4. Boko Haram seizes military base in Nigeria

(CNN)Hundreds of Islamist militants have seized a multinational military base in northeastern Nigeria, according to a government official.

“Boko Haram overwhelmed the Multinational Joint Task Force and dislodged them from their base outside Baga after hours-long fighting,” said Maina Ma’aji Lawan, a Nigerian senator ?from the state of Borno, where Baga is located.

“They came in huge numbers heavily armed and subdued the multinational troops consisting (of) soldiers from Nigeria, Niger and Chad,” Lawan said.

5. ISIS fighters ‘have contracted Ebola’: World Health Organisation investigating reports militants showed up at Iraqi hospital with lethal disease

Mosul has been under control of ISIS since June 2014 and over the past few weeks militants have reportedly executed more than a dozen doctors for refusing to treat injured fighters.

According to a report in Iraq’s pro-government newspaper, al Sabaah, the disease was brought to Mosul by ‘terrorists’ arriving ‘from several countries’ and Africa.

The symptoms of Ebola, which include nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding and bruising, are similar to those of other diseases including malaria and yellow fever meaning it could easily have have been misdiagnosed.

In addition, very few ISIS fighters are believed to have travelled up from West Africa where the Ebola outbreak originated with most coming from areas where there have been no reports of the disease.

The reports have appeared in pro-government and Kurdish media but if true it could have catastrophic implications for people in ISIS-held areas as the group is against western science and medicine.

6. The Jerusalem Post pulls no punches in this article on Islamic motivated terrorism. Highly unusual.

Obama’s actions have set the tone for the current whitewashing of Islamic terrorism in most of the West; thankfully, though, north of the border in Canada there is a clear-eyed leader to offer a counter- example, one that needs to be followed.

On October 20, Martin Couture- Rouleau, a Muslim convert and supporter of IS, rammed his car into two Canadian soldiers, killing one, just north of Montreal. Immediately thereafter, Prime Minister Stephen Harper defined the incident as a terrorist attack.

Two days later, another soldier was killed when Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, a convert to Islam who openly professed his admiration for jihadists, attacked parliament in Ottawa.

“I have been saying for a long time, we live in dangerous world,” Harper affirmed to lawmakers the next morning. “Terrorism has been here with us for a while…. [I draw] attention back to incidents such as the Toronto 18 [terror plot in 2006], the Via Rail conspiracy in 2013, and I could point to a number of others that most will never know about.”

  1. Interesting.
I’ve only looked at JPost for specific contributors – like Caroline Glick – or when directed there via blog. I’ve thought it just too predictable.

Target audience seemed to be secular, complacent, American Jews. Nothing that might challenge the world-view of the generic AIPAC-client. Tourist-fodder, bar-mitzvah at The Wall, buy State of Israel bonds, invest in The Start-up Nation.

It may be – or may have become – a little more nuanced than that.
    Secular, complacent… French Jews? …Argentine Jews…
    Just kidding.

  2. 1/ Knowing a bit more about Sweden gives me some context for Barbara Lerner Spectre, she of the infamous Youtube where she says:

‘I think there is a resurgence of anti-Semitism because at this point in time Europe has not yet learned how to be multicultural. And I think we are going to be part of the throes of that transformation, which must take place. Europe is not going to be the monolithic societies they once were in the last century. Jews are going to be at the centre of that. It’s a huge transformation for Europe to make. They are now going into a multicultural mode and Jews will be resented because of our leading role. But without that leading role and without that transformation, Europe will not survive.’

The Swedish establishment must have been thrilled when she came knocking with her proposal for a European Institute of Jewish Studies, Paideia. They were probably thinking they would have to find a zombie somewhere and bring it to life to do their bidding. But here was this Spectre fully-fleshed! As a bonus, letting her loose on the internet would give ammunition to Jew-haters worldwide.

I believe that quote is from 2012. The Jewish Week interviewed Barbara Spectre in Oct 2014:

‘Spectre believes the main underlying problem for European society is its lack of integration of its Muslim populations. Ironically, based on the horrors of what happened to the Jews during the Holocaust, some countries “over-reacted” by creating separate neighborhoods and schools for their immigrant populations to protect them, leading to separatism and deep, sometimes violent, resentment. She believes that Muslim extremism is more about this cultural upset than religion.

Many sociologists point to the fact that the U.S. has seen less extremism of this nature because its emphasis on multiculturalism allows minorities to maintain their own sense of identity within the shared goals of the larger society.’

That’s less execrable, but hardly less delusional. Sweden created Muslim ghettos to protect vulnerable Muslims from latently-fascistic Swedes. And the Muslims resented this, and so are ‘sometimes’ violent. The violence is because the fascistic if well-intentioned Swedes upset the Muslims culturally, and has nothing to do with Muslim religion. Muslims used as the revolutionary vanguard, pure Frankfurt School, with another level of irony if the Swedes are in fact latently fascistic.

Paideia is currently running something called ‘Project-Incubator.’ We’re probably not supposed to imagine them hatching some horrible mythological bird.

  3. Egyptian President Al-Sisi at Al-Azhar: We Must Revolutionize Our Religion

In a speech delivered at Al-Azhar on December 28, 2014, Egyptian President Abd Al-Fattah Al-Sisi called to combat extremist ideology and said: “We need to revolutionize our religion.” Calling for “religious discourse that is in keeping with its times,” Al-Sisi warned that “the Islamic nation is being torn apart and destroyed” by extremism.

  4. Pakistani TV Host and Former Minister: India Behind Peshawar School Terror Attack

In a show aired on the Pakistani Geo TV channel, Dr. Aamir Liaquat Husain, TV host and former religious affairs minister, said that India – which he called a land of “idol worshippers” – “was the planner behind all this carnage and destruction.” The show aired on December 18, 2014

    • Anti-Islam demos spread to Berlin

The anti-Islam demonstrations which have rocked Dresden will spread to Berlin on Monday night, with the first such xenophobic march being held in the capital.

Calling itself “Berlin Patriots Against The Islamification of the West”, or Bärgida, organisers are calling for a crowd of several hundred to assemble outside the city hall at 6.30 pm for a march to the Brandenburg Gate.

However, that figure is likely to be dwarfed by counter-demonstrations, organised by both the city’s numerous anti-fascist activists and the capital’s Turkish community – who hope to draw up to 11,000 marchers.

Police numbers are also likely to be deployed in large numbers to keep the two factions apart.
