      Of course, one of the perps just couldn’t help himself and had to upload his cell phone footage to Social Media. There really needs to be a major enhancement for doing this sort of publicity crap. Not only because it gives the victim unwanted exposure, but also because it’s just so incredibly fü¢king stupid.

      They simply cannot take the stress. There is no heavenly booty-call for dying as a soldier. There are no financial rewards or the taking of new wives for surviving. Altruism is not an Islamic word. You give only because Allah might take off some of His Upset Points. And in the Army you are certainly going to accrue many more of these. For it’s easier to expediently waste a life if yours is a fast-lane wasted life. Your corporals will encourage you to access this baseline. Hurrah! .

      On top of that, there have to be these quiet safe spaces to a maximum of 200 yards distances, with compass-markings, and used five times a day on prescription.

      The Christian Pastors will put their soldiers’ sins into a box, to be locked-away until opened again in Heaven, where upon Jesus will destroy them as Ransom for His Personal Sacrifice To Humanity Award in 33 AD. Only those who join his team, that is.

      The Imams however, just ask if their jihad is making a difference for the advancement of the Ummah.

      So that at some point, it is going to really dawn on them, that only sure way into Heaven for themselves, their family and friends is to join the Killing Kufr club.

    Journalist and broadcaster Bidisha hit out at columnist Andre Walker on Sky News while debating calls for immigrants to be forced to learn English before being allowed to settle in Britain.

    The outburst came after Walker claimed the UK was “addicted” to welcoming people “who don’t want to integrate”.

    He said: “We’re addicted to unskilled labour, we’re addicted to people who don’t want to integrate, we’re addicted to people who don’t want to speak English and we should just stop it – it’s crazy.”

    Reacting to the commentator’s rant, Bidisha said she was “not interested in arguing back and forth” or “sloganeering”.

    She continued: “What we need to do is look at the numbers. We actually have relatively low levels of migration and immigration – if you look at our refugee numbers, we have extremely low levels.

    “It’s certainly true that because employers are very willing to give the job to whoever will accept the lowest wage, there’s been a definite race to the bottom in terms of wages and that harms all workers.

    “Because someone who comes over and works for a very low wage is still having to pay the same prices for things.”

    “A TEENAGER has been left needing surgery after being stabbed repeatedly in a takeaway by masked thugs who apparently recorded the attack on a mobile phone.

    Chilling footage of the stabbing in Brixton, south London, has been released by Scotland Yard detectives in a bid to trace the 18-year-old’s attackers.

    Clad in black and armed with knives and belts, the clip shows at least three assailants whipping, punching and kicking several apparently defenceless victims.

    As the blows rain down one of the attackers can then be seen drawing a knife and thrusting it forward while holding a mobile in his other hand.

    The teenager, who has not been identified, was hit in the face with a belt then stabbed several times by one of the suspects, Scotland Yard said.

    When he fell to the floor one of the suspects stabbed him again before kicking him in the head.

    The teenager suffered four stab wounds to his leg, one to the abdomen and one to the arm in the attack that took place on Monday evening.

    Police said they were called to the Dallas Chicken takeaway on Brixton Road at 5.30pm….”

    “HUNDREDS of mourners have turned out to bid farewell to a man who called himself “Stud Badboy” after he was shot by police on the M62 motorway.

    Suspected gangster Yassar Yaqub died after police surrounded his Audi during a pre-planned operation on a sliproad near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, on Monday evening.

    His mother, Safia Bano, was visibly distraught and had to be physically supported by fellow mourners as his body left the Masjid Bilal mosque in Huddersfield this morning.

    Hundreds of people attended the funeral service in his hometown, with many having to stand outside as they could not fit.

    The 28-year-old died at the scene after three bullets were fired through the car’s windscreen by police.

    The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) was immediately informed and is investigating the incident.

    An inquest, also held on Friday, heard Yaqub was shot through the Audi’s windscreen after a “hard stop”.

    Bradford Coroner’s Court was told a firearm was found in the front passenger footwell of the vehicle.

    However, the local Asian community have said the police “had it in” for the father-of-two….”

    “Jordanian authorities are planning to prosecute 12 Jordanians on suspicion of hate speech aimed at victims of the New Year’s nightclub shooting attack in Istanbul, Jordanian state media has reported.

    Two Jordanians were among the 39 people killed in the shooting, which the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) had claimed responsibility for.

    The Jordan Times, quoting the official news agency Petra, said on Jan. 6 that 16 people were initially investigated over abusive online comments. It said the attorney general had ordered 12 of the suspects detained for further investigation.

    Government spokesman Mohammed Momani said the Jordanian government was considering new legislation aimed at fighting hate speech.

    Turkey also launched probes into 347 social media users who posted in support of terror after the attack.”

    Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people on Tehran University campus on Friday, Ayatollah Khatami said, “The enemy is plotting to create differences in the Iranian society and also destroy the country’s legal and decision-making institutions, including the judiciary.”

    He reiterated that the country’s officials need unity and unity cannot be acheived by chanting slogans.”

    Ayatollah Khatami’s remarks came after Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined that Iran cannot trust the US and its western allies for their bad record in complying with their commitments.

    Addressing members of the cabinet and the parliament’s presiding board and judiciary officials in Tehran, the Leader said it is typical of the US to do unethical and immoral moves and actions, and added, “The Americans cannot be trusted and, in addition to the Americans, certain other western states are also the same; hence, we should put trust in our own abilities and the US officials’ positions and performance is also a confirmation of the same fact.”

    Ayatollah Khamenei underscored his support for the government, parliament and judiciary to settle the Iranian people’s problems and improve their living conditions, and underlined that any measure taken by the three branches of power should be deemed necessary and meet the national interests.

    He also stressed the importance of supporting domestic production, and said, “Production should be given special attention in both the industrial and agricultural sectors.””

    “Kosovo’s government is calling on French authorities to release its former prime minister who has been detained facing possible extradition to Serbia to face war crimes charges.

    A French court Thursday ruled that Ramush Haradinaj, detained a day earlier, should stay in custody during extradition proceedings where the court will decide whether to turn him over to Serbian officials.

    Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said Friday officials expect “the French government to take into consideration that such warrants are fully political and have no legal or juridical base.”

    Haradinaj, 48, a former guerrilla fighter in Kosovo’s 1998-1999 war for independence from Serbia and now an opposition political leader, is accused by Serbia of committing war crimes including kidnappings, torture and killings against Serb civilians when he was a senior rebel commander in western Kosovo.

    In a message Friday on Facebook, Haradinaj deplored that France would “still respect decisions of (Slobodan) Milosevic’s former regime.”

    Haradinaj was cleared of war crimes charges in two lengthy trials by a U.N. war crimes tribunal. But Serbia accuses him of committing war crimes including kidnappings, torture and killings against Serb civilians when he was a senior rebel commander in western Kosovo…”

    “A Canadian dual national has reportedly been detained in Turkey for allegedly insulting the country’s president.

    Ece Heper, 50, was arrested on 30 December in the north-eastern town of Kars, her lawyer Sertac Celikkaleli told The Canadian Press.

    Canadian officials say they are offering consular assistance, but released no further information.
    Turkey’s penal code states that anybody who insults the president can face up to four years in prison.

    Ms Heper’s friend Emrah Bayram told the BBC she was arrested for Facebook posts critical of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

    “It’s ridiculous, she’s expressing her opinion,” he said…”

    U.S. intercepts capture senior Russian officials celebrating Trump win

    Senior officials in the Russian government celebrated Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton as a geopolitical win for Moscow, according to U.S. officials who said that American intelligence agencies intercepted communications in the aftermath of the election in which Russian officials congratulated themselves on the outcome.

    The ebullient reaction among high-ranking Russian officials — including some who U.S. officials believe had knowledge of the country’s cyber campaign to interfere in the U.S. election — contributed to the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment that Moscow’s efforts were aimed at least in part at helping Trump win the White House.

    Other key pieces of information gathered by U.S. spy agencies include the identification of “actors” involved in delivering stolen Democratic emails to the WikiLeaks website, and disparities in the levels of effort Russian intelligence entities devoted to penetrating and exploiting sensitive information stored on Democratic and Republican campaign networks.

  19. Wendy’s Employees Accused Of Refusing To Take FWPD Officer’s Order

    FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) – The Fort Worth Police Department sent a tweet to the verified account for Wendy’s restaurants Thursday night to report that employees at a location refused to take his order.

    The Fort Worth police officer says he went into the Wendy’s on I-20 near Trail Lake Drive, made eye contact with employees, and that’s when he says the employees walked to the back of the kitchen and refused to take his order.

    Wendy’s quickly tweeted back that they were, “Abruptly handling the situation.”

    Many people have reached out to Fort Worth police online to offer free meals and gift cards to other fast food chains.

  21. Black CNN commentator: Let’s be careful about calling racist attack on white man hate crime

    Earlier this week, I posted an item on Michele Norris, of NPR, who declared while a guest on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that Donald Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again” has a racist message in it tuned to a frequency that only people of color can hear:

    In the phrase ‘Make America Great Again’ there’s one word that if you are a person of color, that you sort of stumble over, and it’s the word ‘again’. Because you’re talking about going back to a time that was not very comfortable for people of color. They did not have opportunities, they were relegated to the back of the line.

    It turns out Norris is not the only the Democrat to hear that dog whistle. Back in December, Symone Sanders, former press secretary for Bernie Sanders (no relation), made a similar argument:

  22. Trump’s Election Spoils Putin’s Narrative To The Russian People

    As outgoing President Barack Obama imposed additional (largely symbolic) sanctions on Russia and the Senate scheduled hearings on Russian interference in the US elections, Vladimir Putin decided not to respond with counter sanctions. Some bloggers used treason to characterize President-elect Donald Trump’s praise of Putin as “smart” for not letting Obama’s last-minute sanctions obstruct negotiations over the “unsatisfactory state of relations” between Russia and America.

    We should all be paying attention. Russian cyberwarfare and propaganda are integral to the Russian military doctrine of hybrid war. The main target is the Russian people, who must be convinced that Russia is under imminent threat from the decadent hegemonic West. Russia’s information technologists target external enemies — NATO and EU countries– through disinformation and assistance to Russian-friendly parties. Wherever disorder threatens, Russia is there predictably to fan the flames.
    Until 2016, US politics, with its two major parties and billion dollar elections, seemed impenetrable. The Kremlin’s foreign media arms, RT and Sputnik, attracted small US audiences, and only fringe parties heeded the Kremlin’s siren call. Almost 60 percent of Americans consider Russia an unfriendly power.

    Despite these facts, Russia played a major role from the start to finish of the 2016 campaign. Trump campaign officials, who had consulted for Russian-friendly clients, were forced to withdraw, while Clinton’s top campaign officials with similar ties were left alone. Trump’s campaign comments about Putin, NATO, and ISIS opened him to charges of pro-Russian leanings. Few took notice of RT’s 2013 revelation of Clinton’s private email account that reinforced her reputation for dishonesty two years later. WikiLeaks’s release of thousands of damaging DNC, Podesta, and other private accounts starting in June left Hillary with the weak defense that “the Russians did it; pay no attention.”

    With the shocking election of Trump, some Democrats now blame Russian intervention for the upset. A cooperative media has concluded, as the New York Times put it, that “Russian hacking was meant to help elect Mr. Trump.” The political establishment has thus concluded that the Russian state hacked the emails to elect Trump, who will cancel sanctions, weaken NATO, and betray Ukraine. Per this line of thinking, Russia’s intervention thus invalidates Trump’s presidency.

    Trump’s unexpected 2016 election was a monumental intelligence/media/political failure that deserves serious non-partisan investigation of the following open questions:
    Did Putin order the hacks?

    Putin has repeatedly denied ordering any cyber-attack on US politics. He maintains that “the complexity of modern hackers made it ‘extremely difficult’ to definitively say who was responsible for the leak, and suggested that they can disguise their activities and ‘leave their mark,’ or even the mark of others.” Putin is a known liar; so we should not take his word seriously, but we should listen to what he says.

    In past “black “operations, Putin has maintained space between himself and the actual perpetrators to disguise his involvement. The Anna Politovskaya and Boris Nemtsov murders involved complicated layers of sub-contractors, hired killers, Chechen clans, and Russian underworld. The Russian mercenaries fighting in east Ukraine were purportedly paid by a Russian oligarch, not the Kremlin. The London judge in the Litvinenko polonium poisoning could only conclude that Putin was a “likely” defendant because a murder in a foreign country would have to be approved “at the highest levels.”

    Obama invoked the same logic in justifying new sanctions for Russian hacking: “Not much happens in Russia without Vladimir Putin…. this happened at the highest levels of the Russian government.” A CNN assessment, based on intelligence leaks, claims that “the use of the advanced tools suggests Russian President Vladimir Putin was involved in the hacks…. But neither of the sources said they knew of specific intelligence that directly ties Putin to the attack.”

    The likely result of a serious investigation would be a strong suspicion that Putin ordered the hacks because such operations “require high-level approval.” The Kremlin will continue to invoke “plausible deniability,” and we may have to increasingly take action in the absence of certainty of guilt.
    Who carried out the cyber attacks?

    After the DNC hack, a cyber firm (Crowdstrike) was hired by the Democratic National Committee to investigate. Crowdstrike promptly assigned blame to two cyber organizations purportedly associated with Russian intelligence. According to the released FBI-DHS Grizzly Steppe report “two different RIS [Russian Intelligence Service] actors participated in the intrusion into a U.S. political party.” They used simple spearphishing and then extracted material with a high level of sophistication. Notably, the FBI-DHS report asserts that Russian intelligence cast a broad net of 1000 targets. Another hacker (or hacking organization), calling itself Guccifer 2, with suspected ties to Russian intelligence, claimed that it hacked the DNC and Clinton Foundation and turned the material over to WikiLeaks. WikiLeaks itself has denied that it obtained the material from Russia but from a disgruntled insider. We need more detailed intelligence reports to determine whether multiple cyber-attackers are claiming the same hack.

    The US intelligence community, according to leaks, appears convinced that Russian governmental agencies are behind the hacks because of their sophistication. At least one tech company claims that the hackers used outdated codes that are widely available for download. Another unanswered question, therefore, is why such sophisticated hackers left traces to identify them almost immediately? Could this, as cautioned by Rolling Stone’s “Something About This Russian Story Stinks,” turn out to be a historic intelligence failure: “The problem with this story is that, like the Iraq-WMD mess, it takes place in the middle of a highly politicized environment during which the motives of all the relevant actors are suspect. Nothing quite adds up.”
    Was the motive to elect Donald Trump?

    To be true, reports of “incontrovertible evidence” that Putin wanted Trump elected require that our spies know Putin’s innermost thoughts. If so, they know more than all of Russia.

    What would have been Putin’s primary motive? As I have written on numerous occasions, WikiLeaks was a godsend for Putin to “show corruption in American politics.” The Kremlin media has regaled the Russian public with the US press’s own accounts of a rigged election, conspiracies against Bernie Sanders, of Soros, Goldman Sachs, and the Saudi princes determining the election outcome, the cozy relationship between the Clinton campaign and the press, and the Clintons growing rich from their political connections. Putin could now ask: Who gives these Clintons the right to criticize me and my elections? What more revenge against Hillary Clinton could Putin ask for?

    The use by Russian media of WikiLeaks for domestic consumption makes a very strong case that Putin wanted the hacked emails to bolster his tenuous hold on domestic power. The impact on the US election was secondary.

    Would Putin have seriously thought he could help elect Trump? As noted by none other than Henry Kissinger, Putin, like everyone else, would have expected a Clinton victory, perhaps even a landslide, based on the polls. For Putin “to antagonize the president-to-be by getting into an open support of the opponent doesn’t make any sense to me. They were hacking, but the use they allegedly made of this hacking eludes me.” The answer to Kissinger’s question: The hacking was meant for a domestic audience.

    Would Putin have preferred a Clinton or a Trump? A victorious Clinton would offer Putin hostile predictability, but her base would restrain her from an aggressive military and foreign policy. Trump would be unpredictable, would build up US armed forces, and have to make strong deals to meet his electoral promises. Even worse for Putin, Trump would promote US energy development and drive down the energy prices on which Putin’s Petrostate rests.

    Trump’s election spoils Putin’s narrative
    ussian propagandists, fully expecting a Clinton victory, played up Trump as the Don Quixote candidate – a shining knight fighting against all odds — about to be rolled over by the crooked American political establishment. The unanticipated consequence of his surprise victory, therefore, is an unwelcome affirmation of American democracy for the Russian people. Not only did Putin’s rubber-stamp parliament celebrate Trump’s victory. Ordinary Russians used the occasion to take a drunken holiday. Russia’s enemy lost and Russia’s “friend” won.

    The 2016 election shows Russians that, in America, a candidate can come out of nowhere – a David to slay the Goliath of crooked American politics. This is contrary to Putin’s narrative of a decadent, greedy, and aggressive US establishment that uses its political monopoly to cut down a Trump-like candidacy. This is the last message Putin wants delivered to the Russian people with his own carefully-orchestrated election scheduled for 2018.

    Trump’s election leaves Putin with a choice. He can use his propaganda to turn Trump into a monster on par with George Bush, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton or he can use the brief window of a positive US presidential figure to explore whether there are real opportunities to repair US-Russian relations. Putin must decide whether his regime can survive without the US as enemy number one.

    The WikiLeaks release of Clinton-camp emails has readied an indifferent America for a serious discussion of the worldwide threat of Russian aggression through both soft and hard power. Unfortunately, politicians on both sides of the aisle seem intent on turning such an investigation into a political football from which we learn nothing, while Putin’s nuclear saber rattling makes such a study even more urgent.

        So it is the win for Russians.
        On the other hand if Trump by some chance won…. then the USA, for short time, may be weaker . There would be demonstrations, there would be people who will beat Trump supporters, there would be more riots. Many people will work against the new president and try to prevent everything he would like to do. And Trump is not young, so it may be hard for him to keep up against the pressure. And because of the pressure media and liberals put on him hee may make mistakes, even some serious mistakes. And even without Trump’s mistakes, in a long term USA may be stronger, but in the short term…..probably not so.
        And again, many people will not believe that Russian could hack something. So again it is win (probably short term win)for Russia.

        As for Russian SVR……….everybody can make mistakes. It may even be that SVR cooperated with other people and the other people made intentional mistakes..

    Well, that’s not so unreasonable. Schumer didn’t demand that Trump change party affiliation, cut off his right arm, and sell his firstborn child into slavery.

    So, did CNN’s Dana Bash, who was conducting the interview, accuse Schumer and his party of “obstruction,” the go-to epithet used against Republicans during the Obama years? Nope. Instead, she kissed up to Schumer, reminding him that he loved making deals and was the consummate dealmaker.

    • While both parties have played the role of spoiler against the POTUS, things are likely to be a little different this time around. Especially so if the Democrats dare to impede Trump’s efforts at job creation. It is difficult to imagine anything that would infuriate voters in those previously Blue rust-belt states than hobbling the recovery of local economies.

      Methinks that the Democrats are going to find themselves being forced to go along at the risk of otherwise cementing Trump’s reelection in 2020. If PET plays his cards right, he could turn this into a no-win situation for the Democrats where their choice is playing spoiler and earning the electorate’s wrath or cooperating and making Trump look good. A lot of this will depend upon Trump’s ability to take a Centrist position and, thereby, leave little room for the polarization that has crippled America for decades.

      It might not even be that much of a reach to cite eight solid years of failed 0bama policies as the political precursor as to why Democrats will find themselves walking on eggshells for the next few years. Regardless of how hardcore Liberal all those “Occupy” millennials may be, their staggering burden of student loan debt will make a lot of them reconsider their allegiances if there is any stalling of national economic recovery.

      For those who are unaware, currently outstanding US student loan debt exceeds all combined credit card debt. It also surpasses all cumulative automobile loan debt , and approaches somewhere near one trillion dollars. As it is, most students graduate with more than $20k to +$30k worth of outstanding loans.

      Remember, student loans are not expunged by bankruptcy and this mortgaging of America’s future human capital is strangling our economy. Significant life milestones are being deferred or totally abandoned. Marriage, car purchases, home buying, and having children all are being postponed due to this financial crisis. The negative impact this has on Americ’s national economy cannot be overstated.

      This is why the Democrats will have little choice when it comes to playing ball with Trump regarding national economic recovery. Bush 2.0’s corporatism and 0bama’s Communism essentially amounted to war being declared on America’s middle class. It is a principal reason why a political outsider like Trump managed to get elected at all. In a similar manner, any of the “Never Trump” traitors are going to find their mammary gland in the Bendix if they try to play any obstructionist games.

      If voters continue to express their displeasure during all other election opportunities, there could be a real sea change in American politics.

    President Obama’s intelligence briefing Thursday on Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee also detailed widespread Russian cyber attacks on The White House, US State Department, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and unnamed American corporations, according to a report.

    The report, which as broadcast on Thursday’s NBC Nightly News, was quickly blasted by President Elect Donald Trump.

    “How did NBC get ‘an exclusive look into the top secret report he (Obama) was presented?’ Who gave them this report and why? Politics!” Trump tweeted.

    The cyberattacks dated back to 2008 and some were successful while others were thwarted, the network said.

    Russia’s motive for the attacks were reportedly to disrupt the democratic process and also as an act of revenge to the Obama Administration’s adversarial stance against Russian president Vladimir Putin.

    Trump’s tweet slamming the NBC report was sent shortly after the NBC story aired on television.

    The president elect is scheduled to receive his own high-level intelligence briefing on Friday.

    In addition to the NBC Tweet, Trump also put out other tweets Thursday evening in which he claimed the DNC would not let the FBI look at it computers and said: “So how and why are they so sure about hacking if they never even requested an examination of the computer servers? What is going on?”

    Police in Austria are “working intensely on the investigation” of at least 18 claims of sexual assault in Innsbruck during New Year’s Eve celebrations, senior police official Ernst Kranebitter stated from Innsbruck on Thursday.

    Kranebitter divulged that “a special investigation force has been built,” adding that the offenders are believed to be between 20 and 41 years-old, and are described as “Asian type people with almond eyes, and one person is described as having dyed white hair.”

    Jean-Christophe Lagarde, president of the French UDI (Union of Democrats and Independents) political party and mayor of Drancy, a northern suburb of Paris, stirred up a storm of controversy by claiming in a recent radio interview that the closure of the PSA Peugeot-Citröen auto plant in the neighbouring suburb of Aulnay-sos-Bois in December 2013 was partly due to omnipresent religious demands by Muslim workers — including work stoppages for prayer — that led to reduced productivity.

    Lagarde claimed this information was given to him by senior executives during a lunch at the PSA headquarters at the end of 2011. The company had invited local and national politicians to announce and explain the reasons for the impending closure of the plant, which employed 3,000 workers.

    Pierre-Olivier Salmon, PSA spokesman, told a reporter from the French news magazine Marianne that he had no comment to make on the claim. “This assertion is the responsibility of the person who made it. The closure of the Aulnay-sous-Bois plant needs to be seen in the context of the company’s financial position between 2010 and 2013. Measures were necessary to ensure the survival of the company.“

  30. CBC – ‘They almost froze to death’: Refugees frostbitten after walking to Manitoba border

    Two men in hospital burn ward after trying to get to Winnipeg on Christmas Eve

    Two men from Ghana are recovering in the burn ward of a Winnipeg hospital after getting lost near the Emerson border on Christmas Eve while fleeing the United States.

    The men, aged 24 and 34, were found on Highway 75 just north of Letellier, Man., on the morning of Christmas Eve after walking in the cold for several hours.

    A truck driver, who has not come forward publicly, stopped to help the men.

    The driver called 911 and an ambulance took the men to the hospital in the town of Morris, Man., before rushing the pair to the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre.

    It’s not clear how the men were able to make it over the border without being stopped, but both were disoriented and asking where immigration was when the truck driver stopped.

    ‘A very shocking sight’

    The 24-year-old man spoke to CBC on the phone on Tuesday and said he is happy to be in Canada.

    “They almost froze to death,” said Ghezae Hagos, a refugee claim counsellor at Welcome Place, a home for refugees in Winnipeg.

    “It’s a very shocking sight really,” Hagos said, adding the 24-year-old man will likely lose his fingers and had blood seeping through bandages when he visited him Wednesday.

    “He didn’t know the conditions of Canada.”

    Environment Canada records show the temperature in the Emerson, Man., area on the morning of Dec. 24 was hovering around the –18 C mark before the windchill. CBC meteorologist John Sauder said skin can freeze within 30 minutes in that temperature.

    Despite the two men’s ordeal, people that have visited them say they are in good spirits.
    ‘Very happy to be in Canada’

    “I think he’s in better spirits than the first few times I saw him,” said Henry Kuzia, who has been visiting the 24-year-old man since Tuesday.

    Kuzia said the man told him he and the 34-year-old left Minneapolis in Minnesota for Canada after their visas ran out.

    He said they took a bus from Minneapolis to Grand Forks, N.D., and then a taxi to somewhere near the Emerson border.

    There, the men walked through farmers’ fields filled with deep snow before making it to the side of Highway 75 where they begged for hours for help, he said.

    Maggie Yeboah, a member of the Ghanaian community, visited the younger man Thursday. She said the 24-year-old spoke to his mom back in Ghana and is in good spirits.

    “He’s very happy to be in Canada,” she said.

    Border refugees on the rise

    Newcomer advocates who spoke to CBC on Thursday say they’re seeing an increase in refugee claimants coming to the Manitoba border for help.

    “Just in November alone we had 31 claimants,” said Rita Chahal, the executive director of the Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council.

    Chahal said there’s a network in Minneapolis of refugee claimants who are fleeing the United States.

    They are primarily from Somalia and Ghana, she said.

    “They obviously have fear [for] their lives and that’s why they’re asking us in Canada to help them with the protection.”

    Chahal said Canada has a duty to protect refugee claimants who have arrived at or crossed the border.

    She said they are given an opportunity to apply for protection under Canadian law once they’ve arrived.
    Hearing to determine fate of the men

    The Canada Border Services Agency said the fate of the two men is now in the hands of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.

    CBSA spokeswoman Jacqueline Callin said the RCMP intercepts people who enter Canada illegally, but those seeking refuge are brought to the Emerson border to be assessed by an officer.

    Callin said if there are no admissibility concerns and a person’s claim for refuge is valid, he or she is released and a date is set for their refugee claim to be heard in Winnipeg.

However, not all EU countries are so concerned about that privacy thing. Belgium, for example, thinks that the current approach doesn’t go far enough, and that it should be extended to include all forms of mass transport.     The state premier of Baden-Württemberg wants Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria declared safe countries of origin. Asylum seekers from these countries already are rarely granted permission to remain in Germany.

    Winfried Kretschmann, the only Green state premier in Germany, will not be making any friends within his party with his latest statement. In an interview with the “Rheinische Post,” he said that his state government would be prepared to support the classification of Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria as safe countries of origin, making it easier for Germany to deport rejected asylum seekers who hail from these countries.

    ‘Alarming criminal energy’

    Kretschmann then went a step further, explaining his reasoning: “The criminal energy you find among groups of young men from these countries is alarming and must be resolutely fought.”

    Speaking about his state’s record, he added: “Baden-Württemberg has quickly and consistently reacted after each of the terror attacks over the last two years, and increased the size of security forces in the state.”

    Controversial member of the Greens

    Kretschmann has been governing the state in a coalition with the Christian Democrats (CDU) since last year. His refugee and asylum policy is highly controversial within his own Green party. A year and a half ago, when he was part of the green-red coalition with the Social Democrats (SPD), he voted to declare the Balkan states of Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro safe countries of origin, unleashing a wave of indignation in his party. His state also participated in the first wave of controversial deportations of rejected Afghan asylum seekers before Christmas – unlike other German states that are co-governed by the Greens.

    No hope of asylum

    Under Germany’s constitution, safe countries of origin are defined as countries where there is no political persecution, and where people are not subjected to “inhumane or degrading punishment and treatment.” People from safe countries of origin who apply for asylum in Germany are usually rejected.

Moore’s idea is to do as much damage as possible to Trump before he even gets sworn in. It worked against George W. Bush.

    Feminists are planning a Women’s March on Washington for Trump’s first full day as president. Organizers hope 200,000 people will show up but that number seems very optimistic.

    A Bielefeld Police spokesperson announced on Friday that the Paderborn public prosecutor’s office had issued arrest warrants for three Muslims suspected of starting a fire at the Hoevelhof-Staumuehle refugee centre.

    A gunman opened fire Friday afternoon at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, shooting at least nine people and killing one, Broward County officials said.

    A gunman was in custody, local law enforcement sources told NBC News.

    The Fort Lauderdale airport tweeted the incident occurred at a baggage claim inside Terminal 2. Passengers and workers were evacuated onto a tarmac.

    Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer tweeted he was at the airport at the time of the shooting and “everyone is running.” He later tweeted that “all seems calm.”

    She told AFP that all buildings were evacuated and an investigation was still ongoing two hours after the closure of the checkpoint, located about 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of Montreal on the border between Quebec province and the US state of New York.

    The Canadian border services agency said in a tweet that the Saint Bernard de Lacolle POE Highway 15 was currently closed.

    On its website, Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) boasts its commitment to diversity, respect for individual differences and commitment to the principles of nonviolence and peaceful conflict resolution. These and other lofty values are incorporated in MTSUs “True Blue Pledge” that incoming students take at convocation. Unfortunately, MTSU has failed to abide by its own principles and has turned a blind eye toward hate speech and incitement to violence.

    The Muslim Students Association maintains an active and pernicious presence at MTSU. Much has been written about the MSA and its nefarious origins and activities but briefly; the MSA is an Islamo-fascist organization with close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Indeed, the MB has described the MSA as one of its organizations. The MSA has received financing from various extremist elements, subscribes to an extremist ideology that incorporates elements of Wahabism and has been described by law enforcement as an “incubator for radicalization” and a “virtual terror factory.”

    The MSA has attempted to present a moderate face in its dealings with outsiders who are believed to possess clout or are otherwise deemed useful. Thus, the MSA has frequently paired with other radical, non-Muslim groups in an effort to piggy-back off the grievances of others even when those groups possess views that are not necessarily congruent with Islamic teachings. Homosexuality is banned in Islam and is punishable by death in many Muslim countries, including Shia Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia. Yet it is not uncommon to witness MSA members and their offshoots partnering with radical LGBTQ groups in bizarre symbiotic relationships to espouse shared hatred of Israel.

  43. Russia Isn’t Our Friend, but That Doesn’t Make Democrat Conspiracy Theories True

    Here are two positions an intellectually honest person can hold simultaneously:

    First, Russian President Vladimir Putin is an authoritarian who, though no Josef Stalin, subverts human rights and is generally antagonistic to the idealistic aims of the United States. When Republicans cozy up to this sort of person, as President-elect Donald Trump has done, they undermine the stated beliefs and values of conservatism.

    Second, though there’s little doubt he wishes he could, Putin did not hack the American election. In fact, there’s no evidence whatsoever that the Russians had anything to do with Trump’s victory.

    Now, I understand why so many on the left want to force Republicans to choose between these two statements. They’d like to delegitimize the democratic validity of Trump’s presidency (in much the same way they did with President George W. Bush) and smear those who don’t join them in this endeavor as unpatriotic Putin-defending lackeys. Considering their own past and Trump’s accommodating attitude toward the Russians (and the Cubans, the Iranians, Fatah, Hamas and other illiberal regimes), this seems an uphill battle.

    Many in the media, though — which has spent considerable time lamenting its deteriorating influence and the rise of fake news — also decided to start the new year by internalizing a partisan-driven fantasy about the Russians electing Trump with incessant coverage, deceptive headlines and misleading stories.

This will let homeland security take over the cyber-security of the voting machines. They tried this before and were shut down by the States, this time they are doing this after their low to no evidence report on the Russians Hacking the election and they now have PET in a tight spot. If he does what the Constitution says and returns the security responsibility to the states he is going to be accused of setting things up for the Russians to hack another election.
