“Trump, Touring Fire Ruins in California, Repeats Disputed Claim on Forest Management”
        By Thomas Fuller – November 17, 2018

        Excerpts:

In a Twitter post last weekend, the president said that “there is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor.” Experts said the president was wrong to point to forest management — many wildfires in California, including the Woolsey Fire in the south, have started in shrub land, not forests. They also point out that forest management in California is largely a federal responsibility; around 60 percent of the 33 million acres of forests in the state is owned by the federal government.

The Camp Fire, which has burned through 149,000 acres and is only about half contained, is the deadliest in California history. It has destroyed 9,891 homes, 367 commercial buildings and more than 2,500 other structures.

The flames have decimated a part of the state that is sometimes referred to as the other California: a rural area of rice farms, almond and apple orchards and the evergreen forests of the Sierra Nevada. It is also a Republican enclave in a state that turned even more blue in the midterm elections.

The far north of California, a bloc of 13 counties that voted for Mr. Trump two years ago, makes up more than a fifth of the state’s land mass but only 3 percent of its population.

A crowd of about 200 people, some of them wearing Make America Great Again hats and carrying Trump flags, gathered Saturday morning to meet Mr. Trump at the airport in Chico, a city on the edge of the devastated area. One of the few suggestions of dissent came from a protester along the route of the president’s motorcade who held a sign that said, “Moron, we’re in a drought.”

  2. Germany: Rejected Afghan asylum seeker stabs pensioner in his apartment to death — He was entrusted with nursing the pensioner for a week+++
Yesterday around 2:00 am the pensioner Dietrich P. was killed with a knife in his detached house in Wittenburg. A 20-year-old Afghan citizen, against whom the Schwerin District Court issued an arrest warrant yesterday for malicious killing at the request of the Schwerin Public Prosecutor’s Office, is urgently suspected. The defendant is a rejected asylum seeker who currently has a tolerated status from a Saxon authority until the end of January 2019. He was personally acquainted with the victim and in August 2018 was entrusted with the care of the pensioner for one week. At the time of the crime, he was to carry out auxiliary work on the victim’s house. One of the reasons the crime was solved so quickly was that a Bosnian domestic helper, who lived in the pensioner’s house with him, had seen the accused’s attack via a camera in a baby-phone. The first fleeing suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon and then brought before the magistrate, who ordered him to be remanded in custody. The motive for the crime is still unclear. There are no indications of a politically/religiously motivated crime.

  3. Germany: Scarcely any Muslim wants to nurse the elderly infidels in need of care+++
With the help of several recruitment programmes, the Employment Agency has only placed 2,500 nursing staff from non-EU countries in Germany over the past six years. According to a forecast by the Ministry of Social Affairs, between 21,000 and 52,000 employees will be lacking in nursing care for the elderly alone by 2030.Politically, people have long been prepared to let every Tom, Dick and Harry overrun the old people in need of care. However, the results of the programme appear to be different, according to the medical journal Ärzteblatt. Between 2013 and October 2018, 2,385 nurses from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Tunisia and the Philippines were recruited. However, only 39 nurses were recruited from China in another recruitment project. So far, 85 qualified employees from Mexico have been placed with employers in Germany. In 2017 the weekly “Der Spiegel” was still arguing for the alleged advantages of mass immigration for Germans from the predominantly Muslim regions of this world and pondering a “hopeful simultaneity” which could be shown by the fact that “thousands of young people hungry for education have come to the country”. To integrate refugees into the care sector would be a “win-win situation”.The Green Party – in particular its “shining light” and its chairman Robert Habeck – put himself in the limelight by the campaign tactics – spoke out in favour of rewarding “refugees”, 85 percent of whom come from Islamic culture, with a residence permit if they agreed to work in nursing homes and hospitals. The incompatibility between the believing Muslims and the German Kuffars to be cared for seems to be either not clear to the Green officials, as well as to all Islam belittling people, or simply indifferent. Neither has the separation of the sexes demanded by Islam taken place in German nursing homes nor has it been clarified how to deal with the manifold “peculiarities” of the Islamic faith. According to the Islamic view, the impurity of the believer in good faith occurs solely through the touching of bodily fluids, through sleep and powerlessness, touching the intimate area, flatulence, use of a toilet, touching a corpse or a person of the opposite sex, alcohol, blood and pork, as well as the products made from them.Even meat that has not been halal slaughtered is classified as a substance prohibited by the Koran. Medicines with pig fat and alcohol admixture are likewise controversial for the Muslim care worker, Wolfgang Prabel states in an article for the magazine Geolitico.Already now – without Islamic sensitivities of Muslim nursing staff – mistreatments of people in need of care, who can no longer defend themselves, occur again and again. “The owners of the nursing facilities must take a closer look at their employees, and not less critically,” was the claim made to the Green Party, like the liberal advocates of migrant nursing staff.

    • That’s OK. Poor nursing care will create the opportuniy for more billable hours for professionals to remedy the situations created! 4. Ignored for being ‘MIDDLE CLASS’: Social services dismissed child victims of UK’s largest Asian grooming gang because they lived in homes with ‘nice kitchens and conservatories’, claims charity (dailymail, Nov 17, 2018)
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6400545/Social-services-ignored-victims-UKs-largest-Asian-grooming-gang-middle-class.html

“Middle class victims of Britain’s largest Asian child sex ring were ignored for ‘not being poor enough’ when social workers visited their ‘nice’ homes, claims charity chief.

Parents Against Child Explotation (Pace) have revealed that they believe the children were let down by social workers who thought that the children from wealthier families were ‘rebelling’, reports the Express.

Labour MP Barry Sheerman said the people believed the children involved in the case were from tough backgrounds and in care, but in reality a lot of the families were ‘middle class’.

The abuse of young girls by Asian men in the Huddersfield area was first alerted by Pace in 2000, which led Mr Sheerman to encourage Parliament to take the issue more seriously.

Pace chief executive Gill Gibbons said that the system which protects children is ‘unfit for purpose’, after Ofsted slammed Kirkless Council children’s services last year for not ‘improving quick enough’. ..”

  5. French MP Proposes Muslims Adopt French Names to Become Citizens, Extend Ban on Islamic Headscarves (breitbart, Nov 18, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2018/11/18/french-mp-proposes-muslims-adopt-french-names-become-citizens-extend-ban-hijab/

“French conservative Republican MP Julien Aubert has put his name behind a series of migrant integration proposals that would include banning the Islamic headscarf in public institutions and make Muslims adopt French names to become citizens.

The proposals come from a new 50-page booklet entitled the “Tricolore Booklet on the Islam(s) of France,” which lists 18 proposals in total, published by the Oser la France movement which was formed by Aubert last year, France3 reports.

According to the booklet, the group say they would like to see all Muslim migrants acquiring citizenship from naturalisation, marriage, or by being born in France, to change at least one of their names to a traditional French name.

“It would show a desire for integration (for the adults) and, for the children allow them, if they wish, to change their usual first name by inverting it with a second or third name more adapted to the national culture,” Mr Aubert said.

Aubert also defended the proposed extended ban on the Islamic headscarf saying, “The coexistence of micro-nations in the same territory can only lead to confrontation.”

The ban would see the headscarf prohibited in public institutions such as publicly owned companies and universities. The ban, according to Aubert, could also extend to the streets under certain conditions.

The booklet also cited a Jordanian study which claimed that the Islamic veil stunted development in children, contributed to vitamin D deficiency, and even led to hair loss, as reasons to ban pre-pubescent girls from wearing the garment.

The role of Islam in French society has been a heated source of debate in the past several years with President Emmanuel Macron proposing reforms in the way Islam operates in the country including reforming the foreign financing of mosques, as well as the influence of foreign nations on Islam in France…”

  6. Poll: Support for Increase in Muslim Immigration Collapses in Australia (breitbart, Nov 18, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/middle-east/2018/11/18/poll-support-for-increase-in-muslim-immigration-collapses-in-australia/

“Australian voter support for a lift in immigration of Muslims has collapsed in the wake of last week’s Islamic State-inspired terror attack in Melbourne.

According to a Fairfax Media Ipsos poll, support for an increase in Muslim immigration dropped from 23 percent to a bare 14 percent between October and November, the Australian Financial Review reports.

Just 35 percent of those polled believe the intake should stay the same. Another 46 percent believe the intake should be reduced a lot or a little – a position backed by a clear majority of supporters of the governing conservative coalition and one third of Labor voters.

The survey comes after the Bourke Street terror attack by Somali immigrant Hassan Khalif Shire Ali and amid growing calls from some conservative members of Parliament to slash migration from Muslim-majority nations.

Australia is a nation built on immigration and has historically opened its arms to people from around the world looking to start a new life Down Under.

Attitudes have been slowly shifting in the past seven years however, amid terrorist attacks and heightened political debate about migration, according to annual research by the Scanlon Foundation on social cohesion.

While 31.9 per cent of respondents said they had a positive attitude to Muslims in 2010, this slipped to 28.3 per cent in the Scanlon research in 2017. The proportion with a negative attitude rose from 23.5 per cent to 25 per cent, but there was no consistent year-on-year trend up or down over the period.

A little over 12 months ago another survey revealed a majority of Australian voters believe the country is full and almost half support a partial ban on new Muslim arrivals…”

  12. WW3: Putin re-opening Soviet-era military bases on CUBA as Trump ramps up nuke threat

RUSSIA is reactivating a Soviet-era signals intelligence base in Cuba and experts think even more could open to increase its surveillance on the US.

Concern has been raised among the West that the plans are Russian retaliation after the US announced it was pulling out of the bilateral Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.

According to The Jamestown Foundation – a Washington DC-based institute for research and analysis, founded in 1984 as a platform to support Soviet defectors – the re-opening of the base would “duplicate rather than significantly add to Russian abilities to monitor US activities in the Caribbean”.

But the think-tank warns: “If the Kremlin leader should decide to establish additional bases in Cuba, as some Russian commentators are now suggesting, that would be a different matter altogether—particularly if he succeeds in this goal.”

  13. Looters plunder Albania’s sunken treasures

Vlora (Albania) (AFP) – Albania’s long underexplored coastal waters have become a hotspot for treasure hunters scooping up ancient pottery, sunken ship parts and other shell-encrusted relics that have lain on the seabed for centuries.

The 450-kilometre (280-mile) coastline, which is lapped by the Adriatic and Ionian seas, was off-limits under the communist regime which ruled the Balkan state until 1990, with orders to shoot anyone caught diving without authorisation.

But today its waters are open, luring archaeologists but also looters eager to plumb the new territory and sell their finds on the art and metals markets.

“Much of this wealth resting at the depth of 20-30 metres (66-99 feet) is easily accessible without any special equipment and has almost completely disappeared without a trace,” said Albanian archaeologist and art historian Neritan Ceka, among those calling for urgent measures to protect the underwater heritage.

While diving at the beginning of the 1980s — under communism, archaeologists and soldiers were permitted — he was one of the first to see for himself the seabed treasures, he said.

  14. Migrant caravan meets hostility in Tijuana: ‘Go back to your country!’

TIJUANA, Mexico — Many of the nearly 3,000 Central American migrants who have reached the Mexican border with California via caravan said they do not feel welcome in the city of Tijuana, where hundreds more migrants are headed after more than a month on the road.

The vast majority were camped at an outdoor sports complex, sleeping on a dirt baseball field and under bleachers with a view of the steel walls topped by barbed wire at the newly reinforced U.S.-Mexico border. The city opened the complex after other shelters were filled to capacity. Church groups provided portable showers, bathrooms and sinks. The federal government estimates the migrant crowd in Tijuana could soon swell to 10,000.

Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum has called the migrants’ arrival an “avalanche” that the city is ill-prepared to handle, calculating that they will be in Tijuana for at least six months as they wait to file asylum claims. U.S. border inspectors are processing only about 100 asylum claims a day at Tijuana’s main crossing to San Diego. Asylum seekers register their names in a tattered notebook managed by migrants themselves that had more than 3,000 names even before the caravan arrived.

While many in Tijuana are sympathetic to the migrants’ plight and trying to assist, some locals have shouted insults, hurled rocks and even thrown punches at the migrants.

  15. Macron’s popularity falls to 25 percent: poll

Paris (AFP) – The popularity of French President Emmanuel Macron has dropped to just 25 percent, according to a major tracker poll published on Sunday.

The poll by research group Ifop was published in the Journal du Dimanche a day after a nationwide “yellow vest” protest against high fuel prices that analysts say has come to represent widespread frustration with the 40-year-old president.

The results of the widely watched poll showed an overall fall of four points in November from the previous month, with only four percent of respondents saying they were “very satisfied” with Macron’s performance, while 21 percent were “mostly satisfied”.

Thirty-four percent were “mostly dissatisfied” while 39 percent were “very dissatisfied”, according to the poll.

The survey was conducted between November 9-17 on 1,957 people.

  16. Georgia Democratic state senator arrested during election protests
By Rusty Weiss November 17, 20

Georgia State Senator Nikema Williams was arrested Tuesday as protesters filled the State Capitol to demand ballots be recounted from last week’s election, including the hotly contested race for governor.

The Democratic state senator was hauled off to Fulton County jail as supporters of Stacey Abrams tried to persuade officials to count thousands of disallowed votes, so she could force a runoff against Republican Brian Kemp.

It is the latest in a long line of examples in which Democrats seem incapable of accepting election results and are trying to rewrite history from last Tuesday.

Williams was led out of the rotunda with hands zip-tied behind her back after Capitol police ordered the protesters out. Lawmakers had met to discuss disbursing funds for hurricane relief when the mob activity broke out. The law prohibits people from interrupting the state legislature with “loud, threatening, or abusive language.”

    • This is the destruction of the peaceful exchange of power, one more nail in the coffin of rule of law and of civilization. The Dems aren’t so stupid that they don’t know what they are doing is going to end in massive violence. They may be so dumb they think we will be terrorized by their terror tactics and not fight back. If they do believe this they are very very mistaken.

      • Yup there is nothing democratic about them, they don’t believe in fair and honest elections where the people choose their leaders. They want staged elections where the wanna be dictators choose which one gets to lead for a while.

  17. True scale of county lines gangs may have been underestimated (express, Nov 18, 2018)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1046966/drug-dealing-gangs-uk-police-crime

“THE true scale of the “county lines” drug dealing epidemic blighting the UK may have been underestimated, police admit.

New figures suggest National Crime Agency statistics for the number of mobile phone hotlines used by cross-border drug dealers are far too low. Katy Bourne, the Sussex police and crime commissioner, revealed in her county there are thought to be 200 drug-deal lines while the crime agency estimates the total number nationally at between 1,500 and 2,000. County lines involve criminals in London and other cities sending dealers to suburbs, market towns and coastal resorts to feed growing habits, while risking violent turf wars.

Gangs coerce vulnerable people and children as young as 12 into selling drugs in far-flung areas using dedicated mobile phone numbers. A report by police, education, care and probation inspectorates has warned private school pupils are being groomed as police are less likely to stop them.

All 45 police forces in England and Wales, plus the British Transport Police, have reported county lines activity in the past two years and antislavery legislation is being used to combat it.

In evidence to a home affairs select committee inquiry on gang violence, Ms Bourne wrote: “The demand from county lines remains high in Sussex with over 200 unique lines requiring assessment and analysis.”

The county is thought to be plagued by about 52 gangs peddling crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis through the drugs lines.

A statement from West Sussex county council said: “We have already begun to provide training on child exploitation and modern slavery to frontline staff.”

The Met police refused to release individual figures but a spokesman said: “I think all experts on county lines have consistently said the numbers given are an underestimate as it is very difficult to put a number on it.

“The crime agency is in the process of creating a comprehensive map of county lines across England and Wales.”

Essex Police also have a large number of county lines. A spokeswoman said: “Intelligence suggests we currently have approximately 134 drug-dealing gangs operating here.”

The crime agency estimates the number of hotlines has more than doubled in the past 12 months, from 740 to 1,500. A spokeswoman said reported numbers had risen since the opening of a national coordination centre, which keeps a better track.

Former Met detectives dismiss official estimates as very low. One ex-detective, who tweets under the pseudonym Frank Matthews, said: “The numbers are just plucked out of thin air. I understand there are 4,000 children in London involved in county lines.”

Last week Essex Police arrested 24 people linked to a gang, North Yorkshire arrested six people and Cornwall closed a crack house in Newquay.”

  20. Ohio House Passes Bill Banning Abortion After Heartbeat Begins
“Let us stand up for the most innocent among us”

The pro-life movement won a significant victory in Ohio this week, where the state House passed a bill that would ban abortions on unborn babies after a heartbeat is detected in the womb.

State House Bill 258 passed in a 58-35 vote and now moves to the state Senate for consideration. Should the state Senate approve the bill, most abortions in Ohio would be effectively banned.

“The controversial legislation would ban most abortions in Ohio if it becomes law,” reports LifeNews. “An unborn baby’s heart begins beating around six weeks, though new research suggests it may begin as early as 18 days after conception.”

Abortion providers could also be charged with a felony for breaking the law by killing a baby with a detected heartbeat.

At the end of January 2017, days after Donald Trump’s inauguration, I sat in a busy Pret a Manger sandwich bar in central London, a stone’s throw from the mother of parliaments, and flicked through snapshots of Donald Trump on a mobile phone.

The phone belonged to Andy Wigmore, an associate of Nigel Farage’s, the long-time leader of Britain’s insurgent anti-Europe campaign and latterly a friend and supporter of the man he refers to on his frequent appearances on Fox TV as “The Donald.” Wigmore, a businessman who has a sideline as a trade envoy to Belize, a Central American country known, among other things, for its sugar cane and money-laundering, had taken a photo of Farage and Trump standing in front of Trump’s golden elevator a month earlier. The photo went viral almost instantly.

This was Trump’s first meeting with a foreign politician, the man he called “Mr. Brexit,” and Wigmore was there for the ride alongside his business partner, a previously unremarkable insurance entrepreneur from Bristol in the west of England named Arron Banks. In the run-up to the 2016 Brexit referendum, Banks had given upward of £8 million to Nigel Farage’s successful Leave.EU campaign, an act that overnight had made him Britain’s biggest ever political donor.

  22. It Is Not Over, Arizona Election Results Being Audited For Election Fraud

GOP Audits Elections Office In County That Swung To Democrats

The Arizona Republican Party will conduct an independent audit of the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office after three statewide Republican candidates who initially led on election night saw their races swing the other way as outstanding ballots were counted.

Despite leading on election night and for some time afterward, GOP Rep. Martha McSally ultimately lost her Senate campaign to Democratic Rep. Kyrsten Sinema. The neck-and-neck race took almost a week to call. The former Air Force pilot initially led her Democratic challenger by about 16,000 votes the day after Election Day. However, the slow count of mail-in ballots pushed Sinema into the lead and eventually handed her victory.

McSally wasn’t the only Arizona Republican who saw her lead vanish as outstanding ballots trickled in.

Republican Frank Riggs initially led Democrat Kathy Hoffman in the race for Arizona superintendent of public instruction. He went on to lose about a week later. Katie Hobbs, the Democratic candidate for Arizona Secretary of State, had been trailing Republican Steve Gaynor on Election Day, and The Associated Press went so far as to project Gaynor the winner that night. However, after several days of ballot counting, the Democratic candidate is expected to win that race.

  25. “A Pure Genocide”: Extremist Persecution of Christians, June 2018

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/13312/pure-genocide

In what the Christian Association of Nigeria called a “pure genocide,” 238 more Christians were killed and churches desecrated by Muslims throughout the month of June. This brings the death toll of Christians to more than 6,000 between January and June of 2018 alone. According to a joint statement by the Christian Association, an umbrella group of various Christian denominations, “There is no doubt that the sole purpose of these attacks is aimed at ethnic cleansing, land grabbing and forceful ejection of the Christian natives from their ancestral land and heritage.” In one of the attacks, “over 200 persons were brutally killed and our churches destroyed without any intervention from security agencies in spite of several distress calls made to them.”

The majority of those 6,000 Christians massacred this year were “mostly children, women and the aged… What is happening in … Nigeria is pure genocide and must be stopped immediately.” The details of the murder of these thousands, though seldom reported, are often grisly; many were either hacked to death or beheaded with machetes; others were burned alive (including inside locked churches or homes); and women are often sexually assaulted or raped before being slaughtered.

  26. Why Hezbollah Is in Argentina

Threat analyses of Middle Eastern terror organizations in Latin American countries are now focusing on why Hezbollah is in Argentina.

On November 15, 2018, two Argentine citizens were arrested in Buenos Aires for their suspected connections to Hezbollah. They were discovered in possession of weapons — including a rifle, shotgun and a number of handguns — as well as “credentials in Arabic and an image of the Hezbollah flag” along with evidence of travel abroad.

Just this summer, Argentina’s government initiated a first strike against a Hezbollah fundraising network in the Triple Frontier (the junction between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil), where one of Hezbollah’s cash cow operations engages in drug trafficking and money laundering.

In 2002, the Bush administration identified the Triple Frontier as a hotbed for terrorism finance activities that included Hezbollah. Counter-terrorism experts have identified the Triple Frontier as the most important Hezbollah base outside of Lebanon.

A key question surrounding this story centers around the question of why we’re seeing Hezbollah-specific activity in Argentina. Part of the answer includes the fact that Argentina hosts a large Lebanese expat community. Hezbollah’s staunch anti-Israel views are culturally welcomed in Argentina, which has its own complex history. Argentina became an anti-Semitic conclave after World War II, when many high ranking Nazis fled Europe and found safe haven in Argentina.

More than 40 people have been killed and dozens wounded in Central African Republic (CAR), in an attack on a Catholic mission sheltering 20,000 refugees, according to a regional legislator.

The violence in the town of Alindao, some 300km east of the capital, Bangui, began on Thursday when Christian militiamen known as “Anti-balaka” killed Muslims, prompting revenge attacks.

A church was burned, forcing “thousands” of people to flee, the United Nations’ peacekeeping mission in the CAR (MINUSCA) said.

    [..]

The violence came just weeks about 10,000 people ran to a hospital in Batangafo, some 400km north of Bangui, after armed groups looted and burned thousands of homes, three camps hosting 27,000 displaced and a market in the city.

  28. Germany: Hundreds join far-right rally against UN migrant pact in Bonn

Hundreds of people attended a far-right Generation Identity rally in Bonn on Sunday against Germany’s signing onto the United Nations’ migration pact.

Protesters chanted “Fortress Europe, seal the borders” and held signs and placards attacking German Chancellor Angela Merkel and criticising the UN’s Global Compact for Migration.

Dozens of counter protesters rallied against the right-wing protest, with the two factions being held separate by police.

The non-legally binding Global Compact for Migration was concluded in July and is expected to be adopted by UN member states in December.

  29. Dem Candidate Was Member of Group Working Against U.S. Gov’t in El Salvador
Lisa Brown has admitted that she ‘worked in opposition to US policy in Central America’

A Democratic congressional candidate from Washington was a member of the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES), an anticapitalist organization that works against American policy toward El Salvador.

Lisa Brown, who is running against House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, was a member of CISPES, according to newspaper clippings from the Colorado Daily obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

“According to one of the newly chosen CISPES leaders, Gonzalo Santos, the national CISPES network came into being as a response to a direct appeal from the Salvadoran Revolutionary Democratic Front, a political coalition including people as diverse as Catholic priests and Marxist guerrillas,” reads one article from 1981. “The coalition claims to represent about 80 percent of the population and opposes the army-dominated junta which now runs El Salvador with the help of American economic and military aid.”

“Economics graduate student Lisa Brown, another of the newly chosen CISPES leaders, stressed that the organization is non-partisan, that its primary purpose is to stop the bloodbath in El Salvador,” the article continued.

  33. ederico Ortega awoke Saturday morning at his residence in Tijuana’s Zona Norte neighborhood, walked to the edge of his walled complex, and pushed open the steel door, where he was met with a shock — hundreds of migrants eating breakfast on the sidewalk outside his home.

“There was such a line that I couldn’t get out,” Ortega recalled hours later as he stood near that same steel door, his arms folded across an FC Barcelona soccer jersey.

He watched as a Tijuana pastor stood on the back bumper of a white church bus and spent hours handing out donated clothes to the Central American migrants who traveled to the border in a much-publicized caravan, with the hope of crossing into the United States.

The men, women and children lined up outside Ortega’s home on Calle Michoacan were some of the nearly 2,500 migrants who’ve found refuge at the municipal sports stadium that has been turned into a temporary shelter, the entrance of which sits less than 100 feet from Ortega’s residence.

Nearly 3,000 migrants — most of them from Honduras and Guatemala — have reached Tijuana, though there did not appear to be any new groups that arrived Saturday. But officials and Tijuana residents alike know that won’t last long.

The Mexican federal government estimates the migrant crowd in Tijuana could soon grow to 10,000.

And tensions have been rising as the number of migrants to reach the city has swelled. On Thursday night, a confrontation broke out in the well-to-do Playas de Tijuana area between a group of migrants and residents who were protesting their presence.

  34. Yemeni Troops Target Saudi-Backed Forces in Surprise Attack in Hudaydah (+Video) (tasnimnews, Nov 18, 2018)

“The Yemeni army and popular committees scored gains against Saudi mercenaries west of Hudaydah airport, managing to inflict casualties on their forces and military vehicles.

A video published by Yemeni media featuring the operation shows burned out equipment and dead bodies of the Saudi- backed forces in the battlefield. The Yemeni forces also seized significant amounts of military equipment from the enemy.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE launched an offensive on June 13 to capture Hudaydah, the main entry point for food in a country teetering on the brink of famine.

The operation, however, came into an immediate halt in the face of stiff resistance by Houthi Ansarullah movement fighters and residents of the port city, which forced the kingdom to wind down the push.”
