CNN harasses elderly Trump supporter over ‘involvement with Russians’

As Rich Noyes of NewsBusters reported on Monday, the network, along with MSNBC, “gave enthusiastic coverage to the Russian-organized anti-Trump rally” on Nov. 12, 2016 “with live reports every hour. Correspondents celebrated the idea that it was “a love rally,” and repeated the marchers’ anti-Trump mantras, such as: ‘We reject the President-elect.’”
But on Tuesday, the cable outlet singled out Trump supporters it claims were unwillingly duped by Russians during the 2016 campaign. New details are emerging about the suspected gunman in the Florida high school shooting.
Authorities say 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz legally purchased at least seven rifles weeks before the shooting, including an AK-47 style weapon.
He also legally purchased the AR-15 officials suspect was used in the shooting.
Defense Attorneys say Cruz will plead guilty to 17 counts of premeditated murder if prosecutors agree not to pursue the death penalty.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is set to re-open in phases starting Friday, and the district hopes to fully resume classes next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Florida state lawmakers are proposing new legislation to allow teachers and administrators to carry firearms on school campuses.

North Korea canceled planned meeting with Pence
WASHINGTON/SEOUL (Reuters) – U.S. Vice President Mike Pence was scheduled to meet with North Korean officials, including leader Kim Jong Un’s sister, while in South Korea for the Winter Olympics this month but the North Koreans canceled at the last minute, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.
“North Korea dangled a meeting in hopes of the Vice President softening his message, which would have ceded the world stage for their propaganda during the Olympics,” Pence’s chief of staff, Nick Ayers, said in a statement.
But after Pence condemned North Korean human rights abuses and announced plans for new economic sanctions, “they walked away from a meeting or perhaps they were never sincere about sitting down,” Ayers said.
Pence was going to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s younger sister, Kim Yo Jong, and the nominal head of state, Kim Yong Nam, but the North Koreans called off the Feb. 10 meeting two hours before it was set to start, a U.S. official said, confirming a story first reported by the Washington Post.
The encounter would have been the first scheduled between senior officials from the Trump administration and Pyongyang, which are in a standoff over the North’s development of nuclear weapons capable of hitting the United States.
“The President made a decision that if they wanted to talk, we would deliver our uncompromising message. If they asked for a meeting, we would meet. Three men have been arrested in the heavily migrant-populated Paris suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois for attacking a man by biting at his face and then eating the pieces of flesh they had bitten off.
The men, who all originally came from the African island nation of Cape Verde, were arrested on Sunday after they attacked a man who was walking in the Hector-Berlioz alley at around 6 pm and bit off pieces his ear and lower lip, Le Parisien reports.
The victim was able to fight off the attackers, wounding one of them in the ankle, before police arrived a short time later and arrested the three Africans.
Both the victim and the injured man were then taken to Montfermeil hospital.

A new medical report has claimed that the Afghan asylum seeker who stabbed 15-year-old Mia in the German town of Kandel late last year is not underage, but likely at least 20-years-old.
The Landau public prosecutor announced that the migrant, who claimed to be 15-years-old in December, is likely around 20, after a medical test examined his hands, teeth and other parts of his body through an x-ray exam, Die Welt reports.
While the medical test has shown that the Afghan asylum seeker is an adult, because he is not over the age of 21 he will still be tried as a juvenile. The maximum sentence he can receive as a juvenile is 15 years in prison, while an adult sentence can be as high as life in prison.

A Dutch lawyer unconnected to the unproven claim the Trump campaign somehow colluded with Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 election has pled guilty to lying to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators.
This failure – yet again – to indict a Trump campaign official in connection with the campaign’s allegedly collusive behavior appears to constitute another tacit admission by Mueller that the Left’s electoral collusion conspiracy theory that he was commissioned to investigate is utter nonsense. Charging all these people with lying, instead of with anything related to collusion, is likely a prosecutorial tactic to pressure somebody somewhere into doing something. Mueller’s real target seems to be former Trump campaign manager Paul J. Manafort Jr.
This small-potatoes indictment comes a year after the outlines of a Watergate-like conspiracy emerged in which a term-limited Democrat president used the privacy-invading apparatus of the state to spy on a Republican presidential candidate. Watergate differed in that President Nixon didn’t get involved in the plot against the Democratic National Committee until later as an accomplice after the fact.
Mueller’s latest piñata is Alex van der Zwaan, a Russian-speaking, London-based attorney and the son-in-law of Russian oligarch German Borisovich Khan. Khan, who is worth more than $10 billion, was born in Kiev, Ukraine and is reportedly a citizen of Russia, Ukraine, and Israel. Van der Zwaan, 33, married Khan’s daughter, art critic Eva Khan, last year.

Chicago’s WGN reported Monday that “a local Islamic group launched a billboard campaign Monday to educate people about the hijab, the headscarf that’s often worn by Muslim women. The billboards are the first of their kind in the country, designed by a group called GainPeace, which encourages non-Muslims to call the organization and ask questions to gain a better understanding of why women wear the hijab. The billboards draw a similarity to the Christian religion where Mary is considered the mother of Jesus. She also wore a hijab.”
As if that weren’t enough smooth deception for one day, the article quotes Sara Ahmed, a GainPeace volunteer, saying: “Wearing the hijab is 100 percent my choice. As contrary to the popular belief, hijab in no way oppresses us. In fact, it indicates the opposite as hijab symbolizes the power to women, and not inferiority.”

Abbas’s latest UN speech shows exactly why the “peace process” is dead.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas addressed the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday, February 20th. He delivered many of the same old Palestinian talking points. He claimed that the Palestinians remain open to negotiations based on the pre-June 1967 “borders,” with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital. “We are ready to take the longest journey,” Abbas declared. “We are ready to begin negotiations immediately.” After appealing to the Security Council for “help,” however, Abbas showed his true colors by walking out of the chamber immediately upon the conclusion of his speech. He apparently thought it was beneath his “dignity” to hear what the Israeli UN ambassador and the members of the Security Council had to say.
Abbas used his Security Council speech to blame the Israeli “occupation” and its continued settlements in violation of “international law” as the real obstacles to peace. He said that the Palestinians have engaged in dialogue with Israeli leaders on several occasions, and that Israel was responsible for shutting the door on a two-state solution. Abbas seemed to have forgotten that it was he who rejected several Israeli peace offers, including one that would have resulted in Israel’s virtual withdrawal from the West Bank, a connection between the West Bank and Gaza, and even placing the Old City under some form of international control.

American Pravda will not have its conspiracy theories, lies and narratives questioned.
Rob Goldman, Facebook’s VP of Ad Product, fired off two important tweets, “Most of the coverage of Russian meddling involves their attempt to effect the outcome of the 2016 US election. I have seen all of the Russian ads and I can say very definitively that swaying the election was *NOT* the main goal.”
“The majority of the Russian ad spend happened AFTER the election. We shared that fact, but very few outlets have covered it because it doesn’t align with the main media narrative of Tump and the election.”
Facebook has been under fire and defending itself ever since the election when it became the scapegoat for Hillary’s defeat. This shouldn’t have made too much news, but then Trump picked it up.
And the mob descended. And by mob, I mean the lefty media.

The Travelers: American Jihadists in Syria and Iraq, new from the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, charts 64 Americans who since 2011 traveled to Iraq and Syria to join terrorist groups. The 87-page study uses the term “American” for “U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, temporary and unlawful residents of the U.S., and other individuals with substantial ties to the U.S.”
Only 70 percent were actual U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents before their jihadist adventure. They came from 16 states, most from Minnesota, Virginia and Ohio, though two California jihadis are of particular interest. Alberto Renteria of Gilroy took the name Abu Hudhayfa al-Meksiki, “the Mexican.”
The average age of the jet-set jidahis is 27 but Brian Arthur Dempsey of Sacramento is 46. From 2001 until 2012, Dempsey served as counselor with the California Youth Authority, part of the state’s juvenile justice system. In July 2013, Dempsey bolted for the Syrian city of A’zaz, near Aleppo, where he joined up with Ahrar al-Sham fighters.

Bots. Is there anything they can’t do?
The Internet Research Agency indictment accuses a troll bot farm of trying to influence the election in what the media claims is the worst attack on America since Pearl Harbor. 9/11 need not apply.
Bots are everywhere.
“Bots Are Trying to Help Populists Win Italy’s Election,” claims Bloomberg. “Russian Bots Are Using 2016 Tactics to Hijack the Gun Debate,” shrieks Vanity Fair. ABC spins that bots are trying to make Black Panther look bad. “Rampaging Twitter ‘bots’ bred in Suffolk farmhouse,” the London Times asserts.
This media madness might make you think that bots are some sort of new and advanced technology. But you can see them in the comments and they’ve been around forever. Automated programs that log into social media accounts are not a new technology. Internet users of a bygone era remember seeing them in chat rooms and on bulletin boards without ever rampaging around Suffolk farmhouses.
Bots have become a convenient media scapegoat. The new formula is “Bots + Thing We Disagree With = Proof We’re Right”. That’s why there are stories claiming that Russian bots are tweeting against gun control or Islamic migration. And it explains the “Russian Bots Rigged the Election for Trump” meme.

This suburb of Damascus, eastern Ghouta, is an poor old Sunni neighborhood bursting with jihadis. Or it was.

French government unveils bill with new asylum procedure (abcnews, Feb 21, 2018)

“French President Emmanuel Macron’s government on Wednesday presented a bill to enforce tougher immigration rules, which human rights organizations criticize as repressive toward asylum-seekers.
The government says the bill, presented at a Cabinet meeting, aims at accelerating expulsion of people who don’t qualify for asylum. It also wants to provide better conditions for those allowed to stay in the country, such as offering more French classes and job training.
Interior minister Gerard Collomb said the plan is “balanced” and “is aligned with European procedures.”
The plan will reduce the consideration period for an application for asylum to a maximum of six months, down from about one year including appeal.
Human rights activists say the quicker process will make it more difficult for asylum-seekers to defend their rights.
The plan would also allow authorities to hold migrants who are staying illegally in the country in closed centers for up to 90 days instead of the current 45, in order to organize their deportation.
Under the bill, people illegally crossing borders of the EU travel-free zone will be fined 3,750 euros ($4,600)
Some organizations helping migrants, including the French Human Rights League, have called for street protests in Paris Wednesday to denounce “governmental policies that infringe on migrants’ freedoms.”
Some public agents in charge of asylum procedures were on strike Wednesday.
Cyrielle Taezin, an employee at the national court of asylum, said migrants won’t have enough time to prepare their request. “They have experienced trauma. They need psychological checks. They need time to express what they’ve gone through.”
Alain Esmery, an activist with the Human Rights League, noted that Macron called last month for humanity and firmness toward migrants. “The interior minister must be hard of hearing because he has heard ‘firmness, firmness,'” Esmery said.
Official figures show that more than 100,000 people applied for asylum in France in 2017, up 17 percent from the year before.
The largest number of asylum requests came from people from Albania, Afghanistan, Haiti and Sudan.
About 36 percent of applicants were granted refugee status.
The bill is to be debated in Parliament in April.”

The U.S. Africa Command statement says the airstrike occurred Monday near Jilib town in Middle Juba region. “We assess no civilians were killed in this strike.”
The U.S. has carried out a growing number of drone strikes in the Horn of Africa nation in coordination with Somalia’s government. Most are against al-Shabab but a small number have targeted Islamic State group-affiliated fighters in the Puntland region in the north.
The U.S. carried out more than 30 drone strikes last year in Somalia after President Donald Trump approved expanded military efforts against al-Shabab. The U.S. says it has carried out four such strikes so far this year.
The al-Shabab extremist group is blamed for the October truck bombing in the capital, Mogadishu, that killed 512 people.”

“A documentary about a Syrian refugee in Germany, who happily lives on state handouts with his two wives and six kids, has angered many in the country where polygamy is against the law.
The Spiegel TV film was aired over the weekend, telling the story of 32-year-old Ahmad A. who fled the fighting in Syria’s Aleppo back in 2015 with his large family, and found a safe haven in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.
The man lives in a two-story house provided by the community with two wives and six children. Despite polygamy being illegal in Germany, Ahmad was allowed to bring his second wife into the country as she is the mother of four of his kids.
The authorities weren’t even flustered by the fact that the Syrian married his second wife, Lina, when she was just 13 years old, below Germany’s age of consent. His first wife, Betool, was 14 at the time of the marriage.
Ahmad also has a third wife in Syria, but he told Spiegel journalists jokingly that the house needed to be bigger for her to come as well. As for the man’s plans for the future, he’s aiming for four wives and ten children.
Lina and Betool said that they were happy to share one husband and that it was “God’s will” for things to be that way. As a devout Muslim, Ahmad himself also sees no problem with having several wives as it’s in line with Sharia law, which he follows.
The wives reside in separate rooms on the second floor and the man said he makes sure there’s no dispute between them. The family’s bedroom is located on the first floor, with Ahmad specifying that he only sleeps with one wife at a time there.
Ahmad’s family live in social housing and the state provides them with an income.
“There’s support here. They give us social benefits, they give us this house,” Ahmad said, adding that Germany was his desired destination when he left his war-torn home country.
“I thank you very, very, very much, Mama Merkel. She is the only person who has felt the suffering of the Syrians. I also thank the Germans, even if there are racists among them. But the Germans have experienced war and show great compassion for the Syrians,” he said.
The family has been granted refugee status for three years, which allows Ahmad, who is illiterate and an unskilled worker, to start looking for a job. But the man says he prefers to stay at home with his children. He isn’t even aware of the amount of benefits he’s getting from the German state. “I do not know. The money is just transferred to me.
