  1. Junk Science and Leftist Folklore Have Set California Ablaze
How left-wing “global warming” policies are torching the West Coast.
    August 17, 2018
    Bruce Thornton

The Left Coast is burning. Oregon is fighting 13 wildfires encompassing 185,000 acres. California is battling 19 fires, including tornados of fire called “fire whirls,” which have gobbled up 577,000 acres and left eight dead. A good progressive who never lets a crisis go to waste, Governor Jerry Brown told Californians, “With climate change, some scientists are saying that Southern California is literally burning up.” He warned that man-made global warming created a “new normal,” and that “more serious predictions of warming and fires to occur later in the century, 2040 or 2050, [are] now occurring in real time.”

A few days later Brown had a tweet-duel with President Trump, who in contrast claimed, “California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws,” like those against thinning and clearing forests: “Tree clear to stop fire spreading!” Seems like on this issue, the allegedly doltish Trump has the better argument than the Berkeley and Yale-trained Brown.

Indeed, doctor of environmental science and forester Bob Zybach for years has been the Cassandra warning about misguided policies on forest management. According to Zybach, wildfires began to increase in the late 70’s, at the same time policies moved away from active management of forests to a more hands-off “natural” approach. In the past, “Mostly fuels were removed through logging, active management — which they [the Feds] stopped– and grazing,” Zybach said in an interview. “You take away logging, grazing, and maintenance, and you get firebombs.”

The media isn’t just the enemy of the people. It’s the enemy of facts, truth and integrity. And, believe it or not, the media can do plenty of non-Trump and non-Republican fake news. Especially CNN which is half as reliable as a broken clock and twice as malicious, mendacious and malignant.

CNN had scored with “Escape from the Mayo Clinic” a series on a mother who supposedly escaped from the Mayo Clinic with her adult daughter. Throughout the story, CNN kept mentioning that the Mayo Clinic had sought guardianship of the daughter, but not why. It turned out that there’s a few very pertinent details that CNN had left out of its story.

In one survey, 75% of tech entrepreneurs voted for Hillary Clinton. 8.8% voted for Trump. 83% back higher taxes, 82% support gun control and another 82% are in favor of socialized medicine.

Google, Microsoft, Apple and Amazon employees were 4 out of 5 of Bernie Sanders’ top donors. Cash from Google, Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft poured into the Clinton campaign. $1.6 million was donated by Google employees to Hillary Clinton and Google employee money is still pouring into competitive congressional races in the midterm elections. The same is true across the tech spectrum.

People have a right to their own political views. But that’s an idea that today’s Silicon Valley rejects.

The internet was born through universities, hobbyists and neglected labs. It was experimentally libertarian. Two generations later it’s controlled by a handful of monopolistic tech firms whose leaders and employees are dogmatically leftist. Most users haven’t cared much as the local BBS and then the forum gave way to centralized platforms like Facebook. But centralization represented a cultural and political shift. Freedom ceased to be part of the internet’s innate technological DNA and instead became an eccentricity that Big Tech temporarily tolerated because it made the tech companies money.

If radical Islamic clerics thought they were immune to terror threats themselves, then they have now been disabused of that notion. Last month in France, instead of the predictable pattern of arrests of Islamic jihadists plotting deadly terrorist attacks; this time, the jihadists were apparently the targets themselves. This turn of events signals France’s accelerated spiral into lawless violence.
The French newspaper Le Figaro reported that police in June took ten people into custody for allegedly targeting for attack “radical imams, veiled women and convicted jihadists released from prison.” (There are currently 512 people convicted on terrorism charges in French prisons.) The arrests were made in the Paris region, Corsica, and in Charante-Maritime.

“This group was aiming for ‘targets presumed in connection with radical Islam,’ ” a source told Le Figaro.

Raids on several homes turned up “rifles, pistols, and homemade grenades” and police reported this “groupuscule” (small group) “trained regularly at sport shooting clubs and had prepared arms caches and food supplies in case of a major crisis.” (Which makes one wonder whether they were “ultra-right” terrorists or simply survivalists.)

The surprising feature about this group is its composition. It is not one that is usually associated with the “ultra-right” — namely young, skinhead, neo-Nazi types. The ten, for the most part, are family fathers and range in age from 32 to 69 without prior arrest records, and one member is female. And the presumed leader of the group is also a retired national policeman.

Muslim convert Everitt Jameson targeted Pier 39 in San Francisco for a “perfect” Christmas day attack.

    Lloyd Billingsley

Muslim convert Everitt Jameson, a former Marine sharpshooter from Modesto, California, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for plotting to attack Pier 39 in San Francisco on Christmas Day, 2017.

“There is no place in the United States for terrorists and terrorist sympathizers who threaten innocent people,” assistant attorney general for national security John Demers told reporters. “Jameson put his fellow Americans at risk by supporting ISIS and planning an attack on behalf of the terrorist organization. This is unacceptable, and I am grateful for the hardworking agents and prosecutors who are responsible for this successful result.”

Jameson told undercover agents he admired Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, the Islamic terrorists who murdered 14 in San Bernardino in December 2015. Jameson also drew inspiration from Sayfullo Saipov, the Uzbek Muslim who killed eight people in New York last October by running them down with a rented truck.

The former Marine, who called himself Abdallah abu Everitt ibn Gordon al-Amriki, planned to set off pipe bombs at the busy San Francisco pier and as people fled gun them down with an assault rifle. As he explained, Christmas was the “perfect day” for such an attack, in which he expected to die.

A clear and present danger is eliminated.

    Ari Lieberman

The spasm of Hamas-provoked violence that gripped the Gaza Strip and parts of southern Israel last week has temporarily halted for the time being. According to credible reports, Israel informed Cairo that it would begin targeting Hamas leaders and commanders if Hamas failed to rein in its assorted thugs and gangsters. Hamas heeded the call, and for good reason.

Over the years, Israel’s various security branches have developed a penchant for liquidating dangerous enemies who seek to inflict harm on the Jewish State. Hamas is keenly aware of this fact having recently lost two of its operatives – Mohammad Zawari and Fadi Muhammad al-Batsh– under mysterious, cloak and dagger-like circumstances. Both were senior members of the terrorist group, and both were responsible for developing and advancing Hamas’s militarized drone program. Zawari was killed in December 2016 while in Tunisia while al-Batsh was liquidated in Malaysia just four months ago. In both cases, the culprits made a clean getaway.

While Israel’s security establishment is keeping watch over Hamas and the southern border, it hasn’t for a moment let up on its vigilance against Iran and its proxy Hezbollah, entities which pose the greatest menace to Israel’s north. Hezbollah receives $800-$1b annually in aid from Iran and has been able to amass a rocket arsenal of some 125,000 rockets and missiles. This formidable stockpile dwarfs the arsenals of nearly all NATO-member states. Hezbollah has also been constructing underground factories in Lebanon capable of producing long-range missiles.

The media wanted last August’s “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville to be the next “Bridge to Selma,” an iconic civil rights moment honored by the entire country every year. All week, there were excited announcements of the coming anniversary this past Sunday.

Assured of fawning media coverage, thousands of leftists descended on Charlottesville and Washington, D.C., to march against nonexistent “Nazis.” But we haven’t heard so much about the anniversary since then.

Last year, President Trump blamed “both sides” for the bedlam at the rally to defend Confederate statues — sending the media into a moral panic. Naturally, Trump also denounced white supremacy, for anyone who missed it the first million times he did so. But the part of his remarks that sent a shock wave through the media was this:

“You had a group on one side, and you had a group on the other, and they came at each other with clubs — and it was vicious and it was horrible. And it was a horrible thing to watch. … Yes, I think there’s blame on both sides. You look at both sides — I think there’s blame on both sides. And I have no doubt about it, and you don’t have any doubt about it either.”

The tyrannical Nicolas Maduro and assorted party members enjoying the rarified air atop the Andes summit of totalitarianism and overlooking the disjointed legions of human suffering and strife of a once proud and prosperous people, must now realize that the vast sum of accumulated wrongs, do not equate to an honorary right?

Of course they don’t, as the overseers of a diabolical and exploitative working model of socialism, serve cake and punch at their annual attempts to facilitate a feasible think tank, which instead quickly degrades to an ineffectual jolly gathering highlighted by unintelligible nonsense.

With the inflation rate of the Maduro regime at a workable 32,714% and the educated and skilled upper middle class of Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers and STEM professionals combing the countryside for sustenance in a fruitless attempt to avoid starvation, the government is now investing in the wild west frontier marketplace of the decentralized bitcoin market, reports the Express, and the nuances and volatility of the complex blockchain is completely lost on party members.

“Those who want to pass the Sharia law over the Austrian laws and want to bring upon us a theocracy in place of our democracy belong in court!” Kickl, who has been long known for his fierce firebrand rhetoric, said.

The move also follows campaign promises made by FPÖ leader and current Vice-Chancellor Heinz Christian Strache who vowed to ban Islamism in January of last year arguing it was, “antagonistic to women, antiliberal and corresponds to a fascist worldview.”

The text message is part of a trove of emails, text messages and handwritten notes that the Justice Department has provided to Congress as part of an investigation into the government’s handling of the Steele dossier.

Steele told Ohr in a May 10, 2017 phone call that he was “very concerned abt Comey’s firing — afraid they will be exposed,” according to Fox.

  13. “Hospital Crisis Killing Patients”! Irish Public Services in Crisis While TDs and Councilors Indulge in Social Engineering and Cultural Marxism
Posted on August 17, 2018 Leave a comment immigration
Ireland is in for dire straits if Leo Varadkar’s disastrous legacy from being Health Minister is anything to go by. An A&E boss has admitted that the Hospital crisis is killing patients! Hospitals across the country continued to buckle with a whopping 13 Percent of the Irish population stuck on Hospital waiting lists. Last month 511,415 people were on the outpatient waiting lists in public hospitals that drag on for years and years. Waterford for instance seems to have become more known for its accelerated “diversity” enforcement than for its 7 year Hospital waiting list! One wonders if no one has made the connection between importing masses of 3rd Worlders with all sorts of health and other problems, and the crisis in our public services?

Dr Aidan Gleeson, head of the Emergency Department in Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital and a leading A&E doctor has warned that patients are dying because of the “horrendous” conditions posed by Emergency Department overcrowding which has continued for many years already. The Emergency Department in Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital is one of many currently under siege from serious overcrowding.

    • Israeli and British flags burnt during Republican bonfire in Derry

British and Israeli flags were burned in a huge annual Republican bonfire in Derry, Northern Ireland, as hundreds gathered to watch. Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has described the bonfire, held on Wednesday, as a hate crime.

The bonfire was held in the staunchly Republican area of the Bogside, where in 1972 British soldiers opened fire on a protest, killing 14 people, in an event that came to be known as Bloody Sunday.

Alongside the Bogside’s murals to the victims of Bloody Sunday are murals adorned with the Palestinian flag. There is a long history of solidarity between the Northern Irish Republicans and Palestinians. This solidarity often sees Republicans burning the Israeli flag alongside the Union Jack.

  14. Bernie Sanders: ‘Something fundamentally immoral and wrong’ with America right now

Sen. Bernard Sanders says he wants the media to stop asking him questions about socialism and instead focus on what is “fundamentally immoral and wrong” with America.

The Vermont lawmaker sat down Wednesday with “CBS This Morning” to discuss the current political climate leading into the midterm elections when the rise of democratic socialism was brought up. He expressed exasperation when asked if a “capitalism versus socialism” debate should be at the forefront of the nation’s consciousness.

“I think media makes a bigger deal of it than it should,” he said. “Look at the issues! Should every American have health care as a right at a time when we spend twice as much per capita on health care as any other country, have the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs, and 30 million people have no health insurance? That is a disastrous system. Of course, we need to move to Medicare for all.”

“We believe there was intent to cause death or serious injury to the driver of a vehicle,” Cpl. Curtis Peters said, adding attempted murder is one potential charge that could be laid. “Without a doubt, the shot was intentionally fired. 16. A trove of emails and handwritten notes from Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr exposes the continuous contact and communication between the DOJ attorney and anti-Trump dossier author Christopher Steele, according to notes and documents obtained by The emails and notes were written between 2016 and 2017.

The notes and emails also reveal that Ohr was in communication with Glenn Simpson, the founder of the embattled research firm Fusion GPS, which was paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign and DNC to hire Steele.

In one of Ohr’s handwritten notes listed as “Law enforcement Sensitive” from May 10, 2017, he writes “Call with Chris,” referencing Steele. He notes that Steele is “very concerned about Comey’s firing, afraid they will be exposed.” This call occurred months after FBI Director James Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee and revealed for the first time that the FBI had an open counterintelligence investigation into President Donald Trump’s campaign and alleged collusion with Russia.

Steele is also extremely concerned about a letter sent from the Senate Judiciary Committee asking Comey for information on his involvement with Steele. Grassley sent 12 questions to Comey regarding the bureau and Steele’s relationship and wanted all information on any agreements they had during the investigation into alleged Russia-Trump collusion. Grassley also wanted to know if the FBI ever verified any of the information in Steele’s reports.

In Ohr’s notes from May 10, 2017, he goes onto write that Steele is concerned about a letter from the Senate Intelligence Committee, writing:

He told an Obama-appointed judge that Trump is an “incoherent,” “desperate” president of the “Untied States.”
He asked for lenience by saying that Republican congressmen are “pathetic.”
An attorney filed a sentencing memo on behalf of former House IT aide Imran Awan, claiming that President Donald Trump, other Republicans, and “conspiratorial media” attacks serve as a sufficient substitute for jail time for his client’s bank fraud conviction.

Attorney Chris Gowen, a former aide to Hillary Clinton, argued to Judge Tanya Chutkan, a President Barack Obama-appointee, that Imran should be spared jail, in part because of Trump, who engaged in “incoherent rambling” about the former IT aide.

“Considering … the conduct of several government officials, including the president of the United States, Imran Awan respectfully requests this court to sentence him to time served with a fine of $4,004,” Gowen wrote in the sentencing memo filed Wednesday.

  18. Ousted FBI official Peter Strzok had his hand in everything that was wrong at Obama’s DOJ

Peter Strzok was fired, finally, last Friday and he’s already bilking hundreds of thousands of dollars from unwitting Trump haters who think that as long as he opposes their bête noire in the White House, he’s worthy of their tax-cut windfall cash.

He’s taking his GoFundMe cash and hoping to fade into the sunset as the mainstream media obsess over Omarosa’s antics with nary a mention of his humiliating dismissal. ( Newsbusters)

After deluging viewers with a seemingly unending amount of stories about fired ex-Donald Trump aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman, the networks on Monday night and Tuesday morning skimped on the news that anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok had been fired. ABC, CBS and NBC allowed just 9 minutes and 6 seconds of coverage to the development. In contrast, the gossipy reporting on Omarosa (over the same period) garnered 31 minutes and 20 seconds of obsessive coverage. (When you include Friday to Tuesday morning’s programming, her total reaches an astounding 124 minutes.)

officials: “the solution is to audit so many that it becomes financially ruinous”

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released newly obtained internal IRS documents, including material revealing that Sen. John McCain’s former staff director and chief counsel on the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee, Henry Kerner, urged top IRS officials, including then-director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner, to “audit so many that it becomes financially ruinous.” Kerner was appointed by President Trump as Special Counsel for the United States Office of Special Counsel.

The explosive exchange was contained in notes taken by IRS employees at an April 30, 2013, meeting between Kerner, Lerner, and other high-ranking IRS officials. Just ten days following the meeting, former IRS director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner admitted that the IRS had a policy of improperly and deliberately delaying applications for tax-exempt status from conservative non-profit groups.

Lerner and other IRS officials met with select top staffers from the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee in a “marathon” meeting to discuss concerns raised by both Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) that the IRS was not reining in political advocacy groups in response to the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. Senator McCain had been the chief sponsor of the McCain-Feingold Act and called the Citizens United decision, which overturned portions of the Act, one of the “worst decisions I have ever seen.”

Alexander B. is said to have passed on information about people planning to travel to Syria to join the “Islamic State” or those who had already traveled there.

Lovinger’s lawyer says Halper’s work for the Pentagon could have provided him the cover he needed to contact the Trump campaign.

South Africa Calls for 300,000 Gun Owners to Turn Over Their Weapons

    By: José Niño

South Africa is opening the door for tyranny.

The Constitutional Court of South Africa recently ruled that 300,000 gun owners must turn in their firearms.

This judgement came in response to the North Gauteng High Court’s ruling in 2017 which said Section 24 and Section 28 of the Firearm’s Control Act were unconstitutional.

report from The Citizen explains what Section 24 and Section 28 entail:

“Section 24 of the Act requires that any person who seeks to renew a licence must do so 90 days before its expiry date Section 28 stipulates that if a firearm licence has been cancelled‚ the firearm must be disposed of or forfeited to the state. A 60-day time frame was placed on its disposal, which was to be done through a dealer.”

Now that the High Court’s initial ruling has been overturned, gun owners who failed to renew their firearms licenses must hand in their firearms to the nearest police station, where authorities will then proceed to destroy them.

Many naïve political observers will paint this event as a casual gun control scheme, but any astute student of politics will recognize that the floodgates are now open for further encroachments – not only on the gun rights of South Africans, but also on others facets of theirs lives.

A look at South Africa’s current political climate will give us an idea of the potential ramifications of this gun control scheme.

Iranian-backed militants are operating across the United States mostly unfettered, raising concerns in Congress and among regional experts that these “sleeper cell” agents are poised to launch a large-scale attack on the American homeland, according to testimony before lawmakers.

Iranian agents tied to the terror group Hezbollah have already been discovered in the United States plotting attacks, giving rise to fears that Tehran could order a strike inside America should tensions between the Trump administration and Islamic Republic reach a boiling point.

Intelligence officials and former White House officials confirmed to Congress on Tuesday that such an attack is not only plausible, but relatively easy for Iran to carry out at a time when the Trump administration is considering abandoning the landmark nuclear deal and reapplying sanctions on Tehran.

Dr. Jordan Peterson is a true phenomenon, a professor at the University of Toronto whose books and lectures are sold out, and whose multiple videos are played and replayed on social media. Depending on who you ask, he’s the archetypal victim or brainy hero of these polarized times when an innocent conversation between a man and a woman can explode with awesome effect and considerable collateral damage. One profiler calls him “perhaps the single most loathed person by journalistic and intellectual classes in Canada and the United States,” with the exception of President Trump

  28. ‘Major Crack in Government’s Defenses’: We May Finally Learn How the FBI Handled the Steele Dossier
    by Matt Naham | 1:47 pm, August 16th, 2018

U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta has ruled that the FBI cannot issue a Glomar response when it comes to whatever verification attempts they may have used for the contents of the infamous Christopher Steele dossier. In other words, the FBI can no longer hide behind the “we can neither confirm nor deny” response in order to stonewall records requests regarding how they may have tried to determine the validity of the synopsis of the dossier that raised concerns President Donald Trump might be compromised by Russia, pee tapes and all.

  29. Too Big to Fail Banks Lose THIS MUCH Over Gun Control Restrictions

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry denied $600 million to Citibank and Bank of America over the uncompromising gun control stance taken by both banking giants. (Breitbart)

Citibank and Bank of America were both to be part of a road financing plan in the state, but were omitted from the financial plan after arbitrarily placing new gun controls on banking customers.

Louisiana Executive Division press secretary Ruth Wisher told Breitbart News that Landry and State Treasurer John Schroder have been working on the state’s response to corporate gun control “for some time.” Omitting them from the $600 million is part of that response.

On March 23, 2018, Breitbart News reported Citibank’s new gun control regulations, which require gun store customers to quit selling “high capacity” magazines in order to do business with the bank. Citibank also demanded bank store customers refuse long gun sales to anyone 18-20 years old, even though long gun sales to 18-20-year-olds are legal (and 18-20-year-olds can use fully automatic weapons in the U.S. military).

On April 13, 2018, Reuters reported that Bank of America was reworking their policy so as to end with customers “who make military-style firearms for civilians” Bank of America does not differentiate between the fact that military rifles are fully automatic, whereas civilian firearms are only semiautomatic.

A few years back under Obama Citi got in trouble (again) and split off it personal banking side to concentrate on Merchant Banking. Since Obama wouldn’t let the banks pay back the “help/bail out” we gave in 09 some of his people may be pressuring the Citi group to push gun control.

  30. (If this has been already posted, sorry in advance)

This video by a Yazidi refugee who was bought for $100 dollars has exposed how her ISIS captor and abuser was ALSO given asylum in Germany where he subsequently tracked her down and confronted her! As she says on the video, this is by no means an isolated incident. Many incidents of crime, fighting and riots are a result of the feuds and conflicts having been imported from the Middle East into Europe. Maybe the V4 Claim that Poland and Hungary will have to defend themselves from Islamic Invasion from the West is not that far fetched after all?

The Yazidi teenager who was enslaved by Islamic State (ISIS) who had sought asylum in Germany has fled back to Iraq after being confronted by her former ISIS captor, who had also claimed and registered as a refugee in Stuttgart.
Ashwaq Ta’lo said that she was stopped by Abu Humam – a Syrian ISIS guard who had purchased her as a slave for $100 – while she was walking home in Stuttgart.

“I froze when I looked at his face carefully,” she told Bas News, a Kurdish agency. “It was Abu Humam, with the same scary beard and ugly face.”

She said that during her unexpected encounter with her former captor, Humam told her: “I am Abu Humam and you were with me for a while in Mosul. And I know where you live, with whom you live, and what you are doing.”

Ashwaq immediately told her brother about the incident and reported Humam to the German police, who were able to identify the man from CCTV footage. However, predictably, traitorous German authorities said they had no grounds for arrest, as Humam was also a registered refugee.

As a result the Yazidi teen was forced to flee Germany, believing that she would be safer back in Kurdistan, where her father lives. “I will never go back,” she said.

She recorded this video to witness the encounter.

How is that even possible?! How can an ISIS terrorist, clearly identified by one of his victims, walk around that freely in Germany and be left to walk around freely even after having been identified?

  31. As we near the 2018 general elections, a recent report finds that nearly 250 counties across the country have in them more people registered to vote than they have people who are actually eligible to vote.
This leaves the chances for vote fraud at an all time high in polling districts all across the country! It also shows that America’s state voting rolls are in serious need of updating.

    Breitbart News reported:

“Pakistan’s Telecom Authority (PTA) has warned that microblogging site Twitter will be blocked if it fails to comply with the country’s directive to block objectionable content. Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster follower denied right to wear colander in ID photos

The Dutch council of state has ruled that Pastafarianism is not a religion, denying a follower of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster the right to wear a colander on her head in her passport and driving licence photo.

Mienke de Wilde is now considering taking her case to the European court of human rights.

The Netherlands’ highest court said de Wilde, a law student from Nijmegen, could not be exempted on religious grounds from a ban on headwear in official identity photographs, because Pastfarianism was essentially a satire and not a serious faith.[…]

[…]De Wilde has said she wears her colander because she sees it as duty but it is an individual choice.”

Dutch law permits the head to be partially covered for identity photos, but only for genuine religious reasons.

Worshipping the flying spaghetti monster ‘is not a religion’, court rules

[…]It comes after the country’s highest court denied Pastafarian Mienke de Wilde the right to wear a colander on her head in her passport and driving licence.

[…]Mienke’s case started around two years ago, when photographs for her driving licence and passport were rejected by authorities in Nijmegen because rules state the head may be partially covered but only for religious reasons.

She then took her case to the Council of State, which backed the rejection.

The World Health Organization said on Friday that at least 1,500 people had potentially been exposed to the deadly Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s North Kivu region, where fear of local militia is preventing aid workers from reaching some areas.

But it expected more people to become infected and could not be sure that it had identified all chains by which the virus is spreading in the eastern part of the country beset by militia violence.

The region is haunted in particular by the Allied Defence Forces, a Ugandan Islamist rebel group blamed for hundreds of civilian deaths over the past four years.

  37. A Thurston County Superior Court judge sided with the NRA and Second Amendment Foundation against a gun-control ballot initiative in the state of Washington.
On July 3, Breitbart News reported that the initiative, I-1639, was being presented as a simple attempt to raise the legal age for long gun purchases from 18 to 21. Although an attempt to disqualify 18- to 20-year-olds from exercising their Second Amendments is troubling enough, the reality of the matter is that I-1639 would have put in place a new system of background checks and myriad other guns controls as well.

The NRA-ILA listed a few of the controls I-1639 would have put in place:

  38. Co-Conspiring “Media Coalition” Sue For Names, Addresses of Manafort Trial Jurors – Judge Ellis Refuses, No Verdict Reached…
Posted on August 17, 2018 by sundance
The media institutions that are the central players in advancement of the two-year-long corrupt scheme against candidate Trump, now President Trump, all listed themselves as a “Media Coalition” on court documents demanding the names and addresses of the Manafort Jury:

    • I find this very, very dangerous. It boils down to witness intimidation. If I were a juror I would object to the judge that I and my family were being put in harm.
In fact, if that is the game now I would refuse to serve on that basis.
Is CNN et al so rabid now that they would subject ordinary citizens to harm? I guess so…

  39. Prince Khalid bin Salman Shows Evidence on ‘Hezbollah’ Support to Houthis (aawsat, Aug 17, 2018)

“Saudi Ambassador to Washington Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz has said that the Kingdom will not allow the Houthi insurgents to become another “Hezbollah.”

“Among the much ignored realities in Yemen is not only the direct assistance the Houthi militia receives from the Iranian regime, but also the existence of Hezbollah commanders on the ground,” he said in a tweet.

“Their presence in Yemen confirms the Iranian regime has subcontracted the Houthi militia to another one of its proxies; Hezbollah. It proves the regime’s proxies work in tandem to undermine regional stability and prolong the suffering of countries they are involved in,” said the diplomat.

A previous raid on a Houthi site by Arab Coalition Special Forces uncovered a cache of evidence against Houthis. It revealed a ‘Hezbollah’ operative training and advising them on asymmetric warfare, and showed background portrait of Iran’s Supreme Leader on the computer, he said in another tweet.

The video shows the ‘Hezbollah’ operative in Yemen advising the insurgents to use deception tactics such as water tanks to store weapons, and smuggling fighters in civilian vehicles, endangering the lives of Yemeni civilians, Prince Khalid said.

“This cache of evidence (among others) confirms the ideological and military connection the Houthis and Hezbollah have to the Iranian regime. The militants can be heard at the end chanting their hateful slogans of death,” the ambassador added.”

    • The US military would have had this thing wrapped up in 3 weeks. Yemen, really?
What becomes obvious again and again is the Arab inability to win a war. And so the bloodshed, starvation and total suffering of the populace continues on.
I don’t care how many billions of dollars of arms we ship to KSA, they are fundamentally incapable of winning a war.
Just google “Why Arabs Lose Wars:” and it will become clear.

  40. Moroccan Immigration to Italy Fuels Social Relations (moroccoworldnews, Aug 17, 2018)

“Nearly half a million Moroccans residing in Italy have boosted bilateral contacts and generated intercultural projects between the two communities.

Of the approximately 3 million Moroccans living in Europe, almost half a million reside in Italy. This makes Italy, together with Spain and after France, the second most popular immigration destination for Moroccans.

According to the Italian Press Agency ANSA, “Moroccans are currently the largest non-EU immigrant community in Italy.”

Italy continues to be a popular migrant destination for Moroccan residents. Nevertheless, the number of immigrants from Morocco has been decreasing since 2014 when it reached a peak of 454,773, according to the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT).

Despite the decline, the high numbers of Moroccans in Italy has resulted in strong social interactions and bonds between the countries.

Outside of the migration sphere, the two countries endeavor to engage culturally. With the goal of promoting bilateral friendships, numerous projects have been initiated in recent years for cultural and religious purposes…”

  41. AUG 16 2018 – DRESDEN –Germany – Merkel Booed in Dresden (Video) As Crowds Shout ‘Volksverräter’ (Traitor)

Germany faces regional elections in October, most importantly in its Bavaria region where Interior Minister Mr Ernst Seehofer is campaigning. Thus, it was left up to Chancellor Ms Angela Merkel to visit the regions in Eastern Germany that also go to the polls and face her fiercest critics in Dresden, where the AfD and Pegida movements took most of the votes in last year’s election.

Just as in Europe as a whole, anti-immigration views are more widespread in Germany’s formerly communist east than in the west. In countries like Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland there is even a growing movement not to let immigrants enter at all anymore.

Merkel, arriving in a convoy of black limousines, was met by jeering crowds holding up slogans against her personally whilst shouting “Volksverräter” (“traitor” or “enemy of the people”) accompanied by a brass band.

      • Butyric attack during Merkel visit –

Shortly before the Chancellor’s arrival in Dresden, unidentified participants of a group threw out two ampoules of malodorous fluid. It could be butyric acid, as a police spokesman said. The police are now investigating for attempted assault. According to a dpa reporter on site, the smell was only noticeable in the immediate vicinity and did not cause any damage.
