    Oikophobia

    (See also: domatophobia and ecophobia)

From the link: In psychiatry, oikophobia (synonymous with domatophobia and ecophobia) is an aversion to home surroundings. It can also be used more generally to mean an abnormal fear (a phobia) of the home, or of the contents of a house (“fear of household appliances, equipment, bathtubs, household chemicals, and other common objects in the home”). The term derives from the Greek words oikos, meaning household, house, or family, and phobia, meaning “fear”.

In 1808 the poet and essayist Robert Southey used the word to describe a desire (particularly by the English) to leave home and travel. Southey’s usage as a synonym for wanderlust was picked up by other nineteenth century writers.

The term has also been used in political contexts to refer critically to political ideologies that repudiate one’s own culture and laud others. The first such usage was by Roger Scruton in a 2004 book.
    ——————————

Hokay … so, what about that closing sentence? As in; “political ideologies that repudiate one’s own culture and laud others”.

Any lack of listing in the DSM-5 be damned. The above-cited (third) definition of Oikophobia so closely parallels every last root of modern “virtue signaling”, not to mention its antecedent conjoined triplets of, “holier than thou”, “halo polishing”, and “moral superiority”, to where the parallels become downright alarming.

Again, “repudiate one’s own culture and laud others”? How precisely does that describe the behavior being exhibited by Antifa, Angela Merkel, and Hillary Clinton (tout la même chose), plus a host of other suicidal “willkommenskultur” lunatics that violently struggle to drown all Western nations in an Islamic and Third World psycho-spiritual cesspit (c’est encore la même chose)?

Unfortunately, there is another phobia which militates against the adoption of such a semi-complicated term as Oikophobia, and that’s Hellenologophobia.
    ——————————

From the link: We’ve all heard the phrase, “It’s all Greek to me.” This cliche is designed to indicate that what we are reading or what someone is saying is about as useful as if they were speaking another language. When someone shares a concept or story that we don’t understand it can be an inconvenience or even an annoyance, but most will not become overly anxious about the dialogue. For others there can be a fear and even a sense of paranoia about what they may consider an insider’s language that prevents them from being able to understand. This fear is known as Hellenologophobia.

It really can seem as if the use of Greek or scientific language might require significant skills to master. The use of Greek and scientific symbols can take time to understand. However, for the person with the fear it can be a frustration with a variety of sources.
    ——————————

I would be willing to wager that one major contributor to Hellenologophobia and the concomitant “frustration with a variety of sources” is sheer STUPIDITY. Ignorance and low IQ can get in line.

    Next up: Leukophobia!

PS: If you enjoyed this bit of linguistic frippery, please comment accordingly in order that I might feel compelled to make this (with Eeyore’s gracious assent) a regular feature.

    • “The Founding Fathers build their case on the value of individual freedom.

The epistemological argument then, they employed, was flawed.

The Declaration of Independence states that “we hold these truths to be self evident,” and there is nothing self evident about them.

But self evident or not, the value of individual freedom is enduring, and having been exposed to totalitarian regimes, I’m passionately devoted to it.
      And I’m not alone.

Reverting to the Founding Fathers, has another great advantage, it allows a discussion of power-relations. The Constitution protected against tyranny by division of powers. The division of powers recognises that there are competing interests and different interpretations of reality in society which need to be reconciled by a political process. The Constitutional checks and balances, preclude the formation of absolute power that could claim to be possession of the ultimate truth.
The Constitution established a mechanism where different branches of government interact and control each other.

      But that is not sufficient.

Open Society can prevail only when people can speak truth-to-power. It needs the rule of law that guarantees the freedom of speech and press, freedom of association and assembly and other rights and freedoms.

The power of citizens to defend themselves against the absolute power of the State and to make use of the judicial branch for such defense.
That’s how the Founding Fathers created an open society.

Let me spell out my conclusion, more clearly.

Open Society is a desirable form of social organization both as a means to an end, and as an end in itself. It enables a society to understand the problems confronting it, and to deal with them more successfully than other forms of social organisations, provided, it give presence over the cognitive over the manipulative function, and the people are willing to confront harsh realities.
In other words, the instrumental values of democracy, is conditional on the qualities of the Electorate. And the current performance of American Democracy doesn’t live up to its past achievements. We can’t rely on the inherent superiority of the American Model and need to prove ourselves anew.

But quite apart from its instrumental value, Open Society also has an intrinsic value, namely, the freedom of the individual which applies whether Open Society flourishes or not. For instance, it applied to the Soviet Union.

Of course, the freedom of the individual, must be made compatible with the Public Interest and the freedom of other individuals. Moreover, the intrinsic value of individual freedom falls short of being self evident. For instant, it is not generally recognized in China where the interests of the Collective take precedence over the interests of the individual. This was the clear message of the opening ceremony of the Olympic games. It showed that by doing exactly what they are told and exactly at the right time a large collection of individuals can produce a superb spectacle. The changing power relations between the United States and China, the value of individual freedom is likely to assume increasing importance in the immediate future. And I will address that subject in my last lecture.”

“As I probed deeper, I started to question my own conceptual framework. I discovered a flaw in the concept of open society. Popper was mainly concerned with the problems of understanding
of reality. He put forward an epistemological rather than a political argument in favor of open society. He argued that and I quote “only democracy provides an institutional framework that
permits reform without violence, and so the use of reason in politics matters.”

But his approach was based on a hidden assumption, namely, that the main purpose of thinking is to gain a better understanding of reality. And that was not necessarily the case. The manipulative function could take precedence over the cognitive function. Indeed, in a democracy, the primary
objective of politicians is to get elected and stay in power.

This rather obvious insight raised some additional questions about the concept of open society. How could Popper take it for granted that free political discourse is aimed at understanding reality? And even more intriguingly, how could I, who gave the manipulative function pride of
place in the concept of reflexivity, follow him so blindly?”

        • “Let me explain more precisely what I mean by a fertile fallacy. We are capable of acquiring
knowledge, but we can never have enough knowledge to allow us to base all our decisions on
knowledge. It follows that if a piece of knowledge has proved useful we are liable to over-exploit it and extend it to areas where it no longer applies, so that it becomes a fallacy.

That is what happened to the Enlightenment. The dichotomy between reason and reality worked very well for the study of natural phenomena but it was misleading in the study of human affairs. Fertile fallacies are the equivalent of bubbles in financial markets.

The Enlightenment fallacy is deeply rooted in our view of the world. It led Karl Popper to
proclaim that the same standards and criteria applied in both the natural and the social sciences, and it led economic theory to model itself on Newtonian physics. Neither Popper’s elegant model of scientific method nor economic theory recognized reflexivity. What is worse, even I, who discovered-or invented-reflexivity in financial markets, failed to recognize that Popper’s concept of open society was based on the hidden assumption that the cognitive function takes precedence over the manipulative function-that we are pursuing the truth and not simply trying to manipulate people into believing what we want them to believe.”

        • So, yet again, we are back to the two brain hemispheres, the ‘male’ and the ‘female’, reason and manipulation.

In Isolation, they are Islam and Socialism. The first simply because of their male gender superiority, the second simply because of their female gender superiority. (In Collisions of Equality, their offspring openly vacillate between the two).

Islamic Logic is a farce to behold. And Socialism an infinitely broken home.

“”Jesus saw some little ones nursing. He said to his disciples, “These little ones who are nursing resemble is those who enter the kingdom.” They said to him, “So shall we enter the kingdom by being little ones?”

Jesus said to them, “When you make the two one and make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside and the above like the below, and that you might make the male and the female be one and the same, so that the male might not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye and a hand in place of a hand and a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image – then you will enter [the kingdom].””

“To sum up: the world is facing a choice between two fundamentally different forms of
organization. We may label them international capitalism and state capitalism.

The former, represented by the United States, has broken down and the latter, represented by China, is in the ascendant.

The path of least resistance leads to the gradual disintegration of the international financial system as we know it.

Yet a system of bilateral relations is liable to generate conflicts between states. A new multilateral system based on sounder principles needs to be invented.

That would serve the best interests of both the United States and China and of course the rest of the world.”

“Later he fled Hungary for England and studied philosophy at the London School of Economics under Karl Popper while working as a railway porter and night-club waiter.”

“After graduating, Soros wrote ‘to every managing director in every merchant bank in London’ asking for an interview but got ‘just one or two replies”

“Soros describes this period as the ‘low point’ of his life as he was humiliated at job interviews. He had to take up work as a salesman for a fancy-goods wholesaler.”

“Soros pledged $50 million for the Institute of New Economic Thinking, which aims to ‘provoke new economic thinking,’ after the 2008 financial crisis”

“In recent years, Soros has turned toward philanthropy in support of international refugees and efforts to promote an ‘Open society’ across the globe.”

    • “NEW YORK – Well before Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, I sent a holiday greeting to my friends that read: “These times are not business as usual. Wishing you the best in a troubled world.” Now I feel the need to share this message with the rest of the world. But before I do, I must tell you who I am and what I stand for.
I am an 86-year-old Hungarian Jew who became a US citizen after the end of World War II. I learned at an early age how important it is what kind of political regime prevails. The formative experience of my life was the occupation of Hungary by Hitler’s Germany in 1944. I probably would have perished had my father not understood the gravity of the situation. He arranged false identities for his family and for many other Jews; with his help, most survived.

I escaped from Hungary, by then under Communist rule, to England. As a student at the London School of Economics, I came under the influence of the philosopher Karl Popper, and I developed my own philosophy, built on the twin pillars of fallibility and reflexivity. I distinguished between two kinds of political regimes: those in which people elected their leaders, who were then supposed to look after the interests of the electorate, and others where the rulers sought to manipulate their subjects to serve the rulers’ interests. Under Popper’s influence, I called the first kind of society open, the second, closed.

The classification is too simplistic. There are many degrees and variations throughout history, from well-functioning models to failed states, and many different levels of government in any particular situation. Even so, I find the distinction between the two regime types useful. I became an active promoter of the former and opponent of the latter.

The difference is, Soros said he saw Obama (and John Kerry), as genuine leaders, two ‘business as usual’ kind of guys; while the deplorables saw Trump as their genuine protector of personal accountability.

It reminded me of the common pregnant African woman arriving in the West to meet a friend who does not turn up and being shocked that they simply cannot turn around and buy ticket home because they were dumped penniless, by their cruel partners.

Instead of the government purchasing that return ticket, (how did immigration let her pass through without it?), they house her, feed her, medically support her, and charities help her apply for Residence. Uneducated, they will train her

However, no thought is given to the knock-on effect of reduced opportunities for the Indigenous population. These always last in the queue.

His mentality to Feed The World, has meant the rape in front of husbands. For the receivers of free things have learned to be entitled.

A third lecture therefore, needs to come from Soros: False Reason, Manipulation and Identity Politics.

Then he may see Obama and John Kerry. Those who did not grow up through life unscathed.

Speaking on the Al-Jazeera network’s “Opposite Direction” talk show on July 11, Libyan expat Dr. Hadi Shalouf, a former member of the ICC, said that the Arab peoples are not used to democracy and are not ready for it. The other guest on the show, Syrian journalist Khalil Al-Miqdad, said that many of the Arab rulers had foreign roots and that the American invasion of Iraq was a conspiracy.

“According to the Torah, Judaism, and the clash of civilizations, Israel can only survive if Iraq ceases to exist,” he said. Dr. Shalouf countered that the problem lies with the Arab peoples and that the internal crises plaguing the Arab world were local, not foreign, products. “We are living in the Dark Ages,” he said. “Our peoples need a long period of time in order to awaken from their

  4. Obama chose dishonor, and Israel will have war

The nuclear agreement—misleadingly presented to the world as the lesser of evils—allowed Iran to grow rich and expand its influence in the region. Now, Tehran is taking over Syria, and the distant enemy is coming closer to Israel.

Iran is taking over Syria. The distant enemy is coming closer. The US is out of the picture. Those who put their trust in the new world sheriff, Donald Trump, have to admit he appears to be far more concerned with the American media than the Iranian imperialism. That is who he is.

The world’s sheriff is not whoever has more power—the United States has a lot more—but whoever uses the power he has.

Netanyahu had to go to Vladimir Putin this week again for another round of talks with the Russian leader during his vacation in Sochi. It’s not clear whether Putin is going to stop the Iranian threat. It is clear, however, that he’s the only one there is any point in talking to.

    • Right now the US doesn’t have military enough to face off with two foes at the same time and the US has 1) North Korea (who may be prepping for a new nuclear test link in a separate post further down) 2) Iran who is also facing Israel (who can hopefully get help from Putin. 3) The American left who is opposing everything Trump does hoping to create a crisis that will allow them to seize power.

The entire world is paying the price for the US people allowing the Dems to put Obama in the Oval Office for 8 years. Politics is the art of the possible and we are facing massive problems with limited resources.

  5. The Washington comPost editorial page slams Bibi and Trump.
Same old, same old. Right? No:

“…Israel can afford Bibi far less right now than the United States can the unfit, out-of-control leader it has in Trump. The United States has more history to draw on and more resilient systems. Israel, for all its successes, is still an evolving idea in a hostile region. The country is dependent not on the strengths of democracy but on its selective application of it, in the suppression of its majority population in order to survive.”

=> 1- Israel is a state, not an idea. you arrogant alpha-hotel
=> 2- Media watchdog, Honest Reporting, sets the record straight:

“What is Israel’s “majority population” and is Israel suppressing it in order to survive?
According to Israeli population statistics for 2017, the Jewish population makes up 6,484,000 (74.7%); 1,808,000 (20.8%) are Arabs; and, those identified as “others” (non-Arab Christians, Baha’i, etc) make up 4.5% of the population (388,000 people).

So Israel’s majority population is clearly Jewish and it would be virtually impossible to argue that they are being suppressed. As for the other approximately 25% of the population, they are also equal under Israeli law, enjoying the civil, humanitarian and political rights that Israeli democracy bestows on all of its citizens.

To be clear, the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza are not Israeli citizens and are not counted in Israeli population statistics.

As for the “selective application” of democracy, it is the Palestinians living under the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza who have been denied a democratic vote for their leadership, as President Mahmoud Abbas is currently in the twelfth year of a four year term while legislative elections were last held in 2006.

So what exactly is Rothkopf critical of? The state of Israeli democracy? Israeli policy towards the Palestinians? Either way, his throwaway line is ill-thought out, grossly inaccurate and a slur on Israel.

Mr. “Amazon” Bezos now owns it. He also has the contract for Cloud storage of CIA data. And the comPost is the official mouthpiece for the deeply corrupt CIA.

Bezos recently bought the Whole Foods chain, paying three times its market value. (Why would he do that?) Now he’s offering free Amazon Prime Service to food-stamp recipients. I guess they’ll shop Whole Foods now.

    All Roads Lead to Jihad

    Cambrils, Spain.

The road to September 11 wended its way through this Spanish town where Mohammed Atta, the lead hijacker, met up with Ramzi bin al-Shibh, the former refugee to Germany and current Gitmo inmate, who had been serving as Osama bin Laden’s point man for the attacks that would kill thousands.

The hotel where Atta and Osama’s man met is a few blocks away from where the Muslim terrorists climbed out of their crashed car, drawing knives, axes and machetes, before a police officer working overtime to earn extra money shot most of them dead on the spot outside the Club Nautic.

The distance between where Atta was planning 9/11 and the latest terror attack in Spain is 110 meters. Stroll past a pub, a hair salon and a real estate agency in this seaside resort town and you’re there.

“We believe it is unprofessional and distracting for a teacher to be so openly displaying their political views in an unbiased and socially neutral public setting,” the petition states.

The petition further notes that “subjecting or explicitly exposing students from diverse political backgrounds to political views differing from theirs can make students uncomfortable and distract them.”

Does that sound like a familiar argument?

  9. 5-YEAR-OLD FORCED TO LIVE WITH CARER WHO ‘WORE NIQAB, TOOK AWAY CRUCIFIX, MADE HER LEARN ARABIC’

In a report seen by The Times, girl was apparently so distressed after the experience that she cried and begged authorities not to take her back there as the carer didn’t speak English.

The girl was also apparently barred from eating bacon and recently told her mother that “Christmas and Easter are stupid” and “European women are stupid and alcoholic”.

A friend of the family has said that: “This is a 5-year-old white girl. She was born in this country, speaks English as her first language, loves football, holds a British passport and was christened in a church.

“She’s already suffered the huge trauma of being forcibly separated from her family. She needs surroundings in which she’ll feel secure and loved. Instead, she’s trapped in a world where everything feels foreign and unfamiliar. That’s really scary for a young child.”

This horrific situation exposes the total failure of multiculturalism. For a young English girl to now be in surroundings where she’s been taught hardline Muslim values and with carers who don’t even speak the language is a shocking indictment not just of the care system, but of the complete lack of integration in areas like Tower Hamlets.

  11. Trump expected to lift ban on military gear to local police forces

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is preparing to lift a controversial ban on the transfer of some surplus military equipment to police departments whose battlefield-style response to rioting in a St. Louis suburb three years ago prompted a halt to the program.

The new plan, outlined in documents obtained by USA TODAY, would roll back an Obama administration executive order that blocked armored vehicles, large-caliber weapons, ammunition and other heavy equipment from being re-purposed from foreign battlefields to America’s streets.

On Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is scheduled to address the annual meeting of the Fraternal Order of Police, the nation’s largest police union, and he may outline the program changes there.

Richard: Obama and company refused to cut taxes to stimulate the economy so they started pumping printing press money into the economy to start inflation making it look like hte economy was recovering. This also caused the various bubbles that caused the 08 crash to reimflate, one of these was the hedge funds, The hedge funds are once again over valued and in danger of collapsing. This is one of the major problems with fiat currencies, it allows the Socialist Governments to make incredibly stupid economic decisions and causes major damage to all but the largest investors. Combine this with the Day Traders who are buying and selling stocks strictly on the raise or fall of the stock price and not on the soundness of the company issuing the stock. Then add in the way Obama and Comp[any encouraged the Banks that we all use to get into the investment game you have a recipe for a major disaster. My big worry is that the Dems on the Dems will cause a crash to destroy Donald Trump.

Can the feds, Wall Street prevent another market plunge?

LONDON—The synthetic CDO, a villain of the global financial crisis, is back.

A decade ago, investors’ bad bets on collateralized debt obligations helped fuel the crisis. Billed as safe, they turned out to be anything but. Now, more investors are returning to CDOs—and so are concerns that excess is seeping into the aging bull market.

In the U.S., the CDO market sunk steadily in the years after the financial crisis but has been fairly flat since 2014. In Europe, the total size of market is now rising again—up 5.6% annually in the first quarter of the year and 14.4% in the last quarter of 2016, according to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

  13. The Dogs of War Are in High Demand
After sending hundreds of canines to post Sept. 11 battlefields, the Pentagon is buying robot pooches to help train medics.
    By Kyle Stock

War is hell for almost everyone who gets near it. This includes animals—especially the hundreds of dogs the U.S. military has sent to serve alongside soldiers in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere since Sept. 11. Now, the Pentagon is taking steps to make sure more of them come home.

The armed services have had dogs since about day one. At the moment, roughly 1,600 Military War Dogs (MWDs) are either in the field or helping recuperating veterans. That’s approximately one dog for every three U.S. soldiers currently in Afghanistan.

These animals are, however, an increasingly precious resource. With terrorists targeting public transportation and tourist sites all over the world, global demand for bomb-sniffing dogs has surged. Canines with finely trained noses now fetch $25,000 and up on the open market, where border patrol units, the State Department, and private security firms go for canine talent. Even the war on bedbugs scoops up some of the best noses in the business. And that’s just U.S. demand.

So, out of necessity, the Department of Defense is buying up lifelike c

‘We Are Living Through a Battle for the Soul of This Nation’

The former vice president calls on Americans to do what President Trump has not.

In January of 2009, I stood waiting in Wilmington, Delaware, for a train carrying the first African American elected president of the United States. I was there to join him as vice president on the way to a historic Inauguration. It was a moment of extraordinary hope for our nation—but I couldn’t help thinking about a darker time years before at that very site.

My mind’s eye drifted back to 1968. I could see the flames burning Wilmington, the violence erupting on the news of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, the federal troops taking over my city.

I was living history—and reliving it—at the same time. And the images racing through my mind were a vivid demonstration that when it comes to race in America, hope doesn’t travel alone. It’s shadowed by a long trail of violence and hate.

They have the support of the Propaganda media but so far not the people.

Threats of political violence rise in polarized Trump era

Escalating tensions this summer have stepped up fears about political violence.

Law enforcement officials, college campuses and cities around the country are bracing for a new wave of alt-right rallies in the weeks and months to come, with parties on both sides of the debate over Confederate statues and monuments prepared for standoffs.

At the center of it all is President Trump, whose heated rhetoric has angered opponents while firing up his supporters, magnifying the sense that the political divide in the country is growing wider.

“When there seems to be no room for compromise and no appetite for listening to the other side, the potential for violence is higher,” said Richard Cohen, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center. “And the Confederate monuments are the obvious flashpoint.”

An army of anarchists in black clothing and masks routed a small group of right-wing demonstrators who had gathered in a Berkeley park Sunday to rail against the city’s famed progressive politics, driving them out — sometimes violently — while overwhelming a huge contingent of police officers.

Hundreds of officers tried to maintain calm in and around Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park before the 1 p.m. “No to Marxism in Berkeley” rally, putting up barricades, searching bags and confiscating sticks, masks, pepper spray and even water bottles. The goal was to head off the type of clashes that sprang from similar rallies in the city earlier this year.

The arrest charges in the skirmishes at Civic Center Park were various but included assault and violating a prohibition on wearing masks, KCRA reported.

Several thousand joined in the left-wing ‘Rally Against Hate’, intended as a counter-protest to the right-wing ‘No To Marxism In America Event’, which was officially cancelled after organizers said they had concerns of violence.

“Islamic State militants and their families began to evacuate on Monday from a border area between Lebanon and Syria as part of a negotiated deal to end the group’s presence there, Lebanese and Syrian media reported.

An unidentified number of militants and their families headed in buses toward a town held by the extremist group in eastern Syria, near the border with Iraq.

The transfer comes nearly a week after Lebanon launched a military campaign to drive IS from the rugged mountainous area along its border with Syria.

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/08/28/eu-laws-block-deportation-terror-mastermind-abdelbaki-es-satty/

“European Union law was used to prevent the Spanish government deporting Catalonia terror mastermind imam Abdelbaki Es Satty, because a judge determined he did not pose a “serious threat to national security”.

Two EU Council Directives – numbers 2003/109/EC and 2001/40/EC – which say member states can only deport non-EU nationals who pose a “serious and present threat to public order or national security and safety”, were used by Judge Pablo de la Rubia to block Es Satty’s deportation, reports MailOnline.

The Spanish government had tried to deport the imam in 2014 after he had served his sentence in prison, where it is believed he was radicalised, for drug smuggling, and block the Moroccan national from entering the country for five years.

Senior government official David Barelles wrote on the order that the Islamist posed “a real threat which is sufficiently serious to justify his expulsion”.

But the judge used the EU laws, asserting Es Satty was not a threat, and said the Islamist was making attempts to “integrate” into Spanish society.

Judge De la Rubia wrote: “Although the conduct of the accused is serious, there is only one offence, which is old, and it is claimed he has laid down employment roots in Spain, which demonstrate his efforts at integration into Spanish society.”

He added that it would be “disproportionate” to deport the Islamist.

After successfully appealing his deportation, the drug dealer applied for asylum, ultimately allowing him to travel freely throughout the EU’s borderless Schengen Zone, where he was known to have travelled to the EU capital in Brussels, Belgium, shortly before the terror bombings there in 2016…”

“UK public broadcaster Channel 4 has featured a self-described Islamist who endorses violent militancy and brands white people and Israelis “parasites” as an example of “Muslim women fighting back by rejecting stereotypes”.

“Like many people, they don’t feel like their voices are represented in the mainstream,” said Baig.

This is perhaps unsurprising, considering Chan told Baig point blank that, “I don’t wanna represented in British society. I don’t think representation is a liberation.”

“The EU is reluctant to take into account Poland’s arguments on the bloc’s migrant relocation system, country’s Interior Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, Poland demanded the discontinuation of the European Commission’s infringement procedure, which was launched in June over the country’s non-compliance with migrants relocation scheme, and warned that it was ready to defend its position in the European Court of Justice. In response, Brussels said that it would not halt the procedure.

“The European Commission failed to respond to numerous arguments put forward by Poland in its previous letters. This could indicate a dogmatic approach to the Commission’s previous position on, among others, the refugee relocation mechanism … The Commission did not take into account Poland’s arguments. The document indicated systemic weaknesses in the mechanism of implementing the decision on relocation,” Blaszczak said in a statement.

The Polish minister pointed out that EU measures made it impossible for the country to verify the credibility of migrant candidates.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – British officials arrive in Brussels on Monday hoping to push the EU towards talks about post-Brexit ties, which the bloc refuses to launch until there is a deal on London’s exit bill and other “divorce” questions.

Russia has been under international scrutiny over North Korea because it has taken a more doveish approach to Pyongyang than Washington, and Russian trade with North Korea increased sharply at the start of this year.

The 19-year-old gave detectives the snap after they were called to the scene near the party strip of Punta Ballena.

A spokesman for the Civil Guard confirmed this morning/yesterday morning they had yet to make any arrests.

Local reports have identified the woman is 19.

It is not clear if she was on holiday in Magaluf or was living and working in the area.

Police were called around 1am on Saturday.

The woman was crying and told officers she agreed to go to the beach with a male friend she knew from nights out in Punta Ballena but was gang-raped by him and two uninvited pals of his.

  34. Trump’s pardon of Arpaio IS a ‘rule of law’ event, unlike most immigration enforcement since 1965
    By J.E. Dyer August 28, 2017

It has been laughable to see the left erupt in sanctimonious fury over Donald Trump’s pardon of former Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The theme of the eruption is that the presidential pardon violates the rule of law principle. Anyone who endorses the pardon, we are told, forfeits his good standing with the Rule of Law Brigade, and Republicans should be ashamed of themselves.

Of course, a presidential pardon is, in every sense, a rule of law action. The president is empowered by the U.S. Constitution to issue pardons. I thought it was unconscionable of Barack Obama to commute the sentence of FALN terrorist and murderer Oscar Lopez-Rivera, but I wouldn’t pretend he was violating the rule of law by doing it.

    • Pay close attention to this one, she is talking about a subject (the rule of law and the failure of the Government Officials to enforce the laws equally). As she points out near the end of the article this failure has lead many people of good will to question how long the rule of law can survive this unequal enforcement. This question is one of the reasons that Donald Trump was elected and one of the reasons that the ordinary people have been arming themselves at a rate no nations has ever seen before.

All of our nations are experiencing a mass migration problem that has been caused by the leftist politicians and their attempts at social engineering. they are attempting to force us into behaving and believing in ways that our and others historical examples show don’t work. They are destroying Western Civilization in as attempt to create a socialist one world government that will in their minds establish utopia. One of the weapons they are using to try and shame us into agreeing to national and civilizational suicide. One of the weapons they are using is the idea of collective and inherited guilt. This idea is one of many tactics/weapons that they have taken from Nazi Germany. Now that the man that the People chose to lead the fight against the destruction of the US has pardoned a man that was convicted (by a left wing activist Judge) the left is predictibly screaming about the destruction of the rule of law.

As is usual the Leftists and their Propaganda Media are setting in an echo chamber and screaming about how evil a Police Officers is when he enforces the laws that are on the books.

I am bewildered by the Vitenzi Rend medal. I have just spent a bit of time trying to understand it and I don’t…
If Gorka is not an anti-semitic Nazi sympathiser then what is the Vitenzi Rend?
Did the org somehow switch at some point or, were they never Nazi sympathizers? It is very difficult to get an understanding with all the political noise.
I support Seb Gorka because he is unabashedly against political Islam. But why would he wear that medal to a formal occasion when it would bring such vitriol?
I googled it and also went to duckduckgo trying to get some kind of support for Gorka. I didn’t find any.
Cross Ware, you are our “man on the ground.” Please explain this to me.

    • BREITBART – Hamas-Linked Council on American-Islamic Relations Welcomes Resignation of Dr. Seb Gorka

The controversy-ridden Council on American-Islamic Relations has welcomed the resignation of Dr. Sebastian Gorka from the White House.

The group — which has campaigned for the dismissal of Dr. Gorka from the beginning of the Trump administration — stated:

“We welcome the resignation of Sebastian Gorka as a presidential adviser… His extremist and Islamophobic views, and his reported past and current associations with racist and anti-Semitic groups, should have disqualified him from any government position.”

The “anti-Semitic” talking point has been widely circulated since Dr. Gorka first took the job as Deputy Assistant to the President in January, but has been widely debunked, with even CNN being forced to concede the network “has found no evidence Gorka holds anti-Semitic views”.

Meanwhile, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) was name as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial and Hamas financing case that resulted in the FBI discontinuing its working relationship with the organization. In 2009, a federal judge concluded that the government had found “ample evidence” to link CAIR with Hamas.

CAIR has also been declared a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates.

[…]Meanwhile, CAIR appears to have gone to bat for H.R. McMaster — broadly viewed as one of the White House globalists behind the purge of populist, nationalist staffers.

  36. Angela Merkel tells asylum seekers not to take holidays in their country of origin

Harsher measures should be taken against asylum seekers if they take a holiday in their country of origin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in an interview, in which she also said she had no regrets over her open-door refugee policy.

“Taking holidays in the country in which you are being persecuted is not on,” she said in an interview with Welt am Sonntag, adding that it could be a reason to re-examine an asylum case.

While there is no official data on asylum seekers returning to their home countries on “holiday”, the issue has been the focus of media reports in Germany.

Newspaper Die Welt first reported last year that it had uncovered cases of recognised asylum seekers who travelled to countries such as Syria and Afghanistan for a short time before returning to Germany. Martin Retsch, from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), said the practice was not “widespread”.

The issue is, however, indicative of the tensions that have built in Germany as a result of the influx of refugees.

Mrs Merkel said she has no regrets over her refugee policy, which saw Germany controversially open its doors to hundreds of thousands of refugees two years ago, despite the deep rifts the decision caused in her party.

  37. Omar Khadr wants unsupervised contact with his pro-al-Qaida sister, more freedom to travel

TORONTO — Former Guantanamo Bay detainee Omar Khadr returns to court this week to ask that his bail conditions be eased, including allowing him unfettered contact with his controversial older sister, more freedom to move around Canada, and unrestricted internet access.

In support of his request, Khadr notes the conditions originally imposed two years ago were necessary as a graduated integration plan following his 13 years in American and Canadian custody. No issues have arisen since his release and the various restrictions have been revised several times — most recently in May last year, he says.

Currently, Khadr, 30, can only have contact with his sister Zaynab if one of his lawyers or bail supervisor is present. The condition is no longer necessary, he says.

“I am now an adult and I think independently,” he says in an affidavit. “Even if the members of my family were to wish to influence my religious or other views, they would not be able to control or influence me in any negative manner.”

Zaynab Khadr, 37, who recently had a fourth child in Egypt, according to court filings obtained by The Canadian Press, was detained in Turkey a year ago for an expired visa. She and her fourth husband subsequently moved to Malaysia but are now said to be living in Sudan and planning to visit Canada.

“I would like to be able to spend time with her and the rest of our family when she is here,” Omar Khadr states. “As far as I am aware, Zaynab is not involved in any criminal activities and is frequently in contact with the Canadian embassy in order to ensure that her paperwork is up to date.”

Zaynab Khadr, who was born in Ottawa, was at one point unable to get a Canadian passport after frequently reporting hers lost. She was also subject to an RCMP investigation in 2005 but faced no charges. Her third husband, Canadian Joshua Boyle, is reportedly still a Taliban hostage along with his American wife and children in Afghanistan. In 2008, she went on a hunger strike on Parliament Hill to draw attention to her brother’s plight as an American captive in Guantanamo Bay.

Several years ago, she and her mother infuriated many Canadians by expressing pro-al-Qaida views. Omar Khadr told The Canadian Press last month that he saw no point in decrying their views.

“I’m not excusing what they said. I’m not justifying what they said,” Khadr said. “They were going through a hard time. They said things out of anger or frustration.”

Khadr, who recently married, says a college in Red Deer, Alta., about a half hour from where he spent time in maximum security after his return from Guantanamo Bay, has accepted him into its nursing program. He says he plans to leave his Edmonton apartment at the end of September and find new accommodation.

In another bail-variation request the court in Edmonton will consider on Thursday, Khadr asks for an end to a condition that he provide his supervisor notice about his travel plans within Alberta, and that he obtain permission to travel outside the province. Requiring him to remain in Canada would be sufficient, the documents state. He also wants restrictions on accessing computers or the internet lifted.

In May 2015, Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench Justice June Ross granted Khadr bail pending appeal of his conviction by a widely maligned U.S. military commission for five purported war crimes. The appeal in the States has stalled through circumstances outside his control and nothing has changed since his release, his filing says.

Khadr found himself at the centre of a fierce political firestorm amid word last month that the Canadian government, which apologized to him for breaching his rights, had paid him $10.5 million in compensation. He says he just wants to get on with his life.

“I wish to become independent and to put my legal matters behind me,” he says in his affidavit. “I am a law-abiding citizen and I wish to live free of court-imposed conditions.”

American soldiers captured a badly wounded Khadr, then 15 years old, in July 2002 following a fierce assault on a compound in Afghanistan in which a U.S. special forces soldier was killed. Khadr later said he pleaded guilty before the commission to throwing the deadly grenade as a way out of American detention. He returned to Canada in 2012 to serve out the rest of the eight-year sentence he was given.

  38. D.C. Council member wants police to investigate ‘xenophobic’ pro-Trump flyers
By LU Staff August 27, 2017

A Washington, D.C. council member urged his constituents Friday to report “xenophobic” flyers declaring “build the wall” to the police department.

Residents from Ward 4 have said that posters focused on illegal immigration and building the wall have cropped up around the area, the DCist reports. Council member Brandon Todd has told residents to call 911 if they are handed one of the flyers.

“Xenophobic and hostile flyers in Ward 4 will not be tolerated,” Todd wrote in a Facebook post. “All residents, regardless of background, deserve to feel safe in their community. If you receive one of these hateful flyers, call the Metropolitan Police Dept. at 911 immediately. I will remain in close contact with 4D Commander and Police Chief. Ward 4 must and will remain welcoming to all.”

One of the posters features Supreme Court Justice Ruth Ginsburg with “Even RBG backs the ban. Build the wall,” emblazoned over her face, while another urges people to “Report illegal aliens to DHS or ICE” and tells the story of a man who allegedly sexually assaulted an elderly woman after being deported more than 20 times. Yet another has Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s face on the still image from “Debbie Does Dallas,” a 70’s porn movie. This poster features the phrase “Debbie Does Pakistan.”

  39. Turkey: Erdogan welcomes Abbas to Ankara

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas in Ankara, Monday.

Abbas arrived to the Presidential Palace in the Turkish capital and was greeted by Erdogan, who preceded to lead the Palestinian leader inside the building for bilateral talks. The pair is expected to discuss the situation regarding East Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, among other topics.

  40. Ontario family calls for justice after allegations of elder abuse

A Richmond Hill family is sharing their story and say they hope it will lead to a public outcry and justice for their loved one.

They allege the family’s 90-year-old matriarch was sexually assaulted inside a Richmond Hill hospital and claimed it was covered up.

Sonja Shirdan was admitted to Mackenzie Health for pneumonia in September 2015. Her family, who said she was frail and struggling to survive, would visit her daily and said her health was slowly improving; until one day when they noticed something wasn’t right.

“She was holding her fists over her chest part of the time, over her crotch part of the time, clenching her teeth and just having a very frightened, angry look on her face. Her bottom lip was bruised, all shades of blue. Her arms were battered and bruised.”

The Shirdan family said they immediately had her discharged from the hospital and they took her back to the nursing home. Two months later, they got a call from the hospital asking them to meet with management at Mackenzie Health.

“One of the nurses walked in and opened the drape around the bed and saw him — him being a hospital PSW who is responsible for bathing and changing patients — doing ungodly things to my grandmother,” Ran said, recalling what officials said.

“They said it was horrifying and horrible, we won’t tell you more… I was sitting there and I said, ‘What did police do?’ and they said, ‘We didn’t call the police, we fired him,’” Eva Shirdan, Sonja’s daughter, said.

York Regional Police told Global News the hospital did not report the alleged assault to officers and that the complaint came from the family of another victim.

Police said the investigation revealed the alleged perpetrator, 53-year-old Soja Zadeh, who is also known under the name Shojaadin Mohammad-Zadeh, went to work at a nursing home in Aurora where he allegedly assaulted two other seniors. He was accused of sexually assaulting several others and faced more than a dozen charges.

Zadeh walked away with a plea deal. He received three-years probation after pleading guilty to just one assault charge. The family said they were told by prosecutors there was little chance of conviction. He now lives in Newmarket with his wife and children.

In a statement to Global News, Mackenzie Health officials said the previous policy was to report allegations to police only with the consent of the patient involved.

“We have revised this policy, requiring all allegations of criminal behaviour to be immediately reported to police,” the statement said.

Ran said hospital officials told his mother the matter was kept “within closed doors to not jeopardize the hospital’s reputation.”

“We’ve been on this for two years fighting and the legal system is not doing much of anything. The legal system clearly is not,” he said.

Ran said he’s sharing his grandmother’s story on social media, which has gone viral, to call for #JusticeForSonja. The family said it has also launched a civil suit against the hospital.

In Canada, there are no federal laws that make reporting of elder abuse mandatory and in Ontario reporting of abuse is mandatory only if the patient lives in a long-term-care home or a retirement home.

Personal support workers are also not regulated in the province, something the Shirdans are calling for.

    Full statement from Mackenzie Health:

First and foremost, the safety and well-being of our patients is, and has always been, our top priority at Mackenzie Health. To ensure that we are meeting this commitment, we regularly review and update our practices and policies to provide the best quality of care.

In the 2015 case against a PSW in our hospital, Mackenzie Health immediately initiated an internal investigation after allegations about a member of our staff were brought forward by one patient. The staff member was immediately suspended and issued a no trespass order.

Previously, our policy was to report allegations to police only with the consent of the patient involved. When one family did, that is when the police investigation began. We shared the required information with police and cooperated fully during the police investigation and judicial proceedings, which are now completed.

Further, we diligently examined and updated our policies. Under our current policy, all allegations of criminal behaviour are reported to police, without requiring patient consent.

We continue to encourage all of our staff to be vigilant in reporting any incident of concern regarding treatment of our patients or their family members.

Our hospital community was deeply saddened by the events of 2015 and our hearts go out to the families affected.

There is no regulatory body for personal support workers (PSWs) in Ontario. We support efforts to establish a regulatory authority for PSWs.
