He observed that muslims cannot make a treaty with an enemy that is for over 10 years based on the example of mohamed in his treaty of Hudaibiya.
Observe the Reliance of the Traveler 09.16 which reads in part:
In Sacred Law truce means a peace treaty with those hostile to Islam, involving a cessation of fighting for a specified period, whether for payment or something else.
[…] There must be some interest served in making a truce other than mere preservation of the status quo. Allah Most High says, “So do not be faint-hearted and call for peace, when it is you who are the uppermost” (Koran 47:35). Interests that justify making a truce are such things as Muslim weakness because of lack of members or materiel, or the hope of an enemy becoming Muslim (proceeds with koran quotes)
If the Muslims are weak, a truce may be made for ten years if necessary, for the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) made a truce with Quraysh for that long, as is related by Abu Dawud. It is not permissible to stipulate longer than that, save by means of new truces, each of which does not exceed ten years.
So if we are to assume that the Islamic Republic of Iran is using islamic law to guide how it shall proceed with legal matters such as a peace treaty, as this is how it will likely view the nuclear weapons development issue, it is also reasonable to assume that they will use the pirate mohamed’s example in how he dealt with that treaty once signed.
Less than two years after making a treaty with the people of Mecca, Muhammad returned with an army and took the city by surprise. Although this has been a traditional source of pride for Muslims down through the centuries, contemporary scholars are more apt to dwell on excusing Muhammad’s action, since it contrasts with the claim that Islam is a religion of peace.
So Israel should make plans along with parts of Europe and the USA and likely Canada as we actually tossed their embassy out and broke off diplomatic relations with Iran a couple of years ago, to make sure that Iran does not have the capability to launch attacks on our peoples and nations by the time 2 years has come, or, by the time they are simply capable of it, depending on how The Islamic Republic of Iran decides to interpret the example of Hudaibiya. As pertaining to time frame, or state of preparedness. Likely its the latter.

Australia’s campaign to educate the public on the real purpose of, and direction of funds from, halal food certification is paying off showing that we can do something as individuals if we try, even if its just checking labels and informing stores we will not buy any products that are halal certified.
