  1. Turkey hopes for Gülen extradition, more support in terror fight from Trump administration: Y?ld?r?m (hurriyetdailynews, Jan 20, 2017)

“Prime Minister Binali Y?ld?r?m on Jan. 20 reiterated Ankara’s key demands from the new U.S. administration under president-elect Donald Trump, hours before the 45th President’s inauguration, particularly underlining the extradition of Pennsylvania-based preacher Fethullah Gülen, accused of masterminding the July 2016 coup attempt.

“May it be beneficial. We wish for Mr. Trump’s success. There are high expectations in many parts of the world from the new administration. The leading countries of the world, the U.S. and Russia, bear a significant responsibility for global peace, tranquility and security. We expect them to give more support to Turkey’s efforts in making peace in the region permanent,” Y?ld?r?m told reporters in Ankara after Friday prayers.

He highlighted what he described as the “well-rooted” relationship between Ankara and Washington, while also noting recent “mistakes” between the two countries.

“We believe this situation will be removed in the new administration. We hope steps will be taken primarily to extradite [Gülen], the architect of the cowardly coup attempt and to stop giving support to terror organizations in the name of fighting DEASH [the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant],” Y?ld?r?m said, referring to U.S. support for the Democratic Union Party (PYD), a Syrian Kurdish affiliate of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

“Tough days are ahead of Mr. Trump. The decisions and steps that he will take in terms of transforming the global economic crisis into global prosperity will be significant,” he added.”

  3. Government orders shutdown of rights groups over ‘anti-state’ activities (tribune, Jan 20, 2017)
    http://tribune.com.pk/story/1301885/government-orders-shutdown-rights-groups-anti-state-activities/

“Authorities in Punjab have ordered several women’s and human rights groups to shut down, accusing them of unspecified “anti-state” activities, an official of a human rights group said.

The government has toughened its stance against local and international non-government bodies in recent years, accusing some of using their work as a cover for espionage. In 2015, it ordered Save the Children expelled but reversed the decision.

“They are shutting up people by harassment,” IA Rehman, an official of the independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, told Reuters on Thursday.

Police and security officials have ordered about a dozen non-government organisations (NGOs) to halt operations, mostly in Punjab, Rehman added, with groups working on women’s and human rights appearing to be the main targets.

“The provincial government has given orders to district police offices that so-and-so organisation has been indulging in anti-state activities, so ban this organisation,” he said.

Punjab Home Minister Rana Sanaullah did not respond to written queries about the orders…”

“The Trump administration will make defeating “radical Islamic terror groups” its top foreign policy goal, according to a statement posted on the White House website moments after Donald Trump’s inauguration as U.S. president.

Trump, a Republican, used his inaugural address on Friday to promise to “unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the earth.”

  5. Inauguration protesters clash with police, as violence escalates

WASHINGTON – Violent and destructive Inauguration Day protests escalated Friday afternoon ahead of the ceremonial parade, as demonstrators smashed window fronts and clashed with police — who used pepper spray and tear gas to try and control the crowd.

Authorities said roughly 90 people have been arrested so far.

In the downtown Washington area, blocks north of the Pennsylvania Avenue parade route, black-clad protesters hurled rocks at police in riot gear who used pepper spray and explosives, known as “flash bangs,” in response.

At least three officers from the Metropolitan Police Department, the District of Columbia’s agency, suffered non-life-threatening injuries related to demonstrators smashing several storefronts shortly after noon — damaging a Bank of America, Starbucks and McDonald’s about four blocks east of the White House.

A car in the area also was reportedly set on fire.

    • I have been watching FOX business and this report on FOX News, I understand why a bigger deal wasn’t made of the attacks but I am not sure that this wasn’t a mistake. The protesters are in fewer numbers then the supporters but the supporters need to know what the alt left is doing. I will bet that tonight is going to be worse and tomorrow and tomorrow night much worse.

  6. Did Bill Clinton Ogle Ivanka During the Inauguration?

The look on Hillary’s face is priceless. Her husband is 70 years old, and whatever shape his prostate is in, it would seem that his philandering eye hasn’t aged a whit.

Ivanka is 35, half Clinton’s age.

Yet the question of what he would have done with Hillary as president seems to have been amply answered here.
