“Iman FM transmitted 25 hours of sermons from Anwar Al-Awlaki, a hate preacher killed by a US drone strike in 2011. A complaint was made to Ofcom, which has suspended the Sheffield-based station’s licence.

The watchdog said the material ‘amounted to a direct call to action to members of the Muslim community to prepare for and carry out violent action against non-Muslim people’.

Bosses at Iman FM have 21 days to explain themselves or be closed down. They found the extremist lectures on YouTube and broadcast them during Ramadan.

Ofcom said Al-Awlaki, who was an American Muslim cleric of Yemeni descent, was an Al Qaeda leader, recruiter and trainer.”

  1. School allowed radical Muslim cleric linked to terror group to lecture pupils (express, Jul 7, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/825955/Rabia-School-Muslim-clerics-Taqi-Usmani-Hanif-Jalandhari-terror-group-lecture-pupils

“A MUSLIM independent school which allowed radical clerics to give speeches to pupils has been found guilty of misconduct by the charity watchdog.

The Rabia School in Luton, Bedfordshire, allowed unchecked speakers from abroad to lecture its around 130 pupils aged five to 16-years-old, separate investigations by the Charity Commission and Ofsted concluded.

Speakers at the school, which was also rapped for segregating male and female staff with a screen, included a scholar from Pakistan called Qari Hanif Jalandhari.

He attended the school, which has fees of up to £2,300, in 2013.

However, investigators found he had previously lectured fighters of Jaish-eMohammed (JeM) in Pakistan, which is a proscribed terrorist organisation.

He was recorded telling the fighters: “Tomorrow belongs to Muslims. We have to maintain a united front and frustrate the efforts of those who want to divide on the lines of jihadi and non-jihadi factions.

“In my view every Muslim is a mujahid.”

The school welcomed scholar Maulana Taqi Usmani the same year.

After the 9/11 strikes led to a coalition invasion of Afghanistan, Mr Usmani reportedly issued a fatwa against the invading forces fighting the Taliban. He said: “God almighty has ordained that if non-Muslim forces attack a Muslim country, jihad becomes obligatory on the people of that country.”

The following year, the school was swooped on by various regulators after the Government put the spotlight on the conduct of Muslim schools in the wake of the Trojan Horse plot uncovered in Birmingham in 2014 when there was an organised attempt to introduce an Islamist ethos into several schools across the city.

A report of a Charity Commission statutory inquiry into the Rabia Educational Trust, which runs the Luton school, just published said the school still remains under regulatory measures from the Department for Education.

It said the earlier Ofsted probe found that the “leaders and governors, through their actions, undermine the school’s work to promote fundamental British values and school leaders acknowledge that some guest speakers to the school have not been vetted with sufficient rigour”.

The new commission report said: “While the commission does not investigate matters relating to educational standards in schools, it was of concern to the commission that the trustees were not discharging their duties to protect the charity’s beneficiaries from potentially harmful views and attitudes.”

It said trustees have now adopted a speaker policy and no longer allow anyone from abroad as it is harder to vet them, and religious speakers are no longer welcome.

No speakers have visited during 2017, the charity said.

Ofsted carried out unannounced visits in May 2014, January 2015, April 2016 and January 2017.

After the first three it was classed as “inadequate” across many areas…”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/pushes-back-us-backed-forces-syrias-raqqa-48495104

“Islamic State militants fought on Friday to repel the advance of U.S.-backed Syrian forces, days after they inched closer to the heart of the extremist group’s de facto capital of Raqqa.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the IS fighters were waging counterattacks in the Old City of Raqqa, where the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have advanced some 200 meters (yards) beyond the city’s outer walls.

Days earlier, the Kurdish-led SDF, backed by airstrikes from the U.S.-led coalition, had punched two gaping holes in the 2,500 meter (yard) long wall to take the fight to the city center. Activists said the advancing forces now control most of the Old City wall, dating back 1,300 years.

The Kurdish-run Hawar news agency said the SDF clashed with the militants in the city’s Rawda district, northeast of the Old City walls. The agency said the Kurdish-led forces were now within firing range of the city’s grain silos, further to the north.

Hawar interviewed residents of the Old City who had managed to escape from the IS-held city. They said that over the past weeks, they had no water and one man said a bottle had to last them a week, according to the video.

The U.N. estimates there are between 50,000 to 100,000 civilians trapped with IS militants inside Raqqa…”

“A major Islamic State group counterattack Friday along the northern edge of Mosul’s Old City neighborhood has pushed Iraqi Army forces back some 75 meters (82 yards) and is threatening recent gains in other Old City fronts, an Iraqi military officer said.

The officer said the attack was launched just after noon Friday and estimated it was carried out by 50 to 100 IS fighters. A doctor at a medic station said he received more than a dozen wounded Iraqi soldiers.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/islamabad-welcomes-sanctions-pakistani-militant-group-48496583

“Pakistan’s foreign ministry has praised the United Nations for imposing sanctions on a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban, which is linked to deadly attacks in the country.

In a statement Friday, the ministry welcomed the move in which the U.N. Security Council on Thursday added the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar group to a list of organizations and individuals subject to freezing of assets, a travel ban and an arms embargo.

The ministry said the U.N. took this step at Islamabad’s request.

Pakistan often claims that Jamaat-ul-Ahrar operates from neighboring Afghanistan. It imposed a ban on the group last year and launched a crackdown to trace and arrest its leadership.”

  6. 23 killed in blitz car bomb attack in Egypt’s Sinai (abcnews, Jul 7, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/10-killed-blitz-car-bomb-attack-egypts-sinai-48493947

“Islamic militants unleashed a suicide car bomb and heavy gunfire on an Egyptian military checkpoint in northeastern Sinai Peninsula on Friday, killing 23 troops and wounding 33, officials said.

Among those killed in the attack — the deadliest on the country’s military this year — were five officers, including a high-ranking special forces colonel, Ahmed el-Mansi, according to security officials.

The assault started when a suicide car bomber rammed his vehicle into a checkpoint at a military compound in the village of el-Barth, southwest of the border town of Rafah, followed by heavy gunfire from dozens of masked militants on foot, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

As the attack unfolded, ambulance sirens were heard from a distance rushing to the site. The officials initially put the death toll at 10 but later said that more bodies were pulled from under the rubble of a nearby building, used as a rest house for troops, that was destroyed in the attack.

The militants arrived at the site of the checkpoint — located in a remote, desert area — in some 24 Land Cruiser SUVs, and opened fire on the soldiers with machine guns for nearly half an hour, the officials said. The troop presence at the compound is estimated to have numbered about 60 soldiers.

After the attack, the militants looted the checkpoint, taking away weapons and ammunition before fleeing the scene, the officials added. It was unclear if they also took armored vehicles as well.

The next army compound is located an hour’s drive away, leaving the targeted site with no support except for local, armed tribesmen from the Tarabeen, who have their own small checkpoints nearby.

The wider area of the attack is considered to be an IS stronghold and was the site of fierce battles in the spring between the tribesmen and militants. The officials told The Associated Press that some senior officers have voiced opposition to the location of the checkpoint, arguing that it provided no real cover…”

  7. U.S. bombers challenge China in South China Sea flyover

TOKYO/BEIJING, July 7 (Reuters) – Two U.S bombers have flown over the disputed South China Sea, the U.S. Air Force said on Friday, asserting the right to treat the region as international territory despite China’s claim to virtually all of the waterway.

The flight by the B-1B Lancer bombers from Guam on Thursday came as U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping prepare for a meeting on the sidelines of a G20 summit in Germany.

The two leaders were expected to discuss what China can do to rein in North Korea’s missile and nuclear weapon programmes.

North Korea fired an intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday that some experts believe has the range to reach Alaska and Hawaii and perhaps the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

President Trump’s unpredictable style is threatening to keep China off balance at a critical meeting this weekend where North Korea will be on the agenda.

Trump has kept China guessing about his intentions with comments that have run the gamut leading up to the summit.

“So much for China working with us — but we had to give it a try!” Trump tweeted on Wednesday.

A day later, Trump suggested he hasn’t abandoned the idea of working with China.

A METEOR with the explosive power of TEN cruise missiles has struck the Moon – sparking a massive explosion visible with the naked eye.

And terrifyingly the 56,000 mph collision – captured by NASA scientists highlighting the catastrophic danger planet earth faces from similar meteors – was caused by a space rock weighing no more than 88 lbs (40 kilos).

Despite the meteor’s tiny proportions – about the size of a small boulder and the weight of an average 10-year-old boy – the impact damage was colossal and the explosion shone with the brightness of a magnitude 4 star.

Secret Service agents bust a 52-year-old man wearing a bulletproof vest as he tries to get into Trump tower to see first daughter Ivanka Trump.

Adames Benitez carried a forged ID and was armed with two throwing knives on Thursday evening when he arrived at the Midtown tower.

He claimed to be a U.S. Senator and told agents he owned the building he was entering.

The man said he was there to talk to Ivanka Trump about her new dress line.

He has since been taken into custody by the NYPD and Secret Service agents, and is facing several charges.

The man was also taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

  11. Who hates ya, baby? U.N. rules burial site of biblical Jewish patriarchs belongs to Palestinians
By Jeff Dunetz July 7, 2017

On Friday, the United Nations’s United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) reiterated its anti-Jewish stance by denying Israel’s biblical connection to the city of Hebron, which houses the Tomb of the Patriarchs, purchased nearly four millennia ago by the patriarch Abraham. The purchase was made to bury his wife, Sarah. Twelve countries voted in favor of the Palestinian request to name Hebron a Palestinian heritage site, while only three voted against it. Six countries abstained.

This resolution, like last year’s UNESCO action toward Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, has only one purpose: to delegitimize Israel by denying the Jewish connection to the Holy Land. At its heart this resolution is not simply directed at Israel but at Jews everywhere (and anyone else who believes in the Five Books of Moses). Next to Jerusalem, Hebron is the holiest city in the Jewish faith.

Israel will reject Friday’s anti-Semitic resolution, as they did the one last year, which named the Temple Mount a Palestinian heritage site. Already the Jerusalem Post reports

  12. 86 Per Cent of Recently Tested ‘Underage’ Migrants in Sweden Are Actually Adults (breitbart, Jul 7, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/07/07/86-per-cent-recently-tested-underage-migrants-sweden-adults/

“The Swedish National Board of Forensic Medicine (RMV) has released new figures that show a majority of cases of disputed “underage” migrants are actually adults.

The RMV released figures this week after medically testing 1,481 migrants to determine whether or not they had lied about being under the age of 18. Of the total number, it was revealed that 1,215, or 86 per cent, of the individuals tested were adults.

The testing took place over a three-month period between March and June of this year and involved an MRI of the knee joint and an x-ray of wisdom teeth. The results were then examined by doctors who determined whether the migrants were adults or children.

Of all the migrants tested, only 49, or 3.3 per cent, were female (33 of which were found to be over 18). The figures show the overwhelming number of migrants that claim to be underage are either boys or men.

Since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, the Swedish government has been plagued with cases of asylum seekers who claim to be underage to receive both preferential treatment and a better chance of claiming asylum.

In some cases, migrants who later turned out to be adults have even carried out murders in Swedish asylum homes meant for children. The most publicised case was the stabbing to death of asylum worker Alexandra Mezher last year.

In November 2015, another migrant claiming to be a child stabbed and slashed a woman with a knife after she refused his sexual advances.

The murders shocked Sweden and led to the call for, and eventual implementation of, medical checks to ensure migrants were the age they claim.

Underage migrants in Sweden have also been involved in a number of sex attacks in Swedish schools and music festivals. Earlier this year, Swedish journalist Joakim Lamotte claimed sex abuse by migrants was widespread in Swedish public schools and both victims and teachers were afraid to address the subject because of political correctness.

In one case, an Ethiopian, who claimed to be 16-years-old, raped a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old whilst being fully aware that he was HIV positive. The Ethiopian refused to take antiretroviral drugs he was prescribed and did not wear a condom during the attacks which made the likelihood of him spreading HIV to others incredibly high.

Gang rapes, which are on the rise in Sweden, have also been revealed to be committed heavily by migrants, many of them underage, as well.”

  13. CNN called out for falsely reporting Polish first lady snubbed Trump — this time by unlikely ally
By Howard Portnoy July 7, 2017

The “most busted name in news” is at it again, this time joined by a number of its fellow purveyors of falsehood. The target of the attacks is once again Donald Trump. And this time the claim — promoted not only by CNN but by The Washington Post, New York’s Daily News, and others — is that Agata Kornhauser-Duda, the wife of Polish president Andrzej Duda, snubbed Trump when he extended his hand for a handshake.

Here, thanks to the Washington Examiner’s Becket Adams, is a video of the shot heard round the world. Like Trump’s now-infamous body-slamming video, this one is formatted as a GIF, meaning that the clip loops back on itself several times:

  14. NYC’s De Blasio heads to Germany to join anti-G20/anti-Trump rally

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/07/06/nycs-de-blasio-heads-germany-join-anti-g20anti-trump-rally/

If you’re ever tempted to think the progressive voters of New York City may not be getting their money’s worth, just stop.

Bill De Blasio has to be a progressive’s dream-come-true, and then some.

His latest adventure is an abrupt departure for Germany, where he will attend some G20-related events including a protest rally in Hamburg, the city hosting the gathering.

A last-minute advisory from City Hall said Hizzoner “will attend several events surrounding the G20 Summit, including Saturday’s Hamburg Zeigt Haltung rally.”

Organizers of that demonstration — “Hamburg Shows Attitude,” in English — say 10,000 people have registered to oppose G20 participants including Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdgoan.

“All stand for an attitude that we find unacceptable and do not want to accept,” Lutheran Bishop Kirsten Fehrs has said.

  15. NYT columnist claims Trump supporters are ‘idiots’ and bigots who should ‘admire’ elites
By Joe Newby July 6, 2017

    Sticks and stones.

If you support President Donald Trump, then you’re a bigot and idiot, and you should admire the establishment elite who want to run every aspect of your life. That’s according to “never-Trump” New York Times op-ed writer Bret Stephens. On Wednesday, Breitbart‘s Tony Lee devoted a column to Stephens’s observation made on MSNBC — on Independence Day, yet.

    Writes Lee:

The Times’ and MSNBC’s insufferably smug and out-of-touch useful idiot said Warren Buffett has a wonderful line: “First come the innovators, then come the imitators, and then come the idiots.”

“I think the conservative movement has traced a similar trajectory,” he said on MSNBC, adding that “the party of Donald Trump” is associated with “exclusion, fear, and bigotry.”

Stephens whined that conservatives “demonize” and do not “admire” elites who are “educated” and care about things like “culture” and the “cultivation of the human soul.”

Stephens was recently mocked as an elitist poseur when he actually wrote a column about permanently signing off Twitter only to reveal that his assistant would be monitoring his Twitter feed. “Never Trumpers” like Stephens write for their fellow media elitists (their core base), so of course Stephens is not really signing off since he would risk giving up some of the spotlight that is put on him whenever he bashes Trump and his supporters.

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/07/06/nyt-columnist-claims-trump-supporters-idiots-bigots-admire-elites/

    • Stephens whined that conservatives “demonize” and do not “admire” elites who are “educated” and care about things like “culture” and the “cultivation of the human soul.

I can’t think of a better example of the attitudes of the self proclaimed elite, they are legends in their owm minds who are incapable of achieving anything thing worth remembering. And I will bet that the culture that he cares about is the post modern antics that are destroying civilization and true culture.

      • As I’ve said before, Bret Stephens used to be a Good Guy.

He’s in a highly toxic environment. When did he get sick in the head? He married in rapid succession a couple NY-Slimes pseudo-journalists, and he’s definitely not the same person.

  16. France: Thousands of refugees evacuated to new shelters in Paris/strong>

Police evacuated thousands of migrants from the Porte de La Chapelle aid centre in Paris, Friday bussing them to new shelters.

“We have begun to carry out a shelter operation for migrants who live in unpleasant conditions“ said police spokesperson Johanna Primeverg, “this is for their safety and for their health. It is to prevent the violation of people’s security, to ensure public order“ she explained.

SOT, Johanna Primevert, Head of the Communication department and spokesperson for the Police Prefecture (French): “Hello, we have begun to carry out a shelter operation for migrants who live in unpleasant conditions. This is for their safety and for their health. It is to prevent the violation of people’s security, to ensure public order. To solve this undesirable situation, the Paris Prefect of Police, Michel Delpuech, has made this decision that enables these people to have shelter. They are largely men but we’ve also had women and children here for a few weeks now.”

SOT, Francois Ravier, Paris Prefeture Senior Official (French): “We have identified and found 20 accomodation structures in Ile-de-France. The departments and the city of Paris have mobilised to accomodate the numbers of people to be sheltered. Last week they were between 1500 and 2000, but now it is expected to be higher. The capacities of the new shelters are prepared for that.”

  17. F-15 jets escort Cuba-bound Canadian aircraft to Montreal due to ‘unruly customer making non-specific threats’

    https://www.yahoo.com/gma/f-15-jets-escort-cuba-bound-canadian-aircraft-042154513–abc-news-topstories.html

Two NORAD F-15 fighter jets intercepted a Cuba-bound aircraft operated by Canada’s Sunwing Airlines in upstate New York Thursday night, and escorted it back to Montreal after a passenger made “non specific threats” on board the Boeing 737 aircraft, the airline said.

“We can confirm that flight WG604 which departed Montreal’s Dorval airport for Cayo Coco earlier this evening turned around due to an unruly customer making non-specific threats,” the Toronto-based low-cost carrier said in a statement of the flight, which was intercepted near Albany. “The flight arrived back around 7:25 p.m. and the disruptive customer was taken into police custody.

The threats the passenger made have not yet been released.

The 170 passengers were slated to re-depart for Cuba, but not for several hours.

  18. Obama’s team had the chance to kill ISIS leader Al Baghdadi — and they blew it

The U.S. military had the leader of ISIS in its crosshairs years before he became the most wanted terrorist in the world — but the bureaucratic suits in Washington let him get away.

In 2011, a secretive U.S. special operations task force was orbiting a drone above a house in Baghdad, Iraq where they had new intelligence that the notorious terrorist leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had bunkered down for a meeting with his top ISIS lieutenants. A call went out from our headquarters and then back to higher-ups in the States: we’ve got him, can we take him out?

Our secretive targeting units had been hunting al-Baghdadi for years before he was known to the public, pushing him deeper and deeper in the shadows. Our weapon was mainly Predator MQ-1 drones equipped with two laser-guided AGM-114P Hellfire missiles, and a separate team of special operators able to finish off targets we had acquired from the ground.

  19. The Democrats’ Soviet Insane Asylum for Trump
The Left’s faithful devotion to socialist-style “psychiatric” disposal of political dissidents.
    July 7, 2017
    Jamie Glazov

The former Soviet Union possessed many imaginative mechanisms to deal with the problem of enemies of the people who obstructed the path to socialist utopia — now known as “social justice.” One of those mechanisms was the practice of confining individuals who were thinking the wrong thoughts to insane asylums. Indeed, if you caused any trouble for the commissars, a good inoculation of neuroleptics (powerful drugs used to “quiet” the symptoms of schizophrenia), forcibly administered through a tube in the nose, could do wonders in bringing your politically incorrect behavior to a halt.

Dissidents such as Natalya Gorbanevskaya, Pyotr Grigorenko, Vladimir Bukovsky, Alexander Esenin-Volpin and Joseph Brodsky were all among the brave freedom-fighters who bore the brunt of the Soviet practice of institutionalizing dissidents in mental hospitals and force-feeding them mind-shattering drugs. Gorbanevskaya was committed to a psychiatric hospital for attending the 1968 Red Square demonstration against the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. Grigorenko suffered the same fate for criticizing the Khrushchev regime. Bukovsky was confined to a psychiatric hospital for “anti-Soviet agitation.” Brodksy was sent to mental hospitals for not writing the right kind of poetry; his treatments involved “tranquilizing” injections, sleep deprivation and forced freezing baths. Esenin-Volpin was institutionalized in the Leningrad Special Psychiatric Hospital for his anti-Soviet thoughts.

  20. America’s Return to Space is Long Overdue
    July 7, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield

Obama’s destruction of the space program was one of his many attacks on American Exceptionalism. Like so much of the devastation inflicted by the radical anti-american administration on America, it will take a long time to heal.

But some of the early steps are promising. And Pence is signaling that it will be a personal priority.

“From this bridge to space, our nation will return to the moon, and we will put American boots on the face of Mars,” Pence said at the Kennedy Space Center.

It’s the kind of stirring specificity so absent from Obama’s speeches. And it speaks directly to the larger theme of American greatness.

Beyond words, Pence will chair the National Space Council. And that indicates the framework for a larger plan underway.

  21. Fake News Now Creating Fake Shows to Hide Bad Ratings
    July 7, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield
    0

On one level this is procedural chicanery, yet it is
revealing of how much of the fake news media infrastructure is a lie from the top down.

Television networks are intentionally misspelling the names of their news shows in a new trend to artificially boost their ratings.

Mediaite first noticed in June that an episode of NBC News’ “Nightly News” set to air the Friday before Memorial Day (typically a slow news day) was retitled “Nitely News.” As a result, Nielsen’s automated system treated the Friday show as if it were another show entirely.

The gambit worked; when the week’s average ratings were released, “Nightly News” beat ABC’s “World News Tonight” due to the latter being weighed down by the low-rated Friday broadcast

How much does this matter? Among other things it is a reminder that the media is structurally dishonest and has no problem with engaging in the most blatant sorts of deception to get its way.

  22. Real Legislation To Combat Terrorism
Welcome to a bill that makes a crucial first step.
    July 7, 2017
    Michael Cutler
    5

The continuing threat of terror attacks committed by international terrorists in the United States requires meaningful, decisive and effective action that protects America and Americans.

Congressman Raul Labrador, a Republican from Idaho, has introduced legislation that would help address the issue of the lack of integrity to the refugee program. His bill is H.R. 2826 (Refugee Program Integrity Restoration Act of 2017) and addresses an area of critical importance, imbuing the refugee program with meaningful integrity to combat fraud in this program.

I am particularly gratified by Congressman Labrador’s efforts. I have repeatedly noted in my appearances before Congressional hearings and elsewhere that the lack of integrity of the immigration system created a national security vulnerability that international terrorists and transnational criminals and fugitives frequently exploited, often with deadly consequences.

I have also noted that the lack of integrity of the immigration system was attributable to the lack of integrity of all too many politicians from both political parties creating “Immigration Failure – By Design.”

These politicians hypocritically claim that “the immigration system is broken” while never providing the resources that would enable DHS to enforce and administer the immigration laws to prevent the entry and embedding of international terrorists and transnational criminals.

  23. CNN’s Secret Business Links to the Castro Regime
    The shameless ties that bind.

Start with practically everything from CNN’s Havana Bureau for the past twenty years, Mr President. But don’t take it from me. Take it from the mass-murdering terror-sponsors who graciously bestowed CNN their platform to spread communist propaganda:

“Propaganda is vital—propaganda is the heart of our struggle.” (Fidel Castro.)

“Much more valuable than rural recruits for our Cuban guerrilla force were American media recruits to export our propaganda.” (Ernesto “Che” Guevara.)

“Fidel Castro is one hell of a guy!” Ted Turner gushed to a capacity crowd at Harvard Law School during a speech in 1997. “You people would like him! Most people in Cuba like him.”

Within weeks CNN was granted its coveted Havana Bureau, the first ever granted by Castro to a foreign network. Though Tuner officially relinquished his vice chairmanship of (CNN parent) Time-Warner in 2003, the network’s role as subsidiary of the Castro regime’s propaganda ministry remains as shameless as ever—a “shining” legacy!

  24. Trump, Putin meeting goes longer than expected

UPDATE: Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the Trump administration sees no long-term role for the Assad family and the Assad regime in Syria.

Tillerson tells reporters at a briefing in Hamburg, Germany that “how” Syrian President Bashar Assad “leaves is yet to be determined.” But he says he thinks there will be a transition away from the Assad government.

The United States and Russia announced an agreement Friday for a cease-fire in southwest Syria set to take effect July 9.

Tillerson describes the deal as the first indication of the Trump administration and Russia being able to work together in Syria.

President Donald Trump opened his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin by raising concerns about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

  25. CNN Political Analyst: ‘People do not have a right to stay anonymous’

CNN political analyst Kirsten Powers declared Thursday that private citizens do not have a “right” to remain anonymous so they can spew “racist, misogynist, homophobic garbage.”

Ms. Powers fired off a series of tweets Thursday defending her network’s decision to threaten to expose the anonymous Reddit user behind the now-famous President Trump-CNN wrestling meme.

“People do not have a ‘right’ to stay anonymous so they can spew their racist, misogynist, homophobic garbage,” she wrote, adding, “I would have released his name and picture,” The Hill first reported.

The same person who allegedly created the meme, tweeted by the president himself, is also reportedly behind multiple racial and anti-Semitic comments online. CNN was widely criticized after tracking down the meme creator, who subsequently apologized, and then threatening to expose his identity if he continued to post offensive content in the future.

“CNN is not publishing ‘HanA**holeSolo’s’ name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again,” the network said. “CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.”

Ms. Powers said CNN showed “restraint” in this instance.

“[H]ow did someone who posts anti-semitic, racist & anti-gay content become a victim for ppl to rally around?” she asked. “Look how fast he apologized when he thought he’d be public. Why protect these ppl?”

    • Kristen Powers is a nasty fascist using the idea of protecting minorities from hate as an excuse to censor everyone, what she either doesn’t understand or doesn’t care about is that once you start censoring hate speech where do you stop? Someone has to decide what is hate speech and she is setting herself up as the judgeof what we can say and think. She doesn’t understand that to many people things she reports on and opinions she and her colleagues voice daily are considered hateful by many people.

Her comments and arrogance in insisting on the right to determine what others can say and think place her as agreeing with her colleague who said that we the unwashed masses need to start admiring the self proclaimed elite because (in their opinion) they are better educated and care about things (that in their opinion) we are too stupid to care about.

I find her views as repugnant as I find the anti-Semitic post of Hanasshole Solo, I find their statements repugnant but think they are free to think and say them and to keep their identity hidden while doing so if this is what they want.

      • http://insurgenttribe.com/cnn-hypocritical-blackmailing-thugs-nice-anonymity-you-got-there-it-would-be-a-shame-if-something-happened-to-it-and-we-outed-you-to-the-leftist-mob/
“This sanctimony comes to you courtesy of the network that knowingly publicized the fabricated dossier about sexual shenanigans in a Moscow hotel, whose president demands of the staff more Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, for clicks and profit, whose autocorrect defaults “benign contacts” into “collusion” and who repeatedly embarrasses itself with fake Russia news. It comes from the network that lives and breathes and glories in anonymous leaks meant to harm and embarrass the president, from sources that may or may not know, but who are only too happy to shout into the global microphone, under the protective, collusive cover of CNN. Yes, that company has rooted out the ugly, offending behavior of an anonymous schmo and taken steps to get his mind right.

Pathetic. They appear to be beyond embarrassment.”

      • Who would even know – or sincerely care – about this guy’s oeuvre, if CNN didn’t lift his rock?
Manufactured ‘identity’ outrage to cover legitimate backlash against blackmail and censorship.

    • These self-appointed arbiters of morality somehow forget that people have a Constitutional right to be Antisemitic, racist, and anything else they take a fancy to.

The willingness of sanctimonious prigs like Kirsten Powers to take it upon themselves to determine what is socially acceptable is every bit as repugnant as the Antisemites and bigots she claims to loathe.

  26. Eastern Europe Chooses to Keep Western Civilization

    by Giulio Meotti

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10631/eastern-europe-islam-civilization

In a historic speech to an enthusiastic Polish crowd before the meeting of the G20 Summit leaders, US President Donald Trump described the West’s battle against “radical Islamic terrorism” as the way to protect “our civilization and our way of life”. Trump asked if the West had the will to survive:

“Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?”

Trump’s question might find an answer in Eastern Europe, where he chose to deliver his powerful speech.

  27. Asking China to ‘Fix’ North Korea Is a Waste of Time

    by John R. Bolton
    July 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10630/china-north-korea

American and South Korean officials have said for over a year that North Korea would be able, within a very short time, to miniaturize a nuclear device, mount it on an intercontinental ballistic missile and hit the continental United States. The country’s test launch Tuesday didn’t conclusively demonstrate that Pyongyang has reached this point, but Alaska and Hawaii might already be within range — and US forces in South Korea and Japan certainly are.

This isn’t the first time the North has marked the Fourth with fireworks. On July 4, 2006, a North Korean short-range missile barrage broke a seven-year moratorium, stemming from a 1998 Taepo-Dong missile launch that landed in the Pacific east of Japan. Tokyo responded angrily, leading Pyongyang to declare the moratorium (though it continued static-rocket testing), ironically gaining a propaganda victory.

In addition, the North substantially increased ballistic-missile cooperation with Iran, begun earlier in the decade, a logical choice since both countries were relying upon the same Soviet-era Scud missile technology, and because their missile objectives were the same: acquiring delivery capabilities for nuclear warheads.

    • I hope his method of forcing China to move on North Korea will work but doubt it, Both China and Russia have their own agenda and neither one includes easing the tensions in Korea. Both have ambitions in other regions, Russia the Middle East and China in Africa, if our military is tied up in Korea they are free to move, and if/when Iran decides to move on our allies in the Middle East while we are tied up in Korea we will have to spend time and money fighting them once more giving China and Russia time to do what they want. As long as they don’t shoot at us we will not shoot at them and by the time we remove both North Korea and Iran they will have attained most of their goals. Both nations take the long view on things and are willing to take their time in achieving their ultimate goal.

  28. New holes in Loretta Lynch’s story on the Hillary probe

    By Paul Sperry

    July 6, 2017 | 7:03pm | Updated

When former Attorney General Loretta Lynch testified last year about her decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information, she swore she never talked to “anyone” on the Clinton campaign. That categorical denial, though made in response to a series of questions about whether she spoke with Clintonworld about remaining attorney general if Hillary won the election, could come back to haunt her.

The Senate Judiciary Committee, which has launched a bipartisan investigation into Lynch for possible obstruction of justice, recently learned of the existence of a document indicating Lynch assured the political director of Clinton’s campaign she wouldn’t let FBI agents “go too far” in probing the former secretary of state.

“COPTIC Christians in Egypt claim they are suffering a fresh spate of murders as part of a jihadist campaign against them after three were killed in the space of eight days.

The three men were found murdered in the space of just eight days from the last week of June with a fourth man also slaughtered in late May.

Coptic groups in the country fear that the killings may have been carried out by extremists with loyalties to groups such as Islamic State (ISIS)…”

“TERRORIST organizations have been using women as a gateway to recruit youngsters to carry out their nefarious operations. Women with extremist ideas easily fall into their traps and become supporters of terrorism. This is a major issue facing the Kingdom’s counterterrorism agencies.

Women’s involvement in terrorism has not yet become a phenomenon but their lack of awareness has complicated the ongoing campaign to fight terrorism and extremism. Mothers can play a significant role in the war on terror by preventing their children from joining terror groups.

The fall of women in the gutter of terrorism is more dangerous than the fall of men as the former would be feeding their children extremist thoughts and ideas. Mothers can influence their children more than their fathers. Extremist environment provides a fertile ground for terrorist groups to grow…”

But the officer himself is also suspected of being a supporter of the terror group Isis after having expressed his support for the group’s ideology…”

  35. Val-de-Marne: a police officer suspected of helping his jihadist brother

A police officer from the Kremlin-Bicêtre (Val-de-Marne) is indicted for conspiracy and fraud in connection with a terrorist enterprise. He is suspected of having helped his brother involved in a jihadist channel and of being a supporter of the Islamic State (EI) group, according to AFP, which confirms information from Europe.

The 42-year-old peacekeeper was indicted on Saturday after being arrested on 27 June when he was on duty at the police station. He is suspected of having helped his brother imprisoned for a year for links with jihadists in the Iraqi-Syrian zone and for financing terrorism.

“The policeman and his brother had exchanges before and during the detention of the latter who leave little doubt about the police officer’s adherence to the theses of the IE,” said a source close to the investigation….
