First, I am not an expert by a very long stretch. Im simply posting what I find, that seems to lead in the right direction and may be of interest to some of our readers.
With things like M103, which is inevitably going to become a criminal code bill, and even if it doesn’t the Canadian Human Rights courts alone are sufficiently anti-truth and totalitarian that one should be thinking in terms of information security if you have any love of truth and genuine information at all.
The first thing, is phones.
So far the most practical thing I have found is this:
It appears to be a secure build of Android with what might be a good enough camera, but without the sketchiness of some of the dedicated secure phones.
By Sketchy I mean proprietary builds that could vanish overnight leaving you insecure or with no updates possible or both. This seems to be a pure android phone with no bloat and all the apps you normally can get but set up to leak less.
Having said that you still need to know how to secure it. Using a VPN, Not getting ludicrously un-private apps like Uber and so on.

As it appears that President Trump is going to sign an Obama bill which will set your 4th amendment rights back to the Soviet era, its good to know how to keep your browsing history and other online activities safe from your internet service provider. After all, you pay for the service and its none of their damn business what you do with it, much as when you buy a car its none of the dealership’s business where you go.

To keep your identity secret you need to use tails (https://tails.boum.org/install/index.en.html) Tails are what journalists use when working in countries where their work can get them killed or tortured.
Simple rules when using Yails to keep your internet activities secret:
1) Create a new identity, email, social media, ect.
2) Never ever log into an account you did not create using Tails.
3) Think of your activities, break your usual patterns.
This will keep you safe, keep in mind that you are up against governments here, this is not like downloading movies or stuff, this is serious!
