German minister calls on refugees to be SENT HOME as it’s ‘impossible’ to integrate them (express, Aug 29, 2016)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/704801/Markus-Soeder-refugees-send-back-impossible-to-integrate-Angela-Merkel
“A TOP German politician has suggested refugees be sent back home, saying it is impossible to integrate people from a different cultural background.
Bavaria’s finance minister, Markus Söder, said the German people “do not want a multicultural society” and recommended they should be sent back over the next three years.
More than one million refugees have arrived in Germany over the past year, sparking backlash among critics of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open-door policy.
Many migrants have been re-settled in the minister’s state in the south of the country.
Mr Söder said integration of those from different cultural backgrounds was “bound to fail”.
He added: “Even with the best intentions in the world, it will not work to integrate successfully that many people with a completely different cultural background.
“Germans do not want a multicultural society.
“Anyone who wants to live here must adjust themselves to our values and not vice-versa.”
The CSU minister added the asylum seekers pose a security threat because of few details about their background.
He also said many parts of war-torn countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan have been recognised as safe.
The 49-year-old added: “The civil war in Syria will also end sometime soon.
“According to legislation, people have to return home when the reason for fleeing is no longer valid.”
This is not the first time Mr Söder has hit out at the German chancellor’s policies.
He blasted Angela Merkel earlier this year for allowing so many refugees to enter Germany, saying: “It is a big mistake to open the borders without any checks.”
And other Bavarian politicians have slammed Merkel – who fewer than half of Germans now support.”
All nations should take that stance, if the immigrants refuse to assimilate into the culture of their new home they should be shipped back.
Pro-EU former ministers finally admit they were WRONG about migrants during EU debate (express, Aug 29, 2016)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/704794/Brexit-europhile-former-ministers-Pat-McFadden-Norman-Lamb-Anna-Soubry-migrants
“A TRIO of Remain-backing former minister have admitted they were wrong about migrants during the European Union referendum.
Former ministers from Labour, the Conservatives and the Lib Dems have accepted that voters’ concerns about immigration came from a desire for “managed migration” and not prejudice.
Tory Anna Soubry, Lib Dem Norman Lamb and Labour’s Pat McFadden made the comments as they launched the pro-EU campaign group Open Britain yesterday.
They said: “For too long we have ducked an open debate over immigration.
“The strength of feeling is clear.
“This was not an expression of prejudice but a desire for managed migration and concern that rapid immigration can put pressure on public services and communities.”
The new pressure group – which takes over from the official Remain campaign group Stronger In – will urge Theresa May not to “pull up the drawbridge” and secure the best trade deals with the Brussels bloc…”
They are trying to sabotage the exit so they can maintain their power.
I don’t trust Theresa May – or any of them – to do what they’re supposed to do without pressure. Young, arrogant leftards were so sure of themselves, inside their screeching echo-chambers, they didn’t even bother to vote. Now they figure they can fiddle the process.
It’s important to get the Article-50-ball rolling. In a measured, business-like way, prepare the agenda and give the public a progress report before the end of the year.
Calais chief wants migrant deal with UK (BBC, Aug 29, 2016)
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-37211267
“The president of the French region that includes Calais has suggested migrants seeking asylum in the UK be allowed to lodge their claim in France.
Xavier Bertrand said 9,000 migrants, many trying to get to the UK, were in a Calais camp known as the Jungle.
Mr Bertrand said he wanted a new deal in which migrants hoping to claim asylum in the UK would be able to do so at a “hotspot” in France.
Those who failed would be deported directly to their country of origin.
Calais has become the focal point of France’s refugee crisis.
The Jungle camp is expanding and almost every night people there try to hide inside vehicles entering the port and the Channel Tunnel to get to Britain.
Passport checks
Mr Bertrand wants changes to the bilateral agreement between France and the UK called the Treaty of Le Touquet.
Under the treaty, British immigration officials check passports in Calais and their French counterparts do this in Dover.
Mr Bertrand does not have the power to change the treaty but two of the candidates thought most likely to win next year’s French presidential election support his idea that it be either reformed or annulled.
It is understood Home Secretary Amber Rudd will go to Paris this week to discuss the treaty…”

“Tensions are brewing in the troubled Western Sahara region, as Moroccan troops and Sahrawi separatist fighters refuse to budge from a sensitive buffer area.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has urged both sides to withdraw from the strip of no man’s land close to the Mauritanian border, amid fears that militarisation of the territory could flare up into war.
Mauritania has reportedly deployed anti-aircraft missiles close to the Moroccan border fearing all-out conflict might break out at any moment.

Iran deploys long-range missiles to Fordo nuclear site
Tehran (AFP) – Tehran has deployed a recently delivered Russian-made long-range missile system to central Iran to protect its Fordo nuclear facility, state television said Sunday.
Protecting nuclear facilities is paramount “in all circumstances” General Farzad Esmaili, the commander of Iran’s air defences, told the IRIB channel.
“Today, Iran’s sky is one of the most secure in the region,” he added.
A video showed an S-300 carrier truck in Fordo, raising its missile launchers toward the sky, next to other counter-strike weaponry.
The images were aired hours after supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei gave a speech to air force commanders, including Esmaili, in which he stressed that Iranian military power was for defensive purposes only.
“Continued opposition and hype on the S-300 or the Fordo site are examples of the viciousness of the enemy,” Khamenei said.
“The S-300 system is a defence system not an assault one, but the Americans did their best for Iran not to get hold of it.”
The Fordo site, built into a mountain near the city of Qom has stopped enriching uranium since the January implementation of a nuclear deal with world powers.
Under the historic accord, Iran dismantled most of its estimated 19,000 centrifuges — giant spinning machines that enrich uranium, keeping only 5,000 active for research purposes.

Iran deploys Russian-made S-300 missiles at its Fordow nuclear site: TV
ANKARA (Reuters) – Iran has deployed the Russian-supplied S-300 surface-to-air missile defence system around its Fordow underground uranium enrichment facility, Iranian state media reported on Monday.
Iranian state TV on Sunday aired footage of deployment of the recently delivered missile system to the nuclear site in the central Iran.
“Our main priority is to protect Iran’s nuclear facilities under any circumstances,” Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ (IRGC) air defense force told state TV.
Iran and the six major powers reached a landmark nuclear deal in 2015 aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear programme in exchange for lifting nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Tehran over its disputed nuclear work.
Enrichment of uranium at the Fordow facility, around 100 km (60 miles) south of Tehran, has stopped since the implementation of the nuclear deal in January.

Another excellent job by J.E. Dyrer one that people need to read, it explains not only why teh deployment of the S300 air defense system is a big deal but what the Iranian harrasment of our ships has been about and how the Obama’s response show how he holds the US military in contempt.
Media hide Iran’s first S-300 deployment in plain sight
In one of the most remarkable thematic misdirections I can remember, the West’s mainstream media reported on 28 August that Iran has now deployed “long-range missiles” to the Fordo uranium enrichment site in northern Iran, near Qom.
If you don’t look past the headline, you may think vaguely that Iran has put some launchers for an intermediate-range ballistic missile in at Fordo. That would be interestingly odd – food for thought, certainly, if only for wonks – but not terribly informative. The average reader has no way of putting such information in context.

Prior to WWII a military theorist developed the theory that since aerial bombardment is so devastating especially on cities that it would make war to terrible to fight. He also put forward that the bombers would always get through so it was useless to defend against them. A sort of mutually assured destruction. We all know that this whole theory was a total failure and for any who study history they also know that MAD was also a failure. The US stopped working on missile defense and protecting the civilians from nuclear attack the Soviets didn’t, they continued to build radiation shelters and work on missile defense until the bitter end. This bitter end was brought about by the US starting to work on Missile defense.
Now we are seeing a US President ignoring provocations must short of war and which could well be practice for attacks that will occur when Iran decides to start the war to bring back the Mahdi.
He passes off the deployment of a highly advanced and effective air defense system as no big deal and points that we can still get through the system to bomb the hardened site. This is true we can still get through the air defense system and bomb the site, repeated bombings of the site would destroy it but what would be the cost?
It would take a significant portion of our air assets to protect the bombers from the S300 on the way in and out and attacking t he air defense system would signal what we planned and allow the Iranians to move nuclear components to a new location. And since we might have to make repeated attacks to take out the target how many attacks would we carry out? The planes can be rebuild but the lives lost aren’t as easily replaced.
Granted we have a large population and can train new pilots to replace those lost but what we can’t replace is the experience of the lost pilots. The new pilots would be inexperienced and would take heaver causalities then the older ones. I will also grant that we all know we are going to lose lives in a war but does the President have to show so much contempt for the military and the nation that he is willing to allow the enemy to build a military machine that will be able to cost us significantly more lives? And you must remember that Obama is taking a lot of the military equipment he is decommissioning and selling it off to scrap merchants meaning that when the war starts we have to purchase all new equipment which makes preserving what we already have a high priority. We will trade lives and equipment for time to recruit, retrain and reequip but we don’t want to spend more lives then we have to.
Maybe just go ahead, take out Qom. Kill off the hairiest shitte ayatollahs. A whole lot of them.
Sic the minority populations – 40%, not insignificant – on their wuzzy neighbors. Unleash regional sunnis with a grudge.

U.S. drone enters Iran’s airspace, leaves after warning: Tasnim
Iran’s military detected a U.S. drone entering Iranian airspace on Monday and issued a warning for it to leave, which it subsequently did, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported.
“Iran’s army air defense detected and warned an American drone in the eastern airspace of the country. It was coming from Afghanistan. The drone left the area,” Tasnim quoted the Iranian military as saying.
Tasnim gave no details on how the Iranian authorities had warned the unmanned drone to leave its airspace.
A U.S. defense official said last week that four of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vessels ‘harassed’ a U.S. warship on Tuesday near the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran said the ships had only been carrying out their regular duties monitoring foreign ships near Iranian waters.

Turkish forces deepen push into Syria, draw U.S. rebuke over targets
BEIRUT/KARKAMIS, Turkey (Reuters) – Turkish-backed forces pushed deeper into northern Syria on Monday and drew a rebuke from NATO ally the United States, which said it was concerned the battle for territory had shifted away from targeting Islamic State.
At the start of Turkey’s now almost week-long cross-border offensive, Turkish tanks, artillery and warplanes provided Syrian rebel allies the firepower to capture swiftly the Syrian frontier town of Jarablus from Islamic State militants.
Since then, Turkish forces have mainly pushed into areas controlled by forces aligned to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a coalition that encompasses the Kurdish YPG militia and which has been backed by Washington to fight the jihadists.
A group monitoring the tangled, five-year-old conflict in Syria said 41 people were killed by Turkish air strikes as Turkish forces pushed south on Sunday. Turkey denied there were any civilian deaths, saying 25 Kurdish militants were killed.
“We want to make clear that we find these clashes – in areas where ISIL is not located – unacceptable and a source of deep concern,” said Brett McGurk, U.S special envoy for the fight against Islamic State, using an acronym for the jihadists.
“We call on all armed actors to stand down,” he wrote on his official Twitter account, citing a statement from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Syria war: US warns over Turkish-Kurdish violence (BBC, Aug 29, 2016)
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-37212256
“The US says fighting between Turkey, pro-Turkish rebels and Kurdish-aligned forces in northern Syria is “unacceptable” and must stop.
Clashes in places where so-called Islamic State (IS) was not present were a “source of deep concern”, the US envoy to the anti-IS coalition tweeted.
Turkish forces have attacked what they say are Kurdish “terrorists” since crossing the border last week.
But the Kurdish YPG militia says Turkey just wants to occupy Syrian territory.
Ankara says it aims to push both IS and Kurdish fighters away from its border.
Turkish forces and allied factions of the rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) forced IS out of the Syrian border city of Jarablus on Tuesday and have since pounded neighbouring villages held by Kurdish-led, US-backed Syria Democratic Forces (SDF).
Turkey has insisted Kurdish militia, which it regards as terrorists, retreat east across the Euphrates river.
The Kurdish Popular Protection Units (YPG), which dominates the SDF, says its forces have withdrawn, and that the Turkish action against the group was a “pretext” for occupying Syria.
The US Pentagon spokesman renewed Washington’s call for the YPG to pull back over the river, which he said had “largely occurred”.
He warned that unco-ordinated operations “provide room for ISIL [IS] to find sanctuary and continue planning attacks against Turkey, the SDF, the United States, and our partners around the world”.
Turkish concern over Kurdish expansion increased after the SDF took control of the strategic Syrian city of Manbij two weeks ago.
Turkey has been fighting a Kurdish insurgency in its south-east for decades and fears Kurdish gains in northern Syria will fuel Kurdish separatism at home.
On Sunday, tens of people were killed in Turkish air strikes on Kurdish-held areas near Jarablus…”
This one isn’t doing anything to upset the world yet, but the location of the country and his illness has the potential to be important.
Uzbek leader in intensive care after brain hemorrhage: daughter
ALMATY (Reuters) – Authoritarian Uzbek leader Islam Karimov, whose Central Asian country is a stage for strategic rivalry between Russia, China and the West, is in stable condition in an intensive care ward after suffering a brain hemorrhage on Saturday, his daughter said.
President Karimov, 78, who has run Uzbekistan since it was a Soviet republic and wields sweeping powers, has no obvious successor, a situation characteristic of the volatile Central Asia region which is still largely run by former Communist apparatchiks.
The absence of a strong political opposition or free media means any eventual transition of power is likely to be decided within a close circle of Karimov’s family and top officials.
“At the moment, it is too early to make any forecasts about his condition in the future,” his daughter Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva wrote on her Instagram page on Monday. “I will be grateful to everyone who will support my father with prayers.
The government of Central Asia’s most populous country, with reserves of oil, gas and gold, said on Sunday Karimov was undergoing hospital treatment, but gave no details.

“AROUND 200 people held a protest against the construction of a “Muslim housing estate” and the rise of the religion in their area.
The anti-Islam rally took place in the west of Melbourne, the second most populous city in Australia, over the weekend.
Protesters waved flags and held aloft banners before marching to the local council’s office.
One such banner said: “No. Islam sharia law against mankind.”
The protest was condemned as divisive and “religious paranoia or hatred” by a leading Australian politician.
It was organised by the True Blue Crew, which describes itself as an anti-immigration group.
The group claims a housing development which will provide 75 homes has been designated a “Muslim” housing estate despite the city council categorically denying it is a faith-based development.
A post on the True Blue Crew’s Facebook page, posted ahead of the rally, said: “Join as one to say NO to the Islamic Ideology!…”
Team Obama’s new low in the name of ‘trans rights’
One of the top guardians of American freedoms just entered the fight against the Obama administration’s insane excesses in the name of “trans rights.”
The Department of Health and Human Services recently issued rules telling doctors they can’t decline to perform gender-reassignment surgery on kids if it’s recommended by a “mental health professional.” Refusal could be a career-ender.
How crazy is the rule? Well, for starters, most trans teens identify differently later in life — yet reassignment surgery is often irreversible, and even less-radical procedures can be harmful, as HHS’ own medical experts note.

The entire ‘LGBT’ narrative just crumbled
If your daughter, sister, mother or friend “identified” as a fat person trapped in a perilously emaciated body – if she truly believed she was obese, but, in reality, suffered from anorexia – would you affirm her “fatness” and get her liposuction? Or would you go to the ends of the earth to help her bring her subjective (and mistaken) identity into alignment with objective reality? When someone is engaged in demonstrably self-destructive behavior, it is not loving, but hateful, to encourage persistence.
It was, ironically, lesbian activist and writer Dorothy Allison who once wrote, “Things come apart so easily when they have been held together with lies.” In validation of this truism, a series of new peer-reviewed studies have just been released that serve to utterly debunk and deconstruct key “progressive” homosexual-activist talking points.

What can you buy for $1 trillion? A terrorist safe haven abroad. Just ask the U.S. gov’t
By LU Staff August 29, 2016
A new report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) warns that jihadi groups are likely to find safe haven in Afghanistan where the federal government has spent a trillion dollars and deployed hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops.
The entire purpose of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 was to topple the Taliban government and destroy the safe havens al Qaeda used to attack the U.S. on 9/11. Since Barack Obama ended the U.S. combat mission in Afghanistan in 2014, the Taliban have made historic battlefield gains throughout that country. The U.S.-backed Afghan government has shown itself to be rife with corruption and faces a pending political leadership crisis in September.
Noting these facts ISW warns:

Germany charges teenage girl who stabbed policeman with supporting Islamic State
A 16-year-old girl who stabbed a policeman at a train station in Hanover was acting under orders from Islamic State, German federal prosecutors said on Monday.
Safia S., a German-Moroccan dual citizen who is in prison awaiting trial, was charged with attempted murder and with being a supporter of the jihadist group, prosecutors said.
She travelled to Istanbul in January, where she met members of the group who planned to help her enter Islamic State-controlled territory in Syria.
While in Istanbul, she received orders from Islamic State members to carry out a “martyrdom attack” in Germany, prosecutors said.
She stabbed and seriously wounded the policeman in February after she was brought back to Germany by her mother, the prosecution said in a statement.
After being returned to Germany, Safia S. contacted Islamic State members online and asked them to help her plan an attack, prosecutors said.
They said a 19-year-old Syrian-German who knew about the plan and who is also in custody was charged with failing to report a crime. No date for their trials has been set.
The Hanover stabbing preceded attacks against civilians in Germany in late July, including two claimed by Islamic State in which only the assailants died.
Those attacks put the relatively liberal migration policies implemented by Chancellor Angela Merkel back in the spotlight and prompted her government to draft plans to increase spending on security.

Greece: The Freedom-of-Speech Canary Died
In coalmines, from 1911 to 1986, canaries operated as an early warning system for the leakage of hazardous gases. Whenever the birds showed signs of distress, the miners knew trouble was coming.
Greece has deep problems. Greece is presently in the “coalmine” of an endless economic and immigration crisis.
This month, for the first time, there was a request to activate an anti-racist law, passed in September 2014, against a Greek citizen who also has institutional status.
The coalition government of Alexis Tsipras (SYRIZA) and Panos Kammenos (Independent Greeks) asked the district attorney to prosecute the Bishop of Chios Island, Markos Vasilakis, because he dared to say, during a sermon, that the thousands of people who recently arrived from Turkey on the island of Chios are illegal migrants, and not Syrian refugees.
Chios, the fifth-largest island of Greece, is only 3.5 nautical miles from Turkey, and therefore offers an opportunity to migrants and refugees to cross from Turkey into the European Union.
Chios is also one of a few Greek islands that has received the largest waves of migrants. Its population of 51,320 inhabitants now accommodates, according to the latest official data, 3,078 migrants, with more on the way.
It seems the government coalition, through the Secretary of Human Rights, has decided that the solution of Greece’s migrant/refugee problem will come if the Bishop of Chios Island is prosecuted for incitement to racial hatred, and if the constitutional right of Greek citizens to freedom of speech is overturned. Secretary of Human Rights Kostas Papaioannou asked the district attorney to prosecute Bishop Markos for these specific charges.

Iraqi media are reporting that ISIS militants have opened the taps of an oil pipeline in the town of Qayyarah, in northern Iraq. Crude is flowing in the streets, as images from Qayyarah show, and people are worried about what will happen if someone decides to set the crude on fire.
Iraqi News notes that this is not the first time that the ISIS militants have resorted to this response: before Qayyarah was liberated by the Iraqi army and the U.S.-led coalition forces, the terrorist group spilled crude from the local pipeline into the Tigris River, which runs through the town, causing major environmental damage.
There are still ISIS militants scattered in the area around Qayyarah, so it is possible they will do more damage if given the chance, Iraqi media warn.

The FBI warning, contained in a “flash” alert from the FBI’s Cyber Division, a copy of which was obtained by Yahoo News, comes amid heightened concerns among U.S. intelligence officials about the possibility of cyberintrusions, potentially by Russian state-sponsored hackers, aimed at disrupting the November elections.
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/660200/Europe-refugee-system-chaos-Germany-9000-child-migrants-MISSING
Germany registered 60,000 unaccompanied child refugees with 4,750 listed as missing in January.
That has now spiked to more than 8,600 cases, including hundreds of children under 14 years, according to the interior ministry.
Most of the youngsters come from Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia, Eritrea, Morocco and Algeria.
While officials are hoping ta paperwork backlog will eventually bring some of the children back on the official radar, statistics suggest many will never be found.

Russia’s politically-sensitive and ultimately fruitless decision to launch bombing missions on Syria from Iranian soil has exposed the limits to its air power, leaving Moscow in need of a new strategy to advance its aims.
People familiar with Russia’s military said Moscow opted for the sorties from Iran – and Tehran agreed to allow them – because they were struggling to achieve their aim of crushing rebels in the city of Aleppo.
The gamble failed and rebels fighting their ally, Syrian President Bashar al-Aasad, remain ensconced in parts of Aleppo.
Nobody with any knowledge of the military expected the bombing to bring about a surrender, you can bomb them back to the stone age but the war isn’t won until someone with a knife on the end of a rifle digs them out of their holes. This was proven many times during WWII, and the Russians are very proud of the defense of Stalingrad which is one of the examples of this.
Something else is going on. There’s so much disinformation from so many angles, who knows? Certainly not that Reuters reporter.

French minister: enemy seeks to divide Muslims, non-Muslims
PARIS (AP) — France’s interior minister said Monday that the country is at war with an enemy trying to pit Muslims against non-Muslims, making it urgent to create a strong bond between the nation and citizens of the Islamic faith.
Bernard Cazeneuve also said it was crucial to tailor the religion to the values of secular France, “a pillar of the republic.”
He spoke after a day-long conference with Muslim leaders, professionals and some lawmakers to try to mount a project meant to bind Muslims to the nation, a task given new urgency after deep divisions surfaced over burkini bans in 30 French beach towns and AFTER EXTREMIST ATTACKCS THAT ALSO STIGMATIZED MUSLIMS
A high court struck down the burkini bans Friday, but the high-pitched debate that quickly seeped into France’s political sphere revealed raw tensions between the secular establishment and sectors of France’s estimated 5 million Muslims, the largest Muslim population in Western Europe.
Cazeneuve, speaking to reporters, said a “strong and calm” relationship with Muslims is “urgent and particularly necessary.”
“France is at war with terrorists, at war with an enemy trying to divide it and pit the French against each other, fracture the nation’s body, sap the republic,” Cazeneuve said.
“We must not fall into this mortal trap.”
The July 14 attack on revelers in Nice, the killing of a priest in Normandy on July 26 and the June killing of a police couple in their home — all claimed by the Islamic State group — have focused tensions on Muslims.
A French prosecutor opened an investigation into suspected racial discrimination after two Muslim women said they were ordered out of a restaurant over the weekend with the owner heard saying on an iPhone video, “I don’t want people like you in my place. … Get out.”
Cazeneuve warned in an interview with France’s Roman Catholic newspaper La Croix that if the political class cannot unite all French “the dynamics of division may prove dangerous.” However, he ruled out on Monday drafting a national law banning burkinis.
The daylong conference is the latest step in creating an “Islam of France” that respects French secular values. Muslims must be “committed to a total defense of the Republic in the face of terrorism, in the face of Salafism,” Cazeneuve told the paper, adding French values must “transcend all others.”
In France, the interior minister’s responsibilities include maintaining good relations with religious denominations.
Authorities plan to create a Foundation of Islam of France and an association working with it to train imams in the history of the nation and its secular values — and better track foreign influence on French Muslims, and ultimately try to keep it at bay. Doing away with foreign financing is tricky because France by law cannot directly fund houses of worship, nor can it provide theology courses for imams.
The goal is to formally launch the foundation and association by year’s end or early next year, an official, not authorized to speak publicly on the issue, said on condition of anonymity. Courses on Islamology are also to be offered to French to acquaint them with the religion.
“What is at stake is very important,” said Abdallah Zekri, who heads the Observatory Against Islamophobia. “Firstly, we must end the arguments over the burkini, which make no sense.”
He told reporters that some people wanted to use burkinis to stigmatize Muslims, while politicians looking to France 2017 presidential race seized the issue “for vote-catching reasons.”
He also contended that humiliating Muslims “has facilitated the work of Daesh (Islamic State) recruiters” of vulnerable Muslim youth.
More French Muslims have joined the ranks of IS militants than from other European nations — with at least 600 French citizens in Syria or Iraq, 160 killed and 1,800 either considering or en route.
Cazeneuve listed some security measures to counter the encroachment of extremists: so far this year, France has expelled 15 foreigners considered a threat — six in August and more than 80 since 2012. Some 20 mosques or prayer rooms considered imbued with radicalism have been closed in recent months.

France: Cazeneuve calls for new type of French Islam which puts ‘Republic first’
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve called for a new type of French Islam “with both feet in the Republic, which speaks to all Muslims of France and puts the membership of the Republic first,” during a press conference at the Place Beauvau in Paris, Monday.
SOT, Bernard Cazeneuve, French Interior Minister (French): “France fights determinedly against the religious extremism and radical Islam that calls for violence, hatred of others and rejection of the laws and values of the Republic. I gave strict instructions to carry out the expulsion of all persons of foreign nationality who hold hate speech, be it inside or outside the mosques. Over eighty deportation orders have been carried out since 2012, fifteen since the beginning of the year and six during the month of August. And the government has also proceeded to close around twenty mosques and prayer rooms, which have been radicalised in the recent months.”
SOT, Bernard Cazeneuve, French Interior Minister (French): “Current law allows us to live secularly, a pillar of the Republic. I repeat, secularism is even firmer and it is soothing. It is even lower than it is stigmatising. It must remain a principle of emancipation and mutual tolerance. Secularism, as established by the 1905 Act, and subsequent amendments which clarified its application, gives us the framework to continue building the Islam of France. Muslim leaders are telling me all about their commitment to these principles that make the Republic, and I insist on this, their first affiliation.”
SOT, Bernard Cazeneuve, French Interior Minister (French): “Muslims in France have fully integrated, the House of which I speak will be extremely firm towards radical Islam and at the same time this House will put the same energy to defend the Muslims of France against the risk of fracturing the French company that may result from exploitation of few concepts such as secularism. Therefore, it reaches a certain stage of history, which makes the historical necessity possible, which had not been possible until now. And we need an Islam with both feet in the Republic, which speaks to all Muslims of France and puts the membership of the Republic first. That is the first membership that guarantees the possibility of tolerance and brotherhood that allows one to live with others.”
SOT, Bernard Cazeneuve, French Interior Minister (French): “The Islam of France, the Islam that inspires the great majority of French Muslims, must expand its commitment to the Republic, for the homeland, for France whose universal discourse must be assumed and especially promoted everywhere in our society and in the world.”
French government prepares new Islam Foundation as burkini row rumbles on
A law to ban the burkini throughout France would be unconstitutional, according to Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve who met Muslim leaders on Monday to discuss the creation of a national body to further integrate Islam in France.
A law to forbid the wearing of burkini would be “unconstitutional, ineffective and likely to create antagonism and irreparable tension”, Cazeneuve told Monday’s La Croix newspaper in an interview that covered his plans to set up a “Foundation for the Islam of France”.
Last Friday, in a test case, the Council of State ruled that one of the 31 local council’s ban of the swimsuit was a “violation of fundamental freedoms”.
But, Cazeneuve added, “Muslims must continue to engage with us over gender equality, the inviolable nature of the principles of the French Republic and tolerance in order to live together”.
Former president Nicolas Sarkozy, who hopes to stand for the presidency again next year, responded with a call to amend the constitution.
“What is freedom where there is the tyranny of minorities?” he asked in an interview with RTL radio. “What is creating tension is the absence of authority in our country. It’s the absence of rules, the climate of chaos, it’s fear.”
Hard-left presidential candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon won applause at a campaign rally when he mocked “hypocrites” who “defend human rights without having defended them in the past”, pointing to Sarkozy’s and current President François Hollande’s friendly relations with the Saudi ruling family.
State-sponsored Islamic foundation to be set up
Cazeneuve met Muslim leaders on Monday to discuss the establishment of the proposed foundation, which is part of the government’s response to the terror attacks that have hit the country over the last two years.
“This positive episode will put an end to the nauseating sequence of the burkini,” commented Anouar Kbibech of the CFCM grouping of Islamic bodies.
The government hopes the body will root out hardline Islamists linked to jihadi violence and strengthen French Muslims – the great majority, according to Cazeneuve – who are loyal to the “values of the republic”.
A secular arm will encourage cultural projects and better training in “Islamology” for imams in the country’s universities, while a body run by religious figures will work on the financing of mosques.
It will be forbidden from accepting finance from outside the European Union, these sources being judged lacking in transparency with some of the Gulf states accused of financing radical mullahs.
About 15 percent of funding currently comes for non-EU sources – Algeria pays two million euros a year to the Paris mosque, for example – and it will not be banned outright.
President proves controversial
The foundation, which will be headed by an executive of 11 members, including representatives of the CFCM, the government and other bodies, has already run into controversy with the nomination of a non-Muslim, former interior minister Jean-Pierre Chévènement, as its president.
Pointing out that Chévènement tried to set up a similar body when he was minister, Cazeneuve said his appointment was “symbolic” because “the new body will be the bridge between the republic and the Muslims of France”.

IRAQ – Suicide attack in Iraq’s Karbala leaves 15 dead
Attackers storm wedding ceremony with hand grenades and machine-guns, according to army sources
At least 15 people were killed late Sunday night in a suicide-bomb attack in the Ain al-Tamer area west of Iraq’s Shia-majority city of Karbala, the Iraqi army said Monday.
Iskandar Watut, a member of parliament’s security committee, told Anadolu Agency that all those killed and injured in the attack were civilians.
In a statement, the army’s central Euphrates command said the attacks in Ain al-Tamer (located some 120 kilometers west of Karbala) had left 15 dead and 16 injured.
According to the army statement, five suicide bombers wearing explosive belts attacked a wedding ceremony with hand grenades and machine-guns.
After one of the attackers detonated his belt, “the security forces killed the four other bombers”, read the army statement.
The army, in coordination with local authorities, has since ratcheted up security in the area.
“The situation is now completely under control,” according to the army statement.
While no group has yet taken responsibility for the attack, the Daesh terrorist group has carried out similar attacks in the past.
Iraq has suffered a devastating security vacuum since mid-2014, when Daesh captured the northern city of Mosul along with vast swathes of territory in the country’s northern and western regions.
In recent months, the Iraqi army — backed by U.S.-led airstrikes and its allies on the ground — has since managed to retake much of the territory lost earlier to Daesh.
Nevertheless, the terrorist group remains in firm control of several parts of the country, including Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city.

Iran: No Range Limit for Our New Ballistic Missiles
Iran has successfully played America as the fool, challenging the U.S. to stand up to its belligerence. Yet every time America backs down, Iran becomes more empowered.
The Iranian defense minister recently pronounced that the Islamic Republic has “no limit for the range” of the ballistic missiles it is developing.
In making the pronouncement, General Hossein Dehqan also said that Iran is now on par with world standards for most of its weapons and military equipment, specifically, that “production of the national individual weapons and efforts to improve the quality and precision-striking power of ballistic missiles are among the defense ministry’s achievements…”
One of the advanced weapons Iran has developed is a ballistic missile that deploys multiple warheads against a single target. As the government-aligned Fars News Agency reported, “This makes for an efficient area attack weapon.”
(Never mind that just three months ago, that the state-owned Iranian Press TV announced that “all these advancements on the military level are only for defensive reasons.”)
In addition, Iran has now deployed the long-awaited Russian-made, long-range S-300 missile system. The system was deployed to protect the country’s Fordo nuclear facility, which the commander of Iran’s air force calls paramount “in all circumstances.”

Putin has no desire to fight WWIII, especially since the US still has a large number of nuclear missiles. The big question is how long he can keep the Iranians from starting WWIII when it is Russia along that is opposing them? Or will Russia find some way to bring China into the war on his side? Or India? Because unless Putin can keep Turkey and Iran fighting each other WWIII wills start and the US and Europe are in any shape to help fight them.
Putin is smarter than this little trap.
He is allied both with the Sunni Turkey – poised to become the new Caliphate, and the Shia Iran.
He is skilled at playing one against the other.
He has no doubt that WWIII can be fought by proxy for decades, if not longer, and he is not afraid of it.
Well said. I agree.
He might be enjoying himself, maybe…

5 Things You Should Know About ISIS-Tortured Yazidi Women
Although they are not the top item in the news, the plight of the Yazidi and Christian women captured by the Islamic State is still horrific.
The violence against the Yazidi people stem from ISIS members’ view that they are infidels. “My own community has been subject to more than 74 genocides by radical Muslim groups, not just now but throughout the history such as the Ottomans and others. These radical groups, whenever given the chance, will commit their crimes. What happened in Iraq and Syria was that the world remained silent as ISIS expanded,” said Nadia Murad, a young Yazidi sex slave survivor.
ISIS keeps a price list for the young women to be sold as sex slaves. The list includes a price for girls ages 1-9 years of age – $169.21, the highest-priced group. Once abducted, the Yazidi (and Christian) women and girls are forced to undergo “virginity tests” and then are sent to be traded in “slave bazaars.”
Women who try to make themselves less desirable to their captors, by either rubbing dirt on their faces or telling lies that their younger brothers are their sons results in them being beaten nearly to death. One Yazidi teenager who had been repeatedly raped set herself on fire to make her less desirable to her captors. If the women refuse to have sex with their captors, they are killed as were 19 Yazidi women back in July. The 19 women were placed inside an iron cage and burned alive.
In Germany where a large number of Yazidi refugees are, there now exists a special program to assist Yazidi women who were raped and tortured by ISIS members. The program is run by trauma psychologist, university professor and Mideast expert, Jan Ilhan Kizilhan, and currently assists 1,100 women who were selected by Kizilhan.
As of August 17th, government officials in Toronto are being urged to resettle 400 Yazidi women and their families, who escaped the clutches of ISIS, in Canada. This follows Canada’s acceptance of some 25,000 refugees. Of the more than 6,500 women and children who were taken into captivity two years ago in Iraq, more than 3,500 remain in captivity.

Turkish Syrian operation forces US to make hard choice (france24, Aug 29, 2016)
http://www.france24.com/en/20160829-turkish-syrian-operation-forces-us-make-hard-choice
“WASHINGTON (AFP) – Turkey’s dramatic intervention in Syria could prove a setback for the Islamic State group — but it forces the United States to make a difficult choice between two unpredictable allies.
Washington has been relying on the Kurdish YPG militia to provide on-the-ground muscle for its campaign against the jihadists, much to the outrage of its NATO partner Ankara.
Turkey regards the YPG — the armed wing of Syria’s PYD Kurdish party — as little more than an arm of the PKK, and the PKK as a “terrorist” movement waging a separatist war inside Turkey.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government has made it clear that Turkey’s seizure of the border town of Jarabulus was as much to halt a YPG advance as it was to deny ground to the IS “caliphate.”
Bloody clashes have already broken out between US-backed Kurdish fighters and Turkish-backed forces on the ground in northern Syria, and Washington has been left scrambling for a clear response.
Earlier this month, US officials had praised the YPG-dominated “Syrian Democratic Forces” for their liberation of the IS-held town of Manbij on the western side of the Euphrates.
Then last week, on a visit to Turkey, Vice President Joe Biden said the YPG would “under no circumstances” get US support unless they honored what he said was a pledge to retreat east of the river.
The Pentagon has now suggested that Kurdish fighters have largely obeyed the request to withdraw, but fighting has nevertheless erupted west of the river, drawing anger from Washington.
President Barack Obama’s envoy to the coalition against the Islamic State group, Brett McGurk, tweeted a Pentagon statement dubbing the Turkish-Kurdish clashes “unacceptable and a source of deep concern.”
For some observers, the confused message from Washington has put at risk a golden opportunity to capitalize on a new willingness by Turkey to finally take the fight to the IS extremists.
– Defeat from jaws of victory –
“The US is risking grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory,” said Matt Bryza, a former member of president George W. Bush’s National Security Council and now a fellow at the Atlantic Council.
Obama is due to meet Erdogan on Sunday in China on the sidelines of the G20 summit, his adviser Ben Rhodes said, to discuss “the counter-ISIL campaign and the fact that we need to stay united.”
Bryza and others argue that the United States has been urging Turkey to take a stronger stance against the IS for two years and would be foolish to offend Erdogan now by sticking by the Kurds.
“The president should come out and say what the policy is, because you’ve got that McGurk versus Biden dissonance,” he told AFP.
“What that policy ought to be, I think, is that the United States will work with Turkey to make sure that the YPG goes back east of the Euphrates,” he continued.
But not everyone in Washington lays the blames the US side for the new tension — some point to the Erdogan government’s ambivalence in the fight against Islamist extremism and anti-American tone.
“The YPG was not America’s first choice as a partner and ally in combating ISIS on the ground, it was really all we were left with,” said John Hannah, who advised former vice president Dick Cheney.
Hannah, now at the Federation for Defense of Democracies think tank, is co-author of a report released Monday warning the US may have to relocate military bases outside Turkey if ties worsen.
He argued that if major NATO power Turkey had supported the US-led coalition against the IS group more strongly from the outset, Washington would not have been forced to turn to its Kurdish foes.
“If this turns now into a massive fight between the Turkish army or Turkish-backed forces and the YPG without any understanding that Turkey is going to step in and assume a much larger role against ISIS, it’s obviously going to be cause of real new tensions between the United States and Turkey,” he warned.
But, whatever Washington and Ankara’s disagreements in the past, the latter’s new determination to play a more forceful role could be a sign of hope for a broader political settlement in Syria.
Kemal Kirisci, director of the Turkey Project at the Brookings Institution, said Turkey appears to have abandoned its dream of a total Sunni Arab Islamist victory in Syria’s civil war.
– Ongoing bloodshed –
That, along with Erdogan’s partial rapprochement with Russia and Iran, could provide an opportunity for a settlement that could end the bloodshed and should not be hostage to Turkish-Kurdish enmity.
“What’s happening here, whether we like it or not, is that Turkey is standing up for what it sees as its national interests, which awkwardly overlap and conflict with the ones the US has,” Kirisci said.
“Every player there is trying to muddle through, but there is another level of game that I think is trying to unfold and possibly lead the way to a possible resolution of the conflict.””
