“LAHORE: The assured the provincial assembly’s opposition and treasury on Wednesday that no Ahmadi teacher would be appointed to teach the subjects of Islamic Studies or Arabic Language.
The assurance was given by Parliamentary Secretary for School Education Joice Rufan Julius after PTI parliamentary leader Mehmoodur Rasheed got up from the proceedings and left the house in protest.
Up till that point, proceedings were running smoothly on Wednesday after they were unable to continue for three days due to the lack of a quorum. Julius was answering questions concerning the education department. That was when Jamaat-e-Islami parliamentary leader Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar stood up and pointed out that there was no legal provision to stop Ahmadis from being appointed as teachers for Arabic or Islamic Studies.
At this point, Julius said there was a 5% job quota specified for religious minorities and 3% for people with disabilities. She added minority candidates can apply on open merit.
The parliamentary secretary stated seasoned individuals were teaching the Holy Quran to students. “Even Christians are also studying Islamic studies,” she said. Julius highlighted that her own daughter, being a Christian, secured 70 out of 75 marks in Islamic Studies.
Not satisfied with her answer, Dr Waseem said he understood that Quranic and Hadith education was necessary at schools, but questioned the lack of legislation to stop Ahmadis from teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies. He also expressed his intentions of boycotting house proceedings and urged others to follow him.
PTI leader Mehmoodur Rasheed stood up and said the government must give assurances that no Ahmadi would teach Islamiat or Arabic. Julius assured that only Muslims taught Arabic and Islamiat.
Rasheed pointed out that no clear answer was being given to the house. Meanwhile, speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal announced an end to the question-answer hour.
Arif Abbasi, another opposition member, told the speaker that this important matter could not be “bulldozed”. He announced a boycott of proceedings and left the hall.
Iqbal sent ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Shekh Alaudin to convince the protesting members to come back to the house.
PML-N MPA Ilyas Chinioti suggested that the matter be referred to the parliamentary committee for legislation to stop the induction of Ahmadis as Islamiat and Arabic teachers.
Julius again assured the treasury and opposition that the education department would issue a notification to ensure that no Ahmadi would be hired to teach these subjects…”

Sponsored by the Slovak National Party (SNS), which is a member in Prime Minister Robert Fico’s coalition, the legislation was passed Wednesday, Reuters reported. The law was approved by a two-thirds majority in parliament, comprising both ruling and opposition parties.
The new law more than doubles the required number of a religion’s followers for it to qualify for state subsidies and run its own schools. At least 50,000 members, against the previous 20,000, has now been set as a threshold for gaining official status as a religion.
Currently, 62 percent of Slovakia’s 5.4 million population are declared Roman Catholics.
Slovakia’s far-right People’s Party-Our Slovakia wanted to raise the bar to 250,000, but their proposal was turned down by a majority of lawmakers.
“Islamization starts with a kebab and it’s already under way in Bratislava, let’s realize what we can face in five to 10 years,” chairman of the Slovak National Party (SNS) Andrej Danko said, as cited by Reuters. “We must do everything we can so that no mosque is built in the future,” the politician was quoted as adding.
According to the last census, Islam has some 2,000 followers in Slovakia, Reuters reported, adding that there are no recognized mosques in the central European country. The Islamic Foundation in Slovakia, which has not commented on the new legislation so far, puts the number at around 5,000.”

“EUROPEAN officials have blasted Dutch anti-terror measures for “discriminating” against Moroccan and Turkish jihadis.
Holland want to introduce into law rules that would make it possible to revoke the Dutch citizenship of jihadis who hold a dual passport.
The Council of Europe have come out strongly against the proposed plans from being implemented saying it would discriminate against certain social groups.
Latvian council commissioner Nils Muiznieks said that he fears the “discrimination, stigmatisation and the alienation of some social groups” if plans were given the go-ahead.
One of the laws criticised by the council makes it possible for the Dutch Internal and Justice ministries to take away the freedom of movement of a terror suspect without the intervention of a judge.
Muiznieks also spoke of his fear about another aspect of the law which would see a “contact and territory ban” implemented that prevents potential terrorists from entering certain areas or contacting certain individuals. Officials could also implement a travel ban if they deemed it necessary.
The Dutch also want to give intelligence and security services extra powers to spy on people.
According to Mr Muiznieks, prevention is the key towards combating terrorism.
He warned that certain measures being considered are possibly in conflict with human rights treaties.
The Council of Europe is distinct from the EU, although it is sometimes confused with it.
No country has ever joined the EU without first belonging to the Council of Europe.
The Council of Europe cannot make binding laws but it has the power to enforce international agreements – which is why it has some leverage over the Dutch.

Judge Audrey Balla said the ruling, the first of its kind in the country, was necessary because the veil prevented him from reading Moutia Elzahed’s expression.
Ms Elzahed refused a number of alternatives, including the court being closed to the public, as she gave evidence or the opportunity to give evidence in a smaller, more private room.
Her counsel Clive Evatt explained: “I’m instructed that she’s of the Muslim religion and it’s against her religion to reveal her face to men, although not to women.
“Therefore, I’m instructed she will not remove her veil, if that’s the correct expression, or whatever it is.”
Mr Balla refused to let Ms Eslzahed give evidence while wearing her niqab, claiming it would impair his judgement.

The German edition of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo made its debut in Berlin, Thursday, with an unflattering image of German Chancellor Angela Merkel taking the front cover.
In the magazine’s characteristically coarse style, Merkel is depicted on a toilet seat and a car mechanic’s hydraulic lift. The latter images allude to Merkel’s alleged relationship with Volkswagen, as the car company’s emissions scandal develops. Destructive Hacks Strike Saudi Arabia, Posing Challenge to Trump
State-sponsored hackers have conducted a series of destructive attacks on Saudi Arabia over the last two weeks, erasing data and wreaking havoc in the computer banks of the agency running the country’s airports and hitting five additional targets, according to two people familiar with an investigation into the breach.
Saudi Arabia said after inquiries from Bloomberg News that “several” government agencies were targeted in attacks that came from outside the kingdom, according to state media. No further details were provided.
Although a probe by Saudi authorities is still in its early stages, the people said digital evidence suggests the attacks emanated from Iran. That could present President-elect Donald Trump with a major national security challenge as he steps into the Oval Office.
The use of offensive cyber weapons by a nation is relatively rare and the scale of the latest attacks could trigger a tit-for-tat cyber war in a region where capabilities have mushroomed ever since an attack on Saudi Aramco in 2012.
Unlike the Aramco attack or the one by North Korea against Sony Pictures in 2014, the latest was perpetrated by detonating a cyber weapon inside the networks of several targets at once, the people said. Concerns over a broader campaign set off a search in computer networks throughout the Gulf for more traces of the digital bomb.

1,600 Kurdish peshmerga killed in war on IS: spokesman
A total of 1,600 Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga fighters have been killed since the Islamic State group took over large parts of the country in June 2014, peshmerga officials said Thursday.
Peshmerga ministry spokesman Halgord Hekmat initially told AFP the figure applied to the offensive launched on October 17 to retake the jihadist stronghold of Mosul but later corrected himself.
Peshmerga ministry secretary-general Jabar Yawar confirmed the overall casualty figures since the start of the war with IS two and half years ago.
“Since the beginning of the war against Daesh, which means June 2014, until November 30 (2016), the total number of martyrs is 1,614 and the wounded are 9,515,” he told AFP, using the Arabic acronym for IS.

Braced for WAR: Putin sends warships to Crimea as Ukraine begins missile tests
VLADIMIR Putin’s warships have been dispatched to Crimea’s western coastline in response to the start of Ukrainian missile tests nearby, as tensions in the region reach fever pitch.
Vessels from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet have taken up position near the disputed Crimean peninsula – which was illegally annexed from Ukraine in 2014 – to help strengthen the air defences.
The aggressive land grab plunged Ukraine-Russia and east-west relations to their lowest point in years and threatened a new Cold War.
Kiev began two days of missile tests today, angering Russia, which has put its air defence forces on high alert.

Syrian rebels are in secret talks with Russia to end the fighting in Aleppo, according to opposition figures, a development that shows how the US could become sidelined in some of the Middle East’s most pivotal conflicts.
Four opposition members from rebel-held northern Syria told the Financial Times that Turkey has been brokering talks in Ankara with Moscow, whose military intervention on the side of President Bashar al-Assad has helped turn the five-year civil war in the regime’s favour. Russia is now backing regime efforts to recapture the rebel’s last urban stronghold in Syria’s second city of Aleppo.
“The Russians and Turks are talking without the US now. It [Washington] is completely shut out of these talks, and doesn’t even know what’s going on in Ankara,” said one opposition figure, who asked not to be identified.

Turkey’s military operation in Syria is not against any country or person but terror groups in general, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said, in contrast to earlier remarks that Turkey’s objective was to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad following.

wikileaks -German BND-NSA Inquiry Exhibits
Today, 1 December 2016, WikiLeaks releases 90 gigabytes of information relating to the German parliamentary inquiry into the surveillance activities of Germany’s foreign intelligence agency Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) and its cooperation with the United States’ National Security Agency (NSA).
The 2,420 documents originate from various agencies of the German government including the BND and Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) and were submitted to the inquiry last year in response to questions posed by the committee. They include administrative documents, correspondence, agreements and press reactions. They also include 125 documents from the BND, 33 from the BfVand 72 from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
The collection offers a detailed insight, not just into the agencies themselves, but also into the mechanics of the inquiry. Several documents detail how the agency in question collated the information that was requested of them. For example, a BND document shows its preparations for collecting internal information on which private US companies are operating in the security sector in Germany. Such internal processes are particularly pertinent to the inquiry. The committee has been trying (unsuccessfully so far) to gain access to the full selector list that the BND holds regarding who they spy on at the behest of the US. The BND is withholding this list from the inquiry on the grounds that releasing it could imperil the BND’s relationship with the NSA.
Whilst a number of facts have already come to light as a result of the inquiry including WikiLeaks’ publication of inquiry transcripts last year this substantial new collection of primary source documents provides significant new evidence. The collection contains early agreements between the BND and the NSA and internal processes at the BND, but also more recent details on the close collaboration between the two agencies. For example, one document from the BND states that a BND employee will be tasked to use and write software for XKeyscore, an NSA system for searching and analysing data collected through mass surveillance.
A number of the documents show how intelligence agencies find ways to work around their own government. Documents pertaining to an audit visit by Germany’s data protection agency to the BND’s offices show that BND officers withheld the notes made by the auditors during their visit. The BND would only release the notes to the auditors once they had checked the content for themselves.
The inquiry was established in 2014 in the wake of the Snowden revelations, which showed that not only was the NSA spying on the whole world, but it had also partnered with the intelligence services of particular states to spy on their citizens and those of the surrounding regions. One of these countries is Germany, which has had a close relationship with the US in military and intelligence matters since its occupation by US forces in WWII. The US has been shown to use its bases in Germany and its relationship with German intelligence to spy on German citizens as well as European Union institutions.
WikiLeaks revelations of NSA spying on Angela Merkel and top officials at German ministries, the EU and France also contributed to the political impetus of the inquiry.
The depth of this relationship had been unknown to the German public and much of its government. The outrage that was sparked by the Snowden NSA revelations led to the establishment of the inquiry, which later called for Mr Snowden to testify at it. Whereas there was initially unanimity among German political parties in 2014 for Snowden to provide expert testimony, the government deemed that guaranteeing that he would not be handed over to the US (a condition imposed by Snowden for testifying) would damage Germany’s political relationship with the United States. Subsequently, the Greens and the left-wing party (Die Linke) filed an official complaint to force the German Parliament to hear Mr Snowden.
Last week, on 21 November 2016, Germany’s Federal Court of Justice upheld the complaint and ruled that the committee was obliged to hear Edward Snowden in person. However, at the next inquiry hearing three days after the ruling, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Union bloc and the Social Democrats removed Snowden’s invitation from the agenda of the inquiry and are contesting the Court’s decision.

We’ll know in a few days if Iran’s “44th fleet,” consisting of the frigate Alvand and the supply ship Bushehr, has been crossing the Atlantic, as suggested by reporting from last week.
Iran’s announcements about going into the Atlantic Ocean have been imprecise and impressionistic. So perhaps it can be argued that Iranian officials never said their navy was going to cross the Atlantic, but only said the Iranian ships were going to be in it. Iranian news headlines spoke of crossing the Atlantic, but hey, what can you do about the media.
If the Iranian ships have been crossing the Atlantic, they’ll have to show up in Venezuela, Nicaragua, or Cuba in the next week.

“Ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays, France has upgraded its national security alert system – known as Plan Vigipirate – to introduce a new highest level of warning.
A Defense Council meeting at the Elysée on Wednesday saw an “in-depth revision of the Vigipirate plan,” Le Figaro reported.
“It is essential to adapt constantly to a constantly evolving terrorist threat and to be very responsive,” Louis Gautier, secretary general of defense and national security, was quoted as saying.
The alert system, first introduced in 1978, originally featured two levels: ‘Vigilance’ and ‘Reinforced Security/Risk of Attack’. France is currently under the latter of these.
The new system will now feature a third level, ‘Attack Emergency’, expected to be used for imminent assaults or immediately after them. The new level will involve “exceptional measures” such as the closing of roads, Metro lines and schools, the newspaper reported, adding that some of the additional measures are confidential.
All possible scenarios have been taken into account, including maritime piracy, attacks on large airports, chemical pollution, cyberattacks and drone threats, Le Figaro reported.
The new reinforced plan serves as a “genuine tutorial for public security actors,” as well as large operators, including those in the fields of health, transport and energy…”

In anticipation of a Trump loss, Hillary Clinton and her cohorts professed that anything other than graceful acceptance of the loss would “threaten democracy.” But now that Trump has won, the left has hypocritically become unhinged. After violent protests, petitions to eradicate the electoral college, and coddling college age students to miss class, delay exams and obtain psychotherapy to deal with the “trauma” of the election results, liberal political elites are in fear that the left will at last, calm down and accept the results. They cannot accept such complacency.
Democrats got defeated in a sweep across the nation, with Republicans winning over two thirds of the governorships and making a record number of wins in state legislatures, 32 of which will have Republican control in both of their legislative chambers. But this isn’t enough to convince far leftists like Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein, that those who are upset by the results should just get a grip and learn to accept them. After all, every election, there is a winner and a loser. That’s our system. Instead, Stein is demanding recounts in several key blue states that have swung in favor of Trump this year. In order for the results to yield a different outcome, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan would all have to be overturned. That is not going to happen. Despite Stein’s efforts, the result is a foregone conclusion: Trump will still be President.

Other widespread examples of lunacy, verbal incontinence, hallucinations, and projections include intrusive and repetitive thoughts about race, racism, and racists.
Aiming to regroup and clean up the mess without losing any of their personal power, confused Democratic elites are offering more erratic solutions, from embracing white working class nationalism to excluding white people from running the party.

A German court has ruled that seven Islamists who formed a vigilante patrol to enforce Sharia law on the streets of Wuppertal did not break German law and were simply exercising their right to free speech.
The ruling, which effectively legitimizes Sharia law in Germany, is one of a growing number of instances in which German courts are — wittingly or unwittingly — promoting the establishment of a parallel Islamic legal system in the country.
The self-appointed “Sharia Police” sparked public outrage in September 2014, when they distributed yellow leaflets which established a “Sharia-controlled zone” in the Elberfeld district of Wuppertal. The men urged both Muslim and non-Muslim passersby to attend mosques and to refrain from alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, music, pornography and prostitution.

I am, so far we haven’t had problems like that in the Columbia VA. The nice thing about this VA is that it is across the street from the University of Missouri Hospital, if there is a problem that the VA Doctors can’t handle we are put on a Gurney taken through a tunnel under the street to the University Hospital and the real big experts are called in. So far that hasn’t happened to me.
The VA ships patients from all states to Columbia to take advantage of that relationship.
How weird is it that such massive harm is done by this particular institution, and all they say is, “Oops, real sorry, how sad.”
It’s socialized medicine, no accountabilty. It’s a scandal, treating our vets on the shoddy cheap. I know you like your facility, but I’ve seen higher practice standards in 3rd world hellholes than in too many VA facilities.
Only has to happen ONCE.

French companies try to cope with Islamism in its two modes: the soft one — veils spreading throughout every office, an increase in lawsuits against employers on religious grounds; and the hard one — terrorism and threats of Islamic terrorism.
According to the French satirical weekly, Le Canard Enchaîné, in October, 40 Air France plane fuel hatches were covered in graffiti stating: “Allahu Akbar” (“Allah is Greatest”). Citing anti-terror police, the magazine reported that airplane functions had been deliberately tampered with and that the pilots’ communications and engine control from the cockpit kept failing.
This repeated sabotage of several planes was spotted thanks to standardized safety checks. A quick police investigation identified an employee of Air France to be the responsible party. The problem: this French convert to Islam, knowing he was under suspicion, already left the country. He is now said to “be a refugee in Yemen, while his wife continues to lead an Islamic school near Orly [another airport close to Paris].” Added to this, Air France computer systems were hacked: Last Christmas, security announcements on a Paris-Amsterdam flight were programmed to be automatically delivered in Arabic. A computer bug, Air France said.

Saudi Arabia’s government agencies were hit with a cyberattack that security researchers are blaming on a worm-like malware that can wipe computer systems, destroying data.
Several government bodies and vital installations suffered the attack, disrupting their servers, the country’s Saudi Press Agency said on Thursday. The transportation sector was among the agencies hit by an actor from outside the country, the press agency said.
Security firms say the attack involved malware called Shamoon or Disttrack that was previously found targeting a Saudi Arabian oil company four years ago. That attack disabled 30,000 computers.

In sad news, around 600 veterans who were being treated at a VA facility in Wisconsin, may have been infected with HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C due to mishandling of medical equipment. The facility, located in Tomah, Wisconsin, is now rushing to inform the veterans who may have become infected. What a mess.
On Tuesday, acting medical center director Victoria Brahm held a press conference stating a dentist was using his own equipment, then cleaning it and re-using it. This is in strict violation of VA infection protocol and regulations.
The rules state that practitioners must use sterile and disposable equipment. Yet, Brahm shared that the dentist let this go on for about a year between October 2015 and October 2016.
The only reason anyone was notified was because a dentist’s assistant noticed his misuse and reported it. Since then, the dentist has been removed from “patient care” and is currently working in an “administrative role.” This is from WEAU.com:

Mexicans no longer need a visa to travel to Canada. The new policy, effective Dec. 1, was first announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in June and confirmed during the “Three Amigos” summit.

Police in Lawrence, Massachusetts, said they found a decapitated body along a riverbank at McCabe Court on Thursday afternoon.
They were called to the Merrimack River around 2:45 p.m. and discovered the body. Lawrence Police and Massachusetts State Police are working to identify the body and determine the cause of death.
According to a source, the body was found without a head, and the victim was a young male teen.
Police said they believe this is an isolated incident and the community is safe.
