All products made outside Germany removed by Edeka

Diversity of products is good, therefore so is diversity of cultures … like ones in wich women are second-class citizens (or rather slaves), and gays have to be thrown down a tall building…
Or, perhaps, you can’t have trading with other countries and continents unless you bring these countries and continents in yours…

An armed Antifa group is launching a new cell in Philadelphia, with support from the “alt-left” alternative media.

The group currently hosts anti-police workshops called “Our Enemies in Blue.” The group draws inspiration from convicted murderers and calls for violence against the police, theft of goods, and armed insurrection.

Antifa websites like It’s Going Down, Sub.Media and Insurrection News have been promoting the group, which calls itself the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement, calling on their readers to donate to a Fundrazr account for the creation of the new cell.

  5. ISIS Calls Jihadists to Philippines, Threatens Pope Francis

As the Islamic State loses caliphate territory in Iraq and Syria, a new video released by the terror group touts the growth of operations in the Philippines and the destruction jihadists unleashed on a Catholic church in Marawi.

Muslim fighters loyal to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi began clashing with government forces in the city on Mindanao in the southern Philippines in May, eager to carve out a province for ISIS. The “Inside the Khilafah” video brags about how jihadists freed inmates from the local jail and attacked local churches, and called Marawi “a reward for holding firmly to the rope of Allah.”

The English-speaking narrator with an American accent, who has narrated other videos for ISIS’ Al-Hayat Media Center, said the occupation took root in Marawi because the Philippine government tried to “subjugate the Muslims” and “expel them from the land.” Like ISIS recruitment and operations in their shrinking home-base caliphate, the video also shows child soldiers fighting with the jihadists.

The State Department confirms illnesses related to a mysterious sonic attack in the Cuban embassy.

Officials say at least 16 Americans suffered symptoms as a result of activity believed to have been caused by this secretive method.

The incidents are no longer happening, but U.S. authorities still have not located a device that caused the symptoms.

Officials also say a suspect has yet to be identified in connection with alleged attacks.

As of now only one person sustained a brain injury from the incident.

“They have been provided medical treatment in the United States, as well as in Cuba,” said State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert. “We take this situation extremely seriously and we are trying to provide them the help, the medical care and the support that they need.”

The Cuban government has denied any wrongdoing, but U.S. officials say the country is cooperating in the investigation.

  7. Alt-left leader threatens to ‘crush skulls’ at conservative prayer rally using item shown
By Joe Newby August 25, 2017

How far are radical left-wing terrorists willing to go in their jihad against America and President Trump? Try this on for size: A self-proclaimed “leader” of the alt-left has promised to “crush skulls” at an upcoming “Patriot Prayer” peace rally with a baseball bat studded with nails.

A Twitter user going by the handle @ibPrinceJordan tweeted, “The Patriot Prayer rally is a nazi white supremacist event. I’ll be their [sic] to crush some nazi skulls.”

He made similar threats in other tweets before deleting them, but at least one was captured for posterity by Paul Joseph Watson:

“Can’t wait! Going to bring this nailed bat for some nazi pounding,” read another tweet.

    Watson noted:

    >blockquote>The user is located in San Francisco, which is where the event will take place at Crissy Field on Saturday, suggesting he does indeed plan to attend the march.

His Twitter bio reads, “Alt-Left resistance leader. iraq war survivor. cute communist & catholic.”

Despite numerous other prominent Twitter users drawing attention to the violent threat, the account has not been suspended.

  8. After DWS ‘Islamophobia’ excuse, angered U.S. Marine goes public on Awans
By LU Staff August 24, 2017

A Marine who provided key evidence in the FBI case against Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s former IT employee said he is appalled by her claim that Islamophobia led U.S. Capitol Police to frame the former staffer.

Also Wednesday, two of Imran Awan’s relatives went on the record to say they think he would do anything for money.

Andre Taggart alerted the FBI to damaged harddrives and a cache of electronics tied to Imran Awan, a former IT specialist for dozens of House Democrats. Awan is the central figure in a criminal investigation of suspected procurement fraud and violations of the congressional IT network, including diverting data to an off-site server.

North Korean state media yesterday released details on its latest missile systems: the three-stage Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Hwasong-13 and Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Pukguksong-3. The release is part of a broader, unusually well-publicized North Korean escalation under Kim Jong-un, aimed at intimidating the United States with its growing missile capabilities.

North Korean provocations have been emboldened by a U.S. policy that has remained essentially unchanged since Pyongyang began testing long-range missiles in 2006. Both the Bush and Obama administrations relied principally on sanctions and diplomatic pressure to constrain North Korea’s missile programs.

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/08/24/u-s-policy-north-korea-isnt-working/

    • Both the Bush and Obama administrations relied principally on sanctions and diplomatic pressure to constrain North Korea’s missile programs.

And we all know just how well that worked out now, don’t we?

In just a few months, Trump (to his eternal credit) has made more progress against North Korea—especially with respect to China’s zhong guo ying xi (i.e., shadow puppetry)—than the last half-dozen administrations combined.

Considering how Clinton and 0bama (Bush 2.0 to a lesser extent) were such consummate politicians, the fact that a raw beginner and political outsider like Trump has made such unprecedented headway (especially in such short order) bespeaks a level of dedication to bolstering America’s national security that has been glaringly absent for many years.

At the very least, Trump demonstrated an unexpected degree of diplomatic ingenuity when he promised Psycho Fat Boy an enema experience of “fire and fury”. This was a brilliant example of carefully calculated speaking to one’s audience in a manner to which they are accustomed. However unaccustomed Psycho Fat Boy is to having anyone reading him the riot act.

      • Also look at the way China made him back down, despite the articles linked to in a different thread today neither China nor Russia are ready to get into a war with the US. At least not until they have a lot more time to build up their military’s or we are tied down on several fronts before they enter the war. And I still wonder if Russia will ally with China in the war or if they will set back to see who wins and then declare war on the loser? In some matters Putin is like the Moslems, once terrority has been ruled by Russia it must always belong to Russia and they use to own a large chunk of China.

  10. George Soros claims to be a liberal, but look what he invests his billions in
By LU Staff August 24, 2017

Billionaire George Soros gives liberally to progressive causes, but he puts his financial bets on fast-food chains, GMO foods, coal, firearms, and gas-guzzling cars, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group analysis of his latest financial filing.

Soros claims he is a fighter for human rights but that hasn’t kept his separate private family investment company, Quantum Group of Funds, from investing in oil exploration in Western Sahara, long viewed by human rights groups and the UN Security Council as a territory brutally occupied by Morocco.

Soros Fund Management, the billionaire’s main corporate investment company, disclosed his latest financial investments for the second quarter in August 2017, as required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). A previous quarterly report showed he lost nearly $1 billion after Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election. The fund manages about $30 billion in assets.

Soros’s latest quarterly submission to the SEC shows he invested in companies opposed by left-wing advocacy groups on issues such as promoting healthful nutrition, increasing workers’ wages, protecting the environment, and fighting climate change.

“Soros is a socialist in ideology but a capitalist in methodology,” said Matthew Vadum, senior vice president of the conservative nonprofit Capital Research Center, which follows private money flows to foundations, charities, and philanthropies. “So, George Soros is a bundle of contradictions.”

“A majority of Australians believe the traditional Islamic burqa should be banned in public places, according to a new poll.

The survey found that 43.6 per cent of respondents “strongly” support a ban on the burqa in public while another 12.7 per cent also support the idea, producing a majority of 56.3 per cent generally in favour.

The Sky News/ReachTel poll found 12.3 per cent were against a ban and 18.9 cent “strongly” opposed the idea. Another 12.5 per cent were undecided.

The topic has risen to the forefront of political debate Down Under after One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson wore a burqa in Australia’s parliament last week. As Breitbart London reported, she wore the garb to gain publicity for her push to ban the burqa in public places and the Senator’s call seems to have found resonance with a large section of the Australian public…”

  13. Britain Under Siege: 56,000 Illegal Migrant Interceptions at the Border in 2016
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/08/25/britain-siege-153-illegal-migrants-interceptions-border-every-day-2016/

“Illegal migrants made more than 56,000 attempts to breach Britain’s borders from French ports and terminals in 2016.

Border Force and other British authorities intercepted an average of 153 attempted crossings a day throughout the year, according to statistics acquired by the BBC through Freedom of Information requests.

This represents an overall fall on the previous year — thanks in large part to the dismantling of the notorious, crime-ridden Calais Jungle encampment — but the number of migrants discovered in British ferry ports increased by several hundred, from 1,305 in 2015 to 1,868 in 2016.

Charlie Elphicke, MP for the Dover and Deal constituency, said it was “shocking that migrants at Calais tried to break into Britain more than 50,000 times last year”.

He added: “These figures underline the true scale of the challenge we face – and why we need more investment at our border.

“This is why we worked so hard to get the Calais Jungle dismantled.”

A spokesman for the UK Home Office argued that the drop in overall detections does, in fact, “make [it] absolutely clear that our approach to securing the UK’s border is working”.

They claimed the Government was “not complacent”, and British authorities would “continue to work closely with our French counterparts to maintain border security and keep legitimate passengers and trade moving”.

However, the Road Haulage Association appears to take a different view, with Director of Policy and Public Affairs Rod McKenzie stressing that the numbers are still their second-highest for seven years.

“Our members are terrified and angry. Gangs of marauding migrants, often armed with iron bars are attacking their vehicles,” he said.

“The police are heavily outnumbered and it’s clear that they can no longer cope with the ever increasing numbers trying to make the crossing to the UK.

“We hear of drivers refusing to make the journey between Dover and Calais while many hauliers are rerouting their vehicles around the Port at a cost of many thousands of pounds.””

“Militants stormed a Shiite mosque in the Afghan capital while worshippers were at Friday prayers, setting off an explosion that killed a security guard outside and pushing into the two-story building, officials said. A cleric who was leading the service was also killed, according to initial reports.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack while the assault was still underway, the latest to target Afghanistan’s minority Shiites.

The police were promptly deployed at the site in a northern Kabul neighborhood and encircled the mosque. Security forces initially avoided advancing inside to prevent further casualties, police official Mohammed Jamil said. Later, policemen made an attempt to enter the mosque but withdrew after one of the attackers set off an explosion, said police official Mohammad Sadiq Muradi.

Mohammad Ismail Kawasi, a spokesman for Afghanistan’s health ministry, said authorities believe that along with the two dead so far, eight people were also wounded in the attack.

More explosions and gunfire echoed from inside the mosque well into the afternoon. The mosque had been packed with worshippers for Friday prayers, the high point of the Muslim week, Jamil added…”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/myanmar-attacks-police-border-guards-kill-12-49411213

“Ethnic Rohingya militants in western Myanmar launched overnight attacks on more than two dozen police and border outposts, leaving 71 people dead, the government said Friday, in a significant escalation of their armed struggle.

The office of the country’s leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, said military and border police responded to the Thursday night attacks by launching “clearance operations.”

A witness in Maungdaw township, contacted by phone, said soldiers entered her village at about 10 a.m. Friday, burned homes and property, and shot dead at least 10 people.

The witness, who asked to be identified by her nickname, Emmar, because of fear of retribution, said villagers fled in many directions but mostly to a nearby mountain range. She said gunshots and explosions could be heard and smoke could still be seen Friday evening.

A militant group, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, or ARSA, took responsibility for the overnight attacks on more than 25 locations, saying they were in defense of Muslim Rohingya communities that had been abused by government forces. “A Swedish court has placed a Syrian asylum-seeker suspected of committing war crimes in Syria in pre-trial detention.

The court south of Stockholm jailed 33-year-old Mohammad Abdullah for two weeks Friday and said formal charges should be filed before Sept. 7.

The case relates to crimes allegedly committed in January 2014. Prosecutor Henrik Attorp said that Abdullah, as a fighter with Syrian government forces against the Islamic State group, posed in front of dead or wounded combatants knowing that it was intended as propaganda. He said other photos could emerge, including one of a severed head.

Attorp told Swedish radio Friday Abdullah had violated the victims’ “personal dignity” under international law. Abdullah said he was ordered to pose.

Abdullah arrived in Sweden 2015 as an asylum-seeker, according to court documents.”

  16. 71 dead in Myanmar after [...Muslim...]militant attacks on police, border posts

A militant group, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, or ARSA, took responsibility for the overnight attacks on more than 25 locations.

YANGON, MYANMAR—Ethnic Rohingya militants in western Myanmar launched overnight attacks on more than two dozen police and border outposts, leaving 71 people dead, the government said Friday, in a significant escalation of their armed struggle.

A militant group, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, or ARSA, took responsibility for the overnight attacks on more than 25 locations, saying they were in defence of Muslim Rohingya communities that had been abused by government forces. It issued its statement on Twitter on an account deemed legitimate by advocates of Rohingya rights.

The clashes were the worst since an attack by the militants on three border posts last October killed nine policemen, setting off months of brutal counter-insurgency operations by Myanmar security forces against Rohingya communities in Rakhine state. Human rights groups accused the army of carrying out massive human rights abuses including killing, rape and burning down more than 1,000 homes and other buildings.

The army’s abuses in turn fuelled further resentment toward the government among the Rohingya, most of whom are considered illegal immigrants from neighbouring Bangladesh without any of the civil rights of citizens. ARSA took advantage of the resentment by stepping up recruitment of members.

The new attacks seem likely to set off a new cycle of repression and resistance.

Security forces among dead from pre-dawn raids on police posts in Rakhine state near Bangladesh border

At least 71 people, including 12 members of the security forces, were killed in Myanmar’s troubled northern Rakhine state after Rohingya militants attacked border police early Friday morning, ushering in the bloodiest day of fighting since conflict broke out last year.

The fighting exploded around Rathedaung township, where there has been a buildup of Myanmar troops over recent weeks following reports of murders by shadowy groups and an exodus of refugees across the border to Bangladesh.

Some 20 police posts across the north of the state came under attack in the early hours of Friday by hundreds of insurgents, some carrying guns and using homemade explosives, Myanmar’s military said.

“The military and police members are fighting back together against extremist Bengali terrorists,” Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing said in a statement on Facebook, using the state’s description for Rohingya militants.

The office of state counselor Aung San Suu Kyi said 12 security officials had been killed alongside 59 militants.

  17. Germany: Central Council of Muslims urges engagement in federal election

Chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany Aiman Mazyek called on the Muslim population in the country to exercise their right to vote, in Berlin, Friday. Mazyek pointed out that a widespread abstention would would see the election of a party they may not want at all.

The council initiated a poster campaign to promote election participation amongst Germany’s Muslim communities, in order to encourage them “to fulfill their responsibilities and make it clear that those who do not vote, have, in any doubt, already voted for a party that they do not want at all.”

The expert from Aachen, born from a Syrian father and a German mother, stated, that although the recent comments from Turkish politicians during the current election campaign in Germany didn’t help calming tensions between Ankara and Berlin, he didn’t believe that they will have a big effect.

  18. Germany: Schulz demands Erdogan stops ‘interfering’ in German election

Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany Martin Schulz held a campaign rally in Essen, on Thursday, where he discussed recent comments made by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding the upcoming German Bundestag election.

Erdogan recently commented that Germany’s large Turkish community should not vote for the country’s three major parties, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Social Democratic Party (SPD) or the Greens. Deeming this interference in Germany’s democratic process, Schulz said, “We won’t allow the cohesion of our country to be brought asunder by anybody: not from terrorists – who carry out cowardly attacks in this country – but also not from the Turkish President.”

Schulz went on to implore Turkish-Germans to feel just as much a part of the nation as other communities, “I say to our fellow citizens from Turkey, of whom many are here with us, ‘You are a normal part of our society. You belong to us just as much as anyone else does.'”

Schulz also suggested that, instead of criticising German political parties, Erdogan should be releasing German nationals currently detained in Turkey, “I implore Mr Erdogan once again, ‘Don’t make a circus with whatever interference you do in Germany, but rather give us the release of our innocent citizens.”

On Wednesday this week, Germany’s Ambassador to Turkey Martin Erdmann visited German journalist Deniz Yuecel and German human rights activist Peter Steudtner in prison in Silivri, near Istanbul. Germany’s Foreign Ministry has reported that, to their knowledge, 22 German nationals have been detained by Turkey following the attempted coup against Erdogan’s government in July of last year, a fact that has caused tension between the two nations.

SOT, Martin Schulz, Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (German): “Who is, in fact, an enemy of Turkey? I implore Mr Erdogan once again, ‘Don’t make a circus with whatever interference you do in Germany, but rather give us the release of our innocent citizens.”

SOT, Martin Schulz, Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (German): “That is also the case for Mr Erdogan, and his attempt to interfere in the German elections. We won’t allow the cohesion of our country to be brought asunder by anybody: not from terrorists – who carry out cowardly attacks in this country – but also not from the Turkish President. I say to our fellow citizens from Turkey, of whom many are here with us, ‘You are a normal part of our society. You belong to us just as much as anyone else does.'”

SOT, Martin Schulz, Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (German): “In a time of Trump, Erdogan and Putin, we need now – more than ever – the awareness that there is only one region in the world in which so many democracies have joined together in a great union, who have all inscribed democracy into their constitutions – namely the value of people as a goal of the State. And they have joined together on the European level. In the 21st Century, these burdens: to defend people, to strengthen and protect them. It is for these ideas, ladies and gentlemen, that I went into politics. It’s for these ideas that I have fought for my whole life.”

SOT, Martin Schulz, Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (German): “People such as Mr Hoecke and Mr Gauland, of whom one termed the Holocaust memorial in Berlin as a shameful memorial, and the other who said, ‘Which Germans would like to have Jerome Boateng as a neighbour?’ These are members of a party that is so far-right that Frauke Petry acts as a moderating force for the party. [Laughter] One must really listen to that carefully: The moderating influence within the AfD is expressed by Frauke Petry.”

  19. Pakistan: US flag burnt by protesters after Trump Pakistan criticism

A dozen protesters took to the streets in Islamabad, on Friday after prayers, in response to recent comments by US President Donald Trump that Pakistan had “much to lose” if it did not comply with the US’ new Afghan strategy.

The Protests, organised by the Shiite political organisation Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen, included the burning of an American flag as well as a picture of Trump with a shoe print over his face, an insulting gesture in much of the Arab and Islamic world.

Trump’s comments are part of a new US strategy that seeks to exert pressure on Pakistan for allegedly assisting militants, as well as deploying more US troops on Afghani soil.

[…]Saraya al Salam (Peace Brigades), an Iraqi Shia militia led by powerful cleric Muqtada al Sadr, recently paraded its forces near the city of Samarra in Iraq’s Salahadin province. The parade was meant to showcase the militia’s “Rapid Intervention Brigade” and its preparedness to be deployed in the region

[…]Saraya al Salam is the current incarnation of the Mahdi Army, Sadr’s militia that fought US forces in pitched battles in Baghdad and central and southern Iraq between 2004 and 2008. Sadr purportedly disbanded the Mahdi Army in the spring of 2008 after US forces battled the group in Baghdad’s sprawling neighborhood of Sadr City, and created the Promised Day Brigade. Saraya al Salam was formed in 2014 to combat the Islamic State as Iraqi forces in northern, central, and western Iraq disintegrated in its wake.

Halima el-Karib, (Spanish): “I’m his wife… He doesn’t have anything to do with it. He explained everything to the police. And they found out that he doesn’t have anything to do with it. This is the most important thing. I am really grateful to Juzgados and Mossos. He told me they treated him super well. He is super fine with them. He says they are doing their job, and whatever help I can give, I am here. The others? We don’t have anything to do with them. We are the victims. He is very sad about what happened in Barcelona, because we stand against terrorism… They are from the town… By sight… Sorry, they are waiting for me. I’ve to go… We are victims. We are really sorry for what happened, what happened in Barcelona… He is very calm. The Mossos said they don’t have problems with him… I can’t tell you anything. I’ve got to go… We don’t have anything in common… We remain here, we don’t have a place to go to… I’m one of the victims… please, please… I’ve to go… I gave you time. Please, well, please.”

  25. Watch: Video Gets 6.5 Million Hits Showing How Antifa and ISIS Are the Same

The so-called “alt left” likes to pretend that they are heroes of our civilization, fighting against injustice.

However, a closer look shows that groups such as “antifa” aren’t really the noble crusaders they claim to be. That point is exactly what one viral video demonstrates, by comparing the far-left group to radical “Islamic State” group terrorists.

The comparison video was posted on social media by controversial journalist Mike Cernovich, and quickly received over six million views as of Tuesday afternoon.

  26. The Racist Attacks on America and Trump
Why the Left hates the president and the nation he heads.
    August 25, 2017
    David Horowitz

Let’s start by noticing the obvious. The biggest hate group in America – by a wide margin – is the anti-Trump chorus, which has advanced from calling him “unfit to be president” to accusing him (in the words of CNN’s Ana Navarro) of being “unfit to be human.” In between are malignant accusations that he is a “neo-Nazi,” a “white nationalist” and a “white supremacist” – all revelations about Trump’s character that somehow remained hidden during the thirty years he was a public figure and before he ran against Hillary Clinton. Nor is the hate confined to Trump alone but includes his aides and supporters. Congressman Jerrold Nadler and other House Democrats have even attacked Trump’s policy adviser Stephen Miller as a “white supremacist” for defending a merit-based immigration reform. The attacks from the anti-Trump left also include the charge that America itself is a “white supremacist” country.

In a nation which for eight years was headed by a black president, had two chief law enforcement officers who were black, has recently had two black secretaries of state and three black national security advisers, and has elected more than 10,000 black government officials; in a nation that has been governed for fifty years by statutes that outlaw discrimination by race and whose national culture is saturated with non-white heroes and icons – in such a nation, people who refer to America as “white supremacist” would normally be dismissed as an oddball fringe, members of a fraternity that includes people who think Elvis is still alive and on the moon. Unfortunately, we live in times that are not normal.

  27. The Persecution of Patriot Prayer
Democrats green-light violence by smearing mainstream group rallying in San Francisco as neo-Nazis.
    August 25, 2017
    Matthew Vadum

Democrat politicians like Nancy Pelosi have given their ultra-violent “antifa” allies permission to use physical violence against the Patriot Prayer group rallying in a San Francisco park on Saturday by smearing them as “Nazi sympathizers.”

The story of Oregon-based Patriot Prayer is a case study in the power of propaganda in generating leftist mass hysteria. It is also a reaffirmation that everyone has First Amendment rights in America, except for non-leftists. Leftists are already planning riots. One of the more cowardly leftists intends to cover the rally site at Crissy Field inside San Francisco’s Golden Gate National Recreation Area near the Golden Gate Bridge in dog feces.

Offering no evidence whatsoever of the Tea Party-ish group’s background or intentions, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who represents San Francisco, said Crissy Field “is not a place for Nazi sympathizers to come and spew their negative message.”

  28. The Church of the Left
The Left has written its values into our laws.
    August 25, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…”

The First Amendment assumes that the proper sphere of government is policies, not values. And so it protects the right of political participation and prohibits a state church that would define values.

The government had the right to decide to go to war with France. It did not have a right to decide what you should believe. Politics extended into the realm of policies, not beliefs.

But as religious belief declined, politics replaced it as the repository of moral and ethical values. This transformation began on the left. The left was the least religious in the traditional sense. And the most likely to build up an ideology of secular values with which to displace traditional religious values.

  29. If Accusing All Muslims is Wrong, Why is Accusing All White People Right?
    August 25, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield

After Charlottesville, Bret Stephens wrote a New York Times column challenging lefties for giving Islamists a pass in the same way that they would never tolerate if they were Neo-Nazis.

Regarding last week’s events in Charlottesville, Va., consider the following propositions:

    (1) James Alex Fields Jr., the young man who on Saturday, police say, rammed his Dodge Challenger into a crowd in Charlottesville, killing Heather Heyer and injuring 19 others, was not a “domestic terrorist.”

    (2) He was a fatherless, troubled individual who likely experienced economic disenfranchisement as a child of Kentucky and was moved to violence for motives about which we can only guess.

    (3) The marchers who gathered in Charlottesville to protest the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee are not necessarily “alt-right.” After all, the alt-right movement encompasses a diverse spectrum of opinion, only some of it racist, and should not be tarred by the rhetoric or actions of a few.

    (4) White people should feel no sense of responsibility because a tiny handful of so-called white “nationalists” and “supremacists” falsely claim to speak in their name.

    (5) The blame for the events in Charlottesville does not lie with any particular group. Both sides bear their share of guilt and should have shown greater restraint.

    (6) President Donald Trump was right last Saturday to avoid stigmatizing any particular group in his remarks condemning violence and hatred. Doing so would unnecessarily elevate the profile of the angry losers and occasionally violent extremists who defame Americans and give them the PR victory they were seeking all along.

OK, now here’s hoping you’re revolted by each of the six preceding points. Because, if you are, then maybe we can at last rethink the policy of euphemism, obfuscation, denial and semantic yoga that typified the Obama administration’s discussions of another form of terrorism.

    That would be Islamist terrorism…

Predictably the responses on the left were furious. The left hates two things above all else.

  30. Germany: Merkel reflects on Germany’s Syria policy during panel with refugees

German Chancellor Angela Merkel met refugees who have worked with the Kiron Open Higher Education start-up, which specialises in providing online education for refugee youngsters, Friday, in Berlin.

SOT, Wafaa, 23 years-old from Syria (German): “I think that education is really good and important for success, but bringing the family together is also important. Nevertheless, lots of refugees are concerned with the new law for 2018 that they will not be able to bring their families.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “Yes very many people, also from Turkey, have gone back to Aleppo. On the one hand we still have Assad who has really badly treated and is badly treating the people and on the other hand we have people going back to Aleppo again and should we help rebuild Aleppo, should we engage ourselves in doing that and then strengthen Assad once again or do we say no, no help so long as Assad is there.”

SOT, Syrian refugee (German): “I have a general interest in the situation in Syria, with or without Assad; I just want peace for the people there. We must once again work on our children’s education in our country. I have no idea what we will have after ten years; currently we have children in Syria who haven’t been to school in seven years.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “So should we help children in Aleppo can return to school once again?”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “You are here, but there are lots of people still in Syria, they also need peace and we have to see how we can help rebuild Syria.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “You are of course very good examples, that have learnt the language fast, and are very engaged, but not all are so clever, skilled and willing. I understand, when one opens the newspaper, one day it says ‘welcome’, the other not [welcome] any more. But on your way please tell your countrymen, that perhaps have more difficulties, to integrate themselves, learn the language and then they will receive help, use your good example and encourage the others.”

  31. Venezuela’s Attorney General Flees the Country
The regime begins to eat its own.
    August 25, 2017
    David Paulin

It’s an old story: leftist regimes eat their own. From the Soviet Union and China to North Korea and Cuba. And now this rogues gallery has a new member: Venezuela. There amid violent street protests and severe food shortages, the eat-their-own phenomena recently claimed a high-profile figure – Venezuela’s embattled attorney general Luisa Ortega Díaz. She was an outspoken critic of President Nicolás Maduro – a dangerous position to take in socialist Venezuela. Its jails hold more than 100 political prisoners.

Last week, fearing she was about to be arrested after being sacked, Ortega fled for her life to neighboring Bogotá, Colombia, along with her husband Germán Ferrer – a former Marxist guerrilla and lawmaker in Venezuela’s ruling leftist party. He faced extortion charges. The revolutionary power couple took a boat to Aruba – then flew on a private jet to Colombia where they were offered political asylum. But four days later, for unknown reasons, they took a commercial flight to Brazil where Ortega will no doubt be interviewed by law-enforcement authorities. She has claimed that Maduro and his cronies took nearly $100 million in bribes from Brazilian construction company Odebrecht. “I have a lot of proof, concretely in the Odebrecht case, which implicates many high-ranking Venezuelans, starting with the president of the republic,” she said during a news conference in Brazil’s capital. She also leveled other corruption charges against top Venezuelan officials. President Maduro, meanwhile, has said Venezuela will seek Ortega’s arrest with an international warrant. Police raided her home, and state television broadcast images of an allegedly lavish lifestyle.
