I’ve always maintained that North Koreans “escaping” to Red China was an indicator of just how bad circumstances are on the peninsula. Please pardon any insensitivity on my part, but that this young woman and her mother were repeatedly raped after fleeing across the frozen Yalu River is more an indictment of Communist China (and its male-dominated culture) than that of Pyongyang’s insane Autocracy.
None of which changes how intensely evil either so-called “government” is.
That, despite such immense hardship and abuse, Yong Mi Park has maintained her faith in humanity is nothing short of miraculous. How she has had the courage to step forward and expose Chicom human trafficking (especially of North Korean women) is beyond belief.
Please recall that Chinese men were, at one time, able to trade a 50 pound bag of rice for a nubile North Korean bride. While this is “old news”, I sincerely doubt that much has changed since then.
