I really want to go to bed. But as I may have mentioned, my email was out all day and just came back recently and there was so much valuable information in it I can’t sleep in good conscience till I post at least some of what is left of it. My headline on this is ‘riffing’ on an idea I often think of. How many people do not concern themselves with what is far away and as the problem gets closer and closer, people’s natural tendency is to withdraw their gaze closer to home so they can continue to avoid dealing with the problem until their own personal cost benefit becomes so clear that they must act. By then it is often too late.

1. UK: Royal British Legion cadet threatened to be ‘shot by Taliban’ for selling Remembrance Sunday poppies in Derbyshire

A teenage army cadet was threatened by a man shouting anti-military abuse while selling poppies in Belper.

The cadet, who was helping to raise money for the Royal British Legion in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday, was the victim of a threatening remark – branded by police as “appallingly bad taste.”

The man is reported to have said to said to the boy, aged between 15 and 18: “If you carry on like that you’ll be shot by the Taliban.”

The other day I was talking to a senior Obama administration official about the foreign leader who seems to frustrate the White House and the State Department the most. “The thing about Bibi is, he’s a chickenshit,” this official said, referring to the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, by his nickname.

6. This appears to be yet another slick well made jihadi magazine. The dilemma remains: Do we post it and encourage its ideas? Or do we post it and trust that people will see it and recognize its problematic elements and be more active in their resistance to their ideology. I guess it all boils down to what people want and feel matters.

Iran executed a record-shattering 411 citizens in the first half of 2014 and a total of 852 people in the last 15 months, including at least eight juveniles, according to a new United Nations report that will be introduced to the organization’s General Assembly Tuesday.

In addition to a surge in state-sanctioned killings that a U.N. official referred to as “shocking,” Iran continues to torture imprisoned individuals using techniques such as amputation, electroshock, flogging, and burnings, according to the report, which details human rights in the Islamic Republic.

8. Teen who joined ISIS: ‘Here I can really be free’

One of the teens who fled Austria to become poster girl for jihad in Syria has blasted claims that she wants to return home in an interview believed to be held at gunpoint by her ISIS-devoted husband.

“Here I can really be free,” 15-year-old Sabina Selimovic told French magazine, Paris Match via SMS text messages. “I can practice my religion.”

“I couldn’t do that in Vienna,” she added.

9. World Health Organization: 1 in 3 Somalis are Insane

Do we really need more Somali immigration? Aside from incidents like Westgate in which Somali terrorists kill non-Muslims, according to the World Health Organization, most of the country is insane.

That may explain some things.

Somalia has one of the world’s highest rates of mental illness with one in three people affected, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The cause is Somali Muslim violence. And drugs.

    If you have any information for taking sides in being offended the most please take it to Room 101.

    Muslims have been encouraged to build their beach-head mosques. This is their country. Democracy demands their collectivist voice be heard among the lobbyists.

    The Cadet should show some respect and not wear antagonistic clothing. A hijab wearing police officer should arrest him.

    The UK will RIP figuratively and literally.

    MONTREAL — The Quebec politician who once helped to draft an immigrant code of conduct says all Canadian mosques should be shut down for 90 days after jihadists killed two soldiers on home soil.

    “These people all went through mosques,” former Herouxville, Que., councillor Andre Drouin told QMI Agency’s sister French television station, TVA. “So maybe there’s something wrong with mosques. You don’t have to be a genius to think that.”

    As a town councillor in 2007, Drouin helped craft a controversial immigrant “code of conduct” in his town. The code banned religious face coverings, genital mutilation and death by stoning.

    The code drew media and protesters from around the world to the tiny town two hours northeast of Montreal that has almost no minorities.

    Drouin said a 90-day mosque closure is necessary after Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, 53, was run down by radical Islamist Martin Rouleau-Couture in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. last week.
