Lavish London mansions. A hand-painted Rolls-Royce. And eight dead friends. For the British fixer Scot Young, working for Vladimir Putin’s most vocal critic meant stunning perks – but also constant danger. His gruesome death is one of 14 that US spy agencies have linked to Russia – but the UK police shut down every last case. A bombshell cache of documents today reveals the full story of a ring of death on British soil that the government has ignored.

The girl’s mother, Nijma Ahmed, 50, told the Associated Press that before her daughter lost consciousness, she said that her husband had tied her up and forced himself on her. “She looked like she was butchered,” she said about her daughter’s injuries.

Elham Assi, 13, bled to death hours after she spoke to her mother and just days after she was married to a 23-year-old man. She died on April 2 in the deeply poor Yemeni village of Shueba, some 200 kilometers northwest of the capital. Her husband, Abed al-Hikmi, is in police custody.

    https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2017/6/17/saudi-cleric-escapes-assassination-attempt-in-rebel-controlled-syria

“A Syrian-based Saudi cleric cheated death again this week, after the second alleged assassination attempt against him since he was named on a “terrorist blacklist” by Riyadh early in July.

Abdullah al-Muhaysini says he escaped without injury when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives close to his armoured vehicle in rebel-held Idlib province.

Muhaysini told followers in an online video that he was unharmed but reports suggest the driver of his vehicle died in the blast.

“We got in the car and a man approached us wearing a suicide vest. He came close to the car and blew himself up,” he said, according to Reuters.

The radical sheikh arrived to Syria in 2013, and has been prominant in jihadi factions opposed to Bashar al-Assad.

Muhaysini is a popular figure among Salafi-jihadis and frequently makes speeches from Idlib which are widely shared by supporters on social media.

A self-styled Salafi preacher, Muhaysini has been spotted with a rifle in hand and urging rebel fighters to carry out suicide bombings and “wage jihad” against the Assad regime.

Yells “Allahu Akbar” in the M2 and it’s panic

    By Laurent Antonoff 16.06.2017
It was 1:30 pm Friday at the Bessières station of the M2 in Lausanne. The doors of an oar opened. People come out panicked while running. “I was among them,” says one passenger. A man started shouting Allahu Akbar in the subway. Fort. Several times. We ran out of there. Many have gone into the elevator. We were wondering if we were not going to hear an explosion behind us. “The oar returned with the unknown still vociferating inside in the direction of the CHUV.
The TLs confirm the incident. “The surveillance images stored are available to the police of Lausanne who opened an investigation,” said spokesman Federica Vono. The security forces received several phone calls telling them the facts. The man was finally arrested at La Sallaz. He is a Western Sahara citizen entitled to a B license. “His motives are unclear. In any case, he was not in a position to represent a danger to the population, “explains Raphaël Pomey, spokesman. Investigations are continuing.

  8. BOOM!! Protesters INTERRUPT Trump Assassination Play – RUSH STAGE — Screaming “Goebbels Would Be Proud!” (VIDEO)

PROTESTER INTERRUPTS TRUMP ASSASSINATION PLAY IN CENTRAL PARK!
SCREAMING “STOP LIBERAL VIOLENCE! — GOEBBELS WOULD BE PROUD! — YOU’RE A NAZI CROWD!!!”
The Shakespeare in the Park rendition of Julius Caesar is still scheduled to play this weekend in Central Park after the shooting of GOP Rep. Scalise by a devout Bernie Sanders supporter.

This year’s play “Julius Caesar” depicts President Donald Trump’s assassination.

  9. The attitude behind the play is one of the reasons the DC shooter opened fire, the left has spent a long time pushing the meme that the Republicans, the conservatives and the libertarians are evil for wanting limited government and individual responsibility. Combine this with the frustration the left feels because all of Obama’s big actions (with the exception of Obama Care) were carried out with executive orders and Donald Trump is removing his legacy with executive orders. The left thought they had control of the country and the people rose up and said we don’t want the left and their Marxist/communist policies.

    By J.E. Dyer June 17, 2017

Gee, can’t a guy assassinate a president on a stage without being interrupted by protesters?

I mean, it’s Shakespeare. So Julius Caesar looks exactly like President Donald Trump, in this particular production. That’s art, people.

The play has been losing sponsors due to its, er, cutting-edge artistic choice. Neanderthal-minded Philistinism is rampant.

Now, activist Laura Loomer of Rebel Media has been arrested after rushing onto the stage during the performance on Friday, 16 June, and shouting, “Stop leftist violence!” (H/t: Gateway Pundit)

  11. Shooter had ‘assassination list’ of Republican names in his pocket
    By J.E. Dyer June 16, 2017

Bret Stephens, late of the Wall Street Journal and now purporting to provide a rare non-progressive viewpoint at the New York Times, has our answer for us on James Hodgkinson, the shooter who attacked Republican congressmen at baseball practice on Wednesday morning in Alexandia, VA.

According to Stephens, Hodgkinson isn’t to be blamed on the left. Hodgkinson is, rather, an instance of the “indigenous American berserk” (Philip Roth’s characterization).

    Stephens explains:

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/06/16/shooter-assassination-list-republican-names-pocket/

Richard: This is a civil war even if the Propaganda Media doesn’t want to admit it, the left is trying to use a soft coup and terror attacks to over turn the results of the last Presidential Election. We are going to see more attacks until the talking heads admit both parties aren’t at fault, the radical left is at fault and the elected members of the radical left are pushing the attck(s) with their rhetoric about the President and his supporters.

    • Bret Stephens is a sad case. He was a genuine Good Guy. So passionate about the threat of a nuclear Iran in 2013, he had me crying and enlisting personally to fight the Deal.

Then he caught a RINO flu or some NYC/-Wall Street infection. There’s a sickness in that NYC air. It’s obvious in obnoxious grudges and in-jokes, embarrassing even in our Potus.

He became such an unhinged Never-Trumper, he even endorsed the Witch. Deranged, simply lost his mind.

Thing is, I’m certain he’d be simpatico with Jared Kushner and Ivanka. Probably went to the same cocktail parties and museum openings. Ugh.

  12. Deputy AG Rosenstein warns – ahem – against relying on anonymously sourced reporting
    By J.E. Dyer June 16, 2017

That’s pretty pointed. The obvious target of Rosenstein’s concern would be the Washington Post article this week citing “five” unnamed officials to the effect that special counsel Robert Mueller is now investigating Trump for obstruction.

Fox News sees it that way too:

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Thursday evening that Americans should “exercise caution” before believing anonymously sourced reports, an apparent reference to ongoing leaks surrounding the investigation into alleged connections between Russian officials and President Trump’s campaign.

“Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories any stories attributed to anonymous ‘officials,’” Rosenstein said in a statement, “particularly when they do not identify the country — let alone the branch or agency of government — with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated.”

    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20170617-turkish-muslim-scholars-defend-qaradawi-muslim-brotherhood-and-hamas/

“Leading Muslim scholars from Turkey published a statement on Thursday in support of the chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Shaikh Yousef Al-Qaradawi, Anadolu has reported. The elderly shaikh has been designated as a “terrorist” by Saudi Arabia and other Arab states as part of their blockade of Qatar, where he lives in exile.

“We declare that we are with the Qatari state and scholars like Qaradawi who are against imperialism,” said the Turkish scholars. “We demand that the irrational action against them ends.”

They added that the treatment to which Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas are being subjected is unjust. “Accusing these two distinguished movements [the Brotherhood and Hamas] as terrorists and counting everyone close to them as an enemy, is tantamount to wanting to destroy everyone who thinks of the Ummah and opposes imperialism.”

Describing Shaikh Al-Qaradawi and scholars like him as “the honour and the conscience” of the Muslim world, the scholars said that US President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia was the catalyst for the blockade against Qatar.

The signatories of the statement included well-known scholars like Ahmet Agirakca, Yusuf Ziya Kavakci, Ramazan Kayan, Nureddin Yildiz, Ahmet Tasgetiren and Ali Riza Demircan…”

    • Here is one of the only times that Qaradawi ever has told the truth:

Dr al-Qaradawi, who is based in Qatar and is the head of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, has stated that wife beating is allowed under Islam. “It is permissible for him [the husband] to beat her lightly with his hands, avoiding her face and other sensitive parts,” he said.

Qaradawi is a skid mark on the porcelain receptacle of Islam.

  20. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain say blockade on Qatar is necessary for ‘national security’(memo, Jun 17, 2017)
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20170617-saudi-arabia-uae-bahrain-say-blockade-on-qatar-is-necessary-for-national-security/

“Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain affirmed Friday that their recent moves to diplomatically isolate Qatar are within their rights to protect national security.

Decisions to cut ties with Qatar are a sovereign right of the States concerned and aim to protect their national security from the dangers of terrorism and extremism

said a joint declaration by the UN envoys of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain.

The statement came in response to remarks Wednesday by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein expressing “alarm” about the human rights impact of cutting off ties.

The three Gulf states said they were ready to work with relevant authorities “to maintain security, to combat terrorism and to safeguard the stability and well-being of the people of the region”.

Separately, at a joint news conference alongside British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said his country was working on a list of complaints against Qatar, according to a Saudi news channel.

On June 5, five Arab countries – Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Bahrain and Yemen – abruptly cut off diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing Doha of supporting terrorism.

Qatar denied the accusations, calling the moves to diplomatically isolate it “unjustified”.”

  21. Iraq VP accuses Qatar of having tried to split his country (reuters, Jun 17, 2017)
    http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-gulf-qatar-iraq-idUKKBN1980IO

“Qatar promoted a plan to split Iraq along sectarian lines, Iraqi Vice President Iyad Allawi said on Saturday, voicing support for the isolation of Doha by some Arab states.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have broken off ties and imposed sanctions on Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism and courting regional rival Iran – allegations Doha denies.

Allawi is a secular Shi’ite politician who has some support within Iraq’s Sunni community. His position as vice president is largely ceremonial and his views do not reflect those of the government in Baghdad, headed by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

Abadi has refused to take sides officially in the Gulf Arab rift but criticised the sanctions imposed on Qatar, saying they hurt the population, not the Qatari government.

The prime minister belongs to the Dawa party, which traditionally has close ties to Iran, Saudi Arabia’s regional foe.

“In Iraq, Qatar adopted a project similar to that of Iran; to split Iraq into a Sunni region in exchange for a Shi’ite region,” Allawi told a news conference in Cairo. “Unfortunately, some Arab states were silent when it came to Qatar.”

Allawi was in Cairo to meet Egyptian leaders including President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for discussions about oil and the conflicts in Syria, Yemen and Libya.

“It is time we all spoke honestly and made things clear (to the Qataris) so we can reach some results,” Allawi said. “After that confrontation, comes reconciliation.””

“Romanian border police have detained 32 Iraqis hidden in a truck transporting furniture who told authorities they were trying to reach a country in Europe’s visa-free Schengen travel zone.

Police stopped the truck at the Romanian-Hungarian border Saturday and the Romanian truck driver told authorities he was headed to Italy. Police checked the vehicle and found 11 men, six women and 15 teens hidden among the furniture, all asylum-seekers in Romania.

The migrants told authorities they were headed to a Schengen country. Romania is not a member of the group. They said they hid in the truck because they did not have visas.

“Iraqi forces captured Saturday a border crossing point to Syria from the Islamic State group, increasing pressure on the extremists and getting closer to meeting up with Syrian troops and their allies who reached the border earlier this month for the first time in years.

Tribal forces and border police, supported by Iraqi and U.S.-led coalition aircraft, took part in the operation to take the al-Waleed crossing, the Iraqi Joint Operations Command said in a statement.

Al-Waleed, in the far west of Iraq, fell to the Islamic State group in 2015, giving the militants full control of the Iraq-Syria border, which they vowed to erase as part of their ambition to build their caliphate.

The judge said jail time was an option but in the end, decided against it.

Back in January, Kirk-Coehlo, 30, vandalized the Islamic Center of Davis, breaking windows, damaging property and placing bacon on door handles – a way to antagonize Muslims who don’t eat pork.

Kirk-Coehlo, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, pleaded guilty to the felony vandalism charges with a hate crime enhancement. But instead of jail time, she given five years probation and has been banned from social media for five years, given community service, ordered weekly psychiatric counseling and must pay $7,000 in restitution. She also will not be allowed to own a firearm.

The Yolo County District Attorney’s Office wanted Kirk-Coehlo to go to jail – especially considering the motive behind her attack.

“We can’t live in a free society if people’s political views are expressed through violence,” said Couzens.

It has been a difficult six months for the local Muslim community. Four local mosques have been attacked attacked or vandalized – twice at the Islamic Center of Davis. There was also last week’s anti-Shariah march in Roseville.

“A felony conviction is something that will follow her for the rest of her life, and 5 years probation is no joke either,” said Saad Sweilem. He’s a civil rights attorney based in Sacramento.

Like many, he’s pleased a decision has been reached, but he also points to what he calls “Islamophobic rhetoric” used during the trail used to justify what Kirk-Coehle did. He also has concerns with what seems like a light sentence.

“People might view attacks on the Muslim community as something that won’t be taken too seriously or with consequences, and that maybe people will get off lightly,” said Sweilem. “It further antagonizes the Muslim community, and they were already the victim in this case.”

Meanwhile, back at the Islamic Center, families gathered to at sunset on Friday to break their fast during this the final 10 days of the Islamic month of Ramadan, when Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk.

They have received a lot of support from the community. Inside the mosque, the walls are decorated with pictures drawn by local elementary school students and letters from the residents and community leaders from the greater Davis community following Kirk-Coehlo’s attack.

Many say it’s time to forgive and move on.

“It’s the holy month of Ramadan for us Muslims. It’s about forgiving and being a better person. We don’t want to see this young woman punished for the rest of her life. Hopefully , he will learn from this,” said one college student, who came to the mosque for the weekly Friday midday congregational prayer service and who did not want to be identified.

Kirk-Coehlo has already spent some time in jail. Along with her probation, part of her sentencing includes restorative justice, which means she will have to come to the mosque to learn more about the community she attacked, under the supervision of the DA office.

CBS13 did reach out to Ms. Kirk-Coehlo for comment, but did not hear back. Her attorneys told CBS 13 that they will not be commenting on this case.

“THE European Union’s house of cards will collapse if power-hungry Eurocrats try to punish the UK for Brexit, a Swedish MEP blasted.

Peter Lundgren, of the Sweden Democrats, said Britons has shown “guts” by voting to leave the European Union last June and any attempt to punish the UK would backlash on the bloc.

Mr Lundgren told Expresscouk: “It is very hard to say, there is always a possibility, of course, they are quite unpredictable to deal with in this house.

“If they try to punish the UK for having the guts to leave this project, then I think the crack in this house will be even bigger, it will fall together like a card house.

“I mean, if you and I, we went to join as a member in a club or something, we are always free to leave that club when we want.

“Of course it should be the same with the European Union. And I think the UK has a lot of guts now, they are as usual the first ones.”

Mr Lundgren brushed off doomsdays scenarios of Brexit, as the MEP said he believes it will open up new opportunities for the UK…”

“A military official says at least five people are dead after an attack on a Malian army post in the country’s volatile north.

Col. Diarran Kone, spokesman for Mali’s army, says eight others were wounded in the attack in Bintagoungou early Saturday.

While there are no immediate claims of responsibility, the attack is similar to others by jihadists active in the region. A number of extremist groups are present in the West African nation.

The Malian military and U.N. peacekeepers are frequent targets of the Islamic extremists who once ruled northern Mali’s towns. They were ousted in 2013 by a French-led military operation but continue to carry out attacks.”

Somalia has one of the highest rates of female genital mutilation.
Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a hot topic and a subject that insights anger, confusion and distress.

In many countries, the practice is extremely prevalent and shows little sign of slowing. In Egypt, for instance, between 2006-2011, the percentage of girls undergoing FGM only dropped from 77.8% to 71.6%.

    • It is uncomfortable to read material where i have to agree with the other side mostly but that is what it is.

The link Xanthippa provided leads to a lot of interesting material and not as much hyperbole as you may expect.

I disagree with the people that say it was Shakespeare. It was not. Shakespear wrote a contextually sensitive play about a particular person of particular historical significance. From the little I have read, the play in the park is a childish adaptation of a work of genius to spread their dislike of President Trump by bastardising the work of the greatest playwright in this history of the English language and maybe the world. (Italians will argue over Dante and with cause).

However the fact is, we are fighting for a system. And that system is of laws and rights. Either the play is legal, or it violates incitement laws. Im gonna say it does not violate those laws based on other comments I read, which say that the assassination takes place half way through the play, and then its a morality play about how badly things go for everyone because of that political assassination.

So in fact, the view the pro-Trump activists took may have been naive and under-informed.

Even if it wasn’t, I dislike this action. I would, as I have already stated, rather see them put on a play of their own expressing their views.

It feels a little like we are dangerously close to a fatally kinetic divide in national politics in the US and I can tell you from personal experience, that Canadians are just as involved in this as Americans are. The fact that its not our country seems to make no difference to the people ready to do political violence over Trump right here at home, and while that does make it stupid perhaps, it does not make it less dangerous.

Having said all that I get that there are times where normal rule of law is suspended temporarily due to a greater threat. Pierre Trudeau did that in the 60s when he triggered the War Measures Act to deal with a separatist terror threat and it was probably the right thing to do at the time. Harper should have done it here frankly to find and get rid of the Muslim terrorists who his son, Justin, has just protected in his repeal of every safety law Harper put in.

So given an official proclamation of special measures, should it come to that, I can see these kinds of plays being called incitement. But the idea is to avoid the need for those kind of special measures by, well frankly by not being terrorists. To respect the right of free speech with those you disagree with, and to use your own as much, as loudly, and as well as possible.

I do not like opposing those on ‘our side’. And pretty much anyone doing anything to stop islamic and leftist deconstruction of our societies I do support. Even though I disagree. Burka bans being a prime example.

But on this one, I gotta say I think it was a bad idea, even though I think I would probably enjoy the company of the people who did it.

      • It feels a little like we are dangerously close to a fatally kinetic divide in national politics in the US

It will take a few more attacks before the freedom lovers who signed on with Trump go kinetic. The only way this can be avoided is for the Dems to crack down on the crazies on their side, this is unlikely because too many of their politicians agree with the idea of violence. They don’t seen to be able to understand that the people on our side who will go kinetic are for the most part highly trained and those who aren’t know people who can give them OJT.

Even if the Dem Pols decide to tone down their rhetoric we have to look at Soros and see if he wants to stop the coming civil war? I see no sign that he does, in fact his actions and hte actions of the groups he funds say that he is working to foment a civil war in all Western nations.

        • Our team was looking at a Hungarian documentary on a school funded by Soros which is actually a militant training centre for actual revolutionaries.

We decided not to do it because it was mostly here-say and the quality of the evidence was not high enough for us to do it. But I still think it was true. Just not well enough sourced to be worth the effort of translating, editing and posting.

      • I think I would probably enjoy the company of the people who did it.

They would be fun to hang out with.

  41. Pro-Trump group clashes with antifa members at Evergreen State: ‘Hatred has taken over the campus’

Word got around quickly that a conservative group supporting Republican President Donald Trump was set to arrive Thursday on the campus of Evergreen State College — one of several hotbeds of often-violent left-wing protests.

“Political Correctness and Hatred has taken over the campus. Several students have reached out to Patriot Prayer—they are upset that professors and students have been spreading lies and threats to try to control the behavior of the students at the school,” the group noted on Facebook.

Not to be outdone, antifa — self-proclaimed “anti-fascists” with a curious penchant for downright fascist behavior at such gatherings — arrived to counter-protest the Patriot Prayer group.

  42. Patriots get attacked by AntiFa with silly string at Evergreen State College

    • While this may sound picayune, back in 2008, I catered a (once-upon-a-time) friend’s birthday party in Austin, Texas. For his celebration, I hand-crafted seven different salsas, my special pulled pork taco meat, and racks of barbecued ribs. To my immense joy, a Latina came up to me and exclaimed that my taco meat and salsas were, “better than hers”. Through clenched teeth, of course.

My alarm bells started ringing when a young woman came running into the kitchen with tears streaming down her face after her (supposed) “boyfriend” fed her a tortilla chip loaded with my “Agent Orange” habanero salsa (which he told her was “mango sauce”).

Fortunately, I had a fully-chilled bottle of Finlandia vodka in the freezer and, quickly, instructed her to rinse out her mouth with a few shots of the icy liquor and lie down as part of recovering.

The final point being … my (supposed) friend and his pals called for everyone to assemble in the backyard for a “special announcement”. My “spidey sense” told me to hang well back. After the crowd gathered, these worthless shites hosed down everyone with silly string and that told me how these were useless sacks of crap were people that I no longer needed to know.

      Picayyne? Maybe. @$$holes, definitely.

We weren’t friends for many years thereafter. Guess why.
