Top Mexican prosecutor jailed after he pleads not guilty to funneling drugs into U.S.
If you can’t beat ’em …
A Mexican attorney general once targeted for death by drug dealers was jailed Saturday in Brooklyn for importing cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine from his homeland to the United States.
Suspect Edgar Veytia, known in his home state of Nayarit as “Diablo,” allegedly netted at least $250 million from the drug ring that opened for business in 2013 — the year of his election.
The 46-year-old Veytia, in a beige shirt and dark gray pants, stared blankly in Brooklyn Federal Court before pleading not guilty to charges of conspiracy to manufacture, import and distribute drugs. He was remanded to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn pending a bail hearing.

Unfortunately, in Mexico, the corruption is so pervasive that people are left with little choice. Frequently, people like Edgar Veytia are given two options, “plata o plomo” (silver or lead).
Much like the Russian mafia, the Mexican cartels don’t just kill you. They kill your entire family, sometimes all of your relatives, too. Not much of a choice, eh?
This is yet another example of why open borders immigration is so corrosive to free societies. The immigrants can be depended to import their culture of corruption as well. No free country can withstand such an erosion of rule of law.

A new hero has been born in the Arab world and his name is Donald Trump. And this is not a joke.
Arabs and Muslims love leaders who talk tough and do not hesitate to use force. In the Arab world, compromise is a sign of weakness.
Until recently, Trump was anathema to many Arabs and Muslims. So what happened? U.S. President Donald Trump did something Arab leaders have failed to do: he helped the Syrian civilians who were being gassed by their ruler.
Arabs and Muslims have long lost faith in their leaders’ ability to deal with the crises plaguing Arab and Islamic countries. The civil war in Syria, which has been raging for more than five years and which has claimed the lives of more than half a million people, is seen as a shining best example of Arab and Muslim leaders’ incompetence and apathy.
The most recent Arab League summit in Jordan, which brought together many Arab heads of state and monarchs, will be best remembered for the photos of leaders falling asleep during the discussions. These pictures, which have been circulating widely in the Arab media, feel like salt in the festering wound of Arab leaders’ indifference to their peoples’ plights.

At least as far back as the administration of Jimmy Carter, the immigration debate has been waged by globalists who have, over time, succeeded in hijacking the language and terminology applied to immigration.
Consider that Jimmy Carter: Orignator of the Orwellian term “undocumented immigrant,” understood that by removing the term “alien” from discussions about immigration he could, over time, subvert the debate by confounding the public’s understanding about the entire immigration issue.
Carter insisted that INS employees immediately stop using the term “illegal alien” to describe aliens who were illegally present in the United States but refer to them as being “undocumented aliens.”
Today many politicians and journalists claim that illegal aliens who run America’s borders, thereby evading the inspections process conducted at ports of entry, have entered the United States “undocumented.”
In actuality, aliens who evade the inspections process enter the United States without inspection. This creates a huge threat to national security and public safety, after all, Entry Without Inspection = Entry Without Vetting.
Additionally, aliens who enter the United States through ports of entry but then go on to violate the terms of their admission, depending on the category of visa they used to enter the United States, certainly are not making “undocumented” entries.

According to Lake’s story, during the course of the US presidential campaign, and with steadily rising intensity after President Donald Trump won the November 2016 election, Rice used her access to intercepted communications of foreign intelligence targets to gather information on Trump’s advisers. Some of those reports were then leaked, injuriously, to the media in violation of US criminal statute.

On Thursday evening, President Trump met with China’s President Xi and bombed Syria. The decision came as Trump traveled on Air Force One to meet with Xi at Mar-a-Lago. An hour into their dinner, 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles launched and pounded an airbase in Syria. The message wasn’t just for Assad and Putin. It was for Xi and his North Korean client state. The era of a weak America was over.
Xi had come to America expecting an easy photo op visit. President Trump would urge action on North Korea and Xi would smile coldly and shoot him down. Talk of fairer trade would be similarly dismissed.
And then Xi would go home and laugh that the bold new American leader was another paper tiger.
Except that President Trump had a different plan. Instead of Xi showing how tough he could be, Trump gave him a front row seat to a display of American power. The message was both obvious and subtle.
And President Xi, along with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, North Korea’s Kim Jong-un and Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei, aren’t laughing.

Serbia: Police and army trade unions join students in sixth day of anti-Vucic protests
Police and army trade unions joined in as thousands of people took to the streets of Belgrade for the sixth consecutive day, on Saturday, protesting against the presidential victory of serving Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
Veljko Mijajlovic, Head of the Police trade union (Serbian): “The times when politicians, thieves and liars tried to turn the police and army against its own people, are long gone. Today, it is transfused in a strong coalition: the army, the people and the police in one place.”
Novica Antic, Head of the army trade union (Serbian): “We will not let any gangs and criminals – instructed by individuals who, just because they are in power, think they are the strongest, – to attack or molest anyone in Serbia. We are the guarantor of security in Serbia and it will remain so.”

US Senator John McCain arrived in Belgrade on Monday where he met with with Serbian Prime Minister and Presidenti-elect Aleksandar Vucic.
Addressing reporters during a joint news conference after the meeting held in the Villa Mir in Belgrade, Vucic said that he and the US official had “a successful working lunch,” and added that their conversation “went in three directions”:
“First, the issue of maintaining peace and stability in the region. Second, our bilateral relations. Third, Serbia’s participation in global trends and our stances on important questions in the world.”
“We spoke about us investing much time and strength into preserving peace, about our efforts to continue as soon as possible the (Kosovo) dialogue in Brussels, and about building relations with Montenegro, Macedonia, and Albania in the best possible way,” he said.
Vucic added that he and McCain also spoke about “peace operations, Serbia’s European road, mutual relations between the two countries, exercises and activities.”
“We had eight joint exercises in 2016, six or seven are planned for 2017, and over one hundred joint activities. That’s very fair cooperation,” he said.
According to Vucic, he repeated during today’s meeting that Serbia does not wish to join any military bloc.
“I thank McCain for the visit, he is one of the more important people in the US, and my thanks to him for showing concern for the Western Balkans. My thanks to him for not finding it difficult to hear somewhat different words in Serbia, than in other countries in the region,” Vucic concluded, stating that the US senator was “always welcome in Serbia.”
Vucic announced McCain’s visit during a news conference on Sunday, when he said the conversation would focus on “the position of Serbia, and about Kosovo and Metohija,” and also, Serbia’s “stance toward Syria, that is, about Serbia’s foreign policy orientation.”
He stressed that bilateral cooperation would “certainly be spoken about – because McCain is an influential senator whose word has a lot of weight in the US.”
Kosovo will be also be one of the topics, Vucic said, but added that “it is not easy to talk now, after such statements made by Daut Haradinaj and Hashim Thaci, and the calls on Albanians in Macedonia to take matters into their own hands.”
Earlier, Daut Haradinaj said that if his brother Ramush Haradinaj was extradited to Serbia, “not a single Serb would remain in Kosovo.”

McCain Says Russia Knew About Syrian Chemical Weapons
Pentagon Casts Doubt On AP Report Claiming Russia Knew About Syrian Chemical Attack
A Department of Defense spokesman discounted an Associated Press report that claimed Russia knew in advance about the chemical weapons attack in Syria last week that left more than 80 people dead.
“I’ve seen nothing that corroborates this definitive statement,” Major Jamie Davis told the Daily Caller in a statement Monday. “We continue to review the available intelligence surrounding this incident.”
Though Davis noted that the DOD is continuing to assess the details of the situation, he noted they have found nothing so far that could verify the AP story.
Citing an anonymous senior U.S. official, the Associated Press reported Monday that the United States concluded Russia knew in advance of the attack.
“The official said a drone operated by Russians was flying over a hospital as victims of the attack were rushing to get treatment,” the AP reported.
“Hours after the drone left, a Russian-made fighter jet bombed the hospital in what American officials believe was an attempt to cover up the usage of chemical weapons.”
“But the official said the presence of the surveillance drone over the hospital couldn’t have been a coincidence, and that Russia must have known the chemical weapons attack was coming and that victims were seeking treatment.”
A senior administration official in the White House also cast doubt on the AP report.
“At this time, there is no U.S. intelligence community consensus that Russia had foreknowledge of the Syrian chemical attack,” a senior administration official said.

Machete-Wielding Refugee in Germany Rapes Woman Camper, Makes Her Boyfriend Watch
A Ghanian refugee in Germany has been arrested after he snatched a young woman from her tent and raped her, all while her horrified boyfriend was made to watch.
The couple was on a dream camping trip in the Siegaue Nature reserve, north of the former German capital of Bonn, according to the Daily Mail, when the 31-year-old refugee approached them last week while wielding a machete.
As the refugee dragged the woman from her tent to rape her, he also threatened the boyfriend, who was forced to watch his 23-year-old lover violated.
The boyfriend contacted police and medical responders took his girlfriend to the hospital. On Saturday, the rapist was arrested in Siegburg after one person recognized him from the police wanted poster. DNA testing confirmed the attacker’s guilt, claims the police.
He attempted to escape the arrest, throwing a backpack at one police officer. The rucksack, meanwhile, turned out to be one stolen from a barbecue party shortly before the rape happened.
Rapes by migrants have become a serious problem in Germany since the refugee crises began. German police has been receiving hundreds of tips from the public about alleged sexual attacks.

China Open to Dropping Import Ban on American Beef
President Donald Trump already appears to be getting results after his visit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to the Financial Times, China signaled that they are open to ending an import ban on American beef.
They also signaled their willingness to buy other agricultural products, demonstrating a commitment to balancing the enormous trade deficit with the United States.
The two countries are focusing on a 100-day effort to signal mutual trust on issues of trade, part of Trump’s commitment to voters during the election.
After meeting with Chinese officials at Mar-a-lago last week, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin appeared optimistic that a number of quick deals could be reached.
“We focused specifically on a more balanced economic relationship, specifically on trade,” he told reporters after the meeting. “And we focused on the desire to have very specific action items, both in the short term for the next time we get together, as well as what the goals are over the year.”
