A Palestinian member of the Israeli parliament has been placed under house arrest for 10 days after he was accused of smuggling cellphones and SIM cards to Palestinian prisoners.
An Israeli court in Rishon LeZion, a city near Tel Aviv, issued the decision on Tuesday.
Basel Ghattas, of the Joint List, a predominantly Palestinian electoral coalition in the Israeli Knesset, was arrested last week after he surrendered parliamentary immunity for search and arrest, and remained in police custody for six days undergoing interrogation.

(CNSNews.com) – Republican lawmakers unsurprisingly slammed a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israel and the Obama administration’s decision to allow it to pass, but almost one-third of the Democratic caucus in the U.S. Senate – 15 of the 46 senators – have also come out publicly since Friday against the move.
“Extremely frustrating, disappointing & confounding that the Administration has failed to veto the U.N. resolution,” tweeted incoming Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), setting the tone.
Schumer described the U.N. as a “fervently anti-Israel body.”
“Knowing this, past Administrations – both Democrat and Republican – have protected Israel from the vagaries of this biased institution,” he said. “Unfortunately, this Administration has not followed in that path and its actions will move us further from peace in the Middle East.”
At least 14 of Schumer’s Democratic colleagues reacted to the move with statements or social media posts slamming passage of the resolution, with some expressing dismay that the administration did not veto the measure.

“Christmas market attack suspect Anis Amri visited 15 mosques in Germany and had contact with two men with ties to IS, according to a media report. Security authorities also reportedly labeled him a threat back in May.
Tunisian-born Anis Amri traveled to 15 different mosques – 12 of which were located in the western Ruhr region, according to a report from German public broadcaster WDR’s “Aktuelle Stunde” television program.
Amri used one of eight aliases to apply for asylum in the western German city of Oberhausen, the report said citing a multi-page profile on the Berlin attack suspect put together by security authorities.
Starting in February 2016, Amri was located mostly in Berlin although he should not have been allowed to leave the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, where he registered for asylum.
The state criminal investigation office in Düsseldorf classified him as a threat on May 10.
The profile stated that Amri behaved in an especially conspiratorial manner when he was in Berlin and had frequent contact with people who security services said had ties to the radical Salafist-Islamist scene. Two of the men Amri came in contact with were under suspicion of planning a terrorist attack.
Back in North Rhine-Westphalia, Amri also had two contacts in Dortmund who had ties to the militant “Islamic State” group, the report said.
On October 13, 2016, surveillance information gathered state-level security authorities was supposed to be passed on to Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), WDR’s “Aktuelle Stunde” reported. Domestic intelligence work in Germany is generally conducted by authorities in the country’s 16 states.
Revelations that Amri had been on a federal list of persons regarded as potential threats and had been monitored by authorities for months has prompted sharp criticism security failures in Germany.
Amri is suspected of driving a truck into a crowded Berlin Christmas market last Monday, killing 12 people and wounding 48 others.

Even when the National Governments are providing cover for the terrorists the police uniform is a target for the terrorists. The police are the most visible reminder of the government and its authority, by attacking the police they are showing the population that the government isn’t capable of protecting them. Since protection of the population is the first job of the government (at least under the US Constitution) this forces people into distrusting and eventually hating the government. This is aggravated by the way the European nations and the US to a lesser extend have gone out of their way to remove the right of self defense from the population. The right of self defense is a natural right, it existed before the governments were formed and still exists even though the governments are trying to remove it. The governments that have removed this right and the ones that are removing it are the ones most at risk from civil wars. The nations that still have the full fledged right of self defense are the ones that will have civilians aid the police and fight for the government in a civil war.

An Egyptian paper published what it claims are the transcripts of meetings between top US and Palestinian officials that, if true, would corroborate Israeli accusations that the Obama administration was behind last week’s UN Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements.
At the same time, a report in an Israeli daily Tuesday night pointed to Britain helping draft the resolution and high drama in the hours leading up to the vote, as Jerusalem tried to convince New Zealand to bury the Security Council measure.
In a meeting in early December with top Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, US Secretary of State John Kerry told the Palestinians that the US was prepared to cooperate with the Palestinians at the Security council, Israel’s Channel 1 TV said, quoting the Egyptian Al-Youm Al-Sabea newspaper.
Also present at the meeting were US National Security Adviser Susan Rice, and Majed Faraj, director of the Palestinian Authority’s General Intelligence Service.
Kerry is quoted as saying that he could present his ideas for a final status solution if the Palestinians pledge they will support the proposed framework. The US officials advised the Palestinians to travel to Riyadh to present the plan to Saudi leaders.
Israel fears that Kerry, who is slated to give a speech Wednesday on the subject, will then lay out his comprehensive vision for two-state solution at a Paris peace conference planned for January. Israel has refused to attend. Israel further fears that this Kerry framework could be enshrined in another UN Security Council resolution.
The Egyptian report fits with Israeli claims that it had received “ironclad” information from Arab sources that Washington actively helped craft last week’s UN resolution declaring Israeli settlements illegal.
“We have ironclad information that emanates from sources in the Arab world and that shows the Obama administration helped craft this resolution and pushed hard for its eventual passage,” said David Keyes, spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Egyptian report did not detail whose transcripts of the meeting it had obtained or how it had obtained them.
Responding to a question about the Al-Youm Al-Sabea report, State Department Spokesman Mark Toner denied that the US discussed the language of the resolution with Erekat or in a meeting with officials from New Zealand.
The Obama administration has denied it was behind the resolution, saying that it only decided not to veto it after reading the final text.
Meanwhile, a report in the daily Haaretz Tuesday cited Western and Israeli officials detailing how Britain, and not the US, worked with the Palestinians to craft the text of the resolution, toning it down to make it palatable enough for Washington to avoid a veto.
“The Israeli diplomats say that from information that reached the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, British legal figures and diplomats had been working directly with the Palestinians on the wording of the resolution even before it was distributed by Egypt,” Haaretz said.
According to Haaretz, in the hours before the resolution went forward, Netanyahu phoned New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully, and warned him that going ahead with the resolution “will be a declaration of war.”
“It will rupture the relations and there will be consequences. We’ll recall our ambassador to Jerusalem,” Netanyahu is reported to have said.
Since the resolution passed, Netanyahu has taken a series of measures against the states that supported the resolutions, minimizing ties with some and calling in their envoys for rebuke.
According to the Egyptian report, the US diplomats expressed their mistrust of Netanyahu, saying he wanted to destroy the two-state solution and was only interested in maintaining the status quo between Israel and the Palestinians.
The transcript showed Kerry and Rice advising the Palestinians not to make any provocative moves when US President-elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20, calling him dangerous.
They warned against such steps as ending security cooperation with Israel, pursuing legal action against Israeli officials in the ICC, or dissolving the Palestinian Authority.
They also said Trump’s administration was likely to adopt a policy on the Israel-Palestinian conflict that would be totally different to that of previous administrations going back to 1967.
When asked how the Palestinians would react if Trump carried out his promise to move the US embassy to Jerusalem, Erekat reportedly said the Palestine Liberation Organization would rescind its recognition of Israel and ask Arab states to expel their US envoys.
Erekat made precisely that threat in a December 19 conference call organized by the Wilson Center policy forum. He said he would immediately resign as the chief Palestinian negotiator, and that “the PLO will revoke its recognition of Israel” as well as all previously signed agreements with Israel. Furthermore, said Erekat, all American embassies in the Arab world would be forced to close — not necessarily because Arab leaderships would want to close them, but because the infuriated public in the Arab world would not “allow” for the embassies to continue to operate.

Obama and Kerry are trying to do as much damage to Western Civilization as they can while Obama is still in office. Circle January 15th: 70 Nations Will Gather In Paris To Discuss The Creation Of A Palestinian State
On January 15th, representatives from 70 different countries will gather in Paris, France for an unprecedented global conference. The stated goal of this conference is to promote a “two-state solution” as the way that lasting peace will be brought to the Middle East. In Israel, there is a tremendous amount of concern that whatever is agreed upon at this conference will immediately be used as the basis for a UN Security Council resolution that would permanently divide the land of Israel and create a Palestinian state. But things would have to move very rapidly in order for that to happen, because Barack Obama’s time in the White House comes to an end on January 20th, and Donald Trump has already made it exceedingly clear that he would never support such a resolution.
The UN Security Council resolution that was passed on Friday was one of the most significant events that we have witnessed in decades. Resolution 2334 made all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem illegal, it set the 1967 ceasefire lines as the border between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and it granted every single inch of East Jerusalem to the Palestinians. But it stopped short of giving official UN Security Council recognition to a Palestinian state, and that is why this conference on January 15th is so important.

Toner said the secretary holds the conviction that “it is his duty in his remaining weeks and days as secretary of state to lay out what he believes is a way towards a two-state solution” and that “it’s always important to keep the process moving forward.”

Many of us have been watching for the creation of a Palestinian state for a very long time, and now we may be right on the verge of it happening.
When Donald Trump takes office he would not be able to reverse the creation of a Palestinian state, but one thing that he could do would be to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.

“A record 55,000 migrants left Germany voluntarily this year – more than twice the number deported.
Germany’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) daily got the January-November data from the Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). Most of the migrants went back to the Western Balkans.
Albanians formed the largest group – 15,000. The numbers from Serbia, Iraq and Kosovo totalled about 5,000 each.
Last year 890,000 asylum seekers reached Germany – a record influx.
In 2016, Germany deported 25,000 migrants. Those arriving from the Western Balkans generally have no right to stay in Germany.
The BAMF says increasing numbers of asylum seekers are also returning voluntarily to Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan.
Those who went back to Afghanistan voluntarily this year totalled more than 3,200 – about ten times more than went back there in 2015. Earlier this month, 34 Afghans were deported after their asylum claims were rejected.
The German government has pledged to step up the rate of migrant returns, amid widespread criticism of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s liberal immigration policy.
But international law prohibits “push-backs” to areas where migrants are at risk from war or persecution. And each asylum claim has to be assessed individually – there can be no discrimination against particular groups.
The EU does not yet have an agreed list of “safe” countries of origin – member states make their own decisions about individuals.
Migrants who leave voluntarily, unlike deportees, are not detained by police during the night, and can plan for their future in good time.
While deportees receive a multi-year re-entry ban, those who leave voluntarily get some financial assistance. The amount is higher the earlier they decide to leave.
SZ reports that the “start-up” cash for a family of five, if they decide to leave before their asylum claim is rejected, can be €4,200 (£3,580; $4,383). That is in addition to the basic financial support that most migrants get from the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
This year Germany refused entry to 20,000 migrants at its external borders.
In early 2017 Germany plans to launch a new development programme targeting migrants, to help them reintegrate in their home countries.
The first countries of origin to be targeted will be Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria, Kosovo, Serbia and Albania, SZ reports. Germany has allocated €150m – spread over three years – for reintegration projects, to help voluntary returnees.
The largest groups seeking asylum in Germany in January-October 2016 were: Syrians (38%), Afghans (18%) and Iraqis (13.5%).”

MOSCOW/ANKARA (Reuters) – Syria would be divided into informal zones of regional power influence and Bashar al-Assad would remain president for at least a few years under an outline deal between Russia, Turkey and Iran, sources say.
Such a deal, which would allow regional autonomy within a federal structure controlled by Assad’s Alawite sect, is in its infancy, subject to change and would need the buy-in of Assad and the rebels and, eventually, the Gulf states and the United States, sources familiar with Russia’s thinking say.
“There has been a move toward a compromise,” said Andrey Kortunov, director general of the Russian International Affairs Council, a think tank close to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“A final deal will be hard, but stances have shifted.”
Assad’s powers would be cut under a deal between the three nations, say several sources. Russia and Turkey would allow him to stay until the next presidential election when he would quit in favor of a less polarizing Alawite candidate.

Attention is beginning to focus on elections due to take place in three separate European countries in 2017. The outcomes in the Netherlands, France and Germany will determine the likely future of the European Union (EU).
In the Netherlands, on March 15, all 150 members of the country’s House of Representatives will face the ballot box. The nation is currently led by Prime Minister Mark Rutte, whose VVD party holds 40 seats in the legislative chamber, ruling in a coalition with the Dutch Labour party, which holds 35 seats.
In contrast, the Party for Freedom – Partij Voor de Vrijheid (PVV) – led by Geert Wilders, currently holds 12 seats.
According to an opinion poll, issued on December 21, Wilders’s party has leapt to 24% in the polls, while Rutte’s party has slid to 15%. Were an election to happen now, this would translate to 23 MPs for Rutte’s VVD, and 36 MPs for Wilders’s PVV.
Given the strict formula of proportional representation in the Netherlands, however, coalition governments are the norm. Should Wilders’s PVV come first in March, he will likely need to negotiate with one of his staunchest critics to form a government.
In France, two rounds of voting in the presidential elections are set to take place on April 23 and May 7 – with the two leading candidates from the first round facing each other in a runoff in the second round.
The most likely candidates to make it through to the second round, François Fillon, of the centre-right Les Républicains, and Marine Le Pen, of the populist Front National, remain tied in first-round polling.

In Sweden, there are a number of Muslim organizations that together constitute what is known as “Muslim civil society” (Muslimska civilsamhället). What is important, when discussing Muslim civil society in Sweden, is their political influence, their ideology and their structure.
IFIS
One of the most important organizations in Sweden’s Muslim civil society is the Islamic Association of Sweden (Islamiska Förbundet i Sverige — IFIS), established in 1981. Some of the goals of IFIS, which you can read about on their website, are to “influence and form opinions on issues that concern the Muslim group and its interests in Sweden” and “increase participation, influence and representation of Muslims in public institutions and bodies”. In other words, IFIS works as a lobby organization for Muslims in Sweden.
It is a lobby organization that has been successful.
Former IFIS chairman Abdirizak Waberi represented the second largest party, the Moderate Party, in parliament between 2010 and 2014, when this party was in government. When Waberi sat in parliament, he was a member of the defense committee, which decides the policies for the Swedish Armed Forces.
Waberi’s time in parliament was a remarkable experience for many Swedes. In several interviews before 2010, Waberi said he believed in a literal interpretation of the Koran. In an interview from 2006, he supported the idea that men could have four wives. In another interview from 2009, he said that he does not shake the hand of a woman; that men and women should not dance with each other, and that he would rather live in a country with Islamic sharia law. After these interviews, clearly revealing that Waberi is an Islamist, and that he got to represent Sweden’s second-largest party in parliament, apparently without Swedish media or anyone else providing scrutiny over his past statements.

Kerry criticized Hamas for seeking Israel’s destruction and diverting aid to help the residents of Gaza to its war machine.
He then began to criticize the Jewish communities over the 1949 armistice lines, saying that they make it “that much harder to separate.”
“Settlement expansion has nothing to do with Israeli security.” he said.

Prominent Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab has been released from prison on bail, following a seven-month pre-trial detainment over a series of tweets, but was ordered back into custody over separate investigations.
Rajab’s lawyer, Jalila Sayed, confirmed the activist would stay in prison, AP reported.
“Nabeel is overall weak because of so many health problems he started facing, including heart problems and other physical issues,” she said. “He’s under tremendous stress because of this length of detention.”

The Saga of Hillary’s Emails Continues

It’s not over until the pantsuit sings.
In a new legal development on the controversy over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails, an appeals court on Tuesday reversed a lower court ruling and said two U.S. government agencies should have done more to recover the emails.
The ruling from Judge Stephen Williams, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, revives one of a number of legal challenges involving Clinton’s handling of government emails when she was secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.
While the State Department and National Archives took steps to recover the emails from Clinton’s tenure, they did not ask the U.S. attorney general to take enforcement action. Two conservative groups filed lawsuits to force their hand.
A district judge in January ruled the suits brought by Judicial Watch and Cause of Action moot, saying State and the National Archives made a “sustained effort” to recover and preserve Clinton’s records.
But Williams said the two agencies should have done more, according to the ruling in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Since the agencies neither asked the attorney general for help nor showed such enforcement action could not uncover new emails, the case was not moot.
Obviously the case.
The government’s people repeatedly obstructed investigations and the investigations of their obstructionism will likely drag on long after Obama is out of office as one of the dirty polluted remnants of his tainted legacy. The IRS, the emails and Benghazi, along with so much else represent a prolonged battle between activist investigators and radical government figures embedded in the system.
The difference is that Hillary is increasingly disposable. It’s now a matter of whom else she may take down with her.

CAIR and Islamic Relief hide their violent extremism behind a good cause.

The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has organized the Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) annual ‘Day of Dignity,’ an event advertised as assisting those in poverty, since October 2013. More than helping those in need, though, doing events such as these help to hide the fact that these two groups, CAIR and Islamic Relief (IR), are associated with international terror and, in at least one case, crude racism. It is a sinister exploit of phony altruism and community service to further the cause of radical Islam.
On November 1 and November 12, 2016, CAIR and Islamic Relief took their extremist show respectively to Franklin Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Ezell Hester Community Center in Boynton Beach, Florida. Representing Islamic Relief from CAIR-Florida were CAIR-Florida Regional Operations Director Nezar Hamze and former CAIR-Florida Community and Government Relations Director Ghazala Salam. The two have been involved in the event together since 2013.
CAIR was created in June 1994 as part of an umbrella group led by then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. CAIR has been named by the US government a co-conspirator for two federal trials dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. CAIR had used its national website to raise money for the defendant of the trial, the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), as well as an al-Qaeda charity, the Global Relief Foundation (GRF). Many CAIR representatives have served prison time and/or have been deported from the US for terrorist-related activity.

Boko Haram Jihadists Teach Boy Soldiers How to Rape Women
Islamist militants from the Boko Haram terror group are instructing their teenage recruits how to sexually assault women as part of their training, both as a means of terror and an incentive for the young militants.
As part of their formation program, the Nigeria-based Jihadi leaders rape women and young girls captured during raids in front of the boys as a visual lesson in how to subdue a struggling victim during sexual assault, according to reports.
One 15-year-old boy known only as Ahmed said that the girls “scream and cry for help,” but the militants don’t care. “Sometimes they’ll be slapped and threatened with guns if they didn’t cooperate,” he said.

The Pasadena Police Department will lock down 56 streets near the Rose Parade this year with water barricades, police cruisers and armed officers in an attempt to prevent a truck attack similar to deadly incidents in Berlin, Germany and Nice, France.
Though no known threats exist, Police Chief Phillip Sanchez said the Rose Parade’s heightened and constantly evolving security is now the norm for the annual New Year’s celebration, which attracts hundreds of thousands from around the world.
The parade, which is normally on New Year’s Day, is on Monday, Jan. 2 this year due to the Tournament of Roses’ “never on a Sunday” rule.
“This will be very obvious to you when you arrive at the parade route,” Sanchez said Wednesday at a press conference detailing local and federal authorities efforts to secure the event.
The road closures begin at 5 p.m., Jan. 1, according to city officials.
Sanchez said the decision to use barricades is in response to previous incidents throughout the world.

“AN ISLAMIC centre has been torched to the ground by a suspected arsonist as emergency services desperately try to save anyone who may have been trapped inside.
Fire crews and police are desperately trying to extinguish the blaze, which has engulfed the entire building.
Police reported that the fire appears to have been started deliberately by an arsonist and it has spread across two buildings, both of which are known to contain asbestos.
The site, formerly a public swimming baths, was bought earlier this year by the Association of Islamic Communities in Culemborg, which had submitted plans to turn the building into a mosque.
There is an existing prayer room at the rear of the building and it is not clear whether anyone was using that at the time of the suspected attack.
It is not clear if anyone has been injured in the blaze or if any arrests have been made.
