Amsterdam attack suspect had ‘terrorist motive’
Authorities in Amsterdam say a 19-year-old Afghan citizen who was shot and detained after a double stabbing at the city’s main railway station had a “terrorist motive.”
The Dutch capital’s government said in a statement issued Saturday that investigators reached that conclusion based on the suspect’s first statements to police.
The suspect allegedly stabbed two American tourists on Friday before police shot and wounded him.
He holds a German residency permit and was identified as Jawed S. in line with Dutch privacy rules.
The Americans are recovering in a hospital. Their identities have not been released. The suspect also is hospitalized.
Amsterdam City Hall says German authorities searched the suspect’s home and seized data storage devices that would be analyzed as part of the investigation.
The suspect is to be arraigned Monday at a closed-door hearing. The exact charges he could face have not been released.

“Iranian intelligence officers arrested two human rights lawyers Payam Dorfeshan and Farrokh Forouzan Friday August 31, reported lawyer Mohammad Najafi on his Facebook page.
Dorfeshan and Keykhosravi are the defense lawyers of the family of Kavous Seyed Emami, an environmentalist who died in jail in February. The Iranian government claimed that Emami committed suicide, while his family and lawyers rule out the possibility of his suicide. Human rights activists have said that the cause of Emami’s death could have been torture or psychological pressure while in custody.
The two lawyers were arrested while visiting the family of Arash Kaykhosravi, a human rights lawyer who was detained last week with two other rights lawyers, Qasem Sholeh-Sadi and Massoud Javadieh in front of the Iranian Parliament while protesting the violations of civil rights by the Iranian government.
No reason has been given for the arrest of the two lawyers. The new arrests bring the number of Iranian human rights lawyers in jail in Tehran to more than ten.
Other human rights lawyers jailed in Iran for defending human rights include Abdolfattah Soltani, Mohammad Ali Dadkhah, Mohammad Seyfzadeh, Sara Sabbaghian, and Maryam Kian Ersi.
Iranian authorities also jailed Zeinab Taheri, the lawyer of the Gonabadi Sufis earlier in this year and released her on bail later. The Sufis’ other lawyer, Mostafa Daneshjou has also been in jail since July.
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have taken actions targeting human rights defenders and activists such as human right activist Narges Mohammadi, and Farhad Meysami, a human rights defender who was arrested by Intelligence Ministry officials on August 1 for protesting compulsory hijab laws.
International human rights watchdogs such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have reported about the Iranian government’s mounting pressures on human rights lawyers and defenders since President Hassan Rouhani first took office as President in Iran in 2013.
Human Rights Watch Middle East Director Sarah Leah Whitson said in an August 17 statement that “Iranian authorities blatantly disregard due process rights of human rights defenders such as prominent lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh” who has been in jail since late May…”

Two prosecutors leave Mueller’s office
Washington (CNN)Prosecutors Ryan Dickey and Brian Richardson are no longer working for the office of special counsel Robert Mueller, the Justice Department confirmed.
Both lawyers were relatively junior but frequently spotted members of Mueller’s corps. Both have worked on court cases that Mueller opened as part of his investigation into Russian interference and coordination with the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential election.
Peter Carr, a spokesman for the special counsel, declined to explain on Thursday what the departures mean for the state of Mueller’s office.
Over this summer, as Mueller opened more criminal cases, other Justice Department units including the US Attorney’s Office in Washington and the National Security Division have begun to work on the court action, wedging the cases deeper into the Justice Department’s portfolio.
Carr said that neither Dickey nor Richardson left the office because of political allegations, the appearance of bias or any other wrongdoing.
That signals that their departures appear to differ from the situation of Peter Strzok, a top FBI agent moved off of Mueller’s team after it was discovered he sent text messages that disparaged President Donald Trump and commented on the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

California police fight statewide marijuana deliveries
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A growing dispute over where legal marijuana can be delivered in California is unsettling the nation’s largest pot market.
Police chiefs on Friday lined up against a proposed state rule that critics say would allow unchecked home marijuana deliveries anywhere in California — even in communities that have banned cannabis sales.
The California Police Chiefs Association, League of California Cities and United Food and Commercial Workers Western States Council have set up a website that depicts wide-eyed children gesturing toward a pot delivery van outside a school. They are asking opponents to sign an online petition.
“Regulated marijuana dispensaries have tough security, checks for identity and legal age and strictly licensed workers. If marijuana can be delivered anywhere with virtually no regulation, California will lose these safeguards,” council executive director James Araby said in a statement.

Exclusive: U.S. accuses China of ‘super aggressive’ spy campaign on LinkedIn
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States’ top spy catcher said Chinese espionage agencies are using fake LinkedIn accounts to try to recruit Americans with access to government and commercial secrets, and the company should shut them down.
William Evanina, the U.S. counter-intelligence chief, told Reuters in an interview that intelligence and law enforcement officials have told LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft Corp., about China’s “super aggressive” efforts on the site.
He said the Chinese campaign includes contacting thousands of LinkedIn members at a time, but he declined to say how many fake accounts U.S. intelligence had discovered, how many Americans may have been contacted and how much success China has had in the recruitment drive.
German and British authorities have previously warned their citizens that Beijing is using LinkedIn to try to recruit them as spies. But this is the first time a U.S. official has publicly discussed the challenge in the United States and indicated it is a bigger problem than previously known.

Study: Thousands of foreign nationals were registered to vote in 13 jurisdictions

More than 3,000 foreign nationals were removed from voter rolls across 13 sanctuary jurisdictions from 2006 to 2018, according to Public Interest Legal Foundation research released Monday.
The study, which collected data on 13 sanctuary cities and counties in seven different states, discovered that approximately 3,120 non-U.S. citizens had been removed, and that some of those non-citizens had cast votes in U.S. elections. According to Police Oracle, a plan set to be launched next week will see every force create a “gold group at chief officer level focused on diversity”, with identity politics to be made a major priority.
Senior officers, staff associations, and members of various “communities” will work together towards meeting so-called diversity targets, the law enforcement news outlet said.
These will reportedly be set by local mayors, Police and Crime Commissioners, and Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) — the last of which was first tasked with transforming Britain’s “too white” police forces by then-Home Secretary Theresa May in 2015.
She also ordered the inspectorate to force “radical change” on Britain’s fire brigades, which she slammed for being “96 percent white and 95 percent male” and supposedly plagued by a “toxic” culture of “harassment”.
Committing police chiefs to “embedding diversity, equality and inclusion” into the heart of their forces’ every activity, the strategy comes with a “toolkit” of actions to increase minority representation, including making “emotional health and happiness” a priority and bringing in “reverse mentoring” schemes in which lower ranked officers will train their seniors in so-called “emotional intelligence”.
Forces will also be told to introduce flexible working practices enabling time off for cultural or religious observance, as well as launching initiatives celebrating “culturally-focused events such as major religious festivals and Black History Month”….”

Ehe die Sommerferien starteten fuhr eine Klasse einer Berliner Grundschule mit 38 Kindern nach Schloss Kröchlendorff. Dort sollten sie Teamgeist erlernen, doch es kam alles ganz anders.
Schon untertags wurde ein Zehnjähriger von seinen Mitschülern bedroht. „Wir f***en dich heute“, sollen sie ihm immer wieder gesagt haben. Wahrscheinlich aus Angst schwieg der Bub und erzählte den Lehrern nichts. Am Abend desselben Tages machten die anderen ihre brutale Drohung schließlich ernst.
Zwei Elfjährige hielten den Buben fest. Sein zehnjähriger Mitschüler vergewaltigte ihn schließlich. Zwei weitere Schüler beobachteten den Missbrauch, schritten aber nicht ein. Das berichtet die „Bild“ online.
Von den drei Lehrerinnen und dem einen Erzieher habe niemand etwas mitbekommen. Erst eineinhalb Wochen später soll ein Freund des Opfers einem Sozialarbeiter an der Schule von den schrecklichen Geschehnissen erzählt haben. Nach Bekanntwerden des Vorfalls habe man sofort Eltern und Polizei verständigt. Für die Täter folgte ein Schulverweis.
Schulverweis für Täter
Der Haupttäter ist mit seinen 10 Jahren strafunmündig, fiel aber schon früher durch seine Gewaltbereitschaft auf. Der junge Afghane, der auch im Iran gelebt haben soll, habe immer wieder seine Mitschüler gehauen. Nun wird ein psychologisches Gutachten von ihm erstellt. Demnach wird damit gerechnet, dass der Junge in keine normale Schule mehr zurück könne.
Auch die beiden elfjährigen Mittäter erhielten einen Schulverweis. Der Afghane und der Iraker wurden bereits an einer anderen Schule untergebracht. Ich bin entsetzt über diesen schockierenden Fall. Es muss alles getan werden, um das geschädigte Kind und die Familie zu unterstützen“, wird Bildungssenatorin Sandra Scheeres in der „Bild“ zitiert. Das junge Opfer wird ebenfalls eine andere Schule besuchen. Wie es heißt, wolle der Bub nicht mehr in seine alte Klasse zurück.
Es ist nicht der erste Fall von Gewalt an dieser Schule. Das Bildungszentrum liegt in einem sozialen Brennpunkt.

“I heard a loud bang shortly before 5 am, and my window flew right away and the blinds crashed. It was extreme. I have never lived something like this. There was an extreme bright light, and I could see the big flames. Then I checked how to get out, I was in shock,” one resident said.
“This morning at 5 am there was a big bang. We were in bed and went out to the balcony and saw a big fire column. 15 minutes later there were more small explosions, then only fire and smoke. Then, the fire brigade came. We went to bed, but sleeping was impossible,” another recalled.
“I thought it was a thunder. I went out and looked over to the refinery and saw that it was burning,” added another Ingolstadt local.
The refinery of the Bayernoil company exploded for causes still unknown on Friday evening and since then, a fire has been raging in the area. Eight people were injured, three of them with serious injuries.
The explosion forced 1800 residents in the district of Pfaffenhofen to be evacuated. Authorities are also asking residents within a 20 km (12.5 miles) radius to close windows and doors because of the smoke.

On September 1, Muslim terrorists from the North Caucasus region seized the school and held 1,000 people captive for three days without food or water.
The siege ended on September 3, leaving 334 dead, the youngest victim was only two years old.

Berlin has vowed to boost its funding for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees after Washington announced it is cutting planned aid on Friday.
The German government is planning a significant increase in its aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNWRA), in attempt to help the agency overcome a funding crisis.

Up to 50 migrants were stopped by Bosnian police yesterday after they were found in a cargo train headed for Serbia.
The train stopped on Friday had been carrying coal and was halted near the Bosnian border town of Zvornik on the banks of the River Drina.
As the train was stopped, some of the migrants onboard jumped out and started running with many racing back to Serbia.
A group remained on the train and were then turned back to Serbia.
Local police gave no further details, but added that asylum seekers that mostly came from Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and Pakistan reach Serbia via Albania and Montenegro.
Bosnia had not been on the well-trodden migrant route through the Balkans to European Union nations until earlier this year when arrivals jumped.
About 11,000 people from Asia and North Africa have been registered as arriving so far this year.
A police source who asked not to be named said: “Migrants are crossing the River Drina (the border between Serbia and Bosnia).
“They pay between €250 to €300 (£225) to smugglers to take them over the Drina.”
A police source said that some go to beaches on the Serbian side pretending to be tourists and then swim to the Bosnian side before walking west to attempt to cross into other EU member state Croatia…”

“BRITISH fishermen rescued four distressed migrants who had been stranded at sea for two days aboard a small inflatable dinghy just miles away from Dover.
Three men and a woman, aged 27, 30, 35 and 37 were spotted by the crew of the Royal Charlotte, a charter fishing boat, at approximately 10am on Saturday.
The four migrants, thought to be from Iran, were drifting on Goodwin Sands, a 10-mile sandbank off the town of Deal, not far from Dover.
The man who led the rescue mission, Royal Charlotte skipper Matt Coker, recalled the moments he first approached the dinghy.
He told Sky News: “We could see they were in distress.
“There was so much panic in their faces.”
Explaining one of the migrants started using a red t-shirt to catch the crew’s attention, he continued: “‘Initially they were waving just oars, and then as we got closer they had t-shirts on the oars and they were frantically waving.”
According to the skipper, the dinghy the migrants were on was only meant to carry three people.
Their condition was made worse by the fact the inflatable didn’t have any engine and they had to share three paddles between the four of them.
He added the migrants were “very lucky” the sea has been “flat calm” during the past few days, as their lives would have been seriously endangered on such a small boat with rough sea.
The rescue operation was carried out by Mr Coker and the 12 angler aboard the Royal Charlotte.
Welcoming the migrants on their fishing boat, the crew offered the distressed four water and clothes.
