“EMMANUEL Macron’s meddling in the Mediterranean migrant crisis has landed him in hot water all over again – this time with his own Government.
European Union leaders were left reeling when the French president unveiled designs to have France solve the mass migration issue between Libya and Italy.
Without consultation with Italy – the main destination for African migrants – Mr Macron announced he would open refugee camps in migrant hotspots in Africa to try and allocate genuine refugees before they make the deadly journey across the Mediterranean.
He wanted to set up clean and safe camps abroad to end the burden on the EU as thousands arrive every week.
However, undermining Italy infuriated Rome after leaders spent months trying to arrange help and migrant sharing with other EU nations.
Now, the pioneering promise has been slapped down in Paris.
French Interior Minister Gérard Collomb said such plans are extremely far off.
He said: “That type of initiative cannot be currently considered in Libya, due to the country’s situation.”
The minister said France will step up in the fight against migration through illegal channels.
Mr Collomb said instead the government would try to “reconcile efficiency with generosity” in dealing with asylum requests.

“DOZENS of sub-Saharan migrants crossed into Spain from Morocco in the early hours this morning after running through a border gate into the enclave of Ceuta, emergency services said.
Migrants frequently attempt to storm the borders of Spain’s two enclaves in northern Africa, Ceuta and Melilla, often clambering up fences which are up to six metres tall and topped by razor wire.
On Monday a group of more than 100 migrants ran through one gate in the fence usually used as a border control, surprising Moroccan and Spanish security forces, a witness told Reuters.
The Red Cross said it had assisted 186 people following the morning rush across the border, adding four migrants were taken to hospital.
Once inside Spain’s enclaves, migrants are usually taken to temporary shelters and later moved to the Spanish mainland, or returned to their country of origin.
Many migrants try to enter Spain as a means of reaching other parts of Europe. Arrivals through Ceuta and Melilla, as well as the number of migrants attempting to cross into Spain by sea from North Africa has risen this year, although the route between Libya and Italy remains the most popular.

23 of the Sunday Times’s top 50 universities were found to have substantially cut British undergraduate numbers since 2008.
The number of British undergraduates across all universities has fallen since 2008, despite 17% more applications being made, while the numbers of non-EU students, who can pay up to four times more than British and EU ones, has risen by 39%.
The investigation revealed that thousands of overseas students are being granted ‘fast-track’ admissions to leading British universities without A-levels or equivalent qualifications from their own countries, only being required to complete short foundation courses lasting as little as six months.
The courses, which typically cost between £15,000 and £23,000, are offered by private companies that have struck partnership deals with dozens of universities and promise foreign students a ‘guaranteed’ university place upon completion.
‘Don’t meet the entry requirements to apply directly to university? We can help,’ states INTO, one of the companies offering the courses, and offers ‘100% guaranteed progression to university.’
Another company, Study Group, is also heavily promoted by its agents in Singapore as offering a ‘100% guaranteed University place.’

Iran: Renault signs €660 mln deal to produce 150,000 cars a year in Iran
A three-way contract worth €660 million ($777 million) was signed between French car maker Renault, the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), and holding company Partov Negin Naseh in Tehran on Monday.
Under the deal, the French car manufacturer will produce 150,000 vehicles a year in Iran, adding to its current output in the country. It will also establish customer service centres around the country. A further phase of automobile production is scheduled to follow in 2019.

Iraq: Separated children of foreign IS fighters taken to Baghdad shelter
Several children, whose parents had allegedly come to Iraq from Chechnya and Kazakhstan to join the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL), were visited in the Al-Salihiya shelter, in Baghdad, Monday. The visit was made possible with the assistance of the Russian Embassy in Iraq, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and the Red Crescent.
Some 35 to 40 Russian children and up to 100 children from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have reportedly been placed in shelters in the Iraqi capital. A number of children have also been placed in shelters in Mosul and Kurdistan area.
Iraqi Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani noted that “some of the children came with foreign fighters and others were born after the formation of families” before adding that the Iraqi Ministry “cooperates with the security services and the organisations, especially the UNICEF, through the department that takes care of children and disabled people.”
In the last two weeks, two children were returned to Russia. One of the children, Bilal Tagirov, was just two years old when his father kidnapped and took him to Syria in October 2015 to fight for IS.
Sharia law doesn’t permit legal adoptions.
Put these kids up for adoption by Christian families in Russia. That’s their only chance.

The Shabwa operation was conducted “under the supervision of the UAE military and with the support of US military advisers who are not present in the field,” another high-ranking officer said.
He said the troops were Yemenis who were “trained for months” by UAE forces in Mukalla, in the Hadramawt province further east.
Several hundred well-armed and well-equipped soldiers make up Yemen’s “elite force” in Shabwa, the official added.
The province is home to several oil and gas fields, as well as Yemen’s only gas terminal Belhaf which was operated by French group Total until the company withdrew in 2015.
The oil giant pulled out of Yemen as the conflict intensified and a Saudi-led Arab military alliance, including the UAE, intervened on the side of the UN-backed government against Iran-aligned Houthi insurgents.
AQAP’s Shabwa stronghold has also been a focal point in a long-running American-led drone war which has intensified since President Donald Trump took office in January.
A US air raid on the province in June killed AQAP emir Abu Khattab al-Awlaqi, according to the Pentagon.

Israel’s Arrow 3 Is Perfect for Japan’s Missile Defense Needs
Should Japan buy the Arrow 3 missile defense system from Israel? Would Israel sell it to Japan? Japan has the U.S. THAAD system, the Patriot PAC-3, and the Aegis naval BMD, but none of these systems are ideal in the face of the North Korean missile threat.
The THAAD air defense system can only tackle missiles in the terminal phase of their flight and its tests have only been partially successful. The Israeli Arrow 3 system is the only ballistic missile defense system that has shot down an enemy rocket hundreds of miles from where it was launched. It can hit an enemy missile outside the atmosphere, above 100 km., and has a special type of hit-to-kill system that does not have the limitations of THAAD. It is perfect to meet Japan’s requirements for missile defense.
Yet Israel rightly worries about any compromises to its strategic systems, and Japan has a poor internal security infrastructure that is not good enough to provide the needed assurances to either the U.S. or Israel.
One way to disrupt North Korea’s missile testing program is to shoot down its test flight missiles. THAAD may not be able to do the job, nor will Aegis and certainly not Patriot. Israel’s Arrow 3 is the only defensive system around that is likely to knock out North Korea’s test flights.

WATCH: Israeli-made system aims to make the IED threat history
After three years of development, Israel Aerospace Industries has begun testing its Counter Improvised Explosive Device and Mine Suite mobile system.
The system can identify, locate and destroy improvised explosive devices and mines before troops even reach them.
According to project manager Reuven Y., the system, which is not yet operational, “is a new concept that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. It is a breakthrough technology against IEDs.”
Primarily intended for patrols during routine security missions on Israel’s borders, CIMS created by Elta, one of IAI’s subsidiaries, can detect both surface and underground IEDs, mines and roadside bombs.
“The CIMS suite was designed under the premise that no one sensor can provide the adequate probability of detection and low false-alarm rate required by today’s operational needs,” read a 2014 statement by IAI when the system was first unveiled.
With an above-surface detection system, and underground mine and IED detection system, CIMS can be installed on a number of tactical combat vehicles including tanks, APCs and even unmanned vehicles.
It can be operated day or night and in any weather condition and environment.

Turkish State-Owned Network Airs Television Drama Series Depicting Jews As Murderous And Conspiratorial
The Turkish television drama series Payitaht: Abdulhamid (roughly, “Sultan Abdulhamid”) began airing on February 24, 2017, on the Turkish state-owned TRT 1 television channel. The series comprised 17 episodes; the final episode aired June 23. According to the TRT 1 website, the series, which is set in the period from 1896 to 1909, aims to show “within the framework of the events of the last 13 years of the period of Sultan Abdulhamid II, while the Western states seek to design a ‘new century’ for themselves… the story of the valiant man [i.e. the sultan himself] who stands against them.”

Opposing groups clash in violent protests near downtown Portland; 3 arrested
PORTLAND, Ore. —
Several opposing marches and rallies quickly turned violent Sunday afternoon at Portland’s Waterfront, as police appeared to take a hands-off approach.
Participating groups included “Patriot Prayer,” which is led by Joey Gibson. They gathered at the Salmon Street Springs Fountain at 2 p.m. while a peaceful event, the Rally for Freedom, Solidarity, and Justice, was held at the Oregon Memorial Marine Park nearby at the Waterfront.
Members of “Antifa” initially showed up the peaceful rally, but quickly made their way to the Patriot Prayer “Freedom March” several blocks away. The two groups quickly clashed. Several violent fights were witnessed by KATU News crews throughout the area, but as opposed to previous protests, there was little to no police presence breaking up the groups.

Paul Ryan and Deputy AG Rosenstein have taken care to distinguish leakers (bad) from journalists (good). The leakers are bad. But the journalists just might be committing a public service.
“Leaks are concerning because leaks can often compromise national security, but that’s the problem of the leaker not the journalist,” Ryan said.
But that’s an odd formulation. The journalist is an American. Compromising national security should concern him. If it doesn’t, should he concern us?
The leakers and the journalists are not really separate classes. The old formula where the government employee reveals something to a journalist has given way to members of the opposition party in the media and the government coordinating with each other to do as much damage as possible to a Republican administration.

Bill Clinton was almost certainly the last Southern Democrat to sit in the White House. Obama took Arkansas from a Democrat trifecta to a Republican trifecta. Trump beat Hillary on her husband’s home turf by 60% to 33%. But Bill may also be the last white Democrat to make it to the White House.
Democrats have three choices in 2020.
They can try running a white New England leftist like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren who will appeal to the white college leftist base, they can take a shot at a minority progressive like Deval Patrick or Cory Booker who will bring out the minority vote and the progressives, or they can take a gamble on a general candidate who might still appeal to working class white voters like Joe Biden.
Obama’s people are pushing Patrick. Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s Ethel Gumm, gushes that Patrick is what “my heart desires.” He’s also what the demographic transformation of the Democrats requires.

The level of anti-Semitism in the Visegrad countries differs. In 2014, an ADL study asked 11 basic questions concerning classic anti-Semitic attitudes in a number of countries. It found that 45% of Poles harbor anti-Semitic attitudes. In Hungary the figure is 41%, and in the Czech Republic 13%. No data is available for Slovakia.
When asked if Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust, 62% of Poles responded yes, with 61% of Hungarians agreeing. 44% of Czech citizens answered affirmatively to the same question.
In 2004, I interviewed Mark Sofer, then Deputy Director General of the Israeli Foreign Ministry. At that time the Visegrad countries and several others had just joined the EU. He said: “Conventional wisdom tells us that the accession of these countries to the EU is positive for Israel. For once, conventional wisdom may well be correct.”
He has indeed been proven correct. These and other central European countries often support Israel in a frequently politically hostile EU. They are also important for Israeli investors.
Another reason these countries are important not only for Israel but also for European Jewry is that they oppose immigration. The immigrants are to a large extent Muslims from the Middle East. Brussels and the leaders of European countries know well that most Muslim immigrants have been indoctrinated with extreme anti-Semitic propaganda from childhood. An advisor to the European court wants it to reject the challenge by Hungary and Slovakia against the EU European council decision that EU members must take in hundreds of asylum-seekers.
Yet the EU leaders do not care. The decent thing would have been to vet Muslims immigrating into Europe so that these so-called liberal democracies would not have admitted anti-Semitic immigrants. As this is not the case, the policy of the Visegrad countries not to receive immigrants is preferable. In this way in future at least a few European countries where Muslim anti-Semitic hatemongers will not play a prominent role.

California Plotting to Defy Sanctuary City Crackdown
What the radical state attorney general has up his sleeve.
The Trump administration aims to withhold nearly $18 million in federal grant money from states that offer sanctuary to illegals. California’s attorney general Xavier Becerra is pondering a plan to grab the federal money and still protect those who entered the country illegally.
A Sacramento Bee report cites a “former Justice Department official familiar with California officials’ thinking.” According to this unnamed official, the federal conditions are “illegal,” and “if Congress wanted these requirements to be part of the grant funding decision, they would have written it into the law.”
In this view, only Congress has the power to set conditions for grant money, and Becerra should sue the Trump administration to get the funds. According to the Bee report, “one source cautioned” that the attorney general could still change his mind.
Becerra, a veteran of the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano De Aztlan, was once in contention as a running mate for Hillary Clinton. As a congressman, Becerra blocked funds for the war on terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda, claiming that he wanted to avoid “another Vietnam.” He also voted against a commendation for US troops’ service in Iraq.

During his undergraduate years, Shehadeh was heavily involved in the Boycott, Divestment, & Sanctions (BDS) movement, a Hamas-inspired initiative that aims to use public protest and economic pressure to advance the Hamas agenda of permanently discrediting and destroying Israel as a Jewish state. Toward that end, BDS strives to create the false impression that Israel is a habitual human-rights violator guilty of subjecting its Palestinian neighbors to brutal campaigns of “apartheid,” “ethnic cleansing,” “war crimes,” “crimes against humanity,” and “genocide.”
In support of BDS’s views and objectives, Shehadeh served as the organizing chair of divestment on the UC Davis campus. He was also a member of the local chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), a highly influential organization whose propaganda commonly echoes much of what is said by Hamas jihadists. Indeed, SJP’s principal founder, Professor Hatem Bazian, has quoted approvingly from a famous Islamic hadith which calls for the violent slaughter of Jews and which appears in Hamas’s founding charter.

New York and California are the two leading blue states. They have enormous cultural heft and wealth. And yet they’re governed in ways a banana republic would despair of.
The California legislature is in the middle of a civil war over a single payer socialized medicine bill that didn’t pass because there isn’t enough money in California to pay for its $400 billion price tag. Instead of figuring out a sane health care plan, the nurses’ union, whose disproportionate political power seems in proportion to its fanatical madness, decided to launch a civil war among the Democrats.
Meanwhile over in New York, Governor Cuomo and Mayor De Blasio are in a race to the very bottom of political trolling. After the governor demanded that New York City help pay for the subway (which magically began falling apart in recent years), the mayor proposed an unworkable tax on the “wealthy” to pay for it. Said tax having to be passed by the state legislature.

On August 2, 2016, 30 year-old Karina Vetrano went for a run.
It’s the last time that her family would see her alive.
While going for a routine jog in a park in her Howard Beach neighborhood in the borough of Queens, New York, she was viciously beaten, raped vaginally and anally, and then strangled to death.
It would be months before the NYP would find her rapist and killer, 20 year-old Chanel Lewis of Brooklyn. Lewis told police: “She didn’t do anything. I was just mad at the time. I beat her to let my emotions out. I never really meant to hurt her. It just happened.”
As I write this, it is exactly one year later to the day that the Vetranos lost their Karina. Of his family’s emotional condition as of the first anniversary of the unthinkable, the slain woman’s father told Fox News: “We’re not doing good, we’re not doing well at all.” He added: “Other than the fact that we lost our daughter, and our lives have ended, no, nothing else has changed.”
