In order to preserve the flow of conversation about various posted items, and also in order to make it easier for visitors to find the list of related links being shared by other readers, regulars and interested parties in one place, each day a post is automatically created at a minute past midnight ET.

    The Perth-born paediatrician who defected to Syria in 2015 has appeared in a new Islamic State propaganda video, carrying a machine gun in a dark tunnel under Raqqa and urging lone wolves to strike in Australia and the West.
    Blue-eyed Tareq Kamleh, branded “Dr Jihad” by some Australian media, has not been seen for more than two years.
    In an official IS video released only hours ago, Kamleh’s face is noticeably gaunt and he sports a long beard.
    The doctor, believed to be in his late twenties, sits in a bleak narrow tunnel, carved underneath the jihadist-held city of Raqqa in Syria.
    Kamleh, clad in olive combat gear and wearing a black tactical vest, brandishes an AK-47 and derides Muslims living in the West in a carefully choreographed monologue.
