A spokesperson for the Philadelphia School District confirmed with NBC10 they were investigating the allegations.

A Philadelphia teacher was fired for allegedly taking bribes from students in exchange for better grades.
NBC10 first received a tip that Amanda Richardson, a humanities teacher at the LINC High School on W. Erie Ave., was accused of accepting bribes from her students and giving them good grades in return. A spokesperson for the Philadelphia School District confirmed with NBC10 they were investigating the allegations.
“We are aware of the situation and once it was brought to our attention, we acted immediately,” the spokesperson wrote. “The teacher was promptly removed from the school and both the Inspector General and Philadelphia Police have been notified. The School District of Philadelphia is fully cooperating with the investigation.”
The school district did not specify exactly what the alleged bribes were. They continue to investigate.

Iran stands ground on nuclear inspections as France warns of red line
VIENNA/PARIS (Reuters) – Iran will not cooperate more fully with atomic inspectors until a standoff over its nuclear deal is resolved, its U.N. envoy said, as one signatory warned Tehran against moving ahead with preparations to boost its uranium enrichment capacity.
European powers have been scrambling to salvage the agreement they signed in 2015 since U.S. President Donald Trump pulled Washington out last month and said he would reimpose far-reaching U.S. sanctions on Iran.
Foreign and finance ministers from those three countries – France, Britain and Germany – have written to U.S. officials to stress their commitment to upholding the pact, and to urge Washington to spare EU firms active in Iran from secondary sanctions.
An Iranian withdrawal from the deal, which lifted sanctions on Tehran in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program, would “further unsettle a region where additional conflicts would be disastrous,” the ministers wrote in the letter dated June 4 and seen by Reuters on Wednesday.
Since the U.S. pullout was announced, authorities in Tehran have sent mixed signals on whether they believe the nuclear deal’s remaining signatories, which also include China and Russia, can salvage it.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said on Monday he had ordered preparations to increase uranium enrichment capacity if the agreement collapsed.

China says not scared after reported U.S. bomber trip over South China Sea
BEIJING (Reuters) – No military ship or aircraft can scare China away from its resolve to protect its territory, China’s Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday after two U.S. Air Force B-52 bombers were reported to have flown near disputed islands in the South China Sea.
CNN reported that the two aircraft flew within the vicinity of the Spratly Islands, where China has reclaimed land and built runways and other facilities on disputed reefs and small islands.
The United States was willing to work with China on a “results-oriented” relationship, but its actions in the South China Sea were coercive and the Pentagon would “compete vigorously” if needed, U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said on Saturday.
The United States and China have frequently sparred about who is really militarizing the South China Sea, where China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines all have competing claims.
Speaking at a daily news briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said she hoped the United States could clarify whether it thought sending “this type of offensive weapon” to the South China Sea counted as militarization.

Life is coming at us fast. It seems remarkable, on the face of it, that Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) offered this information in general speech time on the House floor on 5 June 2018, the day federal prosecutors reportedly obtained a seventh continuance from the D.C. federal court in the Imran Awan case – but then, hours later, were said to have wrapped up a plea deal with Awan and his wife Hina Alvi.
At this point, it’s hard to decide what to make of it. Based on all the reporting to date, let’s say it doesn’t sound good. (Note: an alternative reading might be that the FBI is working on something so big that an appearance must be maintained that the Bureau is unalerted and unaware. That seems a bit far-fetched, but in 2018, who would argue that it’s impossible? I continue to find it very unlikely that Jeff Sessions has actually gone brain-dead.)

Like J.E.Dyer I don’t know what to make of this, on face value it is another sign of massive corruption and even treason at the higher levels of the Department of Justice and the FBI. As J.E. points out there could, I repeat could be an investigation that is so big and important the FBI wants to keep the appearance of doing nothing to keep from scaring the bad guys. This seems highly unlikely but given what is coming about the Obama administration it is safe to say that nothing no matter how improbable is impossible.

Big move: Imran Awan and wife Hina Alvi said to make plea deal with prosecutors

Well, this is big (if, as they say, true). I haven’t seen a formal announcement posted at the Department of Justice or U.S. District Attorney for the District of Columbia site (the USDA for D.C. was the one that indicted Awan and Alvi in the D.C. federal court in August 2017). But according to reporter Alex Pappas, Imran Awan and Hina Alvi have reached a plea deal, as of Tuesday afternoon (5 June 2018), with federal prosecutors.

This is yesterdays report and was written before the statements that the FBI is avoiding receiving any evidence of wrong doing. Once again taking this report at face value the Anwans are going to sing but what and who are they going to sing about?
Now combine the two reports and either the unlikely scenario of the FBI having an investigation into something really really big going and want to keep the bad guys unaware is true. Or the scenario of massive corruption at the highest ranks of the FBI and the Department of Justice is true and the corrupt officials are ordering the lower ranking FBI to deliberately find no evidence any anything but minor corruption.
The third scenario is that the FBI bigwigs are stalling until after the November election to see which party is going to be in charge for the next couple of years. Once they know this they can see what is safer, doing nothing or discovering the crooks.
Or they are afraid of discovering anything now because it is so close to the November election and want to avoid being accused of doing things to ensure one of the parties wins the election.
When reading the dystopian SF novels I never thought they would come true, and right now it is looking like reality is trying to out do the novels for danger to freedom.

This is Bawer’s latest essay and deals with TR. I thought it interesting that he attacked Farage, Hannan and Delingpole.
I happen to agree with him.
To an extent I agree with him but I think he might want to take into consideration the fact that the people wo are denying that the the arrest and detention of Tommy is illegal aren’t living under the legal system that allowed this to happen. Those who are living under that system are being careful to keep on the safe side of the Tyrant Judges who are essentially making up crimes as they go along. Nigel and the others think they can do more good by remaining out of prison then by going to prison.
They are on the ground and know their chances of survival in Prison better then I do so I will defer to their decision to stay out of jail.
The only one I’m really familiar with is Nigel Farage.
He’s definitely a slippery, self-promoter. I like him, but he’s cagey.

A few weeks back, the government of Sweden sent out a booklet to every household in the country urging citizens to prepare for war or other crises.
A few months back, they told citizens that they should be prepared to last for at least a week without any help from the government.
Last night, in the most unsettling move yet, they mobilized the entire Swedish Home Guard for an “unannounced preparedness exercise.” All 40 battalions have been activated, effective immediately.

Why Mueller is Getting Desperate

$16.7 million. That’s the bill for the Mueller investigation.
The last spending phase, from October to March, included $2.7 million in salaries with another $532,340 in travel expenses. And there’s no sign that this hideously expensive circus is ever going to end.
The latest high-wire act in the circus is yet another accusation aimed at Paul Manafort. This time, Mueller’s favorite target is being accused of witness tampering. Like most of Mueller’s favorite charges, such as making false statements, this isn’t a crime being uncovered, but arises from the investigation.
The accusation is also obviously a means to an end. Mueller had bet everything on pressuring Paul.
The pre-dawn no-knock raid of Manafort’s home was unnecessary, but intimidating. And Mueller’s people were grousing ever since Manafort had been released from house arrest.
In December, they wanted to rip up his agreement because he had supposedly been working on an editorial which violated the gag order, even though it was never published. This time around there’s another claim that he was in contact with his old buddies “in an effort to influence their testimony and to otherwise conceal evidence”. Now the goal may be to move Manafort from home to prison.

James Livingston, a white Rutgers University professor of history, went on a racist rant against white children and their parents Thursday after visiting a Harlem restaurant.
Livingston, irritated by the very presence of white children at a local Harlem restaurant that he apparently frequents, penned a rant on Facebook that was captured by The Daily Caller.
The post targeted young, white children as “little Caucasian a**holes.”
