“Milan, August 3 – A man was held by police on Thursday after allegedly setting light to a Milan bar with a number of people inside, sources said.

The man, a Moroccan, took to arson at around 11.00 after reportedly being told to leave the bar because he did not want to pay for some drinks.

The bar owner knew the man because he was a “drug dealer” and an “annoyance”, sources said. No one was hurt.”

  2. EU membership talks with Turkey should not be halted, Juncker says (hurriyetdailynews, Aug 3, 2017)
    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/eu-membership-talks-with-turkey-should-not-be-halted-juncker-says.aspx?pageID=238&nID=116311&NewsCatID=510

“European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has said enlargement talks with Turkey should not be halted “on paper at least,” in an interview with the U.S. political magazine Politico published on Aug. 3.

“Turkey is our neighbor, we can’t simply let it slip into oblivion. I am not in favor of ending the accession talks with Turkey, which is a demand from the European Parliament,” Juncker was quoted as saying…”

    • Jean-Claude, Turkey will not slip away. Erdogan will assure that you and your elite comrades are the first to hang should he succeed in capturing Europe in the new caliphate. But thanks for worrying about the Gobbler. You’re too kind. Ataturk would’ve shot you for the opposite reason.

  3. UK Government Censors Files on Saudi Military Links (breitbart, Aug 3, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/08/03/uk-government-censors-files-saudi-military-links//

“The government has censored the release of files detailing Britain’s military relationship with the fundamentalist, Islamist Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Amongst the censored files from 1986 and 1987 are 15 relating to Saudi Arabia, including one on the “sale of Tornado and Hawk aircraft” and “training for Saudi Arabian special forces”, The Times reports.

The government retained another 27 papers connected to Prince Charles and Lady Diana’s visit to the Middle East in 1986.

A further 40 files relating to India, including files on UK defence sales and the Indian national security guard, were also withheld….

In late 2015, the government published a report on the Muslim Brotherhood, the findings of which stated that the international Sunni Islamist group has exerted “significant influence” on the UK’s largest Islamic organisation, the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB). However, the review was only partially released, the rest remaining classified.

The released portions of the report stated that the Muslim Brotherhood “at all levels have repeatedly defended Hamas attacks against Israel, including the use of suicide bombers and the killing of civilians” and “facilitate funding for Hamas”, as well as senior figures in the organisation justifying attacks against coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, who stated that “It is in the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.” In January 2017, Breitbart News reported that President Donald Trump was considering designating the Qatari-backed Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organisation.

And at the beginning of June 2017, the Home Office admitted the “very sensitive” findings of an investigation into Saudi funded extremism in the UK would also not be published…”

  4. Austria: Turkish Halal Butchers Guilty of ‘Bloodbath’ Animal Cruelty (breitbart, Aug 3, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/08/03/austria-turkish-halal-butchers-guilty-bloodbath-animal-cruelty/

“An Austrian court has found 12 men guilty of cruelty to animals for causing 79 sheep unnecessary suffering while slaughtering them.

The Muslim ritual slaughter of livestock by cutting their throats and letting them bleed to death is widespread and supporters argue that it isn’t cruel if done properly.

But prosecutors in the southern city of Graz argued that the men, most of them Turks or of Turkish origins, used knives that weren’t sharp and didn’t stun or sedate the animals.

Judge Helmut Wlasak spoke Thursday of a “bloodbath,” saying the men lacked the skills for proper ritual slaughter. He fined the organizer 1,260 euros ($1,500) and sentenced him to a suspended nine-month jail term.

Six other accused who didn’t show up will be tried later.”

“The Saudi government has been forcibly relocating residents of the restive city of Awamiya as clashes continue between soldiers and militant groups in the old city.

Hundreds of people have fled or been evacuated from Awamiya since the beginning of the current troubles which have killed at least seven people, including two police officers. According to al-Hayat newspaper, the government received requests from residents and farmers around Awamiya to help them flee the violence.

However, activists say that residents have been driven out of their homes and their properties seized by private development companies, primarily in and around the historic Almosara district…”

  6. US-backed Yemeni troops attack al Qaeda in southern state (memo, Aug 4, 2017)
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20170804-us-backed-yemeni-troops-attack-al-qaeda-in-southern-state/

“Yemeni troops, backed by the United States and the United Arab Emirates, conducted raids against the local affiliate of al Qaeda in Shabwa province on Thursday, the Emirati state news agency WAM said.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has taken advantage of a civil war pitting the Houthi movement against the Saudi-backed government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to try to widen its control and influence in Yemen.

“Since early morning on Thursday, Yemeni troops and Hadrami (from Hadramout province) Elite Forces, with US and UAE backing, moved to smash elements of the terrorist organisations, especially AQAP,” WAM reported.

WAM did not say what kind of support the UAE and US militaries had provided or give details on the outcome of the raids.

Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE ambassador to the United States, confirmed the operation in a statement issued later Thursday…”

  7. Australia terror probe: Plane suspects ‘made two plots’ (BBC, Aug 4, 2017)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-40822310

“Two men accused of a terror plot to bring down a plane with a bomb were also trying to build a device that could release toxic gas, Australian police allege.

The first plot involved placing an improvised explosive device on an Etihad flight out of Sydney on 15 July, according to Australian Federal Police.

The other, a gas “dispersion” device, was not close to fruition, police said.

Investigators said the alleged plots had been “completely disrupted”.

“This is one of the most sophisticated plots that has ever been attempted on Australian soil,” said Deputy Commissioner Michael Phelan.

Mr Phelan said the first plot involved a “high-end” military-grade explosive, but it did not get through check-in.

“There is a bit of conjecture [about] why it did not get through the baggage check-in, but I want to make it quite clear – it never got near [security] screening,” he said.

The components of the explosive were allegedly sent from Turkey by an senior figure within so-called Islamic State (IS).

They were transported to Australia via air cargo, he said.

The second alleged plan involved creating an improvised chemical device that was designed to release toxic hydrogen sulphide, or “rotten egg gas”.

However, Mr Phelan said that plan was not close to being realised when police conducted raids on Saturday and arrested four men.

Two of those men appeared in a Sydney court on Friday charged with “preparing for, or planning, a terrorist attack”.

Another man was released on Tuesday while the fourth remains in police custody.

Police allege one of the men who has been charged was put in contact with an IS figure in April.
Police have spent the week gathering evidence following the raids in the Sydney suburbs of Lakemba, Punchbowl, Surry Hills, Wiley Park and Bankstown.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said the suspected plot had been “disrupted and contained”.”

    • It is a great post, the problem is that we don’t have an informed electorate who will make rational decisions. We have a propagandized indoctrinated electorate who vote the way they are told by the propaganda media.

      • It seems to me that the way people live their lives does not match up to the way they vote.

I recently had lunch with a few friends. One, who is a big Hillary supporter started up. I interrupted her by relating this story to her.
I told her that, someone that I’ve known for years, that I voted for Trump. He looked at me, as if it was for the first time. He looked at me as if I was evil. I was a little taken back by this. I continued to tell her that I didn’t think that anyone that voted for Hillary was evil. I think that they are just ill-informed or are just too busy with their lives that they don’t take the time to do a little research on their own. Ill-informed, yes. Evil, no.

I don’t even bother sending her info. Her ego will not allow her to read it. Maybe her ill-informed self will seek out the info.

        • An all too typical story of the times. In fact it would not be surprising if your ‘friend’ actually outed you to people who might hurt you in one way or another, socially, business etc. because you voted Trump and would feel perfectly OK with this.

We are the Soviet Union now.

          • No, she is not that way. She does have a good heart. We go way back to kindergarden. After I told her that story, my other kindergarden friend chime in with “I voted for Trump too!” Well that stopped the Hillary talk 🙂

That’s why I said above that the way people live their lives does not match up to the way they vote.

She will not out me because she would have to out her whole family because most of them are Trump supporters. 🙂

  8. Greenspan: Bond bubble about to break because of ‘abnormally low’ interest rates

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan issued a bold warning Friday that the bond market is on the cusp of a collapse that also will threaten stock prices.

In a CNBC interview, the long-time central bank chief said the prolonged period of low interest rates is about to end and, with it, a bull market in fixed income that has lasted more than three decades.

“The current level of interest rates is abnormally low and there’s only one direction in which they can go, and when they start they will be rather rapid,” Greenspan said on “Squawk Box.”

That low interest rate environment has been the product of current monetary policy at the institution he helmed from 1987-2006. The Fed took its benchmark rate to near-zero during the financial crisis and kept it there for seven years after.

  9. Venezuela’s currency crumbles at dizzying speed

    CARACAS (AFP) –

Venezuela’s money, the bolivar, is sinking faster and faster under an intensifying political and economic crisis that has left citizens destitute and increasingly desperate.

Its depreciation accelerated this week, after a disputed vote electing an all-powerful “Constituent Assembly” filled with allies of President Nicolas Maduro, which the opposition and dozens of countries have called illegitimate.

On Thursday alone, the bolivar slumped nearly 15 percent on the black market, to be worth 17,000 to one US dollar.

In a year, the currency has lost 94 percent.

The decline has been dizzying — yet largely ignored by the government, which uses an official rate fixed weekly that is currently 2,870 to the dollar.

Ordinary Venezuelans, however, refer only to the black market rate they have access to, which they call the “dolar negro,” or “black dollar.”

“Every time the black dollar goes up, you’re poorer,” resignedly said Juan Zabala, an executive in a reinsurance business in Caracas.

NORTH Korea has declared Donald Trump was sitting on the “knife edge of life and death” and that he should brace himself for “gift packages”.

But meanwhile one of US President Trump’s aids has warned crackpot Kim Jong-un to “not sleep easily at night” as the Pentagon plans for war.

  12. North Korea could soon develop a hydrogen bomb more powerful than the atomic bombs dropped on Japan

As if the news out of North Korea wasn’t bad enough, things might get a lot worse within the next 18 months. We should not be surprised if the Communist dictatorship develops a hydrogen bomb – the ultimate atomic weapon – with the potential to kill millions of people.

A Defense Department official I spoke to recently on the condition of not revealing his name told me it now appears the North Koreans are working to finish development of an H-bomb, and that they could succeed in as soon as six to 18 months. Such a bomb would be many times more powerful than the atomic bombs the United States dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan that led to the end of World War II.

  13. Senators move to protect Mueller inquiry from Trump interference

    WASHINGTON

Special Counsel Robert Mueller III received a bipartisan boost from Capitol Hill on Thursday, even as news broke that he’d moved to a more serious phase of his investigation of Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election and whether Donald Trump’s campaign or associates colluded with Moscow to help him win the presidency.

In a clear warning to the president not to mess with Mueller, two bipartisan sets of senators Thursday proposed laws that would require judicial oversight of the firing of a special counsel.

Angered over the ongoing Russia probe, Trump has talked about firing Mueller. Meanwhile, the special counsel, who has been on the job less than three months, has recently impaneled a grand jury in Washington, the logical next step in the inquiry, which has been built on many months of investigating by the FBI.

    • Canada had better watch out, the US is catching up in the race to see which one is going to reach Third World Status first. We have a run away prosecutor who is working to help the Deep State in their quiet coup against the duly elected President.

Combine this info with my first post about Greenspan saying the Bond Bubble is about to burst, then add in the post on North Korea and the news from earlier this week about the way various nations are moving personnel and equipment into place to move once we are tied down with more wars then we have the military to fight.

  14. Jeff Flake’s op-ed is basically the reason Trump is carrying the GOP standard today
    By J.E. Dyer August 3, 2017

Regular readers know how many times I’ve said this, but I need to say it again. I didn’t vote for Trump. I’m not writing here as a dyed-in-the-wool Trumpista. I have some significant differences with his policies, and I don’t dispute that he has flaws.

That doesn’t mean I think he’s horrifying, or that I don’t want him, his voters, and America to get a fair shake. In fact, it seems like I spend most of my blogging time now pointing out that he’s not getting a fair shake. And I certainly want him to succeed on the things I agree with him on, such as reforming the tax code, repealing Obamacare, and otherwise reducing regulation.

At any rate, if you must pigeonhole me, call me a Reagan conservative. I think of myself as a “legacy conservative,” having been one from before there were “neo-cons” and “Moral Majority” cons and Compassionate Conservatives and Social-versus-Fiscal-Con Gladiators. It wouldn’t do a lot of good to enunciate a laundry list of positions; some people would nod in pleased agreement, and other would simply start reacting negatively if their own positions weren’t being endorsed or reflected in the terms they prefer. Such is the time we live in.

Richard: click through and read the rest, she does a good job on deconstructing the editorial that upset her and I agree with what she says. I wanted Rick Perry, then I wanted Ted Cruz but supported Trump when he won. Now we are seeing the never Trumpers coming out and blaming the conservative movement as a whole for the never Trumpers faults.

When first read that this election was sounding the death knell for both major political parties I thought the columnists were crazy, now it is looking like both parties are committed to the idea of suicide.

We are sailing in uncharted waters during a major hurricane in a very leaky boat. To make matters worse part of the crew are intent on mutiny and foreign pirates are sailing close to attack us.

  16. NSC down: The battle is on for the Trump administration
    By J.E. Dyer August 3, 2017

In evaluating National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster’s seemingly sudden decision to “purge” key Trump hires on the National Security Council, it is essential to go back two days and remember what happened on Tuesday (1 August).

McMaster isn’t doing this for his health, in a contextual vacuum. Nor is there any way to justify seeing the events I will discuss here as unrelated. This week marks the direct, gloves-off engagement of the “Obama-holdovers/deep state” – separate groups that intersect on the NSC – with the Trump administration, in a battle for control of national security policy.

What happened on 1 August? The House Intelligence Committee named Obama NSC aide Ben “Echo Chamber” Rhodes as a person of interest in its probe of “unmaskings” done by Obama officials during the 2016 election cycle.

Circa’s Sara Carter broke the story:

The House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-CA, sent the letter to the National Security Agency requesting the number of unmaskings made by Rhodes from Jan. 1, 2016 to Jan. 20, 2017, according to congressional sources who spoke with Circa. Rhodes, who worked closely with former National Security Adviser Susan Rice and was a former deputy national security adviser for strategic communications for President Obama, became a focus of the committee during its review of classified information to assess whether laws were broken regarding NSA intercepted communications of President Trump, members of his administration and other Americans before and after the election, according to congressional officials. The committee is requesting that the NSA deliver the information on Rhodes by August, 21.

Immediately after Ben Rhodes was named in the House Intel investigation, H.R. McMaster fired a key Trump loyalist whose name few may recognize: Ezra Cohen-Watnick.

The Israel angle on McMaster’s purge of Trump loyalists from the National Security Council is that all of these people are pro-Israel and oppose the Iran nuclear deal, positions that Trump holds.
McMaster in contrast is deeply hostile to Israel and to Trump. According to senior officials aware of his behavior, he constantly refers to Israel as the occupying power and insists falsely and constantly that a country named Palestine existed where Israel is located until 1948 when it was destroyed by the Jews.
Many of you will remember that a few days before Trump’s visit to Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – ?????? ?????? and his advisers were blindsided when the Americans suddenly told them that no Israeli official was allowed to accompany Trump to the Western Wall.
What hasn’t been reported is that it was McMaster who pressured Trump to agree not to let Netanyahu accompany him to the Western Wall. At the time, I and other reporters were led to believe that this was the decision of rogue anti-Israel officers at the US consulate in Jerusalem. But it wasn’t. It was McMaster.
And even that, it works out wasn’t sufficient for McMaster. He pressured Trump to cancel his visit to the Wall and only visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial — ala the Islamists who insist that the only reason Israel exists is European guilt over the Holocaust.

  17. The Muslim Americans leading the push to ‘stand up and be leaders’ in politics (theguardian, Aug 4, 2017)
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/04/muslim-americans-leading-the-way-us-politics-office-congress

“More Muslims must seek public office as Donald Trump “fans the flames of Islamophobia”, according to André Carson, who is one of just two Muslim members of the US Congress.

The congressman from Indiana spoke as Muslim communities across the United States voice fears of a growing climate of Islamophobia under the US president.

Carson criticised Trump in an interview with the Guardian, adding that while there is “no easy answer”, misconceptions over the Islamic faith perpetuated by the administration should serve as motivation for more Muslims to engage in the political process…

Informal surveys indicate New Jersey leading the way, with at least 14 Muslim Americans currently in public office.

After Trump signed an executive order seeking to ban immigrants from certain Muslim-majority countries, one advocacy group, Jetpac, launched a formal campaign designed to encourage more Muslims to run for local office and adopt a more active role in community organizing.

American Muslims in Michigan have gained significant success in running for elected office, and Abdul El-Sayed, the former Detroit health commissioner, recently announced a run for governor in 2018.

El-Sayed, who would become America’s first Muslim governor if elected, said: “The vote for the current president was not a vote of inspiration. It was a vote of fear and cynicism. We have to believe in the unifying idea of us – the people.”…

In a comment for the Guardian, Abboud wrote: “It is true that Muslims in America are facing a tidal wave of discrimination, flowing forth from the policies of the current administration and affecting every corner of American society. Clearly, it is more important than ever that we confront the insidiousness that is Islamophobia.

“But how? While Muslims pride themselves on being up to date on national politics, as well as being well-versed in world events, when it comes to local politics Muslims are mostly absent. Many Muslims only vote in the presidential elections, if they vote at all.

“We’re all busy. We all have families and responsibilities that need our attention. But the time for sitting back and letting others take the lead and do the heavy lifting is over. We have to stop looking around for the perfect leader, and start standing up and being leaders…

“I think [Muslims] are concerned about Trump fanning the flames of Islamophobia, the anti-immigrant sentiment, and really encouraging the darker elements of our society to become more pronounced in their intolerance and their bigotry. I think that’s disappointing, but I think there’s a silver lining, and that silver lining suggests there’s an increase in interest in American political life. There’s a great drive for people to become more engaged politically, and we have a responsibility to maintain, preserve and improve our democracy.

“One of the things that I do when I go across the country, I’ll ask how many Muslims are in this particular city or how many Muslims are in the entire state? And even though the Muslim community is not a monolith, there is a mutual interest, even though there are different schools of thought. Usually when there’s a sizable enough number … [I tell them] to focus on building a PAC or even supporting a non-Muslim candidate who is focused on standing up the rights of Muslims.

“The reality is Muslims have been in this country since the inception of this country. We have just as much a right to it as any other citizen in the United States. Embrace the fact that this country is ours and let’s engage in the political process. If you’re interested in running for political office, don’t just step out there, learn, do the research. Identify a campaign that shares your values, some part of it, go door to door, phone bank, help develop policy papers, find your niche and go for it.””

“Turkey is opening a military training camp in Somalia in September, the Anadolu Agency reported.

The camp has been under construction for the past two years, Somali Defence Minister Abdirashid Abdullahi Mohamed confirmed in a statement yesterday. The camp will be used for security and military forces in the Turkish Army.

Some 200 Turkish soldiers will be stationed at the base in Somalia, involved in training exercises. It is unclear whether the troops will be involved in any other conflict related mission.

Up to 1,500 troops can be stationed at the camp at one time in what will become Turkey’s larges overseas base.

  19. Report: UAE fighting Brotherhood not Houthis in Yemen (memo, Aug 4, 2017)
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20170804-report-uae-fighting-brotherhood-not-houthis-in-yemen/

“The United Arab Emirates currently runs 18 “secret prisons” in Yemen, the French newspaper Le Monde has revealed.

An investigation published by the newspaper stated that the UAE-run prisons contain numerous Yemeni detainees.

A number of Yemeni prisoners, who have been transferred to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, were also interrogated by investigators from the US, according to the newspaper.

The UAE has repeatedly stressed that it had entered Yemen to fight the Houthi militant group, but Le Monde reported that its real goal is to fight the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Al-Islah Party.

Abu Dhabi, the newspaper pointed out, supplies the Abu Al-Abbas Shia militia with weapons to fight the Sunni Al-Islah Party in Taiz.

In late June, Human Rights Watch formed a panel to investigate reports about secret prisons in Yemen where inmates have been tortured. The organisation accused the UAE of operating two informal detention facilities in Yemen.

Yemeni jails, in which detainees were reported to have been tortured, are built in military bases, airports and ports.”

  20. ‘Germany in three days and France in one hour’ Shock threat to EU from Erdogan backers (express, Aug 4, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/837041/Turkey-shock-threat-Germany-EU-war-France-Erdogan-storm

“WARMONGERING rhetoric is being spewed by Turkey towards Europe after a newspaper close to the Turkish regime declared the country could overrun Germany in three days.

Newspaper Yeni Söz, closely aligned to the government, made the outlandish claim on the front page of its daily newspaper.

Carrying the provocative headline “Turkey can occupy Europe within 3 days”, the move is the latest in a political spat between Ankara and Berlin.

Turkey has been vying to join the EU for more than a decade, with official negotiants to become a member dragging into their 12th year.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attempted to use the migrant crisis as a bargaining chip, striking a deal with Brussels over the crisis in exchange for political sweeteners, which included kick-starting their membership bid.

But relations have turned sour with the EU, in particular Germany, and the two countries have been engaged in a public spat over the past few months.

The paper’s absurd claims appear to be a no more than a childish dig at Berlin, as it is a feat unlikely to be achieved.

Despite the outlandish statement, the paper attempts to back up its declaration by building their theory on a thesis of the American political scientist George Friedman, founder of the geopolitics institute Stratfor.

The paper said: “Friedman said the Turks could defeat Germany in one afternoon and France in one hour, if they have the courage to fight.

“If you believe the international research institute Gallup, that asked people if they would fight for their country, then the Europeans have already taken out the white flags in the event of a war.

“Germany is abandoned by its citizens. If we start in the morning, we can have our evening prayer in Bellevue Castle.”

The paper references a two-year-old survey which reportedly gaged how likely citizens were to fight for their country.

They pointed towards the results which said 18 per cent of Germans would fight for their country, compared to 29 per cent of the French and 27 per cent of the British.

The barmy jingoism is not far off statements Mr Erdogan himself has made.

In April he described Europe as a “centre of national socialism”.

That same month he called the EU “a continent that is rotting in every which way”.

And he also made reference to going to war with the EU, saying in another interview: “If you continue to behave like this, not a single European will be able to securely take a step on a road anywhere in the world by tomorrow.”

The bitter row between Germany and Turkey has seen relations steadily deteriorate.

Recently Berlin issued new travel warnings for tourists visiting the country, and foreign minister Sigmar Gabriel said he could no longer guarantee investment in Turkey following accusations made by Mr Erdogan.”

    • Sounds optimistic to me, even with the number of invaders already in Europe.

When and Where is WWIII going kinetic?

      • Erdogan is likely correct: I do not doubt that he has that ability.

It is not just about the number of Muslim soldiers already positioned in key places in Europe, it is also about the control Erdogan has over the police and military in Europe by placing key people within their infrastructures and buying the politicians who command them.

It is also about the feminised European men who are unable to fight, and even if they were, are likely unable to because they are unarmed and untrained and taught that self-defense is wrong.

So, yes, Europe – with the exception of the Visegard 4 and further East – can indeed be Erdogan’s within days.

    • BREITBART – PICS: 850,000 migrants in Turkey Paid Cash by European Union

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — A European Union official says more than 850,000 people are now benefiting from a EU-funded project that provides cash assistance to the most vulnerable refugee families in Turkey.

The program, billed as the EU’s largest humanitarian program, provides debit cards to the most disadvantaged families allowing them to buy food and meet other needs.

It was launched last year following an agreement in which the EU pledged 3 billion euros to help Syrian migrants in Turkey in return for Turkish assistance in curbing illegal migration to Europe.

Jane Lewis, head of the EU humanitarian aid office in Turkey, said Friday that the program aims to assist 1.3 million refugees by the end of the year.

Turkey hosts more than 3 million mostly-Syrian refugees.

This is a video by Ezra regarding The Rebel’s tenuous situation on YouTube.
I think he is right. We here at Vlad’s have seen numerous examples of Google/YouTube censoring speech in Europe, China, etc. Just this week Jordan Peterson’s channel was taken down without notice or explanation. He immediately went public through the Daily Caller and this news spread very quickly. Presto! The channel was restored.
Louder With Crowder is another YouTube channel that has been demonetized as has The Rubin Report. Crowder joined the CRTV family to generate money through subscriptions, even though they continue to post videos to YouTube without ads probably to introduce viewers to their content.
I was a Sun News watcher and followed the destruction of that network closely. I have been amazed at how quickly The Rebel has expanded and it is my thinking that they must have some pretty heavy backers for their expansion, just as CRTV does.
Ezra says they need $300K to go independent from YouTube. I think this is the wave of the future as YouTube, Google, Facebook become more and more ideologically assertive and left wing and totalitarian gov’ts demand compliance.
I’ve actually pondered how much longer this blog will be able to exist in Canada. If you used a server in the US would you be able to get around the increasing restrictions on speech that are happening at an alarming pace in Canada? Kind of like pirate radio?

  22. Congressional Investigation Into Wasserman Schultz IT Scandal Moves Forward
Congress demands briefing from Capitol Police, moves to investigate

Congress is advancing an investigation into a growing scandal surrounding IT staffers working for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.), who are accused of stealing sensitive computer equipment from House lawmakers’ offices, according to senior congressional sources who told the Washington Free Beacon the Democratic leader’s refusal to answer questions could “merit resignation.”

Congressional leaders have now requested a formal briefing by Capitol Police into its investigation of several Pakistani House IT staffers who are accused of stealing sensitive computer equipment and of illegally penetrating congressional networks.

Imran Awan, one of the staffers who worked for Wasserman Schultz and several other Democratic members of Congress, was arrested this week when trying to travel to Pakistan and charged with bank fraud after a months-long investigation that found he wired nearly $300,000 to that country. Several other staffers tied to Awan are the focus of an investigation into claims they stole sensitive equipment and illegally penetrated the House IT network.

  24. Danger Signs for Israel Coming From Parts of Trump Administration

Israel and its supporters in the West are seeing danger signs coming from parts of the Trump Administration. Since taking office, the camp that views Israel as a liability and “root cause” of Islamic extremism has been gaining ground. That camp is at odds with those who view the Islamist ideology as the root cause and believes it must be defeated for there to be peace in the Middle East.
State Dept. Report Blames Israel, Exonerates Palestinian Authority

The biggest danger sign for America’s best ally in the Middle East came with the recent release of the State Department’s annual Country Reports on Terrorism. It blamed Israel for sparking terrorism while applauding the Palestinian Authority’s counter-extremism efforts.

The report frames Palestinian terrorism as a response to Israeli misconduct, with no attribution to an Islamist ideology or culture with a genocidal desire to wipe Israel off the map. Palestinian terrorism is essentially presented as a form of “resistance” motivated by legitimate grievances against Israeli actions. In other words, the terrorists are misguided freedom fighters.

The identified “continued drivers of violence” are listed as a “lack of hope in achieving Palestinian statehood, Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank, settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, the perception that the Israeli government was changing the status quo on the Haram Al Sharif/Temple Mount, and IDF tactics that the Palestinians considered overly aggressive.”

  26. The Military Options for North Korea

    by John R. Bolton
    August 3, 2017 at 10:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10767/north-korea-military-options

North Korea test-launched on Friday its first ballistic missile potentially capable of hitting America’s East Coast. It thereby proved the failure of 25 years of U.S. nonproliferation policy. A single-minded rogue state can pocket diplomatic concessions and withstand sustained economic sanctions to build deliverable nuclear weapons. It is past time for Washington to bury this ineffective “carrots and sticks” approach.

America’s policy makers, especially those who still support the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, should take careful note. If Tehran’s long collusion with Pyongyang on ballistic missiles is even partly mirrored in the nuclear field, the Iranian threat is nearly as imminent as North Korea’s. Whatever the extent of their collaboration thus far, Iran could undoubtedly use its now-unfrozen assets and cash from oil-investment deals to buy nuclear hardware from North Korea, one of the world’s poorest nations.

    • The military option is the only one we have left, the peace at any cost crowd has kicked the North Korean can down hte road to the point where war is the only choice. And when we are planning the military action we need to plan for war to bread out in other areas. We can’t let this threat to stop us from taking our Korea because if we don’t hit them preemptively they will hit us.

    • the right scoop – FBI email dump reveals collusion between media and DOJ to squash 2016 Lynch Clinton meeting

      + video

A new email dump from the FBI via a FOIA request by the ACLJ reveals what appears to be collusion between the media and the DOJ to squash the story about the 2016 meeting between Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton on the tarmac in Phoenix, AZ.

Also Comey reportedly said the FBI had no documents related to this meeting to fill a prior FOIA request. That apparently isn’t true, given this new email dump.

Here’s the writeup from the ACLJ on this for more. The links mostly go to emails from the FBI dump on their website that back up their claims.

(I’ll post the emails about media collusion with the DOJ at the bottom.)

      First…

First, the Comey FBI lied to us. Last July, we sent FOIA requests to both the Comey FBI and the Lynch DOJ asking for any documents related to the Clinton Lynch plane meeting. The FBI, under the then directorship of James Comey, quickly replied that “No records responsive to your request were located.”

The documents we received today from the Department of Justice include several emails from the FBI to DOJ officials concerning the meeting. One with the subject line “FLAG” was correspondence between FBI officials (Richard Quinn, FBI Media/Investigative Publicity, and Michael Kortan) and DOJ officials concerning “flag[ing] a story . . . about a casual, unscheduled meeting between former president Bill Clinton and the AG.” The DOJ official instructs the FBI to “let me know if you get any questions about this” and provides “[o]ur talkers [DOJ talking points] on this”. The talking points, however are redacted.

Another email to the FBI contains the subject line “security details coordinate between Loretta Lynch/Bill Clinton?”

On July 1, 2016 – just days before our FOIA request – a DOJ email chain under the subject line, “FBI just called,” indicates that the “FBI . . . is looking for guidance” in responding to media inquiries about news reports that the FBI had prevented the press from taking pictures of the Clinton Lynch meeting. The discussion then went off email to several phone calls (of which we are not able to obtain records). An hour later, Carolyn Pokomy of the Office of the Attorney General stated, “I will let Rybicki know.” Jim Rybicki was the Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor to FBI Director Jim Comey. The information that was to be provided to Rybicki is redacted.

Also of note several of the documents contain redactions that are requested “per FBI.”

It is clear that there were multiple records within the FBI responsive to our request and that discussions regarding the surreptitious meeting between then AG Lynch and the husband of the subject of an ongoing FBI criminal investigation reached the highest levels of the FBI.

However, on October 21, 2016, the Comey FBI replied to our legal demands that “No records responsive to your request were located.” This is in direct contravention to the law, and we are preparing further legal action to force the FBI to come clean and turn over ALL documents related to this matter to us in a timely manner.

      Second …

Second, the hundreds of a pages of (heavily redacted – more on that below) documents paint a clear picture of a DOJ in crisis mode as the news broke of Attorney General Lynch’s meeting with former President Clinton. In fact, the records appear to indicate that the Attorney General’s spin team immediately began preparing talking points for the Attorney General regarding the meeting BEFORE ever speaking with the AG about the matter.

      Third…

Third, there is clear evidence that the main stream media was colluding with the DOJ to bury the story . A Washington Post reporter, speaking of the Clinton Lynch meeting story, said, “I’m hoping I can put it to rest .” The same Washington Post reporter, interacting with the DOJ spin team, implemented specific DOJ requests to change his story to make the Attorney General appear in a more favorable light. A New York Times reporter apologetically told the Obama DOJ that he was being “pressed into service” to have to cover the story. As the story was breaking, DOJ press officials stated, “I also talked to the ABC producer, who noted that they aren’t interested, even if Fox runs with it.”

Two days after the meeting, DOJ officials in a chain of emails that includes emails to Attorney General Lynch herself stated that the media coverage of the meeting “looks like all or most are FOX” and that “CBS . . . just says a few lines about the meeting.”

      And fourth…

Fourth, DOJ bureaucrats have redacted all the talking points, discussions of talking points, a statement on the meeting that was apparently never delivered because there was not enough media coverage on the meeting, and its substantive discussions with the FBI on the matter. They absurdly claim the “deliberative process exemption” to FOIA, which is only supposed to apply to agency rulemaking processes.

Discussions about Attorney General Lynch’s ethically questionable meeting with former President Clinton during her investigation into Hillary Clinton clearly has nothing to do with any rule making process. We will be taking these redactions back to federal court. The law is on our side. We will keep pressing on with our investigation of former Attorney General Lynch until we get to the bottom of this
      .

  28. CBC – Muslims in Quebec City finally get land for burials

News comes a few weeks after a proposed Muslim cemetery in Saint-Apollinaire, Que., was voted down

[…]Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume made the announcement Friday morning at a news conference at city hall.

“For over 400 years, Quebec has been a welcoming city for all cultures, languages and religions,” said Labeaume, who said the French concept of “vivre ensemble” or living together, is “fundamental to the success of our society.”

He said that the cemetery fulfilled the idea of “vivre ensemble” in all its meanings.

[…]The group will pay the city $270,000 for the land, a parcel of 5,700 square metres located just south of Frank-Carrel St.

[…]Benabdallah was overcome by emotion during the news conference on Friday, and paused to collect himself while Labeaume placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

The QICC has been working for almost 20 years to create a Muslim-run cemetery in the area.

[…]The sale of the land still needs to be approved by Quebec city council, but no zoning changes are required.

  29. Eurozone’s party is over: EU stock market could CRASH AND BURN, Deutsche Bank warns (express, Aug 4, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/finance/city/837098/Eurozone-news-stock-market-crash-Deutsche-Bank-share-price-DAX-CAC

“THE eurozone could be in for a brutal stock market crash, as the outlook for the economy darkens, Deutsche Bank has warned.

Investors should ignore recent economic data, that has been better than expected, because it has reached its peak, Germany’s biggest bank said.

Instead people should focus and prepare for the future, which looks to be far less rosy, according to a Deustche analyst.

In a stark alert, Sebastian Raedler, European equities analyst, compared the eurozone to a party that is coming to an end.

He told CNBC: “If everything is as good as it gets then you have to position yourself for a softening.”.

Mr Raedler added: “While the investor’s psychology is always (tempted to think) the markets have gone up by 25 per cent, banks have outperformed up 30 per cent in the backdrop, then you say OK they have done so well, surely I want to be part of that party?

“But it is really like coming to a party at four in the morning … Everybody is already drunk and the question is, is that the moment to get yourself ready for action or is that the time to pull back?

“We think it is time to pull back.”…”

    • The national economies are tied together, this means that when one nations economy crashes the rest quickly follow. All national economies in the West are in danger of crashing and the economies in the Far East are also in danger with the Chinese economoy being the worst, probably the worst in the world.

  30. Daniel Greenfield :

MCMASTER’S NSC COUP AGAINST TRUMP PURGES CRITICS OF ISLAM AND OBAMA

The National Security Council is becoming a national security threat.

Derek Harvey was a man who saw things coming. He had warned of Al Qaeda when most chose to ignore it. He had seen the Sunni insurgency rising when most chose to deny it.

The former Army colonel had made his reputation by learning the lay of the land. In Iraq that meant sleeping on mud floors and digging into documents to figure out where the threat was coming from.

It was hard to imagine anyone better qualified to serve as President Trump’s top Middle East adviser at the National Security Council than a man who had been on the ground in Iraq and who had seen it all.

Just like in Iraq, Harvey began digging at the NSC. He came up with a list of Obama holdovers who were leaking to the press. McMaster, the new head of the NSC, refused to fire any of them.

McMaster had a different list of people he wanted to fire. It was easy to make the list. Harvey was on it.

All you had to do was name Islamic terrorism as the problem and oppose the Iran Deal. If you came in with Flynn, you would be out. If you were loyal to Trump, your days were numbered.

And if you warned about Obama holdovers undermining the new administration, you were a target.

One of McMaster’s first acts at the NSC was to ban any mention of “Obama holdovers.” Not only did the McMaster coup purge Harvey, who had assembled the holdover list, but his biggest target was Ezra Watnick-Cohen, who had exposed the eavesdropping on Trump officials by Obama personnel.

Ezra Watnick-Cohen had provided proof of the Obama surveillance to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes. McMaster, however, was desperately working to fire him and replace him with Linda Weissgold. McMaster’s choice to replace Watnick-Cohen was the woman who helped draft the Benghazi talking points which blamed the Islamic terrorist attack on a video protest.

After protests by Bannon and Kushner, President Trump overruled McMaster. Watnick-Cohen stayed. For a while. Now Ezra Watnick-Cohen has been fired anyway.

According to the media, Watnick-Cohen was guilty of “anti-Muslim fervor” and “hardline views.” And there’s no room for anyone telling the truth about Islamic terrorism at McMaster’s NSC.

McMaster had even demanded that President Trump refrain from telling the truth about Islamic terrorism.

Another of his targets was Rich Higgins, who had written a memo warning of the role of the left in undermining counterterrorism. Higgins had served as a director for strategic planning at the NSC. He had warned in plain language about the threat of Islamic terrorism, of Sharia law, of the Hijrah colonization by Islamic migrants, of the Muslim Brotherhood, and of its alliance with the left as strategic threats.

Higgins had stood by Trump during the Khizr Khan attacks. And he had written a memo warning that “the left is aligned with Islamist organizations at local, national, and international levels” and that “they operate in social media, television, the 24-hour news cycle in all media and are entrenched at the upper levels of the bureaucracies.”

Like Harvey and Ezra Watnick-Cohen, Higgins had warned of an enemy within. And paid the price.

McMaster’s cronies had allegedly used the NSC’s email system to track down the source of the memo. The left and its useful idiots were indeed entrenched at the upper level of the bureaucracy.

    Higgins was fired.

Like Harvey and Watnick-Cohen, Higgins had also become too dangerous to the Obama holdovers. Harvey had assembled a list of names and a plan to dismantle the Iranian nuclear deal. Watnick-Cohen had dug into the Obama surveillance of Trump officials. And Higgins had sought to declassify Presidential Study Directive 11. PSD-11 was the secret blueprint of Obama’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood.

Pete Hoekstra, the former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, linked PSD-11 to the rise of ISIS and called for its declassification.

Replacing Harvey is Michael Bell. When the Washington Post needed someone to badmouth Dr. Gorka, they turned to Bell: the former chancellor of the College of International Security Affairs at the National Defense University. Bell suggested that Dr. Gorka was an uneven scholar. And Dr. Gorka was accused of failing to incorporate other perspectives on Islam.

The pattern has never been hard to spot.

McMaster forced out K.T. McFarland from her role as Deputy National Security Advisor. Slotted in was Dina Habib-Powell.

McFarland was an Oxford and Cambridge grad who had worked at the Pentagon for the Reagan administration. Dina Habib-Powell had no national security background. She was an Egyptian-American immigrant and former Bush gatekeeper whose pals included Huma Abedin and Valerie Jarrett.

Powell, who has been described as the Republican Huma, said that Abedin “feels a deep responsibility to encourage more mutual understanding between her beliefs and culture and American culture.”

When visiting Egypt, Habib-Powell had assured the locals of how Bush, after September 11, “visited a mosque, took off his shoes and paid his respects.” “I see the president talk of Islam as a religion of peace, I see him host an iftar every year,” she gushed.

K.T. McFarland had written that “Global Islamist jihad is at war with all of Western civilization.”

It’s not hard to see why McMaster pushed out McFarland and elevated Habib-Powell.

Habib-Powell had attended the Iftar dinner with members of Muslim Brotherhood front groups. You can see her photographed at the American Task Force of Palestine gala. The ATFP was originally Rashid Khalidi’s American Committee on Jerusalem. She was there as a presenter at the Middle East Institute after a speech by Hanan Ashrawi. Her achievements under Bush included cultural exchanges with Iran, as well as cash for the Palestinian Authority and for Lebanon after the Hezbollah war with Israel.

While President Trump fights to restrict Muslim immigration, at his side is the woman who had once bragged on CNN, “Over 90% of student visas are now issued in under a week, and that is in the Middle East.”

But that is typical of the McMaster revamp of the NSC. It’s populated by swamp creatures who oppose the positions that President Trump ran on. And who are doing everything possible to undermine them.

President Trump promised a reset from Obama’s anti-Israel policies. McMaster picked Kris Bauman as the NSC’s point man on Israel. Bauman had defended Islamic terrorists and blamed Israel for the violence. He had urged pressure on Israel as the solution. Ideas like that fit in at McMaster’s NSC.

Meanwhile Derek Harvey, who had tried to halt Obama’s $221 million terror funding prize to the Palestinian Authority, was forced out.

This too is part of the pattern. As Caroline Glick has pointed out, the personnel being purged in the McMaster coup “are pro-Israel and oppose the Iran nuclear deal.”

When Adam Lovinger urged that “more attention be given to the threat of Iran and Islamic extremism,” his security clearance was revoked. Robin Townley was forced out in the same way.

Meanwhile, McMaster sent a letter to Susan Rice, Obama’s former National Security Adviser, assuring her that the NSC would work with her to “allow you access to classified information.” He claimed that Rice’s continued access to classified information is “consistent with the national security interests of the United States.”

Why does Susan Rice, who is alleged to have participated in the Obama eavesdropping on Trump people, need access to classified information? What national security purpose is served by it?

The same national security purpose that is served by McMaster’s purge of anyone at the NSC who dares to name Islamic terrorism, who wants a tougher stance on Iran, and who asks tough questions.

And the purge of reformers and original thinkers is only beginning.

The latest reports say that McMaster has a list of enemies who will be ousted from the NSC. And when that is done, the NSC will be a purely Obama-Bush operation. The consensus will be that the Iran Deal must stay, that Islam has nothing to do with Islamic terrorism, that we need to find ways to work with the aspirations of the Muslim Brotherhood, and that Israel must make concessions to terrorists.

If you loved the foreign policy that brought us 9/11, ISIS, and billions in funding to terrorists from Syria to Libya to the West Bank, you won’t be able to get enough of McMaster’s brand new NSC.

    And neither will America’s enemies.

The swamp is overflowing. The National Security Council is becoming a national security threat.

President Bush was a good man. And he meant well. But he was surrounded by officials who lied to him. They filled his administration with appeasers and paraded Islamists through the Oval Office. And by the time they were done, thousands more Americans had died and Islamists had developed an even bigger foothold on American soil than they had before September 11. This cannot be allowed to happen again.

If you love America, if you believe that Islamic terrorism needs to be fought, not appeased, then it’s time to take a stand against the McMaster coup and his Obama holdover allies, for our security and future.

It’s not just about a bunch of names. It’s about the survival of America.

  31. Young at Heart: Restoring Cardiac Function with a Matrix Molecule
Administering “young matrix” molecules to damaged mouse hearts led to muscle repair

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, yet the few available treatments are still mostly unsuccessful once the heart tissue has suffered damage. Mammalian hearts are actually able to regenerate and repair damage – but only up to around the time of birth. Afterward, that ability disappears, seemingly forever. Research at the Weizmann Institute of Science has uncovered a molecule in newborn hearts that appears to control the renewal process. When injected into adult mouse hearts injured by heart attacks, this molecule, called Agrin, seems to “unlock” that renewal process and enable heart muscle repair. These findings, published today in Nature, are already pointing to new directions for research on restoring the function of damaged hearts.

The Debbie Wasserman-Schultz interview about Imran Awan is here. And it’s every bit as insane as you would expect.

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz defiantly stands by her decision to keep an information technology aide on her payroll for six months after he was banned from the House network and fired by other members of Congress.

“I believe that I did the right thing, and I would do it again,” Wasserman Schultz said Thursday in an exclusive interview with the Sun Sentinel. “There are times when you can’t be afraid to stand alone, and you have to stand up for what’s right.”

Sometimes you have to do what’s right. And sometimes the right thing to do is keep a Pakistani criminal employed in a sensitive position while his crimes are unraveling. And only fire him once he actually tries to flee the country.

And she would do it again.

Senator Cory Booker and Senator Gillibrand, two of the “younger” Dem candidates in the 2020 field, showed once again that they will sell out Jewish voters by pandering to the anti-Israel left.

Senator Gillibrand milked her backing of the Anti-Boycott Act fighting BDS when the publicity was favorable. When the left began pressuring her, Gillibrand quickly folded and backed away from the fight against BDS.

Senator Booker had posed as pro-Israel before taking office. Once in the Senate, Booker backed the Iran Deal that funds terrorism and protects the terror state’s nuclear program, voted against the nomination of the first pro-Israel ambassador and now was only one of four Dems on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to vote against the Taylor Force Act.

  35. ‘All for nothing?’ British soldier’s rage as Taliban attack Afghan towns he once helped liberate (RT, Aug 4, 2017)
    https://www.rt.com/uk/398635-afghanistan-taliban-british-army/

“RT spoke to a former British Army soldier who served in Afghanistan’s volatile Helmand province during the early stages of UK warfighting operations in 2006.

Glenn Humphries served in 13 Air Assault Support Regiment and vividly recalls handing out coloring books to children in Gereshk in the summer of 2006 as part of an attempt to win over the local population.

Asked how the situation in Helmand today made him feel, Humphries said: “It upsets me, all that money, time and effort, the lives – military and civilian – for nothing.”

He said because of the almost total absence of coverage in the UK media it is “almost like you can believe it is finished, but it isn’t.”…”

  36. An Immigration System That Puts America First
Trump’s common-sense reforms will make U.S. immigration policy sane again.
    August 4, 2017
    Matthew Vadum

President Trump’s newly-unveiled immigration reforms represent an earth-shattering, fundamental change in U.S. immigration policy that is desperately needed after the never-ending waves of poorly educated, hard-to-assimilate immigrants from unenlightened corners of the earth unleashed by Democrats in the Sixties.

“Our question as a government is, to whom is our duty [owed]?” said White House Senior Policy Advisor Stephen Miller. “Our duty is to U.S. citizens and U.S. workers to promote rising wages for them.”

The proposal is “a major historic change to U.S. immigration policy,” he said.

“The effect of this, switching to a skills-based system and ending unfettered chain migration, would be, over time, you would cut net migration in half, which polling shows is supported overwhelmingly by the American people in very large numbers.”

“This is what President Trump campaigned on,” Miller said. “He talked about it throughout the campaign, throughout the transition, and since coming into office.”

  37. Unmasking’ Investigation Leading Straight To Obama White House
Ben Rhodes and Samantha Power added to House Intelligence Committee’s investigation list.
    August 4, 2017
    Joseph Klein

A mounting unmasking scandal investigation is leading right to the Obama White House and to a former Obama administration United Nations ambassador. Rep. Devin Nunes (R., Calif.), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, which is handling the investigation, has blown the lid off of what could well turn out to be one of the most egregious violations of Americans’ 4th Amendment privacy rights in the nation’s history.

In a July 27th letter to Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats, Rep. Nunes expressed the concern of his committee that government officials may have abused their authority to request the unmasking of U.S. person identities sourced from raw intelligence reports. The raw intelligence, which included the names of some Americans, focused on foreign individuals’ communications of interest to intelligence agencies. Some of those communications may have been with Americans caught up in the intelligence surveillance.

Rep. Nunes said in his letter that “Obama-era officials sought the identities of Trump transition officials within intelligence reports.” One official, the letter said, “whose position had no apparent intelligence-related function, made hundreds of unmasking requests during the final year of the Obama administration” (emphasis in the original). Rep. Nunes added that in the absence of individual, fact-based justifications for such unmasking, “the Committee is left with the impression that these officials may have used this information for improper purposes, including the possibility of leaking. More pointedly, some of the requests for unminimized U.S. person information were followed by anonymous leaks of those names to the media.”

  38. Germany: ‘Merkel is the leader of the free world’ – Seehofer

Chairman of the CSU Horst Seehofer praised Chancellor Angela Merkel at a traditional summer reception for entrepreneurs in Ebersberg, Friday, saying there was no better person to lead the free world.

He spoke highly of the German chancellor in the context of the upcoming federal election, saying Merkel “is the leader of the free world and no one else can hold this free world together as well as her.”

SOT, Horst Seehofer, Chairman of the CSU (German): “And then someone asked Joachim Hermann, who is leading us in the federal election, the significant question, would we perform better without Angela Merkel in the upcoming election. That was the significant question that was posed. We’ve had our disputes in the last two years, but when it comes to this country, the union must come together. And therefore the decision was right, and I say to you, Angela Merkel, with whom I have just spoken to on the phone – I can also convey well wishes from her – is the leader of the free world and no one else can hold this free world together as well as her. Thus the decision was right.”

SOT, Horst Seehofer, Chairman of the CSU (German): “We have agreed [with the car industry] that the cars, namely the older diesel cars will be retrofitted and upgraded and this will be permitted by the car industry. And that at the same time the car industry will offer environmental premium, particularly by replacing old diesel cars with new cars.”

SOT, Horst Seehofer, Chairman of the CSU (German): “Because I want to avoid at all costs, we have over 15 million diesel cars in Germany, and I want to avoid at all costs that a few years ago we said to the population, buy diesel cars, because diesel is particularly environmentally friendly for the CO2 emissions and also fuel-efficient. And now the same politicians are saying we are not allowed to drive diesel cars in the city. That will be out of the question. There will be no ban.”

  39. Is McMaster Doing Susan Rice’s Bidding?
    August 4, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield

I have an extensive writeup today on the McMaster purges of Islam realists, Iran critics and Trump supporters at the NSC.

One of McMaster’s first acts at the NSC was to ban any mention of “Obama holdovers.” Not only did the McMaster coup purge Harvey, who had assembled the holdover list, but his biggest target was Ezra Watnick-Cohen, who had exposed the eavesdropping on Trump officials by Obama personnel

According to the Lake piece, McMaster believes that Susan Rice’s unmasking of Trump people was justified.

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster has concluded that Rice did nothing wrong, according to two U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to me on condition of anonymity.

That’s in line with the anonymous sources in the Carter Circa piece which exposed the McMaster/Rice letter. And with Susan Rice’s own message to McMaster.

Former Obama national security adviser Susan E. Rice on Monday urged her new counterpart in the Trump White House, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, to get rid of a national security wing led by presidential strategist Stephen Bannon.

“Hope you will be able to choose your team, have direct reporting and daily access to POTUS, and can eliminate Strategic Initiatives Group,” Ms. Rice wrote in a congratulatory note to Lt. Gen. McMaster on Twitter.

You can often judge motives based on a pattern of actions. You attack your friends and help your enemies. Who your enemies are and who your allies are… are shown by how you treat them.

What’s very clear here is that McMaster is an ally of Susan Rice. And of the Obama holdovers. And an opponent of Trump supporters and anyone attempting to expose the Obama sabotage.

The question is whether President Trump will let McMaster protect those Obama holdovers trying to impeach him while purging those who would protect him.

    That is his choice.

  40. AFP- Arab, Israeli girls camping for peace in US wilderness

“Creativity for Peace,” an organization in Santa Fe, New Mexico, brings together Palestian and Jewish Israeli girls

    • WTF use is it having Muslimas exposed to Israeli girls when it’s Muslim men who do nearly all of the killing? This is like congregating Cessnas and Piper Cubs in the hope that they will stop B-52s.
