied by Manila in the disputed South China Sea, the president’s spokesman said on Monday.

President Rodrigo Duterte has pursued warmer ties with China since taking office in 2016 in exchange for billions of dollars of pledged loans and investment.

The Department of Foreign Affairs protested against the vessels near the Philippines-occupied Thitu island, presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo told a regular news conference, without describing the boats. The Chinese ambassador said they were fishing boats.

  25. SHOCK as legal challenged LAUNCHED asking if the UK did actually LEAVE the EU on Friday?!

In an absolutely stunning turn of events Chairman of The English Democrats Robin Tilbrook and well known activist Graham Moore feel that they have unearthed a revelation that could turn the whole Brexit process on it’s head.

One of our readers has just communicated the following message to Unity News:

In essence this seems to be the case:

Withdrawal 2017 is about exit, withdrawal act 2018 is about the implementation not leaving and she changed the date in the implementation act not the leaving act. May could not legally ask for an extension, because there was not law in place to allow an extension.

The Gina Miller case said because of the 1972 act exists she needed power to act hence the 2017 act therefore logic states because the 2017 act exists she needs new power to extend which would be a change to that act or another complete act of parliament.

The 2018 has no power due to the fact it does not come into force until the implementation period begins. So it looks like she has altered the wrong withdrawal act.

    • Germany: UK must hold EU elections if Brexit extended past April 12 – Juncker

President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said that the UK would have to participate in European parliament elections if it comes to a further extension of Brexit deadlines, while addressing a special session of the Saarland state parliament in Saarbrucken, Germany on Monday.

Juncker said that “if the British haven’t left by the 12th of April and it comes to an extension then Great Britain has to take part in the European elections, that is the agreement.”

“Whether I want that is a different question though,” he added.

The EU granted the UK an extension to the Brexit process on March 21, offering the UK the choice of leaving the EU on May 22, subject to Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit deal being approved by Parliament, or leaving on April 12 if the deal was rejected again.

Last week May’s deal was voted down for a third time and a series of indicative votes failed to achieve a majority for any alternative options.

Juncker’s comments reiterated the position made clear by other senior EU figures that if the UK was to seek a longer delay to the Brexit process it would be obliged by law to take part in European parliamentary elections.

“Never seen that before,” said Gowdy, who served on the intelligence panel before leaving Congress in January. “We never voted to remove or ask a chairperson to step down.”

“Adam is a deeply partisan person. He did everything he could to make sure Hillary Clinton became president. And he’s done everything he could to keep a cloud over the Trump presidency,” Gowdy said of Schiff.

  30. The deadly Messer attack in Chemnitz and the following riots have shaken Germany. Now the deed is worked up in a process. VIP News was able to view confidential investigation files and shows now in a series previously unknown details and backgrounds. Part 1: The criminal and asylum file of the main fugitive Farhad A., who stabbed a man in 2017. When attacking Daniel H. in August 2018, he should not have been in Germany at all.

You could spend hours reading in his police file. The 22-year-old Iraqi Farhad A., last known registration address “09235 Burkhardtsdorf, asylum accommodation” in Saxony, has a thick criminal record. And that, even though he only lived in Germany for two and a half years.

More than a dozen acts are listed in the folder: assault, drug trafficking, theft, trespassing, property damage, insult, threat, resistance to law enforcement officials, to name but a few. A case of dangerous bodily injury is also on the list – at least until now unknown to the public. At the beginning of 2017, Farhad A. is said to have attacked and injured a Syrian with a knife.

  31. March 31 2019 – CBC – Radio-Pravda – Bob Woodward/Trump Interview in Quebec, Montreal (FR/ENG)

    • BREITBART – Pope Francis Disses Trump’s Wall, Compares Populists to Hitler

Pope Francis used strong language to condemn populism Sunday, suggesting that it gains followers through fear as Hitler did in the 1930s.

“I see that many people of good will, not only Catholics, are a bit gripped by fear, which is the usual message of populism,” the pope told reporters aboard the papal plane returning from Morocco to Rome.

“They sow fear and then make decisions. Fear is the beginning of dictatorships,” he said. “Let’s go back to the last century, to the fall of the Weimar Republic. I repeat this a lot. Germany needed a way out and, with promises and fears, Hitler came forward.”

“We know the result. Let’s learn from history, this is not new: To sow fear is to make a harvest of cruelty, closures, and even sterility,” he said.

Francis also took issue with President Trump’s border wall and other border fencing going up in the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla. Asked specifically about these two walls, the pope warned that “builders of walls, whether they are of razor-wire or brick, will become prisoners of the walls they build. That’s history.”

We have seen that “we need bridges and we feel pain when we see people who prefer to build walls,” he said.

“Those who build bridges, on the other hand, will go far. Building bridges for me is something almost superhuman, it takes a very great effort,” he said.

“Walls, however, are against communication, they are for isolation and those who build them will become prisoners,” he said.

The pope said that a Spanish reporter had interviewed him and showed him a piece of the razor wire.

“I’ll tell you sincerely, I was moved,” Francis said. “Then, when he left, I cried. I cried because I can’t get my heart and my head around so much cruelty. I also can’t get my heart and my head around watching people drown in the Mediterranean, or the closing of ports.”

“This isn’t the way to solve the grave problem of immigration. I understand, a government with this problem has a ‘hot potato’ that needs to be resolved in another way,” he said.

“I once spoke to a politician, a man that I respect and I will say the name: Alexis Tsipras,” he said. “And speaking of this and the accords not to let [migrants] in, he explained the difficulties to me, but in the end, he spoke to me from the heart and said this phrase: ‘human rights take precedence over agreements.’”

“This sentence deserves the Nobel Prize,” Francis said.

    • Pope on the plane: Religious freedom will also grow in Islam

That’s it! This senile old beskirted basket case clearly is not in possession of his faculties. Islam has had over a thousand years to discover “Religious freedom” and has done nothing but ensure the exact opposite.

Catholics around the world who have even the slightest knowledge of history must be cringing with embarrassment.

If there’s one lesson Islam can teach the Vatican’s flock, it’s how all it takes is a “tiny minority” that’s committed to destroying the West for pure havoc all around.

  32. UK – Taxman kept quiet while £8bn fraud helped fund bin Laden

For years a UK gang infiltrated government agencies and funnelled cash to al-Qaeda. HMRC knew but kept MI5 in the dark

Gangsters have stolen billions of pounds of British taxpayers’ money and used tens of millions to fund terrorism, according to police and intelligence files.

A network of British Asians based in London, Buckinghamshire, Birmingham, northwest England and Scotland mounted VAT and benefit frauds against the exchequer over two decades and made further gains from mortgage and credit card fraud targeting banks and individuals. The group netted an estimated £8bn in public money alone.

The gang, which has links to the 7/7 London bombings in which 52 people died, is alleged to have sent 1% of its gains, or £80m, to al-Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where it funded madrasahs, training camps and other terrorist activities, according to the leaked files.

    ===========================================================
BREITBART – Report: Gang Stole BILLIONS from UK Taxpayers, Infiltrated Govt, Funded al-Qaeda and Labour

A vast network of British Asian gang members linked to Abu Hamza and the 7/7 bombers infiltrated government agencies, defrauded taxpayers of billions of pounds, and funnelled tens of millions to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda over 20 years, an investigation claims to have found.

The report suggests that, through a complex series of tactics, including exploitation of illegal immigration, benefits fraud, VAT fraud, and mortgage fraud, the gang managed to steal an astonishing £8 billion.

These funds were allegedly used to provide lavish lifestyles for the gang’s members, including luxury cars and properties — but also helped bankroll Osama bin Laden’s notorious al-Qaeda network, claims a Sunday Times investigation.

It is believed that £80 million was sent to the jihadists to help them fund their radical Islamic terrorist activities, with a source claiming that “MI5 had information that the ultimate destination for some of the money was Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad.”

The report indicated that investigators had found “20 potential internal fraud cases including (gang) members in government agencies” in one company alone, and that “infiltration was widespread”.

The level of infiltration may have run throughout Government, with an internal report by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) claiming that “There are numerous [gang] members involved in think tanks and business forums which bring them into contact with senior British politicians.”

“I myself have seen one member shoulder to shoulder with Tony Blair on at least two occasions following the war in Iraq,” the writer added — although the Sunday Times notes that there is “no suggestion that Blair was aware of the alleged crimes.”

It is claimed that “thousands” of pounds were donated to the then-governing Labour Party by the gang.

The gang members are also believed to have associated with hate preacher Abu Hamza and Shehzad Tanweer, one of the 7/7 bombers.

Reports of suspicious activities and fraud were reportedly documented multiple times by HMRC, with at least four HMRC officers imploring their bosses to take action.

However the issues were allegedly not pursued, “due to their complicated nature and a lack of resources”.

One investigator was said to have been ready to meet with the security services but prevented from doing so by his superiors, as HMRC didn’t want to breach the tax confidentiality of the terror suspects, and the reports suggest it was not until after the 7/7 bombings that senior HMRC officials decided to take action.

HMRC insisted it “can, has always, and does” pass information to security agencies, regardless of any confidentiality issues, in comments to MailOnline.

DAILY MAIL Gangsters with links to the 7/7 London bombings stole £8billion from British taxpayers in 20-year fraud before funnelling cash to Pakistan to support Osama Bin Laden

Gangsters stole billions via VAT fraud, benefit fraud, credit card and mortgage fraud over 20 years including £8bn directly from UK taxpayers, files show

They channelled £80 million to Al Qaeda terror operations and Osama Bin Laden

HMRC were tracking associates of 7/7 bomber two years before deadly strike

Court orders prevent reporting of names and details because prosecutors claim ringleaders’ trials could be jeopardised – but they fled to Middle East years ago

Gang was so hard to infiltrate, investigators tied a camera to a dog to get photos

Criminals ‘infiltrated government agencies and the Post Office’ to create fake IDs

A network of fraudsters stole billions of pounds from taxpayers in a 20-year crime spree on an industrial scale, funneling tens of millions to terrorists including Osama Bin Laden, according to police and intelligence files.

An investigation by The Sunday Times has revealed how a sprawling gang of British Asians infiltrated government departments, associated with Abu Hamza and one of the 7/7 bombers, bought Ferraris with personalised plates and cosied up to politicians including Tony Blair – all while keeping their operations so secretive investigators had to resort to tying a camera to a dog to glean intelligence from inside one of their factories.

The files show four HMRC investigators pleaded with bosses to prosecute the crimelords but were rebuffed – and one claims he was prevented from sharing HMRC data with MI5 because the Revenue wanted to maintain the confidentiality of the terror suspects’ tax records.

HMRC told MailOnline it ‘can, has always, and does’ pass information on to intelligence agencies ‘within minutes if necessary’ and that confidentiality ‘doesn’t come into it’.

An estimated £8bn was stolen from the taxpayer through scams including benefit fraud and a massive VAT swindle. The sum, equivalent to the GDP of Kyrgystan or Kosovo, is three times as much as the Government spends on MI5, MI6 and GCHQ each year.

The gang is alleged to have sent one per cent of the money – £80 million – to al-Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where it was spent on madrasas and terrorist training camps. MI5 sources say prior to his death in 2011 some of the money had reached Osama Bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan

The true scale of the gang’s profits, augmented by mortgage fraud, credit card fraud, and investments of the stolen cash, is unknown.

Some members of the syndicate have received and in some cases even finished jail terms – of a combined 100 years for frauds worth £100m – since the crimes first came to light in 1995, but the public has been prevented from hearing about the case or the identities of the wrongdoers by court orders.

The Crown Prosecution Service insists reporting might prejudice potential trials of the gang’s ringleaders – despite the fact the kingpins fled the country years ago and are believed to be in hiding in the Middle East.

Last night Meg Hillier, chairwoman of the public accounts committee, told the Sunday Times said she would consider launching a parliamentary inquiry and would question Sir Mark Sedwill, the cabinet secretary and national security adviser to the prime minister, tomorrow.

    • Authorities first became aware of the schemes in 1995 when an English rural force heard from an extremely frightened’ source that gang members were perpetrating mortgage fraud with ‘carrier bags full of cash’ using false identities, with the help of corrupt bankers.

A four-year investigation by the Inland Revenue pooled intelligence from tax, customs, police, immigration and trading standards and put suspects under surveillance.

It concluded that the gang was using a network of factories and companies and exploiting their workers for identity and benefit frauds, the sale of counterfeit goods, car crash scams and mortgage and credit card frauds.

HMRC found the gang used ‘hijacked or altered national insurance numbers to create false records’ and exploited ‘illegal immigrant labour’ before laundering the cash ‘through bogus offshore companies’.

An undercover HMRC officer reported that hook-handed cleric Abu Hamza recruited young Muslims to work for the crime syndicate in the late 1990s, years before he became infamous as an al-Qaeda recruiter.

A source said the factories which employed those workers Hamza recruited had extra staff who ‘were ghosts claiming benefits and having car crashes’.

The source added: ‘A factory of 180 workers only had 120 physical workers. The rest were identity frauds with all proceeds going back to the owners of the companies. This generated around £20,000 a week in benefit claims alone.’

But the gang proved extremely difficult to penetrate, the report says. Undercover agents eventually resorted to attaching a camera to a dog and encouraging it to run around inside one of the network’s factories just to find out how many people actually worked there.

The gang’s biggest money-maker was so-called ‘carousel fraud’, a complex and industrial-scale swindle in which four companies, two in the UK and two in the EU, ‘sell’ goods to each other with some of the firms ‘reclaiming’ VAT from the British government, while others never pay the VAT bill they rack up (see box).

Investigators concluded the gang had gained more than £1 billion from illegitimate VAT rebates in a single postcode area.

A major break in the case came in the months after 9/11 when, on abandoned laptops found by the CIA in mountains on the Afghan/Pakistan border, intelligence officers discovered al-Qaeda’s money was coming in part from an accountant in an English town.

He was a major player in the network, which afforded its ringleaders UK properties and supercars with personalised plates, all at the taxpayer’s expense.

For years HMRC and other agencies did little to disrupt the network, taking almost no formal enforcement action. The files show that at least four rank-and-file HMRC intelligence officers implored their bosses to launch prosecutions. Their requests were rejected ‘due to their complicated nature and a lack of resources’.

When the 9/11 attacks occurred in 2001, one official warned HMRC chiefs that he had ‘basic information’ that would be of great interest to MI5.

Internal files seen by The Sunday Times show the officer said he was ‘ready to meet someone from the intelligence services’ with the ‘mountains of information available to us’ that had ‘taken on a whole new significance’ after the attacks on New York and the Pentagon.

‘Officers and, increasingly, their direct management have become frustrated at the lack of action,’ wrote the officer. His request was refused because HMRC was worried about preserving the taxpayer confidentiality of the terror suspects.

An HMRC spokesman told MailOnline today: ‘HMRC can, has always, and does pass information (within minutes if necessary) to other law enforcement agencies and the intelligence services when dealing with serious crime or terrorism – taxpayer confidentiality doesn’t come into it.

‘HMRC takes its critical role in the fight against serious organised crime and terrorism very seriously. We work side-by-side with the intelligence services, law enforcement partners, and across Government, to break up criminal gangs and disrupt terror funding.

‘In 2017-18 alone, we collected and protected more than £3.3 billion through our work fighting organised crime, and have brought more than 880 organised criminals to justice since 2010.’

The report found widespread infiltration of government agencies, to obtain false identities and ‘sensitive information’. From one company investigators found ’20 potential internal fraud cases including [gang] members in government agencies’, one intelligence summary said. Another said two Post Office employees seemed to be helping falsify documents, concluding: ‘infiltration is widespread’.

Thousands were given by the gang to the then-ruling Labour Party. An internal HMRC report said: ‘There are numerous [gang] members involved in think tanks and business forums which bring them into contact with senior British politicians.

‘I myself have seen one member shoulder to shoulder with Tony Blair on at least two occasions following the war in Iraq.’

The files also show that the gang enjoyed links with a top politician in Pakistan. There is no suggestion that Blair was aware of the alleged crimes.

HMRC intelligence officers also identified the gang’s links to Shehzad Tanweer, a terrorist involved in the 7/7 London bombings in 2005 which killed 52 people, at least two years before the attack.

Associates of Tanweer, who who detonated a bomb while travelling eastbound on the Circle Line between Liverpool Street and Aldgate, killing himself and seven others., were suspected of ‘multi-identity fraud, phoenix trading, tax evasion, tax credit fraud and money laundering’, according to the files.

Many suspects identified by the 1990s investigation were prosecuted, with second-tier members of the gang charged with carousel fraud and money laundering.

In the course of cross-checking HMRC files with secret MI5 intelligence, the CPS found the ‘jaw-dropping’ link, a source told the paper; that ‘MI5 had information that the ultimate destination for some of the money was Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad.’

However, senior HMRC officials declined to use the intelligence to mount prosecutions and take the gang out of operation until after the bombings.

How to steal a billion pounds: Identity fraud, benefit fraud, mortgage fraud and credit card fraud

The gang also engaged in identity fraud, and then profited from those fake IDs to rip off credit card firms, banks, the taxman and the NHS.

      ID fraud

      1. Gang member infiltrates benefits agency

      2. Obtains NI numbers issued to children

      3. Passes to factory owner to create ‘ghost’ workers

      Benefit fraud

The fictional person – the ‘ghost’ – alleged to be working in the factory can then claim: working tax credit to top up part-time earnings; housing benefit; and once they have obtained an NHS number can sell it to foreigners needing care.

      Mortgage fraud

The ‘ghost’ can buy a house and have a corrupt valuer increase its value, perhaps after falsified ‘renovations’. then the criminals obtain a 95 per cent loan against the property in the name of the ghost, using a corrupt agent. After the ghost fails to make payments, the property is repossessed and auctioned. Repeat.

      Credit card fraud

With access to an empty property, the criminals used false identities to submit multiple credit card application at once. When the cards arrived, they spent up to the limit, sold on the goods they bought, and never paid the bills.

  33. Report: German military is purging right-wing populists from its ranks

For a long time now, the German military has always made a conscious attempt rid its ranks of soldiers who harbor neo-Nazi sympathies. However, recent claims made by a number of prominent German news outlets suggest that the military is now targeting soldiers who merely support the national populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) for expulsion too.

Numerous investigations have professed that the Bundeswehr has now started to broaden the range of individuals who it considers “not fit to serve in the armed forces” which have encompassed “sympathizers of Alternative for Germany (AfD) and of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán,” according to Il Giornale.

According to Der Spiegel, a German weekly news magazine, about 64 of the discharged soldiers were members of the anti-mass migration youth movement Generation Identity.

Former civil rights organization, the ACLU, currently run as a Dem lobby, is vowing to spend millions of dollars on the 2020 election.

Its signature issue will be having murderers and rapists vote while in prison.

Every lefty idea, no matter how crazy, gets immediately mainlined by the Dem establishment. Abolish private health insurance? Sure. Ban cows and planes? Why not. Let serial killers serving life sentences vote? They’ll vote for Democrats so it’s a no-brainer.

It’s encouraging pro-crime supporters to ask 2020 Dems questions like, “If you become President, would you commit to cutting the federal prison population in half by the end of your first term, and how would you achieve that?”

And, ” Would you commit to cutting ICE [and Border Patrol’s] budgets”.

  35. Hold Hillary Accountable for Russiagate Hoax
Once again, Hillary Clinton got away with it.
    April 1, 2019
    Daniel Greenfield

After the Mueller report plopped with a wet thud on the media, everyone is blaming everyone else.

MSNBC and CNN are blaming the fake experts they invited on and interviewed night after night, urging them to make outlandish predictions that Mueller would soon have Trump locked up for treason. Like Inspector Renault, they’re shocked that the baseless claims they had been repeating were nonsense. And a few of the experts who turned it up to 11 will no longer be invited into media green rooms.

Meanwhile the politicians are blaming the media, even though Rep. Adam Schiff, Rep. Maxine Waters, Rep. Jerry Nadler, Rep Ted Lieu, and many other political reps were every bit as bad as the ‘experts’. Some, like Schiff, are doubling down and will go on investigating Russian collusion until the media stops inviting them on morning shows to discuss the nothing that they found last week and the week before.

Oddly, no one is blaming the political arsonist who started the dumpster fire that is Russiagate.

The Russian conspiracy theory was invented by the Clinton campaign. It was used as a pretext for spying on Trump associates. And then became an argument for invalidating the results of the 2016 election.

And while the Republicans and Democrats tore each other apart over Russiagate, Hillary Clinton sipped her chardonnays and spent the evenings cackling madly at the TV while watching Washington D.C. burn.

  36. Ilhan Omar: “To Me, the Hijab Means Power, Liberation, Beauty, and Resistance”
What do the Muslim women who are forced to wear it think of that?
    April 1, 2019
    Robert Spencer

Vogue Arabia on Thursday published a glowing puff piece fawning over Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar, who has, said Vogue, “made history in her adopted country,” apparently while hating every minute of it. Life in Trump’s America, she said, is “an everyday assault”; she did not, however, say anything about moving back to that paradise of multiculturalism, her native Somalia. Instead, she is bringing it here, at least in one aspect of Sharia observance: “To me,” she said, “the hijab means power, liberation, beauty, and resistance.” What would the innumerable victims of the hijab say to that?

Omar said nothing about them. Instead, she painted the hijab as if it were entirely a matter of each woman’s free choice: “For me, that is how I raise my kids. I work to remove obstacles so they can live at their best and happiest selves. If that translates to adapting the hijab, that’s fine. If they don’t, that’s also fine. They have freedom of choice. Society tends to place lots of limitations, depending on what gender you are. I want my kids to be free. Walk in your own path. We are as much worthy of joy, power, and pleasure as the next human. We are deserving and we don’t need permission or an invitation to exist and to step into our power.”

Maybe she doesn’t. But what does Ilhan Omar think about Aqsa Parvez, whose Muslim father
