1. UN Security Council rejects Palestinian resolution
The UN Security Council has rejected a resolution demanding an end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories within three years.
Jordan submitted the motion after it had been agreed upon by 22 Arab states and the Palestinian Authority.
Eight members of the 15-strong Security Council voted for it while the US and Australia voted against.

The Danish psychologist Nicolai Sennels published a translation today of a particularly horrific culturally enriched assault that occurred in Gothenburg, Sweden. The incident took place earlier this year, but the news was embargoed until the perpetrator was convicted in Gothenburg District Court.

3. Muslim prayers banned in govt buildings, schools in Xinjiang
BEIJING: The restive Xinjiang region in western China has banned prayer meetings and other religious practices in government buildings, schools and business offices. It has also imposed steep fines on the use of mobile phones and Internet to disseminate messages that ‘undermine national unity’.
Religious activities will now be restricted only to take place in registered venues like mosques. The new rules also disallow people from wearing or forcing others to wear clothes or logos associated with religious extremism.

Greek special forces are set to intercept a ship carrying up to 600 illegal immigrants that issued a distress call off the coast of Corfu earlier today.
Someone on the vessel, a Moldovan cargo ship called Blue Sky M, called emergency services claiming that there were armed people on board.
Blue Sky M, last tracked northwest of Corfu, was headed to Croatia when it sent out the distress call, but tracking services show that the ship has made a sharp turn, setting course towards Italy.

Imagine a country where the Prime Minister announces that new elections are needed, just a few months after the previous general elections were held. Then suddenly, the PM changes his mind a couple of weeks later and states that no new elections are needed, after all. Surely, this must be a banana republic? Well, the country in question is Sweden. The Prime Minister’s name is Stefan Löfven, a Social Democrat. Some outside observers may wonder whether Sweden during December 2014 took a major leap towards banana republic status. Or perhaps we should say banana monarchy, since Swedes still have a king.
At the same time, a 15-year-old boy was arrested after an explosion rocked Malmö, Sweden’s third-largest city, on Christmas Eve. The blast was the fourth in the area within a short period. “If you’re 15 years old then you don’t have the know how to make explosives. So we assume he wasn’t alone,” police spokesperson Ewa-Gun Westford told the news agency TT. Residents of the immigrant-dominated area of Rosengård in Malmö, the most Islamic city in Scandinavia, say that living there is a “disaster.” Burning cars, bombs and attacks with hand grenades have become commonplace. People are scared to go outside after dark. Many want to move.

Here’s a suggestion for Sweden, stop thinking of rape as something that can be discouraged with the threat of a few years studying Islam in the comfort of a Swedish prison, or as some neurotic behavior that has a talking cure and only needs enough state-funded psychologists on the job to make go away. Think of rape instead as perfectly normal behavior for non-civilized barbarians and entirely predictable behavior for insufficiently-civilized non-barbarians when the opportunity arises, as during war. Instead of fretting over the puerile, hand-wringing leftist/feminist question, Why do men rape? recall Genghis Khan saying famously,
“The greatest joy a man can know is to conquer his enemies and drive them before him. To ride their horses and take away their possessions. To see the faces of those who were dear to them bedewed with tears, and to clasp their wives and daughters in his arms”
and ask why men don’t.
Of course, after the last Swedish man has been enslaved or exterminated and all the Swedish women are chattel in one or another harem, that Somali rapist, grown long in the tooth and no longer able to rape with quite the ferocity he did in his fondly-remembered youth, might also look with a certain regret on his scores of grandsons and, like the Flail of God, think,
“After us, the people of our race will wear garments of gold; they will eat sweet, greasy food, ride splendid coursers, and hold in their arms the loveliest of women, and they will forget that they owe these things to us.”
Swedes might console themselves with that prospect.

For over ten years I have asked what has happeneed to Swedish men. How has their masculinity been removed? Is there something in the water? Are they under some spell?
It is unnatural for men of any stripe, or from wherever, to sit back and do nothing while their mothers, daughters and wives are raped. Doesnt the tears of the women they love have any effect on them? What do ythey tell their crying women – get over it? Drsss modestly? Dont go out alone. Perhaps its you fault? What?

What’s going on? Cultural marxism is what’s going on, and has been for decades in Sweden. What a totally f***ed up country.
I only became aware of how bad things were in Sweden over the last few years through reading blogs like Vlad’s. All I know about Swedes at firsthand is that they seem to be able to make the most remarkable extended holiday arrangements for themselves – guys basically wintering in the Philippines or wherever year after year on one or another sort of social welfare. At least they used to do that, maybe the money is scarcer now.
In a Fjordman essay I was reading yesterday, he quotes from a 1972 book about Sweden called The New Totalitarians by Roland Huntford. I found a pdf online, looks like it might answer some questions. Prescient of Huntford to have seen it coming that early. Apparently the book was an influence on Peter Brimelow.

The concluding paragraph of the chapter on Sweden’s historical background:

It had come to a country with little political feeling, but a love of bureaucracy, where the population submitted to an hierarchical order of things and accepted autocratic rule. They were steeped in a collective mentality, and the individual was at a discount. They were completely materialistic, and unencumbered by spiritual baggage. Culturally undeveloped they accepted what was put before them, and adopted whatever was new. Other people’s wars benefited them commercially, but they escaped hostilities themselves. Geographically and intellectually isolated, they were spared conflicting influences from abroad, subject only to one trend at a time. The situation might have been tailor-made for the system that was to come.’

What we are seeing in the West is the opening salvoes of the continuation of the Jihad against Christendom, that was brought to a close at Vienna in 1683. The new onset has come about as a direct consequence of allowing Muslim immigration to the West. Muslims are mandated to the Jihad and it is foolish of us to expect that they will refrain from doing so. It is our foolishness that gave them the opportunity to do so from within.
I do not think our societies, geared as they are to free and open thought, can continue with this continuous assault on freedom. If this assault is not brought to a halt soon, then free society will start to perish, and with that the economy. It may not be evident immediately, but perish it will in the fullness of time. If the current trend of increasing conflict continues, then we are irrevocably headed in the direction of a major armed conflict with the Islamic world. This is also going to lead to a civil war within Europe of unimaginable proportions. Europe’s civil wars (WW 1 and 2) have not exactly been powder-puff affairs.

YEMEN – Man brutally murders 10-year-old daughter
Man admits to torturing and killing daughter for allegedly having sex
Sana’a: A Yemeni father callously tortured and killed his daughter, 10, for allegedly committing adultery in the northern Dhamar province, a local official who questioned the man told Gulf News on Tuesday.
On the weekend, Yemenis on social media widely circulated a photo of a tortured girl who was found dead by shepherds in a rugged area in the northern province of Ibb.
Within hours, police found out that the girl was killed by her father.
Colonel Mohammad Qassem Al Hadi, the director of Dhamar’s Criminal Investigation Department, said that the man admitted that he brutally tortured and shot her four times with his rifle.
“We found a video clip in his mobile phone asking his daughter to confess to her mistake. The girl was bleeding and crying,” he said.
The official told Gulf News that the father used different methods of torture to force her into admitting having sex with another man, including putting an iron to her skin.
During the investigation, the man admitted that he threw his daughter off a cliff in the Samara Mountains in Ibb province after severely beating her.
“The father divorced his wife six years ago. He has two daughters and usually spends time moving from one country to another,” Al Hadi said.
The graphic photo of the dead girl sparked outrage on social media and local media outlets with some people demanding the execution of the father.
“If I were a judge, I would have sentenced him to death in the first session.” said Ali Al Bukhiti, an Al Houthi spokesman wrote on Tuesday on his Facebook page.
“This man must be cut into pieces and thrown to dogs,” said Mohammad Said, a Yemeni man on social media.

Germany: Merkel warns against PEGIDA in New Year address
Merkel tells Germans not to attend anti-Islam rallies
BERLIN (AP) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday warned the country’s citizens not to participate in weekly anti-Islam rallies that have attracted growing numbers of supporters in the eastern German city of Dresden.
Merkel condemned the organizers of the protests and said they were driven by prejudices and hatred against foreigners.
The chancellor used unusually direct words in her New Year’s speech on Wednesday for the rallies organized by a group calling itself Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West, or PEGIDA which have been attended by thousands.
When the protesters chant “we are the people,” they actually mean to say “you don’t belong — because of your religion or your skin color,” Merkel said.
PEGIDA organizers insist they are protesting only against extremism and not against immigrants or Islam itself, but the demonstrations have received support from far-right groups, prompting concerns that anti-foreigner sentiment might be rising.
Immigration has emerged as a contentious topic lately in Germany, partly due to a sharp rise in asylum applications, particularly from Syrians.
However, Merkel also referred to this topic and stressed that refugees from wars and crises around the globe are welcome in Germany, saying many of them “literally escaped death.”
“It goes without saying that we will help them and accommodate people who are looking for refuge,” the chancellor said.
The number of participants at PEGIDA’s weekly demonstrations in Dresden, a region that has few immigrants or Muslims, has swelled from a few hundred in October to more than 17,000 in December. Similar groups elsewhere haven’t mobilized anywhere near as many people, and there have also been large protests against them.
Merkel’s speech was released in print early Wednesday and will be shown on public television in the evening.

Muslims and Buddhists have met to confront violence and extremism;
Tehran has hosted a forum titled “Cooperation between Muslims and Buddhists for Confronting Violence and Extremism”. Religious leaders and intellectuals from Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand as well as Iranian Muslim scholars took part in the two-day event. The forum comes as Muslims in a number of countries including Myanmar have come under repeated attacks from extremist groups.
UGANDA – Kampala – Police raids William Street Mosque
POLICE last night raided Masjid Noor Mosque on William Street and arrested eight men who had barricaded themselves inside.
Police used cutters and other breaking equipment to gain access to the mosque. Six of the detained were later released according to Sheikh Sulaiman Ssemakula, one of the mosque’s leaders.
Police were by Wednesday morning still heavily deployed at the mosques but many Muslims gathered outside demanding it to be opened.
Traders operating shops located on the mosque premises were also unable to open up for business.
Sheikh Ssemakula revealed there was concern about the whereabouts of their leader, Amir Ummah Yunus Kamoga.
He said Kamoga’s phones are off and he is not at home. Muslims on Tuesday met and vowed not to leave the mosque that is at the center of disputes from various factions.
The Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura, had indicated they wanted the leaders who had been evicted by the current leaders of the mosque to return.
