2. Half a million Syrian refugees could be resettled to EU: Hungary PM (This is the Reuters version of the story. FOX version on previous post)
European Union and Turkish leaders may announce a behind-the-scenes agreement later this week to resettle 400,000 to 500,000 Syrian refugees directly from Turkey to the EU, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Wednesday.
Orban has locked horns with EU partners for years over economic policy, political freedoms and most recently the handling of the migrant crisis, in which the Hungarian leader took a hard line and erected a steel fence along the country’s southern border to keep out migrants.
Hungary has firmly resisted the idea of resettlement quotas to distribute more evenly the migrants, most of whom wanted to go to Germany or Sweden.
Speaking to a meeting of Hungarian leaders in Budapest, Orban said he expected intense pressure from Europe to accept some part of those half a million refugees, something he said Budapest could not do.
(There is a lot to be concerned about in terms of the clandestine and non-democratic way in which the EU operates, and more importantly, the intended goals of the union which no sane European would have signed on to, had they been made public from the start)

5. Fmr. Military chief: ISIS intel didn’t fit W.H. narrative
(CNN)ISIS released video Wednesday showing the beheading of a man it claims joined the terrorist group but was in fact a Russian spy, as well as a message chastising Russian President Vladimir Putin and threatening his country’s citizens.
As the captive kneels before him in an orange jumpsuit, his killer says in Russian that the airstrikes ordered by Putin against the Islamist extremist group has “made us understand that we are doing right thing” by continuing their fight.
He then addresses the Russian people, saying, “You will not find peace in your homes. We will kill your sons … for each son you killed here. And we will destroy your homes for each home you destroyed here.”

(Proving once again that these are not classical refugees in the sense for which the legal term was coined)
Initial efforts in November by the United Nations to find Syrian refugees keen on immediately migrating to Canada yielded relatively little fruit, figures released by Ottawa show.
Only about one in 10 refugees indicated an interest when contacted in the latter half of November by the UN, numbers published by the federal government Wednesday indicate.
The Canadian government insists refugee interest has since picked up substantially but could provide no numbers to back that up. They said a number of refugees in camps are still hoping they might return to Syria or want to remain in the region.
Between November 18 and 26, about 10 per cent of refugees contacted, chiefly in Jordan, but also in Lebanon, indicated they were interested, Ottawa says.
The United Nations refugee agency sent text messages to more than 41,000 Syrians in Jordan and Lebanon asking if they wanted to come to Canada by the end of February 2016. They followed up by phone and found that only about 28,500 of the phone numbers worked.
President Obama has appointed second-generation anti-Israel activist, and former Iran deal negotiator Robert O. (Rob) Malley as his ‘senior adviser on the counterinsurgency campaign against ISIL.’ Malley knows much about terrorism as his dad was close friends with Palestinian terrorist Yasser Arafat (they both were born and raised in Egypt and each was funded by the USSR).
While the sins of the father are not normally visited on the son, this son has chosen to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
CAMERA reported that Malley grew up in France, where his Egyptian-born father, Simon Malley, and New York raised mother, Barbara (Silverstein) Malley, were radical publishers of a controversial magazine about Africa and the so-called Third World. Malley’s parents were rabidly anti-Israel and counted Yasir Arafat as a personal friend. Indeed, Arafat was among those “leaders” (for want of a better word) who had intervened with the French government to readmit the Malley family to France after they had been expelled for their radical activities.
