There is no doubt about the veracity of this account since documents have been seen.
On Monday July 9th 2018, several leading French, German and Dutch senior managers were called by EU officials to an urgent meeting.
The meeting was said to be private and those present were informed that Prime Minister May and Chancellor Merkel had reached an Agreement over Brexit. Knowledge of this was attained from the actual transcript of the meeting between May and Merkel.
1) The Agreement was couched in a way to ‘appease’ the Brexit voters.
2) The Agreement would enable May to get rid of those people in her party who were against progress and unity in the EU.
3) Both Merkel and May agreed that the likely course of events would be that UK would re-join the EU in full at some time after the next general election.
4) May agreed to keep as many EU laws and institutions as she could despite the current groundswell of ‘anti-EU hysteria’ in Britain (May’s own words, apparently.)
5) Merkel and May agreed that the only realistic future for the UK was within the EU.
The original Agreement draft was completed in May 2018 in Berlin and then sent to the UK Government Cabinet Office marked ‘Secret’.
NB This Agreement draft was authored in the German Chancellor’s private office.
The Cabinet returned the Agreement draft with suggestions, and there was some to-ing and fro-ing during June 5th 2018.
Private calls between the Prime Minister and Chancellor were made.
The Agreement’s final draft came out late in June 2018. The German Chancellor told Prime Minister May that this was a deal she would support, though there would need to be some more small concessions by the UK to keep the EU happy.
The Chancellor and Prime Minister met in Germany. Merkel had this meeting recorded as a ‘private meeting’ though the Prime Minister was probably unaware of that.
The Chancellor had the transcript of that meeting circulated secretly to EU and key German embassies.
Conclusions
Documents make it quite clear that Prime Minister May was negotiating with Germany, not the EU.
The transcript also makes it clear that the Prime Minister intended to keep all this secret from minsters, especially the Brexit group.
She wants to keep as many EU institutions in UK as intact as possible in order to facilitate an easy return to the EU after 2020.
Chancellor Merkel briefed May on tactics to force Cabinet approval.
The Prime Minister and senior civil servants were working with Germany to stop Brexit or water it down to prevent free trade and the ending of freedom of movement, but to keep cash flowing to the EU.
David Davis was kept in the dark while key EU premiers in France, Holland and Ireland were briefed in full.
Key EU heads were actually briefed in full the day before the Cabinet meeting at Chequers.

The 1937 Grand Pardubice was the last for nearly a decade. The 1938 race was called off following the Munich agreement. Six months later, Hitler was in Prague. Lata’s was one of the first estates to be seized. Her family’s refusal to identify with the Nazi cause had further enraged the occupiers. (Most of the Czechoslovak aristocracy was pro-German.) Almost destitute, she none the less had a good war, helping both the resistance and the liberation. In 1945, she briefly recovered what remained of her property – only for the Communists, who seized power in 1948, to take it away again.
Her home was confiscated, looted and turned into a collective farm. She spent the last 30 years of her life living with two sisters in a tiny forest cottage, without electricity or running water. She was unsteady on her feet by then, after a terrible fall in Pardubice that left her in a coma for a week. She nevertheless devoted most of each day to chopping wood and fetching water. Several visitors noted that Lata often seemed frail and hungry. All agreed that she never complained.

Pedophiles are rebranding themselves as “MAPs” or “Minor Attracted Persons” in an effort to gain acceptance and be included into the LGBT community, according to several reports from LGBT news sites.
According to Urban Dictionary, the blanket term MAP includes infantophiles (infants), pedophiles (pre-pubescent children), hebephiles (pubescent children), and ephebophiles (post-pubescent children). Some MAPs also refer to themselves as NOMAPs or “Non-Offending Minor Attracted Persons”.
These pedophiles seek to be a part of the LGBT+ community, even going so far as to make a “Pride” flag for Gay Pride Month.
The “MAP/NOMAP community” tries to pull at people’s heartstrings by claiming that pedophiles are misunderstood marginalized people, and that as long as their attraction to children is not acted upon — or in some cases when they get permission from the child — that they should not be villainized.
Sites such as “The Prevention Project” claim to be aimed at helping children, posting quotes like the one below, reminiscent of testimonials of struggling gay youth, under headlines like “everyone needs support”.
Many blogs exist on Tumblr showing support for MAPs, claiming that they should be a part of the LGBT community and attempting to create “safe spaces” for these “minor attracted persons”. The blog “Pedophiles about Pedophilia” also presents many sob stories of “marginalized” pedophiles in pretty pastel colors, claiming that they mean no harm and just want to be loved like everyone else as shown in such headlines as “Why Pedophilia And Pedophiles Are Not A Risk To Children”, “Growing Up A Pedophile” and “How I came out as an anti-contact pedophile to the woman I love”.
This name change seems to follow in the liberal trend of rebranding things by giving them more “politically correct” names, but is the next step really normalizing pedophilia?

Amid a seething polemic on what to do with Daesh* terrorists and their family members, psychologist Heidi Wittrup Djup from the Bergen-based Clinic for Crisis Psychology added fuel to the fire by suggesting in a televised debate that not only should “Daesh children” be retrieved immediately, but also that their terrorist parents should be “warmly welcomed”.
“We must protect our children. The most vulnerable we have. These are Norwegian children stranded in camps, and they are in danger. We bring them home to Norway and we need to bring the parents as well. They must be prosecuted by the Norwegian legal system. If Dad wants to join as well, he is warmly welcomed,” Djup said during the live debate on national broadcaster NRK.
Djup’s take sparked outrage on social media, as many Norwegians couldn’t believe their ears and found her recommendations “scary naive”. Some suggested even that Djup needed a psychologist herself.
“If the Daesh dads want to join in, they should be warmly welcome. Yes, you heard right”, blogger Henrik Akselsen, who describes himself as a “resigned liberal”, tweeted.

At the same time, blogger Kristin Nesse Thue suggested that “Daesh brides” were not the same as so-called “German girls”, that is Norwegian women who engaged in romantic relationships with Nazi German soldiers during WWII and were punished after Norway’s liberation — a comparison many people have utilised, urging for empathy.

Norway’s Police Security Service (PST) estimated that around 30 jihadists and about 40 children with Norwegian citizenship are currently outside of the country’s borders. Pakistan Changes Story on Jaish-e-Mohammed Militant Group (sputniknews, Mar 7, 2019)

“Contradicting earlier official statements on the whereabouts of the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Pakistan’s military spokesman now claims that the group does not exist in the country. However, former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf, in an interview on Wednesday, alleged that JeM had attempted to assassinate him twice.
New Delhi (Sputnik): Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed, banned as a terror group in India, has become an Achilles heel for the Pakistani government.
In a major development, Pakistan’s military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor has denied the existence of Jaish-e-Mohammed on Pakistani soil, saying that the outfit has no footprint in the country.
“Jaish-e-Mohammed does not exist in Pakistan. It has been proscribed by the UN and Pakistan also. Secondly, we are not doing anything under anybody’s pressure,” Major General Asif Ghafoor said in an interview with CNN.
He asserted that the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s claim of responsibility for the Pulwama terror attack was not made from inside Pakistan.
In contrast, Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi last week had told BBC that Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Azhar Masood was in Pakistan and was not well. Qureshi had also admitted that the Pakistani establishment was in touch with Azhar.
On Wednesday, former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf, in an interview given to a Pakistani journalist, acknowledged that Jaish-e-Mohammed was a terror organisation based out of Pakistan and that the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI had used it to carry out attacks in India during his tenure. He also said that JeM had initiated failed assassination attempts against him twice.
It is being understood by politico-defense strategists that the present flip-flop by the Pakistani establishment was done under pressure from the Jaish leadership.
Jaish leadership is not happy with the Pakistani establishment’s crackdown on the terror outfit under international pressure, sources within Pakistan government told Sputnik.
“In fact, the present statement by Pakistani Military Spokesperson Major General Ghafoor denying the very existence of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan has been made under pressure from the Jaish leadership. It’s a known fact that Pakistani Army and ISI had been using JeM and other terror outfits in the proxy war against India,” Major General (Rtd) A K Siwach, a former Indian Army Officer told Sputnik.
“I came to know that even Jaish leadership has threatened to expose Pakistani Army and ISI if they do not provide safe havens to Jaish and its leaders,” Major General (Rtd) Siwach added.
Meanwhile, Chinese vice-foreign minister Kong Xuanyou has met Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in an unscheduled meet.
The visit is said to be crucial ahead of the UN’s listing of Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. Earlier, on all occasions, China had thwarted attempts in United Nations Security Council to designate Azhar as a global terrorist.

“TERRORIST organisation ISIS has claimed “London remains in terror” after the group issued a vile threat to the UK.
A poster from ISIS was released less than 24 hours after a series of firebombs were sent to transport hot spots across the capital. The image, which was shared across social media, displays the words “we will kill you”. Writing across the picture, which depicts some of London’s skyscrapers in Canary Wharf, also said: “Your crimes will not be unpunished.”
According to the Daily Mirror, the New IRA had been responsible for the sending of packages throughout London.
Items were sent to Waterloo train station and buildings around Heathrow Airport and London City Airport.
Also seen in the poster are suspicious packages.
Yesterday, police found A4-sized white postal bags, which contained yellow jiffy bags.
Police said that the items were capable of igniting a small fire when opened.
At the time, Scotland Yard said it was working hard to “ensure the safety of the public and staff working at transport hubs and mail sorting offices”.
It added: “We have shared images of the exterior packaging of two of the devices to aid staff in identifying a potentially suspicious package.”
London Waterloo is the busiest station in the UK, with 94 million customers in 2017/18.
Police were also called to a report of a suspicious package at City Aviation House at London City Airport at 12.15pm.
Transport Secretary Chris Grayling tweeted: “Police are investigating a small number of security alerts.
“If you’re travelling and see anything suspicious, please report it to the police by calling 0800 789 321 or visit https://act.campaign.gov.uk #ActionCountersTerrorism.”
London Mayor Sadiq Khan added on the social media site: “The Met Police UK Counter Terrorism Command has launched an investigation after three suspicious packages were found at locations in London.

EU failure to tackle migrant crisis laid bare today as chiefs to declare asylum plan dead (express, Mar 7, 2019)

“EUROPEAN Union plans to change the bloc’s rules on migrants are set to be scrapped.
The bloc has reached a stalemate over a package of seven laws to overhaul the asylum system ahead of the European elections in May. And EU interior ministers are expected to declare the reforms dead at a meeting in Brussels later today despite a last-minute attempt by France and Germany to push them through. An EU diplomat told Politico: “It’s the official day to conclude that there’s no agreement on asylum.”
Five of the laws have already been agreed but the EU is at a deadlock over how migrants are redistributed across the bloc.
Southern countries, which have taken in the majority of migrants who have crossed the Mediterranean, insist other member states must take their share of refugees.
But central and eastern European countries are opposed to the EU imposing a quota system.
Member states have also failed to agree a proposal on harmonising asylum procedures.
It comes after Hungary’s anti-immigration government targeted European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and billionaire George Soros in a campaign against Brussels.
A poster shared last month on the Hungarian government’s Facebook page showed Mr Juncker and Hungarian-American businessman Mr Soros alongside warnings about the the EU’s migration policy.
The poster said: “You also have the right to know what Brussels is preparing for!
“The government is launching an information campaign on Brussels’ migration incentivising plans.
“Everyone has the right to know what are the actual proposals, which fundamentally threaten Hungary’s security.

Founder of BirthStrike, Blythe Pepino, said she was moved to create the now-60-member-strong community after reading publications from the United Nations’ (UN) climate change body left her feeling like the world had “no future”.
“I do have a partner and would like to have children with him. We’re really in love, and it feels like the right thing to do,” the 33-year-old disclosed.
“But last year I read the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [IPCC] and realised how wrong it would be to bring a child into a world on the brink of catastrophe. Now we are looking for [others] who feel the same way to join us.”

The launch of BirthStrike in Britain came only days after U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez touched on similar topics during a question-and-answer session broadcast from her Instagram account, in which she defended her much-criticised ‘Green New Deal’.
“It is basically a scientific consensus that the lives of our children are going to be very difficult, and it does lead young people to have a legitimate question: is it OK to still have children?” the Democrat representative wondered aloud.
Bristol-based eco-activist Alice Brown, who was one of the first to sign up to BirthStrike, joined Pepino on the UK media circuit this week to talk about their concerns for the future and urge other British women to think twice before bringing children into the world.
Brown, who recently told her father that she would not consider having children until carbon emissions were vastly reduced, told the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire show that her concern over the climate meant “each day for me is a struggle”.
“I’m so depressed, and that has led to a fear that I’ve never felt before,” the 25-year-old confessed, explaining: “Since my parents had me, we’ve destroyed 60 per cent of life on this planet.
“There could be 10 percent of nature left when my child is growing up. That is incredibly dangerous. We’re already at the tipping point and I can’t see a safe world for children.”
During an appearance on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday, Pepino highlighted IPCC warnings of “disastrous global temperature rises… unless humanity cuts its greenhouse gas emissions” as central to her decision to choose ‘the planet over pregnancy’.
But the London-based, anti-patriarchy musician, who reportedly now campaigns full time, is also an advocate of open borders, having erected shelters for illegal immigrants in Calais and ‘worked closely’ with the UK NGO Help Refugees.
After performing the music in 2016’s John Lewis Christmas advert with her band, Vaults, Pepino expressed support for a campaign seeking the shutdown of migration-critical media, in an announcement that all proceeds from the single would be donated to Help Refugees.
Essentially seeking to dismantle UK border controls, with demands including a massive loosening of restrictions on the number and types of family members migrants are allowed to import, the aims of Help Refugees would appear to be completely at odds with BirthStrike.
Exposing the contradiction in the Birthstrike founder’s positions, the policies NGO Help Refugees advocates would vastly increase global CO2 output through transferring populations from unindustrialised, low-polluting parts of the world to rich nations where residents have a far higher carbon footprint.”

“One of the most shocking reports to come out of the trial for the murder of Italian teen Pamela Mastropietro is that she may have been dismembered while still alive.
The revelations come following testimony from Vincenzo Marino, a key witness in the trial of Nigerian drug dealer Innocent Oseghale who is accused of killing the Italian 18-year-old last year, Il Giornale reports.
Marino had been detained in prison at the same time as Oseghale and claimed to have overheard him admit to the murder.
Marino said that the Nigerian drug dealer stabbed the Italian teen immediately after having sex with her. “They had a fight, they pushed, Oseghale stabbed her in the liver and after a first stab Pamela fell to the ground,” he said.
The witness went on to add that following the initial stabbing, Oseghale left the scene to fetch another man to help him dispose of Mastropietro’s body and then “returned home, convinced him that Pamela was dead and started dismembering from the foot.”
The Nigerian is then alleged to have stabbed the teen again after she allegedly tried to cry out.
According to Marino, Oseghale did not name who his accomplice was. “He had washed [the body] with bleach because it would not have been known if she had died of an overdose or murdered,” he said.
“He said there was a sack in the fridge to put the pieces in, but they did not fit in there and that he had to cut it and put it in two suitcases,” Marino added.
The suitcases, which were left on the side of the road, were discovered in February last year in the Italian commune of Pollenza sparking a national uproar and provoking a mass shooting attempt targetting migrants by 28-year-old Luca Traini, who allegedly knew the victim.
Several months later, another Italian teen, Desirée Mariottini, was found dead following an overdose in Rome. Prosecutors arrested several migrant men in connection with her death accusing them of raping the 16-year-old and purposely causing her to fatally overdose on drugs.”

Some of the women, including those who campaigned for the right to drive, have been subjected to electric shocks, flogging, sexual assault and other forms of torture, activists say.
U.N. human rights chief Michelle Bachelet called on Saudi Arabia on March 6 to release women activists allegedly tortured in detention after authorities accused them of harming the country’s interests.

Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, obtained majority control of the political action committee in December 2017, TheDCNF reported Monday. Chakrabarti resigned from the Justice Democrats’ board in August 2018, Politico reported, and the PAC’s website no longer lists Ocasio-Cortez as a governor, but government documents show the two still hold majority control as of Wednesday afternoon.
Ocasio-Cortez’s role with the PAC, which was a driving force behind her stunning victory in 2018, may have violated campaign finance laws, two former Federal Election Commission (FEC) members told TheDCNF.

Over in the Senate, meanwhile, Hawaii Democrat Mazie Hirono walked back her original criticism of the Green New Deal’s call for phasing out air travel, telling MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that not eliminating plane travel is “a crazy position.”

Ocasio-Cortez Hit With ANOTHER ETHICS VIOLATION Complaint
Waaaaay too simple. Any politician knows—or can find in their sleep some attorney who does—that conflicts of interest are an ethical (if not moral) violation. This is such an ironclad maxim that it has legitimately metamorphosed into being interpretable as an indication of guilt if there is even the appearance of conflict.
The errors in discussion are so egregious and lacking in front end, proof-of-principle, game planning (i.e., good judgement) to where it precludes any lack of knowledge aforethought and establishes a pattern of surreptitious behavior (e.g., concealment of PAC funds in an LLC and keeping staffer pay just shy of legal reporting thresholds).
In yet a gazillionth example of parallel between Socialism and Islam: Between targeting senior Democrat ranks and wildly antagonizing all but the most RINO of RINOs, this airborne locomotive is making too many enemies too fast.
Just the intramural feuds she’s lit off are nigh well sure to sink her little rubber ducky. It’ll be a miracle if the wheels haven’t flown off of her little red wagon before the holidays.
Are the Democrats using her as a bizarre stalking horse, whipping tomboy, and trial balloon chimera? It sure as hell is the only way to explain what’s going on without ingesting psychedelics or swan-diving through the looking glass.
The only thing what’s difficult to imagine is that they’ll leave her off leash long enough for the GOP dogcatchers to make an example out of her. Having their rabid little stray put down in Sing Sing is what PACs pay millions of dollars to avoid, especially as this 2020 wacko pack clears the third turn.
Please don’t think that exec level Deep Blue State brass aren’t willing to sacrifice her army of Social Media recruits if that’s what it takes to get this showboater off the field and prevent her from scoring an inevitable “own goal”.

Democrats’ anti-Semitism rebuke goes from impotent to totally worthless

The House Democratic resolution rebuking anti-Semitism, which started out as worthless, lost any last vestige of meaningfulness today.
The original resolution included historical references to Jews being accused of dual loyalty, including Alfred Dreyfuss, Leo Frank, and Islamophobic charges after 9/11. But not once did it condemn Rep. Ilhan Omar or the strain of Jew-hatred in the Democratic Party that began way before she was elected. For example, in 2003 former Congressman James Moran (D-Va.) made the false charge that the leaders of America’s Jewish community sent America into war in Iraq to benefit Israel, a charge that President Barack Obama repeated in 2015
The Democrats are now proposing masking anti-Semitism with a resolution that repudiates every other kind of hatred in America. They are making the resolution more vacuous to hide the cancer of anti-Semitism that has overtaken Democratic Party.

The City of Ottawa has tapped Montreal-based engineering giant SNC-Lavalin and international construction consortium East West Connectors to design and build Stage 2 of Ottawa’s light-rail transit system, extensions now projected to be $1.2 billion more than originally planned.
For a price of nearly $4.7 billion, the second major phase of Ottawa’s LRT project will add 44 kilometres and 24 new stations to the O-Train network by 2025, two years later than initially anticipated, city officials announced on Friday.[…]

Ottawa’s $4.6-billion Stage 2 transit expansion is a go.
City council voted 19-3 on Wednesday to sign contracts with two construction groups to extend the Confederation Line LRT to Trim Road, Algonquin College and Moodie Drive, and extend the Trillium Line to Limebank Road and the Ottawa International Airport.
Kiewit and Vinci, under the name East West Connectors, will construct the Confederation Line extensions, and SNC-Lavalin, under the name TransitNEXT, will construct the Trillium Line extensions and maintain the line.

SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary TransitNEXT, has been selected by the City of Ottawa as the preferred proponent for the Trillium Line Extension project. “The newly released Black and White Book of Terrorism in Europe has revealed radical Islamic terrorists have accounted for 91 percent of the total terror victims since the year 2000.
The book is an initiative of Spanish MEP Maité Pagazaurtundua, president of the Foundation for Victims of Terrorism, listing the 753 people killed in terror attacks in the European Union between 2000 and 2018, Le Figaro reports.
The report also examines European victims of terror globally, revealing that a further 1,115 people including tourists and military personnel had also been victims of terrorism during the same period.
In total, 91 percent of the victims were killed by radical Islamic extremists, 20 percent of whom were murdered by suicide bombers.
Political terror casualties have been far lower, with far-left extremists and far-right extremists each murdering 13 people.
Far-left extremism has been on the rise in several European countries in recent years, with the German domestic intelligence agency BfV warning that violent far-left extremist numbers rose from 7,100 to 9,000 between 2012 and 2017.
The number of far-left extremist crimes also grew by a massive 88 percent during the same period.
In terms of EU countries, Spain has seen the most terror-related deaths, with 268 victims, closely followed by France with 263.
Elisabeth Pelsez, French interministerial delegate for terror victim support, said that the book was not just one of statistics but also one of remembrance for the victims of attacks.
“Forgetfulness is the worst thing,” she said, going on to add, “let’s not forget the physically or psychically injured, about 10 to 20 people for one death.”
The number of terror threats in Europe has also remained high since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015 with French authorities saying last summer that they had prevented at least 5 serious terror attacks that year.
In 2017, Europe faced an estimated 205 separate terror plots according to Europol with 107 of the plots being reported by the United Kingdom.”

Ayanna Pressley’s push to lower federal voting age called ‘simply wrong’
Critics are slamming U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s push to lower the voting age from 18 years old to 16, calling it a “terrible idea.”
“It’s simply wrong,” MassGOP chairman Jim Lyons told the Herald. “Almost all 16-year-olds I know I don’t believe should have the privilege or the authority to vote. They simply haven’t matured to the level that they can make those types of decisions.”
Lyons added that Democrats have prioritized raising various age requirements “in just about everything,” including for smoking, using tanning beds and the age for juvenile crimes.
When asked about the proposal Wednesday, Gov. Charlie Baker said, “I did raise three teenagers, and based on that I’d be pretty dubious about lowering it to 16.”
Pressley proposed her first amendment as a congresswoman during a meeting of the House Committee on Rules Tuesday. The measure would lower the federal election voting age by two years; however, state and local races would remain the same.

Some, like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s mother, are leaving because of high taxes. “I was paying $10,000 a year in real estate taxes up north. I’m paying $600 a year in Florida,” Blanca Ocasio-Cortez explained.
Some claim that nobody leaves New York because of the taxes. Cortez’s mother proves them wrong.
But millennials are leaving in record numbers because there are no jobs. New York’s under eighteen population is down 4%. That’s not surprising since their unemployment rate is 78% higher than the New York City average. That leaves 100,000+ New York millennials with no jobs and no future.

American National Security and the Imperative Primacy of “Mind”
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: While President Trump intends to bolster US power through enhanced weapons systems and a rededication to belligerent nationalist foreign policies, authentic national security will require new emphases on intellect, or “mind.” This means focusing on new ways of thinking about world politics, especially much-needed escape plans from lethal cycles of competitive geopolitics. Washington must slow its still-growing inclination toward renewed arms racing and to other kinds of military escalation and shift its policy emphases to the greater utilities of intellect.
The core problems of American national security are not about weapons or tactics. Those complex problems can never be resolved simply by ramping up lethal ordnance and verbal bellicosity. Rather, such existential concerns can be mitigated only by disciplined applications of “mind.”
This basic lesson was taught by the ancient Greeks and Macedonians. As we know from the work of distinguished historians, especially Frank E. Adcock’s The Greek and Macedonian Art of War (1962), these early strategists described their own wars as contests of “mind over mind.” As best as we can determine, there was never any expressly favored notion of war solely as a narrowly operational struggle of “mind over matter.”

DNC rejects Fox News for debates, claiming it’s unfair and unbalanced: the war to come

The motivation for Perez’s decision, he explained, was “recent reporting in the New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and Fox News.”
The story in question, by staffer Jane Mayer, cites sources who “confirm” that Fox News is in the Trump administration’s pocket. One of them is Bill Kristol, who was a contributor at Fox News Channel before declaring himself a “Never Trumper” and heading over to the “dark side.” (He now appears regularly on CNN’s “Crossfire” and on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” as well as the networks.) In Kristol’s view, according to Mayer, it isn’t he who changed but Fox News: “Before, it was conservative, but it wasn’t crazy. Now it’s just propaganda.”

The Palestinian Authority (PA) in the West Bank is continuing its unremitting security crackdown on Palestinian journalists, particularly on those who are not affiliated with Mahmoud Abbas’s ruling Fatah faction. Scores of journalists have been arrested or summoned by the PA in the West Bank on a regular basis in the past few years. In the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, Palestinian journalists are facing a similar campaign of intimidation and harassment.
In the past few days, another two journalists, Hazem Nasser and Amer Abu Arafeh, were arrested by the PA security forces — and not for the first time. Nasser, who is from the city of Tulkarem, and Abu Arafeh, who is from Hebron, have, in fact, become “frequent visitors” of PA detention centers and interrogation rooms.
The incarceration of Nasser and Abu Arafeh brings to 16 the number of Palestinian journalists who have been arrested or summoned for interrogation by the PA security forces in the West Bank and Hamas in the Gaza Strip just since the beginning of this year.

The lawsuit, which was submitted to the chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Thursday, is on behalf of 28 Syrian refugees in Jordan who were forcibly displaced.
Each of the 28 has testified about being bombed, shot at, detained, tortured, and having witnessed mass killings since the war began in 2011, which forced them to flee.
Syria is not a signatory to the ICC Statute, which meant it had not previously been possible to open a case against the government.

In a statement Thursday, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said the report was “full of flagrant falsification of facts.” It said the report lacks “professionalism” and accused those who prepared it of being far from neutral and objective.
The report issued last week by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons’ fact finding mission found “reasonable grounds” that chlorine was used in the April 7, 2018 attack. Medical workers said at the time that the attack killed more than 40 people.
