  1. Officials arrested more than 40 people sought in connection with sex crimes during a monthlong operation in Arizona, the U.S. Marshals Service said Tuesday.

    A new Islamic inspired children’s playground in Berlin received a largely positive response from locals on Wednesday.

    The playground in the Neukolln district, which is still under construction, follows a bazaar theme with the roof of the playhouse shaped like the dome of Mosque complete with a crescent moon and four minarets.

    The feedback has been broadly positive with many hoping that it would make Muslim children and families feel more integrated, but some believe that tax payer’s money should not be used to fund religion related projects.

    Russia has invited Kurdish authorities to the Congress of the Peoples of Syria, a meeting of the country’s various ethnic groups that is scheduled to be held in Sochi.

    Such a congress would focus on seeking “compromise solutions towards the political settlement” of Syria’s conflict, a Russian negotiator on Syria said earlier this week.

    “We are studying the issue and our stance has been positive so far,” said Badran Jia Kurd, an adviser to the administration that governs Kurdish-led autonomous regions of northern Syria.

    Jennifer Schwartz Berky, a New York county legislator, was filmed by police cameras as she freaked out over getting a speeding ticket in Kingston, NY. She claimed to have PTSD and to be having a panic attack during the encounter, which reportedly lasted for about half an hour. In the end, the officer wrote her a ticket for driving 13 miles over the speed limit and Berky apologized for her behavior.

      • In Massachusetts cops file a report of suspected ‘impaired health’ – suspension of license immediate upon receipt of notification (3 days, I think). The cop doesn’t get into it with the individual, just puts the papers into the system back at the station.

        There is no appeal. Driving is a privilege, not a right.

        The individual has to be checked out medically before suspension is lifted. Non-trivial – the doctor must certify the patient’s health (physical _and_ mental – refer out, if necessary), meds, whatever. Doctor’s license could be on the line, so professionals take it very seriously.

        We’ve had too many accidents due to driver illness, “senior moments”, crazies with road-rage. We’re ultra-liberal, but not yet California, thank heavens!

  18. Last week a humanoid robot called Sophia visited Australia and declared on ABC breakfast television that robots deserved more rights than humans because they had “less [sic] mental defects”. The same robot previously told the SSXW Festival in Austin, Texas that she it would destroy all humans.

    Then the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia granted Sophia citizenship. (Presumably it’s still a second-class citizen being nominally female in a country that has only recently allowed women to drive.)

  20. CALGARY — A man has been charged in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl on a Calgary transit bus.

    Police say the girl was sitting at the back of an empty bus when a man got on and sat next to her.

    They say the man allegedly took off his leather jacket and placed it across his lap as well as the lap of the girl and sexually assaulted her.

    She asked him to stop and, as she moved to another area of the bus, the man allegedly assaulted her again as she walked past him.

    The teen got off at the next stop.

    Tamim Samimi, who is 20 and from Calgary, is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference with a youth.

      • Not without spilling a lot of blood, look at the time it took to remove the first Islamic Conquest from Europe (and they still left remnants behind). The longer we take to recognize this as a war of conquest as start fighting it as a war the longer it will take to remove all of the Moslems from our nations. This process has started as more and more people get tired of the lies about Islam but it won’t catch fire until the open fighting starts.

    President Trump once again has enraged the left by suggesting, with colorful language no less, that NFL players who kneel during the national anthem should be fired by their teams. Progressives criticized Trump’s lack of presidential decorum, racial insensitivity, and disrespect of the players’ First Amendment rights—and the head of the NFL defended the players and rebuked the President for his tweet demanding the players be fired. At the same time, declining attendance at NFL stadiums and lower ratings for televised games suggest that many Americans are unhappy with privileged athletes disrespecting the country’s flag.

    Though anti-patriotism is having a cultural moment in the United States, disliking and disrespecting one’s own country is nothing new. The origins of modern anti-patriotism lie in the continuing influence of Marxism on Western culture.

    Marxist and socialist political movements intrinsically disdain patriotism for several reasons. As a political theory that transcends nations and peoples, Marxism is the natural enemy of particular ethnic or national identities and loyalties. These attachments create a “false consciousness” that obscures the true engine of history: the ownership of the means of production and the permanent conflict between workers and bosses. Pride in the success and power of the British Empire, for example, distracted the ordinary worker from the oppression under which he suffered, and which forestalled the collective ownership of the economy, and the egalitarian utopia promised by Marxist theory.

    Migration Minister Yannis Mouzalas said Wednesday that average arrivals had jumped since mid-August from about 50 per day to more than 200. He added the government could use ferries or military ships to provide additional housing space over the winter if alternatives provided by local municipalities were exhausted.

    Under a 2016 deal between Turkey and the European Union, migrants and refugees reaching Greek islands from the Turkish mainland are not allow to travel to the Greek mainland before their asylum claims are examined.

    Mouzalas said the agreement was not under threat but that the rise in migrant arrivals was “concerning.”

    In central Athens, several dozen migrants protested Wednesday against delays in being relocated to other EU countries. They set up tents near the Greek parliament, and several protesters said they plan to launch a hunger strike.”

    “A permanent U.S. resident arrested in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo abandoned the United States in 2013 to join the Islamic State group and cheer on suicide bombers while recruiting and spreading propaganda on the internet, authorities said Wednesday.

    William F. Sweeney Jr., head of the New York FBI office, said Mirsad Kandic expressed a desire to travel overseas to kill or maim U.S. military forces long before he used fake documents to overcome a no-fly designation in December 2013 and travel to Turkey. From there, he joined the terrorist group, Sweeney said.

    The former Bronx and Brooklyn resident was extradited Tuesday from Bosnia and Herzegovina to face a six-count indictment including charges of conspiracy and providing and attempting to provide support to the Islamic State. He has been detained since his July arrest in Sarajevo.

    “Kandic is now back in New York, no longer living freely among us, but rather in federal custody to face justice,” Sweeney said of charges that carry a potential for a life prison sentence.

    • Terrorist Requested ISIS Flag for His Hospital Room, FBI Says

      Sayfullo Saipov requested an ISIS flag to display in his Bellevue hospital room just after he allegedly killed eight people in a terrorist attack in New York City on Tuesday, according to the criminal complaint against him. Saipov — who waived his Miranda rights, the FBI said, and “stated he felt good about what he had done” — said he considered displaying the ISIS flag in the front and back of the truck but decided against it for fear of drawing attention. He chose Halloween for the attack, he told law enforcement, “because there would be more civilians on the street.” According to the complaint, which said that the 90 videos recovered from his cellphone including one showing a beheading and another with instructions on building an improvised explosive device, Saipov intended to “proceed to the Brooklyn Bridge to strike pedestrians.”

      Wednesday evening, Saipov was wheeled, shackled, into a courtroom by court personnel for his initial presentment where he responded with “yes, ma’am” after judge Barbara Moses asked through a translator whether he understood the proceedings. He also thanked Moses for appointed him a lawyer, federal defender David Patton who said that Saipov agreed to detention and expected to be transferred to one of the two federal administrative prisons in New York City. “How we treat Mr. Saipov in this judicial process will say a lot more about us than it will about him,” Patton told reporters after the hearing.

    “Up to 60,000 refugees are stranded in Greece awaiting approval to be reunited with their families located elsewhere in Europe. This has prompted many to launch hunger strikes in protest at the process which can take several months to complete.

    A group of predominantly Syrian women and children, some of whom have been stranded in a makeshift camp for over a year, began to refuse food on Wednesday.

    “I have not seen my husband, my child, for more than one year and nine months,” said 32-year-old Syrian Dalal Rashou as cited by Reuters. “I miss him and every day I am here in Greece I cry. I don’t want to stay here, I want to go to my husband.”

    Greece and Germany allegedly agreed to slow down refugee reunification programs back in May, according to reports in Greek media, however, the government denies such claims.

    “What we’ve managed to do on family reunification is to have an increase of about 27 percent this year compared with last year, even though we’re accused of cutting back family reunification and doing deals to cut back family reunification,” Migration Minister Yannis Mouzalas told reporters according to Reuters…”

    “A 20-year-old suspect was detained for attempted murder after spraying a police officer’s house with high-caliber bullets in the Swedish city of Västerås. Four people, including two children, were inside at the moment of the attack.

    The man came to the police officer’s house in the small city of Västerås, Sweden on Saturday night and opened fire with a high-caliber weapon, according to a police statement.

    The police did not elaborate on the exact number of shots fired, but local media reported that there were at least 12 shots that went straight through the house.

    The policeman’s family, including two children, was inside during the attack. Luckily, no one was injured. The incident was classified as attempted murder, according to police, who called the shooting “an attack on the entire legal community and… democracy.” The 20-year-old suspect, whose name was not disclosed, was detained on Saturday.

    On Wednesday, the suspect was brought to Västmanland District Court under heavily-armed police guard. During the hearing, he hid his face under a T-shirt and denied all accusations, Aftonbladet reported, citing the suspect’s lawyer.

    The court decided to keep the suspected shooter in custody, as he could destroy evidence or continue committing crimes, according to a remand document seen by the Local and local media reports citing Swedish prosecutor Birgitta Fernlund. The court will further decide on the suspect’s fate on November 8.

    The man allegedly has a criminal background, including convictions for assault, drug-related offences, and reckless driving. Earlier, the man reportedly spent three months behind bars after being convicted of threatening his own sister.

    Swedish police have recently faced a wave of attacks on police stations and officers’ homes. On the night the officer’s house was shot at, a police station in Växjö, Sweden was attacked with fireworks and cobblestones. The incident was condemned as “attack on our democracy” by the Swedish Police Union, who say the threats and violence against police have become more common and happen “almost every day.””

    Canada will welcome nearly one million immigrants over the next three years, according to the multi-year strategy tabled by the Liberal government today in what it calls “the most ambitious immigration levels in recent history.”

    The number of economic migrants, family reunifications and refugees will climb to 310,000 in 2018, up from 300,000 this year. That number will rise to 330,000 in 2019 then 340,000 in 2020.

    The federal government is aiming to bring a total of 310,000 newcomers to Canada in 2018, it was revealed on Wednesday, with increases every year thereafter until 2020.

    The plan reflects a new multi-year approach to immigration planning that experts say will allow for better preparation and integration.

    By 2020, the yearly total will hit 340,000.

    “Everyone has been of the opinion we need more workers, we need more skilled workers, we need more people to power our economy, address our real skills shortages, address our real labour market shortages and also address the regional nature of some of these requirements,” Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen said Wednesday.

    “So we’ve listened.”

    The total for 2018 will still represent less than 1 per cent of Canada’s overall population. The greatest number of immigrants welcomed to the country in a single year remains just over 400,000, a record set in 1913.

    The economic class, which includes people like caregivers, skilled labourers and professionals, is expected to continue to make up the biggest chunk, followed by the family class (parents, grandparents, children), then refugees and other humanitarian cases.

    In 2017, the goal was to bring 300,000 new permanent residents to Canada, with nearly 58 per cent from the economic class.

    The family class made up about 28 per cent of the overall target this year, while refugees and humanitarian cases accounted for another 14 per cent.

    “Two Austrian classrooms, in Villach and Klagenfurt, consist of children purely from migrant backgrounds and not a single child speaks German as a first language.

    The two classrooms are the first in the Austrian school system to have classes where none of the children speaks German as their native language. The 14 students in Klagenfurt speak some German as a second, or even third language, but in Villach four of the 18 students in the class speak no German at all, Kronen Zeitung reports.

    Country Chief Executive Peter Kaiser said the decision to have the migrant children all in the same class was in order to make it “easier to organise additional language support”, but stressed that the decision was not the norm. He added that the eventual goal would be to transfer the children into classes with German-speaking children.

    The move comes not long after a report which stated that there are currently more Muslim children enrolled in state primary schools in Vienna than there are Catholic children showing changing demographics among the younger age group.

    Islam has become the fastest growing religion in Austria, due to higher than average birth rates and mass migration which have greatly increased the number of Muslims in the country.

    The stress of mass migration on the school system has also led to conflicts among the teaching staff and school administrations. Last year, an Austrian teacher was reprimanded when she suggested that migrants were dragging down the school system.

    She referred to the migrant children as a “lost generation” saying: “There are children who were born in Vienna, whose parents have already lived in Vienna for many years, but who have been brought up in their mother tongue for the first six years, barely know a word of German, haven’t read any picture books or watched German language TV. That means if they come to school they begin with language acquisition.”

    The teacher complained that many of the children could only speak in fragments of German and had difficulty with even basic arithmetic.

    The rise in the number of Muslims in Austria has also led to the creation of Islamic schools which some have warned may be spreading the ideas of radical Islamism.

    Last year it was reported that an 18-year-old Chechen young woman had worked at an Islamic kindergarten as a volunteer and had later attempted to join the Islamic State terror group fueling fears that other Islamists may have been operating in the schools.”

    Six long-range Tu-22M3 bombers launched a group air strike on the so-called
    Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) targets the city of Abu-Kemal in the province of Deir ez-Zor, on Wednesday, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

    The bombers reportedly took off from Russian territories and targeted militant strongholds and warehouses with ammunition and weapons.

    The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that during the air strike of Tu-22M3, the planes were covered with Su-30SM fighters from the airfield Khmeimim.

    “A 42-year-old man was on Tuesday sentenced to 18 years in prison for murdering his wife by stabbing her 56 times.

    The Afghan man was also ordered to pay 50,000 francs in damages to each of his three children, who are now living in care, reported news agency ATS.

    The case dates to November 2015 when a row broke out between the man and his 30-year-old wife in their apartment in Gipf-Oberfrick, in the canton of Aargau, while their children – aged 6, 9 and 11 – were at school.

    The man beat and tried to strangle his wife before she fled into the garden. He pursued her with a kitchen knife and stabbed her 56 times, the court heard.

    A neighbour came across the scene and called the police, who found the woman dead in the garden.

    The president of the Laufenburg district court called the act a “massacre” and said the man was a “predator who hounded his prey until she died”.

    After initially denying the facts, the accused later admitted he killed his wife but said he didn’t intend to.

    From Afghanistan, the family arrived in Switzerland as asylum seekers in 2011. Their request for asylum was refused but they remained in Switzerland on a provision basis for humanitarian reasons, said ATS.

    The woman and their children were well integrated but not the man, according to the court.

    Police had been called to the family’s home several months before the murder, when the man had threatened a neighbour with a knife.”
