  1. DAILY MAIL – ‘It is not expected that the little girl will be subject to sexual intercourse’: Writer and feminist Germaine Greer slammed by Q&A viewers for controversial views on child brides
Q&A panelist Germaine Greer said child brides are not forced to have sex
The author raised eyebrows when she joined the ABC program on Monday
‘You’re assuming that in child marriage there will be sexual intercourse,‘ she said
Ms Greer said child brides in India do not have sex until they are deemed ready
Viewers took to social media to slam the feminist and asked her not to return

Writer and feminist Germaine Greer has been slammed by Q&A viewers after she claimed victims of child marriage are not forced to have sex.

Ms Greer joined the ABC program’s panel on Monday night, accompanied by Assistant Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, Shadow Environment Minister Tony Burke, Victorian Senator Derryn Hinch and Chido Govera from Zimbabwe – who was almost a child bride at age 10.

The group was discussing new additions to the Australian citizenship test, which will include questions about genital mutilation and child marriage as a way of gauging if an immigrant is ‘in step with core Australian values.’

As Mr Hawke and Mr Burke discussed the subject, Ms Greer interjected her opinion.
‘What you are assuming is that in child marriage there will be sexual intercourse,’ she said.
‘If you actually look at the background to the way in which families marry, say, in village India, it is not expected that the little girl will be subject to sexual intercourse.’

‘That will be controlled by her mother-in-law probably and access to the child will only be allowed when she’s considered to be old enough to be able to deal with it.’

Mr Hinch said the child bride may be considered old enough to have sex with her adult husband by age 14.
‘Well, that used to be the British age,’ Ms Greer said.
Panelist Ms Govera revealed she was almost a child bride at age 10, but did not respond to Ms Greer’s comments.

Ms Greer also spoke about female genital mutilation, claiming thousands of woman pay to have their labia reduced in the U.S. as a cosmetic procedure.

She argued that male circumcision should be classified as genital mutilation.

Viewers were quick to criticise Ms Greer – with many of them asking for her not to join the program again.

‘Justifying child marriage? Surely we’ve seen the last of Germain Greer. I don’t think it’s right to make fun of a once great lady,’ one person wrote on Twitter.

‘Listening to Germain Greer justify FGM and child brides on Q&A will hopefully destroy extremist feminism forever,’ one man said.

‘Greer was a serious train wreck on the show. Don’t think she will be back on anytime soon.’
‘Q&A please tell Germain Greer and Derryn Hinch to stop talking, they are making idiots of themselves…it’s painful to watch!’ one man said.

‘This should be Greer’s last Q&A appearance,’ another said.
‘Germaine has truly lost it,’ a woman wrote.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4440544/Germaine-Greer-Q-child-brides-not-forced-sex.html

    • It appears that all Germaine Greer wants is female-power.

I have argued that Islam is gynophobia, that like pederasty it seeks to inflict humiliation, pain and suffering on females to alleviate their own inadequacy and anxiety – comparing themselves to women who are just naturally better at Allah worship than they are. No normal men are submitters, (if you were at all unaware of that fact).

Getting these fearful younger ethnic lovers therefore is easy. They are in awe of the older feminist white woman. She talks equally like the lowest male, acts like the lowest male, and you can have sex with her and she leaves straight afterwards like the lowest male.

She can also out-think these dumb f**ks, with her superior education, age-experience and financial independence; equally like Khadija picked out the 15-years-younger Muhammad.

Overload their fear… and inversion occurs. The Stockholm, or latterly known as the Swedish Syndrome.

Release this pressure by the protagonist dying, and the realization and anger at being duped surfaces and no woman will ever again be allowed to control them… until another Khadija returns, and the death-cycle of the spiritual parasite continues to feed through the next generation of fatherless.

Only Feminists walk fearlessly amongst Muslims.

They have choicest of pickings among gangs of cousins, easily taking the most scared, the most psychotically violent, whom they all call their “boss.”

She is the male to their female. The natural unnatural selection making Muslims no different as part of the rainbow LGBT community. Sex the closest they will ever get to Heaven. It’s in their Koran.
      https://en.europenews.dk/Houri-The-Islamic-Sex-Slave-In-Paradise-78423.html

Therefore, Feminists, these narcissists, let little girls be preyed upon. A rapist can rape a four year old child, kill her, and still know that all infants like her still hold the power over him.
Promoting Muslims and their debased activities; and then to easily suck out the marrow of their souls.

Only avenue they have left is screaming out to Allah while running down kuffar. Muhammad knew that. Destroy the mirror and anyone who enjoys pain to be able to expose them.

    • Without question, Germaine Greer represents some of the deepest depths of depravity that Western Liberalism ever has attained.

As a supposed, modern “Feminist”, this profound gender traitor has plumbed the final extents that any challenger of ostensibly “sexist” roles can possibly achieve.

A single example, “MPs attack Greer on female circumcision

In the article, she refers to outlawing the practice of FGM as, “an attack on cultural identity”, adding: “One man’s beautification is another man’s mutilation.”

      Serious sickness.

Human Rights Watch calls for ending Germany-Egypt security agreement

Human Rights Watch (HRW) called on the German parliament today to reject the proposed security agreement with the Egyptian Interior Ministry.

The agreement, which is scheduled for a vote on 28 April, lacks human rights protections and would be with a security agency whose officers have committed torture, enforced disappearances, and most likely extrajudicial killings, HRW explained in an official statement, warning that “as a result, it could make German officials complicit in serious human rights violations.”

  3. Ayman al Zawahiri warns against ‘nationalist’ agenda in Syria

Al Qaeda’s propaganda arm, As Sahab, released an audio message from emir Ayman al Zawahiri earlier today. The audio file, which was spliced together with images from the Sunni jihad in Syria, is just over six minutes long. It was released via social media, including on As Sahab’s Telegram channel.

Zawahiri warns that the Syrian war shouldn’t be considered an exclusively “nationalist” effort, because this is what the Sunni jihadists’ enemies want. Instead, he says the Syrian conflict should be viewed as the “cause of the entire Ummah,” or worldwide community of Muslims.

Zawahiri’s comments are potentially interesting in light of Al Nusrah Front’s rebranding last year, and then the group’s merger with several others to form Hay’at Tahrir al Sham (“Assembly for the Liberation of the Levant”) in January. Various al Qaeda actors and other jihadists inside Syria have debated how to best portray themselves to the world. Al Nusrah’s relaunch in July 2016 was blessed beforehand by Zawahiri’s deputy, but some al Qaeda figures rejected it.

Zawahiri does not specifically mention Hay’at Tahrir al Sham or any other group in Syria, so we can only speculate if he is commenting on some specific debate within jihadist circles. But that appears likely.

Zawahiri does explicitly endorse the insurgency in Syria, saying that it is a “guerrilla” war and the jihadists should not focus on holding territory at this time. Instead, Zawahiri says, they must focus on weakening their enemies.

    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/796215/Turkey-military-air-strikes-PKK-battle-Iraq-Syria-terrorists

“THE Turkish military has carried out air strikes against Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) militants near Iraq’s Sinjar mountains and northeastern Syria to prevent the group from sending weapons and explosives for attacks inside Turkey, it said today…”

    • reuters – Turkish warplanes strike Kurdish militants in Syria, Iraq’s Sinjar

Turkish warplanes bombed Kurdish militants in Iraq’s Sinjar region and in northeastern Syria on Tuesday, killing at least 18 fighters and officials in a widening campaign against groups affiliated with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

The air strikes in Syria targeted the YPG – a key component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which are backed by the United States and have been closing in on the Islamic State bastion of Raqqa.

The operation showed the challenges facing the U.S.-led campaign to defeat Islamic State in Syria and risked increasing tension between NATO allies Washington and Ankara over Kurdish combatants who have been crucial in driving back the jihadists.

A U.S. military officer accompanied YPG commanders on a tour of the sites hit by Turkey later on Tuesday, a Reuters witness said, demonstrating the close partnership.

At least 18 YPG fighters and media officials were killed in Tuesday’s air raids, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group reported. There was no immediate casualty report from the YPG.

The Turkish military said the two regions it struck had become “terror hubs” and the aim of the bombardment was to prevent the PKK from sending weapons and explosives for attacks inside Turkey.

“To destroy these terror hubs which threaten the security, unity and integrity of our country and our nation and as part of our rights based on international law, air strikes have been carried out … and terrorist targets have been struck with success,” the Turkish army said in a statement.

The aerial bombardment was carried out around 2 a.m. local time (2300 GMT), it added.

The YPG said in a statement its headquarters in Mount Karachok near Syria’s frontier with Turkey had been hit, including a media centre, a local radio station, communications facilities and military institutions.

      ‘NEW QANDIL’

Turkey has regularly bombed the mountainous border area between Iraq and Turkey where PKK militants are based since a ceasefire broke down in July 2015. But Tuesday’s raid was the first time they have targeted its affiliate in the Sinjar area, a separate group to the YPG.

The PKK established a presence in Sinjar after coming to the aid of its Yazidi population when Islamic State militants overran the area in the summer of 2014 and killed and captured thousands of Yazidis.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said he will not allow Sinjar, around 115 km (70 miles) from the Turkish border, to become a “new Qandil”, referring to a PKK stronghold near the borders of Turkey, Iraq and Iran.

The presence of a PKK affiliate in Sinjar is also rejected by Kurdish authorities who run their own autonomous region in northern Iraq and enjoy good relations with Turkey.

Five members of Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga forces, which are also deployed in Sinjar, were killed, and nine wounded in one of the Turkish air strikes, according to the peshmerga ministry, apparently by accident.

It said the attack was “unacceptable” but blamed the PKK for being there and demanded the group withdraw from Sinjar.

Designated a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, the PKK has waged a three-decade insurgency against the Turkish state for Kurdish autonomy. More than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict, most of them Kurds.

    • MoA – Turkish Airstrikes On Kurds Complicate U.S. Operations In Iraq And Syria

Turkey has also threatened to invade the Kurdish held areas in east-Syria at Tal Abjad to move onto Raqqa and thereby split the Kurdish held areas.

The primary winner of these Turkish operations is the Islamic State.

The YPK is now likely to divert forces from the U.S. led attack on the Islamic State in Raqqa to protect against further Turkish adventures. The PKK within Turkey may restart its guerrilla campaign against the Turkish military. The Barzani clan will come under renewed pressure by Kurdish people in Iraq as well as by the Iraqi government to loosen its ties with Turkey. All sides will blame the U.S. and its operations against Syria and the Islamic State.

The whole mess in Syria and Iraq thus becomes even more complicate than it already was.

In a new report, the auditors said that two more centers known as “hotspots” are needed to process migrants in Italy and that facilities on Greek islands where people arrive from Turkey must be improved.

In Greece, the auditors said, “there are still more migrants arriving at the hotspots than leaving, and they are seriously overcrowded.” Some children have been held in “restrictive conditions” there for more than three months.

“The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has voted in favor of re-opening monitoring procedures in Turkey. The assembly’s monitoring committee raised concerns over constitutional amendments that were approved this month in a national referendum amid a state of emergency.

Turkey rapporteur Marianne Mikko said Tuesday the amendments, which significantly expand the powers of the presidency, “do not comply with our fundamental and common understanding of democracy.”

She stressed that the monitoring process is not “punishment” but a bid to strengthen dialogue with Turkey.

The committee was critical of the atmosphere ahead of the referendum and of emergency decrees after the failed coup attempt in July 2016.

The committee pointed to the detention of parliamentarians and journalists and the sweeping dismissals of civil servants allegedly linked to the coup.”

  15. Washington D.C. To Hold Massive “Coordinated Terror Attack” Drill This Wednesday

April 26th is shaping up to be a busy day.

As we reported on Friday, that’s when Operation Gotham Shield, an exercise involving FEMA, Homeland Security and a myriad of law enforcement and military agencies and which simulates a nuclear bomb blast over Manhattan, is set to conclude.

Then, as we learned earlier, April 26 is also when the entire Senate will be briefed by Donald Trump and his four top defense and military officials on the situation in North Korea at the White House, an event which Reuters dubbed as “unusual.”

April 26 is also when the USS Carl Vinson is expected to finally arrive off the coast of the Korean Penninsula.

Now, in a statement from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, the regional association reports that “law enforcement officials and other first responders will participate in a full-scale exercise on April 26 designed to prepare for the possibility of a complex coordinated terror attack in the National Capital Region.”

TOKYO — North Korea might be talking about building missiles that can reach the United States, but Kim Jong Un’s regime already has lots of missiles that can reach Japan. North Korea later said that it was practicing to hit U.S. military bases in Japan.North Korea showed almost two decades ago that it has all of Japan in its reach. 18. N. Korea stages firing drill marking military anniv.: source

SEOUL, April 25 (Yonhap) — North Korea staged what appears to be the largest firing drill on Tuesday to mark the 85th founding anniversary of its military, a government source said.

“Signs are detected that North Korea’s military is conducting a large-scale drill around the eastern port city of Wonsan on the anniversary,” the source said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is presumed to have watched the exercise involving some 300-400 long-range artillery pieces that can put Seoul and its adjacent areas within range, it added.

The move is seen as North Korea’s show of military force against Seoul and Washington instead of staging a large-scale provocation on the founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Army.

Speculation has been rife that Pyongyang may conduct its sixth nuclear test or launch a long-range ballistic missile to mark its military event.

(Reuters) – Students who invited conservative commentator Ann Coulter to speak at the University of California at Berkeley sued school officials on Monday, saying their cancellation of the event was discriminatory and violated free speech rights.

The Berkeley College Republicans and the Young America’s Foundation said in their lawsuit, filed in federal court in San Francisco, that U.C. Berkeley was violating their constitutional rights seeking to “burden or ban” events “involving the expression of conservative viewpoints.”

The groups named University of California President Janet Napolitano and other university officials in the lawsuit. They asked the court to fine the school and award damages to organizers of the speech.

Coulter had been scheduled to speak on April 27 but the appearance was canceled by the university, Berkeley citing violence that broke out at the campus in February hours before another right-wing media figure, Milo Yiannopoulos, was scheduled to speak.

Several other conservative speakers have been met with sometimes violent protests when invited to speak at U.S. universities with liberal-leaning student bodies in recent months.

  21. New Orleans removes first of four statues deemed racially offensive

(Reuters) – New Orleans on Monday removed a statue that the mayor said glorified a 19th-century attack on police by white supremacists, the first of four monuments that the city will relocate to send a message of “diversity, inclusion and tolerance.”

Authorities took down the statue honoring the so-called Battle of Liberty Place, acting without notice and under the cover of darkness for security reasons, and will move it to a museum or other facility, Mayor Mitch Landrieu said. A federal court cleared the way for its removal in March.

Erected in 1891, the monument commemorates an 1874 attack on the racially integrated city police and state militia by the white supremacist “Crescent City White League,” the mayor’s office said.

“The statue was put up to honor the killing of police officers by white supremacists,” Landrieu told reporters in front of the city’s memorial to fallen law enforcement officers.

This is the destruction of history, not a very good section of history but without the reminder of what happened how are we going to avoid having it happen in the future?

In the Soviet Union there use to be a saying that went something like this: The future we know its the past we aren’t sure of. This came about because the communists kept rewriting the history books to remove people and events that were considered to be dangerous. What the left in the US is doing by removing this memorial and by in the future removing all statues and memorials to people they dislike is to do as the USSR did, make them non persons and try to destroy all signs that they ever existed. Since the left hates all things done by dead White Men especially Southern dead White Men how long will it be before they start removing everything connected with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson? How long before they have to remove their memorials from the National Mall in DC?

History is what happened for good or ill, denying that unpleasant things, evil things happened means that we can’t avoid making the mistakes that lead to the unpleasant and evil events. We are already seeing some of this with the Antifa people screaming because we are correctly saying they are the bad guys trying to impose censorship and we are the people fighting for freedom.

    • Pay close attention to this one, especially when she says that the Dems are keeping track of all Republican politicians that show the slightest sign of running for higher and higher offices. They are keeping dossiers for future opposition research, they are planning on taking anything that is said and twisting it to destroy anyone that is working to stop their move to take us to a full Marxist dictatorship.

I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory but it fits with other actions that we know occurred. When Bill Clinton was President he had the FBI files of all Republican and Democrat politicians brought to the White House and his people then entered them into privatly owned computers to build a data base of information about the people who might oppose the Clinton agenda.

  22. Le Pen thrives among French poor, vote analysis shows

PARIS (Reuters) – Marine Le Pen’s protectionist, anti-establishment message resonated most in parts of France with lower incomes, lower life expectancy and lower education levels, a Reuters analysis of voting in Sunday’s first round shows.

However there was no evidence that she scored particularly highly among young voters this time, many of whom backed hard-left campaigner Jean-Luc Melenchon. Moreover, it was not clear that she fared better in rural communities than in towns as some analysts have suggested.

Ahead of a May 7 runoff against centrist Emmanuel Macron, these are some conclusions that can be drawn by plotting Le Pen’s scores in France’s ‘departments’ – similar to counties – against government data on key social and economic factors.

Surveying Le Pen’s results against more than a dozen such measures, the data suggest her message played particularly well in low-income areas with higher numbers of school dropouts.

  23. Liberal marchers break out their latest knit hat du jour
By Ben Bowles April 24, 2017

As noted in these pages earlier this month, “pussy hats” — the iconic fashion statement of January’s Women’s March on Washington — have been greatly devalued now that the protesters have returned home. Next up for the overstock bin is the hat of choice of yesterday’s March on Science.

Say hello to the “brain hat,” a pink-and-white numbers worn by marchers to affirm their belief in global warming.

    According to CNN via KRTV:

Many referred to the crocheted hats as “thinking caps,” saying the headgear represents critical thinking, a cornerstone of science.

“People don’t look at both sides of an issue. We have the Trump administration, which runs on a lack of critical thinking,” said critical care nurse Craig Wright from Gainesville, Florida.

    […]

Sherry Annee, who just marked 25 years as a science teacher, decked out her brain hat with messages related to education, like the elements of the periodic table spelling out her school: B-Re-Be-U-F. (That’s boron, rhenium, beryllium, uranium and fluorine to you non-scientists.)

The hats were also ripe for jokes: “We are brain friends, a brain trust,” joked a father with his daughter and a friend.

  24. Trump prepares to get tough with Iranian arms proliferators. Politico publishes exposé of how we do it
    By J.E. Dyer April 24, 2017

A moderate to heavy swell is building in the infosphere around the Monday morning article at Politico headlined “Obama’s hidden Iran deal giveaway.”

Not unnaturally, a lot of media outlets on the right are picking up on it. The post cites government officials – some of them on the record – complaining that in his quest to get the JCPOA “deal” with Iran in 2015, Obama had counterproliferation cases quashed and investigative work shut down.

Trails, we are told, have gone cold, after 21 people – most of them located outside the U.S. at the time – were let off the hook for their prohibited proliferation activities. Seven of them were the individuals released by the U.S. in January 2016, as part of the cartel-like “prisoner exchange” with Iran. The other 14 were no longer subject to Interpol warrants for charges in American courts.

Federal employees were discouraged to see their work, in some cases years of it, go for naught. And officials in the Obama White House, along with Loretta Lynch, are implicated directly.

Indeed, the tone of the first dozen paragraphs of the article is unrelievedly critical of Obama. Since that is notably uncharacteristic of Politico, I found it curious, and wondered why we were being given this specific story, at this specific time.

  25. jihad watch – Canada’s top imam: “Jihad will continue until the Day of Judgment”

In a panel discussion in Toronto on the “Finality of Prophethood”, Nadvi called Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam a “false prophet” who abrogated the jihad in contradiction to an explicit hadith by Mohammad who said the the jihad will continue to the end of time.

Calls for jihad and sharia law by prominent imams are happening right under the noses of Canadians, but they are met with passivity by mainstream media and authorities. Another “top imam,” Syed Soharwardy, has declared that Islamic Sharia is the solution, and that the jizya tax is not discriminatory.[…]

  26. Does Marine Le Pen have a chance in the French election?

Former UK Independence Party Leader Nigel Farage on the French election and the state of the U.K. during the Brexit process.

    • WSJ – French Election: Who Is Marine Le Pen?

…….one of the most divisive politicians in Europe

    • Grand Rabbi of France calls for a vote against Le Pen

Jews are following their usual practice of trying to stymie any chance Europeans have of defending themselves against the immigration invasion. The Grand Rabbi of France has called on everyone to vote for Macron.
“once there is a policy of rejecting someone, whoever it is, that’s no longer France,” he says. According to the Grand Rabbi Korsia, “We must defend this concept of fraternity that we could see re-emerge in the market of 11 January 2015 (after the attacks against Charlie Hebdo and Hyper Cacher): this principle of fraternity now needs to live in the ballot boxes,”

“What is unchangeable about France is the welcoming, the opening to the world. France, in Hebrew, is “tsarfat”, which means “crucible”. Can you imagine a crucible in which some metals are not wanted? In the crucible that is France, we put all the metals, the characters, the origins, the hopes of which it is composed,” said the Jewish official.

Given “the facts of the second round”, people must “absolutely vote for Emmanuel Macron, the choice is simple. It has nothing to do with ideological proximity to the people; I have to be neutral institutionally. But, in this scenario, there is no question of being neutral. Yves Simon sings “the silence is always complicit or deceiving”. Today, to abstain is to be complicit or deceiving,” he says.

For the Grand Rabbi of France, during the legislative elections, “everyone can resume their political, ideological positions.” But in the second round of the presidential elections, “we must call on all those who believe in and who hope for France to vote for Emmanual Macron, because it is he who now carries this hope of fraternity…Can we dally when the stakes are the very heart of what France is?”

the guardian – Le Pen is a far-right Holocaust revisionist. Macron isn’t. Hard choice?

[…]That last take on the French election, one reflected by the Monday front pages of both the Daily Mail and the Times in this country, was the most obviously idiotic, given that Le Pen comes from a political dynasty built on the tenacious foundation of antisemitism, racism and fascism.

[…]some of us can imagine all too easily a France under the sway of a fascist leader, and what the costs of that would be. Sure, criticise Macron’s policies, but to rail against him because of your ideological idea of who he is – a banker, an insider – is the definition of decadence. Lucky you that you aren’t terrified about who – and what – he is running against.

SOT, Matteo Salvini, Lega Nord leader (Italian): “And I’d like that, those who parade in the squares remembering April 25th would understand that Islamic terrorism is the Nazism of the year 2000s, and needs to be forcefully fought.”

SOT, Matteo Salvini, Lega Nord leader (Italian): “I know that Marine Le Pen has had the pride and the courage to give a voice to the people who had no voice until last week.”

SOT, Matteo Salvini, Lega Nord leader (Italian): “The European Union is the dictatorship from which we have to free Italy and the Italian people, [and we need to do it operating] from the North till the South. People should be proud of being people.”

SOT, Matteo Salvini, Lega Nord leader (Italian): “The US are not my model [of country]. Rather it is the civil, neutral, democratic and federal Switzerland, [a country] where he who makes a mistakes pays [for it], and where military service is real for all women and men.”

  27. BREITBART – Head of Beleaguered Soros-Backed University Appeals for EU Help

BRUSSELS (AP) — The head of a Hungary-based university founded by billionaire philanthropist George Soros appealed Tuesday for European Union support to fight a new law he says is aimed at shutting the school down.
“My institution has a gun pointed to its head,” Central European University President Michael Ignatieff told lawmakers, academics and reporters at the European Parliament, a day before Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban addresses the assembly in Brussels.

Hungary’s new higher education law was approved earlier this month and is set to enter force in October. Ignatieff said it means that his campus in Budapest might not be able to accept new students after Jan. 1.

“This would be the first time since 1945 in Europe that a member state of the European Union sought to close down a free university,” he said, alongside representatives of the five biggest political groups in the parliament.

Orban says the CEU is “cheating” because it issues diplomas accepted both in the United States and in Hungary, where it has been operating since 1993. The university is accredited in New York state but has no campus there.

Orban says this gives CEU an unfair advantage over other Hungarian universities, but has denied that he wants to shut it down. Ignatieff says around 30 U.S. universities abroad do not have campuses at home, including in Cairo, Beirut and Central Asia.

The Hungarian leader will face his critics in the assembly on Wednesday as EU lawmakers debate concerns about his country, including a “Let’s Stop Brussels” campaign aimed at highlighting what he says is an EU power grab aimed at limiting the rights of member countries.

The university dispute is part of a wider government campaign against Soros. Orban claims Soros is undermining Hungarian interests because of his support for migrants. Tens of thousands of people have crossed into and through Hungary, and Orban is determined to stop more coming.

Top European Commission officials will meet with Soros in Brussels later this week. Soros will be received by EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and First Vice-President Frans Timmermans. Timmermans also will address the lawmakers Wednesday just before Orban speaks.

  29. Obama Vows To Continue Community-Organizing America
The ex-president lays out part of his agenda in Chicago.

Former President Obama suggested he will focus his post-presidency on redistributing wealth, emptying prisons, and sabotaging the economy with carbon-emission controls, during his televised return to the national stage yesterday.

Obama reiterated the politically tone-deaf radical policy priorities of his presidency in a speech at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago. (A transcript of Obama’s relatively brief oration is available here.)

In a statement preceding a roundtable discussion with students, Obama said:

The one thing that I’m absolutely convinced of is that yes, we confront a whole range of challenges from economic inequality and lack of opportunity to a criminal justice system that too often is skewed in ways that are unproductive to climate change to, you know, issues related to violence. All those problems are serious. They’re daunting. But they’re not insolvable.

“What is preventing us from tackling them and making more progress really has to do with our politics and our civic life,” Obama said. “It has to do with the fact that because of things like political gerrymandering our parties have moved further and further apart and it’s harder and harder to find common ground. Because of money and politics.”

UN said 181,436 migrants arrived in Italy last year, mostly across Mediterannean

Only 4,808 were granted asylum in Italy and 90,334 became ‘clandestini’

Only 2.65 percent of those migrants who arrived in Italy were granted asylum as genuine refugees, according to the United Nations.
The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) said 181,436 migrants arrived in Italy last year, most of them crossing the Mediterranean from north Africa in flimsy boats.
UNHCR said only 4,808 were granted asylum in Italy.

Italy’s anti-migrant Lega Nord (Northern League) party is planning to sue senior figures for allowing illegal immigration.

Breitbart reported Lega Nord leader Matteo Salvini, said: ‘It is now clear that illegal immigration is organised and financed and for this reason we have decided to bring a case against the government, the President of the Council, the ministers and the commanders of the Navy and the Coast Guard.’

The UNHCR report said 90,334 of the migrants did not even bother to request asylum but simply disappeared into the black market economy.

Of the 91,902 who applied for asylum, 54,252 had their requests rejected unconditionally.
Another 18,979 were given ‘humanitarian protection’ status and 12,873 were given ‘subsidiary protection’.

  36. Germany: PEGIDA rallies against new art installation at Neumarkt in Dresden

Anti-Islamic activists from PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West) held a protest against a sculpture symbolising “peace” and “humanity” in the modern world, in Dresden on Tuesday.

Combining various elements of Dresden’s works of art from different ages, the ‘Monument for a permanent new beginning’ was intended to represent “diversity and complexity,” creators of the sculpture, Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth, reportedly said. According to the idea of the designers, the 7.50-metre (25-foot) and €60,000 ($65,000) art work would stand on the city’s central square for two years.

However, Dresden’s PEGIDA movement have reportedly described the project as an abuse of artistic freedom and an attack on their identity. The PEGIDA activists were met by a large group of counter-protesters. No clashes were reported at the protest action.
