1. Why so many jihadis come from Belgium and an odd protest there
More than a thousand fighters from Western countries have joined the conflict in Iraq and Syria, with the most per-capita coming from Belgium, according to an analysis by Business Insider .
Between 250 and 400 jihadists in the area are thought to have come from the small European nation, which has a population of 11 million.
(So Canada, Belgium and Finland now all claim the most per capita jihadis. Is the UN giving grant money with a huge cash prize for first place or something?)
2. Please take a moment and watch this speech by Bush from July 2007 where he explains why the troops should not be pulled from Iraq early.
5. UK: Second arson attack on East Ham church causes £50,000 of damage
Interior damage to the churchMore than £50,000 worth of damage has been caused to the porch of the Grade I listed St Mary Magdalene Church, the oldest building in Newham.
An arson attack on a nature reserve building within the church site caused a similar amount of damage about three months ago.
Rev Quintin Peppiatt has condemned those responsible and urged the police to ensure that the culprits are caught.
“I think it is outrageous that people should seek to attack church buildings,” he said.
“They have destroyed a Victorian porch that was built in 1908 and damaged the wooden support which has made the whole structure unsafe.
(Funny how when anything happens to a mosque in the UK, even as benign as a piece of bacon found near the damned place, everyone is lightning fast to blame islamophobes or the EDL. but when this happens its like watching Irish Step dancing as they avoid any mention of the bloody obvious, “A minority community” indeed. Must have been the Chinese I bet)

US confirms al-Shabab leader Ahmed Godane killed (BBC, Sept 5, 2014)
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-29086800
“The leader of the Somali Islamist group al-Shabab, Ahmed Abdi Godane, was killed following a US attack earlier this week, the Pentagon has said.
The US carried out air strikes on Monday night destroying a vehicle and an encampment south of the capital.
Somalia’s president issued a statement on Friday urging militants to embrace peace after the death of their leader.
Godane was one of the US state department’s most wanted men.
It had placed a bounty of $7m (£4.2m) on his head.
Somali analyst Nuur Mohamud Sheekh told the BBC that Godane’s death “will deal a major blow to the group.
“It will have an impact in terms of affecting the morale of the fighters on the ground but it is not the end of al-Shabab in the short or medium term.”
He added there was no likely successor.
On Friday, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamed announced a 45-day amnesty for militants who are willing to renounce al-Shabab…..”
Kurdish forces make gains on ISIS in Iraq as NATO leaders promise help (CNN, Sept 5, 2014)
http://edition.cnn.com/2014/09/05/world/meast/iraq-isis/index.html
“Kurdish forces backed by U.S. air cover made gains Friday against ISIS fighters in Iraq’s Mosul province as NATO leaders concluded a summit in Wales, pledging to help defeat the radical Islamic forces.
The Kurdish fighters, known as the Peshmerga, retook several villages seized this summer in ISIS’ lightning assault in Iraq as well as high ground overlooking plains on the approach to Mosul, CNN’s Anna Coren reported.
“It is a duty of everybody who loves democracy and freedom and human rights to struggle against the terrorists,” said Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Rowsch Shaways, a Kurd.
U.S. forces conducted four airstrikes Friday around Mosul Dam and in Irbil, destroying an observation post, several vehicles and three mortar positions, U.S. Central Command said.
In Kirkuk province, ISIS fighters kidnapped nearly 50 men from the village of Tal Ali after beating them, according to Kurdish security forces. ISIS ordered residents to fight the Peshmerga before leaving, the Kurdish officials said….”
Predator Drone Reportedly Spotted Over ISIS Stronghold (abcnews, Sept 5, 2014)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/predator-drone-reportedly-spotted-isis-stronghold/story?id=25293798
“Activists on two sides of the Syrian conflict both reported seeing what appears to be a drone lingering over Raqqa, Syria, near where U.S. special operations forces attempted to rescue ISIS hostages in July.
Undated images of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), shot by Syrian activists as well as ISIS supporters, appeared on social media today. One former and two current U.S. officials familiar with the American drone program told ABC News the aircraft appeared to be an unarmed Predator drone, likely on a surveillance mission.
Activists with the “Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered” campaign, who snapped some of the photos, told ABC News the drone spent about three hours flying over Raqqa city between noon and 3pm local time. These activists also reported seeing two purported ISIS fighters wearily watching the drone on a commercial street before taking off on a 4×4.
While it’s unclear who was in control of the drone, public records show the U.S. has air bases that operate UAVs relatively close to Raqqa, like at Incirlik Air Base in southern Turkey, just over 200 miles away. Late last month the officials revealed President Obama had given the OK for the U.S. to fly surveillance aircraft directly over Syria, according to The Associated Press. U.S. officials declined to comment for this report….”

BREITBART – Radical Imam Anjem Choudary: Terrorizing the Enemy is Part of Islam
Anjem Choudary has been having a media moment. In just over a week he has appeared on Hannity, on CNN’s Reliable Sources and now on RT’s Worlds Apart. In the RT interview Choudary went beyond what he had said on the other networks offering a broad defense of the beheading of foreign journalists, even citing a verse from the Koran which he says makes clear terrorism is “part of Islam.”

Islamic Calip-hate? (ft. UK lawyer and imam Anjem Choudary)
The recent beheading of journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff by the Islamic State sparked shock and outrage. And with the images spreading worldwide, the group seems to be achieving its goal. What’s driving the ideology and rise of one of the world’s most notorious terrorist organisations, and will its Caliphate ever be able to coexist peacefully with the community of nations? Oksana is joined by Anjem Choudary, British imam and lawyer, to reflect on these issues.

Egypt re-assesses anti-militant tactics as Sinai militants change strategies
IS cells have been reported in Sinai, informed sources say
[…]The rumoured presence of IS cells in Egypt have proved to have a basis in fact. A military operation is currently in progress to target these cells in the Jebel Al-Hilal area. According to military sources, the initial purge will be followed by a combing operation that is expected to take some time.
The amount of time needed would be less, say sources, if there was greater international cooperation. Washington’s foot-dragging on the issue has surprised many observers. It is, says one commentator, “a thorn in the side of Egyptian-US bilateral relations.”
Egyptian officials are increasingly exasperated with what they see as backtracking by the US. There have been delays in supplying equipment and providing maintenance for three Apache fighters, as well as the suspended delivery of 10 more aircraft that were the subject of an agreement signed when Mohamed Morsi was president.
General Rashad points to another complicating factor in the equation — a major shift in Israel’s strategy. The Israeli government is moving away from confronting the Palestinian resistance and towards tackling new groups that it believes constitute a real existential threat.
“We need to consider the role the US is playing in this shift,” says Rashad. “Washington is clearly very worried. It has been estimated that emerging militant groups will pose a significant threat to Israel by 2020.”
Rashad believes it may take longer for such “non-state organisations to create parallel entities” but nonetheless warns that a full-scale war against them in the Levant may be necessary by 2026.
Growing awareness in Washington of regional terror threats may pave the way for closer cooperation. US Secretary of State John Kerry has already told Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry that Egypt will soon receive the delayed military equipment.
That message was followed by the arrival in Cairo of Senator Howard “Buck” McKeon, chairman of the House of Representatives Armed Services Committee. The sole purpose of his visit was to discuss ways to combat the new wave of terrorism with Egyptian officials.

A whole lot sooner.
Why do leading Western politicians, with no exception, continue to insist since 9/11, that Islam is the religion of peace. I believe Western politicians know what Islam is. The reason they will not state the obvious is obvious. In the meantime, Muslims better get used to increasing turmoil that Western intervention will create in the next 50 years. That is what GWB stated around 13 years ago. He even mentioned “Crusade” but walked it back asap. That is what Cameron stated yet again, and confirmed a couple of days ago, what I have believed to be the case – that the West is creating a new Cold war with the Islamic world. I even stated a few years back that the West may help in the creation of a caliphate – far better to deal with the problem as a single entity.
With a Cold war + Hot war, will come increasing sanctions, interventions, total immigration block, and much else. It will be much worse the original Cold war.
Muslim nations are going to be put in a pressure cooker, then frozen – rinse and repeat cycle.
Let’s hope we can stay dry.
#2 As usual the person defending the US tells things the way they are, and as usual the left ignores the facts changes police and then blames the patriot for the disaster caused by the left.

French ex-hostage identifies captor in Syria
PARIS (AP) — A French journalist held hostage for months by extremists in Syria identified one of his captors Saturday as a Frenchman suspected of later killing four at the Brussels Jewish Museum, saying the militant had took sadistic delight in mistreating prisoners.
Nicolas Henin said he often heard Mehdi Nemmouche, who he said was among his captors from July 2013 to December 2013, torturing Syrians who were being held in the same former hospital basement. Once, Henin told reporters, Nemmouche punched him in the face and then showed off his gloves.
“He was very proud, telling me ‘You saw these motorcycle gloves? I bought them just for you, to punch you in the face. Did you like them?’ That sums up the violent and provocative personality of Mehdi Nemmouche that I frequently saw,” Henin said.
