  1. Saudi Arabia has lost $250 billion in three years (memo, Aug 29, 2017)
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20170829-saudi-arabia-has-lost-250-billion-in-three-years/

“The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), which is analogous to the Saudi Central Bank, has lost about $250 billion of its cash assets in just three years reaching its lowest levels in six years.

According to an official report released by SAMA and obtained by Middle East Eye, the monetary assets declined at the end of July 2017 for the 14th month in a row to reach 1.91 trillion Saudi Riyals ($509 billion), which is the lowest level in six years. The figure has also showed a 12.4% decline compared to a year ago.

Official figures show that SAMA lost a value of 932 billion Saudi riyals ($ 249 billion) between August 2014-July 2017

According to the SAMA report, the decline in monetary assets was due to a 10% decline with respect to investment securities abroad, while the report did not indicate the decline in oil prices or the war in Yemen and their implications on the monetary situation of the Kingdom.

The London-based economic analyst Nihad Ismael told Middle East Eye that several factors combined to precipitate a decline in SAMA’s monetary assets, the most important of which were the decline in oil prices and the war in Yemen in addition to geopolitical tensions in the Gulf region, due to the imposition of the blockade on Qatar.

Ismael added that “the war in Yemen alone drains $600 million a month from the Saudi treasury.” Bloomberg news agency also estimates that Saudi Arabia has lost $22 billion since the blockade on Qatar which began in June.”

    • Europe’s policewomen are a neon caution sign:
=> yer on yer own! <=

Many are out of shape. In some clips they're shorter than their shields.
Ponytails and loose hair? Like swinging handles, they almost invite a take-down, drag-away.
I bet their rape rate is just as high as for women in the general population.

At least the policemen have a size and testosterone advantage, besides being [generally] less appealing to sexual predators. But they’re probably so afraid of accusations of 'sexism' and 'police brutality', they’re effectively neutered.

    • Only a liberal would want to make soldiers more belligerent! The military is about the intelligent and controlled use of violence, not about acting a bunch of antifa rioters.

This tech is coming and in the long run will be rejected by the thinking people, right now the left has seized enough control that they have convinced a lot (too many) of the people to give up their privacy but given what is happening I don’t think this will last much longer.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/backed-italy-libya-enlists-militias-stop-migrants-49484692

“Under a deal backed by Italy, Libya’s struggling government in Tripoli has paid militias implicated in trafficking to now prevent migrants from crossing the Mediterranean to Europe, one reason for a dramatic drop in the traffic, militia and security officials told The Associated Press.

The policy has raised an outcry among some in the Libyan security forces and activists dealing with migrants, who warn that it enriches militias, enabling them to buy more weapons and become more powerful. In the country’s chaos, the militias can at any time go back to trafficking or turn against the government, they say…”

“A suicide bombing in a busy commercial area in Kabul near a string of banks and not far from the U.S. Embassy killed at least five people on Tuesday, Afghan officials said. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

Elsewhere, at least 13 civilians were killed in an overnight airstrike by the Afghan air force that targeted the Taliban in western Herat province.

In the Kabul attack, the explosion likely targeted a branch of the privately owned Kabul Bank, according to Basir Mujahid, spokesman for the Kabul police chief. The U.S. Embassy compound is located about 500 meters (yards) down the road from the bank…”

  7. German nationalist leader’s immunity from prosecution lifted (abcnews, Aug 29, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/german-nationalist-leaders-immunity-prosecution-lifted-49489323

“A German state legislature has lifted a prominent nationalist leader’s immunity from prosecution, paving the way for a possible indictment over allegations she lied under oath.

The investigation of Frauke Petry, a national co-leader of Alternative for Germany, centers on different accounts that she and another party official gave to a parliamentary committee about a candidate list for a 2014 regional election.

Ivo Klatte, a spokesman for Saxony’s regional parliament, told news agency dpa Tuesday no objections were raised against lifting Petry’s immunity after a panel recommended the move — backed by Petry herself, who says she wants to clear her name.

The party hopes to enter Germany’s national parliament in an election Sept. 24. Petry is one of its best-known figures but her influence has declined in recent months.”

  8. Iraqi military: IS puts up tough resistance outside Tal Afar (abcnews, Aug 29, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iraqi-military-puts-tough-resistance-tal-afar-49487560

“An Iraqi military spokesman says Islamic State militants are putting up tough resistance in a small area outside the newly liberate town of Tal Afar.

The spokesman for the Joint Military Command, Brig. Gen Yahya Rasool, says the military launched a series of heavy airstrikes and artillery since early morning Tuesday on the militants’ positions in al-Ayadia district, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) northwest of Tal Afar.

In a separate statement, the military says the troops have entered the district, without giving details.

Last week, U.S.-backed Iraqi troops launched a multi-pronged operation to retake Tal Afar, a month after declaring Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, fully liberated. The militants still control the northern town of Hawija as well as Qaim, Rawa and Ana, in western Iraq near the Syrian border.”

  9. IS claims responsibility for attack in Russia’s Dagestan (abcnews, Aug 29, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/claims-responsibility-attack-russias-dagestan-49484551

“The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for an attack in Russia’s Dagestan that killed one police officer and wounded another.

Russian authorities reported on Monday that two men armed with knives attacked three police officers in the Caspian Sea town of Kaspiysk. The men killed one of the officers and wounded another before the third officer shot the assailants to death.

A statement released by the IS-affiliated news agency Aamaq on Tuesday described the attackers in Kaspiysk as “soldiers of the Islamic State.”

Police in Kaspiysk said they found a flag bearing IS symbols at the site of the attack.

Dagestan is a predominantly Muslim region between Chechnya and the Caspian Sea. It has been a breeding ground for Islamic militants who mount regular attacks on police and officials.”

      Xinhua News Agency – Wiki

      Excerpt:

The Xinhua News Agency (English pronunciation: /???n?hw??/[1]) is the official press agency of the People’s Republic of China. Xinhua is the biggest and most influential media organization in China. Xinhua is a ministry-level institution subordinate to the Chinese central government. Its president is a member of the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party.

Xinhua operates more than 170 foreign bureaus worldwide, and maintains 31 bureaus in China—one for each province, plus a military bureau. Xinhua is the sole channel for the distribution of important news related to the Communist Party and Chinese central government.

Xinhua has been criticized by international media for promoting propaganda, hate speech and racism against opponents of the Communist Party of China. Due to the media censorship in China, Xinhua remains the major source for smaller news publications, illiciting a Conflict of Interest between the Communist Party and the news agency.

People’s Daily, for example, uses Xinhua material for approximately 25 percent of its stories. Xinhua is a publisher as well as a news agency—it owns more than 20 newspapers and a dozen magazines, and it prints in eight languages: Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese, Arabic, and Japanese.

    • An educational video on How to Effectively Stop Antifa (No Petition)
Remember there is a chain of command when it comes to the Police Dept.Police respond to supervisors orders, be they sergeants, lieutenants, or captains. The head of the police department is the “chief”, responsible for hiring, firing,.discipline, pay raises and overseeing those officers ordered to take leave w/without pay pending investigations.

The Mayor is the boss of the police chief. The Mayor hires, fires and disciplines the Chief of Police. IOW, the Mayor (Vice or Deputy Mayor in Mayor’s absence) instructs the Chief of Police on policy. It is the Mayor who instructs the Chief of Police to ‘stand down’ during AntiFa related events.
Now, the only reason AntiFa is so bold and dangerous is because they hide their identity behind a mask or clothing while assaulting innocent bystanders and vandalize property without being identified for subsequent arrest.
To destroy AntiFa or any violent group concealing their identity you have to get rid of the masks.
We have anti-mask laws and need to demand that our mayors enforce anti-mask laws or suffer legal consequences.

Remember D.C., Berkeley, Charlottesville and Boston all have anti-mask laws were not enforced because they have democrat mayors.
However, in Auburn, Alabama, Republican Mayor Bill Ham Jr. DID enforce the anti-mask law when Richard Spencer had his rally. Any member of AntiFa who violated this law were to be arrested and their identities would be revealed. When AntiFa members realized this, they left and there were no riots, no vandalism despite some AntiFa removing their masks and protesting. Those AntiFa who assaulted opponents were arrested and identified.

To stop AntiFa we need to recognize that Mayors are elected officials and weeks before the next AntiFa scheduled event familiarize locals with anti-mask laws and demand that mayor enforce the anti-mask law. Police officers will require any AntiFa member showing up with a mask or identity blocking garment must be unmasked or arrested. If the mayor refuses to comply with the anti-mask law, apply pressure with threats of lawsuits which ultimately cost the city millions. Political suicide for any mayor.

“We have a Russian proverb: ‘Do not call a wolf to help you against the dogs.” If dogs are attacking and tearing at you, fight against the dogs, but do not call a wolf for help. Because when the wolves come, they will destroy the dogs, but they will also tear you apart.'”
      – Alexander Solzhenitsyn – Warning to the West

      • Mike Gonzalez needs to study history, Stalin was worse then Hitler he just wasn’t a bigger threat until after WWII.

      • • Solzhenitsyn wasn’t a godless commie, but he didn’t write gospel. Some conservative writers I otherwise respect tend to obscure the distinction.

        • We’re not “innately” dogs or wolves. Even if we know we’re the Good Guys and They’re Not, the pursuit of national interests is a function of complex variables that don’t comport with moral absolutes.

Eisenhower’s Sec. of State, John Foster Dulles, said: The US of A doesn’t have friends; it has interests.

We may join a fight to protect shared values, but our perception of friend :: foe is always manipulated by the politicians who take us to war.

For example, the caricature of “Hermann the Horrible Hun” in British propaganda during WW I: harkening to the savage Barbarian against the Roman at Teutoburg Forest. A confection that was seen as so patently outrageous after the war, it resulted in skepticism inappropriate to the genuine threat posed by Germany in the 1930s.

        • Nothing is as simple or as dangerous as an appealing proverb. As Richard reminds us, “The enemy of my enemy is my enemy’s enemy. Nothing more.” And besides, “The enemy of my enemy could also be my enemy.”

Mass Brawl between Germans and Refugees:

Only now has it been officially acknowledged that a mass brawl with up to 100 participants wrangled in front of the Karl Marx monument, with six people were injured, and seven more in a pepper spray attack.

An eyewitness, a resident of Chemnitz, Nancy B., describes on her Facebook page the exact development of the mass brawl:

»(Summary) Chemnitz City Festival yesterday: Impossible behavior of foreign “fellow citizens”. Next to us was a large group of rowdy foreign youths. They were pushing older women, insulted them etc. Several Germans came to try and help (we were a part of this group). The foreign youths were totally aggressive and they were kicking and hitting everyone. Eventually then two fronts formed which stood opposite each other. A row of Germans opposite a row of foreigners. It was like in a movie …. an intolerable situation … «.

    • The Germans seem to be fighting back, if this is happening now it will grow into much bigger brawls and eventually pitch battles.

      • I hope you are right (that they start to fight back) otherwise we´ll have to leave Germany in the future.

        • I am afraid that a lot of Germans are going to have to leave Germany, while they do appear to be fighting back I don’t see them being able to kick out the invaders without help. This probably means governments in exile and Free German Armies to help allies retake all of Europe that doesn’t manage to free themselves.

    • This is so surreal. I spent several weeks in Chemnitz training on focused ion beam systems. It was about seven years ago and the place was lily White.

It’s as if someone stole my travel map and gave it to the immigrants. Chemnitz, Dresden, Bautzen, Munich, all of these places are now having attacks, altercations, riots, or mass demonstrations against immigration.

Especially disturbing is the case of Bautzen. It is a small hilltop town with a beautiful cathedral and some nearby ruins of an older church. It grieves me deeply to think that such a tranquil place is now beset by unappreciative and hostile savages.

  13. Trump says Kim Jong-un’s message ‘has been received loud and clear’ and warns ‘all options are on the table’ following North Korean missile launch over Japan, prompting Seoul bombing raid to show ‘it could obliterate despot’

The U.S. led an effort for new sanctions against the rogue regime that were approved by the UN Security Council.

Within hours of Kim’s missile launch, South Korea had responded with an ‘overwhelming show of force’ by bombing a shooting range near its border to the North as part of a military drill, launching footage which contained a stern warning to Kim Jong-Un.

Seoul dropped eight Mark 84 bombs with four F15K fighter jets near Taebaek, Gangwon-do province, and released footage of the drill along with a video of its own ballistic missile tests conducted last week.

‘If North Korea threatens the security of the South Korean people and the South Korea-US alliance with their nuclear weapons and missiles our air forces will exterminate the leadership of North Korea with our strong strike capabilities,’ South Korean Colonel Lee Kuk-no warned in the video.

  14. SYRIA – US troops return fire after attack by Turkish-backed rebels in Syria

US troops have returned fire after being repeatedly shot at by Turkish-backed rebels in northern Syria, in a rare such exchange in the six-year war.

The soldiers were patrolling near an area held by the opposition fighters in the town of Manbij when they were fired on, according to Colonel Ryan Dillon, the US-led coalition’s spokesman.

“Our forces did receive fire and return fire and then moved to a secure location,” he said on Tuesday night. “We have told Turkey it is not acceptable.”

Turkey is a US ally in the conflict in Syria, where both countries have been arming and training rebel fighters.

However, Ankara has repeatedly rebuked Washington for backing Kurdish fighters in the north of the country, where they are fighting to oust Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).

There have been several clashes between the Turkish-backed rebels and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is dominated by Kurdish YPG fighters.

However, this is understood to be the first time US troops have returned fire on rebels in the area. There was reported to be no casualties.

US forces have been in northern Syria for months where they are performing a de facto “peacekeeping” role in an effort to prevent clashes between various armed groups in the region.

A relatively small number have been performing “overt patrols” in the area since March, often flying the American flag from armoured vehicles, in a bid to deter forces from targeting them.

They are also training the Manbij Military Council, a group of local Arab fighters allied to the SDF.

The US stepped up its patrols in Northern Syria in April after Turkey bombed YPG fighters.

Turkish-backed fighters have been in Syria since the start of Operation Euphrates Shield in August last year.

Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, the Turkish president, said on the first day of the operation that it was aimed against both the Isil and Syrian Kurdish ?terror groups that threaten our country in northern Syria”.

He intended for his forces to seize control of the strategic town of Manbij, but they were thwarted.

The missile fired by North Korea on Tuesday morning was believed to be a relatively untested Hwasong-12, with three of the only four previous launches ending in catastrophic failure.

Analysts have yet to decide whether the weapon that flew over northern Japan shortly after dawn was also a failure as the missile reportedly broke into three parts before crashing into the Pacific Ocean.

If anyone has their brains screwed in half-way, it was a warning to China.

  16. South Korea holds live-fire drills that simulate destroying North Korea’s leadership

(CNN)South Korea’s air force has staged a live-fire drill simulating the destruction of North Korea’s leadership, hours after Pyongyang launched a missile over Japan.
Just before 6 a.m. South Korea time Tuesday, North Korea fired an unidentified missile from near the capital Pyongyang, towards the northeast.
It flew over the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, making it the first North Korean projectile to successfully pass over Japanese territory since 1998. It subsequently broke up and fell into the Pacific Ocean.

Just hours after the launch, South Korea’s Presidential Office announced four F-15K jetfighters had dropped eight MK 84 bombs on a simulated target at the Taebaek Pilsung Firing Range in the country’s northeastern Gangwon province, about five hours drive from Seoul

BEIJING: China warned that tensions on the Korean peninsula have reached “tipping point” after North Korea Tuesday (Aug 29) fired a ballistic missile over Japan, but said the United States and South Korea are partly to blame.

Foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying urged all sides to avoid provocations and repeated Beijing’s call for the North to suspend missile tests in return for a halt to US-South Korean military exercises.

The situation is “now at a tipping point approaching a crisis. At the same time there is an opportunity to reopen peace talks,” Hua told a regular news briefing.

“We hope relevant parties can consider how we can de-escalate the situation on the peninsula and realise peace and stability on the peninsula,” she added.

    • China wants the US and South Korea to back down and stop asserting our independence and willingness to fight. If we back down China will own us and can get anything they want by having Kim act belligerent.

    • Everything Is “A-OK” With North Korea… Except It’s Not: “Both Sides Are Preparing Right Now”

So, everything is OK, now, with North Korea. Although they tested 3 more short-range missiles just before the weekend, everything is A-OK. No worries, no cares. If everything is truly A-OK, then how come the “recall” of all American citizens, and the cancellation of American passports to Korea by September 1…how come this deadline is still in place? Also, how come the U.S. is still shifting assets into place in the region quietly…such as carrier groups, Aegis and THAAD missile systems, and such? The media (slavering for a war) has just reported that Russian troop deployments to the Baltic states area for exercises could “morph” into live and hot any second.

How about United States assets, such as the ones currently bolstering troops stationed in South Korea along the DMZ…for a joint exercise with South Korean troops…could that turn live at any moment? Could it be that the United States is prepositioning its assets and troops into place prior to September 1, in anticipation of an invasion? This is not a new concept: pushing the war drums into the front ranks.

      • All of his facts are right, although I don’t think Trump will start a war to stop the bad press the propaganda media is giving him. Especially since this move will cause a lot more riots in the US and accelerate the rush to a civil war.

  18. Antifa’ violence in Berkeley spurs soul-searching within leftist activist community

Of the dozens of organizations that turned out for Sunday’s mass protest against racism here, one group was impossible to miss.

Its members dressed head to toe in black, with masked faces and some bearing pastel-painted riot shields that read “no hate.” These 100 or so militants billed themselves as a security force for progressive counter-protesters, vowing to protect them from far-right agitators.

But as the protest got underway, some of those in masks would resort to mob violence, attacking a small showing of supporters of President Trump and others they accused, sometimes inaccurately, of being white supremacists or Nazis.

The graphic videos of those attacks have spurred soul-searching within the leftist activist movement in the Bay Area and beyond. Emotions remain raw in the wake of this month’s white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., which left one woman dead and dozens injured.

  20. DAILY MAIL – Bid to deport Afghan asylum seeker who says he’ll be killed if he is sent back to his own country fails when pilot REFUSES to take off from Heathrow

Samim Bigzad was booked on to a flight after his asylum application was refused

But as 22-year-old was escorted on to Turkish Airlines jet the pilot refused to fly

He said: ‘You’re not going to take him, I’m not flying. Someone’s life is at risk’

Campaigners had turned up at Heathrow Airport hours before the flight

They explained to unwitting passengers that their plane was being used for a forcible deportation in a bid to get the message passed to the jet’s crew

The deportation of an Afghan asylum seeker has failed after the pilot of the plane on which he was due to be removed from Britain refused to take off from Heathrow.

Samim Bigzad had been booked on to a commercial flight back to his home country after his application to remain in the UK was refused by immigration officers – despite his claims that he was facing beheading by the Taliban.

But as the hysterical 22-year-old was escorted on to the Turkish Airlines jet the pilot came out of the cockpit and reportedly told guards: ‘You’re not going to take him, I’m not flying. Someone’s life is at risk.’

As he was taken on to the aircraft, Mr Bigzad – who came to the UK two years ago via the migrant camps at Calais – was said to have been ‘crying and shouting’ while screaming at officials: ‘I’m going to get killed in Afghanistan.’

Although he was ultimately given a last-minute reprieve by the pilot, as campaigners watched the jet taking off 45 minutes late from the ground they feared their efforts had been in vain.

They only discovered later that the construction worker had been taken back to the Brook House immigration removal centre near Gatwick Airport.

Hours before the plane took off campaigners approached unwitting passengers at the check-in desk to explain their flight was being used for a forcible deportation in a bid to get the message passed to the jet’s crew.

Bridget Chapman, who organised the trip, told the Independent: ‘We asked people to do whatever they were comfortable with raising it with airline staff.’

‘Airport security asked us to stop after a while, but by that point most people had boarded.’

Under European aviation regulations pilots have the final say over who boards their plane as well as if or when it takes off.

The rules state that captains are responsible for the ‘safety of the aircraft and of all crew members, passengers and cargo on board’.

It came after thousands of protesters signed a petition calling for a three-month reprieve for Mr Bigzad to appeal the Home Office’s decision to remove him from the UK.

The Afghan is said to have been threatened with beheading by the Taliban because of his job at a construction company with links to the country’s government as well as American firms – both enemies of the jihadists.

After arriving in the UK in November 2015 he moved to Kent to care for his father – a British citizen and former Afghan national who was tortured by the Taliban in the 1990s.

Following death threats made by phone, Mr Bigzad fled to Britain via Turkey, Greece and France before ultimately hiding in the back of a lorry crossing to Britain.

He had most recently been staying with a British woman – Kavel Rafferty – in Margate, Kent, for four months before being detained during a routine immigration appointment.
A Home Office spokesman told MailOnline: ‘We would not comment on individual cases.’

    • Man detained at John Lennon Liverpool Airport as bomb squad probes suspicious package (express, Aug 29, 2017)
      http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/847382/John-Lennon-Liverpool-Airport-lockdown-security-alert-latest-news

“A MAN was detained at John Lennon Liverpool Airport tonight after a suspicious package was investigated by the bomb squad.

The man, who was due to fly out of the airport, was held by officers following reports of a suspicious package, police said.

Merseyside Police officers stood the incident down after the item was found to be a battery pack “of unique appearance”.

A spokesman for Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: “Earlier this evening a suspicious package was found at the airport.

“As a precautionary measure the terminal was evacuated and the Army Bomb Disposal Team were called to undertake further investigation.

“The incident has now been stood down and officers remain at the airport to provide reassurance to the public.

“Following this, the area was declared safe and passengers are now returning to the terminal. Operations are resuming as normal, though there may be some disruption as a result.”

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “Officers attended Liverpool John Lennon Airport following reports of a suspicious item this evening, Tuesday, 29 August.

“At around 5.55pm, a suspicious item was found through routine security checks of a man due to fly out of the airport.

“The item was examined by specialist EOD officers and following enquiries, found to be a battery pack of unique appearance.

“The man in possession of the item was detained while these examinations took place.

“Working alongside airport security, a cordon was put in place within the airport as the enquiries were carried out, to ensure that the public were safe at all times.

“The airport is now fully open and no further delays are anticipated.”…”

  25. What sort of fine, upstanding individual joins Antifa? Meet one
By Thomas Madison August 29, 2017

Another weekend, another round of gratuitous Antifa violence against peaceful right-wing demonstrators. Even though right-wing rallies were canceled in the Bay Area due to the anticipation of left-wing anarchists showing up to create havoc and mayhem, Antifa terrorists showed up anyway and were able to find a few Trump supporters, who they chased and beat savagely.

Police had issued in advance a list of prohibited at a Berkeley event, which was very smart, as Antifa typically enjoys bringing baseball bats studded with nails, 2-x-4s, bricks, balloons filled with urine, pepper spray, and other dangerous objects capable of inflicting cause serious injury, even death.

  26. Facebook OKs post by black nationalists advocating mass murder of Trump supporters
By Joe Newby August 29, 2017

Last Thursday, we reported that the African-American Defense League, a black nationalist group founded by Mauricelm-Lei Millere, posted a call on Facebook to kill what it describes as “Confederates, KKK, skin heads” and “all of … President Trump’s friends” along with their families.

At that time, we reported the post to Facebook but were unable to flag it as violent. The social media site finally responded after some five days, telling us the post does not violate “one of” their their community standards:

Thanks for letting us know about this. We looked over the post, and though it doesn’t go against one of our specific Community Standards, you did the right thing by letting us know about it. We understand that it may still be offensive or distasteful to you, so we want to help you see less of things like it in the future.

Facebook went on to advise us how to deal with the issue:

  27. Berkeley police say letting Antifa beat up reporters, protesters ‘forestalled greater violence’
    By J.E. Dyer August 28, 2017

In case you missed it, a “counter-protest” against an anti-Communist rally in Berkeley on Sunday 27 August went completely out of control, when police abandoned the rally as Antifa waded into the anti-Communist protesters and started whaling on them. For those who won’t take Breitbart’s word for it, LU’s Ben Bowles points out that the Washington Post agrees on what happened. The rally was peaceful until masked, weapon-wielding Antifa thugs showed up.

The rally had originally been planned by organizer Amber Cummings, who billed it as a “No to Marxism” protest. It was scheduled in Berkeley for the day after a Patriot Prayer rally in San Francisco, which was cancelled hours before the start time due to the threat of Antifa violence.

Amber Cummings was actually urging her supporters

  28. Iran Is Taking Over Syria. Can Anyone Stop It?

Since the civil war began in 2011, the government of Bashar al-Assad has relied on Iran and its proxies like the Lebanese Hizbullah to stay in power. If Syria’s orientation toward Iran continues, Israel will feel that when it looks across the Golan Heights, it sees Iran staring back.

The Trump administration has so far seemed willing to cede Syria to Russia, but this really means ceding it to Iran. Moscow wants little more than to maintain its military bases in Syria. It will not actually provide a counterweight to Iran once the war is over. If the U.S. isn’t interested in Syria and if Russia continues to focus solely on security issues, Iran will be dominant in Damascus. If Iran is the only party invested in Syria’s future, the outcome could be catastrophic.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/29/opinion/iran-syria.html?ref=opinion&_r=0

    • The Trump administration has so far seemed willing to cede Syria to Russia, but this really means ceding it to Iran.

Obama gutted the US military, and Iran and North Korea are using this fact to pull the US forces to the (at the moment) more immediate threat of nuclear weapons launched from North Korea. Trump may be counting on Israel being able to talk Putin into safeguarding them while the US is tied down in North Korea.

As we face these two external threats we are facing the threat from the far left in the form of antifa (although some of the propaganda media papers are starting to tell the truth about them) and from the Deep State as they carry out their soft coup. I am counting on the vast majority of the US military officers to follow orders in an attack on North Korea I still think that Trump would be wise to not be in DC when he orders the attack.

    • So the Iranians and Russians will control the gas lines and the Iranians will try to destroy Israel.

      • Unless Israel can talk Putin into stopping Iran.

I wish we had enough military forces to put a lot troops in both locations. If the war lasts over a year we should have enough personnel two fight in North Korea, the Civil War in the US and In the Middle East. Never forget that the left is going to through a bitch fit and start a civil war that will require people (Federal Police) hunting for them. If we take them at their word that they are in revolt we can use the military but that has political risks.

  29. Netanyahu Raising Alarm on Iran, Again

An Israeli security official told his American counterparts in Washington on Aug. 18, “Take heed, a few days before President Donald Trump arrived for his visit in Saudi Arabia in May, the rebels in Yemen fired missiles toward Riyadh. It’s a clear message. The Iranians are already building the capacity to strike with surface-to-surface missiles across a huge belt in the region, which will strike fear among the Sunni regimes. Do you think the king of Jordan would survive this? That stability in Saudi Arabia will be maintained?”

“Whatever happens here after the war in Syria will shape the face of the Middle East, and perhaps the entire world, for generations. If the cease-fire agreement does not also include a Shiite retreat, and not just a victory over the Sunnis, a disaster will happen. You’re disturbing the incredibly delicate balance in the Middle East. The immediate price will be paid by those who live here, but in the end, the bill, once again, will be sent to you.”

An Israeli intelligence source noted, “The Iranians are the only ones who are working toward the long term. They are the only ones with a strategy in this sphere. They think and act like a world power.”

    http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2017/08/israel-us-russia-iran-syria-lebanon-netanyahu-putin-mcmaster.html

    • “The Iranians are the only ones who are working toward the long term. They are the only ones with a strategy in this sphere. They think and act like a world power.”

Iran is the only Islamic nation that is planning in the long term but Erdogan is trying to do this. Putin has a long term plan, how much of this plan involves Iran I don’t know. Europe has at the moment surrendered to the Islamic invasion although actions in Italy and Germany says they are starting to fight. Thanks to Obama the US has pulled most of our assets out of the Middle East and is being forced to move them into the Far East.

Since Putin thinks that any land that the Russian Empire once owned/controlled should return to Russian control I don’t know which side they will join once it hits the fan in the Far East.

  30. From peace activists to black-clad attackers in under a week
By Ben Bowles August 28, 2017

The headline reads “Black-clad antifa attack peaceful right wing demonstrators in Berkeley.” This summary of the events of the weekend in a park in Berkeley is measured and unemotional, as news coverage should be.

    The lede follows suit:

Their faces hidden behind black bandannas and hoodies, about a 100 anarchists and antifa — “anti-fascist” — barreled into a protest Sunday afternoon in Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park.

Jumping over plastic and concrete barriers, the group melted into a larger crowd of around 2,000 that had marched peacefully throughout the sunny afternoon for a “Rally Against Hate” gathering.

Shortly after, violence began to flare. A pepper-spray wielding Trump supporter was smacked to the ground with homemade shields. Another was attacked by five black-clad antifas, each windmilling kicks and punches into a man desperately trying to protect himself. A conservative group leader retreated for safety behind a line of riot police as marchers chucked water bottles, shot off pepper spray and screamed “fascist go home!”

  31. Israel official: If Iran expands in Syria, we’ll bomb Assad’s Palace

A senior Israeli official warned the Russian government that if Iran continues to extend its reach in Syria, Israel will bomb Syrian President Bashar Assad’s palace in Damascus, according to reports in Arab media.

Israel also warned that if serious changes do not happen in the region, Israel will make sure the ceasefire deal, reached by the United States and Russia in Astana, Kazakhstan, will be nullified.

A senior Israeli source told the Al-Jadida newspaper that no understanding was reached between the Israelis and the Russians. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did, however, make it clear to Putin that its concerns must be met or Israel will be forced to act.

    http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Israeli-Official-If-Iran-extends-in-Syrian-well-bomb-Assads-palace-503597

    • I can see where they would plan to do that, the fly in their soup is Putin wanting to become the defender of Christianity and Western Civilization. He will move in and eventually force the Sunnis in Europe to either surrender to him or run back to the Middle East. This would substitute Russian overlords for Islamic overlords and the Europeans would be in a semi better place then under Islam but they would have lost the freedom they use to have.

      • Putin is sitting back to watch. Russian Empire fantasies are waaay in the background. A distraction no one can afford right now. He’s gotta kill ragheads in Dagestan and St. Petersburg.

        The watchword is triage.

The ceasefire cemented the Iranian hold on the land bridge. Putin and MAGA spun that as ‘winning’ so we could get out. It will prove costly, an act of expedience and cowardice.

Can’t chalk it up to North Korea, either. This was in the works before the Dum Phat Gai got frisky.

Our intelligence and military advisors, up to and including the NSC and Sec of Defense, are the folks who brought us the Iran Deal. And brought Iran pallets of cash. Now Iran, Turkey, Qatar, the MB in Jordan, and Hamas are all lovey-dovey.

Israel says it’ll BOMB Assad’s palace in DAMASCUS if that’s the only way to get Putin’s attention. [It won’t, but you get the point. And it sounds better in Russian, I’m told.]

        • Thanks,. If Russia sets out the war that will be a big help, Putin can set out the fighting and then declare war just before the end to get part of China in the peace treaty. Northern China as minerals that can be sold to off set the costs of occupation. I am not saying he will do this just that there are ways for him to make not fight and still gain territory. Personally I hope he does set out the whole thing.

Another possible scenario is he sets out the war in the Far East and then waits until the US and Israel have fought close to a standstill in the Middle East and then comes in to be the savior of the US and Israel. We would welcome him because we would also be fighting in Europe and would be approaching the end of the number of men we could put in the military.

          • Putin can put the brakes on Iran in Lebanon and along the Syrian border. He can see to it that Hezbollah is contained.

We NEED him; there isn’t anybody else.
            But he wants out.

Assad and those around him speak Russian and they’re recognizable as human. But Putin’s people hate the Iranians with a passion. It’s a whole world of ugly. Yeah, diplomats sign papers and arms dealers haggle, but close work with the IRGC and Shitte militias is the bottom of the world.
            …..
…the US and Israel have fought close to a standstill in the Middle East…

            • Most Americans don’t realize that the U.S. has NEVER fought for or with Israel. It’s a canard (repeated most recently by Gen. Mattis) that “American soldiers died for Israel”. A lie.

……The U.S. military, like the State Dept, has always been Arabist. Institutional bias against the Jewish State has been manifest from Day One, 1948. Mostly because of the Cold War, oil, and weapons sales. Individual presidents and Congress have consistently sustained the “special relationship”, but those days are numbered.

            • Israel most certainly can’t survive that kind of fight !
It’s got to preempt and be quick or it’s over. It’s TINY. Doesn’t have the population or the infrastructure.

            • Even if it could, it would never be allowed to defend itself over any protracted engagement. “World opinion” will never be anything other than Enemy. I can see the UNSC pulling a Bosnian War: sanctions, bombing, “war crimes” – the works.

            • Every Muslim advance in the West increases Israel’s isolation and threatens Jews everywhere. Remember the mini-pogroms over Gaza in 2014 all over the world? Any protracted war in Israel would put Jews everywhere in danger.

            • Finally, there’s this: the Samson Option.
However fragile the physical State, Never Again is bedrock. “Post-Israel” would look like “The Day After”.
            MADD.

  32. The US’s Catch-22: Defeat ISIS, don’t empower Iran

On August 27, the mountains of Qalamoun fell quiet as a cease-fire between Hezbollah, the Lebanese army, the Syrian army and the Islamic State went into effect.

A week before, Hezbollah, the Syrians and the Lebanese army had been striking ISIS from both sides of the border in a coordinated assault. The coordination in the battle and the cease-fire that followed is another piece of evidence how closely Hezbollah is entangled within the Lebanese state and Syria.

Yet, for all the entanglement, recent reports in Reuters note that “proposed tighter US sanctions on Hezbollah have been altered enough to allay fears of major damage to Lebanon’s economy.” The fear was that sanctions could potentially have a domino effect and then extremists, like Hezbollah or Sunni jihadists, would fill the vacuum.

    http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/The-USs-Catch-22-Defeat-ISIS-dont-empower-Iran-503665
    …..
There is no “Catch-22”. Iran is riding the crest and we’re signing contracts to sell them arms.

    • World events and the Obama gutting of the US military is forcing us to temporary cede the Middle East to Russia, which means a large part of it will fall under Iranian control. We may manage to keep the Kurds free from Arabic and Iranian domination but other then that it is pretty much Russia;s sandbox to play in. Putin will probably play Erdogan against Iran but until the mess in North Korea and the Second American Civil war are over we don;’t have much leverage in the Middle East.

  34. Antifa: The New Ku Klux Klan

Shocker: The Left turns again to hooded agents of violence.

Over at Conservative Review a while back, in a column titled “The Left’s Violent DNA,” I noted the following after the shooting of Congressman Steve Scalise:

    Question:

What do the Ku Klux Klan, the labor movement, Students for a Democratic Society, the Weathermen, Occupy Wall Street, and congressional shooter James T. Hodgkinson have in common?

Answer: They all emerged from the murky depths of leftist politics. And all have a history of violence associated with their politics.”

  35. ACORN Sues California To Allow More Illegals To Vote
Bill Clinton’s Motor-Voter law has made massive voter fraud possible.

An ACORN offshoot and other left-wing pressure groups are suing California in federal court because the state hasn’t made it easy enough for Democrats to flood voter rolls with illegal aliens and foreign nationals who aren’t legally eligible to vote.

Throughout the years Mickey Mouse, Mary Poppins, and celebrities living and dead were registered to vote because now-defunct ACORN and its allied groups were allowed to pollute the voter rolls.

The ACORN successor group known as ACCE Institute, League of Women Voters of California, California Common Cause, and the National Council of La Raza want to compel the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to incorporate voter registration material into the forms needed to apply for or renew a driver’s license or state identification card, or submit a change of address. They claim the DMV is violating the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), popularly called “Motor-Voter,” by asking the more than a million California residents who renew by mail every year to fill out a separate voter registration form.

Other election fraud-promoting state policies already exist in the Golden State, which is a haven for illegal aliens and illegal voting.
