GAZA/JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Palestinian gunmen killed an Israeli soldier along the Gaza border on Friday, said the Israeli military, which launched dozens of strikes into Gaza that killed four Palestinians, including three Hamas fighters.
The soldier was the first to be killed on the Gaza front in active duty since a 2014 war between Israel and Hamas, an Israeli army spokesman said. He was on “operational activity” when he and colleagues came under fire, the military said.
At least four Palestinians were killed in later Israeli strikes, according to Palestinian medical officials. Hamas, the armed Islamist movement which controls Gaza, said three of the dead were its fighters. The fourth was a protester, local residents and medics said. At least 120 Gazans were wounded.

Austria rejects registering Jews for kosher meat
Vienna (AFP) – Austria rejected Friday registering Jews who want to purchase kosher meat after a far-right politician proposed introducing stricter controls on ritual slaughtering to reduce the practice citing animal rights.
Gottfried Waldhaeusl, a cabinet minister of Lower Austria and member of the Freedom Party (FPOe), made headlines this week when he called for controls, including registration, to rein in the slaughtering of animals without first stunning them.
But Austrian government spokemsan Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal said the country would “protect the freedoms and fundamental rights of our Jewish fellow citizens and can assure that they will be upheld and in no way limited”.
“The Austrian Federal Government rejects any form of personal registration in connection with the purchase of kosher meat, such an idea is out of question and will certainly not take place in Austria,” he tweeted.
Waldhaeusl had cited animal protection, saying registration was necessary to ensure ritual slaughtering was done only for those who show they belong to a religious community and need the meat.

Court ruling will enable Trump to close an Obama ‘funny money’ loophole in federal agency

Last fall, I reported on some of the ways the Obama administration used federal regulatory powers to generate fine and assessment income for the government that could basically be used as a set of slush funds.
The highest profile use of the slush-fund money was distributing it to Obama’s favored far-left activist groups, like the National Council of La Raza and the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC). Perhaps more disquieting, however, was the reality that we simply don’t know what was done with most of the money.
Its use never had to be accounted for to Congress. Since it wasn’t appropriated by Congress for a named budgetary purpose, there is no effective audit trail on what happened to it. It went to the U.S. Treasury. But that by itself doesn’t mean it was put to a use the taxpayers – or the law – would approve of.
As noted in my September 2017 article, Jeff Sessions put a stop last year to the practice of awarding money from Justice Department settlement fines to activist groups. That was a step in the right direction.

JOHANNESBURG (AP) – A 10-year-old girl has bled to death after undergoing female genital mutilation in Somalia, an activist said, a rare confirmed death in the country with the world’s highest rate of the practice.
The girl died in a hospital on Monday, two days after her mother took her to a traditional circumciser in a remote village outside Dhusamareb town in central Galmudug state, Hawa Aden Mohamed with the Galkayo Education Center for Peace and Development said in a statement.
“The circumciser is suspected to cut an important vein in the course of the operation,” Mohamed said.
About 98 percent of women and girls in the Horn of Africa nation undergo female genital mutilation, according to the United Nations. While Somalia’s constitution prohibits the practice, Mohamed said no laws have been enacted to ensure that those who perform the circumcisions are punished.
Lawmakers are “afraid of losing their political clout among the all-powerful conservative traditional and religious groups bent at retaining the practice,” she said.

But inside the doors of Imperial China restaurant on Lisle Street the mood is more sombre and business owners and members of the London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA) are gathered to discuss their fears about the future of the area. They say a tightening of immigration rules means that the area, established in Soho since the 1970s, could disappear.
One issue is heavy-handed enforcement raids community leaders say feel like “fishing” for illegal immigrants. Businesses complain that Home Office vans are visiting monthly, often without warrants, and disrupting trade.
Joseph Wu, a spokesperson for the LCCA, question the motives of the visits that sit as part of what was previously known as the “hostile environment” strategy, pursued by the government since 2010 to make living in the UK as uncomfortable as possible for illegal migrants. He believes the community is being seen as an “easy-target”, with raids not always “intelligence-led”.

CHRISTCHURCH – The streets of Christchurch, New Zealand’s whitest city, saw a near riot and violent beatings on Wednesday as a local branch of the Cancer Society NZ was mistaken for a neo-Nazi group as they held a fundraising march. Police said at least 50 people were seriously injured but the injuries are still not as bad as their cancer.
“With their shaven heads, camouflage clothing and morbid appearance, it’s believed the counter demonstrators thought they were attacking some local skinheads”, said Christchurch Police Superintendent Lane Todd.
The fundraising march was organised by volunteers from the Christchurch branch of the Cancer Society NZ. It was hoping to raise awareness about different types of cancer prevalent in New Zealand and raise some money for new wigs and the odd prostitute to keep the terminal lads in check.
As the fundraisers made their way down into Christchurch’s CBD, it appears they are spotted by some shitless layabouts who have taken them as neo-Nazi’s. As the Cancer Society marchers made their way further into the CBD, counter protestors verbally and physically attacked the marchers.
Eyewitness Grace Moran saw the attack unfold. “All of a sudden I saw all these anti-Facist type scum erupt out of nowhere. They were tipping over wheelchairs and squirting sunscreen into people’s eyes.”
“At one point I heard someone yell, ‘You bald headed cunt, I’ll give you an Auschwitz you’ll never forget’.”
The fundraising march never progressed past its starting point and after the initial violence broke out, a number of confrontations took place nearby. In some cases, Cancer Society members and random bald men were attacked by counter demonstrators who threw human shit and local pigeons who had been doused in petrol and set on fire.
Christchurch Police Superintendent Lane Rodd said it was a sad day for people suffering from cancer and for pigeons alike.
The Cancer Society released a statement condemning the violence and mourning the loss of many key members who have since died from their injuries.
“We really thought the cancer would get old Tom, but in the end it was some unemployed millennial using a flaming pigeon as a weapon. Ironic really.”

Londoners are the least likely regional group in the UK to be relaxed with pre-marital sex and homosexuality, with researchers blaming “religious differences” for the discrepancy with the rest of the country.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly given a key Democratic operative immunity to testify against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.

Gun-rights activists have reached a settlement with the government that will allow them to post 3-D printable gun plans online starting August 1.
The settlement ends a multi-year legal battle that started when Cody Wilson, who describes himself as a post-left anarchist, posted plans for a 3-D printed handgun he called “The Liberator” in 2013.
The single-shot pistol was made almost entirely out of of ABS plastic — the same stuff they make Lego bricks out of — that could be made on a 3-D printer. The only metal parts were the firing pin and a piece of metal included to comply with the Undetectable Firearms Act.

As homicide and violent crime – including knife, gun, and sex attacks – continue to rise in the UK, more than 90 percent of recorded crimes are not ending in a charge, new figures reveal.
In fact, the proportion of crimes resulting in a charge or summons fell by two percentage points in a year, continuing a downward trend from a high of 15 percent in 2015, a report published Thursday shows.
In the 12 months to March this year, 443,000 crimes out of 4.6 million resulted in a charge or summons, the Home Office document said.
On the same day, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed that, over the same time period, sexual offences have risen by 31 percent, knife and sharp implement attacks by 16 percent, and homicides by 12 percent.

A London Labour-controlled council removed an “offensive” satirical painting of Mayor Sadiq Khan in swimwear, just weeks before Khan’s Greater London Authority allowed a balloon depicting U.S. President Donald J. Trump as a baby to fly above the city in the name of free speech.
Contractors were called in to remove two murals, one showing the Mayor in a so-called ‘Mankini’ and the other of the Prime Minister in a suggestive pose, from outside Food Bazaar Cafe? in Gray’s Inn Road in Holborn, north London, two weeks ago, West End Extra reports.
The decision by the Labour-controlled London council to remove the caricature of Mayor Khan on grounds of taste has inevitably drawn comparisons and even accusations of hypocrisy to the decision by the Labour-controlled Greater London Authority to permit a 20-foot inflatable caricature of President Donald Trump on grounds of freedom of speech.
Of the murals, Camden Council said the works fell into a “contentious” category, which includes anything perceivably “obscene, racist, political, and religious”.

The Swedish government wants to allocate 5 million Swedish crowns (around half a million euros) in migrant sex courses, news outlet Fria Tider reports. A portion of the money will be spent on the government’s sex information website “Youmo”, which provides translation in Arabic, Somali and Dari.
The goal of the website is to teach migrants “health, sexuality and gender equality”. On the website, sex information is illustrated, among other things, with several pictures of foreign men with blonde, Swedish women.

(AP) — Hungarian lawmakers have approved a 25 percent tax on financial or material support for groups promoting migration.
The special tax embodies the anti-migrant policies of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who says that the mass entry into Europe by mainly Muslim migrants threatens the continent’s Christian culture.
The bill, passed Friday as part of wider changes to Hungary’s tax laws, says revenues from the new tax can be used only on border defense.

Following an agreement between France and Morocco, several Moroccan police officers are scheduled to be sent to Paris to help deal with young delinquent migrants.
A total of four officers from the North African country are set to patrol the Goutte d’Or neighbourhood of Paris — where many migrants live on the streets — alongside their French counterparts to combat the growing problems with violence, drugs, and prostitution, BFMTV reports.
According to police, the number of crimes since 2017 in the neighbourhood has increased drastically due to the presence of the young Moroccans and police had made 813 arrests of migrants in Goutte d’Or in the past year.
The Moroccan police will not only be supporting French officers but also attempting to identify migrants for deportation back to Morocco.

BREITBART – Salvini to Form Populist Grand Alliance Ahead of 2019 European Parliament Elections
Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has announced his intention to form a grand alliance of populists from across Europe ahead of next year’s European Union parliamentary elections.
The populist leader of the League (Lega), which formed an anti-establishment coalition earlier this year with the Five Star Movement (M5S), made his comments on Friday, saying that he wanted to unite the populist parties to challenge the establishment parliamentary groups, Kronen Zeitung reports.
“I want to unite the parties that will form the new majority in the European Parliament, the parties in Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, and Germany,” Salvini said.
The announcement comes only weeks after Salvini said that he aimed to make the League not only an Italian movement but also a European one.
“I want to give voice to another kind of Europe, the Europe of the hope of work and certainty, and all the parties will have to choose which side to be on,” he said, adding that the goal of the movement would be to free Europe from the globalist push for mass migration and failed economic policies.
Salvini noted that next year’s EU parliamentary elections were “essential”, adding on to previous statements made last month in which he said: “Next year will see new European Parliament elections. Within one year, we will see if a united Europe still exists or if it doesn’t.”
Since making the move to block NGO migrant ferries from Italian ports in June, the popularity of both Salvini and the League has soared, with some polls showing the party to be even more popular than their Five Star Movement coalition partners, who became Italy’s largest single party after the last election.
The League also saw massive gains in local elections last month, with many historically left-wing towns supporting them. Following the result, Salvini commented: “The more the left insults us, the more the citizens reward us.”

PARIS – French investigators on Saturday raided the house of one of French President Emmanuel Macron’s top security aides, a man who was caught on camera beating a young protester in May.
Alexandre Benalla‘s involvement in the beating and questions about the government’s handling of the affair is turning into Macron’s biggest political crisis since he took office last year.
[ his real name : Lahcène Benahlia ]The presidential Elysee Palace fired bodyguard Benalla a day before police raided his home Saturday morning in the Parisian suburb of Issy-Les-Moulineaux, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office.
Benalla was identified earlier this week by the Le Monde newspaper for beating a young protester during May Day protests while wearing a police helmet. He and a second man are facing potential charges and are in police custody until Sunday.
Regular parliamentary work has been paralyzed for two days with questions about why it took 2 1/2 months to inform judicial officials and why Benalla stayed in his post during that time. Questions over whether there was an official cover-up of his actions have also been raised, and whether Elysee employees have a measure of impunity not granted to others.
French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb will face questions from parliament next week to see if the government failed to properly discipline Benalla.
Despite his official change to a desk job, Benalla was seen this month on the ground with police at several high-profile events, including the return home Monday of France’s soccer World Cup-winning team, an event attended by hundreds of thousands.
The belated referral of the issue to judicial authorities and what was widely viewed as insufficient action at the time by the Elysee Palace has triggered a firestorm from the opposition.
Macron has continued to keep a low profile and has, thus far, not spoken about the events.

A pub singer has been arrested on suspicion of racism for singing the classic chart hit Kung Fu Fighting.
The song, performed by Simon Ledger, 34, is said to have offended two Chinese people as they walked past the bar where he was singing.
The entertainer regularly performs the 1974 number one hit, originally by disco star Carl Douglas, at the Driftwood Beach Bar in Sandown, on the Isle of Wight.
