1, Swiss woman wins headscarf court battle

A Swiss court has ruled against a company that fired a longtime employee after she began wearing the Muslim headscarf, marking one of the first such rulings in Switzerland, media reported Sunday.

A regional court in Bern ruled last month that a 29-year-old Serbian woman was fired without just cause from a dry cleaning business, and ordered the company to dish out back-pay and damages to her, the Le Matin Dimanche weekly reported.

The woman, identified only as Abida, was fired in January 2015 from a job she had held for six years, after she began wearing the Muslim headscarf, it reported.

Iraq’s parliament has passed a law forbidding the import, production or selling of alcoholic beverages in a surprise move that angered many in the country’s Christian community who rely on the business.

The law, passed late on Saturday night, imposes a fine of up to 25m Iraqi dinars (£17,000) for anyone violating the ban. But it’s unclear how strictly the law would be enforced, and it could be struck down by the supreme court.

Islam forbids the consumption of alcohol, but it has always been available in Iraq’s larger cities, mainly from shops run by Christians. Those shops are currently closed because of the Shia holy month of Muharram.

8. U.S. Commander: ISIS Attempting to Establish Caliphate in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — ISIS is trying to establish a caliphate inside Afghanistan, the country’s top U.S. commander said.

“Right now we see them very focused on trying to establish their caliphate, the Khorasan caliphate, inside Afghanistan,” General John Nicholson said in an exclusive interview with NBC News.

The push is “principally a non-Afghan movement,” Nicholson said.

According to Nicholson, the U.S. has seen foreign fighters, particularly Uzbeks from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, joining the Islamic State Khorasan, or IS-K. The U.S. also sees many Pakistani Pashtun from the Pakistani Taliban who joined IS-K moving into Afghanistan to fight, he said.

  1. 2 – Yes we are being distracted from our true enemies, the left in the west and the Moslems. In the long run we will win but to win against the Moslems we have to wake up and kick the left out of power. This isn’t a struggle just in the Anglophone nations but in the entire European world. This is one that several of the strong nations have to win to be able to help the rest regain their freedom.

    I know it is a great temptation to let the European nations that are resisting the idea of fighting back fall but in the long run that will just put us in a worse position and we will end up fighting here without fewer allies.

    After laughing bittery about repeating this statement in any Islamic country, let’s examine how these two symbols of submissions function. Jewish men submit their head to their YWH and Musselmas submit their bodies to hiding from the Muslims. The first is mindful that they are not G_d, the other remembers never to tempt the dogs.

    These are held as the highest and lowest of the natures, the humble and the prideful, but both so outwardly clothed that any imposter can wear them with the knowledge of good or evil.
