Breaking: Obama briefed for a whole year about the potential of the Islamic State: refused to do anything

A former Pentagon official confirms to Fox News that detailed and specific intelligence about the rise of ISIS was included in the PDB, or the President’s Daily Brief, for at least a year before the group took large swaths of territory beginning in June.

The official, who asked not to be identified because the PDB is considered the most authoritative, classified intelligence community product providing the President with analysis of sensitive international events, said the data was strong, and “granular” in detail, adding a policy maker “…could not come away with any other impression: This is getting bad.”

The official who has close knowledge of the process said the President, who reads the PDB unlike his predecessors who traditionally had the document briefed to them, was not known to come back to the intelligence community with further questions or “taskings.” Asked to describe the frequency, the former Pentagon official said “not generally.”

Did Barack Obama really get surprised by the rise of ISIS and its capabilities to fight militarily — or did he just ignore the threat? Fox News’ Catherine Herridge reports that a former Pentagon official says the Presidential Daily Briefing has included warnings about ISIS for more than a year, long before Obama dismissed them as “jayvees.”  In this case, the source insists, the intelligence on ISIS’ capabilities and potential was “exquisite”:

    • NO this is a good clip, but the story I am trying to track is by another FOX woman and is quite specific about the military and intel communities blaming Obama for ISIS because they briefed him fully daily for a year explaining their capabilities fully and then Obama announced they were “JV” and acted as if they were.

  3. Obama can’t even begin to address the current Middle Eastern crisis without first acknowledging that he is a fool and that everything that is going wrong today is his fault.

    He betrayed an ally when he attacked and caused the horrible death of Muammar Gaddafi, while at the same time letting the Islamists get their hands on the entire arsenal of the Libyan military as they destroyed a stable government. Then he betrayed another ally when he went against Hosni Mubarak of Egypt in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood. And he shouldn’t have taken such a belligerent stance against the Assad regime in Syria, effectively joining ranks with the Jihadists by attacking Assad.

    Barrack Obama has been as capriciously warlike as Democrats always accuse Republicans of being. Then there’s the way he telegraphed the dates of America’s defeat in Afghanistan and Iraq, much to the delight of the Jihadists. And that just scratches the surface of Barack’s idiocy.

    How can Obama deal with ISIS now when everyone knows the whole mess is his fault?
    If the Americans don’t impeach the silly bugger, their country is going to be a rudderless ship in a storm for the next two years, while the world suffers from America’s absence. Two years is a very long time. Perhaps President Biden could do a better job…

    • We could probably get a bill of impeachment through the house but then we would have to get 66 Senators to vote for removing him from office. Since there is no way that the Republicans will win enough seats to control 66 ( and even if we did the establishment (mainly moderate) Republicans would never vote to remove him) impeachment is off the table. So we will be without leadership for the next 2 years and what happens after that depends on who wins the 2016 election. Even if a conservative wins it will take 1 to 3 years to rebuild our military, this timetable assumes we will not have massive opposition from the Dems and no terror attacks or sabotage from the Moslems.

    • Impeachment isn’t gonna happen.

      Though here’s a tidbit: Biden dumb? That has to be the best acting since President Reagan left Hollywood for politics. He’s as smart as Romney, who’s as smart as Bibi Netanyahu, who worked for Romney just after he graduated from MIT.

      So whatever games they’re playing are just that. An inner circle knows where the birth certificates and transcripts are and has chosen to play along with this travesty.

      Depts of State and Defense are riddled with enemies. Trusted senior military have been forced out. The CIA has gone completely rogue (except those piping info to Claire Lopez, a veteran of 25 years).

      Republicans are just as compromised as Democrats. Or almost. NOTHING tops the fact that POTUS himself is a ringer.

      • If anything you are understating the problem, the enemies without will be much easier to defeat then the enemies within, the latter will require a major civil war that cleanses the nation of communism and Islam, preferably in that order.
