1. Hill shooter video may be held back

OTTAWA — Canadians may never get to see the video made by the Parliament Hill shooter before he began his deadly attack, Canada’s top cop said Monday.

RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson told reporters that, instead, he hopes to release a written transcript of the video made by Michael Zehaf Bibeau.

He suggested releasing the full video could hurt the investigation into the events of Oct. 22.

“I had said that I hoped to release the video, but I think it forms a central part of the evidence,” Paulson said Monday. “I think we need to think thoroughly through the benefits and the merits of releasing the video. I do understand the public interest in understanding what’s in that video and I do remain interested in seeing some version of that being shared with Canadians.”

(“Some version of that…”  I think George Orwell had a word for government agencies of force releasing versions of the truth to the public. I left this comment at SUN)

2. Police seek suspicious man

Ottawa Police are asking for help from the public to identify a man they’re calling suspicious.

They say he entered the grounds of Manordale Public School in Nepean last Tuesday around 8:15 a.m. and offered candy to a young child.

Police say they want to speak with the man.

He is described as a white male with a dark tanned complexion. Police believe he’s between 25 and 35 years old and has a medium build with short dark hair, a dark beard. (No mention of any accent though)

3. KSA: Arsonist sets mosque on fire

The muezzin (prayer caller) said he entered the mosque to call for the noon prayer and was shocked to see fire in several places inside.

He called the people of the neighborhood to extinguish the blaze before it covered the entire building.

Local residents said there is evidence that the act was intentional and no specialized authority came to investigate the incident.

Patrick Maisonnave, the French ambassador to Israel, is reportedly in a relationship with the daughter of a high-level PLO terrorist, Issam Sartawi, who was later assassinated, the French-language JSS News reported Monday.

Maisonnave, according to the report, is close to Nadia Sartawi, the former director of International Relations and Protocol of the Palestinian Legislative Council (the Palestinian Assembly), and who was also in charge of economic negotiations for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sartawi currently works for the ministry.

Her father, Issam, was the right hand man in Europe for Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, and played an important role in the attack against Israeli Jews at Munich Airport in 1970, according to Israel’s Ma’ariv newspaper.

5. Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood smuggling weapons into Israel

The Jordanian government arrested 21 Muslim Brotherhood members for smuggling weapons and money into the West Bank, Arab media reported.

The Brotherhood members are accused of creating a secret military organization and planning to carry out terrorist attacks in the West Bank, senior Jordanian sources told the London-based daily Al-Hayat in a report published on Sunday.

6. New Zealand: Well known and recognized influential Muslim declares part of New Zealand to be part of Islamic State:

Te Amorangi Kireka-WhaangaTe Amorangi Kireka-Whaanga was recently named one of the world’s 500 most influential Muslims. He is probably not here setting up a competitor to the Islamic State, as just weeks ago he pledged his support for it. The Islamic State of Aotearoa is likely intended to be a branch of the larger entity. But of course all this is because Te Amorangi Kireka-Whaanga has “gone mad.” How odd that so many Muslims worldwide have “gone mad” in exactly the same way.

7. Service dogs not welcome in Calgary

in a survey of cities across Canada, one municipality stands out as by far the most intolerant of working canines.

Hang your head in shame, Calgary.

“We were just in Calgary, and we were denied service at 20 places in a row — we even got kicked out of a club, and we were there with the Stampeders,” said George Leonard, founder of the Courageous Companions Program.

“We surveyed cities across Canada, and Calgary was the last place we went, and I couldn’t get a cab, I couldn’t get into a restaurant, and it was like, are you kidding me?”

[…] they found they were refused and told to leave at 90% of places they tried.

(Alberta has 113,000 muslims. Over half, 58,310, are in Calgary)

BEIJING: The restive Xinjiang region in western China has banned prayer meetings and other religious practices in government buildings, schools and business offices. It has also imposed steep fines on the use of mobile phones and Internet to disseminate messages that ‘undermine national unity’.

Religious activities will now be restricted only to take place in registered venues like mosques. The new rules also disallow people from wearing or forcing others to wear clothes or logos associated with religious extremism.

Thank you M., Yucki, Richard, ML., UK Pete and Buck and all. More to come. In fact its a virtual avalanche of horror stories of islamic activities across the world. Poor Stephen King. How is he to compete when reality overtakes the most prolific imaginations?

  1. Re: your post on the French diplomat having an affair with a PLO terrorist, I googled her name and got a picture which showed her together with Tariq Ramadan, of the Muslim Brotherhood.
