  1. Relative ‘used scissors to stab victim’s neck’ in suspected honour killing in Sweden (thekocal, Aug 17, 2017)
    https://www.thelocal.se/20170817/relative-used-scissors-to-stab-victims-neck-in-suspected-swedish-honour-killing

“A man in central Sweden has been accused of murder after a younger family member was stabbed to death in a suspected honour-related killing.

The incident happened in May 2017 at the Stensjön lake in Grycksbo, near Falun.

According to the indictment, which The Local has seen, the victim was “killed by cutting or stabbing with scissors in his neck” and “died from bleeding as a result of the vascular injuries to his throat”.

The prosecutor argues that the attack was carried out with intent, and the victim’s wife said it was the result of a family conflict. She claims the suspect took offence to her and the victim’s daughters shaking hands with boys, damaging the family’s honour in his eyes, and the older relative then asked the father to kill them.

The father refused and ended contact with his relative. His wife believes he was subsequently lured to the lake where he was killed.

The suspect denies committing murder however and says he was assaulted by the father then used the scissors to defend himself.

Nine witness interviews, forensic evidence including blood samples, and analysis of the alcohol in the suspect’s bloodstream are among the evidence used in the investigation.

Later on Thursday it emerged that both the victim and suspect in the current case are relatives of Fadime Sahindal, who in 2002 was murdered by her father following her speech at the Riksdag about honour culture and oppression at the hands of male relatives. It is one of the most high-profile cases of honour killing in Sweden.

In May, one of her other relatives was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his ex wife’s partner.

In July meanwhile, six people were convicted of murder by Gävle District Court in a major honour violence case involving the work of around 100 police officers, where a man was killed after having an affair with a married woman.

Five were sentenced to life in prison while the sixth was sentenced to 14 years due to being under the age of 21 when the crime took place.”

Turkey, along with Mexico, scored zero points out of 10, placing it at the bottom of the list, while the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia obtained full scores, 10. Estonia and the U.S. followed the top three countries with 9.6 and 9.2 points respectively. Germany, the U.K. and France received 8.69, 7.73, and 7.57 scores respectively.

“At least two people were arrested for being involved in magnetic bombings in Kabul city amid a steep rise in such bombings in the city.

The officials in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of interior said the two men were arrested earlier this week.

The officials further added that the two men were serving in a mosque as prayer leaders and were in the meantime involved in magnetic bombings.

According to the CID officials, the two men had recently planted a magnetic bomb in a residential house in the vicinity of the 10th police district of the city.

The suspects were arrested after the police forces were informed regarding the threats being issued to the residents of the house and the magnetic bomb was planted in their garage, the officials said…”

    Re: The Barcelona Rampage

Strange as it may sound, the announcement by ISIS to promote a larger number of smaller-scale jihadist attacks may (in the long run) work to the West’s unexpected advantage.

As would be thought, the spectacular 9-11 Atrocity gained a predictable and unprecedented degree of notoriety. However, this bloodbath was relatively “confined” and—despite having awoken the “sleeping tiger”—had a comparatively narrower scope of (geographical) impact. Especially when contrasted with the pandemic of undersized but almost equally sensational and near-daily slaughter (e.g., Nice, Manchester, and London Bridge) that is crisscrossing the European continent.

In fact, there are few better (recent) examples of the “memory hole” effect than the events of 9-11. At that time, the 9-11 Atrocity galvanized America—and to whatever lesser extent, many other parts of the non-Muslim world—with respect to promoting a greater awareness of Islam’s ongoing threat.

Almost sixteen years later, the American people have been sufficiently lulled—largely by two terms of the 0bama administration’s flaccid global posture—into a politically-desired but ultimately detrimental sense of false security that neither the 2002 (Malvo and Muhammad) Beltway Sniper attacks, nor Nidal Hasan’s 2009 Fort Hood massacre were able to properly dispel.

However counterintuitive, this more-frequently publicized calendar of recent European carnage is reaching many more ears than the rapidly fading memory of 9-11’s horror (not to mention Bali [2002], Madrid [2004], Beslan [2004], London [2005] and Bali II [2005]). The end result being that this current EU butchery is fomenting a far-greater and more widespread discontent with any continuing presence of Muslims in the West. All of this despite the EU’s frantic struggle to disassociate Islam and terrorism.

From all indications, Europe’s only hope for survival is unanimous expulsion of all (recent) immigrants to their countries of origin or, equally fitting, abandoning them on Libya’s coastline. Dump them back from whence they came and be done with it.

That said, such an outcome hinges upon two distinct alternatives: The necessary voter awareness to “de-elect” national and cultural traitors like Germany’s Angela Merkel, or (all else failing) instigating an armed insurrection—as in a European Civil War—that will expel this recent invasion of fighting-age Muslim males who have dramatically increased rape and crime rates across the entire continent.

As World War II proved, there are far worse alternatives to deportation. With that in mind, the actions of these violent and barbaric invaders indicates a shockingly stubborn refusal (on their own part) to consider how there may arrive, amongst Europeans, a “tipping point”. This decision-gate involves reaching a conclusion which determines that any Muslim presence is troublesome beyond compare to the donkeywork (Hat Tip: Eeyore) of excising Islam’s presence on The Continent and in the West.

All of which returns us to the question at hand: What better way to advertise the complete and total unacceptability of admitting Muslim “immigrants” (i.e., “rapefugees”) into Western nations than by having some sufficient number of them commit a conspicuously disproportionate amount sexual assaults, violent attacks, and jihadist atrocities?

All to such an extent that their collective burden, by far, exceeds whatever percentage of their—routinely negligible—positive contributions to these respective societies as a whole.

At this point—though determined and biased media interference makes it difficult to detect—the EU’s desperate efforts at continually promoting such outright corrosion of European values are being drowned out by both the roar of Muslim contempt for these “benevolent” (i.e., submissive) societies and the ever-growing anger of indigenous citizen protests. Equally important is the diminishing native sympathy or whatever residual compassion being shown for this tsunami of parasitic and criminally disposed interlopers.

    So, “Keep Honking, We’re Reloading”.

This is the only worthwhile message that can be sent to Europe’s new-wave of Muslim invaders. Be it their “grooming gangs”, “no-go zones”, so-called “honor killings”, “rapefugees”, Köln grope-fests, swimming-pool assaults, EU female genital mutilation, or local “shari’a courts”, such contradictions of traditional Western law must be overturned by what will likely be popular vote or vigilante violence. What other options are there?

This is the choice that confronts those apparatchiks in Brussels, and is being addressed by their ghastly attempts to form an EU military which can only rain destruction upon The Continent. Subversion of NATO precedents and the increasingly greater probability of British or French nuclear arsenals falling into Islamic hands makes all of this into a nightmare scenario which can only be magnified by the current deluge of ISIS terrorism in Europe.

While I detest this ongoing European loss of life (however minimal or not), evidently that death toll is a sadly necessary ingredient when it comes to animating the sort of opposition needed to repel this wave of Muslim and counter-cultural invaders.

So, “Keep Slaughtering, We’re Re-Arming”. See: Czech Republic lodges a complaint against Europe.

When this wave of populist rejection crests, the “wipe-outs” of “immigrant” opportunists who are carelessly surfing the foamy edge of irresponsible EU generosity will be nothing short of epic.

    Pauvre petite!

      • “Sadly, NR, you are right.”

Thank you, Johnnyu. However much I dislike being “right” about such a potentially gruesome situation, as the old saying goes:

BETTER THE UGLY TRUTH THAN A BEAUTIFUL LIE.

As is so often the case with Islam, it’s just a matter of how high the butcher’s bill must rise before action is taken. Through its two World Wars, Europe has sufficiently traumatized (and unmanned) itself to where I fear the death toll will be several times what otherwise might have been necessary before the tipping point is reached.

      • “I am with you with that reading of the situation.”

I appreciate the support, DaffersD. I don’t recall seeing your moniker before so please permit me to welcome you aboard.

    • The more terror attacks the more people who wake up and start fighting back, when Europe finally wakes up and throws off their PC slavery by the left they will expel the invaders. It will take time and be a bloody struggle but in the end Europe will be semi free.

      • “…in the end Europe will be semi free.”

Anything that is more free than the current EUSSR will be a giant leap ahead.

These constant terror attacks are the proverbial “trout in the milk pail”. Hard to ignore and even more difficult to explain away. At some point, all of the EU’s obfuscation and denial will fail as the scales fall away from Europe’s eyes.

Woe betide the “immigrants” when that happens.

        • I thing that there will be strong man rule in many of the European nations. That is why I said semi free.

          • I agree. The Europeans will find that combating Islam will require fighting fire with fire. Strong-man governments epitomize the sort of immediate and decisive action required to defeat this current invasion.

To date, the EU has facilitated all of this infiltration while doing nothing to protect its own citizens, including previously assimilated (i.e., legitimate) immigrants.

            • I’m surprised the generals haven’t taken over yet even in Britain, to save civilization, and their own posterity, from the consequences of betrayal by lily-livered politicians.

              • A military coup is a large step for a Western Military officer to take, it is coming but most wil prefer to pray for a political solution. The Coup will be a last ditch effort to save Europe.

            • The strongmen are watching and waiting, praying for a political solution so they don’t destroy Centuries of civilization. What they are refusing to admit to themselves is that civilization has already suffered so much damage that it is almost impossible if not fully impossible to save it.

    • Sadly, the Spanish people seem to require a sharp wake-up. As you note, Norse, this was a contained episode. It affected foreign tourists, hit an iconic site, and drew a great deal of attention.

While the injured are fighting for their lives at this very moment in hospital, it sounds inhuman and callous. Anyway, here goes:

You’ll get off cheap if you stop the madness NOW.

      • If we stop the madness now we all are getting off cheap. The left has enough control in all nations to prevent us stopping the madness now.

  5. ‘Islam does NOT belong to Germany’ AfD leader rejects claims her party echoes Nazi slogans (express, Aug 18, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/842722/Germany-AfD-Nazi-Beatrix-von-Stork-Newsnight-BBC-Nigel-Farage

“THE Deputy leader of the far-right German party Alternativ für Deutschland (AFD) has defended her movement following accusations her party echoes the rhetoric of the Nazi party

Beatrix von Stork, Duchess of Oldenburg and the AfD’s second in command, claimed her party’s policies on Islam and immigration were not the same as the fascist doctrine of Adolf Hitler.

Speaking on Newsnight, she said: “We are saying that Islam does not belong to Germany which is a historical fact and we’re making very clear we don’t want to move towards a society which is more and more influenced by Islam.

“We don’t want that. I don’t think you can call that [Nazi ideology].”

Newsnight foreign correspondent Gabriel Gatehouse went on to point to the AfD’s rally posters – which read “Our land our homeland” and “New Germans? We will make them ourselves” over a picture of a white pregnant woman – and drew a parallel with the Nazi Party’s ‘blood and soil’ slogan.

But Mrs von Stoch said: “It’s very normal what we are saying is that we don’t want to have the reproduction of our country done only by others or by migration – what is going on at the moment, so this replacement migration.”

Asked if she can understand why people would be worried about her stance due to Germany’s “history”, she said: “No, I can’t.”

She added: “Because you can’t ask us to not be linked to our country or [tell] us ‘You have to give up your serenity, you have to take in migration, millions and even more millions to come because of your history, you have to give up your culture’. No.”

It comes as Nigel Farage hits out at leaders across Europe for their response to the Barcelona attack which killed 13 people and left more than 100 people wounded…”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/officials-extremist-group-beheads-people-kenya-49289629

“Kenyan officials say suspected Islamic militants have beheaded three people and burnt houses in an attack along the Indian Ocean coast.

Lamu County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo says gunmen believed to al-Shabab militants attacked Maleli village near Witu town.

Beheadings by al-Shabab have been relatively rare in Kenya, where the extremist group has carried out dozens of deadly attacks over the years. The group in July was accused of beheading nine people in another village in Lamu County and has stepped up attacks in East African country in recent weeks.

The al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab has vowed retribution after Kenya sent troops across the border to Somalia in 2011 to fight the group, which last year became the deadliest Islamic extremist group in Africa.”

“The wires protruding from the small, misshapen stuffed animal revealed the deadly booby-trap tucked inside.

For the people of Mosul, the sophisticated bomb was a reminder of how difficult it will be to return to homes littered with hidden explosives by Islamic State militants and dotted with the remnants of undetonated bombs dropped by the U.S.-led coalition that still could blow up.

Washington at least is trying to ease a bit of the massive clean-up burden.

On Thursday, the top U.S. commander in Iraq said for the first time that the American military will help contractors and other officials locate unexploded bombs dropped by the coalition. U.S. Embassy officials have asked the coalition to declassify grid coordinates for bombs dropped in Iraq to help clear the explosives.

It may not be that simple, Gen. Stephen Townsend told a small group of reporters, “but we’ll find a way through that.”

“We’ll find a way to help them,” he said…”

Gagné said that wasn’t a reference to assassination, but to his earlier-stated belief that Vice President Mike Pence will use the 25th Amendment of the Constitution to have Trump removed from office.

“Damn,” Gagné then wrote, “now I’ll probably get a visit from the secret service smdh.”

Chappelle-Nadal responded: “No. I will. I hope Trump is assassinated!”

  13. Abraham Lincoln monument torched in Chicago: ‘An absolute disgraceful act’

.Abraham Lincoln has joined George Washington on the list of those targeted by Chicagoans in a national debate over Civil War-era monuments.

Alderman Raymond Lopez took to Facebook Wednesday night to decry a defaced statue of the nation’s 16th president in the Englewood neighborhood. The giant bust appears to have been damaged after someone in the 15th Ward sprayed and ignited a flammable liquid.

“What an absolute disgraceful act of vandalism. This bust of Abraham Lincoln, erected by Phil Bloomquist on August 31, 1926, was damaged & burned,” Mr. Lopez wrote, a local NBC affiliate reported. “If anyone has any information regarding this act, please contact the police or my office immediately.”

    DURHAM

A vandal or vandals defaced the statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee near the entrance of Duke Chapel.

The incident happened sometime overnight, Duke University spokesman Keith Lawrence said, adding that the campus police are investigating.

Lawrence declined to speculate about how the damage was inflicted. Parts of Lee’s face had been chipped off, including all of his nose.

The statue’s face is high enough off the ground that most people would need a stepstool or small ladder to reach it.

  16. A Pillar of Chinese Growth Starts to Show Cracks
As prices in the all-important interior lose momentum, the market looks close to an inflection point

Summer in the city is tough—especially if you’re a construction worker in China’s furnace-like interior.

In July, as temperatures in China were breaking records, the economy showed distinct signs of slowing following a strong run in the first half. The heat itself may have been a factor. But July housing prices, out Friday, are another sign that momentum is faltering: Prices in the multitude of medium-size cities in China’s vast interior, which account for as much as 70% of the country’s housing market by floor space, rose at a slower pace for the second month in a row. That Is troubling news for all the investment and commodities demand they drive.

On that police stand-down in Charlottesville, there’s money to follow
    By J.E. Dyer August 17, 2017

Others are doubtful, but I think it’s a good thing that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the vehicular attack by James Alex Fields, Jr. on a crowd of protesters at the Charlottesville rally on 12 August.

For now, it seems that the scope of the investigation is fairly narrow, relating to whether there was organized planning for the attack and if Fields, a 20-year-old from Ohio, had help from others. DOJ is looking into it as a potential hate crime under civil-rights law, which would be chargeable.

The possibility that more planners than Fields were involved would also suggest a feature of domestic terrorism. In that regard, as Andrew McCarthy pointed out on Tuesday, there is no federal statute under which to bring criminal charges against Fields. But on the chance that this was an organized attack, FBI investigators could still identify and probe the planners, and determine if there is more to uncover that would help develop knowledge of extremist organizations, and prevent other incidents.

  18. The statue vandals, and waking the sleeping giant
    By J.E. Dyer August 17, 2017

Let’s summarize where we are today.

Some execrable, inexcusable Nazis stood under torches Friday night and hollered grossly offensive things for a few hours. The next day they assembled again, but were ordered to disperse before they said anything. They did. Counter-protesters were also present, but they received no orders from the police. In the mayhem that ensued, when the police made no attempt to contain the situation, a white supremacist used his car to attack counter-protesters in the street, killing a woman and injuring 19 others. Some political blather ensued.

Now, all across America, radical-left groups are destroying and defacing public monuments.

Destroying the monuments is utterly meaningless for addressing Nazism. The destruction is intentional and systematic, but its purpose is not to “stand up to” Nazis or hate. The purpose of frenzied vandalism never is.

  19. he Left’s next target? Mt. Rushmore. Seriously
By Howard Portnoy August 18, 2017

Yesterday, I wrote a post that focused on a larger-than-life test case in the Left’s mania for obliterating America’s past. Having contented themselves with tearing down oxidized bronze castings of dead white Americans on both sides of the blue-gray divide (on Wednesday the Lincoln Memorial was vandalized!), they were now turning their sites to larger monuments such as the giant bas relief carving at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia.

I concluded the article with a rhetorical question: “If the work is destroyed, can Mt. Rushmore be far behind?” Little did I know the question was already in the process of being answered by one Wilbert L. Cooper, who writes for VICE. An article by him originally titled “Let’s Blow Up Mt. Rushmore,” later “toned down” by the editors to the far more reasonable suggestion “Let’s Get Rid of Mount Rushmore,” went live shortly after my own.

One of the FBI’s top investigators, tapped by special counsel Robert Mueller just weeks ago to help lead the probe of Russian meddling in last year’s presidential election, has left Mueller’s team, sources tell ABC News.

The recent departure of the FBI veteran, Peter Strzok, is the first known hitch in a secretive probe that, by all public accounts, is charging full steam ahead. Just last week, news surfaced that Mueller’s team had executed a search warrant at the Virginia home of Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort. And the week before that, ABC News confirmed that Mueller is now using a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., to collect documents and other evidence.

How thin can excuses wear every time an atrocity is committed in the name of Islam?

When 13 people were killed and scores more injured this week in a vehicle-ramming attack in Barcelona, Spain, and stabbing men shouting “This is for Allah!” on London Bridge and in Borough Market in June, what the victims least cared about was the Western elite pontificating that the latest atrocity “had nothing to do with Islam”.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said, “It is time to say enough is enough” and promised a review of her country’s counter-terrorism strategy.

In the absence, however, of an honest and tempered look at the root causes of this terrorism, sacred or not, and a painful soul-searching by Muslims themselves of the grounds in their religion that give rise to such violence, it will never be “enough”.

  22. BREAKING: Knife attack near Dusseldorf – One dead, manhunt on for killer (express, Aug 18, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/842990/Dusseldorf-attack-man-stabbed-dead-in-shop-police-hunt-Germany-latest

“A MAN has been stabbed to death in a shop in Elberfeld, near Dusseldorf, according to reports, after a knife attack in Finland.

At least one other person is believed to have been hurt.

The incident has taken place on Kipdorf in Wuppertal-Elberfeld, in the city in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Special forces have been deployed and police have descended on the scene, forming a ring of steel around the area.

A special forces commander said systematic searches were taking place in neighbouring buildings.

Local media have reported the killer – or killers – have not yet been caught.

The dead man is believed to be 31-years-old and the other injured person, 25.

Early reports say the incident took place at a haridressers.

All of Europe is on standby for terror attacks following recent threats by Islamic State (ISIS) jihadis.

Fourteen were killed in dual attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils on Thursday.

First a van was driven along Las Ramblas killing innocent tourists, before a car was driven along a street 68 miles away, killing one.

Five jihadis were then killed by police.

Police are yet to confirm whether or not there is a terror motive.

In December 2016 attacker Anis Amri drove a lorry into a packed Christmas market, killing 12 people and injuring more than 60, in Berlin.

In July 2016 a doctor died after being shot in a Berlin hospital in the fifth horror attack in Germany in just over a week.

The string of violent attacks started when an axeman hacked passengers on a train in Wurzburg on Monday July 18.

A young Iranian-German guman went on a deadly rampage in Munich on Friday July 22 after being inspired by far-right killer Anders Breivik.

  24. ‘Not my chancellor’ Merkel faces boos and shouts of ‘TRAITOR’ at rally over migrant policy (express, Aug 18, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/842974/Angela-Merkel-Annaberg-AfD-booed-traitor-rally-Germany-migrant-crisis

“ANGELA Merkel was booed and branded a “traitor to the nation” as she was faced with anti-immigration protestors at a rally in eastern Germany today.

The chancellor, who is widely expected to win a fourth term, made a stop in the small town of Annaberg-Buchholz in Saxony today as part of her election campaign ahead of the vote on September 24.

But instead of being greeted by local supporters, the rally was hijacked by a crowd of protestors from the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) and the anti-migrant Pegida movement.

More than 150 protestors descended on the rally chanting “not my chancellor”, as they waved banners reading “get out of here” and “traitor to the nation”.

The group also held signs reading “regime change in Germany” and “CDU – we are destroying Germany”.

It is believed the group were protesting against Ms Merkel’s ‘open door’ immigration policy during the height of the migrant crisis in 2015 and 2016.

As she took to the podium today, the CDU leader tried to defend her decision – which she previously admitted she regretted.

She told the crowds: “Many people were worried. They said to themselves: ‘What about us? Are we still important or are only the refugees important?'”

And she hit back at the booing crowd, saying: “Some want to listen, but others can only shout. That is what separates us.”

The protesters also sprayed anti-Merkel slogans in the town of Thermalbad Wiesenbad, some 5km from the rally, Die Welt reported.

The news comes after a group of around 100 AfD supporters booed the chancellor in the western town of Gelnhausen on Monday, as demonstrators chanted “Merkel needs to go”.

Angela Merkel has seen her popularity drop by at least 10 points over recent month, now standing at 59 per cent.

However she is still widely expected to win the upcoming election against rival Martin Schulz.”

  25. ‘LAST CHANCE!’ Eurosceptic leader blasts ‘outdated’ Schengen zone – will Italy QUIT EU? (express, Aug 18, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/842882/italy-eu-european-union-northern-league-matteo-salvini-schengen-zone

“THE EUROSCEPTIC leader of Italy’s rapidly growing Northern League party has laid into the European Union and said he wants to see “real change” – or there could be a Brexit-style split with the bloc.

Matteo Salvini, who has transformed the right-wing party from a regional political voice to a national populist force, has long been critical of Brussels and his bid to become leader could seriously threaten Italy’s continued membership of the EU.

With Italy’s national election less than a year away, Mr Salvini has revealed his plans to bring the right-wing party to power – and it involves a revision of “every European treaty”.

Speaking to Politico, the 44-year-old said: “We want to give Europe one last chance, but in return we want to see real change, especially when it comes to Schengen and the Dublin treaty.”

The Dublin Treaty mandates asylum seekers must be processed in the country of first arrival.

He added: “They are outdated and need to be reformed.”

Mr Salvini also slated the EU’s handling of the ongoing migrant crisis, with Italy one of the countries most affected by the unprecedented numbers of refugees arriving on European soil.

More than 100,000 people have arrived in Italy already this year, with EU leaders and officials saying that the vast majority are economic migrants who will not qualify for asylum.

Eurocrats and leaders including Angela Merkel have promised to speed up the rate of deportations to tackle the crisis, whilst plans are also being floated for the establishment of EU camps within Libya.

    However, Mr Salvini isn’t convinced.

He raged: “Europe has abandoned us to our destiny. And relocations are not working, we considered them as a joke and voted against it already two years ago when they were proposed.”

A recent Ixe poll revealed 48 per cent if right-wing voters consider Mr Salvini the leader of the right, while just 31 per cent think the same of Silvio Berlusconi, leader of the Forza Italia party and four-time prime minister.

While both Forza Italia and the Northern League are behind former prime minister Matteo Renzi’s Democratic Party, they could form a coalition with the far-right Brother of Italy which may even present them with the option to form a government.

Mr Salvini has been touted as the lead candidate in a potential coalition and believes he has what it takes to snatch victory for Italy’s right.

He added: “I will be the candidate, not Tajani, not Berlusconi. The party with the most votes gets to choose and so far that party is the Northern League.””

“Turkey’s president on Friday blamed Germany for escalating tensions, condemning the country’s mainstream parties and urging German-Turkish voters not to support them in upcoming elections.

Speaking to reporters in Istanbul, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey “bears no responsibility” to reduce tensions, adding Germany was the main party responsible.

Saying that the Social Democrats and the Christian Democrats were “battering Turkey” for votes in the upcoming federal election on September 24, Erdogan urged Turkish-Germans to not support any of the mainstream parties.

“Neither the Christian Democrats nor the SPD nor the Greens. they are all enemies of Turkey,” he said. Pointing out that there are nearly 1 million Turkish voters in Germany, he said that this is a matter of pride and added: “I think it is necessary for them to teach a lesson at the ballot box to these political parties who have attacked and disrespected Turkey.”

Relations between the two countries has increasingly soured in recent weeks. Turkey accuses Germany of providing a safe haven to Kurdish militants and suspects wanted for alleged links to last year’s failed coup, while Germany protests the arrest of several of its citizens in Turkey since the coup, including German-Turkish journalist Deniz Yucel who was detained in February on suspicion of aiding forbidden groups and German human rights campaigner Peter Steudtner detained among other activists for allegedly aiding an unspecified armed terror group…”

  31. GERMANY – Iran-born AfD politician investigated over Islamophobia accusations

Prosecutors in the southwest German city of Saarbrücken are investigating an Iran-born AfD politician over accusations that she made Islamophobic statements.
A prosecutor’s office spokeswoman said on Wednesday that AfD politician Laleh Hadjimohamadvali – a candidate in the upcoming national elections – is suspected of defamation of religious groups, as well as incitement to hatred.

Hadjimohamadvali was born in Iran and has said that she fled to Germany to get away from Islam in the 1980s after the 1979 Iranian Revolution led to the establishment of an Islamic Republic.

According to the Saarbrücker Zeitung, Hadjimohamadvali said during a party gathering on June 24th that Islam was “worse than the plague” because she said Muslims become stronger in Germany every day and are taking over an ever greater portion of the country.

A former member of the AfD reported the statements to authorities after the Saarbrücker Zeitung reported what she said.

The newspaper further writes that Hadjimohamadvali claims she has been blocked from Facebook multiple times in the past because of her posts.

Saarbrücken prosecutors are also deciding whether to investigate another AfD politician who wrote on Facebook regarding people-smuggling boats: “At best, all contents on board sink. Yes, I mean that seriously.” She further wrote that the “customers”, meaning refugees, who go to people smugglers act “like primates”.

The leading state candidate for the AfD in the national election, Christian Wirth, has distanced himself from both women, saying that the generalization and denigration of an entire religion is “not permissible”.

“There are also many peaceful Muslims in our country,” Wirth told the Saarbrücker Zeitung.

The AfD’s strong criticism of the German government’s refugee policies granting protection to people from mainly Muslim-majority countries in part helped the party grow in success in state parliament elections in recent years amid discontent with the handling of the refugee crisis.

But going into the national elections on September 24th, the party’s current polling figures shows their support has been roughly cut in half since reaching a high of around 14 percent in many polls last autumn. Current surveys now show them at between 7-9 percent – still enough to make it past the 5 percent threshold to gain seats in the Bundestag (German parliament) after they failed to meet the mark in their first election in 2013.
