  1. Russia Anti-Graft Protests Draw Biggest Crowds Since 2012

Thousands of people gathered in Moscow and other major Russian cities on Sunday, heeding a call by opposition leader Alexei Navalny to protest against official corruption in what appeared to be some of the largest anti-government demonstrations in the last five years.

Police detained more than 700 protesters in Moscow, including Navalny, 40, who was stopped shortly after arriving on Tverskaya Street in the capital’s downtown, his spokeswoman said on Twitter. He was ordered held overnight pending arraignment, she said later.

  2. Another 14-year-old girl allegedly raped at school; this time school is remaining mum
By Howard Portnoy March 26, 2017

A case that is strikingly similar to the one playing out in Rockville, Md. has occurred. This time the venue is Charlotte, N.C. And this time it’s not just the mainstream media that are refusing to cover the story. According to CBS affiliate WBTV, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is unwilling to release details about the alleged crime or the identity of the suspects, even though, according to the mother of the victim, the school has compelling evidence that the rape likely occurred.

Police say that the victim, a 14-year-old girl girl attending Whitewater Middle School, told them that two male students forced her to perform a sex act on them in a school bathroom.

  3. When the Law Opposes the Truth Rather Than Protects It

The Canadian government suffers from many things. Among them is bad timing.

On Thursday of last week, the Canadian Parliament voted through a blasphemy law specifically designed to protect Islam. As Al-Jazeera was happy to report on Friday, the previous day’s vote condemned “Islamophobia and all forms of systemic racism and religious discrimination.” The non-binding motion that the Parliament passed also requested that a Parliamentary committee should launch a study to look at how to “develop a whole-of-government approach to reducing or eliminating systemic racism and religious discrimination, including Islamophobia”. The motion passed by 201 votes to 91.

It is just as well for those 201 Canadian legislators that they were debating all this in their distinguished national Parliament rather than the mother of all Parliaments. For had these legislators been in the House of Commons in Westminster, their thoughts may have taken on a sharper focus.

For one day earlier, the British House of Commons lived through an example of rampant Islamism rather than “Islamophobia”. And although nobody in Westminster decided to turn into a crazy Muslim-hating bigot, they did manage to see what a hateful Muslim bigot could do when armed with the simple weapons of a knife and a motor vehicle.

The Canadian Liberal MP Iqra Khalid, who introduced the motion in Canada, proclaimed that the introduction of a de facto Islamic blasphemy law in Canada was needed because “We need to continue to build those bridges among Canadians, and this is just one way that we can do this.” Hours before she said that, one of Khalid’s co-religionists was using a bridge built more than a hundred and fifty years earlier for a very different purpose.

  4. Muslim Brotherhood Front Group Seeking Removal of Listing as a “Terrorism Entity”

    by Thomas Quiggin
    March 27, 2017 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10117/irfan-canada-terrorism

The International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy (IRFAN) has been listed as a terrorism entity in Canada since 2014. It was also identified as a Muslim Brotherhood front group during testimony to the Canadian Senate along with the Muslim Association of Canada, the National Council of Canadian Muslims and Islamic Relief Canada.

The listing as a terrorism entity followed the Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) 2011 revocation of their charitable status after a multi-year investigation showed that IRFAN had been funding Hamas, otherwise known as the Muslim Brotherhood in the Palestinian territories. The CRA also made it clear that IRFAN was the successor organization to the Jerusalem Fund for Human Services (JFHS) which had also been funding Hamas. The CRA also observed that IRFAN was deliberately constructed to circumvent the Government of Canada so that it could fund Hamas after the Government of Canada refused to grant the JFHS charitable status.

In December 2016, IRFAN found out that its appeal the Minister of Public Safety to have the terrorism listing lifted was rejected.

On February 24, 2017, IRFAN and its former manager, Rasem Abdel Majid applied to the Federal Court of Canada for a judicial review of the Minister’s decision to maintain the terrorist entity listing. IRFAN listed 27 different grounds for why its supporters believe the terrorist designation should be lifted. Extracts from the motion state that:

  5. Kentucky Passes “Blue Lives Matter” Bill Into Law

Governor Matt Bevin of Kentucky signed a bill last week that will make it a hate crime to target police officers. Unofficially known as the “Blue Lives Matter” bill, it will make Kentucky the second state – after Louisiana – to provide additional legal protection to officers and other first responders.

The law will not go into effect until this summer. When it does, special hate crime protections will go into effect for police officers, putting the badge in a special category that includes religion, race, sexual orientation, and nationality.

The bill won support from both Republicans and Democrats in the Kentucky legislature, though some on the left criticized the measure.

    http://www.conservativefreepress.com/legal-scoops/kentucky-passes-blue-lives-matter-bill-law/

Richard: The left is up in arms because one of their targets is being added to the groups protected under the hate crimes law. Personally I think all murders and physical attacks should be treated equally and not add thought crimes to the list of chargeable offenses.

    • Add enhanced penalties for attacks on law enforcement officers. Maybe – just maybe – it would make a thug pause, think twice.
Kill a cop = death penalty.
Also: Can executions be expedited? Years on Death Row make no sense at all.

      • The Death Penalty is a deterrent only when applied with speed, the execution should take place withing 12 months to have any effect. The left knows this has has spent many decades developing new reasons for appeals, back in the 80s there was an attempt to limit the time for appeals on death sentences and to make the people making the appeals pay for them. The Dems voted the changes down and will continue to vote them down because the length of time between sentencing and execution gives them too big a propaganda item.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/swiss-turks-open-probes-kill-erdogan-protest-banner-46395930

“Swiss and Turkish prosecutors have opened investigations after protesters against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Switzerland’s capital hoisted a banner showing a gun pointed an image of his face next to the words “Kill Erdogan.”

Spokesman Dominik Jaeggi of the Bern police said Monday that regional prosecutors have opened a probe over alleged “public provocation of crimes or violence.” Police collected evidence when the banner was raised in the peaceful protest Saturday outside the Swiss parliament in Bern, but did not pull it down.

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency said prosecutors in Istanbul also launched a probe, instructing police to identify the demonstrators who unfurled the poster.

Anadolu said those responsible could face charges such as membership in a terror organization, insulting the president and promoting terrorist propaganda.”

    • Switzerland: Hundreds protest against Erdogan in Bern

Some 250 people took to the streets on Bern, Saturday, to protest against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Protesters, including many of Kurdish origin, marched with banners and flags denouncing Erdogan and expressing support for democracy. One protester stated that he wished “to show that the Turkish people who fight for democracy are not alone and that we are with them,” adding that Erdogan “must see that there are people that do not agree with his politics.”

Earlier on Saturday, protesters staged a rally in Bern calling for a ‘No’ vote in the April 16 referendum, which proposes a significant increase in the powers of the president.

  8. SAUDI ARABIA -80-year-old Indonesian man returns home after spending six months in Saudi jail for committing ‘immoral’ act in sacred mosque

An 80-year-old Indonesian man by the name of Sarman Parto Pai, a resident of Rembang, Central Java, just spent six month in a Saudi Arabian jail. No doubt it was a hardship, but he should still consider himself extremely lucky that he suffered no greater punishment and was able to return to his country after he was found guilty of committing a moral crime in what is considered one of the most sacred places in Islam.

According to a press release issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Sarman reportedly went to Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah pilgrimage last year. But instead of focusing on his holiness, Sarman was allegedly caught performing an “immoral” act in the basement of Masjid al-Haram, considered the holiest site for Muslims in the world.

Saudi authorities initially handed Sarman a 10-month prison term, but that was reduced to 6 months after he received legal assistance from the Indonesian Consulate General in Mecca. Sarman was also supposed to receive 80 lashes for his crime, but was shown leniency by the court because of his frailty and old age.

Following his 6-month imprisonment in a Saudi jail, Sarman has been staying at the consulate, which acted as his guarantor, since October 2016 while his freedom was being negotiated.

“I want to see my grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” Sarman said on his way to the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah before catching his flight home.

While the details of his crime were not disclosed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Merdeka reported that Saudi authorities caught Sarman with another man, from Yemen, committing an unspecified immoral act in the basement bathroom of the Masjid al-Haram.

According to Indonesia’s Consulate General to Jeddah, Muhammad Hery Saripudin, “up to 90 percent” of Indonesians currently held in Jeddah and Mecca were accused of violating moral laws in Saudi Arabia, a country whose legal system is based on traditional Sharia laws.

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/spain-court-opens-1st-european-case-syrian-officials-46396948

“A Spanish National Court judge has ordered an investigation into the alleged role of nine Syrian officials in the disappearance and execution of a man in 2013, in the first criminal case accepted by a European court against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Investigative magistrate Eloy Velasco said Monday the nine could be charged with terrorism and forced disappearance.

The case is built around the 2013 arbitrary detention, disappearance, torture and execution of a truck driver in Damascus. The complaint was filed last month by the driver’s sister, a Spanish national.

Velasco is investigating it under Spain’s principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows prosecution of crimes outside of the country only if there is a Spanish victim. In Monday’s acceptance of the case, Velasco considers the sister as the victim.”

“A French prosecutor has requested a third life sentence for the man known as “Carlos the Jackal,” once the world’s most-wanted fugitive, for a deadly 1974 attack on a Paris shopping arcade.

The Venezuelan-born Ilich Ramirez Sanchez is already serving two life sentences in France for a series of murders and attacks he has been convicted of perpetrating or organizing in the country on behalf of the Palestinian cause or of communist revolution in the 1970s and ’80s.

Prosecutor Remi Crosson du Cormier on Monday asked a Paris court to give Ramirez Sanchez the harshest sentence in French law for “the horror of this terrorist attack.”

Known worldwide as “Carlos,” the 67-year-old has denied involvement, saying there’s no proof against him.

  11. 200 more US troops headed to Iraq to ‘advise and assist’ Mosul offensive (abcnews, Mar 27, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/200-us-troops-headed-iraq-advise-iraqi-troops/story?id=46395542

“The U.S. military is sending an additional two companies of soldiers to Iraq to help Iraqi troops fighting to retake Mosul from ISIS, defense officials confirmed to ABC News.

Two companies of soldiers is equal to between 200 to 300 soldiers.

Additional members of the 82nd Airborne Division’s second combat brigade are deploying to Iraq on a temporary mission to provide additional “advise and assist” support to Iraqi forces, Colonel Joseph Scrocca, a spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve told ABC News.

“This is not a new capability,” said Scrocca. “It provides more advise and assist assets to our Iraqi partners.”

This unit of the 82nd Airborne already has 1,700 soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait helping with the advise and assist mission for Iraqi troops.

“The number of soldiers does not equate to the remainder of the brigade as had previously been surmised,” said Scrocca. News reports in recent weeks had said the Pentagon was considering sending possibly as many as 1,000 additional members from the brigade for the advise and assist mission in Mosul.

The authorized troop cap for Iraq is 5,262 though the real number is probably 6,000 with the presence of additional troops on temporary assignment. These new troops won’t count towards the cap because they’re on temporary assignment…”

  12. Pakistani cricketer walks free after hitting wife with his bat and making her drink bleach (express, Mar 27, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/784416/Pakistani-cricketer-hit-wife-bat-bleach-Leicestershire-cricket-club

“A PAKISTANI cricketer who battered his wife with his own bat, made her drink bleach and called her friends “English slag girls” has been freed and allowed to join a top cricket club – after a judge said he was “not convinced” the victim was vulnerable.

Mustafa Bashir, 34, is now set to join Leicestershire as a professional player after he was offered a contract by the club shortly before his arrest – on condition he didn’t go to prison.

Judge Richard Mansell QC said he didn’t believe the victim in the case hotel receptionist Fakhara Karim, 33, was vulnerable as she was “an intelligent woman with a network of friends” and had a college degree.

Yet Bashir had left her a broken woman after he repeatedly beat her, berated her for wearing westernised clothing, tried to turn her against her own family, and would call her a ‘slag” when she went out socialising with female friends.

During the stormy marriage, he struck Miss Karim over her back with his cricket bat because he felt she spent too long talking to a friend on the phone – saying: “If I hit you with this bat with my full power then you would be dead.”

In another terrifying meltdown, Bashir who plays for a local cricket league in Oldham, Greater Manchester, forced his wife to take tablets and drink bleach and told her to kill herself during a row over him going on a cricket tour to Holland.

Miss Karim eventually went to police and said: ‘I now feel strong enough to report this to the police. I did fear for my life, he told me he was going to kill me.”

In a statement she added: “Before I met Mustafa Bashir I was a confident, active and humorous person. I looked after myself and liked dressing up.

“I spent money on myself and enjoyed going shopping. I felt the future was bright. I was in good mental health and felt strong. After the abuse my confidence was very low and I hid myself away from family and friends.

“He didn’t like me socialising and I couldn’t accept my friends requests to go out. When she was at university she described herself as not being able to complete the work at home. Once we split it took months for me to get my self belief back and I am not back to the person I was before.

“It will take a long time to get back to how I was before. My education results got better after the split and I got a 2:1 and was able to qualify for my masters. I still find it very difficult to trust people.

“I can’t see how I could trust another man again after what happened to me. I dreamt of being in a happy relationship and I do not feel now that that will ever happen with someone else.”

Bashir admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm but his lawyer said if he was spared prison he would be able to accept a place at Leicestershire which has won the English county championship three times and produced a string of England stars including David Gower, Ray Illingworth and Peter Willey.

Passing an 18 month jail term suspended for two years Judge Mansell QC ordered Bashir to attend a workshop entitled “building better relationships” pay £1,000 costs and banned him from contacting Miss Karim indefinitely under the terms of a restraining order.

He told Bashir: “This relationship started well but you began controlling her and how she spent her money.

“You told her how to spend her money and you tried to turn her against her family who you regularly insulted. She would buy clothes that were of a western style which you disapproved of and called her a slag and said her friends were ‘English slag girls.’

“But I am not convinced she was a vulnerable person. Sometimes women who moved her from their country become trapped in a relationship where they lose their support network of family and friends and cannot speak the language.

“This is not the case her. She is plainly an intelligent woman with a network of friends and did go on to graduate university with a 2:1 and a masters – although this has had an ongoing affect on her. She had difficult trusting people now, especially men.”

He added: “With regard to the mitigating factors I am not convinced of your remorse for her, but you are sorry for the position you find yourself in over the last two years. Your current girlfriend is supporting you in court and she complains of no violence. You have employment prospects of being employed in cricket for Leicestershire Cricket Club.

“This court will not tolerate violence in a relationship of this nature. It is a very fine line between imprisonment and a suspended sentence.”

Manchester Crown Court was told the pair met in their native Pakistan and married in 2013. But Bashir was said to be a “controlling and dominating” husband who told his wife what she could spend her money on and what she should wear, who she could see.

The couple had been on a day out to Rochdale Lake in April 2014 when an argument broke out about Bashir travelling to Holland and he grabbed Miss Karim by her neck and was squeezing, until a member of the public threatened to go to the police.

Prosecutor Roger Brown said: “The parties went back home where the argument continued. He grabbed her neck again, so much that she said it was hurting a lot and at one point he picked up a knife and said that he would kill himself and she begged him not to.

“He took her into the bathroom where he grabbed a bottle of bleach and he made her drink the bleach so she would kill herself. She spat that out as she was unable to swallow it. Then he gave her tablets from the house and told her to take them. She did but again she was unable to swallow them.

“He said to her “I want you to kill yourself.”

She left the bathroom and went into the living room where the defendant called her family to tell them they had an argument and that she was not obeying him. Her family urged her to obey him and told him that she would obey…”

  13. DAILY MAIL – Indonesian girl howls through circumcision as debate heats up

Indonesian toddler Salsa Djafar was wearing a glittering golden crown decorated with ribbons and a shiny purple dress to mark a special occasion — her circumcision day.

At the celebrations attended by relatives, shrieks filled the modest, yellow-walled house in remote Gorontalo province as a traditional healer covered the 18-month-old girl with a white sheet and sliced skin off her genitals.

The healer used a knife to remove a tiny piece of skin from the hood that covers the clitoris — which she said looked like a “garlic skin” — then stuck the knife into a lemon.

It marked the end of a procedure supposed to rid the child of sin and signal she was now officially a Muslim[…]

        • Far worse is that the vast majority of those who perform these vile clitoridectomies are women.

They betray their own sisterhood even as they effectively consign young women to being raped of all sexual pleasure for the rest of their lives.

These “healers” are anything but, and living proof that some people cannot die slowly enough. Even the classic “death of a thousand cuts” would be too good for these torturing slime.

  15. Dem Senator Regrets Prosecuting Nazi Abortion Doctor
GOP Presidential March 24, 2017 Uncategorized No Comments

U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy—the longest-serving Democrat in the Senate—gave an impassioned defense of abortion. It… didn’t go as well as he planned.

Instead, Leahy expressed regret for prosecuting a case involving a Nazi abortionist from Auschwitz—and inadvertently building a pro-life case by explaining how the Nazis used abortion to exploit Jewish women, and cover up prison rape.

    Oops.

During the Supreme Court nomination hearings for Judge Neil Gorsuch, Leahy brought up personal experience about the horrors of back-alley abortions before Roe v. Wade made it legal nationwide in 1973.

While he was state’s attorney in Vermont before Roe v. Wade, Leahy regretfully explained that he had to try cases where he “prosecuted somebody for procuring abortions—and these are the dark days I don’t want to go back to.”

Unfortunately for Leahy, the case he said he regretted prosecuting was Leahy v. Bartlett: a case where the person “procuring” the abortion had hired a former Nazi abortion doctor—who had learned her “craft” in concentration camps, giving Jewish women forced abortions after they had been raped by Nazi guards.

    • Islamic State group releases video threatening Iran (ahram, Mar 27, 2017)
      http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/2/8/261755/World/Region/Islamic-State-group-releases-video-threatening-Ira.aspx

“The Islamic State group threatened Iran for its role in the region’s conflicts, in a rare Farsi-language propaganda video released on Monday.

The 36-minute video, entitled “The Farsi Land: from Yesterday till Today”, was issued through IS’s social media channels from Diyala province in neighbouring Iraq.

A masked man directs his message to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“O, Khamenei, you cursed person who controls the so-called Islamic Iranian regime, rest assured that soon we will destroy your house like this,” he says, pointing to ruins behind him.

Several captured soldiers are decapitated in the video, one of whom is wearing a “Ya Hossein” badge, indicating that he is a Shia fighter.

Shia-majority Iran has been a key backer of the Syrian and Iraqi governments as they seek to root out IS and other Sunni rebels, sending thousands of fighters and military advisers.

IS and other extremists consider Shia to be apostates, and the video accuses Iranians of persecuting Sunnis over the centuries and into modern times.

“We will conquer Iran and restore it to the Sunni Muslim nation as it was before,” says another man in the video.

The video also chastises Iran for its tolerance towards Jews.

“Iran raised its slogans against the US and Israel to deceive the Sunnis while Iranian Jews live safely in Iran under its protection, and it has provided them with temples and churches as seen in Tehran and Isfahan,” the narrator says.”

    The Civil War is Here
The left doesn’t want to secede. It wants to rule.
    March 27, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield

    A civil war has begun.

This civil war is very different than the last one. There are no cannons or cavalry charges. The left doesn’t want to secede. It wants to rule. Political conflicts become civil wars when one side refuses to accept the existing authority. The left has rejected all forms of authority that it doesn’t control.

The left has rejected the outcome of the last two presidential elections won by Republicans. It has rejected the judicial authority of the Supreme Court when it decisions don’t accord with its agenda. It rejects the legislative authority of Congress when it is not dominated by the left.

It rejected the Constitution so long ago that it hardly bears mentioning.

It was for total unilateral executive authority under Obama. And now it’s for states unilaterally deciding what laws they will follow. (As long as that involves defying immigration laws under Trump, not following them under Obama.) It was for the sacrosanct authority of the Senate when it held the majority. Then it decried the Senate as an outmoded institution when the Republicans took it over.

It was for Obama defying the orders of Federal judges, no matter how well grounded in existing law, and it is for Federal judges overriding any order by Trump on any grounds whatsoever. It was for Obama penalizing whistleblowers, but now undermining the government from within has become “patriotic”.

There is no form of legal authority that the left accepts as a permanent institution. It only utilizes forms of authority selectively when it controls them. But when government officials refuse the orders of the duly elected government because their allegiance is to an ideology whose agenda is in conflict with the President and Congress, that’s not activism, protest, politics or civil disobedience; it’s treason.

  17. Heroes in the Civil War That Is Now Upon Us
David Horowitz introduces Sheriff David Clarke at the Freedom Dinner.
    March 27, 2017
    Frontpagemag.com

Good evening and thank you for coming to this Freedom Dinner. We are here to honor three American heroes, Jon Voight, Larry Elder and Sheriff David Clarke, whom it is my privilege to introduce. To appreciate why they are heroes one has to understand the civil war that has now overtaken the political life of our country.

The most sacred rite in our political tradition is the honeymoon we give to an incoming president. We allow him to assemble his team and set his agenda before resuming our political battles. This rite sacralizes the peaceful transition of power. It recognizes that political campaigns are divisive by nature, and harsh things are said in the course of them. The presidential honeymoon is a ceremonial coming together where we reaffirm that we are one nation indivisible, one community with shared constitutional values. Having affirmed that, we can then resume our political discords.

According to the Gallup organization, the average honeymoon lasts seven months. Trump didn’t get seven seconds. He didn’t get confirmation hearings for his cabinet. He got a witch-hunt. Jeff Sessions, to single out one case, is one of a handful of the most decent human beings in the United States Senate. He is a champion of civil rights. As the attorney general of a deep South state he prosecuted the Ku Klux Klan and desegregated the schools. Yet Democrat after Democrat rose to slander him as a racist, and not one came to his defense.

The Democrats have described their post-election strategy as one of Resistance, and have made clear that their goal is to impeach the president before he has hardly begun his administration. Resistance is the way you describe the opposition to an occupying force. A partisan resistance to Nazis. It is not the appropriate attitude for an opposition party in a democracy. It is a declaration of war.

  18. No Truth Please, We’re British
Killing the messenger after the London attacks.
    March 27, 2017
    Bruce Bawer

After last Wednesday’s deadly attack outside London’s Houses of Parliament, the left-wing British media expressed outrage – not at the appalling way in which Islam and Islamic terrorism have transformed life and sown death throughout the Western world, but at the purported moral depravity of those who dare to connect the dots.

In the Guardian, Jon Henley and Amber Jamiesen sneered at Marine Le Pen for “linking the London attack to migrant policy, despite the attacker being British.” (My emphasis.) They smeared as “xenophobic” Nigel Farage’s argument “that the London attacks proved Donald Trump’s hardline immigration and anti-Muslim policies were correct.” The Independent’s Maya Oppenheimer censured Farage’s comments, too, countering his critique of multiculturalism by saying he’d “failed to mention the fact many of the victims of the attack were in fact foreigners themselves.” (My emphasis again.) Needless to say, the issue wasn’t Britishness vs. foreignness; it was Islam. But to say so was verboten. As Theresa May said (in what already seems destined to become an immortal statement), “Islamist terror” has nothing do with Islam.

Islam is a religion of hate. But when that hate manifests itself in jihadist terror, the proper leftist move is to turn away from the reality of that hate – which last Wednesday sent several innocent people to a hospital or a morgue – to the purported “hate” of decent, law-abiding individuals who have had quite enough of murderous jihadist hate. Instead of acknowledging that a large minority (if not an outright majority) of British Muslims support sharia law in the U.K. (and that more than a few privately applaud terrorism), you’re supposed to invoke the fantasy of a Britain in which all citizens, infidel and Muslim, share the same values and live together in harmony – except, of course, for the horrid Islamophobes, who, simply by mentioning the Islamic roots of Islamic terror, are exploiting terrorism, dishonoring its victims, and subverting social harmony.

  19. Huma Abedin Faked Breakup from Weiner for Election
    March 27, 2017
    Daniel Greenfield

The good news for Hillary is that Huma Weiner probably can’t cost her another election. The bad news is that they have the same taste in men.

“Huma has been working hard on her relationship with Anthony,” said a source close to the Abedin family. “He has been spending 80 to 90 percent of his time at the [Irving Place apartment] they share .?.?. If there is a disagreement, he goes to his mother’s apartment in Brooklyn.

Another source, who worked closely with Bill and Hillary Clinton for several years, corroborates this, saying the breakup was “more for optics for the campaign and [under] pressure from Hillary’s camp.”

So it was basically there for the election. And Huma and Hillary both have the same approach.

They blame “the pressures of the campaign and presidential race .?.?. and him drifting off into obscurity” for Weiner’s most recent relapse, the friend added.

    This should sound rather familiar.

  20. Rasmea Odeh to be Stripped of U.S. Citizenship and Deported
Good riddance to a terrorist Jew killer and left-wing hero.
    March 27, 2017
    Ari Lieberman

In an anti-climactic finish to a legal saga that has dragged on far too long, the case of the United States versus Rasmea Odeh has finally come to an end. Under the terms of a plea agreement worked out between justice department officials and Odeh, the terrorist fraudster who lied when filling out her naturalization papers will be required to plead guilty to violating 18 U.S.C §1425(a) which criminalizes knowingly procuring naturalization contrary to law. She will also be stripped of her U.S. citizenship and deported but will not have to serve jail time.

In 1969, Odeh was a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a foreign terrorist organization designated as such by the U.S. State Department. In February of that year, Odeh, acting in concert with additional members of the terrorist PFLP gang, planted two bombs in a Jerusalem supermarket and additional explosive devices at the nearby British consulate office.

The bombs at the consulate office caused only minor property damage but one of the bombs at the supermarket claimed the lives of two Israeli university students – Leon Kaner, 21, and Edward Jaffe, 22 and injured nine others. The second explosive, insidiously timed to go off upon arrival of first responders, was miraculously detected and diffused by security personnel.

  21. Despite Stringent Gun Control, One ‘Child or Youth’ Shot Every Day in Ontario

Despite stringent gun controls that read like a Democrat wish-list for U.S. gun policy, a new study shows the province of Ontario, Canada, witnesses one “child or youth” shot every day.

The study was conducted by the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

According to The Star, the lead author of the study, Dr. Natasha Saunders, said, “A child or youth injured by a gun each day in this province is staggering.” She believes this should serve as impetus for doctors to be more involved in the conversation about firearms in Ontario, including conversations between doctors and their patients.

Saunders said, “Our findings indicate that this is a conversation we should be having with our patients and their families, particularly with these newly-identified high-risk populations.”

The study shows that Canadian-born children and youth are prone to accidental shootings while immigrants of the same age are prone to being shot intentionally. It also shows that children and youth in rural areas were more prone to accidental shootings while those in urban environments were prone to assaults with firearms. The study offers this explanation:

King Salman, King Abdallah witness signing of key pacts in Amman

AMMAN: Saudi King Salman and Jordan’s King Abdallah on Monday attended the signing ceremony of a number of agreements, memoranda of understanding (MoU) and joint investment deals worth billions of dollars.

The agreements, signed by government officials from the two sides, include establishing a Saudi-Jordanian investment company valued at some $3 billion, an MoU in postal services offered to Haj and Umrah pilgrims between Saudi Post and its Jordanian counterpart and an agreement on environmental protection. Also signed were agreements on an executive program in the cultural field, a social executive program, an MoU in the health care sector and an MoU in the housing sector. Also included were signings for an investment protection agreement and a SR393.75 million ($105 million) loan agreement to rehabilitate and maintain the Jordanian desert highway that links Amman with the southern city of Aqaba.

The two sides also signed an MoU to study the feasibility of building two reactors operated by integrated-unit technology in Jordan to produce desalinated water and electricity.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and Jordan’s Petra news agency signed a joint cooperation MoU that will enable them to exchange expertise.

Several agreements and MoUs were signed with the Jordanian medical private sector to establish a medical treatment and rehabilitation center in Riyadh, and a project to build and operate a solar station with a capacity to produce 50 megawatts near the eastern Jordanian border.

Earlier, Mohammad Momani, Jordan’s minister of state for media affairs and government spokesman, stressed strong bilateral ties and joint visions on various political, economic and social issues of mutual concern.

“The Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council, which is headed by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, deputy crown prince and minister of defense, and Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulqi, has been created as part of joint coordination in all aspects,” Momani said in a statement on Monday. “We will invest in King Salman’s visit to further boost the currently distinguished ties.”

In statements to Arab News, Reem Badran of Saudi-Jordanian Business Council (SJBC) said Saudi investments in Jordan amount to more than $14 billion, including more than 850 investment projects.

“The Saudi Development Fund has contributed to funding development projects in Jordan by managing and overseeing the Saudi share as part of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) $5 billion 2012-2016 grant, which was given during the GCC meeting in 2011,” she said.

“So far, around $1.154 billion has been spent on different development projects intended to improve the living conditions of the population.”

Jordan’s former minister of state for media affairs, Samih Maaytah, told Arab News on Monday that Saudi Arabia plays an important role not only in the Arab world but also internationally.

Maaytah added: “Over the past year, officials from both countries have been meeting frequently in preparation for this important visit. The Jordanian leadership is keen to keep coordination at all levels with Saudi Arabia at its best, considering that the two countries have common grounds and interests when it comes to the crises that have been hitting our region since 2011.”

  24. Praising Merkel’s Approach, UN Demands Europe Punish ‘Delinquent’ Poland, Hungary for Refusing Migrants (breitbart, Mar 27, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/03/27/un-demands-punish-refusing-migrants/

“Calling for harsh sanctions on European Union (EU) nations refusing to welcome migrants, UN Human Rights Council Advisor Jean Ziegler said Germany’s open borders response to the crisis set a ‘great example’.

Ziegler, who sits on the UN Human Rights Council’s Advisory Committee, argued that EU countries with restrictive policies on migrants are “violently trampling on refugees’ human rights”, Der Tagesspiegel reports.

He called on the European Commission to suspend payments to countries trying to minimise the migrant influx, highlighting Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, and Slovakia as “delinquents”.

“If the EU were to suspend the solidarity payments to the Eastern European countries for 14 days the barbed wire fences, the prisons, and the terrible camps would be gone,” he told the German newspaper.

The UN advisor pointed to Chancellor Merkel as the leader he believes to have done and said the right things in response to a tidal wave of migrants heading for Europe.

“Germany has been exemplary on refugee issues”, he said, referring to the nation’s acceptance of and massive public spending on well over a million asylum seekers — two-thirds of whom are estimated to be illiterate.

“The hospitality, even in conservative Bavaria. The support in the cities and villages, which is still ongoing. That too is great,” Ziegler added.

In his interview with Tagesspiegel, published Sunday, the former UN commissioner also lashed out at President Donald J. Trump, describing his having become president of the U.S. as “a permanent nightmare”.

However, Ziegler said Trump’s presidency has highlighted what he sees as positive aspects of American society.

He praised “the totally spontaneous mobilisation of ‘the resistance’, and the women’s movement,” speaking of supposed grassroots movements which are reported to have close links to globalist billionaire George Soros…”

“Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka announced on Monday that Austria would begin relocation of asylum seekers from Italy and Greece, but out of obligation and not conviction.

”We are beginning the process,” he said on entering an EU Council meeting, especially because there is no way to get an extension to the exception to the transfers granted to Vienna.

”Personally,” Sobotka added, ”I do not agree with the asylum seekers redistribution system, since I believe that it constitutes an attraction” for illegal migration. In recent days, Austrian defense minister Hans Peter Doskozil (SPO) said that he was against the sending of refugees from Italy to Austria.”

    https://www.thelocal.se/20170327/man-accused-of-starting-fire-in-malm-in-the-name-of-isis

“A prosecutor has charged a Syrian man with terror offences, alleging that he started a fire at a Malmö community centre in order to spread fear in the name of Isis.

Nobody was injured in the fire at a community centre in Malmö owned by Shia Muslim organization Aldorr, but repair costs amounted to a million kronor ($113,000).

The 30-year-old suspect, who denies the charges and the allegations he is a member of Isis, is accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at the centre on October 11th last year, causing smoke damage to the building.

In December, Malmö’s district court judged in a remand hearing that, contrary to the chief prosecutor’s wishes, there was not enough evidence to consider the fire a terror incident and instead remanded him in custody on suspicion of arson.

But on Monday the prosecutor insisted that the man is affiliated with Isis and charged him with a “terror offence, alternatively arson”. The charge sheet, seen by The Local, argues that “this arson could seriously have harmed the state of Sweden. The purpose of the attack was to seriously intimidate a population group, in this case Shia Muslims, in the name of Isis,” adding that the man is a Sunni Muslim who has expressed dislike of Shia Muslims…”

  30. Pakistani man wins right to change religion from Islam to Judaism (tribune, Mar 27, 2017)
    https://tribune.com.pk/story/1366268/man-interfaith-parents-wins-right-religion-choice/

“Many people embrace Islam, but vice versa seldom known. Fishel Benkhald, 29, has finally won the right to confess the religion of his choice – Judaism.

The ministry of interior has recently given the green light in response to his application where he had sought ‘conversion/correction’ of his religion from Islam to Judaism in his national identity documents.

In the record of the country’s top database authority, Behkhald is registered as a Muslim. Faisal, as he is known in his current identity documents, was born to a Muslim father and a Jewish mother in Karachi in 1987. He was registered as a Muslim due to his father’s religion.

However, recently he made an appeal to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to allow him to return to the religion of his choice, Judaism, by correcting his faith in a Smart Card he had applied for last year.

A reliable source in the ministry of interior has informed that NADRA, which was in a fix over the issue, had asked for the ministry’s opinion to correct the religion of a former Muslim. In its response, the ministry said in writing that “the applicant may be allowed to practice religion of [his] choosing and preference”.

NADRA usually turns down such requests, especially from Muslims to any other faith, due to the sensitive religious atmosphere in the country. Although the interior ministry has given the green signal, NADRA has yet to issue a Smart Card after correcting Benkhald’s religion…”

  31. Facebook removed 85% of blasphemous material on Pakistan’s request, high court told

The interior ministry informed the Islamabad High Court on Monday that Facebook administration has been blocking illegal blasphemous content on Pakistan’s request and 85 per cent of such material on the social networking site has already been removed.

Interior Secretary Arif Khan said in his report that Facebook had responded to their letter and showed its willingness to remove content deemed blasphemous.

He said the federal government has taken ambassadors of 27 Muslim countries on board in connection with the issue. Furthermore, three arrests have been made during the course of the online blasphemy probe, out of which two people were directly involved in posting blasphemous content, he stated.

Law enforcers have also found blasphemous content from the suspects’ laptops and mobile devices. A joint interrogation team has been constituted to probe into the matter, he added.

When asked why the ambassador of the country from where the offence originated was not summoned, the interior secretary responded: “Our embassy in Washington has also taken up the matter [with the US government].”
He said banning Facebook is “not the solution of the problem”.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Ismael Shah said a team, comprising 25 members, has been working to search blasphemous content online. He said that the authority has so far taken action against 40 such pages.

He said the Facebook administration has realised the issue and “assured to comply with our demand”.

“Facebook agreeing to our demands is a big achievement,” the PTA chief said.

In his remarks, IHC Chief Justice Shaukat Siddiqui praised the government for hosting a meeting of 27 envoys of Muslims countries.

Justice Siddiqui expressed displeasure over the role of the information ministry and ordered IT Minister Anusha Rehman to come in person and explain why the issue has not been resolved as yet.

The chief justice also sought a report on amendments in the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.

The hearing of the case will resume on March 31 as the court directed all parties to submit their progress reports on the day.

The government had approached Facebook earlier this month regarding access to the records of three controversial pages accused of spreading blasphemous content. Facebook in its reply had said it is aware of the government’s reservations and that it wants to resolve the issue via bilateral dialogue and mutual understanding.

Facebook management had also decided to send a delegation to Pakistan for investigating content which the government considers to be blasphemous.
