4. Our ‘Moderate Islamist’ Allies In Syria Condemn Obama’s Bombing Campaign
(Well didn’t this all happen just a little faster than I figured it would)
My friend Patrick Poole reports that the U.S.-”vetted” and supported “moderate Islamist” group known as Harakat al-Hazm – part of the Free Syrian Army that Washington is banking on to become our “boots on the ground” in the fight against Islamic State terrorists — has forcefully condemned the U.S.-led bombing campaign against the Islamic State … just days after Congress approved President Obama’s proposal to spend $500 million U.S.-taxpayer dollars to train such “vetted” “moderates” at camps located in the very moderate Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. (I discussed the Obama plan, endorsed by the GOP’s McCain wing, in last weekend’s column.)
Harakat al-Hazm has received American aid and weaponry despite its open alliance with al-Nusra, the local al Qaeda franchise in Syria.

8. Parents’ protest after primary school serves non-Halal food to daughter
A MUSLIM family have sent their children to school with “Halal only” signs taped to their chests as a protest about the school serving their daughter non-Halal food.
Talib Hussain said five-year-old Khadija Khan was given non-Halal food by staff at Woodside Academy, Bradford, on at least six occasions that the school knows of.
Although he said he was willing to accept the mistake the first time, he and his family have lost confidence that the school will prevent similar mistakes from happening again.
(Alternatively, any family that has children with elective special dietary needs could be sent to school with food from home. The very idea that any parents feel the state should pay for special muslim food, when its not even a medical thing, shows a sense of entitlement and state sponsored religion that is beyond what any democracy should tolerate. In fact, zero-tolerance for halal should be something all schools should adopt since they have it for everything classically Western it seems)

Islamists threaten to behead German hostage
Islamist militants in the Philippines have reportedly threatened to kill one of their two German hostages over German support for the US-led campaign against jihadists in Iraq and Syria.
A foreign ministry spokeswoman said the German government had “heard about the report” but stressed that “threats are not an appropriate way to influence our policy in Syria and Iraq”.
“There will be no change to our Syria and Iraq policy,” she added.
A terrorism monitoring group reported on Tuesday that the extremists said they would kill one of two German hostages, who were captured from a sailing yacht in April, unless a 250 million pesos (€4.4 million) ransom is paid and Berlin stops supporting the US-led campaign against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria (Isis).
US-based SITE, which monitors extremists’ activities worldwide, released a picture attributed to the Abu Sayyaf group showing a masked militant with a machete beside a grey-haired white man, reportedly a German doctor.

Report: Qatar arming Islamist extremists
The Telegraph – How Qatar is funding the rise of Islamist extremists
The fabulously wealthy Gulf state, which owns an array of London landmarks and claims to be one of our best friends in the Middle East, is a prime sponsor of violent Islamists
[…]Qatar, the owner of Harrods, has dispatched cargo planes laden with weapons to the victorious Islamist coalition, styling itself “Libya Dawn”.
Western officials have tracked the Qatari arms flights as they land in the city of Misrata, about 100 miles east of Tripoli, where the Islamist militias have their stronghold. Even after the fall of the capital and the removal of Libya’s government, Qatar is “still flying in weapons straight to Misrata airport”, said a senior Western official.
Take Syria, where Qatar has been sponsoring the rebellion against Bashar al-Assad’s regime. In itself, that policy places Qatar alongside the leading Western powers and much of the Arab world.
But Qatar has deliberately channelled guns and cash towards Islamist rebels, notably a group styling itself Ahrar al-Sham, or “Free Men of Syria”. Only last week, Khalid al-Attiyah, the Qatari foreign minister, praised this movement as “purely” Syrian.
He added that its fighters had suffered heavy losses while combating the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil), the group behind the murder of David Haines, the British aid worker, and which is holding John Cantlie and Alan Henning hostage.
Far from being a force for moderation, Ahrar al-Sham played a key role in transforming the anti-Assad revolt into an Islamist uprising. Its men fought alongside Jabhat al-Nusra, an al-Qaeda affiliate, during the battle for Aleppo and they were accused of at least one sectarian massacre.
Instead of fighting Isil, Ahrar al-Sham helped the jihadists to run Raqqa, the town in eastern Syria that is now the capital of the self-proclaimed “Caliphate”. This cooperation with Isil happened for some months until the two groups fell out last year. […]

Abu Sayyaf demands Berlin to stop supporting US airstrikes vs. IS; threatens to behead German captives
The letter reads: “The Abu Sayyaf is warning the families of the hostages and the German government, and the Philippine government – first, you give us our demand of P250 million up to October 10, 2014 – or we will behead one of the hostage; secondly, Germany must cease its support to America on the killings of our brother Muslims in Iraq and Sham (Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine), and our brother mujahedeen.”

6/ It’s sickening the way feminism managed to hijack what was actually an individual jihad for their own ends.
The caliphate before the current one called for individual jihad. In his Youtube presentation ‘The Boston Attack and Individual Jihad,’ Stephen Coughlin discusses a document Andrew Bostom unearthed at the State Department while writing ‘The Legacy of Jihad,’ which Bostom identifies as the last fatwa from a sitting caliph calling for a global jihad. In Bostom’s book it appears as the ‘1915 Ottoman Fatwa.’
Reviewing Bostom’s book, a Dr. Wolfgang Schwanitz writes that Bostom has mistaken a 1915 commentary on the 1914 fatwa for the fatwa itself. This appears to be right. The actual fatwa is here:
http://www.firstworldwar.com/source/ottoman_fetva.htm
Instigating jihad was a German scheme, but the fatwa was issued by the highest Ottoman religious authority on behalf of the sultan/caliph. The author of the commentary was educated at Al-Azhar University and Dar al-Ulum in Cairo.
The commentary calls for ‘three divisions’ of Holy War, ‘war in secret, war by word of mouth, and physical war.’
It identifies three means of carrying on jihad:
1. Every private individual can fight with deadly weapons.
2. Arming small raiding parties
3. Actual war in the offensive
Coughlin appears to be working from a slightly different version of the commentary or pamphlet included in Bostom’s book. But both versions support with example Coughlin’s point that individual jihad can be traced back to the actions of Mohammed who gave orders for it.
Let them brown bag it — then they can have the halal lunch they hanker for.
I don’t know why schools are providing lunch for kids; we always brought our in brown paper bags or ran home for lunch.
The left decided that the parents wouldn’t provide nutritional meals to their kids.

Glossary of extremists in Mideast and Africa
President Barack Obama presses ahead with his campaign to diminish and eventually defeat Islamic State group extremists in Iraq and Syria, but the list of radical Islamic elements the United States and many of its coalition allies are fighting does not stop there. Violent radicals inspired by al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden pepper the map from the Indian Ocean to the Atlantic.
A look at the organizations presenting the most serious threats from South Asia to the Middle East and Africa.

Re Halal-only kiddies —
When did it become the responsibility of the government to feed the kids in school? I still see “lunch boxes” offered for purchase in stores: is their purpose no longer understood?
