    • Let’s hope not. Sounds more like a threat than a promise.

Sweden: soc-/commie, unsavory history stretching back a 100 years. Self-righteous beneficiaries of other nations’ defense expenditures.

Humanitarian medical assistance to the Dark Continent includes thinly-disguised experiments on people, testing of health-related technologies, and pseudo-scientific journal articles based on spurious metadata. Ugh.

MIT created the Technology Adaptation Program in the late 1970’s to help capital-exporting countries sort through various infrastructure development projects and minimize inappropriate technology transfer agreements.

Sweden made out like a bandit, selling – for example – turn-key, mega-hospital systems to the Gulf States during the boom. Projects that have proven to be unsustainable today. Sweden was a predator then and – as easily foreseen and evidently intended – remains there today to run things at bloated executive salaries.

The Swedes are proponents of so-called ‘replacement theology’ or ‘hard supersessionism’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Supersessionism&oldid=603519322). Jolly white of them to build a theological framework to justify their bred-in-the-bone RACIST hatred of Jews.

Their repugnant public expressions of animosity toward the Jewish State now include explicit calls for its “transition” to a universal, postmodern political entity. Editorial cartoons in their biggest newspapers need zero translation – been there, done that.

I’m playing Caroline Glick today. Applause welcomed.

      • All very interesting. Do you know any sources on particular hospital systems Sweden sold the Gulf?

        • There should be something in the archives of the Middle East Economic Digest. Maybe 1980-84.

In my wholesale condemnation of everything Swedish I didn’t bother to add that Sweden was one of many nations to contribute to developing Gulf infrastructure, and not the largest. The USA was at the top of that list. After all, the Gulf States had become our colony to exploit.

          Perhaps a footnote as a gesture…

The Tech Adaptation Program [TAP] was partially funded by the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA – http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Office_of_Technology_Assessment).

Members of Congress were acting at their home state supporters’ urging in order to have an edge in winning contracts. Within the sprawling MIT community there’d been research interest in developing “appropriate technology” as an academic subspecialty.

TAP saw the Gulf as a lab full of rats; it yielded an invaluable set of case histories. Many of those became course materials for graduate students at the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Those might be available online.

        • Thanks. MEED seems to want me to subscribe, but I get the idea from a general search. Ripping off the Gulf States was a large and complicated business. They seem to have had their revenge in the meantime.
