  1. German Intelligence Accuses Iranian Embassy of Spying on Opponents (aawsat, Jul 26, 2018)

“A report by Germany’s domestic intelligence service (BfV) revealed that Tehran is using the Iranian embassy in Berlin to spy on the Iranian opposition, and that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and its arm for foreign operations, the Quds Force, were also active in the country.

This annual report, which was revealed by Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, came a few weeks after Berlin arrested an Iranian diplomat working for the Austrian embassy and charged him with terrorism and giving instructions to Iranians in Belgium to carry out terrorist attacks against an opposition group in the European country.

Iranian diplomat Abdullah Asadi was arrested while in Bavaria, Germany, with a European arrest warrant. His trial in Germany began while Belgium was also demanding his extradition for trial on its territory.

The German intelligence report said spying operations in Germany were run by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and National Security, and that they gathered mainly information about dissidents in Germany, but their operations sometimes extended to other European countries.

On the Iranian Quds Force, the report said that its operations were mainly aimed at Israeli and Jewish targets. But the report said no concrete threat was identified against specific targets or people in Germany.

The report revealed that a Pakistani citizen was convicted by a Berlin court of spying for Iran in March last year and sentenced to 4 years and 3 months of imprisonment. According to the report, the convict had been in contact since 2011 with a member of the Quds Force in charge of intelligence operations in Europe.

German intelligence has revealed that Tehran was trying to influence Shiites of various nationalities living in Germany, through a number of centers and institutions it runs in the country. The report mentioned the Islamic Center in Hamburg, which follows the Imam Ali mosque in the same city.

BfV also cited the “ongoing threat” from Lebanon’s “Hezbollah,” saying: “We must expect Hezbollah to continue planning terrorist operations outside the Middle East against Israeli targets.””

  2. Hayward: Al-Qaeda Group Funded by Obama Admin Supported Bin Laden, Hamas, Afghan Terrorists (breitbart, Jul 26, 2018)

“The bombshell revelation on Wednesday that the Obama administration funded an al-Qaeda group in Sudan ten years after it was designated a foreign terrorist organization merely scratched the surface of what the Islamic Relief Agency (ISRA) stands accused of.

For a full account of the group that received $325,000 in U.S. taxpayer money in 2014 and 2015, we must turn to the U.S. Treasury Department documents Team Obama apparently did not bother to read…”

  3. UK: Ashraf Khan Jailed for Fathering Three Children with Daughter (breitbart, Jul 26, 2018)

“Ashraf Khan, 81, was jailed for committing incest by fathering three children with his own daughter, the abuse only coming to light after the victim told her husband on her deathbed.

Bradford Crown Court had heard that the victim, one of Khan’s six children, had been born in Pakistan where she married her husband and moved to the UK to join her father, also a Pakistani national.

It was during the 1980s that the abuse began and she gave birth to three of her father’s children before passing away in the early 1990s, the Telegraph and Argus reports.

Before she died, the woman told her husband the truth of the parentage of their three children. He did not inform authorities until 2012, Prosecutor Abigail Langford explaining: “He wished to continue to act as a father and care for the children he had brought up as his own.”

Khan was not questioned by police until he returned from Pakistan in 2016, and when he was interviewed in September of that year, the court heard he “denied having any sexual relations with his daughter”.

However, DNA evidence was used to “confirm what his wife had told him in her dying moments”, Ms Langford said.

There was also other medical evidence presented to the court said to be “directly attributed to their incestual parentage”, including an inability to feel certain pain resulting in the offspring suffering injuries such as burns during their childhoods…”

  4. Jordanian-born man convicted of capital murder (abcnews, Jul 26, 2018)

“A Texas jury deliberated just 35 minutes Thursday before finding a Jordanian-born man guilty of capital murder in the 2012 deaths of his son-in-law and a close friend of his daughter.

The verdict in Harris County came a day after Ali Mahwood-Awad Irsan testified in his own defense against his attorney’s advice.

Jurors will begin hearing evidence Friday morning on punishment. Irsan could be sentenced either to death by lethal injection or life imprisonment without parole for killing Coty Beavers and Gelareh Bagherzadeh.

Irsan testified that his daughter caused his family pain after running away and marrying Beavers, who was Christian. Bagherzadeh, an Iranian women’s rights activist who was his daughter’s close friend, encouraged the marriage.

He admitted Wednesday to numerous lies but argued that he doesn’t remember what he said while angry…”

  5. America’s Next Civil War Will Be Worse Than Our Last

Of that we can be sure.

In the summer of 1862, just weeks before the Battle of Sharpsburg (or Antietam) — the bloodiest single day of fighting in American history — Union Captain George Armstrong Custer attended the wedding of Confederate Captain John “Gimlet” Lea at Bassett Hall in Williamsburg, Virginia, as best man. The Union officer was dressed in blue, the Confederate officer in grey, and Custer being Custer spent the next two weeks flirting with the Southern belle cousin of the bride, even joining her in singing “Dixie.”

At one point she told him, “You ought to be in our army.”

“What would you give me if I resigned my commission in the Northern army and joined the Southern?”

“You are not in earnest, are you?”

He wasn’t, of course. Custer was nothing if not loyal, and he believed that he was bound to the Union by the oath he had sworn at West Point, whatever his affection for Southern officers and their ladies.

Such gallantry seems unthinkable today, when members of the Trump administration are hounded from restaurants and theatres, and Confederate officers like John Lea, if they are remembered at all, are considered precursors of the German National Socialists, and their once famous and respected commanders like Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Jeb Stuart have their statues toppled and banished from public squares, their names stripped from public schools, and their memories spat upon and disgraced.

The difference between the America of today and the America of what seems like just yesterday is that we once had a common culture. As recently as 1990, Ken Burns could make a Civil War documentary for PBS and let historian Shelby Foote wax eloquent on the martial prowess of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest — something that now would likely get them both tarred, feathered, and Twitter-banned.

Yes, there were big differences between North and South a century and a half ago. The South was a slave-holding, free-trading, libertarian-leaning, conservative Christian, agricultural, aristocratic Sparta, while the North was a commercial, industrial, protectionist, Transcendentalist, social gospel, democratic Athens. But they held far more in common than separated them — beginning with the fact that, as Lincoln observed, “Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God.”

    • He is right, the coming civil war will not be a war of large formations of soldiers but more like the Border War between Free State Kansas and Slave State Missouri. (FYI in the interest of full honesty during the civil war one of my Fathers Grandfather (the one with the same last name) fought as a Union Infantryman, the other one rode with Quantrill.) It will be small bands of fighters raiding and murdering the supporters of the other side. It will also last longer the the First Civil War, I don’t doubt that the side of freedom will win if for no other reason our side has the most trained people who will thin out the enemy very quickly. Those left won’t be enough to win but will hold out for as long as they can so they can kill a few more. It will be long and it will be bloody.

      God Help us All.
