“Saudi Arabia has threatened economic retaliation against countries that back a UN resolution setting up an international probe into war violations in Yemen, AFP reported on Tuesday.
A letter viewed by the news agency on Tuesday comes as UN members consider a Dutch/Canadian draft, which calls for an investigation – known as a Commission of Inquiry – into war deaths in the Yemen.
Saudi Arabia is leading an Arab military coalition backing the Yemeni government against rebels, but airstrikes have led to many civilian deaths.
Riyadh is highly sensitive of criticism about the way it handles the war.
“Adopting The Netherlands/Canadian draft resolution in the Human Rights Council may negatively affect the bilateral political economic relations with Saudi Arabia”, a letter circulated by the kingdom and seen by AFP said.
Saudi Arabia “will not accept” the Dutch/Canadian draft, it added, and called for more support to the Yemeni domestic probe, which the UN says lacks credibility.
The Geneva director for Human Rights Watch, who has also seen the document sent to multiple countries, described the threat as “disgraceful”.
“It is outrageous that Saudi Arabia is seeking to use threats of economic and political sanctions to bully states into not supporting the kind of international investigation that could put an end to the abuses,” Fisher told AFP.
“The (Arab) coalition forces have bombed hospitals, they have bombed market places, homes, funeral parlours and it is time for the international community to say enough is enough.”
United Nations rights chief Zeid Raad al-Hussein has repeatedly lobbied the Human Rights Council to create an independent investigation of alleged atrocities in Yemen.
A Saudi-led coalition entered the Yemen war against Houthi rebels in March 2015.
Civilian targets like markets and hospitals have also been hit during the war, but Saudi Arabia has so far succeeded in blocking an international probe.
The Human Rights Council, which concludes its ongoing session on Friday, is again split over a path forward.
At least 10,000 people have been killed in Yemen’s war, the vast majority are believed to be civilians.”

Two words: Barry Bonds.
So-called “celebrity athletes” (again, those are sneer quotes) rank among some of the most overpaid and under-worked individuals short only of Hollyweird mega-stars. One merely need examine the criminal arrest (and conviction) rates, much less the incarceration records or bankruptcy proceedings against these excessively-entitled and profligate gangsta thugs to gain a slight appreciation of how corrupt the entire pro-sports (and entertainment) system is.
All the same, there should be no legal compulsion for these primates to stand erect during the national anthem (or burn the American flag). It’s their choice to be disrespectful and it’s our choice to switch off the idiot box.

There is no way to overstate this issue. Recipients of college sports scholarships are routinely found to have “assistants” taking their tests for them even as these “star” performers are discovered to have been provided with expensive vehicles or off-campus housing as part of their “higher edumahcation”.

Army investigating West Point grad’s pro-communist social media posts
The U.S. Army announced on Tuesday that it is probing a West Point graduate’s pro-communist posts on social media.
The Army was quick to announce it was looking into the messages posted by Second Lieutenant Spenser Rapone, issuing a statement on Tuesday saying, “Second Lieutenant Rapone’s actions in no way reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army.”
“As figures of public trust, members of the military must exhibit exemplary conduct, and are prohibited from engaging in certain expressions of political speech in uniform. Second Lieutenant Rapone’s chain of command is aware of his actions and is looking into the matter. The academy is prepared to assist the officer’s chain of command as required,” the statement continued.

Most people know very little about our military academies. One of my sons is a graduate of USNA. As an active participant in the parents club I went many times to USMA to support various sport teams or other groups from Navy.
USMA is a cold place far away from the rest of us. Just the architecture of the place is rather forbidding and no where anyone would actually want to be.
That is why I find it amazing that this young man, and others, managed to make it through there with their political ideology. They suffered 4 years in exile to make their point at the last minute?
I can only think that they are mentally unbalanced. It cost one hell of a lot of bucks to train up officers through the academies. It is actually like $300,000 for the 4 years.
There are many stops in the system where a cadet/midshipman can say stop, and walk away. I’ll tell you that as a very concerned parent I found this to be comforting because at each junction my son had the opportunity to walk away.
These young men didn’t walk away and are kind of like suicide bombers in that they invested a huge amount of living off public good will only to blow it up. I find that to be insane and I think that not only should they receive dishonorable discharges but they should also pay back the taxpayer’s investment in them.
Staggering.

Alleged cannibal Natalia Baksheeva made ‘pies’ of suspected human meat and supplied them to local restaurants, it has been claimed.
The 42 year old and husband Dmitry Baksheev, 35, are detained amid urgent police investigations into her confession that the couple killed and ate 30 or more victims.

PHOENIX (AP) — A leading purveyor of fake news in the 2016 presidential election has died outside Phoenix at the age of 38.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mark Casey said Tuesday authorities discovered Paul Horner dead in his bed on Sept. 18.
Casey said the Maricopa County medical examiner performed an autopsy which showed there were no signs of foul play. He said Horner had a history of prescription drug abuse and that “evidence at the scene suggested this could be an accidental overdose.”

Sex diseases in US surge to record high
Washington (AFP) – Sexually transmitted diseases surged to a record high in the United States last year, with more than two million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis nationwide, officials said Tuesday.
This was “the highest number ever,” said the annual Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Report released today by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Most of the new cases — 1.6 million in 2016 — involved chlamydia, a bacterial infection that affects both men and women.
Gonorrhea also increased among men and women last year, but the steepest rise was among men (22 percent), said the report.
Nationwide, gonorrhea cases reached 470,000, with a large share of new gonorrhea cases among men who have sex with men.

COX’S BAZAR, Bangladesh: Bangladesh police Wednesday arrested three Rohingya men and a Bangladeshi for trying to smuggle 800,000 methamphetamine pills into the country from Myanmar, an official said.
The arrests come as Bangladesh struggles to deal with a massive influx of Rohingya Muslims fleeing unrest in neighbouring Myanmar’s Rakhine state.
Officers from Bangladesh’s elite Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained the four men on a fishing trawler in the estuary of the Naf river, which divides the two countries.
“We caught four people trafficking Yaba tablets. Three of them are Rohingya from Myanmar and the other one is a Bangladeshi,” Major Ruhul Amin, an RAB area commander, told AFP.
“They were carrying 800,000 yaba tablets on a boat. They brought the yabas from Myanmar. Two of the Rohingyas came here recently. And the other one is an old refugee,” he added.

UK: 11 arrested on terror charges in neo-Nazi probe
Eleven men have been arrested by counter terrorism police in the UK following an investigation into the banned neo-Nazi group National Action.
Six of the men are from the North West of England, including one man who was arrested in prison, while two are from the South Wales area, two are from the West Yorkshire area and one is from the Wiltshire area. Their ages range from 22 to 35.
National Action, an anti-Semitic, white supremacist group, was banned as a terrorist organisation in December by the UK’s home secretary.

Sarsour Claims Trump Travel Restrictions Are ‘Muslim Ban 3.0’
Islamist activist Linda Sarsour called U.S. President Donald Trump’s new travel restrictions a “Muslim Ban” even though the new restrictions include two non-Muslim countries – North Korea and Venezuela.
Sudan, a Muslim country, was taken off the new list.
Sarsour tweeted, “Muslim Ban 3.0. #No MuslimBanEver” and “New travel ban aka Muslim Ban 3.0 does not have an expiration date. #NoMuslimBanEver.”
In another tweet, she decried the restrictions, saying “smh” (so much hate).
The Muslim Brotherhood-linked Islamist organization CAIR (the Council on American Islamic Relations) is spinning the new restrictions as “just one part of the administration’s ‘ugly white supremacist agenda’” in a press release dated September 24. The group is also promoting the hashtag #NoMuslimBanEver.
Sarsour and CAIR were peddling victimhood status way before Trump was a political commodity. In a media appearance in early 2015, Sarsour claimed Muslim children were being executed in the U.S.
On the Rachel Maddow show, Sarsour ranted, “We come to the U.S., 22 states with anti-sharia bills trying to ban us from practicing our faith, mosque oppositions. We’re fighting, you know, zoning boards across the country. Our kids are hearing this rhetoric; we have people — mosques being vandalized, kids being executed, Islamophobia, leaders on national television saying that, you know, holy wars and these people want to take over America.”

Gang Raped for Brother’s Love Marriage
The family of a girl who was abducted and gang raped as a punishment for brother’s marriage to the woman he loved may finally see justice for the brutal crime which occurred close to nine months ago.
Against the wishes of their parents and the village elders in an area of Pakistan called Mauza Noor Muhammad Bhangran, Fayyaz Rakha married Parveen Bibi, the woman he loved.
As retribution, Fayyaz’s sister, Tasleem, was kidnapped at gunpoint in her home by Parveen’s father, Hakim Ali, as well as nine other male members of Parveen’s family. Tasleem was taken to a hidden location for six days and gang raped by the 10 men.
On the seventh day, Hakim, an influential and wealthy member of the community, convened a panchayat (a local governing council) made up of other influential members of the community. The panchayat promptly declared the incident as vani, a custom in parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan where a young girl is forcibly married as a punishment for a crime committed by a male relative. (The word vani is derived from the word vanay, which means blood.)
The panchayat then forced Tasleem’s father to agree to their decision or pay a fine of over $76,000, an impossible sum in a village in Pakistan. In addition, Tasleem was forced to marry Hakim’s nephew.

In August, the polling company YouGov conducted an opinion survey among 2,000 members of the British public. The poll, carried out in partnership with Arab News, the Saudi paper owned by a member of the Saudi royal family, was published September 25.
As might be expected from such a publication, the questions asked of the British public, and the answers received, suited a particular line of argument: the survey evidently sought to find evidence of “Islamophobic” attitudes. It duly found that 41% of the British public polled said that Arab immigrants and refugees had not added anything to society and 55% agreed in principle with the profiling of Arabs for security reasons. The Arab News/YouGov poll also found that 72% of the British public think that “Islamophobia” is getting worse in the UK.
Alongside this report came the surprising finding that a similar number of British people (7 in 10) believe that “the rise in Islamophobic comments by politicians and others are fuelling hate crime.”
Translation: The Brits are reading the news and thinking for themselves, the Saudi’s are upset with this.

“Islam is a religion of peace, but you can’t have peace without justice,” said self-styled “civil rights activist” Linda Sarsour at the Muslim American Society-Islamic Circle of North America (MAS-ICNA) convention in December 2016. Sarsour, who describes herself as a “Palestinian-American feminist,” is but one example of a radical Muslim in the West who has carefully cultivated an image of herself as righteously preoccupied with liberal values and social justice — and Islamist organizations, such as MAS, ICNA and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), have tried to do the same.
A highlight reel from the MAS-ICNA convention features author Yasmin Mogahed declaring, “We have to care about the pain and struggles of others,” as well as a prominent imam, Omar Suleiman, asking, “What have we done for the marginalized in this country?”
In a promotional video released in 2016, the organization’s president, Azhar Azeez, boasts of “bringing a very positive impact to our communities across the nation.”
According to Muslim feminist bloggers, however, who write regularly for the site muslimgirl.com, MAS, ICNA, and ISNA are blatantly racist. One such observer, in a piece titled “Mainstream Islamic Conferences Have a Longstanding History of Normalizing Anti-Blackness,” writes:

Editor’s note: David Horowitz Freedom Center is naming the “Top Ten Worst Schools that Support Terrorists.” The latest school to be named to this list is Brandeis University. Known for its Jewish origins, Brandeis joins the University of California-Berkeley, the University of California-Irvine, the University of Chicago, DePaul University, and San Francisco State University on the list. Coinciding with the naming of Brandeis to this list, the Freedom Center placed posters on the Brandeis University campus exposing the links between Students for Justice in Palestine and the terrorist organization Hamas, whose stated goal is the destruction of the Jewish state.
As revealed in recent congressional testimony, Students for Justice in Palestine is a campus front for Hamas terrorists. SJP’s propaganda activities are orchestrated and funded by a Hamas front group, American Muslims for Palestine, whose chairman is Hatem Bazian and whose principals are former officers of the Holy Land Foundation and other Islamic “charities” previously convicted of funneling money to Hamas. For thirteen years in a row, Business Insider – citing its standard of living, health-care system, and high life expectancy – has put Norway at the top of its annual list of “best countries to live in.” The high life expectancy is an objective fact; the other items are a matter of debate. Norwegian health care? It works admirably, unless you require an operation or treatment that the government considers too expensive or for which there’s a waiting list. Standard of living? Incomes are high, but so are taxes.
But I’m not here to argue with Business Insider’s rankings. I’m here to point out an aspect of Norwegian life that never figures on any of these “best country” lists, whether put out by Business Insider or the United Nations or whomever. I’m talking about statism – the degree to which the state is a palpable part of everyday life.
Briefly put, Norway is pretty much statism central. I’m more accustomed to it now, but when I was first living here I was acutely aware every single day of the presence of the government in my life. I’m not talking about some abstract, theoretical phenomenon. It’s a real, palpable feeling. A feeling of being a bit less of an individual and a bit more part of a collective. An awareness that your eleven-digit “person number” (which includes your birth date) comes up a lot more often than your social-security number ever did back in the U.S. A sense of being covered by an umbrella, but also surrounded by a wall.

Can’t We Talk About This? tells the whole horrifying story of how advanced the Islamic war on free speech is, and how close leftist and Islamic authoritarians are to final victory and the death of the freedom of speech and free society.

Bad Environmentalist Movie’s Failure Blamed on Ignorance of “Science”

Science. The left has no idea what it is. Lefties think science is another weapon in their culture war. And if the public doesn’t go see their failed environmentalist horror movie, it’s because they hate science.
The movie in question is Mother. It has a CinemaScore of F. Rex Reed called it the worst movie of the century. It’s a horror movie that was supposed to be a metaphor for the environment.
Nobody got that. And even if they had, it would still be terrible.
Mother is the work of Darren Aronofsky, who had previously defaced the biblical story of Noah with the same ecoranting.
