Orrick, of the Northern District of California, issued an injunction against the Trump administration after the city of San Francisco and county of Santa Clara sued over the president’s plan to withhold federal funds from municipalities that harbor illegal immigrants.

“After the Interior Ministry published figures on Monday showing that violent crime shot up in 2016, Germany’s main police union has called for more officers.

Speaking to the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung (NOZ), Oliver Malchow, head of the police union GdP, said that more police need to be deployed on the streets to improve the sense of security felt by Germans.

Malchow complained that police officers nationwide have piled up 22 million hours of overtime work.

“To compensate for that alone, we need 13,500 more police officers,” he said.

He added that a total of 20,000 officers were needed to face the various challenges currently being faced by German law enforcement.

Figures released by the Interior Ministry on Monday showed that violent crime rose by over six percent in 2016 compared to the previous year.

  6. ECO-TERROR: Bullets Shatter Windows Next To Prominent Global Warming Skeptic’s Office

Shots were fired at the fourth floor of a science and technology center at the University of Alabama-Huntsville sometime over the weekend, hitting windows adjacent to climatologist John Christy’s office.

No one was hurt, and university police have characterized the event as a “random shooting,” UAH spokesman Ray Garner told WHNT News. Police found “seven spent Belgian 5.7 millimeter bullet casings along Sparkman Drive” near the National Space Science and Technology Center, WHNT reported.

“My office was not hit, but the one next door and then further north had bullet impacts on the windows,” Christy told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“Appears to be a drive-by from the trajectories from the street parallel to the building,” Christy added.

    • The shooting appears to have been done with a firearm chambering the 5.7x24mm round, this round was introduced in the p90 submachine gun that was used in several seasons of Stargagte. There is also a hand gun and several rifles that use this round, it is essentiall a very high velocity 22 that from a long enough barrel will go through civilian protective vests. There are a lot of things claimed about this round that I will believe when I see them myself.

  7. ‘France Has Very Strict Gun Laws, Except For Terrorists’: Newt Gingrich

Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich criticized the policies in France that allowed a terrorist to attack and take the life of a policeman on Thursday.

As refugee crime is making a regular appearance in France’s headline news, gun rights are rapidly becoming a greater concern in the lives of the French people. The ability to legally protect themselves is also becoming a significant ballot issue as anti-refugee candidate Maine Le Pen climbs to second in the polls — and rising.

Newt Gingrich criticized the system that allowed another terrorist attack in France that took the life of a police officer. He made the comments Friday on Outnumbered on Fox News.

“There are a couple of quick observations,” Newt began. “First, France has very strict gun laws, except for terrorists, who seem to always be able to get guns.

“Second, this guy shot policemen in 2001,” he continued, “so to say he was radicalized, he was shooting people before he went to prison.”
