Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

  1. Dozens of rockets fired toward southern Israel

    Dozens of rockets have been fired in the past few hours from Gaza toward Israeli communities in the Gaza envelope, even after reports of a ceasefire with Hamas.

    After midnight on Monday, the Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted at least one rocket.

    At approximately 1:00 a.m., a barrage was fired at the Eshkol Regional Council. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, up until 10:00 p.m., approximately 30 launches were identified from the Gaza Strip towards Israel.

    The IDF Iron Dome Aerial Defense System intercepted several launches. The vast majority of the launches which weren’t intercepted fell in open areas.

    On Monday evening, a home in Sderot was hit by a rocket that did not explode. No one was hurt. The IDF continues to attack targets in Gaza, including destroying the office of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on Monday evening.

    Meanwhile, New Right chairman and Education Minister Naftali Bennett warned Netanyahu on Monday evening against a ceasefire, saying that “a ceasefire at this moment will be a tailwind for terrorism.”

    “There is no country in the world that does not charge a price for missiles on its citizens, and there is no country in the world where the blood of citizens is cheap, as we have been experiencing in the past few days. Bombing empty buildings endangers Israel’s deterrence and brings the next missiles upon us,” said Bennett.

          For the last year conditions have been TERRIBLE. Half the kids are suffering symptoms of PTSD. If this was happening in Tel Aviv, it wouldn’t be tolerated. The south, the “Gaza Envelope”, gets FRIED.

          I appreciate Bibi’s diplomacy, making nice with African cannibals and duplicitous ragheads. It’s imperative to diversify, away from Europe to markets and allies in India and beyond. For what it’s worth, the Ragheads are temporary co-belligerents against the Twisted-Ragheads.

          I celebrate Israel’s explosive emergence from a socialist basket case. No longer dependent on charity from assimilated Jew-ish Americans.

          But times like this I say F- Tel Aviv! F- the “Startup Nation”! Devote resources and attention to the less-privileged who live in this region. They’re holding the fort!

          It’s only frontier country because despicable politicians threw Gaza away like cavalier feudal lords.

          I’m so SICK of politicians.

    The old Soviet KGB campaign is alive and revived in the current US Congress, its influence is felt on campus and its main focus is getting Americans to fight other Americans.

    …When you hear the new radicals of the Democratic Party bang on against their own country and its leaders, when they adopt the propaganda of radical regimes, when we hear allegations against Israel couched in anti-Semitic terms, you can be sure that they are ideologically colluding with the ghost of the Soviet KGB.

    To quote former KGB chairman, Yuri Andropov, in a conversation he had with General Ion Mihai Pacepa, the highest ranking defector from the former Soviet Union to the United States in 1978:

    “We could nurture a virulent strain of American-hatred, grown from the bacteria of Marxist-Leninist thought…We have only to keep repeating our themes that the United States and Israel were ‘fascist, Imperial-Zionist countries bankrolled by rich Jews.”

    “Canadian clinical psychologist and self-described “professor against political correctness” Jordan Peterson has already slammed the University of Cambridge over its decision to rescind his visiting fellowship as “a serious error of judgement”.

    Cambridge University Vice-Chancellor Stephen Toope said on Sunday that a two-month fellowship offer to Jordan Peterson was withdrawn “as a consequence” of the institution becoming aware of an image in which the psychology professor is pictured with a man wearing an “I’m a proud Islamophobe” shirt last month.

    “The faculty became aware of a photograph of Professor Peterson posing with his arm around a man wearing a T-shirt that clearly bore the slogan ‘I’m a proud Islamophobe’”, Toope stated.

    The Faculty of Divinity found out about the photo last week, which was perceived to be in direct opposition to its work, Toope said.

    “The casual endorsement by association of this message was thought to be antithetical to the work of a faculty that prides itself in the advancement of inter-faith understanding. Some difficult decisions will always be necessary to ensure that our universities remain places of robust, often challenging and even uncomfortable dialogue, while balancing academic freedom with respect for members of our community”, Professor Toope continued.

    Reacting to Toope’s reasoning, Peterson shared an article, entitled “Why is Cambridge Afraid of Jordan Peterson?”, with his own comment on what might be behind the drastic decision:

    Toope’s statement has angered social media users, who took to Twitter to support the Toronto professor and blast the decision as ridiculous:

    Once news of the rescindment was made public last week, Peterson came up with a lengthy response, in which he brutally blasted the university for the move.

    “I think the Faculty of Divinity made a serious error of judgement in rescinding their offer to me (and I’m speaking about those unnamed persons who made that specific decision). I think they handled publicizing the rescindment in a manner that could hardly have been more narcissistic, self-congratulatory and devious. […] I think that it is no bloody wonder that the faith is declining (and with it, the values of the West, as it fragments) with cowards and mountebanks of the sort who manifested themselves today at the helm”, he wrote.

    These past two weeks haven’t been the best for Peterson: the photo at the epicentre of the Peterson-Cambridge rift taken in Auckland on 21 February prompted a New Zealand bookstore to pull his book, “12 Rules for Life”, from the shelves after an internal email had been sent to staff:

    The “disturbing” content mentioned in the email likely alluded to the photo, which circulated online in the aftermath of the deadly mass shooting in Christchurch mosques.

    Peterson rose to global prominence for his criticism of radical feminism and social justice warriors, as well as his fierce opposition to a law requiring people to use gender-neutral pronouns, which he claimed, infringes on free speech.

    Peterson, a YouTube darling, is the author of a series of lectures called “Professor against political correctness”, where he contends that “there’s a difference between saying something you can’t say and saying that there are things that you have to say”.”

    “The European Parliament voted on Tuesday in favour of a proposed directive on copyright rules for the digital market.

    Those who oppose the reform have been qualifying it as the introduction of “censorship” and “hyperlink duties”.

    The European Parliament adopted the proposal, mulled since 2016, with 348 votes in favour and 274 against.

    Under the directive, online services will be obliged to share income with authors, composers, filmmakers, and other creators. Online platforms will also be responsible for filtering out content published in breach of copyright law.

    The text now has to be formally approved by the Council of the European Union.”

    “Continuous heavy artillery fire exchanges have been commonplace since the two countries drew on their air forces to showcase their air power in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack in February, which killed over 40 Indian soldiers.

    New Delhi (Sputnik): The border patrol forces from India and Pakistan have exchanged heavy fire and shelling along the border near the Rajouri sector of the India state of Jammu and Kashmir.

    As per local officials, a heavy firing of artillery was started by Pakistani forces at about 23.30 hrs local time on Monday night, which continued until Tuesday morning.

    “The heavy mortar shelling and heavy machine gun firing witnessed in the entire Line of Control (LoC) from Doongi Keri to Lam in Rajouri sector. However, there are no reports of any loss of life as of now”, a defence source told Sputnik.

    The cross-border artillery exchanges between the two nuclear neighbours have not stopped since mid-February when a terror attack executed by Pak-based Jaish-e-Mohammed killed 40 Indian soldiers at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir…”

  13. Huddersfield stabbing: Man in his forties found near pub is latest knife crime victim (express, Mar 26, 2019)

    “A MAN in his forties has been found stabbed to death near a pub in Huddersfield.

    A murder investigation has been launched after the man was found unresponsive near the Highgate pub in the early hours of this morning. Roads have been closed in the area as forensic police scour the scene in New Hey Road, in the Oakes area of Huddersfield. Locals said they saw pools of blood near the scene.

    Ashley Day, landlord of the Highgate pub told the Mirror: “The police came banging on my door at 3am saying there had been a stabbing in the pub.

    “But it wasn’t here, it was further down the road.”

    A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A murder enquiry has been launched after police were called at 2:21am this morning (26 March) to reports of a male being stabbed on New Hey Road in Huddersfield.

    “Emergency services attended and the man, in his 40s, was found unresponsive…”

    Several police vehicles have been seen outside an Islington residential building on Holloway Road.

    One passer-by told the Islington Gazette: “There are lots and lots of police cars and ambulances. It looks really serious.”

  15. Former Afghanistan captive Joshua Boyle in court for allegedly assaulting his wife (telegraph, Mar 26, 2019)

    “Joshua Boyle, a former hostage held by a terror group in Afghanistan, has gone on trial in Canada on charges that he repeatedly assaulted his wife.

    Mr Boyle faces 19 charges, including sexual assault. A partial gag order was lifted as the trial started Monday, revealing that all but one of the 19 charges relate to his American wife, Caitlan Coleman of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania.

    Mr Boyle and his wife were taken hostage in 2012 by a the Haqqani network, a Taliban-linked group ,while on a backpacking trip in Afghanistan. The couple had three children during their five years in captivity.

    The family was rescued in 2017 by Pakistani forces, attracting publicity for the dramatic nature of their rescue and the fact they had small children in tow.

    Mr Boyle was arrested in December that year and has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Ms Coleman plans to testify during the case.

    Prosecutor Meaghan Cunningham said Monday she expects Mr Boyle’s lawyers to vigorously challenge the credibility of his spouse as they argue Mr Boyle is innocent of charges he assaulted her.

    Mr Boyle was released from jail last June with strict bail conditions, and was ordered to live with his parents in Smiths Falls, Ontario and wear a GPS ankle bracelet that can track his movements.

    He married Ms Coleman in 2011 during a lengthy trip the pair took to South America.

    The following year, they set off for Russia and travelled through Central Asia for several months, ending up in Afghanistan.

    Mr Boyle explained the couple’s decision to have children while in captivity to the Associated Press, saying: “We’re sitting as hostages with a lot of time on our hands. We always wanted as many as possible, and we didn’t want to waste time. Cait’s in her 30s, the clock is ticking.”

    The family’s dramatic rescue in 2017 made global headlines, and even led to a meeting for the family with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Parliament Hill, about a week before Mr Boyle’s arrest. “

    “The French bishops published a statement Monday on the upcoming European elections, insisting that certain issues such as immigration must be addressed at the multinational level.

    “It is obvious to everyone that some solutions cannot be found at the level of individual nations; such is the issue of migrants,” the bishops declare in their statement. “Pope Francis reminded European leaders: ‘We cannot think of the migratory process as a process without discernment and without rules, but we cannot erect walls of indifference or fear.’”

    The bishops said that the fundamental question for the European elections is not a binary thumbs-up or thumbs-down to the European Union (EU), but rather: “What kind of Europe do we want?”

    “The elections to the European Parliament will soon take place in a difficult context, both at national and European levels,” they state. “To say that Europe does not have good press is a banality: for many of our fellow citizens it seems distant, technocratic, often ineffective.”

    In their statement, the bishops seem to acknowledge recent polls suggesting that many Europeans are deeply critical of Brussels.

    The Pew Research Center released a survey last week noting that the majority of Europeans say that EU leadership is “intrusive, inefficient, and out of touch” with the real needs of citizens.

    While crediting the EU for promoting peace, democratic values, and prosperity, Europeans are unimpressed with the EU’s ability to efficiently deal with concrete problems such as immigration, Pew found, a factor that is sure to influence voters at the upcoming elections to be held on May 23rd.

    There are “strong concerns about immigration in some countries,” the Pew report declares. “Majorities or pluralities in most nations want fewer immigrants allowed into their country. Many believe that immigrants tend to remain distinct from the broader culture and that immigration increases the risk of terrorism.”

    There is a “strong desire” in many countries for less immigration, Pew reported, with more than 70 percent of the population in Greece, Hungary, and Italy saying they favour fewer immigrants.

    The Pew study echoed results from a comprehensive 2018 poll covering all 28 EU states, which revealed that more than three-quarters (78 percent) of EU citizens believe that Europe’s external borders should be better protected.

    That survey also found that a majority of Europeans believe that the influx of immigrants into their respective countries will increase both the crime rate and the threat of terrorism. A majority of citizens (57 percent) said that the arrival of immigrants will change the culture of their countries.

    In Monday’s statement, the French bishops suggest that in preparing for the European elections citizens think beyond their national interests and consider what kind of Europe they want: which “economic, social, cultural, and spiritual model seems best adapted for our continent today.”

    The bishops note that “the powers of the European Parliament have increased over the years” and many European decisions affect the daily lives of citizens.

    They also stress how important the European Union has been for bringing peace to a continent with a history of bloody internecine wars.

    “We have to help European citizens discern the nature of the choices to be made so that Europe can respond more to their expectations but also to its own mission in the evolution of the world,” the bishops conclude.”

    The National Police said Tuesday the busted cell operated from Ceuta, a tiny Spanish enclave in northern Africa.

    The alleged traffickers charged between 1,500 and 4,000 euros ($1,700 to $4,500) for taking the Moroccan migrants across the Straits of Gibraltar in high-speed rubber boats. According to police, a hitman threatened the migrants who dared to ask for a refund if they failed to complete the trip.

    More than 5,500 migrants have reached Spanish shores this year and 121 have died trying to, according to the International Organization for Migration. Last year, a record 57,000 arrived and more than 800 died.”

    “A Turkish employee of the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul appeared in court Tuesday charged with espionage and attempting to overthrow the Turkish government in a case that further frayed ties between the two NATO allies.

    The trial against Metin Topuz, a translator and assistant for the Drug Enforcement Agency at the consulate, opened in Istanbul nearly a year and a half after his arrest in October 2017. He has been held in pre-trial detention since then.

    Topuz is accused of links to U.S.-based Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, who the Turkish government blames for the 2016 coup attempt, and faces a life sentence if convicted…”

    “Turkish authorities say three women and an infant have died after a fiberglass boat carrying migrants to Greece sank off the Turkish coast.

    The coast guard said 11 other migrants were saved in an air and sea search mission launched early Tuesday off the town of Ayvacik, in northwest Canakkale province.

    The privately owned DHA news agency said the boat, carrying 15 migrants from Iran and Afghanistan, was heading to the Greek island of Lesbos. The three women and the infant who died were from Afghanistan, the report said.

    Migrants have been trying to get from Turkey into Greece, which is in the European Union, before heading to more prosperous European nations.

    A 2016 deal between Turkey and the EU significantly curbed numbers but migrants still attempt the perilous journey.”

    More than 4 million commercial robots will be installed in over 50,000 warehouses by 2025, according to a report by ABI Research.

    The 50,000 figure represents a massive expansion of the market from the current situation in which an estimated 4,000 warehouses were found to be using robots in 2018.

    ABI says the rapid rate of adoption will be driven by the need for flexible, efficient, and automated e-commerce fulfillment as same-day delivery becomes the norm.

    Global adoption of warehouse robotics will also be spurred by the increasing affordability and return on investment of a growing variety of infrastructure-light robots as they are an attractive and versatile alternative to traditional fixed mechanical automation or manual operations.

    A South Florida city is being plagued by thousands of poisonous toads.

    Experts say the amphibians are bufo toads, also known as cane toads. Residents in the infested Palm Beach Gardens neighborhood worry toxins secreted by the toads will harm their pets and children.

    News stations broadcast images of the small toads clogging pool filters, hopping en masse across driveways and sidewalks, and lurking in landscaped lawns.

    NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Surveillance cameras in the Bronx caught a brutal assault and robbery of a delivery man by a violent group of attackers.

    Police say the 36-year-old victim was making a delivery for Uber Eats when four men ambushed him and pushed the worker off his bike.

    The group then punched the victim to the ground and allegedly threatened him with a knife before getting away with his electric bike and iPhone.

    Police say the attack happened last month on Feb. 26 in the Mount Eden section near Edward L. Grant Highway.

    Police believe the suspects are all in their late teens.

If we are to have any chance of restoring the Constitution to it original intent and once again being a nation with the rule of law where all people have the same rights and privileges we have investigate, arrest, try and imprison everyone who was involved in using the full force and power of the US Government to try and fix an election so the Democrat Nominee wins the election.

      The actions of the Obama administration to fix the election and the Democrats to stage a soft coup against the duly elected President raise to the level of treason.     “Police have arrested six teenagers after an Islamic centre was ransacked in an attack in which copies of the Qur’an were ripped up and windows smashed.

    The incident happened at the Bahr Academy on Benwell Lane, Newcastle – formerly the set of the children’s TV show Byker Grove – at 9pm on Monday.

    Northumbria police said there was significant damage and have classed it as a hate crime.

    In January, there was a similar break-in and vandalism at the centre. The offenders were never caught.

    In the latest attack, copies of the Qur’an were ripped up and dumped on the floor, and windows were smashed.

    The force said an 18-year-old woman, two 16-year-old boys, two 14-year-old boys and a 14-year-old girl have been arrested and remained in police custody.

    Alan Davison, a neighbourhood inspector, said: “This is a very distressing incident for members of the Bahr Academy, particularly as it is the second break-in this year.

    “Although there is not the same racist graffiti as we saw in the first incident, we are treating this as a hate crime. We are aware of the impact incidents of this nature can have on the community and I want to be clear that this type of behaviour is completely unacceptable.”

    Officers will work with the academy to put measures in place to protect the centre and police will carry out high-visibility patrols.”
