2. Council of Europe Warns journalists Self-Censoring Due to Police and Online Intimidation
STRASBOURG (FRANCE) (AFP) – Journalists are increasingly resorting to self-censorship to avoid falling foul of the authorities in the face of physical and psychological intimidation, the Council of Europe said Thursday.
About 40 percent of 940 journalists interviewed in a three-year study said they had experienced interference in their work serious enough for it to impact their private lives, the council said.
More than two-thirds of those questioned said they had suffered threats of violence, a third cited police intimidation and 53 percent said they were subjected to online harassment, the report by Europe’s leading human rights monitor said.
“It should therefore come as no surprise that the survey found high levels of self-censorship among journalists,” the report said.
3. Oslo airport police: – Must run a kilometer to get a gun
Police guarding the country’s main airport, are at risk of having to run far to get weapons in an emergency situation, reports NRK.
– It would take too long if there is an acute event, says operations manager Roy Alkvist.
The government-appointed committee that has considered future arming models, Wednesday gave its report to the Minister of Justice Per-Willy Amundsen.
A majority of the committee recommends that the Norwegian police remain unarmed, and have the service weapon locked up in a box in the car.
Despite that the committee believes that an unarmed police is sufficient to safeguard preparedness in Norway, Chairwoman Anne Kari Lande Hasle, questioned the preparedness at Oslo Airport.
(They may be right. Norway may be sufficiently islamic that they don’t need to use terror anymore. The Norwegians are, like Canadians, preemptively surrendering faster than demands by Muslims and Marxists can be made)
4. Swedish security police want man accused of terrorism for Islamic centre fire to be deported
Sweden’s security police (Säpo) want the suspect in a terror trial related to a fire at a community centre in Malmö last year to be deported, as they consider him a security risk.
The 30-year-old Syrian man is accused of terror offences for a fire which caused smoke damage to a Shia Muslim community centre in October. In a detention hearing at the end of the man’s trial on April 7th the judge ruled that there was no longer any need to keep him in custody, pending the final judgement in the case.
But the man’s freedom didn’t last long: security police Säpo detained him immediately afterwards. According to newspaper Sydsvenskan, it has now emerged that Säpo opened a case under Sweden’s Act on Foreign Immigration Control arguing that they believe there is evidence he has links with Isis and should therefore have his residence permit revoked.

2 – Self Censorship is more dangerous then governmental censorship, it is the thought control/political correctness/cultural Marxism working if this is done long enough the journalists and others will stop thinking the forbidden thoughts since they can’t be spoken or published.
