“Authorities in two German states have expressed concern over official figures showing a huge rise in migrant crime, with the number of violent attacks having almost doubled in 2016.
“Refugees really entered onto the crime scene last year,” said Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office (LKA) president Ralf Michelfelder.
“We are very worried about the rise in violence by asylum seekers,” the police official added. The comments come following the release of figures which reveal a 95.5 per cent spike in the number of physical attacks carried out by asylum seekers and migrants.
Around 60 per cent of the assaults take place in asylum accommodation but the other 40 per cent are carried out among the general public.
This group of migrants are also heavily represented among people caught for theft and drug offences, according to this year’s statistics. But “they can now be found as suspects of crimes in almost every field”, according to the police official.
Of a total of 251,000 criminal suspects across the state in 2016, 107,417 were foreign, with 25,379 of these being asylum seekers and refugees. Syria was the most frequently seen country of origin in the latter category, followed by Gambia, and then Afghanistan.
In Bavaria, the number of crimes committed by immigrants rose 57.8 per cent from the previous year, a development which the state’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann described as “worrying”.
“The increase in crime in Bavaria in 2016 is mainly due to foreign suspects, especially immigrants,” the minister said. There had been a 3.3 per cent overall rise in the number of crimes statewide (the figure adjusted to remove offences like illegal immigration).
The number of homicides in Bavaria increased by 15 per cent in 2016, while violent crimes carried out by asylum seekers rose by 93 per cent to 3,495 cases.
Of thefts which occurred across the German state, 42.8 per cent of suspects were of foreign origin — an almost 1 per cent rise from the previous year.
Earlier this year, the Berlin Senate launched a formal inquiry to find out why migrants are overrepresented in the city’s police crime reports compared to Germans.
According to Germany’s Federal Police, the influx of newcomers from the third world since Europe’s migrant crisis directly led to an increase in crime within their jurisdiction.”

A mother accused of murdering her 14-month-old daughter was told by a Fijian imam that the toddler was possessed by an ‘evil spirit’, police say.
Ms Nikat – who had previously separated from Sanaya’s father – asked her parents in Fiji for guidance, and they told her an imam they had consulted had “determined [Sanaya] had negative energy and was possessed by an evil spirit”, it said.
Ms Nikat received lockets and prayers that she was told she and Sanaya should wear to try to remove this spirit.
She was also given a prayer which she was told could make water holy and cleanse them both.
he woman allegedly told her cousin, Rabiya Shaima Ali, that the evil spirit would leave her daughter after 40 days.
Ms Ali believed this deadline had almost been reached when Sanaya died.
Ms Nikat had told her cousin she wanted to kill herself and her daughter, seemingly out of frustration at Sanaya’s behaviour in the weeks and months before the alleged murder, the summary said.
Sanaya suffered convulsions and a seizure days before she died, it said.
She initially falsely reported to police that a barefoot stranger of African appearance had kidnapped her daughter from her pram as they walked in Olympic Park, and described the man as smelling of alcohol.
Later, she told police that she had taken the baby for a walk because the child would not stop screaming.
She said she covered the baby’s mouth and nose until she could no longer breathe and threw her body into the creek.
She said she received “no support” from her husband and that everyone criticised her and her daughter, “who they said was not a normal baby”.
Ms Nikat also allegedly told police that Sanaya would not drink the holy water the imam had given them.
She said the baby would cry and growl at the roof and pull her hair out, the summary said, and that her daughter was “better off in a better place”.
Ms Ali told police that she did not hear the baby cry on the morning of her death, or the night before, which was unusual.
Forensic pathologist Dr Victoria Francis, who performed the autopsy on Sanaya’s body, told the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday that she could not determine the exact cause of her death because she had been found in water, and they could not exclude the possibility she had drowned.
Detective Senior Sergeant Stuart Bailey conceded under cross-examination that witnesses had revealed Ms Nikat and her daughter had been very close.
Ms Nikat cried throughout the court hearing, where she was committed to stand trial for her daughter’s murder.
Magistrate Luisa Bazzani rejected defence lawyer Christopher Dane QC’s argument that she could only commit his client to a trial for infanticide, which carries a lower moral culpability and penalty than murder.
Ms Bazzani said that two psychiatric reports which mentioned Ms Nikat suffered a mental disorder related to her daughter’s birth when she allegedly killed her were untested and also discussed mental health problems that she suffered before her pregnancy.
Dutch vote in test of anti-immigrant sentiment in Europe
THE HAGUE (Reuters) – The Dutch tested their own tolerance for immigration and Islam on Wednesday in an election magnified by a furious row with Turkey, the first of three polls in the European Union this year where nationalist parties are seeking breakthroughs.
The center-right VVD party of Prime Minister Mark Rutte, 50, is vying with the PVV (Party for Freedom) of anti-Islam and anti-EU firebrand Geert Wilders, 53, to form the biggest party in parliament.
As many as 13 million voters began casting ballots at polling stations across the country that will close at 2000 GMT. A charged campaign, plus clear skies and sunshine meant high turnout was expected. National broadcaster NOS said that by 0930 GMT in the morning, turnout was at 15 percent, 2 percent ahead of the previous parliamentary election in 2012.
With as many as four out of 10 voters undecided a day before voting and a tight margin of just 4 percent between leading candidates, the outcome was unpredictable.
Wilders, who has vowed to “de-Islamicise” the Netherlands, has little chance of forming a government given that other leading parties have ruled out working with him. But a first place PVV finish would still send shockwaves across Europe.

Admiral, seven others charged with corruption in new ‘Fat Leonard’ indictment
The Justice Department unsealed a fresh indictment Tuesday charging eight Navy officials — including an admiral — with corruption and other crimes in the “Fat Leonard” bribery case, escalating an epic scandal that has dogged the Navy for four years.
Among those charged were Rear Adm. Bruce Loveless, a senior Navy intelligence officer who recently retired from a key job at the Pentagon, as well as four retired Navy captains and a retired Marine colonel. The charges cover a period of eight years, from 2006 through 2014.
The Navy personnel are accused of taking bribes in the form of lavish gifts, prostitutes and luxury hotel stays courtesy of Leonard Glenn “Fat Leonard” Francis, a Singapore-based defense contractor who has pleaded guilty to defrauding the Navy of tens of millions of dollars.
The indictment lists page after page of bribes allegedly provided to the defendants including $25,000 watches, $2,000 boxes of Cohiba cigars, $2,000 bottles of cognac and $600-per-night hotel rooms.

This is a must read article, the news is about a game changing move by Hezbollah and Iran, Hezbollah is building rocket/missile factories underground in Lebanon. These factories probably make components that are then moved to a separate facility to assemble, probably several separate assembly facilities.
The back ground about how this was brought about by Obama’s decision to pull the US out of Iraq is interesting but even more interesting is how Iran is moving to build a naval base in Syria that will make them a player in the Med. There are histories of WWII about the efforts of the Brits to keep Malta and to a lesser extent Egypt supplied through the German air interdiction campaign. There were several conveys into Malta where 5 to 10 ships left Gibraltar and one reached Malta. If Iran tries to replay this they will be up against the US Naval air assets and things will change but we will have to take out the cruise and ballistic missile bases and Iran now has the capabilities to build the Russian S300 air defense system which is suppose to be capable of making any attack expensive in planes and pilots.
Race-conscious curbs on suspensions lead to violence in New York and other cities

The Obama-era Education Department sought to radically transform school discipline. It pressured schools to reduce suspensions, in the name of fighting racial disparities. Teachers in affected school districts complain of increased disorder and physical attacks by students as a result.
In places like New York City, schools have made it more difficult for principals to suspend disruptive or threatening students. The results? Increased violence, drug use, and gang activity, according to the Manhattan Institute’s Max Eden. He looks at the consequences of the curbs on suspension imposed under Mayor Bill de Blasio in a study released today: School Discipline Reform and Disorder: Evidence from New York City Public Schools, 2012-2016.
His findings are based on student and teacher responses to questions contained in the NYC School Survey. As he notes, “the de Blasio administration removed the vast majority of school-order-related questions on the NYC School Survey, limiting our ability to judge changes in school climate. But the answers to the five questions that were asked consistently reveal a troubling pattern. According to teachers and students, school climate … deteriorated dramatically” when de Blasio’s curbs on suspensions were implemented from 2013 to 2016.
In terms of violence, 50% of schools deteriorated, and only 14% of schools improved. In terms of gang activity, 39% deteriorated, while only 11% of schools improved. For drug and alcohol use, 37% deteriorated while only 7% of schools improved. By contrast, these measures had been stable during the preceding four years before Mayor de Blasio took office.

What does Hamas mean when it says that it “accepts” an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem without recognizing Israel’s right to exist?
Is this a sign of moderation and pragmatism on the part of the extremist Islamic terror movement? Or is it just another ploy intended to deceive everyone, especially gullible Westerners, into believing that Hamas has abandoned its strategy of destroying Israel in favor of a two-state solution?
Recent reports have suggested that Hamas is moving towards “declaring a Palestinian state over the 1967 borders.”
According to the reports, Hamas is also contemplating changing its charter so that it would no longer include anti-Semitic references. The charter, which was drafted in August 1988, contains anti-Semitic passages and characterizations of Israeli society as Nazi-like in its cruelty. The same reports also claimed that Hamas’s revised charter will also state that the terror movement is not part of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Some analysts in Israel and the West have interpreted these reports as a sign that Hamas is finally endorsing a policy of pragmatism toward Israel and Jews. They are particularly excited about Hamas’s purported intention to declare (in its revised charter) that its conflict is “only with Zionism and the occupation, and not with Jews around the world.”
Judging from the analyses published by some commentators and Palestinian affairs “experts” in the past few days, one might conclude that Hamas is on its way to making a dramatic change in its vicious ideology. Unfortunately, however, the facts suggest otherwise.
Changes or no changes, the movement has no intention whatsoever of abandoning its jihad to destroy Israel and kill Jews.

“Never believe anything until it has been officially denied,” people use to say in days of the Soviet Union. Today, the same seems to be true for the European Union’s migrant policy. When German Chancellor Angela Merkel engineered the EU-Turkey deal on migrants, it was widely described by the European politicians and the media as a “breakthrough”. Merkel and other EU leaders agreed on offering a down payment of €3 billion to the regime of Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in return for its promises to “stem migrant flows”.
In December 2015, nearly four months before the EU-Turkey agreement was even formalized, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accused Chancellor Merkel of working on a “secret deal” with her Turkish counterparts. President Orbán was quite specific in his claims, apparently certain that Berlin would soon reveal the details to the public.
“Beyond what we agreed with Turkey in Brussels there’s something that doesn’t figure in the agreement,” President Orbán said in December 2015. “We’ll wake up one day — and I think this will be announced in Berlin as soon as this week — that we have to take in 400,000 to 500,000 refugees directly from Turkey.”
President Orbán was ridiculed for his claims. European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans dismissed President Orbán’s allegations of a secret deal with Turkey as “nonsense”.

GERMANY – Explosives sent to Merkel’s right-hand man found at German finance ministry
AN EXPLOSIVE-laden package has been found at the German finance ministry in Berlin.
The package was addressed to Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble.
Security services in the ministry’s post office spotted the potentially fatal package as it went through an X-ray machine, German newspaper Bild said.
The scan showed wires protruding from the package, it added.
German police confirmed the “suspicious package” contained explosives.
Police tweeted the package was found at 9.30am today and some employees had to be evacuated from the building.
Experts said after an initial investigation the package contained so-called explosives mixture which is frequently used to produce pyrotechnics.
A statement said it was designed to cause “considerable injuries when the package was opened”.
Berlin Police, said: “A suspicious package was delivered to the German Finance Ministry at about 9.30am today.
“According to our detectives a risk cannot be ruled out.
“Some finance ministry employees had to leave their rooms.
“The package was x-rayed and backed up.”
The package was then taken to away from the site to the LKA building – the State Criminal Police building – for further investigation by explosives experts.

‘Explosive’ parcel at German ministry ‘sent from Greece’
BERLIN: An “explosive” package found at the office of the German finance minister was sent from Greece, a police source in Athens said on Thursday.
German police had discovered the package at Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble’s office building earlier Wednesday, a day before he was due to host his new US counterpart Steven Mnuchin for talks.
“The package contained an explosive mix,” Berlin police said in a statement, adding that the substance is often used in the production of fireworks.
“It was designed to cause severe injuries when the package is opened,” said police.
The parcel was intercepted in the ministry mailroom.
Greece’s interior ministry said authorities in both countries were working together on the case.
The Greek police source said the package had a Greek stamp. The “sender” of the parcel was given as a key member of the opposition New Democracy party – along with his real address.
Greek authorities are examining how the package was able to leave the country containing the explosive material.
Schaeuble became extremely unpopular in Greece during the country’s crippling debt crisis as he was seen as unyielding in imposing austerity on Athens in exchange for financial aid. –AFP

FBI Director Jim Comey and NSA Head Admiral. Michael Rogers will both testify publicly in the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into Russian interference in the US election, according to Chairman Devin Nunes.
As The Hill reports, Comey has been under fierce pressure from Democrats to reveal whether the bureau is investigating alleged links between Trump’s campaign and Russian officials. His silence on the matter has angered Democrats, given the director’s public accounting last year of the FBI’s investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The FBI director is also facing pressure to reveal whether or not there is any truth to the president’s claims that Trump Tower was “wiretapped.”
This announcement comes minutes before Comey meets with the top members of the Senate Judiciary Committee amid demands that the bureau say if it is investigating any ties between Moscow and the Trump campaign. Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the committee’s chairman and ranking member, respectively, told reporters separately that they are expecting to get a closed-door briefing later Wednesday.
“I’ve been told that I’ll have a briefing this afternoon,” Grassley told reporters when asked about reports that Comey was expected to clarify any investigation into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia by Wednesday.
Grassley added that he hadn’t heard about the Wednesday deadline. Asked if she was getting a briefing with Grassley on Russia later Wednesday, Feinstein—the committee’s top Democrat—told reporters “yeah, we’re supposed to get a briefing.”
A spokeswoman for Grassley confirmed that the two senators will be briefed by Comey.

These are cities where stratospheric rates of crime, poverty, unemployment, out-of-wedlock births, homes without fathers and failed school systems have become a way of life—along with oppressive and confiscatory taxes whose only discernible achievement is to keep the leaky ship of city government afloat for as long as possible before it is inevitably capsized by economic and social calamity.??
Minneapolis, Minnesota is perhaps the least likely case in point. Camouflaged by the state as a whole, a synonym for plainspoken stability, it is just one of the many American cities that were once thriving centers of industry, prosperity and optimism—until Democrats took them over. The Trump administration is reportedly laying the groundwork for cuts of at least 50% to U.S. funding for United Nations programs. U.S. diplomats warned key UN member states to “expect a big financial restraint” on American spending at the UN at a meeting earlier this month in New York City, according to sources cited by Foreign Policy.
The United States spent nearly $10 billion in total on the United Nations in 2015 alone, based on available data. This includes U.S. payment of 22 % of the UN’s regular budget and about 28.5% of its peacekeeping budget, which together add up to over $3 billion annually. The U.S. has contributed billions of dollars more in voluntary donations to various UN agencies, programs and flash humanitarian appeals. Based on available 2015 data, cutting just the U.S. voluntary contributions by 40 % would save about $2.7 billion a year.
It has been estimated that the U.S.’s mandatory assessment for funding of the UN’s regular budget is more than that of 176 other UN member states combined. The 56 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are estimated to have constituted approximately 8.6% of global production in 2015. However, they only paid 5.6% of the UN’s regular budget and 2.4% of the UN’s peacekeeping budget.
United Nations mandatory assessed budget funding is based on the socialist formula of “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” The starting point is to calculate each member state’s mandatory budget assessments based on the proportion of each member state’s gross national product in comparison to the global gross national product. However, that is only the starting point. Many “less developed” nations’ assessments are then adjusted downward through manipulative concessions such as a debt burden discount and a low per capita income discount. Wealthier nations find themselves having to make up the shortfalls.

Some on the Left Now Criticize the Students They Created

In the last few weeks, there has been a spate of columns by writers on the left condemning the left-wing college students who riot, take over university buildings and shout down speakers with whom they differ.
These condemnations, coming about 50 years too late, should not be taken seriously.
Take New York Times columnist Frank Bruni. His latest column is filled with dismay over the way Middlebury College students attacked Charles Murray and a liberal woman professor who interviewed him (she was injured by the rioters).
I have no doubt that Bruni is sincere. However, sincerity is completely unrelated to wisdom or insight.
Here’s the problem:
It is the left that transformed universities into the moral and intellectual wastelands most are now.
It is the left that created the moral monsters known as left-wing students who do not believe in free speech, let alone tolerance.
It is the left that has taught generations of young Americans that America is essentially a despicable society that is racist and xenophobic to its core.

Muslims are keenly aware that they once controlled most of the Iberian Peninsula, and that it took the Christians 700 years of war, the Reconquista, to recover, kingdom by kingdom, all of that territory. The final victory over the Muslims took place in 1492, when the Kingdom of Granada was won by the Christians. There are now many millions of Muslims all over Europe, in France, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia, always much in the news because of the disruptions that they cause, as they challenge the laws and customs of the Infidels, vacuum up every conceivable welfare-state benefit, repay their benefactors with skyrocketing rates of criminality, and commit acts of terrorism as a useful adjunct to the relentless demographic conquest and stealth jihad inflicted on their unhappy hosts. And Spain, though it does not as yet have as large a Muslim presence as that found elsewhere in Europe. remains quite special in Muslim hearts.
For on the To-Do list of Muslims, the lands that were once part of Dar al-Islam are those that should be the first to be recovered for Muslim rule. As it says in the Qur’an 2:191, “Expel them from wherever they have expelled you.” And for several years, some Muslims in Spain have been conducting a campaign on social media in support of the Islamic State, while the Islamic State, for its part, has continually called for the “return” of Spain to Muslim rule, as in a video it produced in Spanish in which an IS spokesman says: “I say to the entire world as a warning: We are living under the Islamic flag, the Islamic caliphate. We will die for it until we liberate those occupied lands, from Jakarta to Andalusia. And I declare: Spain is the land of our forefathers and we are going to take it back with the power of Allah.”

Consider the implications for Israel if Iran gets Naval Ports in Syria and either Egypt or Libya, or both. And Hezbollah is reported to have missile factories in Lebanon the ports could provide shipping points to receive some of those missiles for Gaza and to use expanding further west.
Also think about how this makes the Southern part of Europe very vulnerable to an Iranian attack. Also Iran could set up missile launchers that would reach to every part of Europe.
I’ve been kind of preoccupied with developments on Israel’s borders over the last week. Also in London, re: Jordan.
Things are building for a major war, one the west is really unprepared for, I don’t think it will wait for Trump to rebuild our military. We are going to have to do a crash rebuild just like in WWII, quadruple the military in a year and in the second year quadruple the size at the end of year one. In WWII we could rest fairly secure in the knowledge we probably wouldn’t be hit on the mainland. In this one we are going to be hit several times, and hit hard.

On Tuesday afternoon, a sign interpreted as saying “Beware of Jews” was seen in Stamford Hill, a northern district of London and home to the largest concentration of Haredi Jews in Europe. Shomrim UK, a Jewish community safety patrol, reported the sign to local authorities. But the artist responsible apologized for offense, and explained the real intentions behind the sign.
“The people of Stamford Hill are very sadly used to instances of antisemitic hate crime, but most of those times it will be verbal abuse or even assault,” Barry Bard, Shomrim’s operational supervisor in the area, told Britain’s The Guardian. “A lot of the time it will be more of a person-to-person kind of thing, or graffiti, which is more unprofessional.”
