Feds cracking down on ‘barbaric’ cultural practices, immigrant polygamy

TORONTO – Legislation aimed at curbing “barbaric” cultural practices from occurring in Canada would be introduced on Wednesday, Citizenship Minister Chris Alexander has announced.
Although he refused to provide details, Alexander said the legislation would also take aim at “honour-based” violence against girls and women.
“We intend sending a very clear message to anyone coming to Canada that such practices are unacceptable,” Alexander said.
“We will be standing up for women and girls who have come to Canada for a better life.”
The legislation, entitled the “Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act,” follows cases in which Afghan men in Canada were accused of killing female relatives.

Norwegian intelligence authorities said Wednesday that the Nordic country “likely” will be threatened by or hit with an act of terror in the next 12 months.
The Joint Counter Terror Center says extremists from the Islamic State group, among others, have called for terror acts against countries that are part of the U.S.-led alliance against the group. Norway has said it will send 120 soldiers to join the international campaign against Islamic militants in Iraq and help train local troops there.

- A (Yazidi or Christian) girl, aged 10 to 20 years, is for 150,000 dinars.

4. Clashes rock flashpoint Jerusalem mosque compound
Jerusalem (AFP) – Israeli police clashed with stone-throwing Palestinians inside Jerusalem’s flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound on Wednesday after far-right Jewish groups announced plans to visit the site despite weeks of soaring tensions.
(It is interesting that a group that feel that Jewish people should not be banned from a part of Jerusalem are called “Far Right” while the people who feel that no Jews should be allowed to an area are not called Nazis or Far Left or anything at all except occasionally ‘militants’ when they break out and kill Jewish people for being Jewish)

IRAQ – ISIS broadcasts executions and battle scenes in ‘Media Centers’ throughout Mosul
Mosul (IraqiNews.com) The so-called Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) installed a number of ‘Media Centers’ in public areas of Mosul. These Media Centers are rooms in which there is a screen to display videos documenting the battles and executions of ISIS, while the elements who present inside these rooms distribute printed publications issued by the terrorist group.
A citizen stated, “Memebrs of ISIS arrived with a portable room — which is similar to a kiosk and placed it on the side of the road in the Cultural Group area of Mosul — attaching to one of its exteriors a large screen and mounting a sign saying ‘Media Center’ on it.”
The citizen added, “We assumed that this ‘Media Center’ would broadcast historical films or religious shows, but we were surprised to find scenes of blood and murder that included clashes, executions and slaughters. The organization said that these battles were waged in Iraq and Syria.”

Will $3 Billion Saudi Deal Arm Hezbollah with French Weapons?
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius announced on Tuesday that his country and Saudi Arabia have signed an arms deal, by which France will receive $3 billion to send weapons to the Lebanese army – weapons that some fear may fall into Hezbollah hands.
“This agreement, financed by a Saudi grant, will contribute to strengthen the Lebanese army, which guarantees the unity and stability of Lebanon,” said Fabius, giving no further details as to what weapons would be included in the package. Reuters reports those details are to be given by the French Defense Ministry on Wednesday.
The US has already spent over $1 billion since 2006 to train and provide equipment for Lebanon’s army of 65,000, in a bid to bolster its standing vis-a-vis the Iran-proxy terror group Hezbollah.
Despite those efforts, the Shi’ite group Hezbollah has wielded great authority over the army of the former French colony, and in fact there is a deep military cooperation between the groups.
“In the eastern Bekaa area, the LAF (Lebanese Armed Forces) is playing a direct support role for Hezbollah operations, and, for example, they will deploy to areas that Hezbollah has cleared and then set up checkpoints,” Tony Badran, a Middle East analyst at the Washington-based Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told the Washington Post.
US officials revealed last week that US President Barack Obama’s administration has been growing closer to Hezbollah, with US intelligence agencies giving information about Al Qaeda-linked groups operating in the country to Lebanese security agencies close to or controlled by Hezbollah, including the General Security Directorate.
The revelation shows how embedded Hezbollah is in the Lebanese security system.
It also confirms statements in September by Lebanese experts who said America is indirectly giving Hezbollah military aid, with new weapons being sent to the Lebanese army that coordinates with Hezbollah, and US intel finding its way to the group.
The arms deal announcement on Tuesday comes a day after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah made a rare appearance in which he threatened Israel, saying in the next war his rocket barrages would close Israeli sea and airports.
“We are not afraid of war. We are a true threat on Israel and we aren’t deterred by their threats. Their threats aren’t based on military strength, but rather on their lost hope,” threatened Nasrallah.
Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) fired back on Tuesday evening, saying “the boastful coward Nasrallah should know: an option like that doesn’t exist as far as we’re concerned. If a scenario like that happens, we will destroy Lebanon to its core, and return it to the stone age – and him (Nasrallah) under the stones.”
The announcement Tuesday also comes the same day that French socialist lawmakers submitted a motion to vote on recognizing the Palestinian Authority as the “state of Palestine,” in a moving following in the footsteps of the UK and Sweden.

Minister: If Hezbollah fires rockets at Israel, Lebanon will be razed
Responding to Nasrallah threats, Yisrael Katz says if attacked, Israel would return Lebanon to Stone Age and bury Shiite leader under the rocks
Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz warned Tuesday that Israel was prepared to completely eviscerate Lebanon in response to any cross-border missile attack by Hezbollah.
Katz (Likud) was responding to a fiery speech by the Shiite group’s head Hassan Nasrallah earlier in the day in which the extremist leader claimed that his organization’s rockets can hit anywhere in Israel and threatened to target the country’s sea ports and main airport in the next conflict.
“In order to avoid any doubt on the matter, Nasrallah the cowardly braggart should know this: that option does not exist for us!,” Katz wrote on his official Facebook page (Hebrew).
“If such a scenario does materialize, we will raze Lebanon to the ground! We will return it to the Stone Age and bury [Nasrallah] under the rocks.”
In his Tuesday speech, Nasrallah said Hezbollah “is fully ready in southern Lebanon.”
Addressing via video thousands of Lebanese Shiites commemorating the Ashura holiday in southern Beirut, Naharnet reported, he said the group’s activities fighting in support of the Syrian regime had not affected its battle readiness.

1 killed as driver plows into Jerusalem crowd in terror attack
The fatality was named as Border Police officer Jedan Assad, 38, from Beit Jann, a Druze village. Assad was a father to a three-year-old boy; his wife is five months pregnant. His father said later that Assad “loved his service, and loved Jerusalem,” and called for agreements that would prevent more fatalities, “be they Jews, Arabs or Druze.”

ISRAEL – Three IDF soldiers injured in vehicular terror attack in West Bank
Security source sweeping area southwest of Bethlehem after Palestinian vehicle hits soldiers in the 2nd vehicular attack of the day targeting Israelis.
Three IDF soldiers were injured Wednesday night after a Palestinian vehicle slammed into them on Route 60 southwest of Bethlehem in an attempt to target the Israeli forces, the IDF spokesperson’s office said.
A freight truck with Palestinian license plates hit the three IDF soldiers, wounding one seriously and two moderately in what he IDF said was a terror attack, making it the second such vehicular attack targeting Israelis on Wednesday.
The perpetrating vehicle fled the scene immediately after the attack, and security forces set up roadblocks and launched searches of the area of the southern West Bank.
