  1. I have read of the possibility of Mueller being truly in-league with Trump but playing a sort of rope-a-dope to lull the Deep State actors into a false sense of security before pouncing. Does this plan also rely on Judicial Watch to do his work for him?

Also we have seen time and again Trump get crucified for something while his reaction is a quiet (or not-so-quiet) confidence because it turns out he knew something the rest of us did not. He therefore knows it isn’t necessary to go to battle when the information forthcoming will do a better job than anything he may say. This may be such an instance.

    • Mueller isn’t in league with Trump on the other hand he tends to screw up his investigations.

  2. There’s a great article in Legal Insurrection that I’m linking to which claims that the Mueller investigation is “Comey’s Revenge.” After reading it I totally agree and I do not think that this was some kind of genius move on Trump’s part Rather, there were some “forced errors” made due to the fact that the Swamp is about 98% filled with his enemies on both sides of the aisle. Trump is doing a magnificent job considering all the screw ups from even his own people. #MAGA2020

    • I agree Mueller is trying to help his friend Comey and is screwing up the attempted coup.

  3. Turkey says declaring Jerusalem Israel’s capital will start ‘fire with no end in sight’

ANKARA (Reuters) – The Turkish government’s spokesman on Wednesday said that the United States’ decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel will plunge the region and the world into “a fire with no end in sight”.

“Declaring Jerusalem a capital is disregarding history and the truths in the region, it is a big injustice/cruelty, shortsightedness, foolishness/madness, it is plunging the region and the world into a fire with no end in sight,” Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said on Twitter.

“I call on everyone to act logically, respect the agreements they signed and behave reasonably, avoid risking world peace for domestic politics or other reasons,” he said.

Earlier in the morning the Pope called for dialogue that respects the rights of everyone in the Holy Land and expressed his hope for “peace and prosperity” for the Palestinian people during a previously scheduled meeting with a Palestinian delegation of religious and intellectual leaders in the Vatican.

  4. Warnings intensify as Trump readies Jerusalem declaration

JERUSALEM (AP) — America’s friends and foes unleashed fierce criticism on Wednesday ahead of President Donald Trump’s announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

While Israel welcomed the news, Palestinian officials declared the Mideast peace process “finished” and Turkey announced it would host a meeting of Islamic nations next week to give Muslim countries’ leaders an opportunity to coordinate a response. The Arab League scheduled an emergency meeting on Saturday.

The harsh global reaction cast questions about the feasibility of a brewing U.S. peace plan that is expected to be presented by the White House in the near future.

  5. Erdogan calls Islamic summit next week on Jerusalem

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is calling a summit of the main pan-Islamic body in Istanbul on December 13 to discuss the expected US move to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, his spokesman said on Wednesday.

“In the face of developments that arouse sensitivity over the status of Jerusalem, Mr President is calling a leaders’ summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in order to display joint action among Islamic countries,” presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin told reporters in Ankara.

He said the summit meeting would take place on December 13. There was no immediate confirmation from Muslim leaders if they would come.

Turkey currently holds the chairmanship of the OIC.

  6. Trump to declare Jerusalem capital of Israel: White House officials

In a momentous shift of United States foreign policy in the Middle East, President Donald Trump is set to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on Wednesday and initiate the process of relocating the U.S. embassy to the city from Tel Aviv, according to senior administration officials.

The president is expected to officially announce the policy changes in remarks at the White House at 1pm on Wednesday.

A U.S. official and a source close to the White House told ABC News that official recognition of Jerusalem as the capital is expected to be intentionally broad and not meant to preclude the possibility that the Palestinians could claim part of the historic city as a capital of a future Palestinian state. The president does not want to “prejudice” the outcome of any future peace negotiations for a two-state solution, one source familiar with the plan told ABC News.

Chronic cannabis users are at risk of experiencing a horrifying new condition that is being reported at hospitals across the country.

‘Scromiting,’ doctors say, is becoming an all-too-familiar site at emergency rooms, with patients ‘screaming and vomiting’ as they turn up for help.

The condition, called Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS), is not properly understood but medical experts believe the symptoms appear from individuals using or consuming heavy amounts of marijuana over a long period of time.

Dr Aimee Moulin, an emergency room physician at UC-Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, said she has seen a rise in cases since California legalized recreational marijuana last November.

She expects to see a further rise after commercial sales are permitted starting in January.

  8. NBC staffers ‘afraid to get nuked’ at the Winter Olympics

NBC staffers are gun-shy about volunteering to work at the upcoming 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games, sources tell Page Six, because of tension in the region.

An insider told us that usually NBC staffers are enthusiastic about being sent to the games for work. But with the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang — a remote South Korean city 40 miles south of the demilitarized zone that’s changed the capitalization of its name for the games, so as not to be confused with neighboring Pyongyang, North Korea — some workers are choosing to stay home.

“They usually all want to sign up for the Olympics, but they’re afraid to get nuked,” said a source. But another insider told us, “If NBC News employees have concerns about attending, they are not required to go, as was the policy with [the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016] and Zika fears.”

Perhaps as a cautionary tale, one Olympic delegate headed to a meeting in Pyeongchang this year reportedly mistakenly flew to North Korea. Then again, despite the political turmoil on the Korean peninsula, the absence of Matt Lauer should be a draw.

  9. Russia Banned From Winter Olympics by I.O.C.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — Russia’s Olympic team has been barred from the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The country’s government officials are forbidden to attend, its flag will not be displayed at the opening ceremony and its anthem will not sound.

Any athletes from Russia who receive special dispensation to compete will do so as individuals wearing a neutral uniform, and the official record books will forever show that Russia won zero medals.

That was the punishment issued Tuesday to the proud sports juggernaut that has long used the Olympics as a show of global force but was exposed for systematic doping in previously unfathomable ways. The International Olympic Committee, after completing its own prolonged investigations that reiterated what had been known for more than a year, handed Russia penalties for doping so severe they were without precedent in Olympics history.

  10. Chinese Newspaper Near North Korea Offers Advice on Surviving Nukes

An official Chinese newspaper near North Korea has published a page of articles on coping with nuclear attacks, in a sign of growing anxiety over Kim Jong Un’s weapons program.

The Jilin Daily — the government newspaper of Jilin province on North Korea’s northeastern border — published articles on page 5 explaining how nuclear weapons work and the damage they cause. The paper used cartoons to offer advice on what residents can do about radiation exposure and provided instructions on how to respond during an attack.

One article listed essential items for emergency kits, including fire extinguishers and breathing masks. Another warned that air raids could mean nuclear, chemical and biological attacks, and used the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima as an example.

  11. Another Democrat revealed as having used congressional sex harassment ‘slush fund’
By LU Staff December 5, 2017

The Office of House Employment Counsel brokered a settlement in 2006 over allegations that Rep. Gregory Meeks ?
    5%
fired a staffer in retaliation for reporting that she was sexually assaulted at a business tied to a campaign contributor, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Andrea Payne, then a congressional aide in the New York Democrat’s Queens office, filed a complaint with the Office of Compliance, and Meeks fired her weeks later. He admitted that Payne’s termination did not have to do with the quality of her work, according to her lawsuit.

“This is an action to recover for damages sustained by plaintiff when Representative Meeks violated her Constitutional rights by retaliating against her, and ultimately terminating her employment, because of her sexual assault lawsuit,” Payne’s attorneys wrote.

The U.S. Congress Office of Compliance uses taxpayer money to pay out financial settlements to resolve allegations of sexual abuse, discrimination, and other workplace violations by members. It also binds the victims with tight secrecy clauses, which has triggered bipartisan outcry from feminists to conservatives.

Payne’s retaliation lawsuit dealt with how the Office of Compliance was set up to offer limited protections to Capitol Hill staffers. Meeks argued that the existence of the Office of Compliance meant that he should not be financially liable in the suit, according to legal documents.

  12. ‘We know where you live’: Voters who oppose Roy Moore threaten intimidation
By Joe Newby December 5, 2017

The latest bad news for Democrats is that Judge Roy Moore has opened up a lead in the race for the Senate seat from Alabama vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. As a result, the anti-Moore forces appear to be getting desperate.

No longer confident that Moore would be dumped from Congress if he did win, due to recent revelations about sexual misconduct by other senators, members of a shadowy super PAC set up to help Democrat Doug Jones have released advertisements that appear to engage in voter intimidation, telling voters that their vote is public record while claiming their community will know if they “helped stop Roy Moore.”

  14. Iran: Khamenei warns of ‘heavy blow’ against Israel over capital declaration

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned from Tehran on Wednesday that “Zionists” would be dealt a heavy blow if Jerusalem is recognised as the capital of Israel.

  15. zero hedge – Retired CIA Agent Working With Blackwater Founder Claims H.R. McMaster Approved NSA Spy Job On Trump Family

A retired CIA officer reportedly working with Blackwater founder Erik Prince to pitch the White House on a global, private spy network which as we reported yesterday would allow the White House to circumvent and counter “deep state enemies” within U.S. intelligence agencies, is said to have made the stunning claim that National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster worked with the NSA to perform surveillance on Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, Steve Bannon and others, according to a report in The Intercept.

The former CIA agent, John R. Maguire – a Trump transition team member who works for intelligence contractor Amyntor Group, spent over two decades as a paramilitary officer – including tours in Central America working with the Contras. After retiring, Maguire hooked up with Blackwater founder Erik Prince in what has been a long and fruitful professional relationship.

While Maguire and Prince deny they are working together on the White House’s “private spy network,” current and former U.S. officials as well as Trump donors say otherwise, as The Intercept reports:

The former senior intelligence official with direct knowledge of the efforts scoffed at Prince’s denials. “Erik’s proposal had no company names on the slides,” this person said, “but there is no doubt that Prince and Maguire were working together.”

Prince is reported to have told a top Trump fundraiser that he and Maguire are working together, and the two had been going around to Trump fundraisers to generate support for private military contracting efforts in Afghanistan until a CIA contract materialized for the project.

During these conversations, Maguire told donors that Obama administration holdovers were withholding information from President Trump, and H.R. McMaster – a protégé of former CIA director David Petraeus – authorized a spying operation on members of the Trump family as well as Steve Bannon, and then sent the gathered intel to an international facility owned by George Soros. Via The Intercept:

“[Maguire] said there were people inside the CIA who joined in the previous eight years [under Obama] and inside the government, and they were failing to give the president the intelligence he needed,” said a person who was pitched by Maguire and other Amyntor personnel. To support his claim, Maguire told at least two people that National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, in coordination with a top official at the National Security Agency, authorized surveillance of Steven Bannon and Trump family members, including Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. Adding to these unsubstantiated claims, Maguire told the potential donors he also had evidence McMaster used a burner phone to send information gathered through the surveillance to a facility in Cyprus owned by George Soros.
A potential Donor Maguire spoke with said “John [Maguire] was certain that the deep state was going to kick the president out of office within a year,” adding “These guys said they were protecting the president.”

Given the frequent and ongoing “deep-state” leaks to the MSM designed to undermine Trump, reports of Obama holdovers keeping dozens of national security positions – some say thanks to H.R. McMaster, and advisory team whittled down to Stephen Miller, Jared and Ivanka, it’s no secret that at least some, if not all of what is known as the “deep state” has been after Trump since he became a serious threat to Hillary Clinton during the election.

  16. Obstruction of Justice was Coming from Inside the FBI
When lying to the FBI wasn’t a crime.
    December 6, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield

“There’s always conflicting recollections of facts,” FBI Director Comey said.

It was a year ago and Comey was explaining why Hillary’s close aide, Cheryl Mills, not only received an immunity agreement in exchange for turning over her laptop, but a pass on lying to the FBI.

The FBI Director claimed that Mills had to receive immunity because the laptop might be protected by attorney-client privilege. Mills, like Hillary Clinton, had worked as a lawyer. But they were both government officials working for the State Department. Hillary wasn’t Mills’ client. The government was.

Comey and his people knew the law. They chose to ignore it to protect a key Hillary aide from rolling over. Mills was the woman Hillary would send in to clean up her dirty laundry. Mills had taken point on the email server cover-up. If anyone knew where the bodies were buried, she did. Instead not only did she get an immunity agreement, but the FBI also agreed to destroy the computers after the search.

Mills had told the FBI that she didn’t know about Hillary’s email server. But the FBI had notes and emails proving that Mills was lying. And when Comey was asked about it, he came out with, “There’s always conflicting recollections of facts.”

    Daniel Greenfield

Anyone who saw Pelosi’s “icon” defense of Rep. Conyers won’t be surprised.

Nancy wasn’t remotely on board with the #MeToo movement heading into Congress. And behind the scenes, there was no doubt a Hillaryesque, “Boys will be boys” approach to the whole thing. In public, Pelosi had to be angry about sexual harassment. As long as it involved Republicans. But when it involved a “civil rights icon” or a former illegal alien turned Congressional rising star… she kept quiet.

  18. The Case for Islamophobia
I am an Islamophobe, and you should be one, too.
    December 6, 2017
    Robert Spencer

For years I have denied the label “Islamophobe,” because it is most commonly used to refer to people who have an irrational bigotry or hatred toward Muslims, and I don’t. I am not the “bad” kind of Islamophobe who wants any innocent people, Muslim or non-Muslim, to be victimized. Instead I am what I would call the “good” kind of Islamophobe, someone who is honest enough to call a problem a problem, even when the whole world wishes to ignore and deny its existence.

The problem with most analyses of Islamophobia is that they tend to condemn under the same rubric of bias and bigotry any analysis of how jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and make recruits among peaceful Muslims. Just this week, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded to a question from opposition leader Andrew Scheer about the security threat posed by returning ISIS jihadis, not by addressing that threat, but by accusing Scheer of “Islamophobia” for raising it.

If that’s Islamophobia, everyone should be an Islamophobe.

Describing one of the messages Rashid was charged for sending, prosecutor Rebecca Mundy said: “There was a photo of the young Prince George at the beginning of the school term next to a silhouette of an Isis fighter.”

  20. Goolag Archipelago: Google Sends Powerful Migrant Crisis Video by POLISH GOVERNMENT to ‘YouTube Jail’ (breitbart, Dec 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/06/poland-government-migrant-youtube-jail/

“YouTube has ‘quarantined’ a hard-hitting video on Europe’s migrant crisis released by Poland’s conservative government, as part the platform’s crackdown on “hate speech and violent extremism”.

The Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration’s video has been placed in a controversial state designed by YouTube to limit access to videos it says contain “supremacist” or “extremist” content, but which don’t break any of the platform’s rules.

Opening with dramatic scenes of migrants swarming into Europe, the video highlights EU leaders’ insistence that the newcomers be spread throughout the continent, and forced even on unwilling nations through compulsory quotas.

But YouTube has now placed the powerful video in “limited state” — a condition designed to severely reduce the potential audience for “borderline” content. Videos placed under this system are unsearchable, impossible to embed on other sites, and removed from users’ recommended videos lists.

The only way to reach ‘quarantined’ content is by clicking a direct link to the video in question, at which point viewers are warned that the “content is inappropriate or offensive”, asking them to click a button before they are allowed to proceed.

YouTube has also shut down comments on videos which have been placed in this “limited state”, and removed view counts and up-votes and down-votes, making it impossible to see the reach of the video, or know how it has been received.

Google unveiled the policy in August among a raft of new measures which the video-sharing website said it will use to counter “extremism”. It announced a partnership with 15 “expert NGOs and institutions” — including the Council of Europe’s left-wing No Hate Speech Movement and George Soros-linked groups — who will direct them in identifying objectionable content.

Explaining the system, YouTube said it bans content which “promotes violence or has the primary purpose of inciting hatred against individuals or groups based on certain attributes”, as well as “content intended to recruit for terrorist organizations, incite violence, celebrate terrorist attacks, or otherwise promote acts of terrorism.”

According to YouTube’s blog post, the Polish government’s video must have been judged a “borderline” case, which describes content which “[contains] inflammatory religious or supremacist content without a direct call to violence or a primary purpose of inciting hatred.””

  21. Refugee Sex Attacker Compensated £110k for Staying in Prison ‘Too Long’ (breitbart, Dec 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/06/refugee-sex-attacker-awarded-110000-compensation-waiting-prison-long/

“An African refugee who was jailed twice for sex offences was awarded £110,000 in compensation for having to stay in prison for “too long”.

Guinean native Aliou Bah, 26, was imprisoned twice for serious sexual assault — once against a 16-year-old girl — but was awarded the compensation for being detained for 21 months longer than his original prison sentences whilst the Home Office fought for his deportation, reports The Sun.

The West African joined his refugee father in the UK in 2007. In 2011, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, was jailed for 18 months, and put on the sex offenders’ register.

He then went on to commit another sex attack against a woman and was jailed for two years in 2014.

Following both periods of imprisonment, Bah was detained for a total of 21 months “pending deportation”.

However, the judge presiding over the case, Judge Nicholas Madge, ruled the periods of detention after his sentences had expired were unlawful. Given the West African’s refugee status and as the Guinea Embassy refused to issue travel documents, there was no prospect of him being deported, Central London County Court heard.

The newspaper reports that then-Home Secretary Theresa May had signed the deportation order in December 2011, unaware that he was entitled to be treated as a refugee.

Judge Madge ruled Bah had a right to receive justice and was due compensation because of the Home Office’s incompetence.

A Home Office spokesman said: “People who have no right to live in this country should be in no doubt of our determination to remove them. We have removed more than 41,000 Foreign National Offenders since 2010…”

  22. Italian Bishop Decries Use of Migrant Dinghy in Nativity Scene (breitbart,Dec 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/06/italian-bishop-decries-use-of-migrant-dinghy-in-nativity-scene/

“A bishop in the north of Italy has sharply criticized the placement of the Virgin Mary and the Baby Jesus in a migrant dinghy rather than a traditional manger in the town Nativity scene.

The mayor of the Italian town of Castenaso, Stefano Sermenghi, decided to place a small rubber boat at the center of the manger scene in order to draw attention to the plight of migrants crossing the Mediterranean Sea into Europe.

In the crèche scene adorning the town square, the wooden figure of the Virgin Mary has been placed on board the rubber raft with the infant Jesus in her arms.

“We have been setting up a Nativity scene for the last fifteen years,” the mayor said, “and this time we wanted to underscore the problem related to the acceptance of migrants.”

An emeritus bishop of nearby Bologna, Ernesto Vecchi, criticized the move and told the Italian daily Il Resto del Carlino that the addition of the migrant dinghy to the Nativity scene was “out of place.”

“The central core of a nativity scene calls for a child in swaddling clothes lying in a manger, and this must be respected,” the bishop said.

“The most important part of the crib cannot be represented by a boat.”

The bishop added that it was conceivable to have a rubber raft present somewhere in the scene, but not at the very center in place of the traditional manger, as related by the biblical passage describing the Nativity…”

  23. Outcry in French Village After Hotel ‘Bought in Secret’ to Be Turned into Migrant Centre (breitbart, Dec 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/06/outcry-french-village-migrant-centre/

“Residents of Villars-les-Dombes have reacted with anger to news that migrants will be settled in the picturesque French village thanks to the ‘secretive’ purchase of a hotel by a migration NGO.

The Association for the Protection of Children and Adults (ADSEA) bought the only hotel for sale in the whole commune, Mayor Pierre Larrieu told reporters, stressing that the purchase was made “in unacceptable conditions — behind our backs”.

It was only in mid-November that the mayor received a phone call informing him that the Ribotel in Villars-les-Dombes — situated just 100 metres from a major tourist attraction — was to be transformed into a reception and orientation centre (CAD) for migrants, 90 of whom would be arriving on December 4.

On Thursday, a public meeting to discuss the shock development was attended by around 400 of the commune’s 4,500 residents who responded to the news with “fear” and “hostility”, according to French media, which reported that “even local officials” were unhappy about the situation — and the lack of transparency in how it came about.

Residents at the meeting voiced concerns over how the centre would impact crime and personal safety in the French village, with a number of people warning it would spell disaster for tourism due to its proximity to the Bird Park which — housing nearly 3,000 species of birds — is said to be the “largest and most important ornithological park in Europe”.

In Britain, NGOs are now implanting refugees in tiny towns and rural locations thanks to the “community sponsorship” scheme launched by the government in July last year.

With a population of just 2,000 — one-third of whom are Welsh-speaking — Narberth is one of the towns in which refugees have been placed under the scheme, along with other small towns including Fishguard, Llandrindod Wells, and Cardigan.

Like in France, an NGO working to resettle refugees throughout Malvern — a civil parish in England, the centre of which is a historic conservation area which lies at the foot of designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Malvern Hills — revealed that private landlords are essential in the fight to establish migrant communities in rural Britain.

“Houses in Malvern have been offered to us, by private landlords, not by local authorities, and that is an important step forward,” said Sue Wolfendale, from Malvern Welcomes, who claimed that the group’s ability to secure premises for migrants shows the endeavour has “backing” from the local community.”

  24. Swedish Chief Prosecutor: No-Go Zone Rinkeby Is Like a ‘War Zone’ (breitbart, Dec 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/06/swedish-deputy-no-go-zone-war-zones/

“Swedish Chief Prosecutor Lise Tamm has claimed that the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby is like “a war zone”.

Ms. Tamm, who will become acting head of the anti-organised crime unit in the New Year, said that she would be looking to war-torn countries like Colombia and El Salvador to find new methods of handling the rampant violence in Sweden’s no-go zones, Sveriges Radio reports.

“Rinkeby is almost like a war zone. When the police work there, they work as the armed forces would have done,” Tamm said.

Tamm then compared the no-go zone to Central American countries which have had to deal with huge waves of criminal gang-related violence in the recent past:

“And then I thought: How did they do it in Colombia when they deported FARC guerrillas, how did they do it in El Salvador when the war ended? How have they done in other parts of the world where you have had such great problems for many, many years? Is there any solution? You have to think outside the box,” she said.

Tamm stressed the increasing the presence of police in the area was not enough and that she would also work to increase the number of social workers and government services to the area as well.

Local Rinkeby police officer Niclas Andersson expressed opposition to labelling the area a “war zone” but admitted the suburb has some serious problems. “We have shooting and gang crime, but comparing it with a war zone, no I do not share that perception,” he insisted.

The comments come after members of the Moderate Party proposed sending the armed forces into areas like Rinkeby to allow police to do their jobs without the fear of being attacked.

Rinkeby, along with nearby areas like Husby and Tensta, is known as some of the worst no-go zones in Sweden, along with certain areas of the city of Malmö…”

  25. Germany drops Turkish espionage probe of clerics (abcnews, Dec 6, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/germany-drops-turkish-espionage-probe-clerics-51609951

“German prosecutors say they’ve dropped an espionage investigation against seven people, largely Islamic clerics, who were suspected of spying on opponents of the Turkish government.

The federal prosecutors’ office said Wednesday it had found insufficient evidence to pursue a case against the seven. Judges previously refused to issue arrest warrants against the suspects, who prosecutors said have since left Germany. Their current whereabouts are unclear.

The case largely involved clerics affiliated with the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs, or DITIB, whom German officials suspected of collecting for the Turkish government’s office for religious affairs information on alleged supporters of U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen. He is accused by the Turkish government of orchestrating a coup attempt last year.

A second investigation into suspected Turkish spying on alleged Gulen supporters continues.”

  26. Fact Check: Yes, George Soros is Going to Hell

    Daniel Greenfield

There’s outrage in the leftsphere over a suggestion by Roy Moore that suggests George Soros, the anti-Semitic Nazi collaborating billionaire might be going to hell.

Whatever you may think of Moore, it’s hard to argue that Soros isn’t going to hell.

Assuming that there is a hell, which traditional denominations of Christianity and Judaism believe is the case, then Soros would seem to qualify.

The argument for Soros going to hell is straightforward.

  27. A CREDIBLE PEACE PLAN, AT LAST
But will the Palestinians agree to it?
    December 6, 2017
    Caroline Glick

Monday, The New York Times published the Palestinian response to an alleged Saudi peace plan. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly presented it to PLO chief and Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas last month.

According to the Times’ report, Mohammed told Abbas he has two months to either accept the Saudi proposal or leave office to make way for a new Palestinian leader who will accept it.

The Palestinians and their European supporters are up in arms about the content of Mohammed’s plan. It reportedly proposes the establishment of limited Palestinian sovereignty over small portions of Judea and Samaria. The Gaza Strip, over which the Palestinians have had full sovereignty since Israel pulled its military forces and civilians out in 2005, would be expanded into the northern Sinai, thus providing economic and territorial viability to the envisioned Palestinian state. While the Palestinians would not receive sovereignty over Jerusalem, they would be able to establish their capital in the Jerusalem suburb of Abu Dis.

There are several aspects of the alleged Saudi peace plan that are notable. First, the Palestinians and their many allies insist that it is a nonstarter. No Palestinian leader could ever accept the offer and survive in power, they told the Times. The same Palestinian leaders from Hamas and Fatah, and their allies, also noted that the Saudi plan as reported strongly resembles past Israeli proposals.

  28. Group-Think in Academia
    Leftist ideology only.

    Jack Kerwick

According to The College Fix, a campus watchdog organization run by students, the political donations of Duke University employees are ten times higher in the year since Donald Trump was elected to the presidency than they were in the year following the reelection of Barack Obama.

The Center for Responsive Politics found that Duke faculty and staff members made 870 individual contributions within the last year. This number is in stark contrast with the 88 individual contributions that they made over the span of 2013.

What’s telling, but unsurprising, is that of the 870 political contributions made by Duke University employees, all but six were made to leftist, Democratic Party causes and candidates.

Sadly, the ideological and political homogeneity that prevails at Duke is all too representative of that which imbues the contemporary academic world:

In the social sciences, Democrats outnumber Republicans nearly twelve to one. This is the finding of research into five fields—economics, journalism, history, psychology, and law—at 40 “leading” universities.

  29. Pyongyang on the Prairie, Part I

A criminal justice system that operates in the dark is arbitrary, unjust and criminal.

In Oklahoma this year, a Kafkaesque set of sealed motions, secret orders and closed-door hearings completely shut out a criminal defendant, his public defenders and the public. A trial judge served as handmaiden for the prosecutors, even failing to notify the defendant and his lawyers of the kangaroo court proceedings until after they had occurred.

The defendant, who is appealing his convictions and maintains his complete and actual innocence, was denied an opportunity to challenge the state’s legal arguments for hiding information about a crime lab analyst’s shoddy work on his case that could be exculpatory and key to his exoneration. His public defenders were also denied the opportunity to cross-examine witnesses — all government employees from Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Welcome to Pyongyang on the Prairie.

  30. A Two State Solution for Europe?

    by Judith Bergman
    December 6, 2017 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11493/europe-two-state-solution

A French intellectual, Christian Moliner, recently suggested that France should establish a Muslim state-within-a-state that adheres to sharia law, inside the borders of France, to avoid a civil war. Warning against refusing to deal with the problems of Islamism in Europe because of political correctness, he stated:

“Out of the fear of appearing Islamophobic, to satisfy this bustling fringe of Muslims, governments are ready to accept the spread of radical practices throughout the country…. [some] territories are outside the control of the Republic. The police can come only in force and for limited durations… We can never convert the 30% of Muslims who demand the introduction of sharia law to the merits of our democracy and secularism. We are now allowing segregation to take place that does not say its name.”

    Moliner’s solution?

“… Establish a dual system of law in France… one territory, one government, but two peoples: the French with the usual laws and Muslims with Qur’anic status (but only for those who choose it)… The latter will have the right to vote… but they will apply Sharia in everyday life, to regulate matrimonial laws (which will legalize polygamy) and inheritance… They will no longer apply to French judges for disputes between Muslims… conflicts between Christians and believers will remain the responsibility of ordinary courts…”

In the text above replace the words “in the Arab world” with “Turkey,” and delete the word “Iran” in the preceding line, and one will get a short paragraph “Explaining Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: A Psychological Profile.” A number of high-profile investigations developing on American soil are threatening Erdogan’s legitimacy while Turkey’s strongman resorts to the tactic he knows best: spin global conspiracy theories to influence voter behavior in a country where the average schooling is a mere 6.5 years.

The name of Reza Zarrab, a young and wealthy Turkish-Iranian gold trader, fell into the Turkish public domain at the end of 2013 when the Turks woke up to news that, in early morning raids, squads of public prosecutors and police had detained the sons of cabinet secretaries, a mayor, a state bank manager and prominent businessmen — all with publicly known close ties to Erdogan, then prime minister. The mounds of evidence included telephone conversations, video material, and more — all unmasking the trafficking of huge amounts of illegal money and expensive gifts to them among the suspects, including from Zarrab himself.

  32. Is Saudi Arabia Key to America’s Mideast Strategy?

In early November, Houthi rebels in Yemen, backed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, launched a missile strike targeting the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Although the missile, like more than 100 others launched at Saudi Arabia from Yemen over the past two years, was intercepted, and no casualties were incurred, the incident served as yet another reminder of Tehran’s aggression and hegemonic ambitions in the Middle East, through proxy terrorist organizations. The Houthis are but one example; al Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah are others.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, U.S. President Donald Trump telephoned Saudi King Salman to repeat the importance of fighting terrorism in the region and the world — the stated purpose of the joint American-Saudi Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology, which the two leaders inaugurated in Riyadh in May, at a gathering of representatives from 50 Islamic nations.

Since that summit in the spring — the first leg of Trump’s first official trip abroad as president – King Salman’s son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has been pushing economic and social reforms, announcing a crackdown on corruption and an increase in women’s rights, including allowing them to drive.

At the Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh at the end of October, Crown Prince Mohammed vowed to “return to a more moderate Islam,” saying:

By Clarion Project Wednesday, December 6, 2017

U.S. lawmakers were among speakers and guests at a Capitol Hill event aimed at putting the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood back in the spotlight.

The London Center for Policy Research is one of several organizations pushing for Congress to declare the Muslim brotherhood a foreign terrorist entity. Such a a designation would have serious knock-on effects for American organizations with links to the Brotherhood – among them the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

By Meira Svirsky Wednesday, December 6, 2017

The similarity in philosophy between the Muslim Brotherhood and violent Islamists such as ISIS and al-Qaeda is quite pronounced, according to a new study carried out in the UK.

“The evidence now shows that there is considerable ideological overlap in how Islamic scripture is used by [political] Islamists, like the Muslim Brotherhood, and violent jihadists, such as ISIS and Al Qaeda,” said Dr Emman El-Badawy, head of research at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.

The institute’s new study, “Struggle Over Scripture: Charting the Rift Between Islamist Extremism and Mainstream Islam,” was based on an examination of more than 3,000 documents culled from extremist and mainstream sources.

  35. U.N. Security Council likely to meet Friday on Jerusalem: diplomats

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – The United Nations Security Council is likely to meet on Friday at the request of eight states on the 15-member body over U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, diplomats said on Wednesday.

The request for U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to publicly brief the Security Council meeting was made by France, Bolivia, Egypt, Italy, Senegal, Sweden, Britain and Uruguay, said diplomats.

Trump strong>abruptly reversed decades of U.S. policy on Wednesday, generating outrage from Palestinians and defying warnings of Middle East unrest. Trump also plans to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.

Israel considers the city its eternal and indivisible capital and wants all embassies based there. Palestinians want the capital of an independent Palestinian state to be in the city’s eastern sector, which Israel captured in a 1967 war and annexed in a move never recognized internationally.

A U.N. Security Council resolution adopted in December last year “underlines that it will not recognize any changes to the 4 June 1967 lines, including with regard to Jerusalem, other than those agreed by the parties through negotiations.”

That resolution was approved with 14 votes in favor and an abstention by former U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration, which defied heavy pressure from long-time ally Israel and Trump for Washington to wield its veto.

After Trump spoke on Wednesday, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told reporters: “I have consistently spoken out against any unilateral measures that would jeopardize the prospect of peace for Israelis and Palestinians.”

“In this moment of great anxiety, I want to make it clear: There is no alternative to the two-state solution. There is no Plan B,” he said. “I will do everything in my power to support the Israeli and Palestinian leaders to return to meaningful negotiations.”

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley praised Trump’s decision as “the just and right thing to do.”

  36. Egypt’s Al-Azhar rejects Trump’s Jerusalem decision

The Grand Imam of Egypt’s Al-Azhar Ahmed El-Tayeb announced on Wednesday that Al-Azhar rejects US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

“The US president’s decision denies the rights of Palestinians and Arabs to their holy city; it ignores the feelings of one-and-a-half-billion Muslims as well as millions of Arab Christians who have a connection to Jerusalem’s churches and monasteries,” El-Tayeb said in a statement issued following Trump’s announcement on Wednesday.

El-Tayeb also called for an urgent meeting of Al-Azhar’s Council of Senior Scholars as well as the international Muslim Council of Elders to discuss the implications of Trump’s decision.

He also called for an urgent international meeting of Muslim and Christian clerics to discuss the issue.

East Jerusalem, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967, hosts Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is considered the third holiest site for Muslims.

Al-Azhar is considered the world’s highest institution of Sunni Islamic learning.

Britain suffered four deadly attacks in London and Manchester between March and June this year that killed 36 people, and on Wednesday a man appeared in court accused of plotting to kill British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Speaking to diplomats and experts at the Foreign Office in London, Johnson will call for better engagement with Muslim populations worldwide and argue that blaming Western intervention for the rise of Islamist extremism plays into the jihadi narrative, according to a briefing note issued by the Foreign Office…”

  38. EU urges internet companies to do more to remove extremist content (reuters, Dec 6, 2017)
    https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-eu-internet-forum/eu-urges-internet-companies-to-do-more-to-remove-extremist-content-idUKKBN1E02QN

“(Reuters) – Internet groups such as Facebook (FB.O), Google’s YouTube (GOOGL.O) and Twitter (TWTR.N) need to do more to stem the proliferation of extremist content on their platforms, the European Commission said after a meeting on Wednesday.

Social media companies have significantly boosted their resources to take down violent and extremist content as soon as possible in response to growing political pressure from European governments, particularly those hit by militant attacks in recent years.

But Julian King, EU security commissioner, said that while a lot of progress had been made, additional efforts were needed.

“We are not there yet. We are two years down the road of this journey: to reach our final destination we now need to speed up our work,” King said in his closing speech at the third meeting of the EU Internet Forum, which brings together the Commission, EU member states, law enforcement and technology companies.

The EU has said it will come forward with legislation next year if it is not satisfied with progress made by tech companies in removing extremist content, while a German online hate speech law comes into effect on Jan. 1.

The Commission is keen to avoid a patchwork of national laws on the issue, and favours a self-regulatory approach.

Over the summer, Microsoft (MSFT.O), Facebook, Twitter and YouTube formed a global working group to combine their efforts in removing extremist content from their platforms, and last year formed a database of known “terrorist” images and videos which now contains more than 40,000 hashes, or digital signatures.

On Wednesday, the members of the Internet Forum presented a report with updates on progress made by companies and Europol in detecting and removing extremist content online.

The report, reviewed by Reuters, encourages the companies to remove “new and historical terrorist content, and to develop solutions to identify and remove terrorist content within 1-2 hours of upload, to the extent it is technically feasible, without compromising human rights and fundamental freedoms.”

The Commission wants companies to use automatic detection technologies more and act faster on referrals from member states and Europol.

“It is feasible to reduce the time it takes to remove content to a few hours,” said Dimitris Avramopoulos, EU home affairs commissioner.

“There is a lot of room for improvement, for this cooperation to produce even better results, starting with the reporting from the companies, which must become more regular and more transparent.”

Facebook last week reported progress in removing extremist content from its platform, saying it was removing 99 percent of content related to militant groups Islamic State and al Qaeda before being told of it, although it did not say how many items it was removing.

The Counter Extremism Project (CEP), a non-profit organisation, said efforts by the companies were encouraging but did not make a strong case for continued self-regulation.

“Instead, what the EU Internet Forum should aim to deliver are concrete, industry-wide policies on blocking or rapidly removing illegal content and consistent enforcement of those policies,” said David Ibsen, Executive Director of the CEP.”

  39. ‘Over 10,000 texts’ between ex-Mueller team officials found, after discovery of anti-Trump messages

Justice Department officials are reading through “over 10,000 texts” between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, Fox News has learned, after it emerged Strzok was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe following the discovery of anti-Trump messages between them.

Department of Justice officials told Fox News they are in the process of going through the texts so they can hand them over to the House Intelligence Committee.

Strzok, who was an FBI counterintelligence agent, had worked on the Mueller probe, but was reassigned to the FBI’s human resources department after the discovery of anti-Trump text messages with Page, with whom he was having an affair. Page was briefly on Mueller’s team, but since has returned to the FBI.

The disclosure of those messages revived Republican concerns about the objectivity of Mueller’s probe.

It’s unclear whether a significant number of the 10,000 texts have anything to do with Trump or the probe itself.

Justice Department officials say the process of reading and redacting the texts could take “weeks,” and that the thousands of text messages between Strzok and Page span over “several months.”

The review process comes as the committee also threatens to move forward with a contempt resolution against top DOJ and FBI officials barring an imminent breakthrough — after the agencies did not comply with a deadline to hand over long-sought information that goes well beyond text messages.

Strzok is a focus of their efforts. House investigators have long regarded him as a key figure in the chain of events when the bureau, in 2016, received the infamous anti-Trump “dossier” and launched a counterintelligence investigation into Russian meddling in the election that ultimately came to encompass FISA surveillance of a Trump campaign associate.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has sought documents and witnesses from the DOJ and FBI to determine what role, if any, the dossier played in the move to direct the surveillance.

Strzok briefed the committee on Dec. 5, 2016, sources said. But within months of that session House Intelligence Committee investigators were contacted by an informant suggesting that there was “documentary evidence” that Strzok was purportedly obstructing the House probe into the dossier.

Early Saturday afternoon, after Strzok’s texts were cited in published reports by the New York Times and the Washington Post – and Fox News had followed up with inquiries about the department’s refusal to make Strzok available to House investigators – the Justice Department contacted the office of House Speaker Paul Ryan to establish a date for Strzok’s appearance before House Intelligence Committee staff, along with two other witnesses long sought by the Nunes team.

The Justice Department maintains that it has been very responsive to the House panel’s demands, including private briefings for panel staff by senior DOJ and FBI personnel and the production of several hundred pages of classified materials available in a secure reading room at DOJ headquarters on Oct. 31.

But Nunes voiced skepticism on Saturday.

He said that after the Strzok texts were revealed, the DOJ expressed a “sudden willingness to comply with some of the Committee’s long-standing demands” but added: “This attempted 11th-hour accommodation is neither credible nor believable, and in fact is yet another example of the DOJ’s disingenuousness and obstruction.”

A DOJ spokeswoman said Sunday they will “continue to work with congressional committees to provide the information they request consistent with our national security responsibilities.”

Fox News has learned that Strzok also oversaw the bureau’s interviews with ousted National Security Advisor Michael Flynn – who pleaded guilty Friday to lying to FBI investigators in the Russia probe.

He also was present during the FBI’s July 2016 interview with Hillary Clinton at the close of the email investigation, shortly before then-FBI director James Comey called her actions “extremely careless” without recommending criminal charges.
