How many ways have progressives worked with the Kremlin over the years? The examples are legion. When I was researching my book Dupes, the biggest challenge was sifting through all the self-described “progressive” individuals or organizations to figure out which were closet communists cloaked as liberals, and whether they collaborated with Moscow. When Congress in 1961 published its major investigation of communist front-groups, titled, “Guide to Subversive Organizations and Publications,” one of the most popular title listings in the massive index was “Progressive.”
Progressive here, progressive there, progressive everywhere.
In fact, if you want a case of collusion between an American political party and Moscow in a presidential election, forget sniffing around 2016. Go back to 1948, where progressives created the smelly blueprint.
That year, the Progressive Party ran for president one Henry A. Wallace.
Wallace had been FDR’s vice president and was America’s preeminent dupe to Marxist-Leninists. He was horribly pro-Soviet. One of the stupidest things FDR did (and that’s saying something) was to make Wallace his vice president. Wallace’s public remarks defending Stalin’s USSR were so bad that Democrats demanded he be expelled as FDR’s running mate in 1944, even as FDR’s ideologically unhinged wife, Eleanor, protected him.
FDR merely moved Wallace, retaining him as secretary of commerce in another of FDR’s departments penetrated by communists and Soviet agents of influence. (Long before that, in 1933, FDR had made Wallace secretary of agriculture, which was so infiltrated that the worst of all Depression-era government communist cells — the Ware Cell — operated out of it.)
Harry Truman mercifully replaced Wallace. It would have been devastating for America and the world if Wallace, rather than Truman, had been the sitting vice president ready to replace FDR upon the New Dealer’s death in April 1945. That is one huge bullet that history dodged.
Nonetheless, Wallace still managed to work directly with Moscow. The great Cold War historian John Lewis Gaddis notes that “there is Soviet documentation that Wallace was regularly reporting to the Kremlin in 1945 and 1946 while he was in the Truman administration.”
Truman wasn’t worth your respect, he was a Puppet of Boss Pendergast and the KC mob during his entire political career. Also when he was forced to fire one of his staff because it was proven that he was a Soviet Agent he waited about 2 weeks and rehired the man to a different position without out letting anyone know what he did. He was a leftist and possibly a secret socialist but he was pro American, that was why he went to war in Korea, not because the communists were moving to seize more territory but because he considered South Korea to be our territory.

Truman’s been regarded as the greatest friend of the Jewish people for defying the jew-haters at the State Dept and recognizing the new state of Israel.

The grim saga of Changsheng Biotechnology continues to roil China with news Wednesday that the embattled pharmaceutical firm produced a second huge batch of substandard vaccine doses for children, doubling the number of doses originally estimated.
The South China Morning Post reported that the first batch of 252,600 suspicious vaccine doses was sold entirely in the province of Shandong. Another batch of 247,200 doses has been discovered, of which 90 percent were sold in Shandong and the rest in Anhui.
A third batch of 400,000 doses sold by a different company, the state-run Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, was found to be substandard.
This puts the total number of substandard vaccine doses from Changsheng just shy of half a million, and the total number of substandard batches up to nearly one million. Chinese drug regulators evidently believe nearly all of them were, in fact, administered to children. The SCMP reported that 76 percent of the children who received injections from the first batch have been treated by doctors and “plans were in place” to treat those inoculated from the second batch.

The competition watchdog has launched an investigation of social media stars over concerns they are not declaring when they have been paid to post about products and experiences.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said social media influencers could sway the shopping habits of millions with posts endorsing goods or services, but it had concerns that they may not be disclosing that they had been paid to do so.

Suspected Terrorist Living In Sacramento To Be Tried In Iraq For Killing Former Police Officer
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man was arrested in Sacramento on suspicion of a 2014 murder of a former police officer in Iraq believed to be carried out by the Islamic State.
Omar Abdulsattar Ameen is expected to be extradited to Iraq.
The government of Iraq has charged Ameen with premeditated murder that happened during an ISIS takeover of the Rawah District of the Al-Anbar Province. ISIS took control of the area on June 21, 2014, and the next day investigators say Ameen was part of a four-vehicle ISIS convoy that opened fire on a home of a former Iraqi police officer on June 22.
The Iraqi government alleges Ameen fired his weapon at the victim, Ihsan Abdulhafiz Jasim, who was on the ground, killing him with a gunshot wound to the chest.

iPhones bear the brunt of Turkish anger at Trump
Turks are taking sledgehammers, handguns and fire to iPhones in a symbolic backing of their government as it clashes with the Trump administration over a jailed American pastor. Videos showing Turkish citizens stomping on or otherwise destroying iPhones have proliferated online in recent days, following President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s call for Turks to boycott U.S. products — specifically the smartphones made by California tech giant Apple.
Erdogan issued the call and announced a massive hike in tariffs on U.S. goods this week after the U.S. raised tariffs on Turkish imports and aimed new sanctions at Turkish officials in the row over American Pastor Andrew Brunson, who remains under house arrest pending his trial in Turkey on charges of espionage and terrorism.
The U.S. government insists the charges against Brunson are contrived and that he is an innocent family man being held for political reasons. Brunson had lived in Turkey for more than 20 years prior to his arrest. He was jailed for about two years before being moved to house arrest last month.

ALARM bells are ringing inside the Pentagon as it tracks a Russian satellite’s “very abnormal behaviour”, amid concerns it could be used for sinister means.

SOUTH Africa’s government has been accused of drawing up a list of almost 200 farms it allegedly wants to seize from white farmers.
South African president Cyril Ramaphosa recently unveiled plans to allow white people’s land to be taken without compensation.
Now a lobby group claims to obtained a list of 195 farms “identified for this purpose”, reigniting the controversy over the proposals.

U.S. hits Chinese and Russian firms over North Korea sanctions breach
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States imposed sanctions on a Russian port service agency and Chinese firms for aiding North Korean ships and selling alcohol and tobacco to Pyongyang in breach of U.S. sanctions.
The U.S. Treasury said in a statement on Wednesday that China-based Dalian Sun Moon Star International Logistics Trading Co. Ltd and its Singapore-based affiliate SINSMS Pte. Ltd had netted more than $1 billion a year by exporting alcohol and cigarette products to North Korea.
The department also sanctioned Russian-based Profinet Pte Ltd and its director general, Vasili Aleksandrovich Kolchanov, for providing port services on at least six occasions to North Korean-flagged ships.
Kolchanov was personally involved in North Korea-related deals and interacted directly with North Korean representatives in Russia, the department said.
“The tactics that these entities based in China, Singapore, and Russia are using to attempt to evade sanctions are prohibited under U.S. law, and all facets of the shipping industry have a responsibility to abide by them or expose themselves to serious risks,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in the statement.

One of the suspects arrested at a suspected Muslim “extremist” compound in New Mexico is a longtime illegal alien from Haiti who overstayed a visitor visa, immigration authorities said Wednesday.
Jany Leveille, 35, was arrested along with four other people on Aug. 4 when state and local police raided the makeshift compound in rural Amalia, N.M. Police officers discovered a total of two men, three women, and 11 children living in squalid conditions and allegedly training for some kind of mass shooting, according to New Mexico state prosecutors.
On Tuesday morning, Leveille was transferred to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) pursuant to an Aug. 8 immigration detention request, said ICE spokesperson Leticia Zamarripa.
“ICE issued her a notice to appear before a federal immigration judge, and she remains in ICE custody pending resolution of her immigration proceedings,” Zamarripa told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Leveille has been unlawfully present in the U.S. for more than 20 years after overstaying the validity of her non-immigrant visitor visa.”

Three suspects have been arrested, one of them in Turkey.
It’s widely thought that the timing of the fires, which appear to have been co-ordianted, was not accidental.

“A Swedish Muslim woman has won compensation after her job interview was ended when she refused a handshake.
Farah Alhajeh, 24, was applying for a job as an interpreter when she declined to shake the hand of a male interviewer for religious reasons.
She placed her hand over her heart in greeting instead.
The Swedish labour court ruled the company had discriminated against her and ordered it to pay 40,000 kronor ($4,350; £3,420) in compensation.
Some Muslims avoid physical contact with members of the opposite sex, except for those in their immediate family.
However handshakes are traditional in Europe. Additionally, anti-discrimination legislation may forbid companies and public bodies from treating people differently because of their gender.
Sweden’s discrimination ombudsman’s office, which represented 24-year-old Ms Alhajeh, said the judgement had taken into account “the employer’s interests, the individual’s right to bodily integrity, and the importance of the state to maintain protection for religious freedom”.
What were the grounds for the ruling?
The interpreting company in Ms Alhajeh’s home town of Uppsala had argued that its staff were required to treat men and women equally and could not allow a staff member to refuse a handshake based on gender.
But the discrimination ombudsman said she had tried to avoid upsetting anyone by placing her hand over her heart when greeting both men and women.
Sweden’s labour court found the company was justified in demanding equal treatment for both sexes – but not in demanding that it be in the form of a handshake only.
Her refusal to shake hands on religious grounds was protected by the European Convention on Human Rights, it said, and the company’s policy in demanding a specific greeting was detrimental to Muslims.
The court also disagreed with the firm’s assertion that Ms Alhajeh’s approach to greetings would cause a problem for effective communication as an interpreter.
However the judges were divided over the case – with three supporting Ms Alhajeh’s claim and two voting against.
What did Ms Alhajeh say?
After the judgement Ms Alhajeh told the BBC she believed it was important to “never give in” when convinced that one is in the right, even as a member of a minority group.
“I believe in God, which is very rare in Sweden… and I should be able to do that and be accepted as long as I’m not hurting anyone,” she said.
“In my country… you cannot treat women and men differently. I respect that. That’s why I don’t have any physical contact with men or with women. I can live by the rules of my religion and also at the same time follow the rules of the country that I live in,” she added.
She had complained about her treatment to the discrimination ombudsman’s office, which said that the “difficult issue” was important enough to go to a court for judgement.”

“A sermon at the mosque where the Manchester bomber worshipped called for the support of armed jihadist fighters, according to two Muslim scholars.
An imam at Didsbury Mosque in December 2016 was recorded praying for “victory” for “our brothers and sisters right now in Aleppo and Syria and Iraq”.
Scholars Usama Hasan and Shaykh Rehan said it referred to “military jihad”.
The imam, Mustafa Graf, says his sermon did not call for armed jihad and he has never preached radical Islam.
The recording the BBC obtained is of Friday prayers at the mosque six months before Salman Abedi detonated a suicide bomb following an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena in May 2017.
Abedi and his family regularly attended the mosque and his father sometimes led the call to prayer.
Their whereabouts on the day of the sermon are unknown but the BBC has been told that Abedi bought a ticket for the concert 10 days later.
The bomb killed 22 people and the attacker, as well as injuring hundreds of others.
‘No doubt’
It is also understood at least five men who have attended Didsbury Mosque have either travelled to Syria or have been jailed for terrorism offences.
The sermon, which was at a time of bombing in the Syrian city of Aleppo, includes prayers for “mujahideen” fighting abroad – a term commonly used for Islamist guerrilla fighters.
“We ask Allah to grant them mujahideen – our brothers and sisters right now in Aleppo and Syria and Iraq – to grant them victory,” Mr Graf is heard saying.
Elsewhere it says: “Lots of brothers stayed behind unfortunately. They love Islam and Muslims but they do nothing for the support of their brothers and sisters.”
Another passage says: “Jihad for the sake of Allah is the source of pride and dignity for this nation.”
Mr Hasan, head of Islamic studies at Quilliam, a think tank that focuses on counter-extremism, said: “From the context and the way these texts [the religious passages quoted within the sermon] are used they are clearly referring to military jihad, to armed jihad.
“I have known the Islamic discourse for pretty much 40 years, from being a child in this country and worldwide, and the mujahideen are the group fighting armed jihad.”
Mr Rehan said he was in no doubt about what the sermon meant.
“The jihad he’s referring to here is actually being on the battlefield, there’s no ifs and no buts in this.”
London demonstration
The sermon centres on the suffering in Syria and includes an appeal for donations.
At one point Mr Graf is heard saying: “The whole world, including Europe, America – what is the so-called civilised world – is watching what is happening in Aleppo and Syria.
“They know that Iran, Russia and the militias are killing humans in Syria and they do nothing.
“Well in fact they helped the Russians and the Iranians and others, the militias, to kill Muslims over there.”
Mr Rehan said: “He’s giving them the narrative of them against us. He is psychologically and practically brainwashing young people into either travelling or to do something to take action.”
Connections between the preacher and Salman Abedi have also been uncovered.
The BBC has obtained footage of Abedi attending a demonstration in London against a secular Libyan general who was fighting against Islamist militia.
The event was organised by the so-called 17th of February Forum protest group. Mr Graf is a leader of the group, although he was not present at the London demonstration.
Mr Graf declined to be interviewed by the BBC but denied he had called for armed jihad or that he had ever preached Islamic extremism.
The trustees of Didsbury Mosque also said the five men understood to have travelled to Syria or jailed for terrorism offences had not visited the mosque.
In a statement it said Mr Graf’s sermon was highlighting the plight of Syrians and his use of the words “jihad” and “mujahideen” had been misinterpreted.
“We do not tolerate or instigate any form of preaching that breaches both Islamic principles and the laws of England and Wales,” it said.”

A Canadian mosque has been stripped of its charitable status after a revenue audit found a litany of issues, including inviting speakers who previously spoke out against LGBT and female equality, as well as advocating martyrdom.
The Ottawa Islamic Centre and Assalam Mosque, which is one of the biggest mosques in the Canadian capital, had its charitable status revoked in July, after officials from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) expressed concerns in a report over dodgy financing and a roster of guest speakers who seemed to “promote hate and intolerance.”
“Many of the views expressed by the organization’s speakers are misogynistic, homophobic, racist and/or promote violence,” the CRA Charities Branch wrote in a letter sent to the mosque president and obtained by the Global Times.
The audit covered the mosque’s financial years 2012-2013.
Additional CRA documents seen by the Global Times specifically mention visits by Abu Usamah At-thahabi, Bilal Philips, Hakim Quick and Saed Rageah, all of whom had spoken at the Ottawa mosque one or more times.
While Assalam mosque officials said the CRA had not alleged that any of the guest speakers had made hateful comments while at their mosque, the comments had been made elsewhere.
One speaker, Bilal Philips, was described as “anti-Semitic, intolerant and contrary to integration,” by the CRA, and has been denied entry into several countries, including Australia, the UK, Kenya, Bangladesh, the US and Germany.
Another, Usamah At-thahabi, who spoke at three engagements at the mosque between December 2012 and April 2014 has in the past been recorded advocating hateful attitudes.
An undercover investigation into British mosques by the UK’s Channel 4 in 2007, recorded At-thahabi advocating that gays should be thrown “off a mountain,” and that women, “even if she has a PhD” were intellectually inferior to men.
He has also spoken out against non-believers, or kuffar: “Not a single person here from the Muslims loves the kuffar, whether those kuffars are from the UK or from the US. We love the people of lslam and we hate the people of kuffar.”
Mosque officials have since denied that they have been promoting extremism, attributing the trouble to when two hardline board members – Ahmed Hassan and Suleiman Osman Hersi – ran the organization for a number of years after the death of founder Mohamed Rashad Moalimishak in 2009.
During that time Hassan and Hersi booked the speakers, usually without consulting other board members and that now all speakers are pre-screened, according to the Ottawa Citizen.
Calling the CRA’s action “politically motivated”, Mosque treasurer Ali Abdulle described the news as “devastating” to the community.
“It was like an earthquake. But what can we do?”
In addition to the extremist speakers, CRA documents also raised concerns over questionable financing and missing email and phone correspondence at the mosque. In 2012, the mosque paid CND$54,000 to individuals for “services rendered” but didn’t issue any T4 tax slips for salaried employees.
In 2013, this more than doubled to over CND$118,000 to individuals, again without any issuing of T4s.

Six-Person Terror Cell Behind Failed Attack on Egyptian Church
CAIRO?– Egyptian authorities have arrested four men and two women suspected to be members of a terrorist cell behind a failed suicide attack on a church in Qalubiya governorate, the interior ministry said in a statement last Sunday.
On Saturday afternoon, a suicide bomber targeted a historic church in Egypt, where hundreds of Coptic Christians were celebrating the Virgin Mary’s birthday (a religious celebration as Copts fast from Aug. 7-22). Two people were injured and the bomber was killed.
The bomber, who was wearing a suicide vest, attempted to infiltrate the crowds of Copts outside Virgin Mary Church in Mostorod, Shubra Al-Khiema, north of Cairo, but he failed to reach the crowd because of the high security deployment so he blew himself up a distance from the target, officials said.
Islamist militant groups, affiliates to the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, have claimed responsibility for several attacks on Coptic Christians in recent years. Although no group announced responsibility for Saturday’s attack, a lot of militants in Egypt are inspired by the Islamic State group. The interior ministry identified the bomber as Omar Mohamed Ahmed, 29 years old.
After searching the bomber’s home, police found a Russian pistol, 27 machine-gun bullets, documents containing a detailed explanation of manufacture of explosive devices, around 71 thousand Egyptian pounds and two bottles of chloroform used in explosives devices.
Also, the suspects of the terrorist cell had two automatic weapons, an Uzi pistol, 9-mm pistol, a large quantity of ammunition, half a kilo of gunpowder, nitrate, aluminum powder and acetone used in the manufacture of explosives, according to the interior ministry. Moreover, the suspects had a several electric circuits, remote control, a jar with an unknown liquid substance, a sack full of nails and a half a million Egyptian pounds, in addition to three cars, the statement added.
Two of the suspects admitted that they added poisonous matter on the nails used to make the explosive devices to cause fatal injuries.
Cell Network in Egypt’s Main Cities
After the Palm Sunday bombings in April 2017 that killed 45 people in two churches in Cairo and Tanta, Mokhtar Awad, a militancy expert at George Washington University, wrote that he had found evidence that Egyptian militants in the upper echelons of the central Islamic State leadership had established the network of cells in Egypt’s main cities.
Christians make up more than 10 percent of Egypt’s population. In recent years, militants targeted them heavily. Groups affiliated to ISIS signaled their intent to wage a war by slaughtering Christians in their homes, businesses and places of worship.
On Dec. 11, 2016, 29 worshippers were killed in a suicide attack on St. Peter and St. Paul’s Coptic Church, also known as El-Botroseya Church. Then on Dec. 29 of last year, gunmen opened fire on worshippers leaving St. Mina Church, a Coptic Orthodox church on the southern outskirts of Cairo, killing nine people.
On May 26, 2017, gunmen attacked a Coptic Christian convoy on the way to the monastery of St. Samuel in Minya Governorate south of Cairo, killing 35 people.
In Al Arish, northern Sinai governorate, which is northeast of Cairo, there are dozens of families who fled in droves after militants affiliated to the Islamic State, massacred seven Christian people, in series attacks in February 2016.

AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Communications Commission has shut down a pirate radio station that served as the flagship outlet for conservative conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
The Austin American-Statesman reports the FCC also has fined the station’s operators $15,000 – a fine the FCC says in a lawsuit the operators are refusing to pay.
The lawsuit filed in federal court in Austin alleges Liberty Radio operated on a channel without a license since at least 2013. The lawsuit names as defendants Walter Olenick and M. Rae Nadler-Olenick.
Court documents show the FCC had tracked the transmissions to a 50-foot tower at an Austin apartment complex owned by an entity linked to the Olenicks.
A message left with the Olenicks wasn’t returned. According to a letter the FCC entered as an exhibit in its lawsuit, the Olenicks refused to pay the fine or recognize the FCC’s authority, saying they would regard its agents as trespassers should they return.

The main amendment aimed to counter the obstruction announced by several judges and two associations of magistrates in order to hinder the nomination of a new president of the Supreme Court that is in Poland the highest judiciary instance in civil and criminal matters, as well as for labour laws and the military courts. Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.
Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and court documents show.
They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.
That the FBI failed to do something about this much earlier is a scandal in itself.
