Three leading judges in London quashed a contempt finding made at Leeds Crown Court in May, and granted Robinson conditional bail from a 13-month jail sentence pending new proceedings at the Old Bailey.
Robinson left HMP Onley in Rugby on Wednesday afternoon after being freed by Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett, Mr Justice Turner and Mrs Justice McGowan in London earlier in the day.
Lord Burnett said that, if found in contempt of court at the fresh hearing, Robinson may even be given a longer jail term.
He said: “First, the alleged contempt was serious and the sentence might be longer if a finding is again made against the appellant” and added: “Secondly, and in any event, a determination of the underlying contempt allegations in the circumstances of this case is in the public interest.”

“Tommy Robinson has described a Spartan existence in prison in an interview following his release, claiming he was kept locked in solitary confinement for 23 and a half hours at a time and had to subsist on one can of tuna a day.
The activist was bounced into prison to serve two consecutive prison sentences for contempt of court within five hours of an arrest for an alleged breach of the peace in May.
The decision was defended at the time by a number of left-liberal talking heads and legal commentators, including the pseudonymous ‘Secret Barrister’, but quashed on August 1st in the Court of Appeal by the Lord Chief Justice, who ruled that the sentencing judge had moved with unseemly haste and deviated from proper due process in a way that was “much more than a technical failure”.
Robinson’s time in prison appeared to have a taken a serious toll on him in the interview, conducted by his former employer at Rebel Media, Ezra Levant. The Luton native appeared gaunt, hollow-eyed, and slurred his words.
He told the Canadian he had only seen his wife and children twice, for an hour at a time, in all the time he was behind bars, and spent almost all his time in solitary confinement.
“They moved me from HMP Hull, which was a 7 percent Muslim population, to the most densely Muslim-populated prison in the country,” he claimed.
“I had threats every day… I couldn’t have my cell windows open because they would be spat through or shit put through, so I had my windows shut all the time,” he said, describing how he struggled with the recent heatwave as a result.
Asked if he knew why he had been moved from Hull, he said the authorities “gave no reason, but I know why they did it — because what they then did is they used the excuse of my safety [to] put me straight in solitary confinement.”
Robinson described this confinement as “23 and a half hours a day, locked in a room [with] a blue mat… and then for thirty minutes a day they open the door and you walk into a cage… small, and you walk around the cage on your own, and then they open the door and lock you back in.”
The Englishman appeared visibly disturbed while recounting his incarceration.
“If every prisoner had that… If that was the sentence for prisoners…” he began, falteringly.
“It was the fact that every other prisoner’s cell door opens at 8 o’clock in the morning and they’re out of their cell working, having football, playing pool, and then they get locked up at 6 o’clock at night,” he finally explained.
“And then I think, I haven’t done anything — but because they’ve brought me to a Muslim-run prison, they’ve used the excuse that this is why they have to [keep me confined].”
Robinson said he could not eat the food which was sent to his cell in case it was poisoned — having been prepared, he said, by Muslim prisoners, who would goad him by asking “How’s your dinner, Tommy?”
He instead subsisted on a tin of tuna a day, as it came sealed and he could be reasonably sure of its safety, plus some fruit.
Levant said that Robinson, who looked far leaner than when he went inside two months ago, had told he had dropped fully 42 pounds — around three stones, or twenty kilograms.
Robinson became emotional several times when describing the toll the experience had taken on his family, and when thanking those who have supported him outside prison.
He is also concerned that, while his original conviction has been quashed, the appeal judges ordered his hearing to be reheard, meaning he could be sent back inside — a move he believes has been designed to “mentally break” him.
“Tommy knows that he was messed up… I don’t think he even knows how badly,” commented Levant after the interview.
“I think his health has been permanently affected, and that was on purpose,” he added.”

Abdul Aziz Umar, who Mr. Corbyn refers to as a “brother”, was given seven life sentences after he helped in the preparation of a suicide vest detonated at a restaurant in Jerusalem in 2003, which killed seven innocent people.
MP Joan Ryan, chairman of Labour Friends of Israel, demanded an investigation into his “beyond abhorrent” comments.
The video release came just hours after the Times reported Mr. Corbyn had hosted a House of Commons event on Holocaust Memorial Day in 2010, at which the Israeli government was compared to the Nazis.
Mr Corbyn spoke at and opened a talk entitled Never Again — for Anyone. The event was part of a UK tour called Never Again for Anyone — Auschwitz to Gaza.
He has since issued an extraordinary apology.
Footage has also emerged of a speech Mr. Corbyn made at a rally outside Parliament in 2010 when he compared the blockade of Gaza to the sieges of Leningrad and Stalingrad in the Second World War.
He told the crowd: “I was in Gaza three months ago. “More and more migrants have been surging across the border into Bosnia in recent months, hoping to cross into European Union via Croatia. The influx may be fueling prior tensions between ethnic and religious groups in the country.
The Bosnian town of Bihac and the nearby village of Iza?i? have become a hub for newly arriving migrants, with an estimated 4,000 currently living in the town which boasts a population of only 60,000, Liberation reports.
Around 50 migrants arrive in the area every day, according to reports and NGOs, and others say they are not fully equipped to deal with the numbers and that tensions are rising among the migrants.
“This place is not safe at night,” a Kurdish migrant living in the area said, adding: “There are fights, knives circulating. The police refuse to intervene.”
The Red Cross is also active in the area helping migrants but, according to official Selam Midzic, everything from tents to food and clothing are in short supply and the organisation says if things do not change before winter, they could be facing a humanitarian disaster.
Since the end of the Bosnian conflict in 1995, the country has largely been divided between the Muslim Bosniaks, who constitute 50 percent of the population, the mostly Orthodox Christian ethnic Serbs, and a smaller minority of mostly Catholic ethnic Croats.
The president of the majority-Serbian autonomous Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, labelled the influx of migrants, the majority of them Muslims, an “invasion”.
“In Republika Srpska, we do not have space to create centres for migrants,” he said.
Suhret Fazlic, mayor of Bihac, claimed that the Republic of Srpska was directly expelling the migrants from their territory and sending them to his town, noting that several Republic of Srpska towns also lie within close proximity to the Croatian border.
“We are afraid to become Calais, to be submerged,” he said, referring to the French city on the English Channel, which has become a launchpad for thousands of often violent illegal migrants seeking passage to the United Kingdom.
According to a report from the Croatian government in May, as many as 60,000 migrants were waiting to break into the European Union via their border.

“Sharia law has been recognised by a British court for the first time after a judge made a landmark divorce ruling which could change the way Islamic marriage and divorce works in the UK.
The High Court ruled that an estranged couple’s Islamic faith marriage, conducted in a ceremony called a nikah, falls under British matrimonial law despite it not being legally recognised as such.
It means Nasreen Akhtar will be free to bring her case to the divorce court and claim her share of the assets of her marriage where she previously would not have been able to.
In the high-profile case Mrs Akhtar and her businessman husband Mohammed Shabaz Khan were deemed to have a valid marriage.
The judge said the union should be recognised because the couple, who took their vows in 1998, lived as man and wife, introduced each other as such and had expectations similar to a British marriage contract.
The case will have significant implications for women who marry under sharia law but not UK law and could give them the right to divorce their husbands and split the assets related to the union, as well as securing a divorce more easily.
A report commissioned by Theresa May when she was home secretary revealed earlier this year that many women in Islamic marriages do not realise they have no legal protection under UK law unless they have a second civil ceremony alongside the nikah.
Under sharia law women often have to appeal to sharia councils, largely made up of men, in order to be released from their union and some have to make concessions in order to do so. Men are not obligated to do the same.
In the High Court case Mrs Akhtar’s husband Mr Khan sought to block her application for divorce in the UK court on the basis that they were never legally married.
But Mr Justice Williams decided that the marriage was “entered into in disregard of certain requirements as to the formation of marriage”.
He said the marriage was therefore “void” and that Mrs Akhtar is entitled to a decree of nullity. If he had ruled it was a non-marriage she would not have been able to make a case in the British divorce court.
The judge heard that the couple, who have a Pakistani background, had lived in London, Birmingham and Dubai. They had taken part in a nikah ceremony at a restaurant in Southall, west London, nearly 20 years ago.
Mrs Akhtar said the ceremony was conducted by an imam before about 150 guests.
Hazel Wright, a partner in the family law team at Hunters Solicitors said: “The law on cohabitation in this country is out of date and unsatisfactory.
“Now those who would have been outside the scope of the law to help them can seek compensation in the courts if their spouse has deliberately refused to have a civil ceremony after a religious ceremony.
“Ms Akhtar and Mr Khan both knew that their sharia marriage was not a legally registered marriage. It became vital for Ms Akhtar that the English divorce court rule in her favour, that the marriage should be recognised as void, and not a non-marriage.
“Otherwise she would not have any rights to make any financial claims for herself.
“The ruling that this marriage was just like a marriage for the couple, their families and friends, and indeed it satisfied the UAE authorities, and so was a valid but void marriage has given heart to many who otherwise suffer discrimination.””

South Africa facing ‘mass STARVATION and RIOTS’ after white people’s land seized
THERE will be huge food shortages and riots on the streets following plans to seize white South African farmers’ land, it has been warned.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced plans to allow white people’s land to be taken without compensation.
It will then be distributed to black people in a move Ramaphosa said will be good for the economy.
But critics worldwide have blasted the proposed change, saying it will spark riots as well as a deep economic recession.
Ian Cameron, of South African trade group AfriForum, said: “We’re really heading for a state of anarchy if something doesn’t change drastically.
“I’m convinced this year we’ll see between 21,000 to 22,000 people having been murdered in the past year.
“There are places where the police simply refuse to act. They don’t know the law well enough or refuse to apply it to logical reasoning when it comes to defending people’s property rights.”
There are also fears South Africa could become a pariah state, with other countries refusing to trade with it.

President Trump held a raucous rally in Tampa, Florida, Tuesday night.
Thousands of supporters packed the arena to hear Trump hammer his critics and tout his administration’s accomplishments. There was plenty of hecklers, comedy and chants about Hillary and 2020. Trump stopped to pick on one of his favorite targets, the media, approximately half-way through the speech. The president heckled the press in the press pen as “fake news” and the audience roared, chanting “Fake News” and “CNN Sucks” at the reporters.
On of the favorite targets of the audience was CNN’s Jim Acosta, who tweeted multiple videos of the crowd mocking him before and after the rally. Acosta blamed Trump for the vitriol, saying “I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt.” The tweet showed Trump supporters jeering at Acosta after the rally.

Belgium begins charging journalists a fee to cover EU meetings
The Belgian government this week began charging its journalists a fee to cover European Union (EU) meetings, according to The New York Times.
The government is charging Belgian journalists $58 for a required six-month background check, which foreign journalists covering the EU do not need, the Times reported.
“There is no other democratic country, as far as we are aware of, that is asking for a similar fee,” Tom Weingaertner, president of the International Press Association in Brussels, told the newspaper. “This is a restriction of press freedom and it sets a very big precedent.”
He called the move “unprecedented and completely unacceptable.”
Though a law mandating the fee went into effect on June 1, Belgian journalists reportedly only began to discover it on Monday, when they began to seek access to an upcoming EU summit.

Starbucks has officially struck a partnership with Alibaba Group with a multi-pronged plan to boost the beverage company’s digital and physical presence in China, Starbucks President and CEO Kevin Johnson told CNBC on Wednesday.
In the exclusive agreement, the global fast-casual chain will leverage all of Alibaba’s properties, including delivery platform Ele.me and supermarket chain Hema, to expand delivery services throughout China.
“We’re going to integrate a Starbucks virtual store into all of the Alibaba Group properties,” Johnson told “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer in an interview.
“This means that a customer that uses Alipay or Taobao or Tmall or Hema has an integrated Starbucks virtual store similar to the mobile app embedded right into that experience,” the CEO said. “That opens up 500 million or more active users of those apps that will have access to Starbucks.”

White House Plans 25% Tariffs on China
The White House is planning to announce that it is pushing the proposed tariffs on China to 25 percent from 10 percent.
President Donald Trump has asked aides to prepare for more than doubling the proposed tariff on more than $200 billion of Chinese imports, according to a person familiar with the matter. The White House held a conference call on China Wednesday afternoon.
China has not accepted outreach from a number of high-level Trump administration officials seeking to restart stalled trade talks in recent weeks. Both White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin have said the administration is open to further talks but China has not responded.
It is hoped that doubling the planned tariff rates will force China back to the table.
The U.S. is now imposing $34 billion in Chinese goods, and has another $16 billion planned shortly. Administration officials are exploring an additional $200 billion of goods on which tariffs might be imposed.

Iran readying massive military exercise in Persian Gulf, officials say
Washington (CNN)Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard is expected to soon begin a major naval exercise that could demonstrate its ability to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial conduit for global energy supplies, US officials say.
The exercise in the Persian Gulf could begin as soon as the next two days, according to two US officials directly familiar with the latest assessment of the Revolutionary Guard’s troop movements.
“We are aware of the increase in Iranian naval operations within the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman. We are monitoring it closely, and will continue to work with our partners to ensure freedom of navigation and free flow of commerce in international waterways,” Capt. William Urban, chief spokesman for US Central Command, told CNN.
The Strait of Hormuz links the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea. The US Energy Information Administration calls it “the world’s most important oil transit chokepoint,” with 20% of oil traded worldwide moving through the waterway, which is about 30 miles wide at its narrowest point.

Russia to deploy military police on Golan Heights
MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia will deploy its military police on the Golan Heights frontier between Syria and Israel, its defense ministry said on Thursday, after weeks of mounting volatility in the area.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s sweeping away of rebels in southwestern Syria has worried Israel, which believes it could allow his Iranian backers to entrench their troops close to the frontier.
Underlining the tensions, Israel killed seven militants in an overnight air strike on the Syrian-held part of the Golan Heights, Israeli radio said on Thursday.
Sergei Rudskoi, a senior Russian defense ministry official, said that Russian military police had on Thursday begun patrolling in the Golan Heights and planned to set up eight observation posts in the area.
He said the Russian presence there was in support of United Nations peacekeepers on the Golan Heights who, he said, had suspended their activities in the area in 2012 because their safety was endangered.
“Today, UN peacekeepers accompanied by Russian military police conducted their first patrols in six years in the separation zone,” Rudskoi told a briefing for journalists in Moscow.

The Home Office received 175 inquiries from abuse victims trying to block spouses’ visas last year, The Times revealed.
However, officials allowed in almost half of the abusers — from countries including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and the United Arab Emirates — regardless.
The shocking revelations prompted accusations of officials bowing to political correctness and effectively becoming complicit in horrific acts of abuse because they are scared of accusations of racism.
Of the cases, 88 became full cases, which included direct requests from victims, known as “reluctant sponsors”, pleas from third parties, or instances where an official suspected the marriage was forced.
Men who have physically abused women — including husbands who rape their wives — have been let into the United Kingdom to live, The Times claims.
The Home Office, meanwhile, insisted it was a “world leader in tackling the horrendous crime of forced marriage” and that it took safeguarding “very seriously”.
Karma Nirvana, a charity that supports victims of forced marriage, receives almost 13,000 calls a year to its helpline.
Jasvinder Sanghera, its founder and a government adviser, said: “We’re seeing this nationally. Even when officials know it’s a forced marriage, they see tradition, culture or religion and they’re reticent to deal with it. They are turning a blind eye.”
The Times highlighted the case of an immigration lawyer advising a family to ensure their daughter was impregnated abroad and gave birth in the United Kingdom to help her husband get a British visa, even if the wife did not want him here.
Men, therefore, are raping girls to make them pregnant because families believe having a child helps visa applications — although this can be illegal if information on the marriage is withheld.

This is Ezra and TR discussing his experience in prison. TR claims he lost 42 pounds because he was afraid to eat the prison food cooked by other inmates and was only allowed to spend 12 pounds/week in the prison store for food.
Boy, I’ll tell you, if what “Her Majesty’s Gov’t” wanted to do was break TR they sure came close. I don’t think he would have made it another couple of months.
There are a few things that bother me a lot about this whole debacle:
1) Surely the 3 judges had formed some type of preliminary opinion after hearing the morning’s argument in favor of TR. I would think any reasonable judge would have released TR on bail with an ankle bracelet or home confinement. But no… They sent this man back to solitary to rot while they considered what their ruling might be. You would think on the info that TR was not represented by his own counsel and that the proceedings took all of 15 minutes to put him in solitary would be enough to say FULL STOP! Send him home and let’s sort this out.
2) I keep hearing that TR’s reporting jeopardised an ongoing trial and all the rapists might have walked free. Two things; wasn’t that trial already in the sentencing phase? And, if they could walk free due to a technicality, why is TR being tried again as his “trial” was the mother of all technical errors. Isn’t that double jeopardy? So, in the UK you keep trying certain people until you get it right? Didn’t Bill Ayers beat a bombing rap on a technicality?
Needless to say, this has been some shitshow and we still have October to look forward to, NOT! One thing though is that a significant number of British as well as people all over the Western world have put their money and their mouth to work to say We Have Had Enough!
I read on another site that many UK citizens have written to their MPs about this and have not received a response. I think it is one thing to not bother to respond to some “slag” constituent, but quite another to think that ignoring these issues is a good idea. It’s not and will only get worse.

The Judicial System in Britain is even less unbiased then in the US, the Judges probably decided to send Tommy back because of either political bias or class bias.
You are right it was the sentencing phase so he couldn’t have influenced anyone, the arrest, convection and sentencing was all political. On Tucker Carlson he said that to this day they haven’t told him what he did that was contempt of court. That alone should have been enough to get him released on bail.
It was the public uproar in Britain and overseas that got him released on bail. This pressure needs to continue to be applied until he is released or the bureaucrats that ordered his arrest and imprisonment will find another way to get him put in prison where they can either break his mind and will or get him killed. They probably want the former since that would be a much stronger warning to the rest of the lower class who think they have legal rights.

Taking center stage is the New York Times, which recently published two diametrically opposed op-eds similarly subtitled, “A sneak peek at The Times’s news analysis from Nov. 4, 2020.” The titles speak for themselves:

Democratic Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts announced his intention Wednesday to stall the confirmation of R. Clarke Cooper to the Department of State until President Donald Trump agrees to prevent an unrelated company from publishing instructions for 3D-printed guns.
Senate Democrats have expressed outrage for the past few weeks over a settled lawsuit allowing Americans access to detailed firearm blueprints, which will enable a roadmap to designs that can be recreated with a 3D printer at home.
The lawsuit was brought about after Cody Wilson, founder of the nonprofit digital publishing firm Defense Distributed, sued the State Department in 2015 for infringing on his First Amendment rights. The Department of Justice settled the lawsuit, which was finalized in June, permitting Americans the ability to “access, discuss, use, reproduce or otherwise benefit from the technical data.”

On Wednesday Washington Post columnist Margaret Sullivan published a cautionary column titled “Trump needs to counter the hostility at his rallies before something terrible happens.” Her concerns for public safety arose out of the admittedly rude reception visited on CNN’s Jim Acosta at a Trump rally on Tuesday.
Sullivan’s finger-wagging would have been better served if she had aimed it not at a crowd of feisty Floridians chanting “CNN sucks” but at fellow liberals, whose actions have already crossed the line into actual violence against Trump supporters. In early July, an adult bully stole assaulted a teen for the crime of wearing a pro-Trump hat, stealing the boy’s hat and throwing drink in his face to boot.
And there have been worse examples than that. On Wednesday, the Cape Cod Times reported that Chloe Wright, a 25-year-old Massachusetts woman who appears to suffer from an advanced case of “Trump Anxiety Disorder” pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a month-old incident in which she allegedly struck a vehicle and nearly ran over the driver because of a pro-Trump bumper sticker.

Finland’s Greens party legal officer kicked off plane for protesting fellow passenger’s deportation
The Greens party legal officer was escorted from a plane at Helsinki Airport after she refused to sit down, in protest of a fellow passenger’s deportation.
On Tuesday police at Helsinki Airport removed Aino Pennanen, the legal officer of Finland’s Greens party, from a plane for refusing to be seated. Pennanen said she was protesting the deportation of a fellow passenger.
Police cited Pennanen for causing an aviation misdemeanour but she is not suspected of having committed a crime.
Pennanen broadcast live video of her protest on Facebook as it unfolded on Tuesday. The plane’s departure was delayed by about ten minutes.
In the video, the Greens’ legal officer announced that she was refusing to follow the instructions of flight attendants after she noticed that another passenger was being forcibly repatriated.
Pennanen told Helsingin Sanomat that she had not planned the airplane protest in advance, and that she did not know to which country the deportee was being taken.
“We have deep-rooted problems in our system. That is why I wanted to stand up and help that person. It was not about a flight it is a problem in our justice system,” she told the paper.
Similar incident in Sweden last week
Tuesday’s incident was similar to one which took place in Sweden last week, when an activist named Elin Ersson protested the deportation of an Afghan citizen who was on the plane, according to the Guardian.
However, in that case, Ersson received the support of several passengers on the plane and the Afghan deportee was eventually removed from the plane before it took off. Ersson also live-streamed last week’s incident on Facebook.
Chair of the Greens, Touko Aalto wrote a tweet of support for Pennanen’s actions, calling her brave.
“The brave Aino Pennanen tried to thwart a person’s forcible deportation. Raising the issue of human rights cannot depend on a single person’s civil courage,” he wrote.
Jan Lindström of the eastern Uusimaa police department said that he cannot recall a similar situation in which a person refused to leave an aircraft.
National airline Finnair and police confirmed the incident took place.
Mari Kanerva, from the airline’s communications department said the plane was headed to Berlin, Germany.
“Due to disruptive behaviour, one person needed to be removed from the plane. It was the decision of authorities and we cannot comment more than this,” Kanerva said.

TRIPOLI (Reuters) – Libya’s coast guard picked up 574 migrants from inflatable boats in three operations on Monday off the North African country’s coast, naval forces spokesman Ayoub Qassem told Reuters.
He said the migrants included 388 men, 66 women and 19 children. Two boats were picked up near the town of Zawiya and one off Qarabulli, Qassem said on Wednesday, adding that the migrants came from different sub-Saharan and Arab countries.
“All illegal migrants were brought to Tripoli’s Abu Sitah naval base and then handed over to Illegal Migration Department,” he said.
Libya’s western coast is the main departure point for thousands of migrants trying to reach Europe as they flee wars and poverty. The number of crossings has dropped sharply since July 2017 when an armed group expelled a network of human traffickers from a smuggling hub of Sabratha west of Tripoli.
The oil-rich African country is still grappling with chaos seven years after a NATO-backed uprising that toppled dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Popular pig roast canceled amid complaints about cooking a pig
An annual fund-raiser for a Chester County volunteer fire department has been scuttled due to protests over pork.
The Malvern Fire Company was set to host its sixth annual pig roast Aug. 4 but has canceled the event after numerous calls, complaints, and threats of protests over the animal being cooked and served, according to company officials. It was unclear who made the complaints.
Fire Chief Chris Gastwirth confirmed the event’s cancellation, saying that alternative plans will be discussed by his colleagues and their board of trustees at a closed-door meeting Wednesday. He declined to comment further, referring questions to Matt Miles, the company’s assistant chief and president of its board.
Miles did not immediately return a request for comment.
Jim Rapp, Malvern’s deputy fire chief, posted in a community forum on Facebook that the company was considering “a movie night along with food trucks at the Paoli Memorial Grounds in the next few months.”
The pig roast debuted at the firehouse in 2013 as a fund-raising opportunity for the volunteer company, whose ranks include about 70 members, according to its website.

Netflix won’t air documentary on controversial Louis Farrakhan after ‘internal miscommunication’
Netflix will not release a documentary about the life of Louis Farrakhan after all, despite the controversial Nation of Islam leader’s claim that it would hit the streaming giant on Wednesday, a company spokesperson told Fox News on Tuesday.
“This film will not be released on Netflix. Due to an internal miscommunication, it appeared to be scheduled for release on Netflix, but it is not. We apologize for any confusion this has caused,” the Netflix spokesperson said.
Netflix issued the statement after Fox News asked about a tweet sent by Farrakhan to promote the film.

A .22 handgun proved to be the difference-maker when a North Carolina woman used it to shoot at a man who broke into a storage building on her property last week.

The Robesonian reports that the unidentified woman arrived home in St. Pauls at around 6:40 p.m. when she heard a strange noise coming from the storage building next to her house. The woman walked over to the building, opened the door and found a man later identified as 39-year-old James Dority standing in the corner.
A news release from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office states that the woman said Dority aggressively “lunged” at her when she opened the door, prompting her to pull a .22 pistol and shoot Dority five times.
Robeson County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene; Dority was taken to a hospital shortly thereafter. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening. It doesn’t appear that the woman suffered any injuries during the incident.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) focuses its law enforcement efforts against illegal immigrants toward criminals and public safety threats. They helped to make over 4,800 gang related arrests in FY2017. Through the first half of FY2018, more than two-thirds of all persons arrested by ICE are convicted criminals. For example, according to federal officials cited by the Los Angeles Daily News, a three-day federal immigration sweep targeting convicted criminals in the U.S. illegally resulted in 162 arrests across Southern California last June. These included a Mexican national arrested who had been convicted of rape, a previously deported El Salvadorian who had been convicted of voluntary manslaughter, and sex offenders against children. In a separate action last June, ICE removed an El Salvadoran illegal immigrant who was the subject of an active arrest warrant in El Salvador for affiliation with a criminal organization (MS-13). ICE also removed an Irish national who was a member of the organized crime syndicate “Cock-Wall Gang” and had served time for manslaughter in Ireland. He had entered the U.S. through the Visa Waiver Program that President Trump has so strongly criticized and overstayed his visa. These are just a few examples of ICE successes in helping to keep Americans safe from illegal immigrant predators.
“Every day the brave men and women of ICE are liberating communities and towns from savage gangs like MS-13 that are occupying our country like another nation would,” President Trump said at a rally in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday. “We want maximum border security and respect for our heroes ICE, border patrol, and law enforcement.” Most Americans would agree with the president. However, many Leftists want to shut down ICE.

After all the wailing about the children streaming across our wide-open, wall-less border, there was very little media interest in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday on this very subject. Knowing facts could interfere with their showboating displays of compassion.
Among the facts journalists might have learned is that, although the Constitution technically gives Congress the power to write laws, it turns out our immigration laws are written by the ACLU.
The children clamoring across our border can’t be held for more than 20 days. This isn’t because Congress, after hearings, debate and negotiation, passed a law. The 20-day rule was the ACLU’s innovation.
The Alien Civil Liberties Union brought endless lawsuits, resulting in a 1997 “settlement agreement” between two parties who appeared to be opposed, but were actually on the same side: the pro-open borders Janet Reno Justice Department versus the pro-open borders ACLU. No, no — not the briar patch, ACLU! Anything but that!
The 20-day limit is unfortunate because, from capture to final order, an immigration proceeding takes 30 to 40 days. Illegals who are detained at the border cost the taxpayers $1,600 to remove. By contrast, releasing illegals, even under the much-celebrated “alternatives to detention” (ankle monitors and “community supervision”), costs U.S. taxpayers $75,000 per removal — and most of them don’t ever get removed. By some estimates, 90 percent don’t even show up for their hearings.

In the latest opinion poll, the nationalist party yet again built on its meteoric rise, placing ahead of the conservative Moderate Party making it look increasingly likely they will become country’s second largest party.
The Sweden Democrats has gained support in the polls as it focuses its campaign on refugees and migrants ahead of the September election.
It scored 22 percent in the latest poll – only two points behind the leftist Social Democrats and three percent ahead of the Moderates – as establishment parties continue to lose ground.
The poll by Novus, carried out between June 25 and July 22, found Stefan Löfven’s Social Democrats topped the list with 24 percent. The party is plummeting in popularity compared to four years ago when they entered into a left-wing coalition with the Green Party with 31 percent of the vote.
The Sweden Democrats, led by Jimmie Åkesson, is set for its best ever election result on September 9 and is projected to win 76 seats – adding 27 to its current total.
The Sweden Democrats have earned support for demanding a migration freeze and a crackdown on crime.
According to the Novus poll, which surveyed the voting intentions of 4,808 people aged 18 and above, a leftist coalition formed by the Social Democrats, Greens and the socialist Left party would be able to form a minority government with 38 percent of the vote.
The Alliance, formed by the Moderates, Centre Party, Liberals and Christian Democrats, would fall just short with 36 percent.
But with votes so close, the deadlock could make the Sweden Democrats kingmakers, depending on how willing the opposition parties would be to deprive them of their casting vote.
Many observers believe Mr Åkesson is setting the political agenda in the Nordic nation.
Earlier this month he said the the Sweden Democrats’ hard-line policies were driven by “love and confidence” in Sweden.
He added: “If we are the second biggest or biggest party in parliament and the other parties still believe we can be ignored, and pretend we don’t exist, then we must flex our muscles.””

“Seven “youths” in the French town of Rochefort have been arrested after setting cars on fire, explaining they wanted to act like how those in the “big cities” do.
The seven young people, aged between 18 and 24, were arrested in the western French town and are accused of setting ten fires, including to vehicles and garbage bins, between mid-June and early July, Sud Ouest reports.
Following their arrest, four members of the group admitted to starting the fires while the three others denied the crime but claimed to be confused over the charges saying they were just acting as other youths do in France’s larger cities.
Last week, police in the region posted pictures of some of the vehicles that were burned including a white van and several garbage bins which had melted from the fire.
The suspects are set to be tried in court in December facing charges of arson.
Car burnings have become a common sight on both New Year’s Eve and in the summer on Bastille Day in Paris as well as other major cities across the country, with 1,031 vehicles set on fire last New Year’s Eve.
French Sociologist Michel Wieviorka labelled the car burnings “playful” earlier this year, claiming that there was no political element to the arson and saying: “It is very easy, technically, to set a vehicle on fire and run away immediately.”
Mass car burnings have also taken place in protest following perceived cases of police brutality. The most recent riots, which lasted for several nights in early July, occurred in Nantes following the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old who tried to evade a police checkpoint.
“I saw everything burning. There were fires in the bins, the cars. They were breaking everything. It lasted ages,” a witness said.”

Trump Vows Border Wall Showdown

President Trump raised the specter of a federal government shutdown Sept. 30 if Congress refuses to hand over money to build the southern border wall that the American people have been demanding for decades.
Trump seems aware that, contrary to perceived wisdom, furloughing feds for a few days is smart politics that almost invariably benefits the Republican Party. Recent history shows that when Republicans shutter the government in Washington, they win elections.
“If we don’t get border security after many, many years of talk within the United States, I would have no problem doing a shutdown,” Trump said at the White House Monday during a joint presser with Giuseppe Conte, Italy’s new prime minister who has already gained a reputation as an immigration hardliner.
Trump praised Conte’s stance on immigration and called U.S. immigration laws a “laughingstock” and the “worst” in the world.
“And I agree very much what you’re doing with respect to migration and illegal immigration, and even legal immigration,” Trump told the Italian premier. “Italy has taken a very firm stance on the border, a stance a few countries have taken. And, frankly, you’re doing the right thing, in my opinion. And a lot of other countries in Europe should be doing it also.”

SIGAR: Afghan Heroin Production ‘Flourishes’ in Territory Held by Kabul (breitbart, Aug 2, 2018)

“The unprecedented level of Afghan opium cultivation has spread across the country to areas held by both Taliban terrorists and the U.S.-backed Kabul government.
This transition makes Kabul the top owner of areas producing the deadly heroin that has become a scourge across the globe, according to an assessment released by an American watchdog this week.
Citing the United Nations and the U.S.-NATO mission Resolute Support (RS), the latest quarterly (April 1 to June 30) report prepared for American lawmakers by U.S. Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) – an office created by Congress to keep tabs on the nearly 17-year-old war – found the U.S.-backed Afghan government controls more of “the highest intensity” poppy cultivating areas.
SIGAR chief John Sopko wrote:
Combining the [U.N.] data with the RS data shows that poppy cultivation flourishes in Afghanistan under both insurgent and government control. SIGAR’s analysis challenges the general assumption that insurgents control the highest poppy-cultivating areas or that poppy is predominantly grown in areas with insurgent activity. RS data show that the government controls or influences more districts than the insurgents, including poppy-cultivating districts. This relationship holds true for the absolute area of poppy cultivation, but is particularly evident when comparing poppy-cultivation intensity across districts.
Of the 172 districts deemed by SIGAR as high (57), medium (57), and low intensity (58) for the multi-billion-dollar opium and heroin business, the Afghan government controls or influences 91 districts. Insurgents like the Taliban control or influence 29, while the remaining 52 are contested.
This means the vast majority of the high-profile opium cultivation area producing the heroin that has been making its way into the United States, where it causes tens of thousands of deaths, is controlled by the U.S.-backed and funded Afghan government that has received nearly $1 trillion in funding since the war started in October 2001.
The total number of 91 high (14.21 hectares of opium per kilometer squared or less), medium (0.73 hectares per kilometer squared or less), and low intensity (0.10 hectare per kilometer squared or less) opium districts controlled by Kabul mark a more than three-fold increase from the 29 held by the Taliban.
Even the number of districts contested are more than 40 percent lower than those held by the government. The government appears to be the drug kingpin of the heroin business, at least at the moment.
Sopko notes:

Ultimately, the Taliban and corrupt Kabul government officials are reaping billions of dollars from the lucrative poppy business in Afghanistan, the world’s top producer of opium and its heroin derivative.
“The value of 2017’s opium output was between $4.1 billion and $6.6 billion, or equivalent to 20 to 32 percent of Afghanistan’s entire gross domestic product,” Sopko declared last month, noting that the illicit opium business appears to be the country’s top job producer.
At least in public, the U.S. and Kabul do not discuss the future of the lucrative poppy fields in peace negotiations with the Taliban.
Acknowledging that Colombia has once again become the world’s top cocaine producer in the world amid U.S.-backed peace negotiations between the terrorist FARC – the top cocaine supplier in the region – and the South American government, Rep. Albio Sires (D-NJ) urged the Trump administration not to turn a blind eye to heroin production in Afghanistan during peace talks.
Addressing witness Alice Wells, one of the Trump administration diplomats who is now reportedly negotiating with the Taliban:
I’m very hopeful that we do have a prospect for peace in Afghanistan. But I look at the Colombia Peace Pact and I see what it’s done to the drug — drug growth in that — in that country. And I just want to make sure that, when we talk about peace, we do take in consideration that this is a very lucrative business in Afghanistan.
And, I don’t know if we want to continue just basically saying it’s OK for them to keep growing this, the opium growth.
A recent Politico investigation found that the former President Barack Obama’s administration ignored the skyrocketing production of opium and heroin that ultimately fueled the deadly U.S. drug crisis.
While Latin America countries like Mexico and Colombia are top producers of heroin, some experts suggest they do not produce nearly enough for all the addicts in the United States.
The Politico investigation notes that Afghan heroin is entering the U.S. through Canada. The U.S. government maintains the vast majority of heroin comes from South Asia and flows across the U.S.-Mexico border.
Al-Qaeda in Africa, a middleman for shipping Afghan heroin to the Americas, has been working with Mexican drug cartels according to the U.S. military.
As the U.S. allegedly engages directly with the Taliban in negotiations to end the war, the future of the multi-billion dollar opium cultivation and heroin production that is so vital to the country’s economy appears uncertain. One optimistic scenario could find legal Afghan opium production for medicinal purposes reducing Afghanistan’s reliance on American taxpayer-funded assistance.
The U.S. State Department has come out against allowing Afghanistan to legalize heroin for medicinal purposes, arguing the country “would not be able to compete internationally and there would be a high risk of ‘leakage,’ namely opium finding its way back into the illegal drug trade,” the Diplomat reported in 2014.
According to SIGAR, the Afghan government’s stronghold with the largest levels of cultivation in 2017 are spread across Afghanistan from northern Badakhshan province (3,658 hectares or opium) that borders China, Helmand (18,464 hectares) and Kandahar (7,605 hectares) along the Pakistan border, and Nimroz Province (4,167 hectares).
The U.S. military has revealed that heroin primarily moves out of Afghanistan across its borders with Pakistan, Iran, and in the north, which means the Afghan government has the perfect set up.
SIGAR acknowledges that not all provinces are being fully covered by satellite imagery, which suggests the numbers could be even higher.”
I’d love to watch napalm consume Afghanistan.
