    Lawmakers from nine countries tore into Facebook on Tuesday after CEO Mark Zuckerberg failed to attend an international committee hearing in Westminster, London.

    Instead, Facebook sent its policy chief, Richard Allan, who bore the brunt of the committee’s fury during the grueling 165-minute hearing while acknowledging that Zuckerberg’s no-show was not a good look.

    Not only did lawmakers scold Zuckerberg for his absence, but evidence was brought forward from a cache of Facebook documents the committee seized last week.

      Just examine the average age and ethnicity of Facebook employees. It’s one huge junior college campus with ashtrays super-computing capabilities.

      During a visit to One Hacker Way in Menlo Park (for a study), I commented to a receptionist about the lobby’s “mural”. You’d think—like any sane person would—that a major player like Facebook could only be proud of the corporate art that they’ve commissioned. Instead, after repeated online searches, I still am unable to locate a single image of the Building Six lobby art.

      As in, a gigantic mural (at least thirty foot square – 8.4 square meters) adorned the entrance’s largest blank wall. It was an almost monochromatic, semi-graffitiesque agglomeration of grotesque alien life forms in an otherwise stylized urban setting. One of these BEMs (Bug-Eyed Monsters) was riding a bicycle with an open laptop in the handlebar basket and vigorously pedaling away whilst conspicuously wearing earbuds—something that is both illegal and extremely dangerous to do in an urban setting, much less at all.

      NOTE: Buried amidst all of the Postmodern, transhuman noise were one or two recognizable people. Neither played any meaningful role, nor held any readily identifiable position of importance in the overall piece.

      To continue: In order to protect my reputation as an insufferable know-it-all, I politely asked the receptionist about their lobby “art”. She knew nothing of its origin or significance—so I gently prodded her about the meaning of art by inquiring whether true artistry involved the mastery of beauty in its various expressions.

      She hesitatingly agreed so, as a shamelessly Sore Winner™, I gestured over to the wall mural—whose central figure at ten feet (three meters) tall—was an anthropomorphized, furry, quasi-primitive hominid with some obviously non-human features; and asked whether that “work” carried forth or played well upon artistic mastery of beauty.

      To her credit, she immediately got the point and I cheerfully will take credit for uncaging at least one young mind that day. Right then, I was paged to the security entrance so, left unspoken was my well-incubated rant about how the mural’s “creator” probably received tens of thousands of dollars for, essentially, POMO graffiti.

    (ANSA) – Rome, November 28 – Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said Wednesday that Italy will not take part in an intergovernmental conference in Marrakech next month to adopt the United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration

    “Just like the Swiss, who carried forward the Global Compact up until yesterday and then said ‘everyone stop’, the Italian government will not sign anything and will not go to Marrakech,” Salvini told the Lower House.

    “The floor of parliament must debate it. The Italian government will allow parliament to decide”. Premier Giuseppe Conte also said the government will not do anything until parliament has expressed a view.

    “The Global Migration Compact is a document that raises issues and questions that many citizens have strong feelings about,” Conte said.

    “Therefore, we consider it right to put the debate in parliament and subject any final decision on the outcome of that debate, as Switzerland has done.

    “So the government will not participate in Marrakech, reserving the option to adopt the document, or not, only when parliament has expressed its opinion”.

  15. Mexico: First group of migrants from caravan deported back to Honduras

    Some 105 migrants were reportedly voluntarily deported from Tijuana back to Honduras on Wednesday, after giving up on their US asylum claims.

    Migrants could be seen loading luggage and boarding a Mexican federal police aircraft bound for Honduras.

    One Honduran migrant, Maria del Carmen Medina, said before boarding: “The president of the United States is angry right now, if he dies of a [heart] attack we will pay for it. That is why I am leaving, I do not want to be an accomplice to that death.”

      Talk about multiple win–wins! The floodgates are opening for weary homesick “migrants” to get a free ride back down to the farm. Let’s have a look at the list:

      1.) Mexico pays for evacuating the invaders [Wowsers!]

      2.) Securing America’s southern border is now undeniably important

      3.) Successive waves caravans are discouraged

      4.) No longer are American Liberals able to deem caravans nonexistent

      5.) Mexico’s government has, literally, been read the Riot Act™

      6.) American Progressives can’t deny Mexico’s utter dependency on $USD

      7.) Mexico’s government has openly admitted that same dependence

      8.) Countries of origin will see returning returned invaders, thus further demoralizing potential candidates for future caravans.

      This list could go on for pages. Trump’s brilliant deployment of military units to (especially) the San Ysidro border crossing—which I have personally transited—was a specific show of force that the invaders could only be expected to unquestioningly comprehend.

      As in: In all of these invaders’ countries of origin, people in military uniforms represent an instant, existential threat to life and limb. The presence of American soldiers—and not just hopelessly fettered Border Patrol agents—was one of the strongest possible messages that could be sent to both the invaders themselves and to Mexico’s government.

      NOTE: Had I the hour or two time and inclination, that above list could be expanded to the proverbial baker’s dozen. Fortunately, I’ll count on being pardoned for presuming upon the intelligence of this site’s readership to enjoy my little tantrum tirade.

      To carry on: Let’s take a moment and think about the almost invisible, yet impossible-to-confuse message that was sent to just George Soros alone. These weren’t smoke signals, they initiated a slow but steady exposure of Soros—something previously unheard of—which is now, without the risk of appearing more than foolish (or unreliable), beyond any ability the MSM has to deny or disremember.

      It was worth the price of admission alone just to watch Tijuana’s top brass squealing like stuck pigs over the “migrants”—an otherwise gigantic portion of that little cesspit’s GDP—when they’ve been silent about their elephant-in-the-room since time began.

      The Realpolitik value of this single backchannel geopolitical defeat cannot be overstated. What better memo to circulate than, “Soros spent how many millions of dollars on what?” Particularly when the “what?” in question involves spending all of those über-Liberal frogskins on providing a picture perfect illustration to Americans of precisely why it’s a top priority to build an almost unbroken wall on the USA’s southern border.

      • Let us savor the victories we get, we are going to need the good memories in the future as people like Beto O’Rourke start running for President. This is probably going to start next January if not next month. While I am not as pessimistic as Trevor Loudon (be sure and listen to the podcast that was posted) we are in bad shape and Beto is a rising star on the left. What we have to hope is that the attempt to push through the border has awakened a lot of voters who will vote against open borders. They don’t have to vote for Trump and the Repubs as long as the vote against the Dems.

        In my career of voting for President there were only two elections that I voted for someone, all the rest I voted against people. If we can get enough to vote against the Dems policies we stand a chance.

  16. Facebook and Russia: U.K. Seizes ‘Thousands’ of Emails

    (Bloomberg) — Internal emails flagged by a U.K. lawmaker as evidence Facebook Inc. knew Russian-linked entities were harvesting data earlier than previously thought, have become the latest battleground between the social media giant and U.K. lawmakers.

    Following a public hearing Tuesday between international lawmakers and a senior Facebook executive, the U.S. company released a heavily redacted internal email chain from late 2014, that showed concerns over large volumes of data requests appearing to originate from Russian-based IP addresses.

    A later email, from a redacted sender, said that the requests instead came from Pinterest servers, and may be evidence of a technical error. Competing internet companies routinely build tools that let developers of one platform request data from another, to help users share content between both sites or see which of their friends have recently signed up.

  17. Pakistan: At least 25 killed, dozens wounded in market suicide blast

    At least 25 people have reportedly been killed with at least 26 more injured after a blast rocked a market in Kalaya town in northwestern Pakistan on Friday.

    People were seen assisting the injured at the site of the blast, with bodies of those killed still lying in fallen debris.

    According to reports, the attack was committed by a suicide bomber who rammed into market visitors on a motorcycle and detonated an explosive device.

    Earlier it was reported that the device was hidden in one of the vegetable boxes at the market.

    No one has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.

    HONG KONG (AP) — A Chinese researcher who claims to have helped make the world’s first genetically edited babies says a second pregnancy may be underway.

    The researcher, He Jiankui of Shenzhen, revealed the pregnancy Wednesday while making his first public comments about his controversial work at an international conference in Hong Kong.

    He claims to have altered the DNA of twin girls born earlier this month to try to make them resistant to infection with the AIDS virus. Mainstream scientists have condemned the experiment, and universities and government groups are investigating.

    Washington is considering sanctions against companies and officials linked to China’s alleged crackdown on the country’s minority Muslims.

    Speaking to Reuters before heading to join Chinese President Xi Jinping’s delegation at this week’s G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Cui Tiankai said China was going to the Argentinean capital hoping for a deal to ease a damaging trade war with the United States.

      Argentina hopes to announce an agreement on the Chinese-financed construction of the Atucha III nuclear power plant during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit on Sunday following the summit of leaders of G20 industrialized nations in Buenos Aires, Juan Pablo Tripodi, head of Argentina’s national investment agency, told Reuters in an interview.

      The potential deal, reportedly worth up to $8 billion, is emblematic of China’s strengthening of economic, diplomatic and cultural ties with Argentina. It is part of a wider push by Beijing into Latin America that has alarmed the United States, which views the region as its backyard and is suspicious of China’s motives.

      The focus of this week’s meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the sidelines of G20 will be on their two countries’ trade war, but the backdrop will be the competition between the powers for influence in Latin America.

        All of which beggars the question of just how badly Communist China is fooling itself about whatever sort of up-front payment they’re going to get on that $8 billion deal. It’s anybody’s guess until Argentina inks their own 20,000-tonne (22,000 ton) per year beef export deal with the United States—over strenuous domestic cattle industry objections, it must added. Maybe then Buenos Aires might be able to rustle up (so to speak) a bit of pocket change for that PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor).

        Those loose coins would probably be in some form of beef futures package that the Gauchos could then mortgage to the Chicoms. Knowing how Beijing operates, their own financial bloodhounds have most likely been out in the field for weeks trying to scam up some derivatives that are based on having already inked the Atucha III nuclear power plant deal.

  22. Military buildup underway on both sides of Russia-Ukraine border

    According to National Security Adviser John Bolton, President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have planned to meet during the G20 summit in Argentina later this week. The two leaders are expected to address the mounting tensions between the Kremlin and Ukraine.

    This comes amid alarming reports of ongoing military buildups in both Ukraine and Russia in the wake of a recent maritime incident. The president told reporters that he is still waiting on a full report from his national security team on this incident before deciding whether to meet with Putin.

    On Tuesday, Russian media reported that the Kremlin has deployed a highly advanced anti-ship missile systems to the occupied Crimea. The move is poised to fuel tensions as the systems, known as BAL, are a serious weapon of war deployed to a territory with an unrecognized status under international law.

    Meanwhile in Ukraine, troops are on high-alert after Marshall law was implemented by Kyiv earlier this week.

    “I don’t want anyone to think this is fun and games — Ukraine is under the threat of full-scale war with Russia,” stated Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

  24. The fakest headline ever: ‘Sarah Sanders says migrant families deserved to be tear gassed’

    In 2014, The Washington Post cited a then-new study by the Media Insight Project, an initiative of the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and the American Press Institute, which found that 6 in 10 Americans read the headlines of new stories but stop there, without bothering to read even the opening paragraph.

    The findings hold true to this day, but in this era of fake news they have taken on a new and far graver importance than ever. Nowhere is this better illustrated than in an article published yesterday at Raw Story under the headline “Sarah Sanders says migrant families deserved to be tear gassed: ‘We’ve encouraged them to follow the law’.”

    What makes the story remarkable is not only that the claim of Sanders’s heartless reaction is never repeated or elaborated on in the text of the article but that the substance of the press secretary’s remarks tell the opposite story. She is quoted for example as saying:

    “In August, two migrants of Syrian and Iraqi descent stabbed a German resident of Chemnitz to death after a heated dispute. The incident spurred country-wide protests against rampant crime, allegedly caused by an influx of migrants.

    German police have revealed that they have arrested a suspect in the case of a rape of a 15-year-old girl. According to police, cited by the AP, a person identified by the victim as one of the two assailants was a 21-year-old Afghan asylum-seeker. Police are still looking for the second assailant, but wouldn’t provide details about the culprit, citing the ongoing investigation.

    The German newspaper Bild claims that the second suspect is an 18-year-old friend of the perpetrator, also Afghan, and is believed to have held the victim during the act.

    Police said that the arrested suspect had been identified by his name and apprehended by law enforcement on 23 November in an area serving as a home for many asylum-seekers.

    The victim contacted police on 22 November, saying she had been sexually assaulted two days earlier by two men in a public toilet in Königs Wusterhausen, a town situated not far from Berlin.

    Italian police officers arrested a 38-year-old man who was reportedly planning a chemical attack in the Sardinian city of Macomer, the newspaper La Stampa reported, citing law enforcement sources. According to the media, he intended to poison the public drinking water system using rat poison, however, the Italian authorities have yet to confirm this information.

    La Stampa reported that the suspect, who had a Palestinian passport and a proper work permit, was a street vendor who never stated he was a follower of the jihadist movement.

    The boy was quizzed over the footage in which the 15-year-old victim, whose arm is in a sling, is headbutted, then pinned down and squirted in the face with water.

    Today it also emerged the victim’s sister, who fled the war torn city of Homs with her family, was assaulted on the same day the shocking video went viral on social media.

    The girl, who has been subject to so much playground abuse she once tried to kill herself by cutting her wrists with a shard of glass, was attacked yesterday by her tormentors.

    A lawyer for the family confirmed to MailOnline that the boy and his sister have been subjected to so much abuse that their investigators contacted police, the local council and the the local MP.

    Mohammed Akunjee, of Farooq Bajwa & Co, based in Mayfair, London, said: ‘We have been investigating this since the family contacted us about the abuse they are receiving.

    ‘The boy and his sister have been subjected to so much abuse that we decided to contact the MP in this case.

    ‘The same day the video went viral on social media of Jamal being attacked, his sister was also attacked.

    ‘She had her headscarf ripped off in the playground. This is despite us complaining to the school about the abuse.

    ‘She has also attempted suicide, and tried to cut her wrists with a shard of glass the level of bullying got so much.’

    Mr Akunjee said they have contacted the school and the local authority, but have not been given any information on what action was being taken.

    He did confirm that the attacker, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was excluded on November 20.

    Three other boys that appear in the video are being dealt with by the school.

    In statement West Yorkshire Police said a 16-year-old youth has been interviewed and reported for summons for an offence of assault.

    The statement said: ‘The incident occurred on 25 October this year and has been subject to thorough investigation since it was reported to us the day after.

    ‘The victim and his family are receiving ongoing support from police and other agencies.

    ‘Safeguarding measures have been put in place for the victim and his family.

    ‘A previous unconnected incident on 7 October, in which the victim suffered a wrist injury, was also fully investigated at the time.

    ‘Three youths were interviewed. There was no further police action and the matter was referred to the school.’

The studies had different purposes: one was to observe and analyze naturally occurring phenomena; the other was to consider a proposed active measure for countering “global warming.” The studies therefore aren’t contradictory, per se. But to see both of them getting public attention, at a time when they would indicate different advisable policy courses, is to be reminded that science doesn’t tell us what to do. In September 2009, Danish climate science expert Henrik Svensmark published an article in the Danish paper Jyllands-Posten discussing research on the climate effects of a deep solar minimum, or period of extremely low electromagnetic activity by the sun.     Written last week, the letter said: ‘I remain to be convinced of the evidence that these orders will be effective in reducing knife crime, especially possession, among young people.

    ‘Bearing in mind the intention to move to a public health approach, I am concerned that these orders will accelerate the criminalisation of young people rather than address the wider social issues around carrying knives.

    ‘Given our existing messages on knife crime and the statutory minimum sentences, there is a real risk that the courts will feel compelled to impose custodial sentences – often very short custodial sentences – for breach of an order.

    ‘I do not want to see large numbers, especially of young people, serving ineffective short sentences for breaches of civil orders.’

    Mr Gauke said he supported ‘giving full and careful consideration to any gaps in police powers’ and wanted to provide additional support over knife crime.

    But he said: ‘I would oppose an announcement being made at this stage, on one option, without having given more consideration to whether these orders are the best way to provide a preventative, proportionate and affordable response to knife crime.’

    He said he had asked his officials to work on other measures.

    Last night sources denied Mr Gauke had sought to veto the plans and was instead asking for more information about them.

    One Whitehall source said: ‘It’s absurd to suggest anyone would prevent the police from getting new powers to tackle knife crime because of costs, but it is only fair to ask how it would work and how it would prevent or fight knife crime.’…”

He said: ”Today, the Muslim world is alone and Muslims should join hands. “Relying on outsiders is the biggest historical mistake.

    “Today, there is no way for Muslims except unity and solidarity and if we unite, we can undoubtedly score a victory against the Zionists and the Americans.”

    President Rouhani attempted to paper over Iran’s relations with Saudi Arabia recently, noting that the Islamic Republic considers the Saudi people as “brothers”.

    He also stressed that Tehran was ready to defend the Arabian Peninsula without receiving anything in return, while launching a thinly-veiled attack on US President Donald Trump.

    MPs call for definition of Islamophobia as ‘type of racism’ to fight growing hatred

    Harmful myths and lies about Muslims are now believed by a large section of the UK’s population, contributing to discrimination across employment, housing, the criminal justice system and other areas of public life, a new report by MPs has found.

    The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on British Muslims found that “prevalent” Islamophobia was driving division, hate crime AND EVEN TERROR ATTACKS .

    “British society at large, by virtue of normalised prejudice against Muslim beliefs and practice, have come to imbibe a panoply of falsehoods or misrepresentations and discriminatory outlooks,”its report said.

    “Academic research has consistently shown that British Muslims face considerably high levels of economic disadvantage than other groups in Britain.”

    While a report by market research company Ipsos Mori found that the majority of Muslims believe Islam is compatible with the British way of life, a separate survey of the wider population by polling firm YouGov, found that 46 per cent thought there was a “fundamental clash between Islam and the values of British society”.

    A separate study recently found almost a third of British people believe the myth of “no-go zones” where non-Muslims cannot enter, while the MPs took aim at false and misleading news stories.

    They include the “Winterval” myth that claimed Christmas celebrations were being suppressed and a story that wrongly interpreted research to say one fifth of British Muslims had “sympathy for jihadis”.

    MPs said that corrections published by newspapers “pale in comparison to the damage done to perceptions of Muslims in British society”.

    A report concluded that Islamophobia has far surpassed the “dinner table test” espoused by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi in 2011 and is now prevalent in society.

    MPs said that because there is no commonly agreed definition of Islamophobia, it has been allowed to “increase in society to devastating effect”.

    “The detectable shift from overt to subtler or respectable, manifestations of Islamophobia – the normalisation of the prejudice to the extent it is rendered almost invisible to many – warrants a definition that can arrest and reverse its present trajectory,” their report said.

    “There has been no attempt to adopt a definition of Islamophobia by government despite recognising the significant impact the problem has on British Muslim communities.”

    After a six-month inquiry taking evidence from Muslim organisations, legal experts, academics, MPs and other groups, the APPG called on the government to adopt the definition: “Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”

    Anticipating criticism from far-right and populist groups, MPs said the definition did not aim to curtail free speech or criticism of Islam as a religion.

    “From hate crimes motivated by anti-Muslim feeling, buttressed by stereotypes and racist caricatures prevalent in social and media discourse, to policies which perpetuate discriminatory outcomes for Muslims, a definition of Islamophobia is vital,” the APPG concluded.

    MPs highlighted terror attacks and plots targeting Muslims, including the Finsbury Park attack and the attempted murder of a Sikh dentist in Wales.

    They said that rising hate crimes had affected both Muslims and those wrongly thought to be part of the religion because of their appearance, including an Italian man who was badly beaten in London.

    The APPG cited research showing that Muslims are disadvantaged across employment, housing, education, the criminal justice system, social and public life and in political or media discourse.

    Its report warned that Islamophobia also increased feeling of disengagement, disenfranchisement and disaffection with the state.

    Wes Streeting MP, co-chair of the APPG for British Muslims and Labour MP for Ilford North, said: “Islamophobia is a form of racism and it is growing in our society. To tackle it, Islamophobia must be accurately and fully defined and that’s why this inquiry centred around the discussion on a working definition.”

    “This landmark report brings about a working definition of Islamophobia for the first time, which will allow us to tackle this prejudice head-on. The adoption of this definition by political parties, statutory agencies and civil society organisations will allow us to turn a corner to move forward towards a fairer society.”

    Anna Soubry MP, co-chair of the APPG for British Muslims and Conservative MP for Broxtowe, said Islamophobia was a “very real problem” throughout the UK.

    “Muslims or people assumed to be Muslims are subjected to abuse, discrimination and criminal acts against them for no other reason than their faith or perceived faith,” she added. “It is equally obvious that overwhelmingly Islamophobia is rooted in racism and therefore is, racist. This definition recognises this truth and I hope it will now enable the serious work that needs to be done to tackle Islamophobia.”

    It was September and the media had just rolled out its latest hit piece against Ron DeSantis. Ever since DeSantis had won the Republican primary and Andrew Gillum had won the Dem primary, the media had been searching for new and innovative ways to smear DeSantis as a racist. Gillum was a radical leftist, but he was also African-American. And black voters were a key part of the Dem midterm strategy.

    And the strategy hinged entirely on clumsy accusations of racism.

    First, the media had insisted that DeSantis’ off-the-cuff remark, “monkey this up”, about the election was really a secret racist dog whistle. Then the Washington Post accused DeSantis of racism for speaking at the Freedom Center’s Restoration Weekend, alongside African-American speakers and activists.

    The media’s wildly dishonest smear accused DeSantis of racism because heading up the conference was the Freedom Center’s intrepid leader, David Horowitz, who had survived attacks by the radical Left and debilitating medical problems, to continue fighting for the civil rights for all races and groups.

    “I participated in my first civil rights demonstration for African Americans in 1948, 70 years ago. Since then, I have worked tirelessly on behalf of racial equality,” David Horowitz wrote in response to the smear. “Over the last 20 years, I have written three books and several hundred thousand words, all devoted to Martin Luther King’s vision that Americans should judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.”

    “Our agents were being assaulted,” U.S. Border Patrol chief Carla Provost told Fox News on Monday. “A large group rushed the area and they were throwing rocks and bottles at my men and women, putting them in harm’s way, as well as other members of the caravan. We needed to disperse the group, and with that assaultive nature, it was imperative that we dispersed them from the area.”

    Provost numbered the “migrant” caravan in the Tijuana area at 6,000, with about 1,000 participating in the assault. Department of Homeland Security boss Krystjen Neilsen had identified more than 500 criminals and said they used women and children as “human shields” in the assault. The violence did not bother Democrats, who preferred to target the Border Patrol’s response.

    Hawaii Democrat Sen. Brian Schatz questioned whether the border patrol had deployed “chemical weapons” and demanded to know who gave the order. Democrats made no such demand when the administration of POTUS 44 deployed tear gas 26 times in 2012 and 27 times in 2013. In 2013, under the same administration, the Border Patrol used Pava Capasaicin, also known as pepper spray, a full 151 times. This willful ignorance was hardly the only lapse of Democrats and their media allies.

  47. EGYPT – Muslims may eat dogs and cats: former Azhar official

    Former Head of al-Azhar’s Fatwa Committee Abdel Hameed al-Atrash proclaimed that Muslims may kill and eat cats and dogs, in a phone-in with TeN satellite channel on Tuesday.

    He explained that the committee had previously reviewed the issue, and it was allowed.

    “The Prophet (Mohamed) ordered us to be merciful with animals, humans and birds. He (Prophet Mohamed) said, ‘if you kill then kill well; and if you slaughter, then slaughter well. Let each one of you sharpen his blade and let him spare suffering to the animal he slaughters’.”

    In his discussion with the program’s presenter, Amr Abdel Hamid, Atrash added that “there is a jurisprudential ruling by Imam Malik that there is no harm in eating dog or cats. Eating dogs or cats is halal, but after the Islamic method of slaughtering.”

    “There is no prohibition except by text, and no text has been provided for that.”

    Atrash reasoned that “the export of dogs and cats is halal, as long as the laws of the country agree to that.”

    Parliamentarian Abdel Rehim Ali warned the government on Monday of considering to kill stray cats and dogs, as these actions could lead to environmental imbalance.

    Ali also submitted a request for briefing to Parliament Speaker Ali Abdul Aal, addressing whether he ordered Minister of Agriculture Ezz El-Din Abu Stiet to oversee the vaccination of the dogs, so they would not harm citizens.

    On Sunday, The Agriculture Ministry spokesperson denied rumors that Egypt plans to export stray dogs or cats, adding that animals which leave the country are subjected to a set of strict rules.

    The Agriculture Ministry does not import or export dogs or cats, but applies some measures on animals that accompany travelers who are coming to or leaving Egypt, Agriculture Ministry Spokesperson Hamed Abdel Dayem clarified in a phone interview on the al-Hadath al-Youm channel, on Sunday evening.

    Claims that Egypt intends to export stray dogs or cats to countries that will eat them, he reiterated, are baseless. He asserted that social media users unintentionally tarnish Egypt’s reputation by circulating these rumors.

    MP Nadia Henry submitted an urgent request to the parliament speaker on Saturday to prepare a bill that criminalizes the export of dogs and cats outside Egypt.

    On Sunday afternoon, hundreds of people at the forefront of the horde of Central American migrants that has been headed toward the United States for the past several weeks, stormed past past Mexican riot police and rushed the U.S. border at the port of entry in San Ysidro, California. Many of them threw rocks at U.S. authorities and were repelled by rounds of tear gas shot by border agents. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency reports that some of the would-be border-crossers “attempted to illegally enter the U.S. through both the northbound and southbound vehicle lanes at the port of entry itself” but “were stopped and turned back to Mexico.”

    The entity chiefly responsible for organizing and leading this horde of migrants – euphemistically dubbed a “caravan” by most media outlets – is Pueblo Sin Fronteras (PSF, “People Without Borders”), a Chicago-based nonprofit organization founded in 2001 by Roberto Corona, a Mexican-born activist dedicated to promoting the rights of illegal aliens in the United States. PSF is a sister group to two other Chicago-based entities, Centro Sin Fronteras (CSF) and its outgrowth, La Familia Latina Unida (LFLU, “The United Latin Family”).

    PSF is a member of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON), which seeks to “protect and expand [the] civil, labor, and human rights” of day laborers in America, of whom approximately 75% are illegal aliens. Moreover, NDLON aims to “mobilize” and “organize” these workers as a unified, politically active demographic, and to force employers to establish “safer more humane environments” wherein day laborers can “earn a living” that enables them to “contribute to society and integrate into the community.”

    “Sweden,” stated its government in November 2015, “has a feminist government. We place gender equality at the heart of both national and international work… The overall objective of the Government’s gender equality policy is equal power for women and men to shape society and their own lives. This is ultimately a question of democracy and social justice.”

    Wait a minute. Shouldn’t women living under a “feminist government” be able — at a bare minimum — to leave their homes without the fear of becoming victims of sexual assault?

    22,000 sexual crimes were reported in 2017 to the Swedish police, 7370 of them rapes, according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brottsförebyggande rådet, or Brå). That number corresponds to an average of 20 reported rapes per day — twice as many as in 2005. Those are just the reported rapes. In 2012, for instance, only 20% of all rapes were reported to the police, according to Brå.
